October 22nd, 2026, and the morning after the one and only debate that we will witness between the Democratic nominee for Governor David Crowley and his GOP counterpart, Tom Tiffany.

I did listen to my colleagues program and I did hear some of the clips in which David Crowley stayed on message.

David Crowley turned this into an actual debate.

where when the Democrats were on that stage during that crowd or primary, that was more of a forum or a town hall in which you saw all of those Democratic candidates essentially agree with each other for the most part on all of the issues and the topics.

This was much different.

This was David Crowley standing on his record.

And this was Tom Tiffany attempting to do so, albeit poorly.

So I want to level set here because there are some folks that you may engage with after that debate.

And if you're a Democrat and if you're a Crowley supporter or if you're just an anti-Trump person, it seems like David Crowley simply ran away with that debate.

Not was David perfect.

No.

Also note that David did not necessarily answer each and every question because he would take some of his time and debate was only an hour and he would challenge Tom Tiffany directly and David Crowley was on offense and he would talk about the Epstein files and talk about the

close connection between Tom Tiffany and the billionaires and Donald Trump.

He was supposed to do that.

Now, what you're going to see is those who are Republican faithful that no matter how well David performed and no matter how prepared David Crowley was, there are some Republican faithful that are just not going to be able to comprehend the fact that David Crowley even could have won that debate.

That is how deep the bias is.

Sometimes we refer to things like unconscious bias Some folks that watched that conversation last night have very Conscious bias and so stop trying to convince people that believe that David Crowley didn't answer the questions or he didn't perform There's a few things I want to throw in because I have to like give a different Perception of this because otherwise it just seems too easy and cut and dry now.

Nothing is ever easy and cut and dry

David was prepared Tom Tiffany wasn't and that's not some kind of an accident because the original debate was supposed to take place the first week or somewhere around the 7th or 8th of October and there was a quote-unquote schedule conflict or Whatever excuse we got from the Tiffany campaign.

So that's actually something that is happening this cycle ladies and gentlemen Republicans all over the country.

I've got a list.

I love lists.

I love them

Because they give example after example after example Republicans are not debating Democrats this election cycle.

They're refusing to debate them all over the country in seats in which Republicans Chances of winning is hanging in the balance.

They are refusing to debate all over the country and when they do debate They look and they sound very much like what we saw last night the Democrat

has the most to prove the Democrat has got to be on point when they talk about policy and taxing and spending.

The Democrat has got to have policy positions on immigration and has to have policy positions on data centers.

Republicans don't.

They don't have to have those policy positions.

Let me tell you why, because Republicans have gotten where they have gotten because they think that a cohort of people in this country are stupid and they're right.

You don't have to have policy position.

You don't have to talk about the economy You don't have to bring up the war and gas prices You don't have to talk about any of that because in these days and times with our broken politics I'm gonna illustrate to you how broken our politics are because Republicans don't even have to respect their voters They don't have to they don't have to prepare.

They don't have to have details on policy Tom Tiffin gave no detail on anything when they asked him the congressman respectfully

Why he refused to certify the 2020 election dude said zucker bucks How stupid do you think your voters aren't the answer is very So I did a little researching on some zucker bucks and I'm over here trying to pay my mortgage with some zucker bucks All you have to be

When you are running as a Republican in this country right now in this midterm election cycle where Donald Trump is the president and the Republicans and or MAGA control the House of Representatives including the Speaker of the House who is a MAGA faithful and the Republicans have a majority in the US Senate All you have to be is anti DEI anti affirmative action

anti-immigrant Pro-religion Pro-gun and essentially anti-vaxx.

That's it That's it.

You don't need to explain policy positions on anything else You don't need to tell the American people how you're going to improve their situation because Republicans are not here for that They are here to be a stopgap against a country that is diversifying rapidly when Democrats are competitive in the US Senate in Texas

and in Mississippi.

And Republicans are simply refusing to debate.

They're not here to debate.

They're here to just be the stopgap between all of these brown people taking over.

And of course, the Republicans are going to be election deniers.

Tom Tiffany is going to deny the results of this election, unless he wins.

So there's a phenomenon that is happening right now, and it's not just in Wisconsin and Tom Tiffany agreeing to do this debate not even sure why he did it quite honestly he Tom Tiffany would have been better off just running commercials instead of actually Having that debate all the clips and the soundbites are burying that man's campaign There's a subsection of people they don't watch debates.

That's usually for the party faithful

That's usually for the people who are already committed.

Nobody watches the debate, especially this late in the game.

The election is in 12 sleeps.

Nobody watched that debate and went into it.

I really don't know who I'm going to vote for.

Let me see how the candidates perform.

Maybe a tenth of a percent of the people that watch that genuinely went into it with an open mind.

But how can you have an open mind when you oftentimes have an empty wallet?

People already know who they're going to vote for.

They know which direction they want to move in.

They know that what the Republicans have been doing is not working for them economically.

But the clips and the soundbites, I got a couple of them here.

I don't know if I want to play them.

Y'all have been clipped and soundbited to death.

You're probably going to get more clips and more soundbites.

I don't know.

I might play a little couple of you.

I know Xavier probably has 78,000 of clips and sound bites over in the producer's studio.

I got a little couple of few that I might play, but what's the point?

David was prepared because the Democrats have to be the other party that is not in power right now for a variety of reasons, but Republicans didn't have to prepare for any debate because they are standing behind Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is supposed to lead the way.

Donald Trump and his policies, when it comes to immigration, when it comes to law enforcement,

when it comes to data centers, whatever it is, every single Republican, even though Republicans are running locally in congressional races, they're running statewide in gubernatorial races, they're running statewide in center races, they're not even necessarily making their campaign platforms about what is happening in those localities and in those states.

They're simply following Trump and look at where it's getting them.

They can't debate because if if Republicans were actually going to have legitimate debates on the issues, they would be pushing back on every single thing that Donald Trump said and did.

Have you guys seen the latest audio clip of Donald Trump talking about a man's ass and going in great detail?

Like Trump has lost his complete mind like Trump has dementia.

And an entire political party is following this man.

It's.

So David perform well he did but David had to for a number of reasons because Democrats don't have any credibility Which is unusual, but they're not in power anywhere, right?

Democrats lost the election in 2024 that is where the Democrats stand.

They are a party that cannot compete with MAGA.

They can't Mostly on the social issues that I named before their anti-immigrant.

They think that every immigrant is getting free health care What's some of the other nonsense that they think we're cheating in the elections.

We're registering

dead people to vote like that is where the republicans are they don't need to explain any economic stuff trump is here for the grift and what republican legislators and members of the senate and the house of representatives when they're running for reelection they basically stay within the frame of we don't want these immigrants coming over to this country illegally and committing all these crimes you have a whole bunch of voter fraud so when you are a republican running for office that is

That is what you tell your voters.

You scare your voters into thinking the big bad boogie man of DEI and affirmative action is the reason why you and your family are poor.

No, you and your family are poor because Donald Trump has ruined the economy and Donald Trump has made as of today something like four billion dollars off of the backs of American taxpayers.

Republicans can't debate that.

But what they are doing and they're standing in the social issue of black people are bad, brown people are bad, immigrants are coming over here and they're going to murder you and they're probably going to take your daughter to prom.

So they're like oh no no look over here.

Don't don't look at the economy Don't look at gas prices.

Don't look at the war immigrants are gonna come and murder you and they're gonna vote twice and they're taking all of the health care serious the immigrants Republicans legitimately think that their voters are stupid and I'm gonna tell you why cuz some of the people that are in office right now in this country That are running as republicans are really really smart people.

They are Some of them are lawyers.

Some of them are political scientists.

They're not dumb, but they think their voters are

And it's it's a shame.

So I'm take break.

Come back.

We have a YouTube poll question.

Don't even know why I'm asking it because I feel that the people that listen to this program have a little bit of political bias.

Simply asking, who do you think won the debate?

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley or Tom Tiffany.

When I come back, I'm going to tell you about my debate watching experience.

I went and watched it at the Cooperage.

Probably should have stayed home so because you can't hear anything Because David would say some stuff and everybody would cheer Like the Packers scored a touchdown so I couldn't hear Couldn't hear anything and plus if you get a bunch of Democrats together For the same purpose of watching their candidate

Debate a Republican and Republicans across the country are not prepared to debate because they have nothing to debate.

Don't forget.

I'm gonna give you a list But Democrats get together they become like a cult, you know, it was kind of weird because I'm not I mean I vote for Democrats, but I'm not in the cult So take a break come back continue our conversation.

That's why you joined efforts to disqualify hundreds of thousands of absentee ballots in Milwaukee and Dan County's was like her bucks Yes, because of what happened there when there was more What an idiot Republicans don't have to prepare for debates because they don't have anything to debate.

They don't have a leg to stand on

GOP has created a brand, and I think you know what it is.

It is anti-immigration, it is anti-diversity, it's anti-affirmative action.

They have made that abundantly clear.

But also, they are branded as being exceptionally loyal to Donald Trump.

And you know who Donald Trump is.

He, in fact, is a 34 times felon that can't even practice business anymore in his home state of New York.

Donald Trump, who wants to eliminate voting by mail, but is voting by mail in every single election, there's a hypocrisy there.

And when your political party is built on a hypocrisy and built on xenophobia and built on racism, you can't debate anybody.

A debate is here are my ideas.

Here's how these ideas are going to translate into a better life for the people that support me and my party They can't do that because they have had the entirety of the federal government and ladies and gentlemen Look where we are.

I'm not trying to convince you of how things are going in this country right now.

You see it now.

Here's the

Sad part there are some folks who are suffering and they are struggling But here's what they believe and this is why they're still gonna vote for Republicans across the country And some of these elections are gonna be landslides and some of them you're gonna wonder why was it was as close as it was as David Crowley performed last night I think he did a great job.

He wasn't perfect, but he was good enough He was at least respectful of the people that were listening that took the time out of their evenings to listen by preparing

When you are in front of a microphone and or a camera really for any purpose You owe the people that are giving you their time and their attention to be prepared Tom Tiffany didn't even do that He didn't even respect the people that took time out of their evenings Maybe rearrange their schedules to listen to what he actually had to say.

He was completely and totally ill-prepared

And that's it's an embarrassment, but also shows you where we are with our politics and they were the Republicans.

They don't have to prepare.

They don't have to.

They have been.

Denying and refusing debates all over the country.

As of October 22nd, 2026, the following contest have been reported as involving a Republican who declined, avoided.

Or did not agree to a debate with a democratic nominee ladies and gentlemen, this is all over the country And you're all very smart people that listen to this program except for a couple of you in the YouTube chat that Are glutton's for punishment because I don't know what you were expecting to hear from me if you're a Republican or a Tom Tiffany supporter But this is not gonna be a show of mind that you're gonna like They cannot debate

They have nothing to say because everything they have to say can be refuted Instantaneously by something Trump said something Trump did something Mike Johnson did in fact you gotta think about this for a second talk about a lack of productivity Let's just keep it on the mirrors.

Let me take partisanship out of it this for a second.

Okay

Sherwin Hughes

The only piece of legislation that Donald Trump has signed in two years of being in office and having full control of the federal government is the big beautiful bill.

Now, it's been a total disaster, but I need you to think about this.

If you have Republican control of the House of Representatives and the U.S.

Senate and the presidency and the U.S.

Supreme Court, meaning they can pass a bill, have it signed by Trump, and here's what's crazy.

The bill could be unconstitutional and they still could get a pass from the U.S.

Supreme Court and they've only passed one bill.

You understand if the Democrats had power like that and they only pass one bill people would never vote for a Democrat ever again the whole point of having your party control the whole of the federal government is you can make an indelible stamp on America and American progress and American exceptionalism Do you think that America is exceptional right now?

Do you think that we're making American progress right now?

This is simple.

Yes or no

And if you believe that answer is no, you only have one political party to blame.

They could be passing legislation left and right and the Democrats couldn't say anything about it.

Now there's some stall tactics that the Democrats could probably employ.

They can slow some things down.

They can slow down a couple of nominations, but they can't stop anything.

And with all of that power, they have chose to ignore the economy and ignore the pocketbooks of the American people.

explicit refusals or reported decisions not to debate Tennessee governor Republican Marsha Blackburn Democrat Jerry Green status explicitly declined proposed debates greens campaign offered four dates and Blackburn's team said it would not give them a platform source Fox 17 Nashville Alabama governor Republican candidate Tommy Tuberville

Democrat Doug Jones status reportedly opted against debating Jones explaining that there was little reason to argue over their differences.

Their differences are literally the direction of the United States of America.

I'm not done.

This is a nationwide phenomena.

And the reason why Tom Tiffany performed so poorly is the reason why Republicans are not debating Democrats all over the country.

They feel like they don't have to because they think that their voters are dumb.

And to an extent you kind of have to be.

If you're willing to suffer and lose your health care because they're gutting Obamacare and a lot of people are using it and they're even gutting the state exchanges where the federal government provides resources so that states can provide health care to people that qualify for it.

They're gutting that too.

And if you have a cohort of people in this nation that can't eat, can't afford life and they're losing their health care and the reason why they are still supporting the people that did that to them is because they think that the Mexicans are going to send back, then you're dumb.

You're you are I can't I'm not gonna sit here and be nice to people that are dumb because you're ruining the country because you think That's some other group that you despise.

Maybe it's black people to have college degrees Maybe who knows some Mexican woman that came over here 42 years ago and as a business owner you want her to go back to Mexico because for some reason she started a business and you can't

If you are willing to harm yourself and your family and ignore this economy and ignore the lies and ignore the war and ignore all of that else, all those other things, because you want to harm somebody else, you're not an American to me.

You're a disgrace.

And you deserve what you get.

Here's the problem.

You're dragging everybody else down with you.

Georgia governor Republican candidate Jack Johnson Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms status declined the Atlanta press clubs gubernatorial debate invitation Bottoms appeared at the event without him.

That's what Democrats should do because the Republicans are not debating because they can't and in fact they're probably being told not to because in the era of social media if a Republican does decide to debate a Democrat, I think the only reason why Tom Tiffany even

Did this debate because he could have denied this one too had Tom Tiffany denied this debate He just would have fallen in line with every other Republican all over the country that's refusing to or opting out of Debating Democrats.

There's a period of time where they love to debate each other.

They loved it when Donald Trump said this tone you guys remember in 2024 when you had

It was a Republican primary.

In fact, that's when I interviewed Marjorie Taylor Greene.

She came to Milwaukee ahead of the first GOP primary debate.

This was in the fall of 2023.

Donald Trump refused.

He didn't debate anybody and ended up winning the Republican nomination.

Do you remember that?

That is the path that they are on right now because Donald Trump would have nothing positive to say.

He didn't want to get on a debate stage.

And so guess what?

Republicans are following suit.

The problem is.

When you're running for the House of Representatives or governor or the U.S.

Senate, people need to hear from you.

These candidates, these Republican candidates running for Senate, running for the House and running for governor, you all are not Trump.

You actually have to talk to voters.

You actually have to defend your record.

The only reason why, and I don't have any advanced knowledge of this, why Tom Tiffany even agreed to this debate is because he thought that David Crowley would be an easy win.

Tom Tiffany embarrassed himself and the social media clips that are circulating.

Oh, I know he's regretting I posted something on Twitter last night I said Tom Tiffany gonna cry in the car because his team was probably like Tom you're gonna beat him and David Crawley's unprepared He's just a black guy from the 5 3 2 0 6 David Crawley showed you right didn't he?

The Texas Tribune reported on October 7th that the Republican nominees in several major statewide races had ignored or failed to accept Democratic debate invitations.

These cases are best described as unaccepted invitations or apparent avoidance.

Ken Paxton running for the U.S.

Senate in Texas.

That's actually a national race when you think about it.

The Democratic candidate James Tallarico.

reported status had not accepted debate invitations despite earlier indications of willingness.

That means that Ken Paxton was, I think Ken Paxton is like a felon too.

I think he's like a criminal.

He's got some stuff in his background.

I think Ken Paxton said, oh yeah, I'll debate the liberal, pro-transgender James Tallarico, even though James Tallarico really isn't any of those things.

But I'll bet you Ken Paxton was told not to.

Don't, don't debate him.

Because it's gonna be worse because the Democrats are hungry and they're prepared.

Greg Abbott running for governor of Texas the Democratic challenger Gina, you know HOSA campaign had not publicly agreed to debate you know HOSA Dan Patrick running for lieutenant governor Vicki Goodwin Democratic nominee urged a debate Republican this is all in Texas Republican campaign did not respond to the newspapers request for a debate

Florida US Senate race Republican candidate Ashley Moody Democrat Angie Nixon Moody the Republican declined to debate with Nixon according to Florida Public Radio reporting Moody said she did not want to give Nixon a platform I'm taking break coming there's a whole bunch of these so I just want folks to have an understanding that Tom Tiffany performing poorly

Is how all Republicans would likely perform if they were agreeing to debate Democrats in these contests all over the country and look what's at stake If you were opting not to debate your opponent When everything is online this goddamn country is at war Not just a war in the Middle East

But a trade war and a tariff war and the political party that is responsible for responsible for the prices and the inflation and the gas prices is Refusing to debate the Democrats that are running for office that should tell you everything that you need to know and sadly if you're a Republican voter The party that you support does not respect you like they don't even want to share with you your you know their own base of people how they're going to improve the economy because they're not

Going to and I know that you all don't want to hear that from me But I'd rather tell you than have you find out the hard way take a break come back Continue our pleasant little conversation if you haven't done so already Go to youtube.com Or open up your YouTube app from your smartest phone or other mobile device Search one on one seven the truth and hit subscribe and you'll have a couple options there

These are decisions that need to be made between a patient and a...

health care provider, and these aren't decisions that are made likely.

The reason why we are asking for this constitutional amendment is because you have folks like Congressman Tom Tiffany who celebrated the fall of Roe v. Wade.

Women are holding their breath every four years just to make sure that they can get access to the care to protect themselves, and we need to make sure that we're doing exactly that.

Sherwin Hughes

Tom Tiffany then goes on to say,

ladies, if I'm governor, you

Sherwin Hughes

don't have to hold your breath.

You should see some of the online clips that were made by women after Tom Tiffany put his whole foot in his mouth This is why Republicans are refusing to debate Democrats all over the country because they are in fact unprepared to do so because they have no policy legs to stand on they allowed to let Donald Trump grift the country see there was a there was an agreement that was made and some of these members of the House in the Senate they have

They have their own career trajectories.

Maybe they want to get into lobbying Maybe they want to get some kind of an appointment or an ambassador ship in the Trump administration.

So there was a deal that was made Donald Trump will Will allow and permit some of the judge nominees to go through in the wish list and bringing money home to the districts of some of these Republican candidates or these Republicans members of the house in order to let Donald Trump do whatever it is He wants to do and ignore him and here's the other thing

They will allow these Republican members of the House and the U.S.

Senate rights to bring resources home and to do all sorts of things for their pet projects and invest in police or whatever the priorities are there.

With the promise they do not investigate Donald Trump, they turn a complete blind eye.

But here's the thing, the American people got screwed.

And there is a political party.

Now I'm not saying the Democrats are perfect, they clearly are not.

They went too far on a handful of issues that may have cost them the election in 2024.

The Democrats got a little bit too woke and then they realized the woker you get, the fewer voters that you have supporting that agenda.

The woke stuff needs to stay local.

You can't make it a national platform because America is still a center right country.

America's still a country that's concerned about money and the economy and jobs and all that other stuff.

That is where the Democrats need to be.

If you want to go further to the left, you have to do that stuff locally.

There's a place for democratic socialists and very liberal people in our politics on like the county board on the common council.

Maybe you get a lefty super woke person like on a school board running for the U.S.

Senate in the House of Representatives.

Absolutely not running for the presidency, probably even worse.

Tough pill for some of the Democrats to swallow, but you know.

Yeah, this is.

This is where we're at right now in this country.

WISN News hosted on Wednesday the only debate between Democratic candidate David Crowley and Republican candidate Tom Tiffany in the race to become Wisconsin's next governor.

WISN 12 News political director Matt Smith and upfront co-host Geron Jordan moderated the debate which covered the cost of living, taxes, education, data centers, immigration enforcement, election security, abortion.

Marijuana legalization both candidates said affordability is a central concern, but they offered different approaches Tiffany proposed cutting income taxes for middle-income households eliminating tax on tips and overtime and ending what he called the 400 year property tax increase Republicans are trying to bribe That's really what they've been doing.

Isn't that a central theme that you guys have noticed?

We're going to cut all these taxes.

If you make X amount of money, you're not going to pay any taxes.

No taxes on tips.

We're going to cut all the taxes.

No one's going to pay taxes.

Oh, we're going to give you $5,000 for this.

We're going to give you $2,000 for that.

They think you're stupid.

Why?

Why am I getting angry?

Because I know this.

I know exactly what they are doing.

I'm just I'm heartbroken that the people that are being harmed don't realize that an entire political party thinks you're dumb.

Because the people that are doing this That are creating these policies that are hurting the American people because you think the Republican elected officials don't hear from their constituents You think that they don't see the joblessness and the hopelessness you think the Republicans don't see the high gas prices You think that they don't see the inflation some of these Republican men in particular have wives that do the shopping And their wives might be saying to their Republican elected husband yo

Getting expensive out here to buy all the groceries shut

up shut up woman Shut up and don't you dare try to get an abortion If

Sherwin Hughes

you believe That the political parties Are the same because there's still some folks that believe that can I just put that to rest and so those of you That know that that isn't true that there are major major differences in every measurable category

The platforms of these parties and their priorities are very, very different.

But when you hear somebody say that the parties are the same, here's what I want you to know about the person that's saying that.

They are so intellectually lazy that they don't have the intelligence to decipher.

That's exactly what they're telling when they say, oh, both of the parties are the same.

That's them saying that they're so intellectually dim that they can't tell the difference.

Now when someone tells me especially in these days and times that they're not gonna vote and they're gonna try and sell me on why they're not going to vote I don't think it they have any real reason other than the fact that I don't think they can read if You can't read because the ballot is complicated especially with the referendum that are on there if you can't read a ballot is a nightmare because it's complicated There's descriptions.

There's disclaimers.

Some of the stuff is in different languages.

It's got two sides to it

If you are at the average grade level, reading grade level of an American, a ballot will terrify you and you would rather say something like all these parties are the same or they're all, you know, they're all grifting us.

You know, there's all this corruption in politics because I've heard every excuse under the sun as to why people are not going to vote and I have reduced it to this.

They're illiterate and I'm not shaming illiterate people, but also ladies and gentlemen.

If you have what 85-90% of our school children right now, third grade and eighth grade standardized tests that are dramatically below grade level when it comes to reading, they will get promoted to the next grade and not know how to read.

Know what that means?

They're going to graduate from high school and be illiterate.

And when you're a graduate from high school, you're 18 years old or 19 years old.

You are now a voter.

Think about if you didn't learn how to read in third grade that promoted you to fourth grade, fifth grade, sixth grade, seventh grade, you get to high school, you go through high school and you never caught up on grade level on how to read.

You're not going to be a voter.

I've often hit my head against the wall and wonder why African American voter participation, especially in Milwaukee is so low.

We're lucky if we get 55 percent.

And in an election, where literally everything is at stake, including people's lives, their health care, reproductive freedom for women, the economy, a war, and still 50% of our people are not going to vote, that's because they cannot read.

Let's talk to East Side Corrie on one-on-one, seven to truth.

How are you?

I'm doing great, man.

Much better than Monday.

So I apologize for all that wham, wham, wham.

But I was just moved by yesterday.

Uh, Dr. Crawley looking all spiffy, sharp and ready.

His shiny self.

I was like, oh, well, in this case, I'm all the way black.

I don't care what

you

say.

Let's

just do this, okay?

And he was prepared.

Like you said, and he looked, he looked downright presidential.

I was like, oh, well, go ahead, boy.

His suit

was gorgeous.

I don't know where he got that suit from, but that suit was fitted.

Can we talk for a minute?

Can we talk

for a minute?

First of all, because I know you know some good material and some good tail is up in here.

That's a Chicago cut by way of New York City.

That material, you can only get in New York.

I'm sorry.

He went gangsta on that suit.

Okay.

It's got the double, double, double, stitchery.

That's that.

Oh, that's that white supremacist, stitchery honey.

That's all German, stitchery girl.

Yeah.

And he was so handsome, his glasses, his presentation.

He was intelligent.

I just fell in love with the guy.

I was like, go ahead, boy.

Do it.

Go ahead with your black self.

And be black, please.

Sherwin Hughes

Wow.

Thank you for your, yes, that was a great analysis.

That was... Oh, let's do this.

You go, girl.

Why not?

I mean, I'm tired of color orange.

Okay, let's go black to blue black.

I say blue black to blue black.

Blue black babies

all the way

You know Wisconsin just to see the expression on their face That's what I'm here for and and I just afford that That's them So I'm on the same page and I would approach it out.

Sorry put all of I didn't but you know I fell for it, but you know sucking it twice fucking me three times Let me hang up before I cut.

Sherwin Hughes

Yeah, don't cuss

That's when full gay on that phone call, but I it's fine.

Well, you know that fellow.

East Side Corey.

I think he voted for Trump in.

When do we turn him?

We might have turned him in 2024.

I'm not entirely sure, but he's a. Was a Republican.

We have a number of gay black Republicans that call this show.

I don't know what the hell.

Or we'll have people that don't see the difference.

I get it, though.

I get it.

If someone says, oh, I don't see the difference between Democrats and Republicans.

And if they are still maintaining that to this day, then those are probably the same people that don't see a difference between a man and a woman because the contrasts are just that strong.

If you line up, not just the Republican policies, or what they say they're going to do, but what they've actually done, and then you line up Democratic policies, not what they say, but what they've actually done, there's some pretty significant differences on every issue, healthcare, reproductive rights.

Tariffs taxes supporting middle-class families as opposed to very very wealthy people and to say that there's no difference between the two is like looking at a naked woman and a naked man say

I don't I don't see any difference The man has His stuff is on the outside it dangles a Ladies is tucked away.

It's just if you can see a little bit

Just

Sherwin Hughes

a little peaks.

The man is you protrudes in the lady.

It's so it's in there somewhere.

You have to go and find it.

It's hiding away.

And to say that you see no difference is ludicrous and absurd.

he cut a trillion dollars for Medicaid Medicare and he didn't he didn't extend the Affordable Care Act of subsidies that so many farmers are relying on and seeing them premiums double

Sherwin Hughes

Well, there you go Cutting your Medicare and Medicaid There's a a lot of conversation about

Taxes and taxes have been on the rise in Milwaukee That is a result of a Republican control legislature that has not given Milwaukee Its amount of shared revenue that it rightfully deserves so Milwaukee Brings in a lot of money think about all the people that live here all the houses in I'm gonna do the whole county

All the houses in Milwaukee County probably have 500 600,000 dwellings in Milwaukee County that are paying property taxes privately owned Buildings single-family homes duplexes apartment complexes.

Okay now think about all the people that work in Milwaukee and are making wages and making salaries Our state income tax is 6% So think of all of the people million people in Milwaukee County most of whom are employed all paying at minimum 6%

In state income taxes not think of all the people that come to Milwaukee They come to Bucks games a lot of people are gonna be here for brewers games They come to go out to eat they come to concerts shows people come to Milwaukee They get hotel rooms people come to Milwaukee and they rent cars There's taxes on all of those things that I just mentioned people come here and they shop There's taxes.

There's sales taxes being paid on all of those things so billions and billions of dollars are collected from people that live in

pay property taxes, shop in, go to stores and go to shows in Milwaukee.

State government gets all of that money, plus the money from all of the travel and tourism and all of the property taxes from the other 72 counties.

But because Milwaukee is so big, we collect a lot more money and send more money to Madison.

What they give us back is pennies.

And here's what the Republicans doing.

Democrats need to understand this.

The Republicans will withhold.

Millions if not billions of dollars that Milwaukee should get in return It's not we're not asking for all of the money that we here in Milwaukee send to Madison through sales taxes property taxes hotel taxes car rental We're not asking for all that that hell give us 15% of it back because we then can take that 15% And we can invest it in places in spaces that can make Milwaukee better safer stronger Etc.

But Republicans don't do that.

They starve this city of resources and here's what happens

They starve the city of resources.

We still have to have the garbage picked up.

We still have to plow the snow It's still very expensive to fund our police department or fire department But when the Republicans that control the Madison legislature are putting together the budget they starve Milwaukee on purpose and what do people in the city of Milwaukee do especially those who are not politically astute they blame the Democrats the Democrats have got to get revenue some kind of way now remember the Democrats are not the political party that's in power the Republicans are

And if you think for a second that the Milwaukee Common Council can wrestle more money away from a Republican-controlled state Senate and a state assembly, you do not know how politics works.

When they did the negotiations to raise the sales tax here in the city of Milwaukee, Robin Voss made it abundantly clear to Cavalier Johnson and anybody else who listens, the assembly always wins.

That's how Robin Voss started the negotiation.

So if you starve Milwaukee of money, money that we are paying in,

to state government and then they create a budget and we get some of that money back.

In fact, David Crowley brought it up last night that Tom Tiffany's hometown got a 300% increase in shared revenue.

You know what Milwaukee got?

10%.

But Tom Tiffany is a Republican and Republicans control state government.

So of course the Republicans are going to give Republican towns and conservative towns that vote for Republicans a larger amount of shared revenue because the whole point is you starve Milwaukee.

Let me be abundantly clear for those of you that are listening.

If Hazelhurst, Wisconsin can get a 300% increase in shared revenue, which they did, where do you think that money came from?

Do you think that Hazelhurst is some beacon of travel and tourism?

Hell, I don't even know where it is.

Their increases in shared revenue came off the backs of Milwaukee taxpayers and people that came to our city to spend their money.

And the Republicans in these small towns are essentially welfare cities.

because they couldn't have roads, bridges or schools.

If it wasn't for the money that Milwaukee brings in, you take that to the bank, go Google that, then chat GPT.

They are a political party that has taken advantage of Milwaukee's economic successes, but then starve Milwaukee so that Milwaukee has to raise its taxes.

And what are the voters in Milwaukee do?

They obviously get hit, but it's punishment for us being Democrats.

And then we have to raise taxes and you look at all the people that represent you locally and it's mostly Democrats.

And so the Republicans know that you're going to blame your local elected officials when taxes go up and you're not going to blame them because people don't see that connection.

That is why we are where we are.

And Tom Tiffany is an ultimate representation of that.

He did himself no favors by participating in that debate.

Donald Trump didn't debate in 2024.

For the same reason, because all you would do is make a complete and total fool out of yourself.

Because when it comes to being a Republican in these days and times, it is not about creating policy that's going to help people.

It's about creating policies that are going to harm folks that we are bigoted against.

Illegal.

You're listening to The Truth Was Sherwin Hughes, where meaningful conversations happen every day on the award-winning 1017 The Truth.

Sherwin Hughes

Welcome to our two of the truth with Sherwin Hughes.

I got my friend in studio.

Shondelin Reeves.

Hi, Shondelin.

How are you?

How are you?

I'm doing good.

I saw a thing on TV last night where a couple guys are running for governor.

One did a little bit better than the other, but that whatever.

We're not here to talk about that.

You're running for political office as well, aren't

you?

I am.

Sherwin Hughes

What are you running for?

I'm running for Wisconsin Assembly District 11.

I would like to represent myself and our people.

Sherwin Hughes

Can you give people rough boundaries of the 11th Assembly District?

Because I know when people hear the district number, they may not know where that is or if they live in that district.

So if you were to give some rough boundaries, what are they?

Well, it starts on Lincoln Creek Drive on the east.

To about 91st on the West West Hampton Avenue on the South Almost Bradley Road on the North

Sherwin Hughes

So a Northwest side Milwaukee district is there any Glendale in the 11th?

I know it's been changed and the boundaries have moved any Glendale in that district no Glendale, okay You have a series of ideas

and plans, which I want to get to in a second.

But if folks don't know who you are, you are.

Is it safe to call you an educator?

If I was to talk about your career, would you call yourself an educator first or something else?

An educator?

Okay.

Sherwin Hughes

Can you tell us about your background and why you would consider yourself an educator first?

Sure.

So I have served.

In public, private, charter, hire, and DPI education, I started off as a handicapped child assistant where basically I changed the diapers and I fed children who had disabilities.

Then I earned my associate degree and served as a peer professional, earned my teacher's license, I served as a special education teacher, teaching every grade from first grade through fifth.

Then I continued and I served sixth, seventh, and eighth grade special education.

After that, I became a high school assistant principal, a high school principal.

Then I became district administrator of Urban Day Schools, where we were able to increase student achievement from 30% of the students reading on grade level to 70% within three years.

After that, I served for Nessie, where we provided Title I, Title II reading and parent services to students who attended private schools.

After that, I served at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, where I was a director for teacher education, professional development and licensing, which is how teachers get their license.

And I supervised universities, teacher ed programs.

After that, having worked with Dr. Evers, he pulled me from DPI and appointed me as director of his Milwaukee office.

And even though that was-

Sherwin Hughes

Dr. Evers as in Governor Tony Evers.

Because I don't want people to think that you're talking about a different doctor even you call them doctor even.

Yes,

Sherwin Hughes

you work.

You led the governor's Milwaukee office.

I did.

Sherwin Hughes

Okay.

Yes.

And in as much as it was a political position, it was also an educational position because I educated the community about politics, about how to advocate to your elected officials.

I also educated elected officials about what people needed in Milwaukee.

And more so than anything else, I've been an advocate in all of those positions.

Sherwin Hughes

Believe it was 2021, right?

You ran for the Department of Public Instruction, super intended position, correct?

Correct.

As you should have, because anyone who knows you and they know anything about your background or your resume, you absolutely are an educator and you're a really, really smart woman.

So I have to ask the question.

Why would you want to run?

for political office with the resume that you have with the experience and education that you have.

This is not the time and you're running as a Republican, which I love you to death, Sean.

But this is if there's a bad time to run as a Republican,

you know what?

I love you too.

Listen, I was a Republican when I was a.

Teacher's assistant.

I've been a Republican my entire career.

I didn't know that I

Sherwin Hughes

never asked you either because I just

assumed because you know what that's why I don't ask it didn't matter it didn't matter when I was serving students parents teachers adults it didn't matter when I was serving governor evers it didn't matter

During the pandemic, when I advocated for money to come to Milwaukee, it didn't matter when during the George Floyd riots, I was up there on Miller Park, stopping the police.

It didn't matter then.

And so I am a Republican because it aligns more with my values.

But guess what?

I am a black woman first.

When you see me, you don't see Republican.

You see a black woman when I was struggling as a single parent.

No one cared that I was Republican when I was trying to make sure I could pay rent and put food on the table.

I am shondling.

I'm that same person you fell in love with when I ran for state superintendent.

I just happened to align a little bit more on the Republican side, but guess what?

I have served everyone.

Republicans, Democrats, independents, socialists, Tea Party, I have served everyone.

I know how to get along with everyone.

I have friends on both sides of the aisle and sure when you know better than anybody else.

Don't

Sherwin Hughes

bring

me into this.

Oh, you're

Sherwin Hughes

in

it.

I know, but why not an independent?

Because the independence don't even listen.

We have an independent runner for governor

Sherwin Hughes

here.

Yes.

I know that.

Yes.

And he can't get David King.

David

Sherwin Hughes

King.

Oh, Lord have mercy.

Not him.

Listen.

Oh,

Sherwin Hughes

not on

the ballot.

Not.

No, I'm saying.

Republicans are not respected.

We live in a two-party system.

Yes.

If you're not a Democrat or Republican, you don't exist.

And we have a lot of people who are guarding opportunity, who live with a sense of entitlement that just because you've had the position, you get to keep the position, even though you're not doing anything to change the outcomes of our people.

There are so many gatekeepers.

on both sides.

What we need is somebody who's going to come forth with a plan that is tied to existing funding so you can keep your hands out of my pocket.

We're paying too many taxes.

I'm not talking about who's the Democratic and who's Republican.

I'm talking about issues that impact District 11.

You yourself started this show.

Sherwin Hughes

Oh, yes, a

baby.

Sherwin Hughes

I'm going to

tell you why I'm bringing.

I have heard you say time and time again.

I am so tired of elected officials who are representing a district talking about everything except for what that district needs.

That's what I've done.

Fair enough.

Sherwin Hughes

I have said that.

All right, let's talk about you got some priorities for the 11th digit.

We'll keep it.

About the 11th district.

I wish people wouldn't remember all the stuff that I say and then come back and use it against me on my show because that's not fair, but all right You have a public safety neighborhood plan educational opportunities parental choice Let's talk about some of your ideas and your plans for the people of the 11th district.

So let's stay on education.

First of all, okay You know, I believe that there is nothing stronger that we could acknowledge that

than the parents have the right to choose for their child.

There's been a lot of talk about choice in every other arena.

We talk about women's choice.

We talk about choice of people who have alternative lifestyles.

We talk about the rights and the choices of people who want to use bathrooms.

We talk about all of that.

But the minute a parent says a tax paying parent, a parent who was paying state taxes, federal taxes,

City Milwaukee sales taxes County of Milwaukee sales taxes property taxes the minute they say I want to use public dollars to send my child to a private school.

We have the audacity

We say nothing when we take public dollars to pay for daycare.

We say nothing when we take public dollars to pay for birth to three programs.

We say nothing when we take public dollars to pay for grants for people to go to private colleges.

We say nothing when we take public dollars and we bail out airline companies and banks with public dollars.

We say nothing when we give public dollars to insurance companies that are for profit.

We say nothing.

about how we use public dollars in every other arena, other than education, where our black and our brown parents finally have an opportunity to say, I want to make sure that my child can read on grade level.

I want to make sure that my child has a teacher who cares.

I want to make sure that my child is going to a school where they're not going to be molested.

We had the audacity to open our mouths and speak against parents.

I am tired of parent blaming.

And I am tired of parents shaming.

And when I sit here, I'm telling you that is one of the main reasons that I am a Republican, because I am tired of this.

Sherwin Hughes

You're certainly more prepared than time, Tiffany.

The relationship between education, public safety, economic opportunity, housing and neighborhood stability.

How can you connect all of those things, Shondaland?

I can connect them because we need to have people who are speaking to people.

Listen, as I knock doors to gather my signatures, which I had to do 90% of the time by myself with my husband who had just got a hip replacement sitting in the truck watching me.

I listen.

People have said to me, I'm tired of the potholes.

I'm tired of calling my elected officials and nothing happened.

I'm tired of the north side of Milwaukee getting flooded.

I'm tired of the lights being out in our neighborhoods.

I'm tired of no commercial areas.

I'm tired of Villard looking like a ghost town.

Silver Spring Mall, Tour Down, Mill Road, no commercial things there.

Good hope, nothing.

I'm tired of people getting on.

What do they call the thing downtown that's free?

Sherwin Hughes

The trolley.

The trolley for free, but my bus money goes up and you're cutting my routes.

You know what?

We are the people that we have been waiting for.

We have to stop waiting for a Democratic, a Republican or independent to open their mouths and knock on our doors and mobilize us to make the changes.

We need to make our own agenda.

We need to say this is what needs to happen.

And that's why through my door knocking and my communication, we have come up with the Community Wellbeing Initiative.

From that initiative, if you go on my website, you will find Assembly Bill drafts.

clearly connected to existing funding.

So nobody has to increase taxes.

This is what we need at District 11.

District 11 has had enough of not enough, not enough safe streets, not enough good schools, not enough commercial corridors, not enough good strong neighborhoods, not enough jobs, not enough grocery stores.

Don't get me going because I'll sound like my daddy preaching in a minute.

We need something different and I am the one and I'm going to tell you some Sherman.

I'm not a hater and I know what I'm going against chances are I'm going to lose this but I dare anybody who wins to pick up any of these acts and do something with it because now you don't have a you don't have an excuse.

I've given you a roadmap on how to make things better not just for District 11 but let's try the whole north side of Milwaukee.

Let's do something instead of talking about it.

Let's be about it and let's do it.

I don't even know

Sherwin Hughes

what Your policies and ideas are fantastic and I believe that they transcend partisanship but

One of the reasons why Milwaukee looks the way it does one of the reasons why we have been Starved of our fair share of shared revenue We have to raise taxes that we can't fill the potholes and we can't provide the services that Milwaukee residents need is because the Republicans have controlled the state Legislature and they have starved this city and what we do is we put the blame on our existing local elected officials like it's there for a

I'm not putting a blame on any one person.

I know better than most people what it looks like in Madison.

I was there when Governor Evers was fighting against the Republican control.

I was there.

Sherwin Hughes

That's

right.

Let's keep in mind here.

I was there.

I know better than anybody what it feels like.

I knew what it felt like when he was running DPI and we were up against Republicans.

But what's right is right and I'm going to tell you what matters.

There's an old saying that you catch more people with honey.

I have the ability to work with people across both sides of the aisle.

I have not shamed, blamed, cussed out, talked about or anybody else from either side of the aisle.

I bring a real plan that anybody should get behind and everybody can get behind.

It's not partisan.

You just said it yourself.

Sherwin Hughes

Gotta take a commercial break.

I gotta gotta get back into control here What's happening right now she's making sense, but she just Tom Tiffy didn't do well last night, right?

He didn't are you can you not say he didn't

I can say listen.

Sherwin Hughes

No,

he did.

Sherwin Hughes

All right,

and we could we

Sherwin Hughes

could probably a nice guy, isn't he?

He's nice at least

I served under David Crawley in this office of Africa

Sherwin Hughes

What's gonna pause I need to relax you were listening to the truth with

Sherwin Hughes, my in-studio guest, Dr. Shondelin Reeves.

She's running for the Wisconsin State Assembly.

That election is coming up.

It's with the rest of the elections.

You know what the elections are.

I tell you about the elections every day.

She's running as a Republican.

The truth with Sherwin Hughes will be right

back.

More thoughtful conversation is just ahead with The Truth with Sherwin Hughes on the award-winning 1017 The Truth.

The conversation continues with The Truth with Sherwin Hughes only on the award-winning 101.7 The Truth live on YouTube and 101.7thetruth.com

Sherwin Hughes

Welcome back to the program.

Dr. Shondelin Reeves is in the studio.

She's worked for David Crowley.

She said David Crowley's a nice guy.

She worked for Governor Tony Evers in a couple of different capacities, right?

At DPI and you served as the director of his Milwaukee office as governor.

And here you are, on my show.

Talking about your candidacy for the 11th Assembly District.

We have a lot of great ideas.

How do I know I got your ideas right here on this piece of paper?

But you're you're a Republican person, so you're The district is pretty Democratic though.

Can we agree on that?

It's a What was the last time a Republican do we know ran in the 11th?

I mean there's usually one that runs every couple

cycles

You speak a little closer to your microphone.

I'm sorry.

There we go.

There was one that ran a couple of cycles ago.

He wasn't successful.

Sherwin Hughes

Okay.

What are your expectations?

I mean, you got great ideas.

The policies are, it's great, but, but in the event that you win, the Democrats are performing pretty well just all over the place because.

A lot of Republican policies from the federal government on down have harmed a lot of folks and folks are saying, oh, I don't want to vote for Republicans.

So let's say you win and there's a Democratic majority in your chamber, which is the assembly.

How are you?

Because they're not going to listen to you, Sean.

Actually, I disagree.

Why are you soft spoken now?

He was yelling at me a second ago.

I'm telling you I disagree because many of them that are currently in office, I worked with when I worked with Dr. Evers.

Okay.

Many of them still send people to me.

I pick up the phone and it's someone that says, I got your number from dust and such.

I'm not going to name them because they know that I know what I'm talking about.

They know that I'm all about helping people.

It's not about me at all.

So we have people who sit in elected positions right now on both sides of the aisle that give out my my telephone number like government cheese.

And I get calls all the time, anything from place in my child in a group home to advocating for my special ed kid that's getting ready to be seen owed to how do I get this?

How do I handle this loan to my house is flooded and I can't get this done?

I get calls all the time.

I am that same shondling.

And I'm going to tell you something.

We need to be careful about putting people in boxes because of their partisan values, because what I find sometimes is I feel like when people put me in that box or they try to mistreat me because I'm a Republican, you might as well do the same thing because I'm black.

Racism, sexism, partisanism, if it clouds your ability,

to consider who the person is and what they stand for.

There's a problem.

I have nothing to do with the person that's in the presidency.

I don't vote Republican for everybody.

I vote for the best candidate.

If you remember 20 years ago, I sent you my rubric.

You remember that?

Sherwin Hughes

I don't know.

Yeah, you do.

I'll send it to you again.

I know you probably will.

So I sent a rubric on how I choose who I am going to vote for.

And what I do is I list what are the different issues that are most important to me.

And then I write down where does each candidate sit?

And I don't care what partisan you are.

If you are representing my issues, I'm voting for you.

That's where we have to get as a people because division does nothing but tear us down I'm gonna tell you something else that I know for a fact.

I have gone to Republican Republicans houses and there have been democratic election elected officials sitting there this whole circus

that people put on for us is for show.

Their kids are going to the same schools together.

Their kids are going to prom together.

Their kids are going to Martha's Viard together.

Their kids are living it up while we're fighting down here for scraps.

Listen, if you want to stay partisan,

you stay

partisan.

You do that, but I'm gonna tell you what.

I am

the best candidate.

I have issues that I have identified and I have solutions.

If you want something different, then you vote for Shondelin.

If you don't,

Continue to do what you do because what's the definition of insanity doing the same thing?

Expecting a different

outcome.

You don't have to like me, but you're gonna have to respect my mind You're gonna have to respect that I know what I'm talking about and I'm gonna like and love you anyway

Sherwin Hughes

There's a little bit of a difference in Being black which we clearly both are and very proud very proud and then

making a choice in your political affiliation and look and I get it because it's not fair that we get judged by the color of our skin and people don't know us.

They don't know our dedication and our commitments and our work ethic.

They'll look at us and they'll say, oh, that's a black person.

They

Sherwin Hughes

may think negative things.

But your party affiliation is.

is a choice.

That's what makes it so difficult.

We didn't choose to be black, but I say it this much.

I choose to be black every single time.

I wouldn't want to be nothing else.

You know what?

I would agree with that, but hurt.

Feels the same whether it's my choice or not.

No one has the right to hurt me because of a choice that I make.

No, you're you're correct.

But

Sherwin Hughes

just.

Great ideas.

It's just the way the system is set up and I know it's not a perfect

I'm not responsible for the system system was set up before I was born correct and it will continue to be set up after I'm dead But why

Sherwin Hughes

not?

Take the existing system whether we like it or not because sometimes you got to operate within the framework of it So I'll give you an example sheriff David Clark.

He was very conservative Republican guy, but he ran as a Democrat

And he got elected and he was still the same conservative not that you would do that because you're authentic exactly, but It's just it's hard for your great ideas unless okay, maybe you're running and the ideas that you have which are fantastic It do you give your ideas to if you don't win to the winner and you say hey I Came up with a great platform a lot of ideas will you implement these ideas?

Would you be willing to sit down with if you don't win?

the winner of the 11th assembly district race and say, hey, will you implement these ideas?

Are you willing to do that?

Absolutely.

And guess what?

They'll stay up on the website after the lecture.

I don't.

And I said, do you know

Sherwin Hughes

your opponent?

Like, do you know her personally?

I do know her.

I know her.

Is she mad at you for running against her?

I

get

Sherwin Hughes

mad sometimes.

I'm not sure that she's mad.

I believe that she is a spiritual woman.

I believe that she understands that we all have a calling and sometimes another person's calling might interfere with what you're doing

at the

end of the day, though.

Um, I believe because I've worked with her, I believe that she understands that this is not about me.

This is bigger to me and it's bigger than her.

And to answer your question, I told you a couple of weeks ago, you got a big billboard on villa.

I saw it.

I know I saw it.

It's beautiful too.

I couldn't afford a billboard.

So anyway, I told you a couple of weeks ago, I'm leaving all of these up because now you don't have an excuse.

If you didn't know how to write the bill, if you didn't know how to look at the research, if you didn't know how to align it to current funding, it's right there for you.

So if you don't pick it up and I'm not just talking about Shaquana, I'm talking about all of them.

If you don't pick it up and say, you know what, this makes sense.

Let's do this.

That's your fault

Sherwin Hughes

because your priorities and policy positions Are they make sense?

They're very smart.

In fact, they're Nonpartisan or they're they transcend partisanship.

So they're great.

I think they're fantastic.

I just hope you I Appreciate that.

We got a Republican online one and wants to talk to you black Republican.

Mr. Mahdi.

How are you?

Hey,

God bless.

I love you, brother.

Love you.

Love you, Dr. Reeves.

Thank God.

Thank God for you, sister.

I support you and I'm gonna reach out to you on your social media platforms.

If you need anything, I got you.

Thank God for you, sister.

You stand on business.

We support you.

All that smart Republicans because I'm a living witness that I'm 56 years old for the last 25, almost 30 years, Republicans.

have donated millions of dollars to me and my kids.

And there's a reason why I'm sitting in this situation.

I'm sitting and my kids got stock on Wall Street.

My kids has property in their names.

They're set for life.

I'm not voting for people that's against my business.

I'm voting for people that's going to look out for me and my kids in my future.

I love Professor Hughes and Dr. Reeves.

I'm going to reach out to you.

You need anything, baby.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

God bless you, sweetie.

Sherwin Hughes

So this my show this word of the black republicans unite is this what that's what I'm doing these days.

I might as well just

I Wouldn't say that I think you you're not matter fact sure.

No, you said you tell me what I do your night people across partisan lines Even if they don't agree with you you do that you give a voice to the voiceless you give a voice to people who don't even want to listen to us

So no, you you're not running a show.

That's one side or the other.

You do have very strong opinions.

It's very clear that it doesn't sit well for you that I'm running as a Republican.

But I mean, everything else is great.

I know I

Sherwin Hughes

just called you if he could give you a hundred thousand dollars, he absolutely would.

So that's another reason why I'm afraid.

Well, I appreciate you because you can see beyond your partisan beliefs sometimes and.

Could you let me talk?

And see that what I'm doing is for everybody.

At the end of the day, I have grandchildren that are here and I want Milwaukee to be better for everyone.

I want the north side to be better for everyone.

This is what this is about.

I am not going

for any one person or another person.

I am fighting for our survival.

We are in a very bad place.

And if someone doesn't stand up and say, this is what we need to do, here's a plan.

We've been talking about a black agenda for how long here is an agenda that will help black folks that live on the north side of Milwaukee.

Pick it up and do it.

Do it.

Please!

Sherwin Hughes

What about mayor?

You ever think about running for mayor?

Or like a non-partisan?

You know it's gonna be a kind of executive vacancy pretty soon, I think.

You ever think about?

No?

All right.

Why are you looking at me like that?

Those are positions where you'd be very good.

I think that your ideas could work well.

You don't want to run against Chevy.

Is Chevy your buddy?

Well, you don't really have.

I don't think that you would allow a friendship to prevent you.

From running for office if you believe strongly and if you are convicted in your policies, I think you'd run against me if I ran for office Wouldn't you?

You don't even care I

wish

Sherwin Hughes

I wish you would I wish We gonna grab a telephone call and then we How long are you here for?

Did they

tell you?

As long

Sherwin Hughes

as you want me here You're starting to make a lot of sense, but it Republicans don't make sense anymore

Well forget

I'm a Republican.

You really?

Okay.

Forget I'm a

Republican.

You didn't know before and it didn't matter.

You fell deeply in love with my mind.

You know what I saw?

I

Sherwin Hughes

went to, uh, oh my God.

Tori Lowe hosted a town hall with Senator Ron Johnson here at the Third Street Market Hall a couple of years ago.

and I walked in there was a night market going on so I was out having a good time because I'm you know having a couple of cocktails and I said you know what I'm about to crash Tori Lowe's town hall with Senator Ron Johnson

and I walked in it was all black people and you and your husband were in there too and and Meach was there I just saw a whole

Sherwin Hughes

bunch of I saw black people that I didn't even know

were Republicans and here's the part that really shocked me.

So Tory Lowe's on stage, where Ron Johnson and then there was a microphone that was being passed around to people in the audience and there was an individual who was assisting the audience with their questions because this person had the microphone.

You know who that person was?

Dr. Ken Harris.

God.

Sherwin Hughes

All right.

Who was this?

Somebody you have in the notes here angry.

This person online one is angry.

Who were they angry at?

They're angry at me.

Oh, well, we got to take a commercial break.

How angry am I going to have to like I got a fight because I you know what I mean?

I don't play.

Hey, all right.

It's about to angry Ron.

Be angry and shondling.

I'm over here doing the Lord's work.

Sherwin Hughes

number is a 3 3 2 1 2

101 7 8 3 3 2 1 2 101 so Dr. Shondelin Reeves is in the studio.

She's a black lady.

She's real smart.

She's got a PhD.

She does a lot of smart people stuff.

She's worked for Governor Evers in a couple of different capacities and even I believe worked with County Executive David Crowley.

She's running for the Wisconsin State Assembly.

The election is November 3rd.

Early voting is going on now through November 1st.

Let's talk to an angry, an angry Ron from the South side.

You're angry at me, Ron.

Go ahead.

Let me have it.

Everybody else is go ahead, Ron.

Thanks for taking my call.

You were posture.

You know, this can't be showing you.

You're in a posture.

There's no way in the world.

First of all, thank you to the to the guests for showing that today and say their position.

Welcome to the show.

But the real show would have corrected in fact checks.

The hypocrisy that you have said everything you said, ma'am, has been great.

It's been eloquent.

You have been kind.

So what you're mad at me for?

Because you're supposed to be checking this in.

You're going to be telling her that she's tethered herself.

She's tethered herself to a party that will kick her out of a rowdy just because she's the only black lady there.

You know, she has tethered herself to the county who's ran by Republicans who will not give the money up to have parents who want to send their kids to private schools just because they don't have the money for this and that, but they got money for everything else.

She's tethered herself to a party that has rape and molested children.

How do you negate everything you say beautifully?

When you say I'm Republican, you should might as well.

Well, I will say you should do.

But myself, I'm an independent because I can criticize the left and I can definitely criticize the right.

And this Republican Party, this Republican Party that you are saying you are part of is not Ronald Reagan's Republican Party, where everybody was working across the aisle.

You can work across the aisle.

But the people that control the power, they not willing to do that.

The debate last night was clear and cut quality was on message.

Tiffany was not.

And you hookin' yourself up with these people, like I said, that don't even let your kids go to the same school because they can't afford it and won't get the money so they can go to these private schools and work on the projects the plot holds and all the other stuff that she said, which is absolutely none of us stick away.

But you went to a party that don't like your black skin and you're fine with that.

And showin' the real show that when it's just on that.

Sherwin Hughes

I'm

a victim.

Thank you for takin' my call, bro.

Sherwin Hughes

over nothing, not even my own show.

An Xavier just sitting there.

You heard what he said, the Republicans will kick you out of a rally.

Well, I've been kicked out of better places.

And that's his opinion.

He's

Sherwin Hughes

entitled to it.

You got to answer for

everything.

There are some

Sherwin Hughes

things the Republicans are doing.

He's entitled to his opinion.

And I respect that opinion.

And I heard that opinion.

And I will reflect on that opinion.

I would like to say one thing though Republicans are the party who supports Parents having the ability to send their child to a school where they cannot afford to pay their tuition He

Sherwin Hughes

wouldn't end the parental choice program.

I know where David is on school choice He knows is a very important program for about 25 or 30,000 of our kids what the Republicans have done with choice.

I don't like it because I

Polly was one of my mentors and Polly wanted to create the program and create a program for poor black children to be able to afford the tuition and be able to go to a private school.

What the Republicans did is they removed all the income limits.

So you got white folks in the state of Wisconsin.

They're already affording their kids private school tuition.

Now they get to send their kids for free because they lifted the income limits.

All right.

OK.

Well, whatever.

I'm not going to disagree with what he said.

That's his opinion.

And fortunately, in America, you can still

Sherwin Hughes

have

your opinion.

Sherwin Hughes

You got to be able to challenge the Republicans when they say

so.

Oh, I challenge them.

This is not the place for me to challenge them.

Yes, it kind of is.

No, I'm going to tell you why it's not.

Why not?

Because the people who paid for me to come here are Republican, Democrats, and independents.

I'm representing everybody.

I'm trying to coalesce everybody.

So I'm not going to sit here and do that.

Sherwin Hughes

But the brand of the party that you are running as a part of is damaged.

I'm not here to fight for the party.

I'm here to fight for my people.

And that's where I'm going to stand at.

I am not the mascot for the Republican Party.

I am Dr. Shondelin Reeves, who lives in the 11th District, who has a plan to address the issues that are adversely impacting

residents in the 11th district.

No one is going to pigeonhole me into no certain circle or any place.

I am who I am proudly.

A black woman who is educated, a black woman whose grandparents were sharecroppers, the first black person in my family to go to college, a black woman who has been, who has experienced racism and sexism.

I didn't get where I got because I'm a Republican because nobody knew I got where I am because of hard work and I stand on that.

So I am not a mascot for anybody other than myself and my community.

My first priority is God.

My second priority is my family.

My third priority is my community and that's District 11.

I'm not going to get caught up in that.

because the longer we sit up and we have conversations back and forth about things we have no control over the worst things get for us.

I am giving you a platform to change things in District 11 and I'm standing on that.

I don't have time for this nonsense.

Not going to argue with you about what somebody is doing at the White House or who got kicked out of a damn rally.

I'm not trying to go to a rally.

I'm trying to make things better for District 11.

Leave it there.

Sherwin Hughes

When did you decide that you are going to be a Republican, even though you have worked for a Democrat?

Did you wake up one morning and say, yes, this is what I'm going to do?

Was it?

Did you maybe used to be a Democrat or used to be an independent or have you always been a Republican?

Take me through that.

My grandparents were shared croppers in Brownsville, Tennessee, and my granddaddy registered to vote.

My grandparents were sharecroppers in Brownsville, Tennessee and my grandparents registered to

Sherwin Hughes

vote.

Okay

My grandparents were Republicans that's a long time ago long time ago.

Okay, I Grew up as a preacher's daughter were very conservative views.

I am a conservative I am not a maga.

I'm not all of that.

I grew up very conservative.

I have beliefs about what is right and what is wrong

And when I put that on a Venn diagram and I put one party in one circle, another party in another circle, and I plug my beliefs in it, it's closer to the Republican Party.

I've been like this my entire life.

If you talk to people who knew me when I was on welfare catching a bus with my kids, they will tell you Shondelin is the same person she was then.

Nothing has changed me.

My education has not changed me.

My income has not changed me.

The opportunities that I have had have not changed me.

I am a conservative thinker.

I believe that people ought to have the right to make

choices that government should not interfere with that.

I believe government is too big.

Too much money is coming out of my pocket.

I believe that women have the right to do whatever it is that they want to do and no one should interfere with that.

I'm not there.

I could talk to you a whole day about my beliefs.

But suffice to say, in that Venn diagram, my core beliefs are closer to the Republican Party than a Democratic Party.

Do I have a problem with the Democratic Party?

No.

Half the people that I interact with, I don't know if they're Republican or Democrat.

When I go to the emergency room, I don't know if the doctor is a Republican or Democrat.

I want them to take care of me when I get on a plane.

Don't know if the pilot is a Republican or a Democrat.

I want them to make sure they land that plane safely.

Sherwin Hughes

All right, let's Talk to Lisa Did Joe Biden win the 2020 election who won the 2020 election?

Who won

it?

Sherwin Hughes

I don't know who I'm asking you who won I don't know who did who got more votes than the other person in 2020 was either Donald Trump or Joe Biden who who got more votes

Jobah.

Oh, he did.

Okay.

Hello, Lisa.

Joe Biden

did.

Dr. LaShonda.

Yes.

Sherwin Hughes

Dr. LaShondelin.

Don't don't don't try to say it.

Get

Sherwin Hughes

on with your comment.

I apologize, Dr. LaShondelin.

Thank you for being the respectable woman that you are whether you're a Republican Democrat or whatever Oh, you don't even vote.

It doesn't even matter Lisa you're gonna vote you're gonna vote for Okay, thank you dr. Shondelin you have a good day

Sherwin Hughes

No, you don't know you don't Lisa oh she hung up Lisa is not a voter, but she gonna call in thank you that the Shondelin that the Shanista

Mesh your name all up.

Thank you, doctor.

All

Sherwin Hughes

right, I gotta I think we're finished.

We're done You said everything you needed to say.

I think you only supposed to be here like 20 minutes.

I

Just want to really thank you because you've given me a distinct opportunity that I would not have otherwise You started this whole segment.

I'll talk about me being an educator

This campaign has been a platform for me to educate

I'm going to ask people, please go to my website.

Even if you don't agree with me, even if you hate me because I'm a Republican, go to my website and read what I have on there because it is a nonpartisan platform that we should embody and that we should fight for.

Thank you,

Sherwin Hughes

Sherwin.

All right.

Thanks, Sean.

Maybe.

So, mayor, county exec, you can run for like state treasurer, secretary,

state,

Sherwin Hughes

state superintendent, right?

There's, there's that one.

Okay.

Well, thank you for being here.

Appreciate you.

And good luck on the campaign trail.

Oh, sure.

When she sounds great, she is great.

I'm not for a very long time.

I swear to you, I didn't know she was a Republican.

I didn't find that out until.

Don't want to say this in front of her because she's also a church going God fearing women.

So I didn't want to say this part.

So I went to Must have been in 2024 I went to a night market and I Had a couple drinks because the night market is a good time and I knew that Tori Lowe Was having a town hall meeting here in one of our meeting rooms at the 3rd Street Market Hall

And I was like, I'm a go.

I'm a go crash Tory Lowe's Republican party.

So I'm walking in.

After having a couple of few, you know what I mean?

Had a couple of little couple cocktails.

This nothing.

Nothing made it just something slight.

I mean, a couple of little few cocktails.

I was still functional.

I walked in and it was a sea of black people.

Dr. Ken was in the audience giving the microphone to people who had questions and I took inventory of the blacks that I saw and that's when I saw Dr. Reeves and her husband.

I was like hot damn it I saw a whole bunch of blacks in there Ron Johnson I Thought it would have been more likely that black people were protesting Ron Johnson than actually in the town hall meeting.

It was those blacks.

They were focused

Tori Lowe was on stage moderating the conversation.

I don't even know what the hell it was about Tori Lowe was Tori Lowe You got to help me find the missing people senator Ron Johnson and Ron Johnson was probably talking about Joe Biden stealing the election I don't know and here's the other part so Zach was on Zach was the DJ so I walk in Zach is on stage DJing Tori Lowe was sitting in a chair next to Ron Johnson.

Dr. Ken's wearing a bow tie

Dr. Kendall like a shiny-headed Muslim, so he's walking around the crowd and it's just a bunch of blacks minute winky blue was there.

I expected him to be there I Just it's too hard to You can't be a Republican right now Because even though you may be an independent thinker and you may have ideas that don't even align with that party like that's a choice to align with

A party that's a very, it has a very damaged brand.

But Shondalyn is great, so I'm conflicted.

Now, I don't live in the 11th district, I don't.

I don't live there, so I can't vote for her anyway.

But it's a very democratic district, and it will be virtually impossible for her to win, because, you know, in the district, obviously not everyone is gonna know who she is, but not everyone knows who the current incumbent is, and I bet most of you have no idea who the...

representative of the 11th Assembly district is but when people go and vote they're much more likely to just vote for any generic Democrat than any Republican.

Shondal is gonna get some votes she's gonna get a few.

Now the other thing on a general election ballot which we have now and I'm gonna give you the numbers on how people have voted on the second day of early voting.

You can cross over you can vote for Democrats and Republicans on in a primary you can't but in a general election you can cross over So she's gonna get some votes Nitty, did you bring my yard sign today?

You did guess what?

I don't need it cuz I got a yard sign from the event last night from the watch party Ray Nitty was at the watch party last night.

A whole bunch of people were there.

It's mostly black women though

A lot of black women.

Erica Crowley was there.

She got the crowd all fired up.

Word of caution.

Don't be mad at me when I say this.

Well, no, you're not going to be mad at me because you just witnessed.

I got yelled at by a black woman in my own studio in my own show, yelled at, chastised even, by a Republican.

What do you want me to do?

I got to hold, these are her policies.

Sean and Paul, they're good, but.

If you go watch a Political debate at a venue And it's mostly black women at the venue and David Carly was doing very well and so they were cheering David on Like he was scoring touchdowns and three-point shots.

Okay, they were you know black women, but I couldn't hear anything I could cuz it was like

Ever go to a movie and it's a lot of black people in a movie that when I walk into a movie and I see a bunch of black people Well, I'm not gonna be able to hear anything I'm not gonna be able to hear Because everybody's gonna be talking But it was great and David was prepared.

He did a fantastic job I'm not gonna rehash the debate if you want to hear my thoughts on the debate

and why Tom Tiffany was unprepared.

Tom Tiffany was unprepared because Republicans across the country are not preparing for debates because they believe that they can do what Donald Trump did.

They have followed him so much.

This is why it's dangerous for our country.

It's not smart to follow any one person.

It isn't.

And they follow Donald Trump because in 2024 when you had legitimate primaries and there were Republicans that were debating, in fact, the very first debate of the 2024 election cycle,

was right here in Milwaukee and myself, Kyle Wallace and Dr. Ken Harris.

It was at the five surf forum and we got credentialed and we covered it.

Donald Trump didn't go to that debate.

In fact, he didn't go to any debate.

You guys remember that in the twenty twenty four.

Truth for sure when you can't you said you can't see it.

Hold on.

Say all right.

I should have pulled my pants.

Let's talk to who called first.

I'll call first.

Hi, Al.

How are you today?

I'm doing well.

What I wanted to say.

I know you had a young lady on and I just want to wish her the best in all her endeavors and may every day be a good day.

And even if it's cloudy outside, the sun is always shining on you.

Trying to be nice and kind.

She do know that

The Republican Party is not a fan of nobody that's colored, you know They speak with so much elegance and pride and all the you know, even if they have done for blacks But yet you were going to run as one.

Maybe she knows something about the recipe as we don't And I was gonna ask you have you noticed with the orange man

how that dementia is chewing that ass up like bubble gum.

Yes,

Sherwin Hughes

it sure is.

Chewing that ass up.

And I don't understand how they sitting there looking goofy.

Don't they know any person that makes any major decisions with dementia is a liability?

I'm sitting here trying not to laugh, because I just thought it was a stupid move.

But I had to call and share that information.

Because I'm like, god damn.

He barely can walk.

He walked past the car door.

And y'all sitting y'all, so loose foot, not needed, can't go my ankles, water in your knee, goofy ass in there, like everything is OK.

Well, we shall see.

And I am proud of the voting.

Y'all have yourself a great day.

Bye-bye.

Sherwin Hughes

Bye-bye.

Thank you for calling.

Let's see if I can make this

work.

And I don't do this with men very often.

I started examining his body because I didn't know he was a great athlete.

And I looked and I watched up and down.

I looked at his ass and I looked at the hole.

And then I looked at his hands.

Look at his hands.

He's got these like claws.

And I got it.

You are a great athlete.

I didn't know that because he doesn't talk about that.

Congratulations.

Now they finally know.

That was very good.

Thank his body because I didn't know he was a great athlete.

And I looked and I watched up and down.

I looked at his ass and I looked at the hole and down.

I looked at his ass and I looked up and down.

I looked at his ass and down.

I looked at his ass and I looked at his ass and I looked at his ass and I looked at the hole.

Sherwin Hughes

Well, at least he's come around on LGBTQ rights.

You know, he actually, no, no, he really said this.

This is not AI.

And then I looked at his hands.

Look at his hands.

He's got these like claws.

Sherwin Hughes

You know what they say about men with big hands?

You know what they say.

You know what they say.

Millison, do you know what they say about men that have big hands?

No, I

do not.

Sherwin Hughes

They wear big gloves.

That's what they say.

Oh.

OK.

But men don't wear gloves too often.

When it's cold, yeah, we do.

I'll put some gloves on.

OK.

I got big gloves.

OK.

It's gigantic.

Biggest gloves.

Listen, what happened to the backlash?

I want to know why is nobody talking about the fact that Tori Lowe and Liz Brown told y'all to vote for Donald Trump.

Where they at now?

Why is it so quiet?

It's cricket.

Sherwin Hughes

I don't know, but Tori did another.

Year and almost two years of broadcasting after Donald Trump was reelected and didn't nobody really say nothing to him

No, I'm saying though now that we see what all he's done and Tori Lowe and Liz was supposed to be working for us Advocates for the people which I told them to vote for Donald Trump I'm confused.

Is that really advocating for our people?

Sherwin Hughes

Don't know why

did you

Sherwin Hughes

take you should have taken it up with them when they were broadcasting on 101 72 for five What did they say I did how would they

defend their

Sherwin Hughes

support?

Oh, they would

They would hang up on me.

He didn't have time to be dealing with that.

I can go kick rocks

Sherwin Hughes

They told you to kick rocks

Sorry to hear that I would never

Yeah, that's okay.

I don't mind kicking rocks.

I don't mind kicking.

I'm pretty good at kicking.

One might hit you.

Did you see the debate last night?

I saw that debate and it was wonderful.

The sad part is that a lot of people didn't catch the ending.

Tom Tiffany had nothing to say to regular people.

He could only talk to you about his private plane going in the water.

How many of y'all got that problem that your private plane might fall in the water?

He's got a curiosity.

He has nothing to say that that affects us as people, not just black people, people in general.

Most people in Wisconsin don't have a private plane.

See here in the police comment is not making us think, oh, a man Wisconsin is doing great.

What a wonderful place.

No.

And I think we should have caught on to that a little bit better, but I do think that Crowley can win.

Because even when I'm up north, you see a lot of Crowley sign.

A lot of.

Sherwin Hughes

They say yard

signs

Sherwin Hughes

don't vote Miller sign.

We often times

I know we get fooled by the yard

Sherwin Hughes

signs You never know

some well, let's say this if he doesn't win if Crawley does not win All of y'all that's struggling now y'all better gone down there to Mississippi because there's not gonna be nothing here for you Because I know time Tiffany is gonna take everything from Milwaukee

And that's just what he's about to do.

So if he probably does not win, it's going to be a group, a segment of people who are going to be in a lot of trouble, a lot of trouble.

And there'll be no helping them because we won't have enough for ourselves.

So it'll be nothing to come help you with.

And that's the unfortunate part.

Sherwin Hughes

Well, let's

just

Sherwin Hughes

hope you too.

Thank you for your call.

We hope the people.

I feel like I probably shouldn't have this Crowley God-Lewisky sign over Bangles head because Are we supposed to be non papa papa?

Non papa papa?

Non papa.

No,

Sherwin Hughes

we had a Republican on now.

We're promoting a Democrat.

Oh, you're right

Sherwin Hughes

equal time Equal time I got a

Crowley yard sign covering Bango's head.

This was the yard sign that nitty was supposed to get me yesterday I went to the Cooperage, which is like a music venue in the Harbor District and they had a debate watch party last night.

I Won't Go to another debate watch party because people are loud and I wanted to hear The debate they had pizza though They had a lot of pizza

So they had pizza.

You had to buy your own drinks.

So I had a drink and then I ate some pizza and I got a nice seat and had a big screen.

I was like, oh, this is good.

I'll be able to watch the debate and hear every word because watching debates is not just something I do because I'm interested in the policy platforms of candidates.

I watch debates because it's a part of my job and my preparation because I know that you all will want to discuss the debate.

the next day.

In fact, yesterday we put up a YouTube poll asking you all if you were going to watch the debate and probably 70, 75% of you said that you were.

So that's even more motivation for me to watch the debate and pay attention and take some notes and then highlight some things that were said.

But then as I'm watching the debate and David Crowley said some stuff, you said very good things.

He was on message.

He was on point because David Crowley prepared.

Republicans are not debating this cycle.

Earlier in the program, I gave a list of Republican candidates, some were incumbent, some were challengers, that are refusing to debate.

They're just not debating their Democratic opponents, and you have to wonder why that is.

That's very much intentional, very much on purpose, and I might, I think, and I don't have any advanced knowledge of this, that they are being told

Not to debate their democratic opponents because anything these Republicans might say is going to be damaging and is going to be harmful So either they're going to be sticking up for supporting Donald Trump policies They're not going to be able to explain their support for the war and the tariffs and the inflation and the gas prices So they are being told not to debate at all because when they do debate

what the social media universe is doing, and it's further shredding the Republicans credibility if they had any credibility to begin with, because not everybody watches these candidate debates, but people will pay much more attention to social media and TikTok and get their sound bites about their politics from those different sources.

And so what I've just seen just on my Twitter feed makes Tom Tiffany look even worse.

You know what it was?

You know what I was reminded of when I was watching it somewhere between

Because he's just a boomer.

You know, he just he's the worst embodiment of a baby boomer.

Just aloof, detached, think everybody is stupid.

But it also reminded me of if I was to do a political debate with Bob, where they might ask me a question or ask us a question if I was debating Bob about health care.

And then Bob would just start talking about the Chicago Bears from 1947.

Or Bob would just talk about going to the casino with random women he meets at a George Webb It just seemed drifting and meandering and it was embarrassing, but also it's disrespectful

If you are going to get in front of a microphone and television cameras on a television station where there's moderators and the moderators are prepared, don't you at least at the very minimum owe the people that are dedicating some time of their evening to watch you to at least be prepared and answer these questions honestly and fairly.

He didn't even do that.

I know that we have different opinions on such things.

But I know as a black African-American person, we are big on a couple of things.

Namely, respect.

Because we sometimes don't get it.

The default setting for us is to be oftentimes disrespected, sometimes even by other black people, but certainly by the structures and the institutions of America that never really prided itself on respecting us.

So we're very big on respect.

And if you're going to get in front of God and everybody else on television and not prepare, you're not showing us any respect.

Now, white folks, y'all are different because you will let your leaders disrespect you.

You will.

You'll let your leaders talk to you any old kind of way as long as they promise to discriminate against black people.

Y'all take all sorts of disrespect.

Us as black folks, we're very big on respect.

If you ask 32 percent.

The African-American black people that are in prison for murder 32% of them would say that they killed somebody because they felt disrespected Kind of a dumb thing to spend life in prison for but I mean I get it I Know many of you have stories of work when you were disrespected and you wanted to shoot somebody in the face.

No you didn't But it's possible right if you feel very disrespected so many disrespect you Fellas, what if you're with your wife?

public.

Another man comes up to your wife and licks her face.

You would feel very disrespected, even more disrespected if your wife licked his face back, but you know what I mean?

Wouldn't you want to beat that person up or kill him?

It's a random stranger coming up to your wife and licking on her face.

I'd be highly disrespected.

So basically what Tom Tiffany did by not preparing

Is he did an action that's similar to licking our wives on their faces?

Just coming up to our wives just come here Just licking all over her face and then he and then her face is shiny from the licking because that's disrespectful in time Tiffany disrespected us by not being prepared I'm gonna take a break come back.

I don't even know what to do with this damn radio show.

I don't even Shondelin was here

She was yelling at me.

She's the Republican.

I'm not.

I should have asked her about the Epstein files.

I should have asked her if she'd vote to release them if she got elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly.

I don't know what's happening.

Okay.

I watched up and down, I looked at his ass, and down, I looked at his ass, I looked at his ass, I looked at his ass, and I looked at the hole.

And then I looked at his hands.

Look at his hands.

He's got these, like, claws.

And I got it.

You are a great athlete.

I didn't know that, because he doesn't talk about that.

Congratulations.

Now they finally know.

That was very good.

Sherwin Hughes

He's got the dementia.

You're the president of the United States.

Why would you...

Listen you like what you like Okay, some people look at a man and say who I want to eat that up Some people look at a woman and say oh I want to eat that up Trump has his Preferences and you can't get mad at somebody's preferences So I listen to my show

Yesterday not the whole thing because why the hell would I do that?

But when I told the joke about the transgender person September 11th and Michael Jackson which are three things that really shouldn't be funny and I told a joke that encompasses all of those things the horrible terrorist attack on September 11th a transgender person

And Michael Jackson and I listened to that joke that I told yesterday on the show And it was funnier than I thought and and why I didn't get Like more praise For telling that joke I Don't know so here's what I think I'm gonna do because there's new people listening today I Want to tell the joke again

It's a joke that it's offensive, but I don't want us to lose our sense of humor in this world that we are living in so I am going to retell the joke that I told yesterday that involves three things that really shouldn't be funny and I want to let you know that if you're a sensitive person and if you are like super politically correct and You're easily offended you may not want to hear this joke.

I think the joke is funny

I listened to it.

I replayed it because I told it yesterday.

And I want to tell it again.

Only with your permission.

Aaron said, please don't tell the joke.

Aaron, you're just one person.

You're only at one human being.

If there are other people that want to hear the joke.

I will entertain them.

Now, if overwhelmingly you all say in the YouTube chat.

That you don't want to hear the joke then fine.

I won't tell it because you know I believe in democracy and the majority rules And so if a bunch of you say sure when no no no we're too sensitive we're too weak We're too timid we don't want to hear a joke that involves the world trade center towers.

Oh, it's a terrible day And a transgender person know you can't talk about the transgender people Don't you can't do that

Because that's not nice.

And you definitely can't talk about Michael Jackson because many people love him.

In fact, yesterday is when I found out that.

One of our listeners, why is their name escape?

Who was the one that always wants to have sex with me?

I can't remember what her name was.

But she's like, oh, sure.

Well, don't talk about Michael Jackson.

Don't tell a joke about Michael Jackson because I have a Michael Jackson tattoo on my body.

Oh, Lady B, that's the one.

She said no Sherwin, please don't tell the joke.

I have why would you get Michael Jackson's name?

Tattoo it on your body, but whatever Jasmine said don't tell the joke Sherwin if it didn't work the first time, please don't force it, but it did work Jasmine did you hear it?

I Don't think you heard it Tell the joke mr. Marty says okay

Felix says I got my hot Italian sub at Jersey Mike, so I'm ready for the joke Zay to Shay says sure Tell it again But the funny part is how horribly unfunny the joke was like it's suck.

No, no, I didn't I'm telling the joke ready All right

A transgender person walks into a bar in Tower One of the World Trade Center.

And they approach the bartender and they order a drink.

And the drink they order is a sex change on the beach.

And the bartender says, I don't know what that is.

We don't have that here.

I've never heard of that drink before in my life.

And the transgender person gets a little offended.

Because they have had this drink before in fact, it's the only thing that they drink and so transgender person asked the bartender again Can you please make me a sex change on the beach?

And the bartender said I told you the first time I don't know what that is.

I've never heard of that drink before in my life So then the transgender person says fine I'm going to use the bathroom

And the bartender says, no, you're not going to use the bathroom.

In fact, I'm going to ask you to leave.

And now the transgender person is even more offended because first they couldn't get their drink, a sex change on the beach.

Now they are asking to use the bathroom and this rude, disrespectful bartender is telling them to leave.

And so the transgender person says, why?

Why are you asking me to leave when I tell you I have to use the bathroom?

And the bartender says, because the plane just hit the building.

So then the transgender person walks out of Tower One, they look up and see all the smoke in the fire.

And as they're walking away from the building, they randomly run into Michael Jackson.

No one knew that Michael Jackson was in town.

Nobody knew that Michael Jackson was in downtown Manhattan on September 11th.

And so Michael Jackson sees this transgender person who just walked out of Tower One.

they wanted a sex change on the beach the bartender didn't make the drink they wanted to use the bathroom but they couldn't because a plane hit the tower and michael jackson looks directly at this transgender person and says he and the transgender person says no she her

If you don't think that joke is funny, you're probably a Republican voter for Tom Tiffany.

I have day two early vote totals.

Let's read those, shall we?

American Serb Hall yesterday saw 394 voters, 13 registrations, and 21 people dropped their ballots off.

The Clinton Rose Center yesterday saw 103 voters, six new registrants, and three ballot drop-offs.

The Good Hope Library.

367 voters 21 people registered and 23 people dropped their ballots off Marquette alumni union saw 59 voters 29 of those were new registrants and no one dropped their ballots off the Midtown Voting Center 586 votes were cast 29 new registrants and 32 people dropped their ballots off.

Let me quickly compare Midtown which had 586 voters yesterday to

Midtown on the first day of early voting a little bit of a decline on the first day of early voting Midtown saw 671 voters and 21 registrants yesterday Midtown saw 586 voters but 29 registrants so eight more people registered to vote yesterday at Midtown then on Tuesday the Mitchell Street Library saw 93 votes and 11 new registrants two people dropped their ballots off the Villa Library saw 48 voters

six registrants and one ballot drop off the tippy canoe library saw 430 voters nine new registrants and 13 people dropped their ballots off tippy canoe on Tuesday saw 326 voters so they actually increased to 430 yesterday versus Tuesday the UWM Zalazo Center, which is another early voting site

Yesterday 235 people cast their ballots 26 or about 10% of them were new voters new registrants four people dropped their ballots off the Washington Park Senior Center 223 people voted there yesterday eight people registered and four people dropped their dropped their ballots off on Tuesday the Washington Park Senior Center saw 230 voters

and 14 registrants and yesterday they saw 223 and of course the Zidler municipal building yesterday saw 534 voters 28 new registrants and 35 people dropped their ballots off in total yesterday alone 3072 Milwaukeeans cast early votes there were 178 individuals who newly registered

and 138 people dropped their ballots off, so a small downturn from the first day of early voting where daily totals were 33, 98, 129, and 188, respectively.

Both candidates said affordability is essential concern, but they offered different approaches Tiffany proposed cutting some income taxes for middle-income households eliminating taxes on tips and overtime and Ending what he called a 400 year property tax increase We're going to put more money into people's pockets Tiffany said Crowley called for a fairer

tax system saying we need to make sure that everybody in the state of Wisconsin can get access to groceries, can afford a roof over their head.

He argued that Tiffany's support for federal tax cuts benefits wealthy people while putting health care and other services at risk.

Tiffany said the state should return the nearly $3 billion budget surplus to taxpayers.

through long-term tax relief, we should return all of that to the taxpayers, Tiffany said.

He did not specify how much individual taxpayers would receive.

That's a lack of preparation, Tiffany.

If your plan is to give the surplus back to taxpayers in a variety of different ways, and I'm not entirely against that, either one-time checks or you reduced her income taxes or something, you got some flexibility with $3 billion, okay?

But the fact that that's what the plan is to give the money back to the taxpayers and you can't tell us how much or how.

That's basic stuff that he could have prepared for.

He didn't.

He didn't do no homework.

He's also probably very old and looks at people's butts like Trump does.

He looks like a butt looker, doesn't he?

Kind of.

Like Tom Tiffin, you have to tell him, hey, Congress and my eyes are up here.

I'm sorry, Sherwin.

Kind of thick around the middle aren't you?

Crowley supported a bipartisan tax relief proposal negotiated by Governor Tony Evers and Republican legislative leaders quote we need to be utilizing this surplus to provide relief to make more Affordable to make it more affordable for families across the state of Wisconsin David Crowley said he said the money could help lower property taxes and support public schools child care and health care

Tiffany said he would increase state funding for schools While requiring higher standards and greater accountability.

I don't believe not man.

None of that stuff Let me see what I

got going on here.

What is this?

So

Sherwin Hughes

not that Should we hear a little bit this here?

What is this here?

Sherwin Hughes

I Think

I have some audio

Sherwin Hughes

or have we heard enough we've heard enough right?

Have we heard enough?

Tom Tiffany and David Crowley.

Do y'all want to watch the debate yesterday?

Oh, you know what I should do Let's check the poll I asked you Who do you think won the debate?

You guys are biased 85% of you said David Crowley won the debate The journal Sentinel had an article I just saw the headline I wasn't able to read

The whole article, maybe I can find it.

Journal Sentinel readers who I'd imagine are probably mostly conservative.

I don't know who reads that newspaper anyway.

They even said 80% of them said David Crowley won the debate.

How embarrassing for Tom Tiffany.

Let me see.

I'll play you some

audio.

I'll play

Sherwin Hughes

some.

What is this education in school vouchers?

That's a slippery slope for David because he doesn't want to make the anti voucher people's angry.

Here's how I feel about the parental choice program, even though the Republicans have completely and totally hijacked it.

It was a program.

So very few public service programs.

I'm not going to say welfare.

Very few of them are started with African American poverty in mind.

Usually every other public assistance program that we have is because white people are overwhelmingly poor.

And there needs to be some kind of assistance for them.

Remember corporate welfare, welfare for farmers.

The reason why we had government cheese is because the government was buying milk from dairy farmers and telling dairy farmers to continue to produce more milk, even though the market could not bear that much milk.

So the milk was turned into cheese.

And when Reagan took office, it was like 580 million pounds of cheese and those five.

Pound bricks and Reagan was like start giving it away Give it to school so they can serve it at lunchtime with the grilled cheeses and the cheeseburgers and start giving it away to family but that all resulted from a Subsidy to encourage dairy farmers and those are mostly white people 90-something percent of farmers are white same with corn Hey corn farmers continue to grow a bunch of corn and the federal government will buy all the corn that you can't sell at the grocery store And how often do you even eat corn?

Might go to the fair and go to summer fest get you a ear of corn But how many you eating you're not eating 37 years of corn was the last time you bought a can of corn You don't buy corn and when you do buy corn guess what whenever you give like food canned goods to like a food bank It's always a canned corn that goes first don't lie to me.

I've seen you all drop off that damn corn And then some of the corn is for animal feed but where's the rest of the corn go it goes in our gasoline

They turn it into ethanol because we grow so much corn.

We got to find other places to put it because the federal government is giving corn farming subsidies, which is welfare.

If you're growing corn and the market doesn't want to buy your corn, guess what?

You better start growing soybeans or weed.

And then they take the corn and they turn it into high fructose corn syrup, which is why every one of you is fat.

All of you and I'm not saying that to be mean to fat people.

As someone who identifies as a fatty, I understand it.

I don't want to be this fat.

I want to be a lot less fat, but I can't be less fat because the high fructose corn syrup, well, so I don't exercise.

I don't like getting all tired.

You know what I mean?

I don't like running unless I have to.

But see how the corporate welfare for these farmers is making me fat and relatively angry.

All right, let's see what we got here.

budget surplus now sits at nearly $3 billion.

Mr. Crowley, in our Democratic primary debate, you were the only candidate who said you would have signed the failed tax relief deal negotiated by Governor Tony Evers and Republican leaders.

The deal would have delivered rebate checks, lower property taxes, invested more in special education, and eliminated taxes on tips in overtime.

So what now is your specific plan for the surplus?

You know what the support of that deal, because it would have been a bipartisan effort, is because people made the hard decision to come to

together as Democrats and Republicans to provide that relief for so many families who are desperately in need.

And the reason why I didn't pass the state legislature is because Congressman Tom Tiffany, he called in some favors and asked and pushed people not to vote for it.

He wants to make sure that this surplus is not going to the hardworking families.

He wants to deliver this as a tax cut to billionaires, giving him a 0% income tax like he has said while he's been campaigning for this position.

So

we

need to be utilizing this surplus.

To provide relief to make it more affordable for families across the state of Wisconsin We can use in a surplus to actually put towards our public schools to make sure that we're buying down the property tax rate.

There's so many

Sherwin Hughes

Alright, he did a good job.

I'm doing my best Tom Tiffany impression right now on the YouTube.

This is what I Look like Tom Tiffany, right?

No Hi, hi, I'm I'm Tom Tiffany.

You know what we need to

Nobody can get an abortion ever.

I want to make sure That all the illegals go back to wherever they're from back to the country of illegal They have to go back You shouldn't get Obama care.

I don't like it But if you're rich, I like you a lot I like your rich

Get the blacks out of here don't like them look at all the crime in Milwaukee David Crowley fault so much crime boo Yeah, I voted with Donald Trump a hundred percent at the time Because Donald Trump looks at asses and I do too That's what I do I go and I vote with Trump and look at ass

I make a hundred and seventy five thousand dollars a year and I want to get elected governor so I look at everybody else's ass that's gotta take a commercial break I don't even why do I time to even doesn't have teeth like this does it no okay

We

have to make sure that we have guardrails in place.

We have to protect our children.

We want to make sure that all of the labels are clearly identifiable, making sure that people know exactly what's in their product.

And we have to go towards full legalization because this is opportunity that we're missing out on as a state.

Look, Governor Pritzker literally thinks Wisconsin residents, because they have made $30 million in sales tax collection just from Wisconsin residents.

If we were to go to full legalization, we could bring in anywhere between 80 to 170 million dollars, helping to invest in health care all across the state of Wisconsin.

Talking about legalizing the marijuana weed.

Nor these opportunities to go to Illinois, Minnesota or Michigan.

I want to ask about health care

really quickly.

1.2 million Wisconsinites rely on Medicaid, including nearly 825,000 enrolled in BadgerCare.

Tonight, Wisconsin's Medicaid program has a projected $269 million shortfall for the current budget, and that doesn't yet take into

account changes from the big beautiful bill that take effect in January.

So, Mr. Tiffany, how will you address that shortfall specifically?

I really wish that I could give you a more in-depth answer comprehensively on health care because it is a critical

Sherwin Hughes

issue.

You don't have an answer.

He's not prepared for anything.

What a sham.

I do not have guns at home.

Hey, it's a commercial plan.

Stop it.

I feel really sick.

Stop playing the commercial.

Hang on.

Everybody relax.

Sherwin Hughes

Here we

go.

To be your governor because Wisconsin families are working harder than ever and still falling behind.

Behind.

And I get it.

You get

it.

I

grew up in a working class family and I'm raising three amazing dollars.

Free.

Congressman Tom Tiffany, he doesn't get it.

He went to Washington and he sold Wisconsin out.

He went to go work for Donald Trump in a billion years bankrolling.

They got tax breaks.

You got higher bills.

They got tariffs.

You got higher prices.

They got their endless war.

You got record high gas prices.

This election is about who your governor works for.

If Congressman Tom Tiffany becomes our governor, he's going to work for them, not for you, just like he did in Washington, voting with Donald Trump 100% of the time.

But me?

I'll work for you.

I'll lower your costs.

I'll expand health care.

I'll make sure we can improve our schools and bring people together to get it done.

That's why I'm asking for your

vote.

Thank

you

and go

Brewers.

Mr. Tiffany.

It was a month ago that a plane that I was in had to make an emergency.

Shut up.

Sherwin Hughes

Can't even talk about what you're going to do policy wise.

You talk about the damn plane.

Hold on.

Hold on.

You know what?

Let me be fair.

He dialed 911.

From the time that call hit dispatch in downtown Wasaw to the boat picking us up in the middle of Lake Wasaw was 16

minutes.

Only 16 minutes.

I remember hearing after we made the call that you could hear the sirens and then you could see the lights.

But it only took them 16 minutes.

Sherwin Hughes

That seems like a long time.

Ladies and gentlemen, I saw the

best of Wisconsin that night.

As your next governor, I'm going to make sure you see the best of Wisconsin.

As your next governor, I'm going to wait 16 minutes before I...

Not all of it.

Our sincere thanks to both of you, the candidates for being here tonight, and thank you to everyone watching at home.

Sherwin Hughes

That's how he wasted his opening statement.

16 minutes.

That

Sherwin Hughes

seems like an awfully long time.

I've wondered.

Complain about that.

That's so what are you in the 60 minutes?

What are you doing?

Swimming, floating with what?

I don't I don't know some about it ain't right.

That's not nice of me and I can hear the Republican saying oh sure when you're being a jerk you should have a level of sympathy for me Did you see the pictures so after the plane crash?

He had like a little band-aid above his eyebrow.

He had like a paper cut How's the whole plane gonna go in the lake and crack because when planes hit water they break apart Tom Tiffany had a paper cut above his eyebrow

It almost looked like an eyebrow trimming accident more than a plane.

But I don't know.

I wasn't there.

But isn't that disrespectful to the people in the state of Wisconsin when you are giving your closing statement from a debate in which everything is at stake in this election and you take that time to talk about yourself and your plane crash?

Now, there was a moment that I believe.

somewhat humanized Tom Tiffany because I supposedly his Him and his wife's 31st anniversary Was yesterday, so we gave a shot out to his wife, but something else I find a little bit unusual About Republicans because they're usually the political party of family and family values You have not seen

Tom Tiffany's wife.

Have you have you seen her is she on the campaign trail?

I know Erica Crowley is everywhere Erica Crowley was at the debate watch party last night She grabbed the microphone.

She got people all fired up and ready to go She was asking people to knock on doors and talk to their neighbors Erica Crowley appears in some of David Crowley's commercials But Tom Tiffany I don't know if he ever

Brings his wife around and you would think that the Republicans would do that

and I don't do this with men very often I started examining his body because I didn't know he was a great athlete and I looked and I watched up and down I looked at his ass and I look at his ass and I looked at his ass and I looked at the hole and Then I looked at his hands look at his hands.

He's got these like claws

And I got it.

You are a great athlete.

I didn't up and down.

I looked at his ass and I looked at

Sherwin Hughes

the whole So this this is the guy that Tom Tiffany voted with a hundred percent of the time Tom

Tiffany endorsed that comment

Sherwin Hughes

Pretty simple I think if you you just think about it logically I was pretty easy

Crowley used every opening to tie Tiffany to Donald Trump endorsed by him voted with him 100% of the time and to the billionaire class bankrolling his campaign Diane Hendricks and the U lines He pointed to Tiffany's votes against ending the Iran conflict and blocking tariffs as proof that Tiffany prioritizes Trump and wealthy donors over Lowering cost for Wisconsinites Trump's approval rating sits at 38% among Wisconsin registered voters

in the late September Marquette poll, making this a potent line of attack in a tight race where Crowley leads in the polls, 49% to 46%.

When pressed on his role in efforts to challenge the 2020 election results, Tom Tiffany cited Zucker Bucks, which are private election grants, much of which went to Democratic leaning cities and the Dane County clerks indefinitely confined interpretation.

Crowley hit back hard.

Tiffany was willing to throw out hundreds of thousands of Wisconsin votes over a disagreement about how money was spent and not proven fraud.

Crowley stressed free and fair elections and that voters cannot trust Tiffany to certify results if he disagrees with the outcome of an election.

Both eventually said that they would certify the 2028 results, but Crowley owned the moment by framing Tiffany's past as a threat to democratic norms.

Crowley called for a fairer, simpler system.

of taxing that funds schools infrastructure and opportunity so working class families can get ahead drawing on his own background growing up working class and raising three daughters with his wife Erika.

He noted school districts turning to referendums because of insufficient state support.

and criticized Tiffany's votes that benefit high earners.

Tiffany pushed returning the entire project to $3 billion surplus via long term income and property tax cuts, including a proposed 10% cut for families that make under $150,000 and ending the 400 year property tax pressure from the Evers veto.

He proposed new transportation, user fees, tolls, gas, tax indexing as well.

Crowley was open to user fees and tolling for roads while opposing gas tax indexing and asked how services get funded if revenue is continuously cut.

Crowley prioritizes sustainable investment in schools and communities.

Tiffany's cuts risk underfunding the things Wisconsin families rely on while protecting the donor class.

Tiffany would mandate local and state coordination with ICE and honor detainers.

Crowley opposed blanket detainer agreements, said ICE should wear masks, but not wear masks, or inside fear emphasized protecting civil liberties and noted many long-term residents work in essential roles, including dairy farms.

He supports deporting actual criminals.

but not the broader approach of the federal administration.

Crowley said he would sign a Republican-backed bill to repeal the large sales tax exemption and supports local control when it comes to data centers.

Plus, environmental review pauses.

Tiffany attacked the recent shift, but both largely agreed on garbage.
