Last night, history was made as jurors reached a verdict on Donald Trump’s current trial. He was convicted of all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to influence the 2016 election. Donald J. Trump is now the first former American president to be convicted of a felony. Today, Todd brings in experts across political and legal fields to reflect on this moment and what it will mean for November’s election.
First, we welcome Matt Flynn, former Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. As an experienced attorney, he delves into what this verdict means. When it comes down to it, this trial is far from over. Afterwards, Trygve Olson, Senior Advisor to The Lincoln Project, joins for the second time this week. Having worked in presidential campaigns, he has a unique insight on what moves both the Trump and Biden campaigns may take. Finally, we welcome Charles Franklin, Director of the Marquette Law School Poll to talk about how this verdict may affect the numbers.
