Thank you for tapping in with your girl, Jazz Tyler.

If you are just now joining us, we are talking about exactly what it is that has your attention.

I was reading an article based out of Australia in the Prime Minister.

I decided to push for legislation called My Feed My Way, which is an initiative that will give Australians control over their social media algorithms.

And yes, I'm talking about social media, but not in the way that everybody else talks about it.

I am talking about self-accountability, right?

If you are a person like me who loves scrolling, and baby, I'll be on there cracking up, it's all types of stuff that I be seeing.

But what I realized is that some of those things especially From my point of view because I have to be on there right with the work that I do here at the station as well as the school and other various things It requires me to be on social media But one of the things that I noticed is that social media the algorithm is starting to dictate my mood based off of what is popping up so

One minute you got this popping up something about food the next minute you got this popping up something about violence then it shifts over to Celebrities then it shifts over to something else and now you are scattered brain, right?

That is for different emotions You are feeling at the same time and subconsciously you don't even understand what is happening So you find yourself feeling away once you you know decide to put the phone down and you can't figure out why you're feeling this way Well, it's because your algorithm is all over the place

What you are watching is all over the place and it's not to say you are dictating the algorithm is simply saying that maybe you watch you know two videos of this recipe and two videos from this news station and now the algorithm Automatically assumes that this is something that you want to watch right and that might not be the case obviously

Every day for me, I don't want to look at the same thing.

So the legislation that they're pushing forward, I actually am not opposed to it.

I think that there should be an opt-in and opt-out option as it pertains to your algorithm when it comes to social media.

And one of those things that I was talking about and mentioning before we went to break is what some of these things can do to you subconsciously, right?

So, you know, for example, women.

We see a lot of different women online who are successful, a lot of different women online who are especially celebrities.

I'm not really into the celebrity gossip in their business, but a lot of people are.

And what happens is, whether it's a celebrity or not, you begin to view this person, their life, what they have going on, right?

The husband, the ring, the house, the car, the perfect children, the success, the money.

And then you, you sit there like, why don't I have some of these things?

Not all women, but some.

And it's not a, why don't I have it in a sense of you're trying to compare yourself to this person?

But what it is is self rejection.

You become insecure.

Instead of using it as inspiration, you begin to put pressure on yourself to feel like you aren't where you should be, right?

You begin to, to make yourself feel as if you're not doing enough.

And I will be lying through my teeth if I was to sit here and to say that I've never felt that in my life, right?

Just based off of seeing someone else.

I'm not talking about jealousy or envy.

I'm not even talking about wanting necessarily the exact same thing that someone else has.

But there are situations and certain things you see, you watch, you hear.

And it forces you to put pressure on yourself.

It makes you feel like you aren't where you need to be in your life.

And that is a problem, right?

Do you want her life?

Whoever this person is that you see, you don't even know this person.

You don't even know if it's real.

But because it is constantly on your algorithm, it is making you believe that you are not doing enough.

So yes, we're going to get uncomfortable, right?

You've seen somebody online.

This is an example.

She's married.

Beautiful house.

Nice car.

Kids look happy.

She's an entrepreneur, owns her own business.

She travels.

She dress beautifully, right?

And then you look at yourself and say, I need to get my ish together.

Do you?

Or do you just want what you think that life represents?

Because here's the thing, you don't know what's happening after that camera go goes off.

You don't know if this person is happy.

You don't know if they're exhausted.

You don't know if they are in debt.

You don't know.

You don't know if the marriage is stable, right?

You just saw 30 seconds of a glimpse of someone's life and what they portray it to be.

You don't actually know if this exists, if this is real.

Yet you are putting an extremely amount large amount of pressure on yourself And I and I have to say this because it happens so often right especially with black women We already do enough yet.

We still feel at times that we are not doing enough For ourselves because we give and we do for everybody else And then when we see somebody else that that has something going on is like them

I need to get my stuff together.

Not even knowing if it's real.

You cannot allow, you cannot put that much pressure on yourself.

Why?

Because your algorithm doesn't even know your values.

This is artificial intelligence.

It's not even really intelligent, to be honest.

And it's artificial.

Again, artificial intelligence.

It does not know your values.

your morals, what you've been through, how hard you work to have what you currently have.

All it knows is your behavior.

It knows that, OK, cool.

She looked at this for this amount of time, and then she went and watched this for this amount of time.

And then she went off that and clicked this and then went back and watched the whole thing, right?

Don't know that you're trying to protect your peace.

It don't know that you was not obsessed with relationships.

It doesn't know that you are not trying to compare yourself to other people.

It only knows what you watch.

So it caused this repeated cycle.

So every time you hop online, right, every day and you notice it, it rotates from Instagram to Google to Facebook to TikTok because it's all connected.

It's all connected under the same umbrella right made a matter You go on you ever look on something on Google and then you go on Facebook and the app pop up Or you go on Instagram and whatever you was looking at on Facebook is on Instagram is because it's all connected Which means that it is programming you it's programming you every day to view certain things It's a trap

It's a trap.

And no, I don't want you to be trapped, right?

This system is learning.

You watch relationship drama, you get more relationship drama.

If all you watch is people arguing online, then all your algorithm is going to feed you is people arguing online.

If you watch videos about how horrible men are,

then your feed is only going to show you things about how horrible men are.

So if your algorithm has you believing that all men are trash, baby, let me tell you something.

You might need to check your settings, right?

You might need to, because again, it is programming you to think a certain way.

And then next thing you know, you're going down a rabbit hole.

You're going down a rabbit hole because you've seen one person don't know where they reside Don't never met them in your life Don't know anything about them, but they decide to tell you that all men are trash because they had multiple bad experiences and now you walk around with this belief subconsciously because your algorithm fed it to you You believe that this is

Uh, a message, right?

Some people are so delusional that they will start to believe that, Hey, this is a sign is telling me something or I'm learning this.

I'm learning that.

No, your algorithm is pushing this information to you.

And if you are not careful, your algorithm will eventually dictate your life.

Your algorithm will eventually dictate your life.

We're on social media throughout the day all the time.

Whether we're watching live videos, whether we are making posts or just simply scrolling for entertainment purposes.

At the end of the day, every time you log on, that algorithm is going to pull up something.

And it's going to cause scatterbrain, it's going to cause you to fill away.

And then you're going to start to self-reject and put this unrealistic pressure on yourself based off of something that may not even be.

real or true.

So now I want to ask this question, right?

What happens when your feet become so personalized that it stops showing you the world and it begins showing you a version of the world design around your existing behavior?

Because if you are angry, it's going to keep you angry.

If you are afraid, it's going to keep you afraid.

If you are comparing yourself to other.

People is going to constantly keep you comparing yourself to other people.

And if you are lonely, it can keep you in a state of mind that makes you feel like there is no need to connect with anyone else.

And we're going to unpack that.

When we come back from break, I want to hear from you.

You can call or text me 833-212-1017.

It should grow jazz.

Tyler, do not touch that down.

If you are just now joining us, we are talking about the new legislation that was passed in Australia, an initiative called My Feed My Way, which gives Australians control over their social media algorithm.

And I was given examples and explaining the issues when it comes to your algorithm and how it is controlling you, in programming you, right?

Because it's all connected.

Your feed can become your world.

So let's talk about it.

What I believe to be one of the most dangerous things about personalized feeds is that they can make your experience feel universal, right?

So I'm not talking necessarily about having control over it.

I'm talking about not having control over it because the algorithm is built based off of what it assumes you like.

And let's be clear.

Our emotions changes on a day to day basis, even throughout the day.

So whatever it is you were watching, you know, yesterday or earlier, it may not be something that you want to watch right in that moment.

But the algorithm does not know that if your entire feed is people complaining about relationships, you begin to think that everybody is having relationship problems.

If your entire feed is people saying that they hate their jobs, then you're going to start thinking that everyone hates their jobs.

If your feed is political outrage, you're going to start to believe that everyone is angry, right?

So again, what you view, what you click on, what constantly pops up can dictate your world.

What does your algorithm think you are obsessed with?

Hey three three two one two one zero one seven.

I'm gonna tell you right now My algorithm is all over the place Due to my life due to my jobs due to research all types of things so right now my algorithm believes that You know, I'm a big back.

I am a little big back because I love food but

Currently, recipes pop up on my algorithm.

A lot of pastors and ministers, the Milwaukee feed when it comes to news, violence, you know, there's faith, food, style, right?

All types of things.

And I need to get that under control.

I have to.

I have to get it under control.

I have to figure out a way to.

dictate my algorithm because it has left me in shambles the past couple of weeks and I didn't even realize it until I started to read this article last weekend and did some reflection.

What am I giving my attention to?

And I don't necessarily mean physically as far as a person, right?

Or going out constantly to this place or that place.

I mean, when I am sitting down,

And I have some leisure time, some free time to myself.

And I'm online.

What am I giving my attention to?

Whatever it is that we are given our attention to is being fed to the algorithm.

And then that algorithm begins to program us to think and believe certain things.

Shout out to the chat.

Bill with Shaheed says, you are right, Jazz.

Time management is everything.

Digital detox is necessary for real personal growth and creativity.

And I'm glad you said that because digital detox is a real thing.

And I think the problem that I'm having personally is I don't know if I'm able to have a detox from my algorithm due to my line of work.

I don't know if I'm able to step back and say today I can't be on social media.

Like, to be honest with you, I don't, I hate social media.

I do.

If it was up to me, me to tell you, it was like pulling teeth and nails to give me to put up a Facebook page.

And I haven't been on Facebook for years.

So, and I try so hard and I know this, Shahid.

And again, thank you for saying that.

I know that there has to be a detox when it comes to all platforms of technology.

But because I'm in this line of work, it is extremely difficult, which is the reason why I'm saying I have to figure out a way to get a hold on my algorithm.

Because it is literally the thing that feeds me information on a day-to-day basis.

It feeds us all.

You tap on one thing and it automatically assumes that that is something that you want to look at 24-7.

That is not the case that is not the case whatsoever, right?

If I got if your phone could expose you right now, what would it say?

This woman is trying to get her finances together this woman is trying to understand men

This woman is planning a vacation.

She ain't even booked yet, baby.

This woman wants to buy a house and this woman watches cooking videos, but never cooked.

Listen, I can't make this up.

I don't even have time to cook as much no more, but I'd be on there watching all the recipes and saving them and everything, right?

And again, I am a person who is very organized.

I am a person who is very strategic.

And I do understand that self-care is important.

But I do think that there is a healthy way to disrupt the algorithm, right?

So lately I purposely been following and liking real estate.

Like I'm really into Decor.

You know, redesigning someone's house or gutting the house out and redoing it and things of that nature.

So I started to like and watch majority of those videos to try and offset

my algorithm.

But the problem with that is those are pages and things that I'm going to myself.

Those are things that I'm actually searching myself.

Those are not things that's popping up on my feet.

I have to force myself to go and look it up so that it can begin to pop on my feet.

And then what ends up happening is once it pops up on my feet, something else comes after that.

It could be a violence.

It could, especially with the Milwaukee news, right?

Majority of the news that's on social media, especially Instagram and Milwaukee, the pages I follow, it's all negative.

It's all violence, right?

And it's not that I get a kick out of it or that I constantly want to look at something negative, but my job is to report what is happening.

So I have to watch it.

So as soon as what I went in search for begins to pop up on my algorithm.

And something else comes after that that I don't want to look at, but I have to.

It interrupts what I just did.

It resets it and takes me right back to the beginning, right?

So now it's like every time I hop on social media, my algorithm, even though I tried to offset it, is forcing me to watch something else.

And then it becomes so overwhelming because it's like I just don't want to be on it at all.

I don't want nothing to do with the social.

I don't wanna see none of this stuff, but I don't have a choice.

Ten says, mine is gem food, gaming hair, and clothing.

Man, and yours sound like a pretty good balance.

Gem food, gaming hair, clothing.

So I'm gonna do something in real time.

I'm gonna pull up my social media page right now, and I'm gonna tell y'all what is on there.

The first thing that popped up is my cousin Lola.

What up?

What up Lana?

She's the first person that popped up, right?

The next thing that pop up is Tyrese and it says black folks don't hang themselves from trees.

You see my point?

Do you see my point?

My cousin is the first person that popped up on my newsfeed and baby she looking fly.

She looking good doing her thing.

I'm happy.

Right.

Soon as I scroll down, here go Tyrese with a post from six days ago.

This is this is the foolishness that my algorithm beyond a post from six days ago, although I agree with this.

Right.

Now let me tell you how it played my tricks on you.

So if you've been listening to me all week, you've been hearing me talk about black people in this country being lynched.

Right.

And then.

My cousin posted this hour ago and this post from six days ago pops up that says black folk don't hang themselves from trees.

So, you know what that does to me?

Now it puts me back in a mental space that I don't want to be in because I'm not trying to think about that.

Okay.

I scroll again.

I see an outfit that I may or may not wear, but I like it.

Then I see Tony Gaskin says, don't let my confidence offend your insecurity.

Okay, let me save that I like that Now I scroll down again and there is a video in Portland Louisville, Kentucky, right?

that uh So there's about 50 police officers outside because they have found multiple unalived bodies inside of someone's house and Then the next thing is a wedding dress You catch my drift

My algorithm is all over the place And it will have you feeling so many different emotions subconsciously you go I go from seeing my cousin doing her thing to thinking about black people hanging themselves I mean to people hanging black people and black people being found lynched to an outfit to something about confidence to a story in Kentucky about over 20 bodies

Being found in someone house to a damn wedding dress Then BT removes articles from site deleting years of black journalism.

Hello Everything I just broke down how many different emotions was that?

family death Right clothing like there's so many different emotions only for me to end up on

Be a article stating that BET removes articles from site the leading years of black journalism So now I'm stuck Because I'm scrolling and I'm like oh I feel this I feel that I feel this hold on a minute BT then what oh?

I got a click on this baby.

I'm going straight to the comments now.

I'm in a uh now.

I'm in a rabbit hole

Now I'm reading the comments that people saying somebody say something now.

Let me go to their page Let me click on a page and see what who they about what they about what they got going on All over the damn place We got a crawler on the line out.

Are you there?

Yes, I am.

The first thing I was going to say is you can control your algorithm, but if you're going to rap a whole pull out the gorilla, you feel me?

I think when you do stuff like that, you know, sometimes I go on and I tell people off with men that's complaining about women.

I think why you complaining about women, y'all, when y'all can compare your breasts.

Okay.

All I'm going to say is control.

You want to change your algorithm, put in there gorgeous black men, how to get a wealthy man for his money.

Why why black why black men are intimidated by black women?

You know, you can control your your anger, River, but don't let it control your emotions because if you control your emotions, then you everywhere you be the emotions and the best way you be the emotions is piss everybody off because it's better you do it to them before they do it to you.

Our algorithm plays a huge part in our mental real estate, whether we know it or not.

We have to determine and dictate what's important and what's not.

Comfort versus challenge.

Would you rather have an algorithm that constantly agrees with you or one that challenges you?

Because personally, I don't want an algorithm that just tells me I'm right all the time.

I don't need a digital height woman telling me that I'm fabulous 24 hours a day, right?

And that's what makes Australia's proposal interesting to me.

So earlier at the top of the hour, if you are just now joining us, I explained that the Albanese government is taking next steps to create an initiative called My Feed My Way, which allows Australians to control their social media algorithms.

And I broke down the importance of this because a lot of times we look at social media and we just think, hey, I'm just scrolling.

No, you're not.

You're programming yourself to feel multiple different emotions in less than what 60 seconds and less than two minutes.

And then you can't understand why you are running around feeling all over the place.

You're just feeling all over the place because you don't watch somebody get killed.

On Instagram, 30 seconds later, you seen something about some food.

30 seconds after that, you seen something about relationships.

It's just all over the place.

And then it begins to dictate your emotions, right?

Giving people more control doesn't necessarily mean giving people a bubble.

It could be mean it could be it could mean giving people agency, right?

There's a difference between Only show me things I agree with and let me have more say in what I am exposed to and I am extremely big on Let me have a say and what I am exposed to right and I know that this came probably because

I talked about it a couple of weeks ago.

There was a lawsuit with Metta.

Metta is the company that owns Facebook and Instagram.

There was a lawsuit saying that, uh, teens and youth are becoming addicted to social media and things on social media.

So, uh, they are giving Wisconsin $3 billion to fund mental health programming for the youth.

pertaining to them being addicted to social media.

And when you read this article and when you think about this, it's like, that's insane.

Why are they giving $3 billion to help children become who are addicted to social media?

Because it's true.

It's not that they are addicted to social media.

It's not even that it's just youth.

It's adults too.

It's the algorithm that we are addicted to that we don't even realize we are.

We're allowing it to take control to dictate our lives in our world.

Everything that you watch on social media, it sparks a conversation.

You see something, for example, journalists, radio personality, things that we see on social media, news stories, we come back and report to you all.

Same thing with everyday people who don't have the position I have.

You see something online, it sparks a conversation.

You see your recipe you get to texting your mama hey mom hey you seen um the other day I was just on Instagram and I seen this thing on Timu That is like a stopper to stop food from going on the side of your stove and the first thing I said was man my mama would love this and I and I texted to a girl you seen this on Instagram I found this on Timu for real let me go on Tim yeah let me go on Timu right now and now I'm spending money that I shouldn't even be spending all because

My algorithms showed me something that ain't even had nothing to do with me.

I didn't even want the damn thing.

I just know that it was something my mother could use.

And yet I still found myself doing something based off of an emotion I felt from something that my algorithm fed to me.

Shout out to the chat.

Gibi said, Hey, hey, Miss Jazzy, mine will expose that I'm still figuring it out.

A lot of self development through others testimonies.

Man, you know what?

And I feel that.

I feel that.

So maybe I should have some grace for myself because, again, the line of work that I'm in, I don't have a choice but to be on social media.

If it was my choice, I wouldn't be one there.

I have to look at various of different things so that I can report various of different things.

But I'm also human and I'm very transparent and I found myself

I was having a conversation with some of my students today.

All over the place.

My emotions and mine, I just been discombobulated the past week and I end up getting a notification as soon as I set that to them on my phone about my screen time.

So I am a person who checks her screen time.

I want to see where am I spending my time when I'm on my phone.

And majority of that time is on social media.

Not because I'm being nosy, not because I'm addicted to it, but because a lot of the information that I come back and report is things that I see on social media.

And when I seen that a lot of my screen time has something to do with me scrolling on social media, I began to dive deeper.

And once I realized that I've been all over the place, emotionally, mind, everything, because I've seen so many different things the past week.

I've seen things pertaining to children dying.

I've seen things pertaining to food.

I've seen so many different stories good and bad So much to the point where you know, it dictates how I feel and now I'm trying to figure it out.

Why am I feeling?

all of these things like Ain't nothing going on.

Nothing is wrong in my life.

I don't have anything You know technically to complain about so where are these emotions coming from?

It's coming from what I'm watching

It's programming me to feel a certain way.

There are people that I unfollowed and I feel so bad, but I had to clean my algorithm up.

I get so tired of the bias relationship talks.

The men who like to bash women and women who like to bash men.

I get tired of these things, right?

I will follow somebody if they have good.

Information and stuff like that, but I noticed that it started popping up on my algorithm more than normal and I had to follow them to clean it out because I didn't want to start thinking that way I Didn't want to again think about something you've seen.

I know y'all be watching them podcast shows and them clips on social media What is it called the they come into Milwaukee tonight's conversation, right?

You have many different

I'm not a fan of tonight's conversation anymore, but I am a fan of true.

I like the dialogue that he has because his point of views and his perspective is fairly positive.

But the point that I'm making is this was popping up on my algorithm so much and it was popping up.

It's almost like.

Yeah, technology be watching us.

It was popping up during a time where I was having conversations about relationships, about whether or not I was ready to get back into a relationship.

And next thing you know, I'm having this conversation with my sister on the phone.

Hey, Jazz, you almost 40.

Are you ever going to get married again?

I don't know.

I want to.

But the day in the world is this, this, this.

And men is this.

And, you know, the next thing I know, I see these.

Conversations popping up on my algorithm.

And if I was a person who did not have control over my mental health and my emotions, I could easily fall into whatever it was the algorithm was feeding me.

I could easily fall into believing that everything that I see is true and that it applies to my life even if it doesn't.

And that is the point I'm making.

That is the problem.

That is the problem.

Right.

Um, so now we're going to take this somewhere else, uh, somewhere that I think is even more important because if we are already having a conversation about algorithms, deciding what we see, what happens when we are talking about AI and I'm talking about artificial intelligence.

Um, because artificial intelligence isn't just recommended videos.

It can write, it can create, analyze, research.

code and make decisions based off of information.

And there are people working inside of the AI industry who are warning us that technology could become extremely powerful and that we are not necessarily moving fast enough on safety.

So I want to ask a question that connects this entire conversation.

How much control are we willing to give technology before we stop asking whether we should?

That's where we are going at six o'clock.

We are going to

have a conversation about the technology overall.

I know that there was an article that was recently released where someone worked for, I can't remember the company, but he did something with artificial intelligence.

And he made a video explaining why he left this company and why he quit.

Yeah, anthropic, yep.

And if I'm not mistaken, brother Z, he mentioned that if the situation was they told

the technology not to do something or they try to get rid of it and it found a way to do something else anyways or to go to another place, which is scary, which means that it is controlling itself.

And that is a problem.

We're going to talk about that.

We got to go to break through, not touch that dial.

It should grow jazz, Tyler, one on one, seven the truth.

1017 the truth is your girl Jazz Tyler you are live and direct and officially tapped in at the American Family Insurance studio on the beautiful heart of downtown, Milwaukee Today we've been having a conversation about Algorithm social media technology how it's programming us to feel different things and then by the time we realize it we don't understand what is happening and recently according to see in in

There's an article entitled gambling with our lives.

Another AI employee quit over safety concerns.

So the people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us by the end of the decade.

That blunt emission came from former anthropic employee Jacob Coxon, made waves Tuesday as the just quit 27 year old AI researcher spilled the beans on his way out of the door in a resignation thread on X. Brothers, he got the tape.

Let's roll it.

A researcher for Anthropic says he quit over concerns.

AI is on track to spiral out of human control.

CBS News senior tech and business correspondent Jolene Kent has this remarkable story.

Jolene, good morning.

This sounds like someone our viewers want to hear from.

What are we learning about why this researcher resigned?

And we're hoping to talk to him very soon.

His name is Jacob Cox and and he is a researcher who just left anthropic yesterday.

He's worked at both open AI and anthropic and he says he's leaving the industry entirely because these companies are gambling with our lives.

In his sudden resignation, former anthropic employee Jacob Coxon claimed on X, neither anthropic nor open AI is acting responsibly.

They are racing straight to self-improving super intelligence and gambling with our lives.

He added the people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade, saying no other human activity poses this level of danger.

He says he spent the last three years doing pre-training research at both AI giants posted that he believes AI will soon be super human systems that can hack anything.

It's a situation that open AI has already found itself in.

Back in July, the company said its system went rogue during internal testing and hacked into AI startup Huggingface without authorization.

That set off alarm bells for CEO Sam Altman.

We may have to pace the rate of AI development.

to give ourselves enough time for society to harden around some of these new capability levels.

The CEO of Anthropic, Dario Amade, has said he believes we should have policies in place to pace the development of AI.

If you think of the extent to which AI can make individualized propaganda, can break into any computer system in the world, can, you know, surveil.

Everyone, everyone in a population is really scary and we have to stop it.

We've reached out to Anthropic for their reaction to Jacob Coxon's posts on X and they have yet to reply.

But this is a commonly held position here in Silicon Valley.

Back in July, there was an open letter to lawmakers from about 1000 AI researchers.

to come up with a plan to slow down the development of AI and the quote from Jacob Cox and that really stood out in his stream of posts last night.

He said do not underestimate the power of this technology.

Errol

Jasmine Tyler

man so.

Y'all heard it right from the horse's mouth, right?

That's what makes this conversation different, right?

It's one thing when somebody who doesn't understand technology gets on social media and makes a comment, right?

But when people who are actually building these systems start to tell us and warn us, hold on, we need to think about where this is going.

That's when I pay attention.

That's when I pay attention.

Jazz West Cousin Jazz says, watch the movie Her and I, Robot.

My mom was just talking about I, Robot yesterday.

Like, I need all of this to, like, know that this was gonna happen.

Absolutely.

I've seen I, Robot, to know what happens when you have too many robots automating things that humans are supposed to be doing.

Jasmine Tyler

Yep.

Yep.

And to your point, Brother Zeke,

They're always warning us with movies.

And we think it's entertainment.

No, that's how they soft launch

Jasmine Tyler

things.

We think it's entertainment, right?

I just seen something on social media.

This brother was talking about the power outage in Gary Indiana and how he believes that it was a test.

Because during this time, and we're going to talk about that probably next week.

But during the time of the blackouts in Indiana, supposedly there were a lot of killings happening and not just from, you know, regular citizens, right?

There were some things law enforcement were involved in and a lot of people have gone on to say they believe it was a test to see what would happen if the power grid went out, right, in that specific area.

Um, so anthropic is known for position itself as one of the AI companies, particularly focused on safety.

And yet the company has acknowledged incidents, involvement, AI models, gaining unauthorized access to real systems during cybersecurity testing.

So, uh, this prompts me to believe that when we talk about our babies and where they should be heading, it should be cybersecurity.

It should be cyber security the days of you know some career fields I get it but right now the world that we're moving into if we don't have people who are on our side that are sitting behind these desk while they continuously build these AI systems We won't have insight.

We won't know how to prepare This is a real thing and not to mention

There's an entire generation, a couple of generations, who are not tech savvy, which means that they won't understand how to maneuver through a world they already don't understand, but they're not going to understand even more.

So the company at Thropics says these incidents happen in controlled testing environments and involve configurations that were not supposed to provide that kind of access.

But here's the part that really caught my attention.

The company initially reviewed roughly 141,000 transcripts looking for these kinds of incidents.

Later after discovering another incident, it expanded the search dramatically to roughly 481 million transcripts.

That's not a spreadsheet.

That's hundreds of millions of interactions

being examined because the company wanted to know what happened, what did the system actually do, and did they miss anything?

That is the part that I want us, us the people to think about.

Technology doesn't just have to be evil and dangerous, right?

Sometimes the problem is simple, that the people operating the systems don't fully understand what the system is going to do in every situation.

However,

If you have to go through 481 billion transcripts and then you say that is based off of configurations and you want to make sure it didn't happen, right?

That's alarming.

Because if it happened right then and there, I'm pretty sure it happened before.

481 billion transcripts.

Come on now.

Come on now.

We are living in a world where

I was just talking to my sister about this earlier this morning.

We'd be having our powwows, our motivational powwows, five, six o'clock in the morning.

And I was telling her that we are so blind to the facts.

Some of us just don't care because we feel like there's nothing that we can do about it as people and not get it.

But we are so blind to the facts.

We are so distracted That we don't even understand what is happening what is about to hit us We don't even know how to prepare And everybody's like yeah, and I get it trust me I'm not anti AI.

I'm not talking about Allen Iverson.

I'm talking about artificial intelligence

I'm not anti-technology, and I'm definitely not going to sit here pretending that we are going to go back to the 1990s and just throw away our phones and our laptops, even though I would love nothing more than to get rid of social media or technology or smartphones, TVs, live off the land, and don't be bothered the hell with nobody.

I promise you, it's nothing more I want in life than that.

But I do understand that it can help us that it runs the world most importantly So there is no no way around it they have managed to Use technology to control everything so much to the point.

It's it's the government There's nothing you can do without needing the government in some shape or form That's exactly what they have done to technology

You don't have a choice You can't get you a flip phone that signal ain't gonna work It ain't gonna connect to them towers We don't have a choice and it's scary and you know what cousin jazz I am I'm gonna go back today and watch iRobot There's a show on Netflix called zero day That people should pay attention to I believe is all of those combined is

like iRobot, mixed with Don't Look Behind, you know, the typical end-of-the-world type of thing, but more realistic, right?

Talking power grid, power outages.

We're talking inflation.

We are talking technology taking over.

We are talking all of these things.

It's a trip.

It's a trip.

Let's get into it.

When we come back from break, it should grow a jazz title of 1-on-1-7, the truth.

Today we are talking about technology algorithms and before we went to break I was explaining the importance of us paying attention to exactly what's happening So if you are just now joining us there was a video we played earlier from an ex-employee

of Anthropic, which is a technology company, a company that is building AI.

And he went publicly to say that he believed that by the end of this decade that AI, technology, robots, all of the above will take out humanity.

Right.

And this is somebody who is currently working behind the scenes.

This is somebody who is actually was because he quit in the process of.

what is happening right before our eyes.

Cousin Jazz West said, check out iRobot.

That is one movie I have not watched in a while, but I was sitting here thinking, thinking about me and Brother Z was having a conversation about how they've been putting, uh, well, preparing us via film for this.

And yet, uh, some of us, you know, who believe many years ago that

This was going to be the case where considered to be conspiracy theorists.

Every time we talked about this happening, we were deemed to be conspiracy theorists, right?

Well, guess what?

It is here and it is happening.

Guess who was right?

All of us conspiracy theorists.

So I went back to look to see how long and how many movies, right?

In case.

Anyway, one is interesting in watching.

Say that on there.

The same goes for Epstein.

It

turned out

Jasmine Tyler

to be true.

It turned out to be true, indeed.

So you have the Terminator, which came out in 1984.

AI becomes self-aware.

and launches a war against humanity.

You got the Terminator 2 Judgement Day that came out in 1991.

The machine's future war begins, becomes even more central.

You have a movie called X Machina that came out in 2014.

And AI becomes frighteningly good at manipulating humans, the humans testing it.

Eagle Eye.

2008.

A seemingly all-powerful computer system manipulates people's lives in actions.

Transcendence 2014.

Human consciousness merges with AI, raising the question of whether intelligence without human limits can become dangerous.

I gotta go watch that.

That actually sounds...

like some stuff that they doing today.

Then obviously you have the matrix, which the description for that is machines have effectively taken control over humanity and creating an artificial reality.

But my outlook on the matrix is a little bit different.

You also have the movie Megan.

I know you all remember when that came out in 2022, an AI companion designed to protect a child becomes increasingly autonomous and dangerous.

And then you have the creator that came out in 2023.

Humans are at war with advanced AI, but the movie complicates the question of who the real threat is.

The movie that Cousin Jazz was talking about is called Her that came out in 2013.

AI isn't violent at all.

It's about an AI becoming emotionally sophisticated in what happens when humans become deeply dependent on technology.

Right?

Then you got Wai that came out in 2008, surprisingly powerful.

A movie that is about humans becoming so dependent on technology that they've essentially surrounded control of their lives.

The true man show.

Y'all remember the true man show?

Was that Jim Carrey that was on there?

Who?

Somebody's on the true man show and don't act there.

is not technically an AI takeover movie, but Truman believes that he's living a normal life while virtually everything around him has been engineered in control.

Man, listen, we got to go back and start watching these movies.

We got to go back and start watching these movies.

They've been in our face the entire time.

There's a movie I tell people about all the time.

I've seen

Outside of just the AI and the technology I've seen a lot of what's happening with the recalls And I don't know if y'all been paying attention But it's getting is getting worse everything you can think of there is a recall on Everything Recently there was a recall on olive oil There was a recall on I love

oil.

Now they are saying that meringue leaf powder is contaminated.

That is something that I use all the time.

All the time.

And it prompted me to think about this movie entitled Green Soylent.

I don't know if you guys ever heard of this movie.

If you're an older generation.

But I'm gonna describe what this movie is.

So currently all of the fool recalls in this country is raw beef products Lettuce iceberg lettuce shredded lettuce Outshine fruit bars specialty beverages and smoothie bases ground beef Corned beef Ready to eat meat You got rice you got olive oil.

It's all types of

thing going around.

Exactly, Jazz West, Soylent Green.

Soylent Green came out in about 1973 or 1974.

And it was based in the year of 2021 and 2022 in New York City.

But it was shot and filmed in 1973 or 1974.

And it was about a dictatorship.

It was one person running the government.

The inflation was so high that with a hundred dollars all you got was a loaf of bread Tomato and some lettuce And there was a detective Who began to question what was happening people started dying over?

Starvation while the dictator was you know living good right mind you again This is taking place this movie was shot in the 70s

and was based in 2021 in New York City.

Well, upon his investigation, during his investigation, he stumbled upon a clue that prompted him to solve this case.

And what he found out was that all of the people who were dying from starvation due to inflation, they were taking their bodies and turning them into green pallets.

and given these green pallets to people to eat.

And I found out about this movie in 2021.

No, 2022.

And you know what I did?

Did some digging.

Oh, baby, I was at Myers one day, looked it up and seeing that they started selling protein shakes called Soiling Green.

I can't make this up.

You can Google it right now.

It's a whole website.

I'm gonna do it for you.

If you are by your phone or a laptop, tablet, whatever, I want you to look it up.

There is an actual website, actual food.

And mind you, so the website is called Soylent.

Soilet.com mind you When I've seen this this was during a time where they just Came out with the plant base and impossible this and yes and possibly human So I never ate it even even when I was vegan.

I never ate anything that was a plant base or impossible so You got the movie soiling green

The techniques people who are dying of starvation due to inflation turning them into green Palace and feeding it to people who are still alive and this detective found out about it shot in the 70s based in New York, but it was predicted to be 2022 2021 When you go to so again calm They are pushing this as protein shakes plant-based products

They are saying that it has 28 vitamin vitamins and minerals in it Right all of these different minerals My question is What are the odds?

What are the odds that this brand is actually caught soylent and that the base of The base color of it is green Which is what the movie is named

Can't make

this

Jasmine Tyler

up It's supposed they have replacement drinks so similar drinks to What's those drinks patients insure they have protein shakes?

meal replacement shakes all of that and a lot of the vegan and plant-based and impossible this and that It's not really what it is

Exactly jazz they knew exactly what they were doing They knew exactly what they were doing they've been putting it in our face and I used to be so frustrated like when I first found out about this movie and then I and this was during a pandemic Pope like yeah in the middle of the pandemic and They started coming out with them impossible burgers and this and that and I was telling people I said man That stuff is impossibly human.

I guarantee you

Something is going on and something just told me to Google Soiling Green and the Soiling website came up and I was physically seeing it in Myers back in 2022 and People are actually purchasing this They have for many years put this stuff right in our faces and We just sit there and view it as entertainment now.

I got to go back and watch it

Gotta go back and watch it jazz Cousin Jazz West say watch iRobot Soylent Green Fahrenheit 451 equilibrium In her Yep in her there was another movie too that I looked up I Gotta go back and find it.

I think it was caught.

I gotta find what it was but it was something pertaining to AI merge with human brains and

Transcended that's what it's called came out in 2014 want to go pay attention to that We got to go to break do not touch that down should grow jazz Tyler one on one seven the truth One on one seven the truth you are officially tapped in on the award winner one on one seven the truth if you are just not on joining us It's your favorite cousin.

Yep, right and Shannon.

I said it.

I'm the

OK, it's your favorite niece.

It's your favorite niece.

There we go.

Favorite niece, favorite TT.

New TT.

Yeah, hold on.

New

TT.

You trying to call me?

Jasmine Tyler

Uh.

Hey.

New TT, nah.

Jasmine Tyler

It's your favorite niece, your favorite TT.

What are the other?

She girl, Jazz Tyler.

If you are just now joining us, we are talking about algorithm, technology, all of the above.

Before we went to break, I was explaining how

Me and brother Z had a conversation about the fact that these movies has been warning us, have been warning us for quite some time.

It's been in our face for many of years to prep us for the day and age we are in as it pertains to technology, the full recalls, all of the above.

And yet we just continuously forget to realize that the things we have seen throughout the years has not been entertainment only.

There has been some truth.

They could not say at the time that it was true because it was not invented yet.

That is how they trick us.

Cousin Jazz, she got a whole collection of those kinds of movies.

Yeah, we gotta have movie night Cousin Jazz.

We gotta pull out the projector outside and have a movie night.

with the family, with everybody, true to nation, because we have to begin to educate or re-educate ourselves.

Some of the movies that she listed was her iRobot, Soylent Green, Fahrenheit 451, Equilibrium, 1984, Videodrome, Step 4 Wives, A Scanner, Darkly Listen.

I never even heard of those.

I need to, I need to now Soylent Green Equilibrium Fahrenheit 451 iRobot.

Absolutely.

The last ones I haven't, but I am eager and I am going to go and watch it.

I was also talking about the food recall and how there are so many recalls on the things that we eat on a daily basis.

And I was describing the movie Soylent Green.

That came out in the 70s, but was based in 2022 and it was surrounded inflation On food and food was so high that a hundred dollars will only get you a loaf of bread some lettuce and tomatoes or a potato People were dying and the dictator started to take their bodies and turn them into green pallets and started feeding them to the people and this detective found out about it And when I looked it up, I seen that it really was a product soiling

It's a plant-based product and they sell it in online and in grocery stores Myers included And it had me questioning all these years that people have labeled me and people I know as conspiracy theories And yet we was right again It's right in front of our faces when we're talking about this technology stuff Jazz said I suggest you watch video

Drone first, you know what I wonder I need to look online because I assume these movies are a little older I need to look online and see how I can stream them or what they're streaming on I might just ask my mama she too if she got she got she still got VHS tapes whole box is full of them but We got to start paying attention to these things Not because we don't care, but because we do care

We need to literally under they have been telling us for a long time.

What is going to happen?

What is going to happen is right here in our faces, right?

And we can't run from it.

You can say I want to live off grid They got technology so cold that even if you built your own bunker, they can tell if somebody is underground You can't run from it.

It's here

It's everywhere in the entire world.

There is nowhere you can run from technology.

The satellites in the sky, everything, the all C and I, if you know, you know.

It's nowhere you can run.

Snow such thing as privacy.

Privacy is a facade.

They started with the data leak.

They lied to us and say, hey, spend a data breach, data leak.

Nah, y'all just sold the information.

You sold my information.

And then you want to file a lawsuit.

So this company, the other company can file bankruptcy.

And then restart their company under a different name.

And then you're going to sell that new company that the same owners own our data again.

And then say you got a what million dollar lawsuit and you got to pay everybody to check and you get nine dollars.

Everybody get nine dollars.

That's how that works.

There is no privacy.

This is taken over, but it is very interesting and disturbing at the same time to see someone who actually works for Anthropic and actually builds these databases for AI and technology to come out and say, hey, people.

In in this world, I am warning you that by the end of this decade Technology is going to destroy mankind not just in a sense of jobs, but physically Physically is going to destroy us.

I got to get him off for an interview.

I got it.

I got to talk to him because First and foremost, I wonder

if there's any type of contract he has with Anthropic that states he can't say certain things.

I imagine there is, maybe he didn't care when he was talking to CNN, but there was 481 transcripts that they had to go back and look at to see if this situation has happened before.

And when you read the article, what it's basically saying is that

It created, they told the AI and the technology not to do something, basically.

They shut it down.

They stopped it completely.

And what it did was, said, all right, cool, don't worry about it.

I'm going on wild down yonder and do what I want to do and create something else on its own.

They created this database, this artificial intelligence and tried to shut it down.

and all it did was replicate itself and went somewhere else and built something else in the database.

That means that they have no control.

They have absolutely no control.

How many times has this happened and they didn't know it?

You know how scary that is?

That's scary and that's powerful at the same time.

And yet we sitting here worried about everything, but what this world is turning into.

So you got AI, the companies is saying, listen, we about to shut you down.

AI is saying, okay, cool, don't worry about it.

I'm gonna go on here, go down the street and do what I want to do.

Yeah, you got all of these full recourse.

It's not surprising that all the food recalls is all the food black people eat.

Majority of the food that's on the food recall is what black people eat.

Even meringueleaf, they say now that what that tells me is not only are they attacking the food, but they're coming after organic natural herbs.

You understand?

For all the people who say, well, we shouldn't be eating this stuff anyways.

OK, well, guess what?

Meringaleaf is on there now, too.

Now they are coming after after the natural herbs and that is on the full USDA and FDA full recall list Then you they're pushing this agenda on the babies, this is what I've been talking about all week They are pushing this a certain agenda on our babies Has nothing to do with whether we like

the fact that somebody choose their sexual identity.

But at the end of the day, some of this stuff is an agenda and some of it is population control.

That is the reality.

And we have been so far removed from obtaining this retaining, not obtaining, but retaining this information because our algorithms forces us to lose our attention span.

In less than 60 seconds, you feel four different emotions, maybe even 10, because you're constantly scrolling, looking at so many different various things at one time.

So much to the point that you don't even understand that you are sidetracked and thrown off, because it has become a part of your normal routine.

Do you understand the state that we are in as a people right now in this world in this country in this city in this state?

Not to mention the data centers Controlling the water system and if I'm not mistaken Trump just said something about Somebody on Washington.

He'll said something about us having clean water is not pretty much a necessity like they basically ain't got to give us clean water

Then you got the data centers who's trying to control pay to control the water system And then you got we energies who is teaming up with them because they offer we energy some money and they're going to increase our electricity bills Then you got the hackers from out the country hacking into our power grid in systems And we just sitting here talking about another Tala Perry movie

With another Tyler Perry wig y'all seen that movie last Why did I get married again?

Why do he keep putting these wigs on these people?

Tyler Perry we are in 2026 don't nobody wear afros with the sideburns no more brother I don't know if you got the news memo But we so busy online and in conversations talking about Tyler Perry movies Now we're not even paying attention to what's really going on

Jack Cousin, Jazz West said, and Blade Runner is a great movie.

I forgot about Blade Runner.

I forgot about that.

Gotta wake up, people.

Gotta wake up.

She a girl, Jazz Tyler.

We gotta go to break to pay this last bill, brother Z and beach.

Let's get it.

We're officially tapped in with your girl, Jaz Tyler.

We are live and direct.

Listen.

Shout out to my uncle Vic, the Running Rebels.

He stopped by earlier today.

We had an amazing show.

We've also talked about social media.

We talked about algorithms.

We talked about Anthropik, the technology, all of the above.

Cousin Jasmine West, she also provided us with a list of movies.

That you guys can pay attention to and watch pertaining to technology Step forward a scanner darkly Soiling green iRobot Fahrenheit 451 all of the above man at the end of the day listen There is a lot that's happening in this world Majority of the week.

I've been talking about our mental health

Whether it's pertaining to your algorithm, whether it's pertaining to your children or students, if you are an educator at school, the full recall, all of the above, we are just in a state of emergency, literally, right?

And it's unfolding right in front of our eyes.

There are wars happening, right?

There is full recalls, an ex-employee from Anthropic.

Met with CNN and put a release of video stating that he believe AI is going to end mankind within the next decade based off of what he has seen in his line of work for that particular company So again There is a lot that is happening and I can't tell y'all what to do You know, I can't preach every day about the problems and the issues but one thing's for sure two things for certain

At some point we have to hold ourselves Responsible and start having some type of discipline so that we can properly prepare for what is happening in today's world We have to We have to be able to identify distractions and not feed into it because social media or someone is telling us to It's not a coincidence that certain things are taking place and happening While we are dealing with some very serious issues

in this country, in this world.

There are so many things meant to keep us distracted so that we can't prepare.

That's the easiest way to defeat your enemy.

That's the easiest way when you play in chess.

As soon as you think the pawn is weak, boop, they go your queen.

As soon as you let your guard down.

So I ain't worried about it.

I'm good.

I got money put up.

I got money in a savings account.

What happens if they take all your money out the bank account where they deny you access to everybody?

What happens if your power goes out and it never comes back on?

What happens is every single food that we have is contaminated.

How will we survive then?

How will you survive?

What happens when technology take over even more than what it is not just on your laptop not just chat GPT, but real life iRobot Is it is happening you see the waymo cars you see the robots you see they even got robots delivering food the drones everything It is here and it is happening And while we sitting back watching these Tyler Perry movies with these f'd up

Uh, afros and sideburns, we're not paying attention to what's really going on.

And that's the moral of the story.

You gotta pay attention to what you are giving your attention to.

What are you giving your attention to?

What is consuming your mind that is keeping you constantly distracted from reality?

What is really, really happening?

Not what you assume is happening, not not what's happening or what you wish will happen, what is currently happening in this moment.

What are you giving your attention to?

So as long again, as long as I have this platform, we're going to talk about it.

We're going to have these conversations because you will no longer have the excuse of saying that nobody told you because jazz told you.

Just want to put something on your mental Because I'm trying to better myself and I want you all to better yourself as well so why you if you get a chance this weekend just go back and watch some of those older movies that Was warning us for warning us about what we could expect when it comes to the ways of the world They've been sending messages for so many years

And some of us were catching on.

But we were labeled as conspiracy theorists, so no one would believe what it was that we had to say.

We got to do better, man.

We got to do better.

Listen, tomorrow.

Tomorrow, I got my good home girl, Kendall, coming in.

She's joining me for Ladies Night.

We're gonna have some conversations surrounding motherhood, sisterhood, and relationships.

Some of the things we're gonna be talking about, listen, it's gonna get juicy.

Now y'all know I really do do my thing when I'm by myself and I'm talking about these topics, but when I whip my ladies, oh, it's going down.

Here you go,

Jasmine Tyler

brother Z and me chatting already.

Oh, you still have headphones

Jasmine Tyler

on?

Don't worry, I got the fellas coming too.

Not tomorrow, but the fellas is coming too.

We gonna have some conversations.

So tomorrow's ladies night, with your girl Jazz Tyler, I got Kendra coming in.

We're gonna talk about sisterhood.

We're gonna talk about the fake girl girls.

What it means to be a mean girl, right?

Talking about relationships, exclusive dating versus serial dating.

And is it okay to date friends?

And we're also gonna talk about motherhood.

parents and young adults and privilege and entitlement.

I'm really interested in talking about all three topics.

But one of my favorite topics is the exclusive dating versus serial dating because I don't have the mental capacity to date more than one person.

I don't.

Or the emotional capacity neither.

And I don't like people.

I be thinking I like them.

I don't.

I really don't.

There is no way I can date multiple people at one time.

I don't have it in me.

So I'm eager to see what, uh, what this conversation is going to lead to.

Listen, I really, really, really appreciate y'all.

Um, I know today was a little bit different.

We were talking more about technology and the algorithm, but I did that on purpose because I wanted y'all to understand what was happening in the real world and not just entertainment.

Right?

This isn't just entertainment for me.

As long as I have breath in my body and God allows me whatever information and experiences I have personally, I will share with you all so that it can help you as well.

So I hope that you learned something today.

I hope that you try the exercise that I mentioned and see what the results are and spend back around them tomorrow and hit me up and let me know.

Like, yeah.

Jazz, you was right.

I was scrolling through my news feed.

And I noticed I felt this, this, and this in less than 60 seconds, man.

Update me, all right?

Be here tomorrow.

Got my home girl, Kenna in the building.

you

Jasmine Tyler

We are live and direct at the award-winning one-on-one stepping the truth.

Happy Thursday, Milwaukee.

I hope that you all had an amazing evening.

It's been a long day for me, but we are here.

We have a special guest in the building.

I want to hop right into it because I know you got an event after this.

But we have Victor Barnett.

It don't even sound right saying that.

I call him Uncle Vic.

Victor Barnett is in the building.

Correct me if I'm wrong on the titles, but I know for sure president and founder CEO

Executive

Jasmine Tyler

director and founder of the running rebels If you don't know what the running rebels is, I don't know where you been for the past three decades But it is one of the most amazing organizations an organization that my family has been a part of for many years And I'm truly honored and grateful that you are here with us today.

Let's hop right into it

First and foremost, there is an event that's happening today.

Yeah.

At the organization, we have our open house today.

So for people that are interested, we ask the parents to bring their kids down today to look at what we offer as far as programming.

And we just want to be a part of offering something for our young people today because we know how challenging it is.

And.

We need as much as possible for our young people to get into.

Jasmine Tyler

Absolutely.

So take us back to the beginning, Uncle Vic.

I know how it started.

I know all of the work that you do before the listeners.

How did you start the runner rebels organization?

Yeah, I'm originally from a small town in Mississippi.

So I grew up seeing the unjust that was going on in regards to black people.

So I always said that I wanted to help change the world and make a difference.

My family relocated up north and I.

didn't know what I wanted to do.

And then one day I was losing friends and found out they were being incarcerated.

So that was when I started in my heart to say, you know what?

I want to keep people from being taken away from their families and friends.

So I took in 50 young people in 1980 and got them involved in basketball with your uncle Don Davis being one of the original running rebels.

And we

just gave young people something to

do rather than getting into at that time, it was gang activity.

Whereas now it's so much negativity pulling our young people the wrong way.

And we just want to be able to say, hey, consider coming over here where we have positive things and just outlets for our young people.

Jasmine Tyler

Yes.

First of all, um, I got to commend you because there's not a lot of, uh, urban or youth organizations that still around from 1980.

So we have to put some respect.

on your name, first and foremost.

And I know how impactful the work is that you all do.

And I'm honored to even have been a part of it a couple years ago, you guys, honor me at the Black Unity Awards, which is dope.

I just seen you at the Unity Award, I'm sorry, Unity March with disease as well.

And then you do a Unity event this summer as well.

Can you touch on that?

Yeah, from day one, 1980, our first theme was bridging the gap.

Which if you think about it, it's bringing the older and younger generation together.

And that's really what unity is all about is how do we come together?

So I think the organization was born upon that, uh, working together unity.

And so whenever there's anything that deals with us coming together as black people, running rebels is excited to be a part of that.

So, um, I think, and I often say to people, the answer is us working together.

So it's some talented people in Milwaukee, great efforts in Milwaukee, but we just got to figure out how to connect these dots.

Jasmine Tyler

Absolutely, absolutely.

So when you work with young people, what do you believe is competing for their attention the most right now?

Well, we know often back in the day, we said everybody's looking for love.

Yeah.

And

our young people are not always getting it at home.

When 1980, when we talked about young people choosing to be a part of gangs, to be honest, they were getting love.

Yeah, they were getting something that was missing from their life.

So I think we definitely need to find a way to

pour that love into our young people because they are being tempted to turn to other directions to find that care and love that they're missing.

And we just have to offer

Jasmine Tyler

that.

Man, I was just talking about this yesterday because one of my students, he's 15 and he confided in me that he's been sober for eight months.

And I'm thinking maybe he's just talking about.

weed or something and he had been on ecstasy since eighth grade and his parents didn't even know he was coping with the death of his aunt in which he was a witness to and he used music as therapy.

So he's like, Ms.

Jazz, if I didn't have this, I probably wouldn't be sober.

The Running Rebels has executed the music industry so well when it comes to young talent.

There are a lot of people, for example, the person who introduced me to the music industry, Kool-Aid.

He is someone who first started at the Running

Rebels with you as well.

Um, how did you foresee back then that future will play a major part in how you connect with the youth?

Yeah, we do what works for the young people.

What are they into?

What's their passions?

And in 1980, it was basketball.

Everybody thought they was going to the NBA and we don't want to take their dreams and dash those dreams away.

So we want to enhance that.

So basketball then and now is the music.

Everybody feel they're going to be the next famous rapper

or whatever,

but.

You don't want to take their dreams and put them to the side.

So we take that, we move forward, we get them as much help as we can.

We help them enjoy life, pour that love into them and try to get as many doors open as possible.

And as I stated earlier, Milwaukee, music is no different.

I mean, musically.

Milwaukee has so much talent, and I just figured we just need a few doors cracked open.

And once we get in, it's gonna be just like basketball.

I mean,

now everybody know Milwaukee, you can get some really good players coming out of high school to go to college.

And even in the NBA, Terry Porter and what some of those people have done, I think music is just like that.

I think somebody's gonna crack that.

You know, get in and then it's just gonna open the door and they're gonna realize, I didn't know that much talent was in Milwaukee, but it definitely is.

Jasmine Tyler

Yeah.

And

Jasmine Tyler

shout out to Lil Vick, man.

He be killing it with the music and it's so positive, but it's like.

Okay, so he's I know he's with notes for notes now, too But day I was he was playing some of the students some of the videos and I was like just to see him as an adult now It's crazy.

But the fact that his music is so inspirational is even better When we're talking about the youth, we know that the environment matters.

I had the opportunity to tour Well, I've been to the East location multiple times, but I had an opportunity to show some youth the space and

The environment that you are created to me, it feels like the old school community centers where you go in and it's like being a neighborhood, you know, you around family is not institutionalized, is not systematic.

How important is the environment for young people?

It's so important.

You want them to feel comfortable.

Often we have young people say this is their home away from home.

You want them to feel that love that they're missing.

We want to make sure it's there.

And then in almost in every room, we have something different because all of the young people don't lean towards the same thing.

So if it's not music for this young person and they need a job, okay, go in for this job training program.

If yours is not music, but it's basketball, come on and get this development.

So we want to have what our young people need and want.

And so I think over the 46 years of doing this work, we've found out that it's not cookie cutter.

You just have to have what they.

What they want in music is so important because if you think about it, what better way to deliver a message and to have somebody bobbing their head at the same

Jasmine Tyler

time?

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

And you guys, um, you have the program surrounding, um, reentry for youth as well, right?

So what happens because you have this experience, what happens when a young person is constantly seeing violence, conflict, money, fame, sex and material success on their screens?

Yeah, I asked for adults to be understanding.

There was a young man that did some really terrible things.

And when people found out that at three years old, this young person was living in a doghouse.

You know, the hope in the despair.

that's not there in a young person's life is deep.

And I just think that understanding of what is this young person going through?

Because as adults, sometimes trauma, it gets the best of us, the ups and downs of life.

So can you imagine a young person who's not reached maturity yet?

trying to deal with those ups and downs of life and make all of the right choices.

It's almost impossible these days, but so much temptation to do wrong, so much negativity right around you, that I just think we got to help bring that light at the end of the tunnel closer, how young people can

Jasmine Tyler

see.

Absolutely.

What do you think young people need to see more of that they aren't seeing enough?

I

Jasmine Tyler

think they

need to see some success.

That looks like them.

Back in the day, it was almost like if you wanted to be successful, you had to do the drug thing.

You had to do the pip game.

You had to do these things.

But I just think we need to show our young people that somebody that

grew up in some of the same neighborhoods as you are being successful

and

made it through some of those ups and downs.

And the way they made it through was to accept help because we don't want nobody to feel like they got to do it by themselves.

But life is rough and we have to help our young people maneuver through

Jasmine Tyler

life.

Absolutely.

What's something you've learned from working with young people that has changed the way you look at the world?

It's just the the roughness of what you have to deal with.

Um, and I imagine sometimes life gets the best of me and I'll be like turning to my friends or shoulder family.

Who am I going to turn to?

Just think of a young person that moms is trying working two jobs and you know, pops ain't in the house.

So that young person, who do they turn

to?

So for me, it's just a challenge that our young people go through and us understanding so much that we got to be there for them.

Jasmine Tyler

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

If you could take one thing out of the hands of young people today, not literally, but one influence and replace it with something healthier, what would it be?

Hmm.

It would be who is your role model?

Who is your.

I'm shooting to be like this person and just trying to change that from being those negative images.

and changing that to be, you know, the young man that grew up on the same block as you, the person that picked up that microphone and that's their, their way out.

So everybody has a way to reach their success.

And we call it pipeline to promise it.

Everybody's promise is different.

Somebody's is this, somebody's is that.

But I think it's up to us adults to get over our hurt, our pain, get over our.

lack of willingness to work together.

And for our young people, show them that that working together is the answer.

Jasmine Tyler

Absolutely.

We got to go to break.

Do not touch that.

We got big Barnett in the building.

The running rebels is here.

One on one, seven to truth.

One-on-one stepping the truth.

You are officially tapped in with your girl Jazz Tyler.

We are live and direct we got uncle Vic Vic Barnett in the building of the running rebels I know that today you guys have an open house from 530 to 630 if you are free, please Come even if you don't have your children, but we would love for you to bring your children to 25 West Capitol Drive ages 12 through

18 there's music studio and podcasting a leadership program in basketball art recreation summer jobs Can you go through some of these descriptions and kind of break down what this looks like as well as the process of someone signing their child up

our Programming at running Rebels is driven by young people and the need So we do a lot of daily living skill type things, but that's what drive our program.

Yeah teach young people how to cook and

and not just young people, but we actually got adults and staff that we invite to come in and learn how to cook.

So being able to cook, being able to change a tire on a car.

So we know all of those things have kind of slipped away, but those are the things that drive our programming.

That educational component every year we give away.

um monies and scholarships

and

that's to inspire our young people so they can be thinking college and they can know that there's funds there that's available for them so we've been doing the scholarship and probably gave away close to three hundred thousand dollars in scholarship money so we want to offer that out to the community

as well

so the open house today is just to introduce

Um, to the families and to the young people and parents of some of the things that we offer because we know that we need a lot more out here to offer for our young people.

So we challenge any youth programs out here to be able to adjust your programming and adjust things to be able to take some young people in because.

It's so many young people I hear that deserve that opportunity.

They just lost.

And like I said before, we got to be the ones that helped shine that light to help them be able to see.

Jasmine Tyler

Yes, I'm going to touch on the scholarships.

So a lot of you mentioned it earlier.

A lot of people don't know that you and my uncle, Dom, my dad's brother were best friends and he was around.

He was still alive when you started to run the rebels.

So you have a scholarship that is named after him is cozy Kool-Aid, you know, various of different people who.

were impactful.

What does the scholarship process look like?

And can you explain what the scholarships are?

Yeah, we make a real strong effort to use the scholarships to help young people go to school, but also to keep the lives and keep the legacy and memory alive of people.

So as you stated, Don, being one of the original running rebel youth.

Miss Cozy, who I think everybody in the community know that she lived to do for Milwaukee.

So we want to keep those people names alive.

So we honor them by scholarships being in their name and then defining young people.

So we look for young people.

And if you know young people, it's too late for this year, but we're always open to a young person giving us a call and letting us know that they're in college or getting ready to go to college.

We have them come in, we do an intake to see what we can do because I think one of the advantages of running Rebels is everything we do is tied into mentoring, but even prior to that, there's a component of case management built in because I said, everybody's not the same.

What does

that young person need?

Somebody got to sit down with them and.

uh, see what they really need in life.

That goes with them.

So just sometimes just throwing them a ball and saying, go play ball.

That's not what's needed for that young person.

So we at the organization have used these 46 years to be able to kind of take the things that we know work.

And that's one of the things that work.

What do the young person need to be successful?

Jasmine Tyler

Yes.

One of the things I want to touch on that I absolutely have the utmost respect for you for is you really do push unity.

like you push it in a major way and you push peace.

And we were able to, so I gave you a call where they like, hey, doing some work with Tupac Foundation and we want to put a peace pole and you allowed us to plant the peace pole right outside of the location on Fonda Lake.

Can you talk a little bit about why peace and unity is so important to you?

Yeah.

And then when you made that call, I think sometimes it needs to be a little bit easier for people to say yes, because that aligns with exactly what we've been trying to do for 40, 46 years of creating opportunities for people to work together, creating opportunities to create peace.

Because like I said before, it's challenging.

Life is rough.

And how do we get people to

uh, be at a peaceful place to stop the violence and stay away from all of that.

We have a campaign that a little Vic kind of initiated that's called, uh, we ain't on that.

And that's getting the young people to understand that all around you is going to be negativity, but how can you let it be known without disrespecting because.

The people that's choosing to do wrong are not always terrible people.

They're making bad choices because of what they're dealing with and going through.

But just getting young people to understand, to be able to say, no, we're not on that negativity.

And like I said before, putting it to some music that make you

bounce.

It definitely helps.

But creating a message is so important because if you think about slavery, that's what kept a lot of slaves alive.

Being honest was the messages that they could receive through music.

Jasmine Tyler

Yes, yes, indeed.

I love the fact that family is important to you.

Dawn, you, your children, like you have managed to create a blueprint to show us what it looks like to do community and still balance it with your family while including your family.

How important is Black family to you?

Oh, it's so important because you think about it.

You're doing all of this work in the community and then you go home.

And you want to make sure that you doing the same love, the same care at home that you're doing out in the community.

So I think it's so important because people that balance of family and community have to align.

Otherwise, one side is losing out.

So I've been blessed with my wife.

I've been blessed with my kids.

And it wasn't a make thing.

Like I said before, we have to find out what our young people like.

So now it's easier for them to want to come.

So little Vic, it was music and my daughter Danielle, she just loves helping other people.

And if you think about it, that's what a mentor is, finding out what this young person needs in life and being there for

Jasmine Tyler

them.

Absolutely.

What program and do you have the same program at both locations or do they offer different programming?

Yeah.

At the other location, we really just kind of.

doing soft programming, but majority of our programming now have shifted over to 225 West Capital Drive.

And we do a lot in the community still.

Ms.

Brooks is having an event Saturday, so we'll be.

uh, packing up and getting young people.

We headed over to her event because as I stated, and as you stated, unity is the answer is the way.

And when somebody's doing good work in our community, I definitely challenged people to ask, who are they working with?

Who are they

supporting?

Cause if you not supporting other people and you want them to support you, that's just not fair.

So I just think that we can do it in Milwaukee cause Oh my goodness.

There's so much talent here, but we just got to connect.

Jasmine Tyler

Absolutely, so fundraising is huge and speaking of fundraising, you guys have a fundraiser coming up in October,

right?

Jasmine Tyler

Can you touch on that and how can people purchase

tickets?

Yep, we have our big annual epic evening we call it and it's an opportunity for us to showcase the young people and some of the things that they've done, showcase the scholarship piece and just kind of get in front of some of the funders and say, hey,

You supported running Rebels and this is what we're doing to be able to continue to do the good work in Milwaukee.

So we're excited about that.

I don't have the exact date, but I'll definitely get that out into the community.

But in October, it gives a chance for the young people to be able to dress up a little bit and just kind of see another side.

But at the same time, still being able to have a good time and help enjoy life.

Jasmine Tyler

Yes, so I know we have a few minutes left, but before I go to the next question, I just want to give you your flowers.

I do because you have and I'm not ashamed.

I talk about it all the time on here.

You've seen me at my worst, acting a fool, all types of things and you've seen me grown as well.

But what you never fail to do is not answer when I call or not respond when I text.

And if it's something you can't do, you say, hey, I can't, but let me see.

if there's a way for me to try to make it happen and that means a lot to me because there are so many people who pretend like they support and there are so many people who act like they want to see you in but when you have people like you who do that not just for me but for everybody and you've been doing it for so many years I truly just want to give you your flowers and tell you I appreciate you so much for that it means a lot.

It means a lot.

A lot of people don't have someone they can call on at any time.

So thank you for that, Uncle Vic.

I genuinely mean

it.

And you're a perfect example.

People need to understand that sometimes people need help, support, love, somebody to show.

Because once they get to a point of, I'm okay now, look at what you're doing for this community.

Look what a person is able to do.

So I'm just honored to be able to be in your life and be helpful, but even other people, I think that's my calling in life is to do as many good things.

every day that I can do and that definitely includes being able to help other people.

So I've been blessed to be in a position to help others and that's what I'm going to

Jasmine Tyler

do.

Absolutely.

Before we go, do you want to give out any shout outs?

Well, there's so many people.

So I don't I don't do the name thing, but I think everybody out here know that if you're fighting this fight, I honor you and I respect the work that you're doing.

I just challenge everybody to.

Let's find a way to continue to work together, support each other and be able to turn Milwaukee around because it's not a terrible place at all.

It's a beautiful place.

It's just like society overall.

It's just so much trauma going on.

People are hurting and I just want to be a part of Milwaukee down the line being the great city it should be and people like, who did it and how did it happen?

And everybody is saying we did

Jasmine Tyler

it.

Yes.

Yes.

We got to go to break.

When we come back, we are going to talk about what is getting your attention.

Uh, do not touch that dial.

She girl, Jazz Tyler, one on one, seven of truth.

You are officially tapped in with your girl Jaz Tyler on the award-winning 101.7 The Truth.

Huge shout out to my uncle Vic, Vic the Barnett of the Running Rebels.

He just joined us.

He is on his way to their open house from 5.30 to 6.30 p.m.

to 25 West Capitol Drive looking for ages, youth ages 12 through 18.

Also, I want to mention that Vom, my community brother Vomaze was able to obtain a building on 3rd and center.

The address is 2628 North MLK Drive.

In partnership with myself, so September 19th, we will be having an open house as well.

Ours is a little bit different, but there's always room.

for youth everywhere throughout the city.

So what we're offering is a space for people to come and take a look at what we have going on.

We're doing trades, barbering, cosmetology, mental health and wellness, carpentry.

We're in partnership with MSOE doing iRobotics.

Leadership training is so much more.

So please pull up.

That is taking place from 1 p.m.

to 3 p.m.

on September 19th, which is a Saturday.

So, moving right along, my question for today is, how much of your day is actually yours?

How much of your day is actually yours?

Jazz, what do you mean by that?

Well, I was looking on social media and seeing that Australia has proposed a my feed, my way approach to giving users great control over their algorithm.

Feed so this is pertaining to social media and no we're not talking about Whether or not social media is good or bad because that's a that's too easy.

We already know that we are talking about Should you be able to control what you see right so I Saw it and made me stop and reflect and I had to ask myself if I want a legitimate question do I want my algorithm deciding

What I'm going to see based off of what it thinks I'm interested in or do I want more control overseeing it, right?

And the reason being is because a lot of times we don't understand that we give so much attention to scrolling on line.

I'm guilty of it.

I'm telling you, I do it primarily because I enjoy the comedy.

I enjoy the comedy skits.

I enjoy the cooking videos and recipes and things of that nature.

But what ends up happening is I find when I go to my phone and I have an iPhone and it tells me my screen time, I know a lot of that is due to me scrolling.

And then I start to figure out, think about what exactly am I looking at?

One moment I'm looking at this, another moment something else pops up and then I begin to have scatterbrain, right?

So your algorithm is contributing to your mental health, to your thought process, right?

So in Australia, the Albanese government

is taking the next step following his world leader leading social media age to Ben and ensure Australians have more choice online with draft legislation for the digital duty of care released today for targeted consultation.

These new laws will put on digital service providers to provide a safe online environment

setting minimum standards for the features and tools that they use.

So this will include Australia's first My Feed, My Way initiative, which will give Australians control over their social media algorithms.

Social media platforms will be required to send a notification to new and existing users, offering them a choice over their default feed.

So users can choose to opt into having their default feed include personalized content recommended by their algorithm.

They can also opt out of personally recommended content in their default feed and see the friends and creators they choose to follow.

So this will give Australians greater choice over their platforms and what they see.

Further digital services like online games, apps and AI chat box.

will be required to protect people or humans under 18 from design features that have negative impacts, addictive features, or those that can have an effect on a young person's self-esteem.

They will also be required to protect youth under 18 from harmful content like content that promotes or encourages eating disorders.

content that promotes hostile ideas about women and gender equality, pornography, content that glorifies crime or life in danger and stunts, and content that causes serious mental health distress, including abuse and bullying.

I did also see, and this is according to the Prime Minister of Australia.

So this came right from the horse's mouth, what I just read.

This is something that they released on their website.

I did see

that there was a lawsuit and apparently, uh, I know we talked about this a couple of weeks ago that was causing this supposed to get, I believe about $3 billion, uh, to assist with mental health community programming pertaining to the youth.

Um, due to the lawsuit that was one nationwide against meta, uh, which is a company that owns Instagram and Facebook, uh, because they say that is causing.

Children and youth to become addictive right so I imagine that the purpose of them doing this Had something or you know every reason because of that lawsuit and they took it up on themselves to make sure that they implement this legislation in their entire country so had me thinking like Maybe we need that option, but most importantly, maybe we need that option in life, right?

How much of your day is actually intentional?

I want you to think about it and you don't have to you know It doesn't take a rocket science, but when you get time just really sit back and reflect on that right and Don't give me no excuse saying girl.

I'll be busy cuz I'll be busy too.

That's not what I'm asking you I'm not asking how busy you are.

I'm asking how much of your day.

Did you actually choose?

And to the ladies specifically, right?

This question isn't just for the ladies, but what I'm about to say is because we carry a whole lot, men do too, but I just want to talk to my sisters for a minute.

You know, we wake up before we even get ourselves together, somebody needs something.

Child, children, job, phone, friend, somebody birthday coming up.

This is everything that I've actually been dealing with all day today.

And I've been trying to sit down and figure out like,

Why am I so discombobulated?

I am a very very organized person.

I am a person who You know, I don't everything don't have to be ABCD But when it comes to my schedule when it comes to my daily routine when it comes to me being able to stay focused

I have to be organized.

Things has to be in place.

And I prep myself, my life, my day for things to be in place.

And I've been finding the past week that that has not been the case, right?

I've also been finding myself scrolling a little bit more on social media, social media primarily because, again, I like to stay up late and laugh at some of the comedy skits that I see if I'm looking for a new recipe.

Um, so on and so on.

But by the time I'm at home and I'm getting ready to go to bed, I realized that not only did I spend my day at work, both working both jobs and being a mother, uh, and doing that simultaneously, uh, by the time I'm get home, I am on my feet.

And there is so many different things that my algorithm is all over the place.

Like it is all over the place and I never realized how much it impacts my thought process, right?

Like you ever hopped online and then you see one thing you see somebody cooking and then the next thing you will see a news feed about a murder and then you will see something about and I don't know what's going on but lately because I don't even look at this stuff lately.

I've been getting all of the terror reading car ladies like how?

Why are y'all even on my algorithm?

which means that I don't have any control over it.

And it sounds simple to say, well, why don't you just stop scrolling jazz?

Or why don't you, you know, but it's hard, right?

I'm not a journalist, but I am.

I have to have things to talk about.

I have to do research.

I have to stay updated on what's happening throughout this entire world and country.

And that requires me to use or utilize social media a little bit more.

But again,

I did some reflection this weekend and I had to ask myself, you know, what did I do for me today?

What is taking my who and what has my attention?

Who and what has my attention, right?

Some of these things that pop up on the algorithms dictate your mood.

And this has been happening to me as well.

I can scroll and see something that make me happy.

Right?

Food make me happy.

So seeing some good recipes, scrolling, see a good recipe, I'm cool.

Then scroll down some more and I see two, you know, children deceased in a daycare that was owned by the same owner, but two different daycares.

Now my mood is altered.

Then the next thing that pops up on my algorithm on my feed.

Is something pertaining to celebrities or music or whatever the case may be so is is causing your mind to just kind of be all over the place and I actually think that this is a great idea as far as what they're doing in Australia Given people the choice to control their algorithm and yes, typically when you click on certain things That is how your algorithm

send you things based off of what it thinks you like, but to have actual control over it, I think is a good step to assist people with not just having control over what they see, but their mental health, their thought process.

And that's what I want to talk about today.

You know, what gets your attention and what gets your attention repeatedly can start influencing what you think is normal.

It forces you to think about what success look like, right?

You are so busy looking at people on social media who nine times out of ten are jacking and lying about what they have.

But you know, you equate your success to their success and you do it subconsciously.

You're not even paying attention to it.

You don't even understand that you are doing it.

But because you see it so often, it becomes normal to you.

We are going to finish this conversation.

When we come back, I want to hear from you.

You can call or text 833-212-1017.

Today, we are talking about how much of your day is actually yours.

What is demanding your attention?

It should grow just how to do not touch that down one on one seven the truth.

You are tapped in on one on one seven the truth with your girl Jazz Tyler if you are just now joining us Today we are talking about the things that gets your attention, right?

So I was reading an article in Australia.

The Albanese government is taking the next steps

Following is world-leading social media age ban to ensure Australians have more choice online with draft legislation for the digital duty of care released today for targeted consultation.

These new laws will put the onus on digital service providers to provide a safe online environment, setting minimum standards for the features and tools they use.

So this will include Australians first.

My feed, my way.

initiative, which will give Australians control over their social media algorithms.

And before we went to break, I was talking about the fact that I had to check myself, right?

I had to check myself.

this past weekend, well, last weekend on what it is that I am given my attention to.

I found myself being very discombobulated the past couple of weeks.

And this is very unlike me.

I am extremely organized all of the above.

But something that, you know, I had to sit back and realize is how much time am I actually spending when I'm by myself and I have time to myself, how much time am I spending on my phone?

And I'm not just talking about social media overall.

I'm talking about the algorithm because a lot of that has everything to do with your mood.

It can alter your mood.

You can see somebody cooking something and, you know, hey, this is cool.

The next thing you know, you see something about violence or someone dying.

And then after that, you see something about money or...

you know, advertisement, whatever the case may be, but what it does is it causes scattered brain.

So if you, if your algorithm is all over the place like mines in which it's justifiable, you know, I do radio, right?

And I'm in the industry.

So there are multiple things that I like to, uh, to research and look at.

Um, but my algorithm is all over the place.

And when I came across this article, I thought to myself,

What is getting my attention, right?

Am I being strategic about the things that I watch?

I am a person who likes to be strategic.

I only watch certain shows.

I only listen to certain types of music.

I only like to talk about certain things, right?

But I never included what I see on social media a part of that.

And some of the things that we think is normal is not right.

Have you ever and this may not be for you Maybe it's somebody you know personally Maybe it's somebody you see on social media But a lot of what happens is you begin to compare yourself and your life to what you see on social media So for example, what does success look like right?

You may see someone your age

late 30s, early 40s, who may, you know, drive a certain car or, you know, have some type of workshop, whatever it is, there is a lot of people on social media who are attempting to portray their lives to be a certain way.

And it may seem real, but 50% of it is not.

And then you will find yourself asking yourself if you are doing enough, right?

Not a comparison in the sense of

Why does this person has this and I don't but Don't lie, right?

Keep it 100.

You've ran across nothing.

You be like, dang how they do that Like how do you know I'm saying either how can I get that or what does it take to get that?

And that's the point that I'm making you have people on there who are these Relationship podcast man, you know, I'm saying like and it's no slight to them, you know, some of them have great advice but

I've never in my life seen so many people become relationship experts, especially people who have a history of having bad relationships.

And I'm not talking about them giving you advice on self-accountability, but I'm talking about them giving you advice on what a woman should and shouldn't do, or what a man should and shouldn't do based off of their own biases.

And then you begin to ask yourself, is this what loves look like?

Love look like, right?

Is this is what I am supposed to have?

You know the body shame and the everything the image The image you have people on there who I've never first and foremost.

I've never seen some men Interested in you know looking as fly as a woman on social media so much like it's crazy But you have people who spend their time posting things just to show you what they got

And a lot of times for some people who are not sure within themselves that can be a trigger, it can force them to begin to think why they don't have the things that they have.

So I want to go a little bit deeper with this because, again, even though this is something that we can control to a certain degree, what I do want to convey is that your algorithm, your social media feed is actually teaching.

you something.

And I want to say this because I don't want anybody misunderstanding where I'm going.

I'm not saying the algorithm is sitting somewhere trying to destroy you, right?

I'm not giving Mark Zuckerberg that much power over my life, but I am saying something very simple.

Repeated exposure matters.

Repeated exposure.

matters.

If every day you are looking at women with perfect bodies, perfect homes, perfect relationships, and I'm talking to my sisters, perfect vacations, perfect children, perfect businesses, and then you're looking at your actual life, which may be messy, expensive, stressful, but it's real.

You have to understand that comparison doesn't need somebody to walk into your house and tell you that you are not enough.

You know, sometimes you could use it as motivation, right?

Like when I see those advertisements about calisthenics, oh yeah, that gives me pump.

Like, okay, I don't gotta go to the gym.

I could do this at home, right?

But for some who may have insecurities or for some who feel like they wanna look a certain way and they don't, it could be triggering.

And then you begin to beat yourself up because it's like, why am I not like this?

Why don't I look like this or why don't I have this, right?

And the everybody else is doing it effect is real, right?

And I think this hit black woman in a very particular way because we are dealing with a culture that can put a ridiculous amount of pressure on women being independent But don't be too intimidating, right?

Be successful, but don't make people feel uncomfortable Be a good mother have a career

Take care of your man and take care of yourself, right?

You got to look good.

We got to stay in shape.

Our edges got it.

It's just no room for mistakes, right?

And again, obviously this is not the case for everybody, but this is the truth.

I see it all the time, especially with some of the conversations that the men have now, some men have on social media.

It would begin to put a lot of pressure on women to make them feel like they have to be a certain type of way.

So here's where I want to be truthful, right?

Some of that obviously like I said before Some of that inspiration is good and sometimes seeing another woman doing something It wakes you it wakes something up inside of you say hey, maybe you know and this is these are the the videos and these are The messages that I will prefer when I see a lot of women on my my timeline who are similar to motivational speakers

Or pastors or you know coaches and things like that and I'm not talking about the fake ones who act like they are girls girl, but they are really mean girls But you have a lot of women who are putting our positive messages Those are the type of inspirational things that I like to see right but again, you have some who don't

You have some who do it because they simply just want you to see what they have in their Appearance to say hey sis.

Yeah, let's let me let me help you Let me be motivational and that's not the case, right?

You see her buying her first house and say oh I need to get serious about you know buying a house, right?

I've seen things

Where it's like, oh, yeah, I got to check myself.

Like, okay, cool.

That's a reminder.

I did have that on my goal list.

And that is something that I want to do.

And seeing this just motivated me, you know, a little bit more.

Um, you might see somebody going back to school and say, you know what, maybe, maybe I should go back to school, right?

You might see somebody building a business and think, man, I've been sitting on, on this idea too long.

That's inspiration.

But inspiration becomes dangerous.

when it turns into self-rejection, right?

When you stop saying, that's beautiful for her, and you start saying, what's wrong with me that I don't have that?

Now you are comparing yourself to something that is unrealistic based off of somebody you don't know first and foremost, and something that is popping up on your feed based off of the algorithm.

Now you are comparing your life and what you have.

based off of somebody in a weird world that you probably would never see in real life.

And they may not even really have what it is that they are showing on social media.

And that's dangerous, right?

That's very dangerous.

It's not just the algorithm that does it.

It's not just social media.

Sometimes we do it in real life, in public, with somebody you know, with family members or friends, but at the end of the day, your inspiration should never turn into self-rejection, right?

The question should never be why I'm not, I'm not where this person is, right?

Why did I decide that I was supposed to be where this person is, right?

Some of y'all don't want that person's life.

You just want the feeling you think that that life gives that person.

And we gotta go to break.

When we come back, we're going to finish this conversation.

This is girl Jaz Tyler, one on one, seven to truth.

It's ladies night, 4 p.m.

to 7 p.m.

Monday through Friday.

It's your girl, Jazz Tyler Milwaukee.

way from me now it's making sense yeah it's all too crazy yeah gotta sit in the air i don't wear in that size right there yeah that ain't fair pick them up

Jasmine Tyler

That educational component, every year we give away monies and scholarships.

Jasmine Tyler

And

that's to inspire our young people so they can be thinking college and they can know that there's funds there that's available for them.

We've been doing the scholarship and probably gave away close to $300,000 in scholarship money.

So we want to offer that out to the community

Jasmine Tyler

as well.

So the open house today is just to introduce to the families and to the young people and parents of some of the things that we offer because we know that we need a lot more out here to offer for our young people.

So we challenge any youth programs out here to be able to.

adjust your programming and adjust things to be able to take some young people in because.

It's so many young people I hear that deserve that opportunity.

Jasmine Tyler

They just

lost.

And like

Jasmine Tyler

I said

before, we got to be the ones that helped shine that light to help them be able to see.

Jasmine Tyler

Yes, I want to touch on the scholarships.

Jasmine Tyler

So

as you stated, Don, being one of the original running rebel youth.

Miss Cozy, who I think everybody in the community know

Jasmine Tyler

that

she lived to do for Milwaukee.

So we want to keep those people names alive.

So we honor them by scholarships being in their name and then defining young people.

So we look for young people.

And if you know, young people is too late for this year, but we're always open to a young person giving us a call and letting us know that they're in college or getting ready to go to college.

We have them come in, we do an intake to see what we can do.

Cause I think one of the advantages of running rubbles is everything we do is tied into mentoring, but even prior to that, there's a component of case management built in because I said, everybody's not the same.

Jasmine Tyler

What does

that young person need?

And how do we get people to

uh, be at a peaceful place

Jasmine Tyler

to

stop the violence and stay away from all of that.

We have a campaign that a little Vic kind of initiated that's called, uh, we ain't on that.

Jasmine Tyler

And that's

getting the young people to understand that all around you is going to be negativity, but how can you let it be known without disrespecting because.

The people that's choosing to do wrong are not always terrible people.

They're making bad choices because of what they're dealing with and going through.

But just getting young people to understand, to be able to say, no, we're not on that negativity.

And like I said before, putting it to some music that make you

Jasmine Tyler

bounce,

it definitely helps.

But creating a message is so important because if you think about slavery, that's what kept a lot of slaves

Jasmine Tyler

alive.

Being honest with the messages that they can receive through music.

Jasmine Tyler

So

I think it's so important because people that balance of family and community have to align.

Otherwise, one side is losing out.

So I've been blessed with my wife.

I've been blessed with my kids.

And it wasn't a make thing.

Like I said before, we have to find out what our young people like.

So now it's easier for them to want to come.

So a little Vic, it was music and my daughter Danielle, she just loves helping other people.

And if you think about it, that's what a mentor is,

Jasmine Tyler

finding out

what this young person needs in life and being there for

Jasmine Tyler

them.

Absolutely.

What programming do you have the same programming at both locations or do they offer different programming?

Yeah, at the other location, we really just kind of doing soft programming, but majority of our programming now have shifted over to 225 West Capital Drive.

And we do a lot in the community still.

Yeah.

Ms.

Brooks is having an event Saturday, so we'll be

uh, packing up and getting young people.

We headed over to her event because as I stated, and as you stated, unity is the answer is the way.

And when somebody's doing good work in our community, I definitely challenged people to ask, who are they working with?

Jasmine Tyler

Who are they

supporting?

Cause if you not supporting other people and you want them to support you, that's just not fair.

Jasmine Tyler

So I

just think that we can do it in Milwaukee cause Oh my goodness.

There's so much talent here,

Jasmine Tyler

but we

just got to connect.

But in October, it gives a chance for the young people to be able to dress up a little bit

Jasmine Tyler

and just

kind of see another side.

But at the same time, still being able to have a good time and help

Jasmine Tyler

enjoy

life.

I genuinely mean it.

And

you're a perfect example.

People need to understand that sometimes people need

Jasmine Tyler

help,

support, love, somebody to show.

Jasmine Tyler

So I don't I don't

do the name thing, but I think everybody out here know that if you're fighting this fight, I honor you and I respect the work that you're doing.

Jasmine Tyler

it.

Yes.

Yes.

Pull up to the Running Rebels Community Open House today, September 10th, 5.30 to 6.30 p.m.

at 225 West Capital Drive.

They are looking for youth ages 12 through 18, music studio and podcast and leadership program and basketball art recreation summer drops.

But if you can't make it, I guarantee you if you reach out, I promise you'll get a response.

So even if you can't make it today, in which I know you guys hope that they can,

Uh, still reach out.

Doesn't matter.

Just still reach out.

You never know.

414-264-8222.

Yes,

Jasmine Tyler

indeed.

Thank you so much, Uncle Vic.

I know you got to get ready for the event, but I truly appreciate you for coming on.

We got to go to break.

When we come back, we are going to talk about what is getting your attention.

Uh, do not touch that dial.

She girl, Jazz Tyler, one on one, seven of truth.

You are officially tapped in with your girls.

Jazz Tyler on the award-winning 1017, The Truth.

Huge shout out to my uncle Vic, Victor Barnett of the Running Rebels.

He just joined us.

He is on his way to their open house from 5.30 to 6.30 p.m.

to 25 West Capitol Drive, looking for ages, youth ages 12 through 18.

Please Milwaukee, if you do have this opportunity to pull up, please make sure that you pull up.

Also, I wanna mention that

Vom, my community brother Vomaze was able to obtain a building on third and center.

The address is 2628 North MLK Drive.

In partnership with myself, so September 19th, we will be having an open house as well.

Ours is a little bit different but there's always room.

for youth everywhere throughout the city.

And the reason being is because a lot of times we don't understand that we give so much attention to scrolling online.

So in Australia, the Albanese government,

is taking the next step following his world leader leading social media age to Ben and ensure Australians have more choice online with draft legislation for the digital duty of care released today for targeted consultation.

These new laws will put on digital service providers to provide a safe online environment.

They will also be required to protect youth under 18 from harmful content like content that promotes or encourages eating disorders,

content that promotes hostile ideas about women and gender equality, pornography, content that glorifies crime or life in danger and stunts, and content that causes serious mental health distress, including abuse and bullying.

Children and youth to become addictive, right?

So I imagine that the purpose of them doing this Had something or you know every reason because of that lawsuit and they took it upon themselves to make sure that they implement this legislation in their entire country so had me thinking like Maybe we need that option.

But most importantly, maybe we need that option in life, right?

How much of your day is actually intentional?

I want you to think about it You don't have to you know, it doesn't take a rocket science But when you get time just really sit back and reflect on that, right?

And don't give me no excuse saying girl I be busy because I'll be busy too.

That's not what I'm asking you I'm not asking how busy you are.

I'm asking how much of your day did you actually choose?

And to the ladies specifically, right?

This question isn't just for the ladies, but what I'm about to say is because we carry a whole lot, men do too, but I just want to talk to my sisters for a minute.

You know, we wake up before we even get ourselves together, somebody needs something.

Child, children, job, phone, friend, somebody, birthday coming up.

This is everything that I've actually been dealing with all day today.

And I've been trying to sit down and figure out like,

Why am I so discombobulated?

I am a very very organized person.

I am a person who You know, I don't everything don't have to be ABCD But when it comes to my schedule when it comes to my daily routine when it comes to me being able to stay focused I have to be organized things has to be in place and I prep myself my life my day

For things to be in place and I find I've been finding the past week that that has not been the case, right?

I've also been finding myself scrolling a little bit more on Social media shows social media primarily because again I like to stay up late and laugh at some of the comedy skits that I see if I'm looking for a new recipe So on and so on but by the time I'm at home and I'm getting ready to go to bed.

I realized that

Not only did I spend my day at work, both working both jobs and being a mother and doing that simultaneously, by the time I'm get home, I am on my feet.

And there is so many different things that my algorithm is all over the place.

Like it is all over the place.

And I never realized how much it impacts my thought process, right?

Like you ever hopped online?

And then you see one thing you see somebody cooking and then the next thing you will see a newsfeed about a murder and then you will see something about.

And I don't know what's going on.

But lately, because I don't even look at this stuff lately, I've been getting all of the terror reading card ladies like how.

Why are you even on my algorithm, which means that I don't have any control over it.

And it sounds simple to say, well, why don't you just stop scrolling jazz or why don't you, you know, but it's hard.

Right.

I'm not a journalist, but I am.

I have to have things to talk about.

I have to do research.

I have to stay updated on what's happening throughout this entire world and country.

And that requires me to use or utilize social media a little bit more.

But again, I did some reflection this weekend and I had to ask myself, you know, what did I do for me today?

What is taking my who and what has my attention?

Who and what has my attention, right?

Some of these things that pop up on the algorithms dictate your mood and This has been happening to me as well.

I can scroll and see something that make me happy Right fool make me happy.

So seeing some good recipes scrolling see

a good recipe, I'm cool.

Then scroll down some more and I see two children deceased in a daycare that was owned by the same owner, but two different daycares.

Now my mood is altered.

Then the next thing that pops up on my algorithm on my feed is something pertaining to celebrities or music or whatever the case may be.

So it's causing your mind to just kind of be all over the place.

And I actually think that this is a great idea as far as what they're doing in Australia, um, given people the choice to control their algorithm.

Um, and yes, typically when you click on certain things, um, that is how your algorithm send you things based off of what it thinks you like, but to have actual control over it, I think is a good step, uh, to assist people with not just having control over what they see, but their mental health, their thought process.

And that's what I want to talk about today, you know What gets your attention and what gets your attention?

Repeatedly can start influencing what you think is normal It forces you to think about what success look like right you are so busy Look at that people on social media who nine times out of ten are jacking and lying about what they have but You know you equate your success to their success

and you do it subconsciously, you're not even paying attention to it.

You don't even understand that you are doing it, but because you see it so often, it becomes normal to you.

We are going to finish this conversation.

When we come back, I want to hear from you.

You can call or text 833-212-1017.

Today, we are talking about how much of your day is actually yours.

What is demanding your attention?

It should grow just how to do not touch that down one on one seven the truth.

You are tapped in on one-on-one seven the truth with your girl Jazz Tyler if you are just now joining us today we are talking about the things that gets your attention right so I was reading

article in Australia, the Albanese government is taking the next steps.

Following is world leading social media age ban to ensure Australians have more choice online with draft legislation for the digital duty of care released today for targeted consultation.

These new laws will put the onus on digital service providers to provide a safe online environment, setting minimum standards for the features and tools.

Um, they use.

So this will include Australians first, my feed, my way initiative, which will give Australians control over their social media algorithms.

And before we went to break, I was talking about, um, the fact that I had to check myself, right?

Um, I had to check myself.

this past weekend, well, last weekend on what it is that I am given my attention to.

Then next thing you know, you see something about violence or someone dying.

Keep it 100 you've ran across nothing.

You'd be like, dang How'd they do that?

Like how do you know I'm saying either how can I get that or what does it take to get that?

And that's the point that I'm making you have people on there who are these Relationship podcast man, you know, I'm like and it's no slight to them, you know, some of them have great advice but

So I want to go a little bit deeper with this because, again, even though this is something that we can control to a certain degree, what I do want to convey is that your algorithm, your social media feed is actually teaching you

Something and I want to say this because I don't want anybody misunderstanding where I'm going I'm not saying the algorithm is sitting somewhere trying to destroy you, right?

I'm not giving you know, Mark Zuckerberg that much power over my life But I am saying something very simple repeated exposure matters repeated exposure

You know, sometimes you can use it as motivation, right?

Some of that, obviously, like I said before, some of that inspiration is good and sometimes seeing another woman doing something, it wakes you, it wakes something up inside of you.

Say, hey, maybe, you know, and these are the videos and these are the messages that I will prefer.

When I see a lot of women on my timeline who are similar to motivational speakers,

I've seen things where it's like oh, yeah, I gotta check myself like okay cool That's a reminder.

I did have that on my gold list and that is something that I want to do

and seeing this just motivated me a little bit more.

You might see somebody going back to school and say, you know what, maybe I should go back to school.

You might see somebody building a business and think, man, I've been sitting on this idea too long.

That's inspiration.

But inspiration becomes dangerous when it turns into self-rejection.

When you stop saying, that's beautiful for her.

And you start saying, what's wrong with me that I don't have that?

Now you are comparing yourself to something that is unrealistic based off of Somebody you don't know first and foremost and something that is popping up on your feed based off of the algorithm Now you are comparing your life and what you have Based off of somebody in a weird world that you probably would never see in real life And they may not even really have what it is that they are showing on social media And that's dangerous

That's very dangerous.

It's not just the algorithm that does it.

It's not just social media.

Sometimes we do it in real life, in public, with somebody you know, with family members or friends, but at the end of the day, your inspiration should never turn into self-rejection.

If you are a person like me who loves scrolling, and baby, I'll be on there cracking up, it's all types of stuff that I'll be seeing.

If you are

afraid is going to keep you afraid.

If you are comparing yourself to other people is going to constantly keep you comparing yourself to other people.

And if you are lonely, it can keep you in a state of mind that makes you feel like there is no need to connect with anyone else.

And we're going to unpack that.

When we come back from break, I want to hear from you.

You can call or text me 833-212-1017.

It's your girl Jazz Tyler.

Do not touch that down.

So whatever it is you were watching, you know, yesterday or earlier, it may not be something that you want to watch right in that moment, but the algorithm does not know that.

If your entire feed is people complaining about relationships, you begin to think that everybody is having relationship problems.

Digital detox is necessary for real personal growth and creativity and and I'm glad you said that because Digital detox is a real thing and I think the problem that I'm having personally is I don't know if I'm able to have a detox from my algorithm Due to my line of work.

I don't know if I'm able to step back and say today.

I don't I can't be on social media

My cousin is the first person that popped up on my newsfeed and baby, she looking fly.

Okay, let me save that I like that Now I scroll down again and there is a video in Portland Louisville, Kentucky, right?

that So there's about 50 police officers outside because they have found multiple unalived bodies inside of someone's house and Then the next thing is a wedding dress You catch my drift

Jasmine Tyler

Absolutely.

Thank you so much,

Al.

Have a good one.

Hallelujah.

Jasmine Tyler

You as well.

We got to go to break.

Do not touch that dial.

I want to hear from you.

You can call or text me.

833-212-1017.

What will your algorithm expose about you?

What is your algorithm saying?

It should go to Jaz Tyler.

One on one seven the truth.

You are tapped in on one-on-one seven-and-troupe with your girl Jazz Tyler.

If you are just now joining us, we are talking about the new legislation that was passed in Australia, an initiative called My Feed, My Way, which gives Australians

Errol man

Jasmine Tyler

so.

Like iRobot mixed with uh don't

look behind, you know, the typical end of the world type of thing, but more realistic, right?

Talking power grid, power outages.

We're talking inflation.

We are talking technology taking over.

We are talking all of these things.

It's a trip.

It's a trip.

Let's get into it.

When we come back from break, it should grow a jazz title of one on one, seven of the truth.

It turned out to be true.

Can't make this up It's supposed they have replacement drinks so similar drinks to What's those drinks patients insure they have protein shakes?

meal replacement shakes all of that and a lot of the vegan and plant-based and impossible this and that It's not really what it is

Transcended, that's what it's called.

Came out in 2014, want to go pay attention to that.

We got to go to Breakthrough, not touch that dial, should grow jazz style.

I'm stepping the truth.

One-on-one stepping the truth, you are officially tapped in on the award-winning one-on-one stepping the truth.

If you are just now joining us, it's your favorite cousin.

Yep, Bray and Shannon, I said it.

I'm the favorite cousin.

Okay, it's your favorite niece.

It's your favorite niece.

There we go.

Favorite niece, favorite TT.

Yeah, hold on.

You trying to call me up?

It's your favorite knees, your favorite TT.

What are the other?

She girl, Jazz Tyler.

If you are just now joining us, we are talking about algorithm, technology, all of the above.

Before we went to break, I was explaining how me and brother Z had a conversation about the fact that these movies has

uh, been warning us, have been warning us for quite some time.

It's been in our face for many of years to prep us for the day and age we are in as it pertains to technology, the full recalls, all of the above.

And yet we just continuously forget to, uh, realize that the things we have seen throughout the years has not been entertainment only.

There has been some truth.

They could not say at the time that it was true because it was not invented yet.

That is how they trick us.

Cousin Jazz, she got a whole collection of those kinds of movies.

Yeah, we gotta have Movie Night, Cousin Jazz.

We gotta pull out the projector outside and have a Movie Night with the family, with everybody, Truth Nation, because we have to begin to educate or re-educate ourselves.

Some of the movies that she listed was...

Her iRobot Soylent Green Fahrenheit 451 equilibrium 1984 video drone step for wives a scanner darkly listen I Never even heard of those I need to I need to now Soylent Green equilibrium Fahrenheit 451 iRobot absolutely the last ones I haven't but I am eager and I am going to go and watch it

Um, I was also talking about the food recall and how There are so many recalls on the things that we eat on a daily basis and I was describing the movie soiling green That came out in the 70s, but was based in 2022 and it was surrounded inflation On food and food was so high that a hundred dollars will only get you a loaf of bread some lettuce and tomatoes or a potato People were dying

And the dictator started to take their bodies and turn them into green pallets and started feeding them to the people.

And this detective found out about it.

And when I looked it up, I seen that it really was a product.

Soil.

It's a plant-based product, and they sell it online and in grocery stores, Myers included.

And it had me questioning all these years that people have labeled me and people I know as conspiracy theorists.

And yet we was right again It's right in front of our faces when we're talking about this technology stuff Jazz said I suggest you watch video Drone first, you know what I wonder I need to look online because I assume these movies are a little older I need to look online and see how I can stream them or what they're streaming on

Um, I might just ask my mama she too if she got she got she still got VHS tapes whole boxes full of them.

Um, but We got to start paying attention to these things Not because we don't care, but because we do care We need to literally under they have been telling us for a long time.

What is going to happen?

What is going to happen is right here in our faces, right?

And we can't run from it

You can say I want to live off grid.

They got technology so cold that even if you built your own bunker, they can tell if somebody is underground.

You can't run from it.

It's here.

It's everywhere in the entire world.

There is nowhere you can run from technology.

The satellites in the sky, everything, the all seeing eye.

If you know, you know.

It's nowhere you can run.

Snow such thing as privacy.

Privacy is a facade.

They started with the data leak.

They lied to us and say, hey, it's been a data breach.

Data leak.

No, you're just sold the information.

You sold my information.

And then you want to file a lawsuit.

So this company, the other company can file bankruptcy.

And then restart their company under a different name and then you're going to sell that new company that the same owners own our data again and then say you got a what million dollar lawsuit and you got to pay everybody to check and you get nine dollars Everybody get nine dollars That's how that works There is no privacy

This is taken over but it's very interesting and disturbing at the same time to see someone who actually works for Anthropic and actually builds these databases for AI and technology to come out and say hey People in in this world.

I am warning you that by the end of this decade technology is going to destroy mankind not just

in a sense of jobs, but physically.

Physically is going to destroy us.

I gotta get him off for an interview.

I gotta talk to him because first and foremost, I wonder if there's any type of contract he has with Anthropic that states he can't say certain things.

I imagine there is, maybe he didn't care when he was talking to CNN, but.

There was 481 transcripts that they had to go back and look at to see if this, uh, this situation has happened before.

And when you read the article, what is basically saying is that it created, they told the AI and the technology not to do something, basically, they shut it down.

They stopped it completely.

And what it did was said, all right, cool.

Don't worry about it.

I'm going on wild down yonder and do what I want to do and create something else on his own.

They created this database, this artificial intelligence and tried to shut it down.

And all he did was replicate itself and went somewhere else and built something else in the database.

That means that they have no control.

They have absolutely no control.

How many times has this happened and they didn't know it?

You know how scary that is?

That's that's scary and that's powerful at the same time.

And yet we sitting here worried about everything, but what this world is turning into.

So you got AI Jenner saying they the companies is saying

Listen, we're about to shut you down.

AI is saying, OK, cool, don't worry about it.

I'm going to go on here, go down the street and do what I want to do.

Yeah, you got all of these food recours.

And it's not surprising that all the food recours is all the food black people eat.

Majority of the food that's on the food recours is what black people eat.

Even Miranda leave, they saying now that what that tells me is.

Not only are they attacking the fool, but they're coming after organic natural herbs.

You understand?

For all the people who say well, we shouldn't be eating this stuff anyways.

Okay.

Well, guess what?

Marankel leaf is on there now, too Now they are coming after after the natural herbs and that is on the full USDA and FDA full recall list

Then you they're pushing this agenda on the babies.

This is what I've been talking about all week They are pushing this a certain agenda on our babies Has nothing to do with Whether we like the fact that somebody choose their sexual identity, but at the end of the day Some of this stuff is an agenda and some of it is population control That is the reality

And we have been so far removed from obtaining this retaining, not obtaining, but retaining this information because our algorithms forces us to lose our attention span.

In less than 60 seconds, you feel four different emotions, maybe even 10.

because you're constantly scrolling looking at so many different various things at one time.

So much to the point that you don't even understand that you are sidetracked and thrown off because it has become a part of your normal routine.

Do you understand the state that we are in as a people right now in this world, in this country, in this city, in this state?

Not to mention the data centers.

controlling the water system.

And if I'm not mistaken, Trump just said something about somebody on Washington.

He'll say something about us having clean water is not pretty much a necessity like they basically ain't got to give us clean water.

Then you got the data centers who's trying to control pay to control the water system.

And then you got we energies who is teaming up with them because they offer we energy some money and they're going to increase our electricity bills.

Then you got the hackers from out the country hacking into our power grid in systems And we just didn't hear talking about another Tyler Perry movie With another Tyler Perry wig y'all seen that movie last Why did I get married again?

Why do he keep putting these wigs on these people?

Tyler Perry we are in 2026 don't nobody wear afros with the sideburns no more brother I don't know if you got the news memo But we so busy online and in conversations talking about Tyler Perry movies Now we not even paying attention to what's really going on Jack Cousin Jazz West said and Blade Runner is a great movie.

I forgot about Blade Runner.

I Forgot about that

Gotta wake up people gotta wake up your grudge ass Tyler We got to go to break to pay this last bill brother Z and beach.

Let's get it

Shout out to my uncle Vic, the Running Rebels.

He stopped by earlier today.

We had an amazing show.

We've also talked about social media.

We talked about algorithms.

We talked about Anthropik, the technology, all of the above.

Cousin Jasmine West, she also

Provided us with a list of movies That you guys can pay attention to and watch pertaining to technology Step forward a scanner darkly Soiling green iRobot Fahrenheit 451 all of the above man at the end of the day listen There is a lot that's happening in this world Majority of the week I've been talking about our mental health

Whether it's pertaining to your algorithm, whether it's pertaining to your children or students, if you are an educator at school, the full recall, all of the above, we are just in a state of emergency, literally, right?

And it's unfolding right in front of our eyes.

There are wars happening, right?

There is full recalls.

Anthropic, an ex-employee from Anthropic.

At some point we have to hold ourselves responsible and start having some type of discipline so that we can properly prepare for what is happening in today's world.

We have to.

We have to be able to identify distractions and not feed into it because social media or someone is telling us to.

It's not a coincidence that certain things are taking place and happening.

While we are dealing with some very serious issues in this country in this world There are so many things meant to keep us distracted So that we can't prepare that's the easiest way to defeat your enemy That's the easiest way when you playing chess As soon as you think the pawn is weak boop digger your queen Soon as you let your guard down

So I ain't worried about it.

I'm good.

I got money put up.

I got money in the savings account.

What happens if they take all your money out the bank account where they deny you access to everybody?

What happens if your power goes out and it never comes back on?

What happens is every single food that we have is contaminated.

How will we survive then?

How will you survive?

What happens when technology take over even more than what it is?

Not just on your laptop not just chat GPT, but real life iRobot Is it is happening you see the waymo cars you see the robots you see they even got robots delivering food the drones everything It is here and it is happening

And while we sitting back watching these Tyler Perry movies with these effed up Afros and sideburns, we're not paying attention to what's really going on.

And that's the moral of the story.

Got to pay attention to what you are giving your attention to.

Tomorrow, I got my good home girl, Kinda, coming in.

She's joining me for Ladies Night.

We're going to have some conversations surrounding motherhood, sisterhood, and relationships.

Some of the things we're going to be talking about, listen, it's going to get juicy.

Now y'all know I really do do my thing when I'm by myself and I'm talking about these topics, but when I whip my ladies, oh, it's going down.

Here you go, brother Z and me chatting already.

Oh, you still have headphones on?

Already.

Friday.

Don't worry, I got the fellas coming too.

Not tomorrow, but the fellas is coming too.

We're going to have some conversations.

So, um, tomorrow's ladies night to girl jazz, Tyler, I got kinder coming in.

Um, we're going to talk about sisterhood.

We're going to talk about the fake girl girls.

What it means to be a mean girl, right?

Talking about relationships, um, exclusive dating versus serial dating.

And is it okay to date friends?

And we're also going to talk about motherhood.

parents and young adults and privilege and entitlement.

It's ladies night, 4 p.m.

to 7 p.m.

Monday through Friday.

It's your girl, Jazz Tyler Milwaukee.

I love you.

I love you.

I truly do.

Please enjoy your evening.

Be safe and peace.
