Political disagreements don’t have to divide your family, but that doesn’t mean you have to stand for verbal abuse or compromise your own beliefs. Trygve’s work around Europe fighting authoritarianism gives him unique experience in guiding people with extreme beliefs back towards reality. The key is to listen and gently point out the contradictions between what they believe in their personal lives and what they advocate for politically. You’re never going to shame someone into changing their mind, but you can help them to discover the truth themselves.
