Well, I can tell you it seems like I spend hour after hour on that side. So I'm with you.

All right. So now at the start of the second hour each week, this is where Sully has to put

because talk about a beautiful morning. I bet you today people are going to take advantage,

right? Absolutely. Can't get much better morning than we've got going right now, especially

with the lineup of college football coming up as well. Hey, before we get started, I just

Well, let's jump in and talk about some great matchups here in college football and our Sully's

college football weekly 10 game challenge says in the right in the title, 10 games. We're going to

have both Joe and Sully make their picks. And we'll start off with one of the terrific matchups,

Georgia and Clemson. And again, you talk about two powerhouse programs. Always a terrific

non-conference matchup and Georgia and Clemson. And let's start off with Joe. What do you think?

Well, this I think this is going to be one of the marquee games of the day. It's Georgia versus

Clemson. Both have been power horses over the years, but I'm going to give the tip to Clemson down

there. Oh, you know, the last time these played, these teams played was 21. And to Joe's point,

it was 10 to 3, the final. And it was not an offensive touchdown score. Georgia scored on a

pick six. Joe, I'm going to have to respectfully dissent. I think Carson Beck, great player. I like

Georgia in this game, although I am looking for a lot closer game than the 13 and a half here.

Not quite as terms of star power in our second game. We got North Texas taking on South

Alabama again. Was that the American Athletic Conference and the Sunbelt going up against each

other? This time around, we'll let the the man himself solely make the pick. Okay, we use this game

because years ago, I went when when South Alabama was coming in, what they did, a general was

different than what teams typically do. They didn't go to the FCS or they just came

from nowhere and then worked their way through and then ended up in the Sunbelt. They were

scheduled to play North Texas. And I thought this is kind of cool. You got a Texas team and

Alabama team, two of the, you know, really better states when it comes to college football.

Anyway, in this game, I think North Texas gets it done. They're they're playing in the American

and looking to make some noise in that league this year. So Joe, I like North Texas.

Well, I'm going to have to respectfully decline to agree with you. I'm going to go with South

Alabama being a Texas being on the road and opening, you know, opening game for the season,

getting things done on the road is a little more tough than usual. So I think South

Alabama will be ready for this challenge. Great matchup in the state of Florida coming up

later today. Miami and Florida. And I know that Saul, you said last week, you're very curious

to see if Coach Napier can continue to bring Florida back. Yeah, Grand Merch has the quarterback.

And then Miami, Mario, Cristobal is trying to bring them back to glory as well. And this one

is always a big, large match down in the Sunshine State. This time we'll start off with Joe.

Yeah, this is one of those games that you look forward to every year. Whenever you have an

interstate rival going on, I'm going to go with Florida on this one. Grand Merch is what

in his eighth year now is NCAA quarterback. Or it seems so as, you know, the former badger who

just didn't have things line up with him there. But I think he's got, they've got him on the right

footing down there. And he's become a quarterback that I think everybody had Wisconsin expected him to be.

So I got to tell you, I like your language because Billy and Appierre said this kid is way better

than what he's shown because when he brought him in, the Florida fan base went crazy. We don't want

this guy. He talked about his footwork, Joe. So when you said footing it popped in my head.

Last year, his ratio was 20 to three 20 touchdowns to three picks. When he left Wisconsin,

it was 10 touchdowns to 11 picks. So whatever Billy and Appierre saw, he was right about it. And

I'll tell you what, I'm going with Florida in this game. So I'm with our next game. Again,

we talked briefly about this earlier. Again, one of those former Eastern matchups. Now from the

big 10 Penn State, from the big 12 West Virginia. Sully mentioned that Penn State has a great

record against West Virginia over the years, but West Virginia finished off last season very well.

This time, well, that's Sully, make the first pick. I'm going with Penn State. And as I think,

Penn State is going to have their way in this game. They have great runners. Allered their

quarterback really. It's time for him to step up in an elite defense, Joe. So I'm with Penn State,

even though they're on the road. Well, I'm going to agree with you on this one. Penn State, I believe,

like you said, they have a defense down there. That is generations deep. And I just don't know that

the West Virginia mountaineers have the favorite capacity to accommodate that Penn State defense.

Up next, UNOV taking on Houston. And again, I think we mentioned last week with UNOV with that

wonderful new stadium. The Raiders play it in in Las Vegas, a lot to kind of sell and try to build

up that program. And Houston, new coach at Houston, one of Sully's favorites, trying to make

the mark in the big 12 conference. So UNOV at Houston. And Joe, what do you think?

Yeah, you know, this is going to be a big matchup going down into Houston with UNOV.

But I think there's too many ifs going on with the first year new head coach at Houston. So

I'm going to go with UNOV in that coming off for really good season last year.

Yeah, you know, I can't go away from my guy, Willie Fritz. You know, he, uh, I've watched him at

Sam Houston. He did great work at Tulane. They beat us, see with, you know, with Williams in a

bowl game. So as good as that, you, uh, UNOV has been last year was the best season they've had

in over a decade. I still like, Willie, to get this done at home in Houston.

It is half time now of our Sully's 10 game challenge. And again, our guest today is Joe Nino

from rib mountain golf course. And again, Joe is, I mean, he, everybody at rib must be just thrilled

when you have a morning like this. Uh, we want to make sure that the golf season lasted long as

possible. And as he said, really a terrific place to play some golf. Oh, absolutely. Anything else

you want to add about rib mountain that people should know about? Yeah, absolutely. I mean, it's

such a wonderful course. And the amount of rain we've had this year has really brought that

the green out of the course. Um, they're doing improvements there all the time. They've got,

they've redone the five T box up, uh, where I call it Amen, our Amen corner locally that, uh,

it's a challenging little course. And if anybody thinks that an executive course or a part three

courses and something that can challenge you, I challenge you to come out there and try, give it a try.

And I'll tell you, I'm with you, Joe. I try to get out there early in the morning at six.

And it's absolutely the best kept secret in Warsaw. You know, you, uh, the hill is glistening.

A lot of times to do kind of comes off it. And you can see whether it's Paul or Tom or Tony,

they're driving in and out of the of the mist. Um, and then of course, after I'm done playing,

I go in and one of the great TV analysts is Michael Liva. We watch Perry Mason every day at eight.

And Michael knows the, uh, the year that we're in by the car. And he seems to know every actor,

actresses that appears on it. So I got to tell you, I, I start my day out there as often as I can.

And it's just absolutely terrific way to go. Absolutely. It is fantastic. We got five more

games to make picks on. So let's get right back into it. Uh, you see a way again, one of the new

members of the big 10 conference brand new head coach as well. And they will travel to Hawaii.

And, uh, Hawaii home team today and, uh, Sally, what do we, what do you like in this game?

You know, I'm, I'm really struggling with this one. I think Timmy Chang, you know, their,

their former quarterback who said all kinds of records, um, had, had a very good year, a year ago.

But I just think you see how even on the road has too much talent. They got a new coach.

Um, and so there are some drawbacks here. But I think UCLA just overpowers them with players.

Well, I'm gonna have to agree with you on that one, Sally. Even though Hawaii has, you know,

it's had a really good team for a number of years now. UCLA. Like you said,

just, they just have the recruiting power that Hawaii just doesn't have.

Um, even though the, you know, if you were a player, why won't you want to play in Hawaii?

But nonetheless, yeah, UCLA isn't that far off. So, you know, UCLA, even though their

challenge, traveling is not that big of a jump out to Hawaii. So I'm going to go with UCLA

in this one as well. Up next, a good one because we have a couple of power for conferences,

getting together in a non-conference affair. You got Virginia Tech from the Atlantic Coast

Conference and Vanderbilt from the SEC in this time. Uh, Joe goes first. Yeah, you, you look at this

one and you, you know, this is one of those is when you look at it, you don't really think Vanderbilt

is being a big team. But they've been really good the last five to 10 years. And I'm going to tip

this to Vanderbilt. Well, you know, I got to tell you, this is another one that I kind of struggle

with. Uh, Clark Leah, the coach at Vandy has done really good work. And, you know, shame on Vanderbilt,

they actually think they're an academic institution before they're a football. I'm not sure what to say

about that. But, you know, you give them their dues and you would like to see them turn into a

Stanford, a Northwestern where you're able to play a little more competitively. But Joe,

that said, I'm still going to have to go with Virginia Tech. I think Virginia Tech just brings

a better focus into this game from what they were able to do last year. And I like them to get it done.

Up next, South Dakota State again, trying to go up against the big boys. They've proven themselves

in the FCS. And now they travel to still water, take on Oklahoma State. And this time is solely.

Yeah, I got to tell you, this is a bad opponent for South Dakota State because these guys will play

their position first. It's not a Colorado. It's not a team, a Florida State that has all the

South letticism everywhere. And those guys tend to be playmakers before they play their position,

not Oklahoma State. They're going to be better athletically than South Dakota State. And these guys

are committed to doing things right as opposed to doing what I would say, right things. So

as much as I would like to see South Dakota State get this done, I think Oklahoma State finds

away at home. I totally agree with you, Sully. This one is one of those, this could be a launch game

for South Dakota State. This could either send their program a little bit better or it's going to

keep them where they're at. Oklahoma State just has too much power recruiting ability down there.

Mike Gundy, like you said, he's a disciplinarian. Those guys play their positions.

It would be awesome to see South Dakota State put up a good show here. But like you said,

I'm going with Oklahoma State as well. LSU and USC game being played in Las Vegas. Again,

we talked a little earlier about I think the importance for both these coaches to get off

the good starts and just a huge one between the SEC and the big 10. And Joe, what do you think?

You know, this is a really good game. LSU down in the SEC and USC in the big 10. Let's

we use that loosely. LSU, this is going to be this is this is this is I'm kind of contemplating

with myself here, but LSU has had some difficulty in opening day. But I think they knock that jinx

and they're going to pull this off against SC. Okay. And Joe, I'm going to go the other way on

this one. I'm going to go with Lincoln Riley and SC because Chad of their receivers,

they have four great receivers. And we all know that a year ago, LSU struggled in the second day.

I think they exploit that Miller Moss. We all know Lincoln Riley, CSQ with quarterbacks. He's

going to have ready. And I think that SC outscores LSU in this game on Sunday.

And finally, I think the game that's totally probably wants to watch more than any of the other

games. He got Notre Dame heading to college station, taking on Texas A&M, just a massive,

massive non-conference game that trying to launch the new post jimbo Fisher era at the A&M.

And well, let Mr. Notre Dame of self-solid make the first pick.

Well, you know, my claim to fame with Notre Dame is my brother Pat made the first call to get

Rudy in. And I got to tell you right now, as I make my pick, Joe, the Notre Dame fight song is

quietly playing somewhere in my head. I'm going to go with the Irish.

Somewhere in your head. You know, there's been a lot of talk about the offensive line.

As if these guys aren't high four stars, they are. Jagger saw the youngster that was hurt,

played one game. And everybody seems to be losing their mind that he's not playing.

The problem was the two tackles that went to the NFL, not Jagger saw. I like Notre Dame in this game.

I think A&M is going to bring it. I think the environment is going to be nuts. They're talking about over

167,000 at the game. They'll be very loud. But I like the Irish, Joe.

Well, I'm going to go against you here. You know, even though I know you're the Irish guy,

but Texas A&M coming off a great season and they got things rolling down there.

There's been a history of them being a good program. And they're finally coming back to that

lore of back when things were really good for an A&M. Notre Dame has always been on the

national spotlight. You know, that being an independent for how many times. And they still are.

So I just think Texas A&M is going to make a statement here. And Notre Dame is going to go

back with their tail between their legs. And I'm going to tell you one other thing about this.

The 12th man will not be on the field. So they can sit in that ramp. They go all the wreck that

they want. I wish quite a few differences there. So I have to see who ultimately gets the

better of it. Joe Nino, any final thoughts again? We're mounting golf course. And again,

I thought some good points you made. I think this will be very interesting. But any final point

do you like to make before we wrap it up? Yeah, absolutely. As I'm here for Rimmountain Golf Course,

come on out play. Today is a perfect day. You can get nine holds in and an hour and a half.

Two hours come in and watch some great college football. Rimmountain Golf Course is one of those

I'm pretty sure that's not what Joe's saying.

Find out who's topping the FCS and the Group of High,

because again, when you go to Sully's College Football Page,

you don't just get the SEC in the Big 10.

You get it all, don't you?

We track 262 teams, and in my infinite wisdom,

which is neither infinite nor very wise, when we added the FCS,

we also had about 200 pages, because the FCS plays down,

they played Division 2, they played Division 3, they played NEI,

and then some actual college divisions I never heard of.

And so we needed a page for them.

So the site chat has grown to over 500 pages.

Here we're going to, I'm going to go down 5 through 1 on the FCS,

and then you can kind of talk about all the teams and where we stand

in terms of the division as we start off this new season.

You got Ferman at number 5.

You got Villanova at number 4.

You got North Dakota State at number 3.

You have Montana at number 2, and South Dakota State at number 1.

We talked a little bit about South Dakota State

and their Big Matchup, but North Dakota State also had a

fairly big matchup as well.

But as you take a look at the top 5 teams in the FCS,

what are your general thoughts here?

These teams can all play North Dakota State

until that lost Colorado had beaten seven straight FBS programs.

And so the reality is these teams can line up,

and I'll tell you, the lower functioning FBS teams are at risk.

Colorado may not be a great team yet,

but they have great individual players.

And this North Dakota State team was a little inexperienced,

and I saw things in that game that you don't typically see

from North Dakota State guys running free,

and getting lost in coverages.

Had to spend one of the other North Dakota State teams

a little more experience in the back end,

I think they would have beat Colorado.

Or even a game later in the season as well,

who knows, because again,

early out of the campaign,

and you talked about South Dakota State,

they didn't lose the game last year,

but if they're not going to lose the game this year,

it's going to be a very impressive win today if that happens.

Yeah, you know, there was, I bet a stat where South Dakota State

was 15 and all,

and my gundy is 15 and all against FCS teams.

So 15 and all, when I say South Dakota State,

15 and all last year,

so there were two, 15 and zero's coming into this game.

Should be a fun game.

Montana is always a really good program.

Ferman is in the Socon,

and that was the best FCS conference,

but Georgia Southern left.

You know,

Appalachian State left.

And so there were teams that were in that league that are now in the FBS,

and that's not all of them.

And so that league is diminished somewhat,

but there's still one of the top four conferences in the FCS

with Missouri Valley and the big sky,

and then the club, not the colonial.

I'm not going to say colonial,

close to left, but I guess that's the issue.

Another thing that Sully's college football page.com does as well

is to basically give the group of five their own spotlights

in terms of rankings.

And Sully's been one of the proponents for a long time now.

They had their own their own little tournament at the end of the season.

But looking at your rankings in the group of five,

well, in groups of three to start off here.

You got number 10, James Madison from the Sunbelt Conference.

You have Texas State as well from the Sunbelt,

and then Tulane from the American.

And again, Tulane a little bit of change

because Willie Fritz is heading off to Houston.

But when you look at those three schools.

Yeah, well, Tulane, Willie did great work there.

And people up north don't know about Tulane.

But Tulane was one of the original members

of the Southeastern Conference highly regarded down there

in terms of their football traditions.

And they've kind of gone a little direction of an SMU

where they're kind of forgotten about.

But when you delve into them,

you find out that this has a historically powerful influence

in Southern football.

You got Air Force at number seven.

Again, early on last year,

they were one of the big surprises.

I don't know, surprises.

But one of the stories where they thought

maybe they would put a monkey wrench into the potential playoff

if they ran the table.

But then they kind of fell by the wayside late.

Texas and Antonio, number six.

And South Florida with all those Florida athletes

coming in at number five.

Yeah, South Florida is back with a fierce war.

Look for this team to make some racket this year

in this division.

I would say to you, they are now on par with Central Florida.

There was a time when they were a little better than them.

And then Central Florida got, you know,

it's a very large school.

Central Florida is the largest undergraduate institution

in the United States, bigger than Arizona schools.

And so they were able to get into the power five side of things

and kind of left South Florida in the dust.

But not anymore.

South Florida has changed coaches.

The guy named Goulish is on there.

And he is doing really good work.

And so look for them to make some noise.

Air Force eight no last year.

Army beat him 23 to three.

And then they just kind of, they lost three more games,

finished dating for it.

And then they have at number four, Appalachian State.

They are always, you know, whatever level they're playing at,

they are always very much a factor.

Number three, Liberty.

Again, they had a fantastic year season ago.

And Boise State number two, what about those three teams?

Yeah, well, you know, a lot of people like Boise this year.

In fact, in most, in most publications,

because when we do this initially,

you know, I don't know if you know this, Joe,

but we never look at what feels steel or what,

offline, Lindy's, we don't pay the slightest bit of attention.

But they look at you though.

I'm pretty sure they do, you know,

because our hits on the site go up, yeah.

But anyway, you know, Liberty had a great year, undefeated.

And then of course, they decided to go play Oregon

and then Bo and Oregon was pronounced that they were gone

because their backs were gone every time you turned around.

But those three teams in Appalachian State,

you cannot say Appalachian State

when I'm thinking of that Michigan game.

And then number one is Memphis,

according to Southeast College football page.

Well, you know, nobody, and I mean nobody,

was with us on this one until I heard,

McElroy.

You have Greg McElroy?

Greg McElroy, the quarterback,

the old quarterback from Alabama,

I want to know I am now a Greg McElroy fan,

because he is the first guy that also said,

he thought Memphis would be the representative

for the group of five in the New Year's six ball.

And also a central Wisconsin connection.

Hey, you know, I did not know this.

I want to be clear,

because I probably would have been influenced by this.

But Spence Lewinsky, our local guy here,

Spence, was at Illinois State,

played for a national championship there,

then he moved on to Miami, Ohio.

Then he went to Ohio, you know,

with Frank Zolich's kind of legacy there.

And now Spence is the Co-Defensive Coordinator at Memphis.

So he's back in the limelight,

and I think he's going to do great work.

He's also the offensive line coach.

So we'll be following Memphis now

with a little more of an edge.

And now it's time for Joe Nino's group of five top 10.

And time now for the power four.

And the best teams in America,

I think the teams that you in your mind

are competing for one of the 12 spots

in the College Football Playoff

when all is said and done.

But it's not where you are.

You know, I guess it's where you are

when you get towards the end of November into December.

But again, it is the power four.

And we see the power conference is right

from 25 to one.

I mean, it really loaded in these four conferences

and it's going to be incredible battles this year.

Right. And you know, I've been hearing people say,

and Chad, I guess I'm looking for your opinion on this.

I'm hearing people say there are 68 teams in the power four.

I would tell you, there are 70.

You know, because you've got the conferences to 67,

then everybody counts Notre Dame,

you know, because Notre Dame was there

at the beginning when this was being formed.

But then they seem to be just setting Washington state

in Oregon state a drift.

I'm not buying that.

So when we talk about the power four,

we talk about 70 teams that we would rank here.

And so that said,

that's what this is about.

You know, the amount of money that those schools have access

to compared to the group of five,

the group of five will get one team in the top 12.

That is structured.

So that'll happen.

But yet, we're looking at 70 teams in this list.

What's going to be interesting,

if by some chance,

Washington state or Oregon state has some sort of wonderful season

to run through it,

there's been some nastiness between them

and some of those former members of the PAC-12 conference.

I wonder if some of those other PAC-12 conference schools

will say,

we're going to make,

we're going to put the elbows out a little bit.

I think that that's one of the things

that would be interesting to watch.

If we say we get to that announcement of the brackets,

and all of a sudden one of those two schools has,

I think, a legitimate claim to one of those spots

and somehow they get left out.

I just think that there's some nastiness out there

that would be something to keep an eye on

as we get towards that point.

Do it.

Nothing would make me happier if that weren't

to happen because of, you know,

they kind of been, you know, just cut loose.

The reality for them is they would have to be in that large

because, you know, they play each other

and they are playing a number of the former PAC-12,

but yeah, the Mountain West actually embraced them

and said,

hey, we'll play you seven times or eight times

so they actually are playing in that league.

And I've read everything that they eventually will go

into the Mountain West,

or they will bring a select group of Mountain West

into the new PAC twice,

since they've retained something like,

with the biggest, you know,

they still have the naming rights.

I would think that they would want to use that name

at some point somewhere.

I would agree.

All right.

Let's go into it.

Number 25, again, you've talked about one of the intriguing

schools that you're going to keep a very tight eye

on this year at Nebraska.

Right. They got Texas LPAS.

So today we talked about them.

We did the Big Ten.

Maddie Rule, I think, is a great coach.

They, and we've yelled about them forever, Ted.

They were the best recruiting program

in the West Division,

and yet they have been in a bowl since 2016.

Number 24, Arizona.

Again, they have such a fantastic year,

but then got a little annoyed when they lost

their coach to Washington, Jeff Fish.

Yeah, Jeff Fish is gone.

Arizona won 10 games a year ago.

I don't know what this will mean for them.

A guy by the name of Brent Brennan,

the coach who was at San Jose State,

who's had a lot of success there,

has taken that job.

Not really a fan favorite.

They wanted a bigger name,

but this guy is really good coach

and did great work at San Jose.

Number 23, Miami.

And again, I think when they brought in Mario Cristobal

to come to Miami,

they were expecting a little more by this point.

Well, they brought in Cam Ward,

really a great quarterback,

so it's going to be interesting to see how he does.

And I have to tell you that

Miami fans would not be happy

with Southeast college football page

having Miami just slow.

But I'm going to go,

I'm going to go with Missouri.

You got to show me, man.

I want to see something out of you

because like Texas,

it's always gathered back.

Well, maybe not.

All right.

22 Wisconsin.

Is that some home state bias right there?

Absolutely not.

I was not overwhelmed by the play last night,

but I'm still high on them.

I do a couple things with the defensive line.

Their back seven can run.

They're going to be effective players in their league.

And then, you know,

we just got to get better

offensively and start stretching the field.

I think vertically doing a great job horizontally.

I mean, they're hitting the flats

and they're hitting the hooks.

They're spreading them out,

they just haven't gone over the top yet.

Number 21 Kansas State.

They're always there, aren't they?

You know, they, they,

that's Cliff Cleaman or climate.

They, they're a team

that recruits heavily out of junior college.

And this is a team

that does things right.

They don't worry about right things.

They play their position first

and every year they are in it.

In fact, a couple years ago,

people think when, when Texas Christian got to the place,

they didn't win the league.

Kansas State then.

Yeah.

And so this is a program that

not overwhelms you with talent,

but man, they are mentally focused

and they are highly skilled.

Number 20, 20 for Florida.

They were, they had a losing record last year.

What is Sully thinking?

I'm thinking that Florida has the talent.

It's building appears third year.

I think Graham Mertz is one of the best quarterbacks

in a quarterback heavy STC this year.

The Southeastern Conference is loaded at quarterback

and in part because of who Graham is.

I think that they're going to win this game today

and I think in two weeks,

they're going to beat A&M

and they're going to start their season

at that three and oh four and oh mark

and then look for them to do some damage

because their schedule is the most difficult

in the country this year.

Number 19, USC and again,

it's been a rough go of it for Lincoln Riley.

When he came there, I think there were the expectations.

He would bring back the glory of the Pete Carroll days

and it's not been up to this point.

But as we've talked about quite a bit so far,

they got a great opportunity to start off

2024 it a big way.

Well, you know, in a way you're excited for him

that he went out and got these receivers.

But in another vein,

you're thinking, what's wrong with you, man?

You keep doing the same thing.

Go get some defenders.

Get better in the front seven.

I'm really looking forward to this UCLA-SC game.

These teams have played only two.

What did I say?

UCLA.

Oh no, forget that, man.

Sorry, that's right.

Let's stay up for that.

This game, I am really looking forward to it.

He's playing SC again from his Notre Dame days.

He's playing SC again.

One of the most amazing numbers I think this week,

not 18 for Oklahoma State.

It's that they're facing South Dakota State,

Missouri Valley Football Conference, correct?

Yes.

And a team that is, you know, from the BCS,

at the right teams home field,

and the spread is single digits.

That's really, that's a lot for South Dakota State, doesn't it?

Yeah.

Oklahoma State, what about them?

Well, first of all, South Dakota State,

the kid named Brad Kowski.

This is his 39th year at time.

Well, I'm exaggerating some of it.

But I believe this is his seventh year.

He's had a red shirt year, a medical year, and a COVID year.

And now he's in his fourth regular year.

This kid is a flat-out player.

So the chances of him even being remotely intimidated

by this environment are not existent.

And they've got other players.

So this game is a game that I would highly recommend.

You take some time to watch.

The other thing about it is that Oklahoma State

is a bad team for them to play for South Dakota.

Because they will, they're a little more athletic.

And they kind of tie in or align with Gundies thinking.

Number 17 is Utah.

Instead of the running, you can call them the traveling.

They went from the mountain west to the pack 12 and all the big 12.

And they want to be in the big 10.

There's no question they've made, no bones about that.

This is an AAU School Association of American University.

They do a lot of research.

And that's where the money is in college.

It's not in athletics, it's in research.

But anyway, you're right about them.

I've got them ranked as the highest big 12 team in the country.

And I'm going to win the league this year.

And that, the big 12, in my opinion,

Chad is the most competitive league in the power for.

Texas A&M, number 16.

Again, every year, Texas A&M starts pretty high in the rankings.

And every year, they tend to take a dip

before all of a sudden done.

Why will it be different this year?

Two words, Mike and Elko.

You know, Jimbo Fisher, you and I have talked about him.

Love the guy as a recruiter.

He's got a good rep as a quarterback coach.

And yet, on the game day, I've seen Jimbo do some things

that are somewhat mystifying.

Mike Elko, you will not see that.

This is a no-nonsense guy.

And he's going to, you know, he's going to demand these kind of high

fluten five stars that many of them are still there to toe the line

and play the directions that they're given first.

Oak the Homa, they started with a huge win over Temple last night

and they're number 15.

Yeah, you know, the Temple is a program that's been kind of a drift

for a while in the American now.

And they really presented no real challenge to the two OU last thing.

14th is Clemson.

We talked a little bit about the dabble Sweeney doing things his way

and got him at number 14.

Yeah, this kick off, I believe, is 11 o'clock.

So we're going right up here in about 15.

A really good team.

And we've talked about them in the transfer portal.

Last time these teams played 10 to three was the score.

No offense from Touchdowns, the defense is dominated.

Be a scene to see what happens.

Tennessee, you talk about Orange Clemson.

He got Orange Tennessee.

And they've done a really nice job of reestablishing themselves

as an SEC power.

Yeah, you know, I think that Joshua,

a second finalist in the Iceman a few years ago.

More than a few years ago.

Yeah, a number of years ago.

Time flies.

For Oklahoma.

But anyway, down a real good job there.

Tennessee, you know, they're going to have 100 plus thousand

at their home games.

They had drifted into the 90s,

but not anymore, Chad, they're on their way back

and are going to make some noise in the South Eastern.

LSU, we talked about their big matchup with the USC,

but LSU number 12.

And even though you have a number 12,

you don't think they're going to win.

I do not.

I think that this game is at a neutral site.

And I think as see, you know,

both teams have lost high-powered quarterbacks.

Probably the two best quarterbacks in college football

have vacated with Daniels and Williams.

I just think that as see has a little better on the offensive side.

And the over on this, I saw was like 67

to give you an example of the AM Notre Dame game is 44.

And number 11 Florida state, though,

was this ranking your preseason rankings?

Yes.

You know, we didn't do anything.

There were only four games last week, right?

Yeah.

And we didn't do anything in week zero.

We thought before we realized.

But they were the big loser last week.

24, 21 against Georgia Tech.

How surprised were you with that?

Shocked.

More shocked and surprised.

I really thought that they would go out and just take care of business against Texas Tech

or excuse me against Georgia Tech.

But not the case, man.

You got to give Georgia.

Uh-huh.

That's in Atlanta school.

Once Paul Johnson and the triple option went away,

they are now able to recruit better athleticism

because people just didn't want to play in that triple option down there.

But now they're getting better athletes, and I'll tell you it showed.

And I would say that I was not disappointed to see Florida state after all.

They're whining from last season, lose their first game.

So, yeah, you know what I mean?

Sometimes it comes back to bite you.

And I thought Georgia had the bigger complaint.

Exactly.

And Florida state a year ago.

And now the top 10, and I was just saying,

looking at the top 10, it's not the power for it's the power too.

It really is, you know.

And we did this without really thinking about the result

when you stepped back and looked of the 10 teams,

nine of them are from the Southeastern 5,

four from the big 10, and then of course the Irish come rolling in at 7.

So it really is the power too plus the Irish.

Number 10 Michigan, again, with all that they lost,

I kind of think maybe that's a little overranking.

Why would I be wrong if I said that Michigan may be overranked

and getting a little bit of a pass based on previous performance,

even though a lot of those guys are gone.

Even though I was a major part of the ranking, I don't think you're wrong.

You know, there is so much about them that's unknown.

What you do know is this is a very good recruiting program,

they're active in the portal, so they can pluck and play,

and you know, they've got guys coming in.

The quarterback, you know, these are things you've got to see.

But overall, I think to start, they're where they should be for now,

but I have to tell you, if you ask me,

so do you think they're going up or down?

I would say to you, I think they're more likely to go down than up.

Number 9 is Penn State.

I think that when you look at the last handful of years,

no team that's been spending as much time in the top 10 has played,

if you were really big games in Penn State,

because they're never there at the end.

I mean, they're always there in the top 10,

but they're never able to quite get good enough to be in the top four.

Now it changes, obviously, with the new playoff,

but boy, they're always in the top 10,

but they really, we've never seen them have that huge game,

because they're done with Michigan and Ohio State,

usually by midway through the year,

and they don't get to the big 10 championship game.

They do not, you know what I mean?

I remember they were there once against the Badgers,

and the Badgers were routing them,

and then they came back and ended up winning the game.

But you're right, when they get in the big games,

they tend to falter.

They just do.

And so this is their year.

They've got a quarterback, who's got, you know, by all.

And everything you read, he is a five star.

He should be a big time player with Alan,

and the other running back,

they, they are single-toned, they are loaded there.

Receiver is kind of pedestrian,

but when I say pedestrian, four stars,

they don't have a really go-to guy,

and their defense is elite.

So what are we missing here, Chad?

They, they should be able this year, finally,

to get into the playoffs.

Number eight, SEC is Missouri,

and again, Missouri, boy, what a wonderful story,

because everybody thought they'd be a doormat in the SEC,

but in football, and they are right there.

Number eight in the country.

Yeah, drink with, say that.

He like, drink with, says that a really good job here.

And yet, he always seems to be saying things

that you're like, you know, it's a what moment,

you know, like, what?

This week, he said that if for them to be elite,

their fan base had to be elite,

and that means they had to sell out to stadium

when they were playing Murray State.

You know, at some point, people that are thinking,

well, why don't you place somebody

a little more on our level?

But anyway, really good programming,

and impressive win at the end of the season

as you're beating Ohio State.

Notre Dame, number seven, obviously,

a big test against A&M,

but seventh in the country for the Irish.

This is the best roster Notre Dame has had,

in my opinion, since the early 90s.

They've got all American talent

at every level on defense,

whether you're talking about, you know,

the D line, the linebackers,

the secondary, they're one area

where they don't have a lot of experience,

is the old line.

But people seem to be equating that to talent.

They have talent that's just not experienced.

So I think this Notre Dame team

is the best team we've seen from the Irish

for a long while.

Number six is Alabama,

a little bit lower than we've seen them

in a number of years,

but the tight at number six with the new era.

Yeah, you know, and they lost some guys

in the portal.

They lost St. Nick.

And so it's kind of a wait and see.

Calendar boy has a great track record.

He's an excellent coach.

The expectations there are somewhat bizarre.

I mean, when you're talking nine and three

as a failure,

you know you better, you better bring it.

And they've got,

they've got a challenging schedule

as well and it's out there.

Number five Ole Miss with Lane Kippen.

Yeah, you know,

a guy Jackson Dirt.

He throws Dirt.
