In political news, President-elect Donald Trump’s latest cabinet nomination is unsurprisingly controversial. Dr. Janette Nesheiwat has been chosen to be Trump’s Surgeon General, and this time, the criticism is coming from within the GOP. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Nesheiwat spoke to the efficacy of CDC guidelines, including masks and vaccines. People like Derrick Van Orden are coming out of the woodwork to claim that supporting “the jab” should be disqualifying. 

Additionally, Special Counsel Jack Smith announced that he will be dropping his election subversion case in accordance with the US constitution. Legally, the case must be resolved before the president-elect is sworn in, and that is impossible at this point.
