Today, we begin by circling back to some important news from Sunday. Ben Wikler, Chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, has announced his candidacy for the Democratic National Committee. Todd believes that Wikler is a great choice for the role. His success in coalition-building is undeniable, and he is focusing on what Todd sees as one of the largest issues for Democrats: communication. The GOP is better at building narratives, and their stories about the Democratic party are the only ones many people hear. Ben Wikler seeks to be more present in the spaces where people are actually listening. Most importantly, he knows how to win. 

At the bottom of the hour, our friend Luke Mathers returns for another round of Tuesday Tangents! He shares his thoughts on Ben Wikler’s candidacy. There is no silver bullet for fixing news infrastructure, but Wikler has demonstrated that he knows how to organize at a grassroots level. Will he be able to translate these methods to a national scale? Only time will tell.
