with a boom ping ping wisdom sharper than a beast fear sting words like fireflies that light the night he turns the dark into blazing bright boom ping ping the truth takes wing Milwaukee's voice let the city sing
Today is Thursday, October 8, 2026.
Well, Xavier, you were right.
I should have listened to you from the start.
See, now I know better.
Now I know that when you say something, I should listen.
You are, in fact, the anointed one because you called it.
You said, oh.
Governor at Westmore will be in the studio with us on Friday along with Milwaukee County executive David Crowley Who's a Democratic nominee for governor of the state of Wisconsin?
I didn't know if it was going to happen.
I wasn't sure There are a lot of moving parts and when all of the parts are moving it's hard to try and track and trace and narrow it down and nail it down that's been nailed very much looking forward to the
Visit with both of those gentlemen.
I don't know when I look at the two of those gentlemen who will be in studio tomorrow morning literally in 24 hours I see a 2032 ticket 2028 is a little ambitious because that presidential election cycle is essentially going to start in the next five or six months, but I think 2032 Could be conceivable.
Now.
I don't know who the hell we're gonna elect in 2028.
Maybe we give Kamala a shot
I'm not entirely opposed to giving Kamala a sympathy term.
I know Xavier.
You don't like that.
She's not communist enough.
I know I know maybe she's going to be a little more communistic.
I don't know.
I mean we gave Joe Biden a sympathy term.
At least he wasn't going around with Liz Cheney.
There's a newer generation of folks who are entering into the political fold.
So in their developmental environment and politics, they just saw one party rule everything.
So in order to get anything done, they believe you have to have the Democrats controlling everything or the Republicans controlling everything.
Bipartisanship is not something that is as common as it once was because people now use their politics to shape their identity.
And if.
If there is and was a Republican that can say, hey, my party does horrible things.
My party hurts people.
Here's a list of priorities that my party has that the American people don't have.
We want people to be able to do that.
There is nothing worse than a Democrat that is so loyal to the Democratic Party that they become a member of a cult.
That is not what American politics is supposed to be.
And the unfortunate thing is far too many people who are.
Students of American politics and democracy believe that that is the way and it simply is not.
I would love to see more Democrats endorsing Republicans and Republicans endorsing Democratic policies like, you know, health care, easing the tax burden, investing in infrastructure, clean air, clean water.
All of the things, bringing back the electric vehicle tax credit, all of these things make sense.
Some regulation on artificial intelligence, guardrails on AI, guardrails on these social media companies.
Each and every one of those things, and probably 50 other things I could name, should be bipartisan priorities, but they are not.
Not getting into the whole women's health care thing, because that never should have been political in the first place.
Whenever you start politicizing,
Doctors and the relationship that they have between their patients, you ruin literally everything that comes after that.
So will Kamala Harris get elected in the United States?
Well, of course not.
She's a woman.
Let's not be ridiculous.
However, I'm not if she got elected, I wouldn't say, oh, darn it.
I'd be like, oh, let's do this thing.
Let's get some things in order.
There's going to be a lot of recovery.
I'm not sure if the American people are quite ready for so whenever the next presidential election is and the person gets elected and the campaign is going to be a mess as you could imagine The Trump administration has done things and is doing things and will continue to do them for the next two years that the American people are completely and totally unaware of they Undone things they've unraveled things.
They've severed relationships.
We have created enemies where we once had friends
A foreign policy has taken a backseat.
Diplomacy has taken a backseat.
The amount of time that the new president and their administration is going to have to do to repair all that was broken is going to be very, very consuming.
And the unfortunate thing is the American people are going to want action.
They're going to want policies.
They're going to want tax cuts.
They're probably going to want some kind of I don't know who knows what they're going to want at the time.
lower gas prices, they want inflation to be in check.
We're going to need interest rates to go down, all of those things.
But to repair what has been broken will take so long that by the time the midterm elections come up in 2030, it is going to look like to most American people, because most American people don't follow politics.
They don't.
Most American people cannot tell you how a bill becomes a law.
Most American people can't tell you who their county supervisor is, who their county board members are, nor what they do.
So by the time we get to 2030, it's going to look like the Democrats did nothing.
And then the Republicans are going to run on that.
Hey, the Democrats didn't do anything.
Even though the Democrats, assuming that they have some kind of legislative majority post the 2028 presidential election, so much time is going to have to be spent.
Repairing the breach that policy might take a backseat not to mention the investigations Mark my words, and I hope this shows up on calcium because if it does I'm a bet on it There will be at least I'll start low 24 Trump officials current or former so from this term currently, okay
At least 24 two dozen that will be indicted and will spend time in federal prison Okay, these are the people that Trump is not going to blanket pardon because remember Joe Biden did a blanket pardon because Biden knew that when he exited office that the Trump administration would go after with let's just say great vigor People in the Biden administration that Donald Trump believed were some kind of a threat
So Joe Biden issued and he gave a blanket pardon to his son.
Well, of course he did and there was a few other people I think that he pardoned but didn't he also Or maybe that was Governor Westmore, no, I think Joe Biden did this too Anyone who had a federal marijuana conviction
You got a pardon I think from the Biden administration and then maybe governor more from Maryland I think he may have done something similar in his state Tony ears can do the same thing because it makes no damn sense where marijuana is legal marijuana is too legal, but if you spent time or if you have a
a state or federal felony because of a marijuana possession conviction.
There's no way you should still have that felony on your record.
So Trump is going to issue a bunch of pardons.
He's going to pardon himself.
So he'll be immune, but there'll be at least probably more than that because some of the people that are working behind the scenes, like we don't even know.
These people are Trump probably has private attorneys and a bunch of fixers more women are probably gonna come out and say that they were sexually assaulted Maybe by Trump.
Maybe not by Trump by people in his administration and I need folks to know it is the job The job of the Democrats to investigate all of that and to bring all of that to light and to bring those people to justice because if they don't this is why I think people are gonna diverge a little bit because the American people are gonna want real tangible results and lower prices
Okay, fair enough.
But if all of those things that took place, especially the things that we were not aware of in the Trump administration, if they're not brought to light and if they're not investigated, not only will they continue, it will have a profound effect on democracy moving forward.
So if there are federal crimes that took place that people just sweep under the rug, there's going to be a Democrat at some point or a Democratic socialist or a libertarian that will also follow suit and commit those same crimes.
So people are going to have to have a tremendous amount of patience.
That's number one.
Number two, we have no idea how bad it is.
We have no clue.
We will find out and I think that we should want to find out because this era that we are living through is going to be embarrassing.
So when when the future looks back on this, they're going to wonder how we could be so stupid.
And I still and I'm living through the era.
I'm broadcasting and narrating this era.
I still don't know.
How we can be this damn stupid all this information that we have the fact that people know so little and you would think it would spark some kind of curiosity is like how does democracy actually work people didn't know how their democracy worked until they lost it oh There is freedom of the press Donald Trump kicked the press out of the White House Talk about something that you can't do and I know that people have their feelings and opinions on the media as you should because
That's protected speech too.
But somebody has to keep these people accountable and tell the story and because they're telling a story that you may not like because you wear your political identity on your sleeve It doesn't mean that the media is wrong They're just saying stuff that you don't like and this is where the internet has softened Everybody because we only want to be surrounded by people that like us that love us that fawn over us and agree with Everything we say and everything we do even some of our worst impulses you will find a cohort of people some
somewhere on the vastness of the internet that will agree that your gigantic eyelashes look good and they'll tell you you're slaying.
So have some patience.
Gonna have the governor of Maryland in studio tomorrow Milwaukee County executive David Crowley looking forward to that conversation.
It's going to be a good and also come to find out a couple of things.
Former black guy president.
We still black.
former president Barack Obama has endorsed Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley which leads us to our YouTube poll question of the day you know we ask you guys a question every day why do we ask them a question every single day Xavier because we have
inquisitive minds
yes
do references matter, so if there's a person that ran for office a long time ago, and they were okay, they were decent, they were a good policymaker, they were a good executive, or they were a good legislator, does their stamp of approval on somebody else move your vote?
Now, this is a very subjective thing.
I know this much.
Democrats always endorse other Democrats.
It's like a family.
They endorse each other because they're all a part of the same crew It doesn't sway me But also I look at because I want to know who the candidate is what they've done Can they work in adverse situations?
Can they work across the aisle?
Are they willing to be bipartisan?
Do they see the common sense in policy or do they just see a common bond amongst their partisan colleagues?
I look at all that stuff, but again, I'm not normal
Well, some of y'all ain't normal either Why is it that black people are the only folks where our generational wealth goes backwards I'ma get rich and buy my mama a house.
Your mama didn't buy you one Why are you buying a house for your mama so when your mama dies she can leave you your house to you?
Isn't that crazy?
I'ma buy my mama a house.
Your mama should have bought you one.
Here's what you do.
You get rich
Buy yourself a house so you can push that forward to your children so your children have something Don't buy a house and give it to your mama buy your house and have your mama move in and just don't charge her any rent, but make her clean Gotta earn your keep mama bought this house now you Show responsibility to cook ends of clean.
I'm not gonna buy you a house because that's counterproductive But aren't we the only ones to do that?
I can't wait to buy my mama a house.
First of all, why are you buying a mama house?
Your daddy probably needs a house too.
Buy two houses.
Got two parents.
It just sounds backwards to me.
Buy a house for someone who can enjoy it as long as I could enjoy a house for myself.
That probably sounds classist, but...
My parents bought me a house.
I grew up in a house How would I look and I have a house?
Oh I'm gonna Buy my mother or another house so she can have to so she can leave me and my brother her two houses one of which I bought for her I'll make no sense like you say if you're rich or when you get richer than you are You don't need to buy your mother a house.
You'll buy a house for yourself And maybe if your mother wants to move in you probably allow that but you're not gonna hear mama
I love you, or just give your mother a bunch of money.
No, yeah, I'll just give them a bunch of money.
Her and my father can decide what they want to do with it.
What are you doing?
I have a house.
I don't need two houses.
She's like, I'm only one person.
What am I to commute between my houses?
Like, you're an idiot.
Maybe a vacation home.
Give her some money.
She can go on vacation whenever she wants.
Oh, no, like a vacation home like the White Star.
They have vacation homes.
You got to build up black equity, right?
So, you know, buy some real estate by a nice little lake house.
Oh, we have an interview today, too.
Viv's
I need Viv's show to be very good.
I want Viv to push the envelope.
I want her to make us think, think deeper.
I want her to challenge us.
I want to be able to listen to a show and be like, damn, that's good.
That's what I'm hoping for.
So we'll talk to Vivian King.
I believe she comes in the tanks.
I want us to 1030.
Correct.
Perfect.
Tomorrow we're doing the truth weekend guide.
Talk about the things that are happening going on in the city and we're moving into the fall now In fall activities are here the bucks are back The brewers just one they're headed to the NCLS good got my brewers Zip up on today Xavier.

I feel the same way about some of the fans
Exactly,
and
building.
Oh, I already know that I
How's that?
Fabulous.
He's
He should he looked like he saw a ghost.

Probably.
Damn it.

Oh,
So when I was in college, it was an unusual era because in the 1990s, parts of the 1960s were in vogue because my generation, however erroneous this was,
tried to bring back Woodstock.
I think it might have been the 20... Oh, was it the 25th anniversary of Woodstock?
When was Woodstock?
69 or 67?
69.
So in 99, I guess that would have been the 30th anniversary.
And everybody just fought and just burned everything down because my generation is destructive.
My generation also ruined...
Probably one of the greatest college street festivals in the country and I say that because people from all over the country Would do a couple of things they would go to Mifflin Street days in Madison They also would enjoy Halloween Halloween in Madison if you've never experienced it Was probably one of the most unique social gatherings anywhere in the contiguous 48 and we ruined that too people start burning cars and
We're just we've been kind of destructive, but we could get away with a lot of stuff because we weren't really on camera doing a bunch of things but the era of 1960s music, especially the Vietnam War era art and creativity because the ways in which protesting was exhibited.
So now you protest by posting a tweet.
Now you protest.
I guess you can get out in the streets and you can do a little shoe leather, do a little marching.
But the protesting then was so, it was such a part of the American culture and fabric that it infiltrated the music as well.
And so some of that, that music became very, very popular again through my era.
And I like to bring it all back now that I'm an old man.
So you hear all sorts of music on this show.
Play some hip hop for you.
Gotta make sure there's no swearing in it.
I'm not sure how blacks feel about hip hop because you all blame.
The behavior of the kids on the music that they listen to I Suppose there might be some truth to that If there is no guiding light in that child's life telling the child hey, don't listen to this person's instructions This is just entertainment and if there's no Real guidance for that young person then they may seek their guidance
You know in the lyrics of some of these rappers and the thing about these rappers they don't even live where they say they live They don't do that stuff.
They don't shoot anybody.
They live in the Hollywood Hills and all their kids go to private schools.
It's not even real.
It's just a bunch of fake stuff on yesterday's program I talked about how Just the appearance of a single African-American teacher
in a black child's academic sphere greatly improves their outcomes.
It reduces their suspensions, their expulsions.
Disorderly behavior is dramatically reduced.
There's a whole bunch of positives that come from that.
And the problem, and we have many, but one of the many problems is our teaching core.
is not as diverse as public students demographically have become.
White students in the K-12 system in America right now are about 44% of the student body population.
That is the lowest they have ever been, I believe, in all of American history.
Here's the problem.
Teachers in the United States of America are 79.9% white with the overwhelming majority of them.
Being women and they are political and they are organized so when you think of teachers in this country Think of a special interest group that can be and in some cases even more dangerous than a pack because these are the politically organized white women that control the education of a majority minority student body
That's problematic.
And I'm not saying the white women can't do it.
But when you put them together and you organize them politically, they are going to be out for self.
And I really want people to understand that unions can be a very good thing.
But unions represent their members.
If you're a steel worker and you work in the steel mill, you mill steel all day.
Wake up in the morning.
I gotta get to work cuz I'm gonna work at the steel mill I'm gonna I'm gonna mill me some steel and then you get to work and guess who you see Other people that mill steel and you say hey other people that mill steel.
Let's get up in here.
Let's mill this damn steel But you have a union
You want to make sure that your working conditions are safe and they are fair and your Compensation is good and you're getting the right benefits because damn it you mill that steel without you Ain't nobody milling the steel and so when you get together with your union to make sure that all the working conditions are
Perfect and all the conditions are safe and you have everything that you need and of course you're gonna need some training because every nine again They may change how they mill the steel and your union is representing you.
Do you think that as a steel mill?
Union represented an employee that when you go to work you care about the management and the owners of the steel mill company that are trying to rip you off every Chance they get they're trying to reduce your benefits.
They're trying to cut your pension They're trying to lower your wages.
They're trying to cut your hours No, you're going to be looking out for the other workers who work in the steel mill teachers and their unions do the exact same thing we for some reason Think their teachers and their unions are representing the children
Here's who represents the children, the taxpayers and the parents and the rest of society.
Children don't have any representatives other than those folks, the teachers, they represent themselves.
As long as we're clear on that.
And so with these teachers representing themselves, that's why NPS stayed out of in-person learning for a whole year longer than they needed to because the union was just like, no, it's still too dangerous.
Somebody might get COVID.
In 2022, everybody's vaccinated.
COVID numbers are going down.
Ain't nobody dying from it anymore.
But the NPST just like, nah, let's stay home for another year.
I think that year, that additional year where we did not have the routine of in-person instruction, not only did it put incredible strains on families, I think there was incredible learning loss that we are not going to get back.
but also some young people their their routines were so disrupted that they saw and created different routines outside of their academic coursework and some of the bad habits and some of the car breakings and the car theft like all of that stuff went up that that year that we lost of in-person learning and I'm gonna stand on that and history will likely tell that exact same story once it's studied at some point in the future I'm gonna take a break come back
Want to share with you some information on representation.
I would love it if if more African Americans saw teaching as a Noble and viable profession, which it is it is a professional career It's also a technical career and it is the kind of profession that fuels a society.
You cannot have a strong society.
You can't even have a democracy
If you don't have a strong core of teachers, this is why I support organizations like Teach for America.
I wish they were a little bit more diverse, but all of these other supporting organizations that find our teachers and train our teachers and give young folks opportunities to get in the classroom.
Like this is so incredibly important because we are getting to a point of diminishing returns because we got to stop relying on government, stop relying on your older persons and whatever other elected official to fix every goddamn problem in our community.
Because ladies and gentlemen, they're ill equipped to do so.
They can't, but we put more pressure on them and we relieve pressure on.
ourselves, we got to take way more responsibility for what our community looks like because we're outsourcing everything to the elected officials.
And they're not equipped to do that.
I want them to legislate.
I want them to make good decisions on where our tax dollars go, but I don't want them all up involved in social issues.
Social issues are the issue of the society.
Now elected officials can help, but we expect them to do too much.
I don't need my elected officials out here doing damn neighborhood cleanups.
Get in city hall and read stuff.
and write things down on paper and create a legislation that makes the streets better or something like that.
Do a bunch of stuff that we all don't want to do.
That's what you get elected to do.
You have everything else up to us.
Take a break, come back.
I'm going to share with you some other professions in which I believe African Americans are greatly underrepresented because when we do show up,
up in different professions.
A lot of times they change for the better because diversity is good.
The truth with Sherwin
Hughes will be right back.
and 1017thetruth.com.
People buy their parents houses because it's a flex for those who have moved up from a low socioeconomic status to a higher income bracket.
It's a flex, but it's not a sound investment.
And flexing, I guess, is a part of it, but it's so one of the we have enough as black people.
This is there's variation because some black folks haven't figured out.
I think we have enough history stacked against us, which created some of the disparities that we have today.
But we feel like we need to do all this catching up for lost time.
You can't.
We have this fetish for nostalgia, always wanting to go back.
We can't necessarily fix the problems of yesterday, but we can try and predict and mitigate the problems
of
Money in real estate is something that needs to look forward as time goes on Real estate accumulates in value and if you are buying a house for someone who cannot enjoy it long enough to really Get benefits out of the equity then it doesn't make sense the other thing about real estate that the black folks have not as a whole because this is not taught to us They don't teach us about money If you're ever curious about how a system can be Institutionally racist black people are not taught about money
We're not because if we knew about money what it actually does.
It's not an end itself It's a means to an end.
It's a means to a better life healthier life a longer life a more comfortable life It's a means to all of those other things money is not just what it can buy
It's not just being a consumer, because if that's the case, all we're doing is making those people rich, advancing their lead, and then what they do with the money is they inoculate themselves politically and they isolate us socially.
When you acquire real estate, the real flex is, and I talk about this as often as I can, I probably should have talked about it more, the first like year or two years that the truth was broadcasting, we had a partnership with Northwestern Mutual.
Because we wanted to use this platform to inform people about money and saving and investing.
I don't know how much good it did.
Maybe it did some good.
I don't know.
But the whole point of real estate is you don't sell it.
You keep it forever.
Forever.
Hand it down.
Make it so your kids never have a mortgage.
Think about how much money you paid in your life on rent.
And then if you bought a house add that up to think about how much money that is think about where you could have put that money Money is not so black folks are concerned with how much money we make and by flashing money and Hang up holding up these big wads of money and putting up to our ear money calling.
You're an idiot.
I Like when those people get robbed.
I love it You ever see some of those videos where somebody's like in their car and they're flexing they're holding their money up to their face and then somebody come you see a pistol in the frame And they take their money good
Put your money in an account brokerage account Not even a savings account brokerage where you can trade stocks and bonds and options But I can't talk about that because we don't even know what the hell that is We probably need to get back to financial literacy again, I think It's not how much money you make it's how much money you have that you don't have to touch I don't care if you make two hundred thousand dollars a year I know people that make that kind of money and are still living check to check now.
They have a lot of nice things But what's the point?
Still eating ramen.
No, it's fancy ramen It's not what you make You got some people their tax bracket is low because technically their income might only be $60,000 a year But their assets are deep into the seven figures So there's a conversation that needs to be had about money, but it's not it's not taught to us.
I'm always curious about
How do people learn about money?
I had a piggy bank since I was As far back as I can remember I had one and what happens is here.
Oh, here's a panty.
Oh, there's a nickel My mother would do laundry if there were change in our pocket so you go sure and put it in your piggy bank.
It didn't really seem like much Give it a year.
I still keep a change jar to this day
Because I had a piggy bank as a kid and I also have a much larger piggy bank that's in an institution But here's what I have found.
I don't really spend cash Like I used to I'm actually kind of getting back to cash Because once If I if I get paid and I do I said, okay Sherwin We're gonna go to the ATM.
We're gonna pull out X amount of dollars in cash and this is what we're gonna spend on the fun things
On the entertainment things if I want to go out to eat I might buy my groceries with the cash But then once that cash is gone, that's it Jack you ain't got no more money You need to be smarter about how you spend your money because I'm not going to take in more money out of the bank account Not going to get more money I've taken out my little cash and that's what I'm gonna spend for the two weeks sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but it's the attempt that counts
So when you spend cash you sometimes get changed.
I'm bothered by the fact that penny We don't have pennies anymore cuz sometimes I get ripped off you owe me 43 cents.
Why you only giving me 40?
Neither here nor there I suppose But then you buy something with cash and you'll get change Throughout a calendar year and this has worked for me.
I probably started this when I was in my early 20s and Exercise this financial philosophy into my 40s
If you take all of the change that you get from your cash transaction, not bills, but coin, and you put it away, I would have enough money at the end of the year, so come December to buy most of my Christmas presents for my family, just with the change that I got back from my cash transactions.
Now, the years in which I spent less cash, obviously I'd have to go into the bank account or maybe use the credit card.
to buy the rest of the Christmas gifts.
But oh, for sure, probably 50%, 60% of the money that I spend on Christmas gifts, which I sometimes hate.
I sometimes don't like buying gifts for people because I'm thinking myself, what did you do for me?
Did you do anything?
Why are you on the list?
You got to revise the list every so often.
You can't keep everybody on the Christmas list.
Some people need to get pushed off the Christmas list.
I'm Indian family, yes.
Extended family, worthy of a conversation.
Co-workers next to never Now we used to do a thing here at one-on-one seven the truth, but that stopped We used to have these little Christmas parties.
Oh, yeah, we did we had We had one right out here in the little third street market hall open bar.
That's a mistake Do not give radio people or media personalities or media people and open bar you will regret that Why was it raunchy you know
Our inner is what's crazy is that with all the people that have worked here and a lot of
folks Oh, just one of 1.72.
Let's let you talk about good karma brands.
I don't really fool with them.
They used to
be happy hours all the time like Probably every two weeks and they would send out a whole company email Hey, everybody meet us at the market hole bar at five o'clock.
We're all getting together great Carmes and actually use to sponsor a few of them back in the early days when we all liked each other and got along but then those stop and then they also stopped sending out
The invite will go to everybody all the brands so ESPN TMJ and the truth Then the truth got excluded from the emails of the happy hours because I was like, oh wow, this is weird.
I haven't received the happy hour Email in a long time, but then I might be at the market hall after five o'clock and I'd see everybody except us But so with our interactions with one on one seven the truth and all the people that have worked here It's never been sexual.
There's to the best of my knowledge.
There's been no humping
Which is good because that screws up a workplace now.
I can't say that for some of the other Like there are people that work for good karma brands that have gotten pregnant from other employees with
Interesting or that's
They were dating or no.
Oh?
They
little sneakily ain't got nothing to do with
I've just heard rumors.
I'm gonna take a break come back
and what's supposed to be dedicated to professions in which African Americans were underrepresented.
But money, I think, is a much more important conversation because I think some of us are still confused by it and what it really should be doing for us.

Aaron says that Chicago drill is scary rap movement.
I dig the music, but yikes.
And this person's name I. They spelled it out phonetically for us, but I don't remember how it's pronounced.
It's.
Uncle Uncle Jed, Uncle G. E. D. Productions says to Aaron yesterday on this chat, I was told that Chicago is better than Milwaukee because they murder more there.
That's an interesting concept.
But they can do it here because we are soft in Milwaukee.
Why do I even jump into these chats?
Not really, a city girl says.
Sure, when you have me considering, I'm going to call the Department of Public Instruction to see what the path to teaching would look like for me.
Straightforward you have a bachelor's degree if so UW Milwaukee used to offer a certification class I don't know how long it takes but if I'm not mistaken you can teach while you're being certified, but I think they would They would offer you a substitute teaching position first No, I think that um, I think it's good that more of us would want to be be teachers I but the
The problem though is by the time some not all some kids are fantastic.
They're so good and I I worry sometimes that a young person might listen To some of our shows some of our shows here on one on one seven the truth are very youth friendly Others are not and I don't want young people thinking That we hate them but there is a commonality because I think the good young people like these are the ones that are doing everything right
They're staying out of trouble.
They're doing their homework You know all these after-school programs and all these things you want young people to be involved in you understand that there are young people that are involved in that stuff We believe as old people that are completely disconnected from you that if we just have more programs the bad kids will all of a sudden say I'm gonna put this pistol down and now join the basketball league the kids that want to join the basketball leagues and want to do productive things do them
Because we spend more money on programs doesn't mean that more kids are gonna put the guns down and participate We're at a point of diminishing returns.
We're wasting money on that stuff You got a whole 80-page Milwaukee recreation guide where there's activities for literally everybody all of the time all year round by increasing the number of activities We're just spending more money for these classes to essentially sit
empty
Good young people don't like them either Problem though is that the good young people that are focused and have a future and want to be something Don't have a lot of influence over the young people that are destructive and If you have a cohort of young folk who are hellbent on being destructive because they can start early by the time they get to high school in a lot of cases it's simply to
late, especially if they're already in the criminal justice system.
So here you are as a new teacher teaching this freshman at whatever MPS school and they very well may eat you alive.
It's a profession that has a high turnover rate.
You have a lot of these first year and second year teachers.
They don't come back.
Something I share with y'all not too long ago.
I think the average is like seven years and they can't take it anymore.
Remember when teachers were 98 years old y'all remember having I remember having teachers so old They they didn't walk really very good.
They just sat and they taught from the desk They point a lot.
They didn't get up Remember big old fat teachers that had bad perms and smelled like coffee in Newports.
That's what I remember I'd never had teachers like that.
Oh, I could Lord I did when I think about it
Because I started school.
I started kindergarten in 1980.
1980, 1981 was my kindergarten year.
You gotta think about this for a second.
And teachers would routinely teach for 40 years.
They don't teach for that long.
Now they're 25 and out.
If I had a teacher, let's say between when I was in kindergarten and even fifth or sixth grade, and I did absolutely have some 40-year teachers.
No question about it.
because I remember my mother even remarking like god damn these bras are older than me some of my teachers started teaching before world war two and worked and taught me that is insane when you think about it if I'm in fifth grade in 1985 and my teacher had been teaching for 40 years
She started teaching when we dropped the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki And she's my fifth grade teacher.
I still can remember most of my teachers actually or there's a teacher in every grade That sticks out
Kindergarten I had miss warful first grade.
I had miss Rome second grade.
It was we had split classrooms I had miss heart and miss Calderon third grade.
I had my first male teacher His name was mr. Going fourth grade.
I had miss pout.
She recently died She was a wonderful soul.
She actually saw me for who I was and I'll never forget that
Fifth grade, I had Mr. Evans.
He was a jerk.
He had a curly afro.
Sixth grade, I had Mr. Seesmeyer.
He was a pervert.
Seventh grade, I had Mr. Duckins.
He was gay.
Eighth grade, I had Mr. Henninger, also gay.
And then by the time I got to high school, I had a whole bunch of different teachers.
Well, yeah, I remember those.
You sit in the classroom and you look at them for a whole year.
A whole year.
We didn't do one lot of class switching.
We stay in the same classroom and then the math teacher sometimes would either come in our classroom or our teacher would then teach us math.
We didn't do, class switching was more high school.
Elementary school, middle school, we didn't move around unless we went to gym.
And you gotta march in a single file line and line up alphabetically and you march to the gym like little soldiers.
and you play dodgeball and you try to hit somebody in the face as hard as you could.
We play dodgeball with little rubber balls.
We didn't use a little firm, foam, nerf balls until our arms got too strong because I remember having a very strong arm and I was going to beam Trisha Metzger in her face.
I love.
This is the truth with Sherwin Hughes on 1017 the truth the truth app and 1017 the truth.com
Last week I talked about this enslaved man who was an incredible artist he made clay pots and his name was David Drake and he was a very unique individual for a number of reasons not just because of his incredible talent to make these beautiful handcrafted clay pots he was literate and he would sign his pottery and he sometimes would
describe things on his pottery and because there were such important artifacts, historical artifacts, his pots that weren't even really owned by him because he was property, found their way into many museums all over the country as an example of craftsmanship of slaves and I just have no idea why white people are so incredibly fascinated by our creativity.
They believe that when they enslaved us, they enslaved everything and everything that we were, including our creativity, was shaped by slavery.
A lot of times it was shaped by slavery, but not in the ways in which they thought.
And so his pottery, Smithsonian museums, museums in Boston and also come to find out at the Milwaukee Art Museum right here, we had a still do.
a David Drake pottery piece.
Now, the family did something that I want more black families to do.
Go and get your ancestors artifacts because legally you can take ownership and agency of them.
Or you can sell them.
So what the family did, the descendants of David Drake is they started an LLC.
and they went around to all these different museums and they collected their ancestors pottery and they made deals with these museums.
You can purchase them for millions of dollars or we the family the ancestry of David Drake will maintain ownership of our ancestors artwork and you can lease them from us and that is the agreement as of September of 2026.
that our Milwaukee Art Museum has with the Drake family, and I say that to say this, we only have two docents at the Milwaukee Art Museum that are African American.
There are a total of 200 different docents.
A docent is a tour guide that specializes in artifacts and art, the people at museums that give tours.
Now when we have like traveling exhibits, there might be a docent who
Specialized in like ancient Egyptian art and so then that dosing will be activated while that Egyptian artifact is on display Then those are the docents that would be giving the tours you see of the 200 docents that the Milwaukee art museum has there's only Two that are African-American there are 80 that are currently in regular rotation.
There's an additional 120
that are activated when specific and certain exhibits come to town, you see.
And that made me think about something.
There was also an article that appeared in the Journal Sentinel and these two black docents remarked on something.
Whenever there is a white tour guide who is explaining an exhibit from an African American.
It's always from the same limited and ignorant perspective of these people were slaves and look at what they did while they were slaves They weren't even real humans, but can you believe this art?
That is what these two African American docents were remarking on when white people, white docents, explain our art.
They can't see past the aspect of slavery.
They cannot see the humanity and the human being that created that art.
That is why we need more diverse docents that can tell the real story of our people.
Why people are miserable at telling our story because we still have to fit very neatly into their limited and ignorant understanding of us and we still see it to this day.
While it is very frustrating for us because we know who we are, or at least we know who we are way better than they do, their ignorance is troubling because they have so much power and so much influence still.
They still have the ability to shape the perception of African Americans.
But I say we need to take that ignorance and use it to our advantage because when somebody is ignorant, they don't know information and they're devoid of facts.
You can manipulate them in ways that they'll never see coming.
And that makes you a dangerous, dangerous man or woman.
Take advantage of their ignorance.
I often remark that.
Most individuals see things as either this or that.
It's literally it's black or it's white.
They don't have the critical thinking skills to see the gray area in between.
I want each and every one of you to live in that gray area because then you can achieve levels of success that nobody even saw.
That's another thing about them.
I think it's so angry when we get successful.
But we also.
Become so proud of our success that we want to brag and tell the world be very careful and cautious about doing that because first of all You're gonna have haters obviously, but then once you tell people what you're doing and how you're doing it They will be working very very hard to take you down.
So please build in silence ladies and gentlemen.
You will thank me later So I was looking at this this article
Milwaukee Art Museum's two black docents just want to quote talk about the art is the title of this article and it got me thinking we're so underrepresented in so many different areas and so many different professions yesterday we talked about teaching and just the appearance of a single black teacher ladies and gentlemen between a child's kindergarten year and third grade
They do better on math scores, reading scores.
They have less disciplinary problems.
It is remarkable, let alone if this child had a black teacher from kindergarten through when they graduated from high school.
Now, that doesn't mean that just having a black teacher is going to improve all of those things.
But it's measurable compared to when they have white teachers in their academic environment, because white people still have this inability to understand black people and black children and black creativity.
And we communicate differently.
We're We're emphatic people.
We're emotional people.
We talk a certain way that scares little timid white people's white folks gonna have all these damn guns They scared everything including their shadow.
I'll surprise more white folks don't shoot guns at their own shadow.
What is this black thing following me?
Oh, it's my shadow.
Oh I Can have an impact on our children when our children are being instructed by someone who's first
understanding of us is to be afraid, not just afraid of us physically, but afraid that if we get too smart, too intelligent, too critically thinking and too powerful, we will do to them what they did to us.
They don't want to think about that because that would really suck for them.
But, you know, karma.
Tina Johnson and Howard Austin are as fly as they come.
The only two black docents and a cohort of over 280 of whom actively give tours at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
They walk through the Milwaukee Art Museum with the brisk confidence of those who know where to find rare gems in a jewelry store.
They enthrall visitors with little-known facts about the museum's African-American art collection, like the rich history of enslaved Africans that inspired
Martin pure years understanding and abstract sculpture maroon or the name of every forgotten historical figure represented in Tavares stray hands hover collage the two also were
This is the truth with Sherwin Hughes on 1017 the truth the truth app and 1017 the truth calm
Three of the truth with Sherwin Hughes tomorrow at 9 a.m.
Will be joined by Walkie County executive and Democratic candidate for governor David Crowley someone had recently requested I get David back on the program your request has been granted My conversation with the county executive and with his special guest Marilyn governor Westmore will be less about
What David Crowley is going to do for
us
record.
representative He has been county
executive since 2020 you can get a real good feel and understanding for the kind of leadership he exhibits by what he has already done And I believe that he will be able to do more of that on a much grander scale and have a much more significant impact on the state of Wisconsin positively certainly better than Tom Tiffany
But I want to ask him what he needs from us.
Always asking them what they're going to do for us.
What can we do for him?
He might need you to knock on some doors.
He might need you to talk to and engage some of your neighbors.
You know that we need a very strong defense in Wisconsin.
And I don't know if people have been made aware of this between Josh Call, who was the Wisconsin Attorney General.
I had him on the program a couple of few days
ago,
Against a Republican Trump or between Josh call and outgoing governor Tony Evers We have been so protected in Wisconsin from Donald Trump's absolute worst impulses and most people don't even know it Because when government is working you're not even supposed to notice it.
It's supposed to be sublime It's supposed to be in the background government is supposed to do its work so you can continue yours uninterrupted
We have been very well protected.
There's something like 70 times our state of Wisconsin Attorney General on behalf of us have sued the Trump administration and in most of those cases we have won so we need someone who is going to
protect and shield and dare I say, inoculate Wisconsinites, residents, voters, citizens, non-citizens alike from the worst impulses of Donald Trump.
Now, here's what I want to put on your radar now.
Not only is this the history-making endeavor, but let's just keep that amongst us because we might lose some white folks if they find out how history-making this is for us because, you know, their prices are too high as well.
Inflation is getting them to.
They don't care about the history-making aspect.
Fair enough, this is something for us.
They're gonna question this election.
Okay, they're gonna question every vote They're gonna try and claim fraud they're gonna say that there was a bunch of illegal people voting They're gonna say we know that ahead of time.
There's only one way to combat that We vote in numbers that are so high
That there won't be anything to challenge now if this race is typical and I don't want it to be but I fear it will be because History has been very consistent when it comes to statewide elections going back to 2016 when Hillary Clinton was running for president Even in Governor Tony Evers to re-election terms even in Ron Johnson beating Mandela Barnes for the US Senate back in 2022
Our statewide elections, whether it be presidential contests or gubernatorial ones have been decided by about 30,000 votes between 20, 25 and 30,000 votes.
There are probably just under four million eligible voters in the state of Wisconsin and for our entire statewide elections to be decided by essentially the size of Wauwatosa.
It's troubling.
But it also leaves room for error, confusion and misinformation.
So I'm going to ask the county executive what he needs from us.
And I hope that we are able to oblige him.
Now, let's also go into this election with very realistic expectations because a lot of folks when it comes to politics and elections, they don't have realistic expectations.
when Barack Obama ran for president and won and then Barack Obama ran for president and won again there were some unrealistic expectations Barack Obama had to be president of the entire United States including the people that even Barack Obama didn't like he had to represent them too we believe that for some reason because the African-American community has a like a whole history of being marginalized and disrespected and in
intentionally harm.
There have been policies of cruelty aimed at us.
We think that if we get a black elected officials, they're going to fix all of that stuff.
I got to share something with you now.
There is no position that you can be in as a black person in the United States of America where you can be above their Institution of racism what David Crowley is going to do is he's going to deal with racism from a much higher level in a much different perch But please don't think that because he gets elected governor and I hope he does and if he does it is entirely up to us That all of a sudden racism is going to go away Do you understand that when white folks see us achieve and excel in a system that they built for themselves to achieve and excel in they get more racist
We think that if we do everything right and we follow all the rules and we pull our pants up We don't listen to hip-hop music and we speak the king's English and we get married and stay married and we have a Beautifully behaved children.
We think their white folks will accept us No, what happens is they become comfortable because they believe that the system that they curated for themselves also works on us.
They're just as racist They're just less vocal about it The more we achieve the more racist they become the more jealous they become
They wonder how our success is going to impact them.
And let me also tell you this, when and if David Crowley gets elected governor of the state of Wisconsin, he's going to be representing millions of white people, millions more white people than black people.
In fact, Wisconsin ain't even got a million black people.
We're lucky if it's 300,000 of us that are currently free and not incarcerated.
We're lucky if it's 300,000 black folks in the entire state.
He is going to be representing them.
And here's what I'm going to tell you.
We're going to have to let him.
Now, there are policies that he can enforce.
There are ways in which he can impact our community.
I also believe that David Crowley is going to have a soft spot for Milwaukee because this is where he is from.
We raised that man.
He's not going to forget where he came from.
Scott Walker did forget where he came from.
Scott Walker, when he ran for governor, said, while he was kind of executive, think about this, Scott Walker essentially
Similar paths as David Crowley County executive and then running for governor When Scott Walker ran for governor he went all around the state saying you don't want the rest of the state to turn into Milwaukee.
Here's what's crazy He was county executive of Milwaukee County campaigning around the state and basically saying you don't want the rest of the state to turn into the place in which I am currently the executive
That was so disrespectful.
I don't believe that David Crowley is going to do that because he has seen firsthand when he was in the legislature and also as county executive, how Republican legislators have punished this city, how they have put unnecessary and unfair rules on us, how they have kept us cash strapped in the city of Milwaukee, having David Crowley as a governor, someone who has had to deal with these issues uniquely.
And specifically, it's going to be very, very good for us.
So when he comes here tomorrow, first of all, we're going to be in our best behavior now.
We ain't going to be acting silly.
We're going to keep it serious.
We're going to keep this program between the ditches.
I don't know why I'm telling you guys that I need to be saying this to myself, but we're going to ask him what does he need from us?
He might ask you for a little couple of three, four, five hours.
He might say, I need you.
I need some more money.
You know, Tom Tiffany is being funded by three billionaires.
I don't think Tom Tiffany his Republican constituents.
I don't even think they like him enough to give him a little two three four five hours We actually like David Crowley.
I give him a little two three four five hours I've been financially supporting David Crowley since I Probably wrote him his first check when he was in the legislature.
Certainly wrote him one as county executive So David wants a little three four five hours Give him a little three four five y'all are rich.
I've seen some of you.
Some of you are very wealthy people I've seen what some of you drive I've seen some of the diamonds in
Jewelry that you wear plus I Don't want to be hyperbolic here.
I don't want to exaggerate Because you know, I don't I don't ever exaggerate I Probably have within reason I gotta be Gotta be serious here.
I probably have Five billion listeners probably somewhere around between three and five billion roughly if
Each of my three to five billion listeners.
Gives David Crowley one.
No, no, no, not even give a 50 cents.
You'll have between five hundred million and two point five billion dollars in campaign contributions.
Now, don't 50 cents is kind of petty.
Give him at least two, three, four, five dollars.
Y'all can spare it.
Y'all spend that much money on vodka and coffee.
Let's talk to Hello Al, how are you doing today?
So
I'm doing my only thing I was gonna say is when he come on hopefully he don't take a page out of Cavalier book Please don't make black people look like they destitute it like they're a bunch of alcoholic drunks and dopeheads Please talk about the great things you done for yourself and do not take that page out his book is white white white white white
talk about the great things you have accomplished.
That's all I ask, you know, because we get too much of black people being portrayed as if they're poor or mama didn't have this or daddy didn't have this.
Let's not, let's stop generalizing and doing the black people pity, because if they're going to call you in, where are they going to call you?
So let's not do that.
The question I would like to ask you so kindly.
And I know you found, I don't know if you would do this.
If you could have a die-hard white supremacist command and a die-hard Republican Jew, come to your setting at one time and you could ask them a way of questions.
So we the people to understand their viewpoints because this way nobody can hide behind the vote.
And they true racism
can be alive.
And nobody has to bow their head or say, it's anti-Semitic, because you have a way of answering questions where you're not going to back them in a corner, but you're going to try to understand why they think that way.
Why, what are the viewpoints on this?
Because we have so many people who don't use logic.
And you have so many people, no matter how much you set them on a toilet, they're still going to be full of sugar, honey, ice, tea.
But if you ask both of them to come, they both can speak their truth.
And there will be no lies detected.
Nobody can say anti-Semitic.
A real diehard racist can be a racist.
And we all can have a hundred standards.
But if you can make that happen, or you could talk to the.
general manager or the big wigs that's listening, we can all move forward.
And then we won't have to play no hide-and-seek or one ducking and dodging or one laugh or the hell up or one saying that.
There are just chosen ones when they could just take a DNC task of, hey, everybody don't need no DNA test to push hate.
So you shouldn't have no problem taking a DNA test to show your truth.
So I will ask you that so kindly and I'll hang up and listen and most of all have a great day and do something kind for yourself.
Thank you.
Why not?
Because I don't want to waste airtime that I believe is precious and valuable on people that aren't worth the air that they breathe.
That's number one.
Number two, the people that would listen to that program, especially African Americans, are far too emotional to hear the kind of ignorance and hate.
that they will spew and so our autumn and I've done stuff like this before and it always ends up the same way because the YouTube comments will be full and the phone lines will be open of black people trying to plead their case as to why they're wrong and why they're ignorant and why they have the wrong idea about us whenever we are exposed to their honesty about how they truly feel about us we feel a need to explain or we say well I'm not
ignorant, I have a job, I own a home, my kids are well behaved, so I'm not going to waste any time with that.
But also, I know how they think.
I tell y'all how they think every single day.
We don't need to hear it from them because to truly be anti-racist and to understand racism as an institution, as a matter of literal science that they created, you have to be able to think like a racist.
and in accomplishing being anti something you also have to know and understand the ignorance of the people that are pro the thing you are anti they think that black people are a lower order of being they think that scientifically we are deficient they think that genetically we are deficient they think that we shouldn't have positions of power they think that we have smaller brains they think that we are
better off being slaves.
I think that we have no rights that should ever be afforded to a white person.
This is literally how they think.
I don't need them to say that.
They have been telling us that literally since the beginning.
And so it doesn't add more credibility to their ignorance.
What it does is it showcases it and I won't do that here.
There are so many other places, ladies and gentlemen, and I appreciate Al's.
You know, desire to have me question them, but I'm not going to debate them, folks.
I'm also not going to let them take this opportunity because they would love it.
You think they would love it?
I'm not going to speak for the Republican Jew because I could care.
I couldn't care less about that.
But but a racist white supremacist, they would love to be on a microphone at a black radio station and spew hate directly.
They would love it.
I'm not going to give them what they love.
And so for some, it might be very entertaining for me.
It would be damaging and detrimental because this is what I got to keep in mind that most people don't see the things that are talked about and discussed on these airwaves live forever.
The podcast don't go away.
The YouTube don't go away.
Someone's recording of this on their device.
does not go away.
I don't want to put that out there into the universe for people to hear forever because then they will question my goddamn sanity and you already questioned my sanity.
OK, so no.
If I want to hear anything like that, tell me, check out Jubilee.
Well, you can hear me.
Check out Jubilee.
It's a YouTube channel and they have all kinds of discussions with people like that will not, you know, those.
Examples that he gave but pretty close
Man, I think people would probably want to hear me Debate them because I obviously could refute Everything that they're saying with facts But it doesn't matter though.
It doesn't matter because when somebody is so far gone Facts don't matter.
It is a it's a fantasy world that they have concocted for themselves But they're able to live in that fantasy world because if you're a white person in this country right now
Everything essentially was created and curated for you and anything that is for someone else you take great offense to But I understand why they're scared They're losing their country.
I mean they never really had it But they're seeing You know the economy Tumble and crumble and they're blaming Mexicans and they're blaming us.
Oh black people going to college are getting educated.
That's what the issue is No, it's not
For a long period of time you didn't your ancestry didn't have to compete With ours because they wouldn't let us read they wouldn't let us participate They wouldn't let us vote Our institutions were separate but unequal.
It's easy to be successful when you ain't got no competition You give a black person a little bit of education.
Just teach us to read a little bit We'll write the goddamn novel teach us to do math just a little bit.
We'll be a goddamn engineer
Yeah, I teach us a little.
You ain't got to teach us everything.
Just teach us a little bit.
Just meet us halfway.
We'll get the rest.
And they weren't ready for that because the world that they grew up in was one of fantasy of where there was no competition from black people professionally.
That's what their grandparents told them.
That's even what their parents told them.
But their world is much, much different because the world is much more diverse.
That's why they're afraid of diversity because they will get beat.
buy a black person and that's the worst possible thing they can have because they internally believe that we are a lower order of human being and imagine not getting the job or not getting the promotion you lost to somebody that's black that's why they say well I didn't get the job because you know these companies have quotas they got a higher certain number of black people
Are you insane?
Do you think that there's a company anywhere in America that is motivated by profit that would just hire a black person to say that they hired one?
Are you kidding me?
If that black person is not performing, if that black person is not producing profit, there's no way that company would consider them.
Now, black businesses will hire people just to hire people without them generating profit.
Now, that's the absolute truth, but why companies don't do that?
Black folks just be giving other black people a chance will run the goddamn company completely into the ground ain't got no experience got a terrible resume, but don't they're loyal And we'll run some of the completely into the damn ground so that's more of a black thing Black folks hire other black people that have no business being anywhere near any kind of profession Well, we what they got a lot on a plate.
Yeah, but they suck And we just got to be honest come and take a break come back talk to Derek on the other side.
That'll be a doozy

Dan wouldn't risk the embarrassment.
Dan O'Donnell is stupid.
But there are some people, we gotta be honest, y'all.
If you came here for political correctness, turn this off and don't ever turn them back on again.
There are some people that have microphones that are stupid, and they have their microphones precisely because they are stupid, because there are other stupid people that will gravitate towards stupid hosts.
Just like not not ignorant.
I'm misinformed like willfully like a stupid human being Dan O'Donnell, I don't know what he was.
Oh, I called When I said Bob Donovan was in the closet gay man Dan O'Donnell so Bob Donovan who was a Republican used to be an alderman in Milwaukee For a long time and then he ran for the Wisconsin State Assembly.
I believe that's disregarding for
And I called him what he was in the closet gay man because he got caught Doing sexually explicit things with other men in the men's bathroom At the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and it took place in 1991 he was there was a sting operation in which Bob Donovan was caught in a public restroom
Doing lascivious things with other men.
Here's why that was a problem I was 17 at the time and going on tours of different colleges and I was in high school at the time and I didn't know I could have went into that bathroom where Bob Donovan was Doing lewd things with other men because that's what that particular bathroom was known for and then Bob Donovan got sighted he got a ticket Straight men don't do that
Okay, and so I read the damn article and there's dozens of them about when Bob Donovan got caught in a men's bathroom doing Lude and lascivious things with other men.
It's illegal by the way case you were wondering I Just simply read the ticket.
I read the stories and read the article.
You know Dan old Donald
So two hours of his radio show to personally attack me because I brought up something that was complete and total objective fact about Bob Donovan that Bob Donovan even admitted to doing.
He's like, oh, that was a long time ago.
I paid the ticket.
That's over with.
I'm thinking myself.
But is it?
You know, Bob Donovan also ran for mayor Cavalier Johnson beat him, actually.
That's who Chevy beat to become mayor of the city of Milwaukee.
So Dan O'Donnell, here's one thing that you don't do.
And I'm doing it, too.
You shouldn't do that.
Don't ever take.
and use your airwaves and your airtime to talk about another dude for two hours.
People I went to high school with, because I never listened to Dan's show, because why would I do that?
But people I went to high school with texted me and inboxed me, like Sherwin.
A lot of white boys I went to school with are conservative.
Sherwin, Dan O'Donnell was talking about you.
Dude went through my whole resume, made me look like a star.
And so he was like, yeah, everybody.
Call good karma brands and have sure one fired and so Good karma brands defended me and said yeah We're not gonna get rid of one of our hosts because a competing radio station doesn't like what somebody said so they put out a little press statement whatever But then I also cuz Dan was telling people To listen to my show like
yeah,
everybody tune in because I was when my show started at 10 o'clock He's like yeah, everybody tune in at 10 o'clock now.
I knew that they were coming
I also know stupid conservative white people and how I can romanticize them as well.
So I just talked about school choice and you wouldn't believe the feedback I got.
You know, Sherwin, I had the wrong idea about you.
I'm like, you idiot, dummies.
Let's talk to someone who's not a dummy.
Hello, Derek.
How are you?
I'm doing well, Sharon.
This is Sherwin.
I'm doing very well.
Anyway, the reason for the call, they had somebody here.
When I was watching on PBS, it was done with the two Omaha's.
It was very interesting.
It was what now?
What did you see on PBS?
The two Omaha's, it was a documentary.
It was called Two Omaha's, a documentary on PBS.
And it deals with some of the same things that you're having in Milwaukee.
But I think it's a little bit worse because the white guy who was doing it, he always thought, well, I live on the right side or whatever.
And everything is going well for me and everything else like that.
He didn't realize there was the other half of Omaha.
A lot of the blacks live in Omaha, live in North Omaha.
And then when he was learning, then he was speaking to his father about his father's ideas about blacks and racism.
Very interesting.
And he was just shocked to start when he was speaking to his father.
very good, very good, good, uh, documentary.
And, uh, uh, in some, the same way, uh, the, the white people in Omaha who have money live on the west side and the blacks live in North Omaha, kind of like the north side of Milwaukee.
But I think it may even be worse, but it was the most important thing is that you were talking about father's, uh, feelings towards, uh, black people, where you got these ideas from.
Okay, thank
very good
What is the reason why we bring that up Sherwin?
The reason I bring that up because you talked about racism and Milwaukee and this racism just hasn't started in Milwaukee before that I just I was just
You can learn a lot of things from, uh, from watching this from, uh, even though you live in Milwaukee.
What you're saying, Eric,
Yeah.
And that's a lot of times it's even worse.
And that most important thing is that the, the white people don't even realize that they're, what they're saying or what they're doing is racist.
And they had to be called on to the color for their racism.
Huh.
Sometimes white people are ignorant of
us.
Yeah.
All right, then.
Yeah, I was just sharing that with you.
I think I think you're going to enjoy it a lot.
Thank you for the recommendation.
OK, guys, in case you guys were wondering, Omaha has segregation there, too.
There's blacks and Omaha that live separate and sometimes white people don't even know Like sometimes when white people use the n-word they don't know that that's a racist word.
They didn't there So a couple things about that Aside from their ignorance stop explaining racism the white people they invented it stop it
Stop explaining it to him trying to make him understand it.
They know exactly what they're doing.
It is their system Okay, we don't have to do that It's good when they identify themselves because then we can figure out how to maneuver around them.
But yeah, we don't have to Set a bunch of white people down then we try that during George Floyd Hi white people sometimes police murder us
really
Yeah, it happened a several other times for it did I never knew until George Floyd got killed I thought the you people were just resisting arrest.
Yeah, not always.
I don't take a break come back Grab another telephone call on the other side if you want to call us and Talk about racism might exist in like Battle Creek, Michigan, Fort Lauderdale, Florida Is there a documentary on the segregation and racism of Schenectady, New York?
What about Bloomington, Minnesota Sacramento, California?
What about San Fernando Valley?
I Want to know about all of the places where racism might also exist.
I should ask Bailey Coleman about Seattle
He didn't
Yeah, you know what?
She was really disappointed.
You didn't come down and talk about relationship stuff with her.
Did you not listen to our whole second hour?
Yeah, what?
That's a good question.
Yeah, she's out the game.
She hasn't dated anyone in a year and a half.
I mean, yeah, a year and a half or two years.
Bailey don't do
I can't drag her down in the gutter with me.
Yes we can.
I set it all up for you.
just, that's a lie.
The truth with Sherwin Hughes will be right back.

Let's talk to someone who I believe.
is personally responsible for the global warming crisis.
And that's Bob.
Hello, Bob.
Hello,
Sharon.
Let me just tell you what I don't understand.
I don't got that much time.
All right.
In 2026, why we have to wait to November to get rid of a cruel
and dumb man.
The military protects this Congress.
Why don't you protect the American people?
When you say Kennedy, right then he should have been impeached and gone.
Somebody who can't even read understands Trump is ridiculous.
I
just
it's hard for me to understand.
I have no idea what you're talking about.
No idea
How we had to wait till November the third to get rid of a cool Cool
dumb president Trump so you think this November 3rd we You're upset that we have to wait hold on but I need to understand this because if I don't understand Nobody does we have what you're saying is you're upset that we have to wait until
this upcoming November 3rd to get rid of Trump.
Is that what you're upset
about?
He should have been gone.
He should have been gone.
mean,
might get enough senators to impeach is behind.
Who knows?
We might.
You don't think so.
No, you need 67.
You're not going to get 60.
Yes.
It's just
terrible.
Okay.
Not in
2026.
Not in 2026.
Not a man like dumb.
He's
He needs to be made an example of what the American people will put up with and he don't I can I can't see how they put up with a man like that He got
Unbelievable to last and we can't get we can't you know stop him from doing stuff till November the third Bob, you know,
I know it's not believable.
Not not with the intelligence.
I don't that person like me.
You know,
In
them
How in 2026 we keep a dumb cruel man in office and we can't get rid of not get rid of maybe get rid of the women thing is beyond my understanding.
We're smarter than that.
We're smarter than that.
All
got one thing,
I'm gonna
the president of that nation that loves American consumers because if you put it up for sale if you put it on Amazon Americans will buy we fund entire nations economies by what we consume because we are in fact a consumer economy don't believe me look at your credit card statement you buy stuff
I Just went on Amazon and spent $300 yesterday, but I really
suits?
brand
Oh god.
No.
Yeah No, I do that waste of money.
It's all made the same place Not paying for that Nike.
I'll get the Amazon brand koofandy and shingtao Whatever the I don't care what the brand is as long as it looks good and feels good.
I guess that's all it matters Yeah brands, huh?
I'm not one of those kind of new girls
It's like Nike tracksuit.
It feels good.
You know when you work out and you know, especially designed for, you know,
fashion and comfort.
Oh,
Oh, you're not gonna in the
Really?
Jim's are foul.
Well, you swipe down the machine before you use it.
I got to wipe down a machine.
I got a treadmill in my house.
So if I'm there because I'm not going to go to a place, I'm not going to pay a place to use their equipment because really all I need is some free weights and a treadmill anyway.
That's all you need.
Get a little cardio, put a little incline on there.
Three, four days a week.
Keep the doctor away when I'm not going over.
Jim, Jim's are disgusting.
And the people, Jim's are kind of like the idea of exercising and working out is very important.
And I will do more of it in the wintertime because I'm more sedentary in the wintertime.
But the idea of a gym is great the people that go to gyms gross like baseball great some baseball fans gross if American Family Field relax their rules a little bit and said hey You can wear whatever you want.
I think it holds about 42,000 people give or take if they said hey Brewer's fans and general
working class lower order dirtier whites wear whatever you want.
Half of them wouldn't wear shoes.
Well, they said that we can wear whatever we want.
So I left my crocs at home.
You are obsessed with dirty feet.
Because it's nasty.
no, no, no, no,
those is one woman.
Max Lee.
You would like to say I have some things.
Oh, I mean, I have a nice chocolate woman.
She's very nice woman.
And she doesn't have dirty feet.
She's very put together and very smelling good.
And
You know, it's just your turn.
And it's not.
Oh, yes.
Oh, it's I'm fine.
I'm sharing is caring.
You don't really need to do it more than once but be a side dude and just The levels of sophistication that women can employ when they are trying to hide and be sneaky is is worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize Because a lot of times their reputation is contingent upon their ability to keep a secret and it's really it's art It is a thing of beauty the layers and levels
secrecy that women can build up and like they have like whole communities of people that will protect them and the delusions that they live in and even if she does get caught it's a man's fault because he wasn't doing this that and the third like it's it is something to witness it really is I'm well I want to tell y'all something I really shouldn't say in fact I should say
yeah
say I
truth with Sherwin Hughes will be right back.
No,
Yes, you should you just told me that story and it was great.
It's ugly.
No, it's not It's just a fact of life.
I was a victim
see you being a victim and you're trying to project that upon me I am
Know that a I Mean you're still young man.
I get it when I was your 35.
Yeah, I was why I was I was a fool So that when I was what year was that 2010?
Yeah, I was not cool at 20 in 2010.
I Was just starting to make like real serious money, too.
I lost my absolute home I bought myself a convertible for Christmas.
I love I was having midlife crisis when I was your age Yeah, I was a fool
But it was a necessary thing to go through.
Oh, I had a lot of fun This is a this is a man 35 is a fun a Fun time.
Yeah, I'm gonna have a fun weekend.
You would love I mean, I don't think he would love to know what I'm doing, but it'll be fun unless
Okay
guys
good.
My good time.
You would probably be like, oh, man, you're you be
Yes.
Maybe you
I'm sure you don't like you don't like spending time with nice ladies
You know, I think I'll be a bachelor first my life and they start
telling you about their problems.
Well, yeah, and they drive big and then
to go.
That's why I talk to intelligent women, you know, people that are teachers, you know, smart business women, you know, those these kind of people I talk to are ends, you know, people that nurses.
Oh, yes, I know these things.
But that's about people that are college educated.
Why are you hold a car bro?
Why are you trying to prove it to us?
I'm not a full piggy bank.
I see you.
I see you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Dirty feet.
No, no.
Dirty feet is a no no.
For real.
That's just if you see a girl with gold under the weight and run dead, dead ass for real, that it can't be no good can come from that.
And what I want to talk about is, last time I talked, we were talking about, we were talking about the boars.
And then, you know, you came up with a, and what arguments, you know what I'm saying, you can have to have to put her kids up here.
And I was wondering about that.
The best thing you can probably tell her is that compared to basketball and football,
For the folks blackboards baseball pays way more Way way
A lot of that you're doing a lot of stands, you know It ain't like football where you know saying you got you got like 60% of the plans were you possibly you know, I'm from Vegas
forward on the ground, and all that stuff.
They didn't see CPE or whatever like that.
And you know, basketball, not basketball,
you
didn't get a harder argument for that lady because, you know, they got guaranteed contract or whatever like that.
And the basketball player association being real good with taking care of their players.
I just wanted to tell that, that went out right quick.
But real quick,
I was thinking about what we're all cool.
Um, we got away from racing.
It's a no show, whatever, like that.
Um, you're all, you're all cool.
You're all cool partners.
They just call.
He just called me.
You always, you know, you know, you don't have to give them to us.
But anyway, what I want to say is off with With all the BS Trump been doing Why wouldn't why wouldn't you feel that way?
Why why wouldn't anybody feel like this dude out of here as soon as possible
36% if you've got 36% of the people in America saying We don't like you that's where that's where yet Trump at 36% right now and with all the all the BS he doing Why wouldn't you like he do the uh a clear and present danger to the security of America?
He just he just said he just said blow up blow up at light.
That's cool
