The Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII! Unfortunately, this huge event distracts from some political weekend news. Donald Trump made two comments that demonstrate his unpatriotic nature and his lack of knowledge on international affairs. Todd plays these statements before taking your calls.
Firstly, regarding NATO, members are encouraged to spend at least 2% of their GDP on defense. Donald Trump said that if a country doesn’t pay, he would encourage Russia to “do whatever the hell they want” to that country. Clearly, he understands this policy as if it was a country club membership fee rather than an international alliance.
Additionally, Trump insulted an active duty service member. He attacked Nikki Haley’s husband, insinuating that his absence is due to marital issues and not active deployment. Haley retorted that those who do not respect the sacrifice of military members are undeserving of driver’s licenses, let alone holding elected office.
