He tried to work the equipment, set up the whole station and you know, Debo did show up to help me out. But yeah, I'm here. I'll be by myself. It's quiet. There's no Clark kid. Who you with? Although Clark did go to the dentist yesterday, had major dinner work. So we knew Clark was going to be in my aid.
today. And then I ain't even going to talk about Jermaine. I'm not going to talk about him. Y'all just let your imagination run wild. I ain't making no excuses for these joyful people after the celebration. What did I tell him yesterday? What did I tell him? Or game four? What did I tell him? The Brewers got a job.
Did I say that? De Bruyne's got a job. Well, everybody else celebrated all hard. He can't get up and go to work in the next day. De Bruyne's got a job. Yeah, I ain't too sure about the mother. I'm running cameras. You see me walking back and forth. I'm trying to keep the Facebook and YouTube folks satisfied.
traditional radio transistor, you know, you know, it's a lot. It's a lot right here. But you managed to be here this morning. That's right. Did you did you celebrate last night? I had a man.
Where did you where'd you watch the last night and my favorite water and whole cheers? We got it erupted there. Oh, please. Was it crazy? Yes. Yes. Yes. I was at home. I ironically I was doing work all through the game. And LaKeisha finally sat out and she's like, oh, so much that they can't hear. On what? Tell me on what, Deon, you can't hear wrong.
I just brought it up. Yeah, they said they can't hear. Initially it wasn't, but it should be okay now. All right. All right. So hopefully everything is straight. But yeah, kitchen finally sat down in front of the TV and she was like, look, she's sick. And she's like, look, I got this. If this get what happened tonight, I got to watch the last of this so I could see it happen. And I was upstairs on my computer and I heard her yelling. We the world series champions. She was screaming.
Okay. So, she was screaming last night. So, let me just say good morning, Milwaukee. Good morning, Wisconsin. Brewer's fans. I hope some of y'all got some sleep last night. Many of y'all probably didn't. Trying to make it into work this morning. There's a whole bunch of jobs. The seats are swiveling around.
Supervisors on indeed looking for candidates. Look, do they still do temporary services? Yep. Well, even temporary agencies don't have nobody coming through this morning. We have a major celebration on our hands family for generations. Milwaukee. I can't wait for the parade. Oh, tomorrow. That's tomorrow. I already got the info. I pulled it up.
The parade is going to happen tomorrow. Downtown Milwaukee. Let me see if I got. Michelle, the last time this took place in this city, I mean, we gave them a championship parade. Even though sophomore in high school. Really? The Cardinals took us out. Yeah. I remember Cardinals because I went to South witches.
South Division Cardinals. OK, OK. So ironically, again, I, you know, sophomore in high school, I was up and down Wisconsin Avenue with this parade thing. And they lost. Imagine that they've actually brought it home. And I mean, people were so proud, though. Yeah, even because they fought hard to get there to get there. They fought. They fought. Yeah. Yeah. But, you know, that was the Raleigh Fingers, Cecil Cooper, you know, I'm no big baseball fan.
But but I'd know the game. Right. And once they jumped up and got that one run and the Mizz, that boy is sensational. He is nothing to play with. Look, I have never seen a game where he stopped pitching and said, Now, y'all come and feel this in. Y'all need to put some more dirt out here. Well, I mean, but like it happened. It happened.
yesterday and the day before I didn't see they had to come out and repack them out. His movements. He shifts a lot of them. But no, that that wasn't the first time last night. It happened in other games. And I probably didn't see that. Just from both teams did. I had the camera with you.
But yeah pictures from both teams did it but that was one of the first times I really paid attention to them coming out packing that you know that that dirt down and We was you know, and then we saw silly because we was like, you know, you saw all kind of gear out there new balanced Adidas Nike did y'all see the Jordan jump man on my man on the catchers plate I didn't they had all of that and we was just like just talking about
The way all of this was coming together how you still get to be an individual but yet as a team sport and The fans went crazy to be in Tampa when this jumps off the mayor of Tampa and Chevy had a bit So all I got to be bad. I gotta go back I know the mayor I saw and I was gonna play it I never did play it the back and forth between Chevy and the mayor and Tampa
Who is fine, by the way? Let me say that. He was sitting on Harley Davidson and he was talking about, yeah, you know, I'm on the Harley, but of course, Milwaukee connection and he was going to ride through. I don't know if they said he was going to ride through downtown Tampa with Brewer's gear on. You know, they had to trade cases in this and this and that. I'll tell you who else. The fire chiefs. I know Lipscomb had some kind of bet with the fire chief in Tampa, but I never knew what his.
what he countered them with because that was he submitted his. But yeah, just just just a great time to live in Milwaukee right now. It is incredible. So yeah, so Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Mayor Ken Welch placed a wager. And let me see because yeah, he got to pay you up too. Oh, you know what? I think I got the commercial because when I saw it, I was cracking up. But you know, I was like,
Yeah, I need to I need to be on Chevy's PR team because the mayor of down to St. Petersburg, he was looking off fly out on his jeans and a little t-shirt. He buff had his shades on sitting on the Harley when they had Chevy on a boat with a life vest. So that's the most uncool. Not on the boat. Yeah. I mean, it was ridiculous. You're on a boat with the boat and season is over. Yeah. Neon Green.
Life is so lucky about that. And that's your friend. It doesn't matter. Your friends tell you the truth. I am so glad. Your friends tell you the truth. When you get a chance, come over here and look at this. OK, OK. Hang on. Hang on. Let me let me let me. Can you bring this up so I can play it? Sure. Because yeah, when I saw it, but the visual is hilarious because the mayor from St. Petersburg just fly to death. I mean, his brother is fly. Chevy up here looking like he.
on a school field trip. Hold out. You gonna be bad. Hold on. Hold on. You ready? Yes. Nice to meet you, Mayor. Well, this is my 2022 Road King Special. And powering this motorcycle is a Milwaukee 8 engine. That's right. Milwaukee is powering my ride. Looks like you're already a Milwaukee fan. Good engine, great bike, great city. But this week, the rays are better. Apparently, we're already borrowing each other's rides.
Nice boat. You know, you'd fit right in down here. We've got beaches, too. Well, we should compare notes after we compare trophies. Think a little ahead of yourself, aren't you? For the first time, one of our teams is going to bring home a World Series Championship. Two cities ready for a moment we'll never forget. Two mayors ready to make it interesting. The baseball series, the rivalry is friendly. The bragging rights, those are forever. So what are you putting on the line?
Well, if the Brewers win, I'll ride this Harley through St. Pete and Tampa Bay wearing a Brewers jersey. Milwaukee engine, Milwaukee jersey. Sounds like a winning combination to me. But when the Rays win, you're putting on a Rays jersey in Milwaukee and you're wearing it proudly. If the Rays win, I'll wear your team's jersey along a river walking downtown Milwaukee and we'll light up the home bridge in your team's colors. Now, I like the sound of that. I had a feeling you might.
So we're bringing some m hometown product swap. You from Harley Davidson, from Johnsonville. And we' a box of sunshine city su for you. Although I'm get on this Harlem. Let's t terms. But here's where we're challenging our cities to enthusiasm into something g this moment can mean more
Here in St. Petersburg, we're supporting our community partner, the St. Pete Free Clinic. They help thousands of our neighbors access food and health care, and they work with other local agencies to make that support reach even further. Here at Milwaukee, 2026 is the year of housing. We're asking you to help support United Way to support six homeless shelters right here in the city. Let's make a difference together.
visit saintpete.org slash give and click on Mayor's Challenge to donate. You can also drop off items from the free clinic's wish list at one of 25 city facilities. Get $20 or more to the United Way, enter the sweepstakes, and you'll have the opportunity to engage with this great brewers package. Next season, you could attend a game with four tickets. You could also have an opportunity to get a parking pass, get brewers merchandise, and throw out the first pitch of the game at American Family Field.
Now we've been through some tough times in St. Pete, but just like Tropicana Field, we know a thing or two about a comeback. We're resilient, we're strong, and this is our chance to show what the Sunshine City is made of. And Milwaukee, let's show everybody how we show up for our neighbors. One of our teams is going to make history on the field. But together, we can make a difference off the field. We're happy to share the spotlight. The trophy is another story. Small markets.
Big stakes. You're on. Go Brewers. Go Raider. So yeah, so I had meant to play that leading up, you know, going through the whole thing. And in the midst of everything, just, you know, forgot to do it. But yeah, I know it was supposed to be like a little play on cities. So we're supposed to be on the boat. But I'm like Chevy, be on the boat with some Shazel kickback, you know.
A bottle of apple juice or something. It was his life jacket. Come on, man. He was scared. Safety first. Boat ain't left to dock. Safety first. Come on, sonny. I mean, this don't sit down. He got on his devil's jersey. You know, he got his cap on, turn to the back, you know, shades. I'm just looking the part.
Chevy have been looking like you have a school field trip. I'm like, come on, dog. I'm like, let me be the one that helps stage the times when you're supposed to be cool. Because these people around you, they ain't doing you no justice. They ain't doing you no justice whatsoever. We could have had you laid out on that boat with a little.
Champagne sitting there, you know, we could have had you laid out bro on a luxury liner not look like the way we But but but at the end of the day, so we go get the last mile
because he will get to be downtown with the brewers tomorrow as we are celebrating. I know these cats can't wait to get back in the city. It is going to be nothing short of amazing. The celebration is starting at 10 am. The parade tomorrow is downtown starts at 10 am.
There will be exclusive merchandise that's going to be out there and available for folks to be able to purchase. You know, everybody, like people was online, Keisha was online ordering last night. You know, folks was going crazy, making sure they had what they needed to be able to rep their city today. And today I walked out of the house and wasn't even thinking. And my World Series cap is on the table.
Now, this is the one for playoff period, you know, for the series period, not the championship at, of course, but I walked out and when I got here, I was like, you left the hat. You didn't put the right hat on this morning. So I just want to say congratulations to the team. Debo, are we up on our first commercial break?
Alright, so it's a couple of things I want to make sure I do though because I've listened to people, you know, be excited and you know, people want to celebrate but I just need people to have a real appreciation for what it means right now because this has been going on for generations. The Milwaukee baseball fans have dreamed of a moment just like this. Cheering, waiting, suffering through heartbreak, you know, and a lot of folks, they stay true. They continue to believe in this team. Now they finally get to say the Milwaukee Brewers are
World Series champions in this piece. So you just got to let that sink in for a moment. We got to just savor the fact that our Milwaukee Brewers are champions of Major League Baseball. Just just think about that. Best record in the league. Uh and and you know, there were a lot of naysayers, doubters, folks that were saying they always until they get to the to the postseason. They they they.
they fall off. I mean, I like what G did a post G from G's Clippers did a post last night where he talked and I should have pulled it up, but he talked about, you know,
He's gotten to see the Milwaukee Bucks have a championship in his lifetime. It's got to see Green Bay Packers have a championship. Now the Brewers have a championship. And it was one more thing. Oh, he said, I got to see a black president. You know, so she's like, I'm good. You know, life is good. What a time to be alive. And it was so many people that affirm that post, you know, just like, yeah, these things are historic. And this is one of the things I was talking to the reporters from Al Jazeera.
when I was at the event with Kamala Harris recently. And one of the guys from Al Jazeera, he said, so, like, what do you think about Milwaukee? You know, how do you like it or whatever? And I said, well, I'm gonna tell you one of the, and I told him, you know, I've said quite a few things about the city. But I said, but the one thing that has never been lost to me that I appreciate it is that every 15 minutes away from everything when you live in Milwaukee.
You literally 15 minutes away from everything that our rush hour traffic is a whole whopping 18 minutes. If you can stop, you can suffer through 18 minutes. You can typically get past the gridlock and get on wherever you got to go. I said, but that other thing that until you really are here, you don't appreciate. We got a major league. Everything and except for the Packers. It's all right here in town. So basketball.
baseball, hockey, you know, then you've got the college teams that are our sweet 16 teams, you know, big, big league teams. And then you just run on up the way and go to a Green Bay Packer game. I have been to every major league sport just being right here in this city. And then, like I said, except for the run up to Green Bay, how many people get to do that in your hometown?
And you can ride by and see these beautiful arenas and stadiums. Just like when the boys come in town from Memphis for the summer without fail, we going out to Brewer Stadium to have lunch, have dinner. Because I love just sitting in those seating areas where you just can look out over the stadium. And it's the most beautiful thing in the world to me.
you know, so that was one of the things that I said right away. You can just see the guy from Al Jazeera had an appreciation for it because I'm like, how many cities can you say I got access to all of these things? And for the most part, most of them are affordable, you know, but you get to do it. You get to do it. So let me get this call and then we're going to go to break. Hey, Carla, what's happening?
You know what? Are you at work this morning? Are you at work this morning?
But I want to tell you it's a hell of a party going down. Let's go boys. You know what? I wish I would talk to you this morning and I might work and you and you in the streets. Hang up on him, man. Hang up. Hang up on him. I mean, literally. With pleasure. I'm trying to run the board. Somebody got to come and hold me down. You know what? He made it clear if they win. Oh, it's it's a party going on.
That day I didn't know he was gonna hold it over. Yeah. No, but you ain't you ain't you ain't gonna call me a rubbery you ain't gonna call me Actually, actually he did notify me
Earlier in the week, he's got a medical procedure. He's just doing some follow-up stuff. Yeah, I'm gonna be I can respect that. I'm gonna be good with all the others. I'm mad at nobody. All of that is I ain't trying to hear none of that. It just happened to land on. Spare me it. Spare me it. Everybody's medical procedures. Didn't work. I ain't trying to hear none of it. I know I'm here and everybody else is somewhere else. So let me do this. Let me take my first commercial break of the day. Again, I do want to do just a little bit of background now because
There are people that are celebrating. You don't even fully appreciate what you celebrate. You know, I was watching some of the folks when it was going. Oh, and I just want to say. Whoever was running stuff at TMJ for last night need to be fired. We had the TV on TMJ for as they were doing this, you know, the celebratory stuff and they were out.
They were, you know, at different spots at the park over at East Brady, somewhere. We missed the championship trophy award because they were still running their mouth. And the commentator, I mean, one of the reporters, he even said.
They're they're doing the championship, you know, the trophy right now and we were like, are you kidding me? Y'all didn't cut away So when we cut away to we went to another channel, I think we went to Fox or something That's what we finally got to see the MVP trophy being awarded. But literally the money shot We didn't even see it. We had to watch it later on, you know on a replay. We didn't even see it. So TMJ for
I don't know what was going on over there. Don't advocate for nobody's dismissal. I'm sorry, I said what now? Don't advocate for nobody's dismissal. You know, people listen to you. I'm not. I'm not advocating. Remember that strange box we just had the other day? Don't start that stuff again. I want to be clear. We talked about this. I'm not advocating.
You said they need to be fired, is what you said. If that ain't advocating, I don't know what that is. I'm demanding. The biggest night in Brewer's history. And I didn't see it messing with y'all. Yeah, nah. No, somebody need to be let go. Heads need to roll. Get them moving. No, no, no. I missed it. And I was like, are you?
I mean, because as soon as he said it, I was like, well, then why are we looking at you? Right. We're seeing it. He should hurry up and turn the channel and they was doing the MVP award. Wow. It was it was it was sad. But all right. Let me go to commercial break when we come back. I'm good. I don't have to go. You look at all. Be a wielder. I am bewildered. I'm doing two people's job this morning. So am I going to break for that? Yes, we can go. We can go. All right. You should have been gone nine minutes ago. I was I was asking you.
Oh, no, you want to talk to me. He looks like he's still celebrating, too. I'm just going to tell y'all. He here. It's been one, but I ain't here. Your mind is on the other side of time. You're messing me around. That's it. Come on now. All right, so we'll be right back. Hi, I'm Denise, and this is your Civic Minute. Every gallon of gas you buy is already 10% ethanol, alcohol made from corn. You've been burning corn in your car for years. Here's what you may not know.
A third of the entire US corn crop goes into make Keith Paris is listening. He hit me up. He said they couldn't broadcast the ceremony because Fox had the broadcast rights. So I'm I'm I'm going to but you don't always be right about everything. I know Fox had the broadcast rights, but OK, I'm I'm not going. I'm not going to clown. I will rescind my and I apologize. I will send my request.
for heads to roll. Somebody said, while we're celebrating the brewers, don't miss this. It almost didn't happen here, but for David Crawley. What do you do? He. What do you do? He fought to keep the brewers here. He fought. Yeah, because they were, you know, they were going to move.
and County Stadium and all of that whole piece. Yeah, he fought to keep him here though. So I'm just gonna do this, you know. He found some money. I'm going to do this. I'm going to do this. So first of all, let me help people understand what that means because I think you have to say stuff and put it in context. So he helped.
keep the brewers in Wisconsin by negotiating a bipartisan stadium funding agreement in 2023 that extended the team's lease at American Family Field through 2050. So as a part of that, protected local taxpayers, Crowley initially opposed proposals that placed a heavy financial burden on Milwaukee County residents. He signed the county board resolution in June 23.
rejecting the use of local tax levy dollars for long term stadium fixes. Working alongside Governor Evers, state legislators and local officials, Crowley helped shape a compromise that shifted the largest share of public investment to the state, while significantly lowering Milwaukee counties required.
require contribution and then supporters and labor leaders credit Crowley with bridging gaps between Democrats and Republicans who struggle to agree on the financing package. In other words, he know how to work across the aisle. Well, and he's demonstrated that before. So the resulting legislation, which was which was Wisconsin Act 40 divided the public and private financial commitments to secure the team's future. State of Wisconsin had to pay 36 million and some change. Milwaukee County.
uh, 67 million via local sales tax adjustment city of Milwaukee, nearly 7 million and the Milwaukee brewers organization, 100 million plus responsibility for cost overruns. So, you know, when we say that, um,
We got to be able to help the community understand what all of that looks like, because there will be people that will be like, he did what? And how did that work? So, you know, thank you to the listener who highlighted that. And let's make sure that if somebody asked us, we can run it down how this worked out. And, you know, Debo was putting it together.
before I started going through the technical aspects of it. Let me do this real quick, and then I got to take another break. Y'all know that we are doing election season, so these breaks are coming quick and fast. The parade, the parade route, it is going to start at the intersection of North 4th Street and Wisconsin Avenue. It is going to head east on Wisconsin Avenue, turn north on North Jefferson Street, turn east on East Mason, south on North Jackson Street,
turn east on Chicago Street and the rally will end at the Summerfest grounds. Okay? The Summerfest grounds are going to open at 8am. Free general admission until capacity is reached. Rally speeches are going to happen down there. A special program will be held at American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Public ticket sales for the Amphitheater seating start Thursday.
today at 2 p.m. with net proceeds benefiting the Brewers Foundation, Community Foundation. There will be shuttles and parking. Free parking is available at American Family Field with dedicated $5 shuttle buses running to the festival grounds starting at 7 a.m. So you can park at Miller Park and then
Um, or American family field, you know, this will always be Miller Park to so many people. And then you can take a $5 shuttle down to the summer fest grounds. If you're not going to be on the parade route and you'll be able to participate in everything that's going on down there and then get the shuttle back to Amphill field where, you know.
stuff will be going on there. And they said street closures and traffic delays are expected to begin around 7am and along the parade route. So if you go to work downtown and you are going to be hitting any of those streets I talked about, Wisconsin, Jefferson, Mason, Jackson, Chicago, all the way down to the Summer Festival grounds, plan accordingly because you're not going to be able to get through in your traditional route.
and your your traditional fashion. Because if you're dumb, Michelle, I'm going to have a case for you to be fine. I look. But, you know, when I get corrected, I'll be the first one saying, please, you know, reinstate them. So let me take a break. But that is the route. I'll mention it one more time. Somebody asked me to mention it again. So I'll do it when we come back. Be right back, y'all. Hi, I'm Devon Anderson, campaign and membership director for the African American Rock Table.
I'm asking you to support our Feed the Change campaign because we all deserve to eat with dignity and choice. We're asking you to join us by raising your voice to let the Mayor and Common Council know that we demand $1 million investment in a healthy food establishment. This is what a lot of folks have said is that there are folks that still don't give it the proper respect that is due.
Velar Phillips Avenue is what 4th Street in that stretch of the community is. So, I would, because it does not, you know, it wasn't named for the whole stretch of 4th Street, but it covers about 5 miles between West Capital Drive and St. Paul. So, yes, it is Velar Phillips Avenue just for the person who hit me up on that. A couple of things I want to say real quick, and I'll mention the parade route information again.
Excuse me. I see I got two text messages asking me to repeat it. You can find it online. Just simply type in the brewers parade route and it will come up. But I had a young person mention this to me yesterday and they asked the question like, was the brewers really called the Seattle pilots? And so just as a quick reminder.
The franchise began in 1969, not in Milwaukee, but in Seattle, Washington, where the team was known as the Seattle Pilots. After just one season, the franchise ran into financial problems, a group led by Milwaukee Businessmen, and here comes that name that we all know, Allen Budd Selick, got the team, and in 1970, the pilots became the Milwaukee Brewers. So you think about that.
So I'll go with that. But but you remember the Braves Braves. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, you know, over the years, you get the names. And I think you say that, you know, you get Robin. Yeah, Paula Molliter, Cecil Cooper, Raleigh Fingers, Hank Aaron, who, you know, number 44 was what I saw yesterday. Say what? I saw Oh, Henry, candy bar yesterday. Where?
14th and center that I got I guess like for sale for sale 99 cents. Are you serious? Yes. Oh, Henry candy bar. So this is crazy. Um, at one point they had Hank Aaron Bobble. He is and Keisha's parents had. So when we were cleaning out their home in Memphis. Perfectly pristine in the package.
I pulled it out just the most beautiful hand-carrying bobblehead thing and you are you know, so you like you see some of this nostalgia you like This is crazy. Um, but an old Henry. Yeah, that's what I'm going back. I'm gonna get a couple cuz yeah, that's why Folks asked me do they still make them? I guess they do that is crazy. That is crazy So
It's a lot of history. We need to understand how they go from that to where we are today. But you can't, you know, and a lot of those players, they paid homage to the men that came before them, whether it be coaches, players, you know, operational staff, that is a family, you can tell. Clark and I were riding and we were headed to the south side.
And for something that we were talking about Miller Park and that whole piece and I said Miller got out the game too soon out of World Series and come there and they name ain't up there no more. It's am fam. But I thought about those gentlemen who lost their lives building it, building it, building that edifice if you will. And they said, I don't know how true it is, but I'm told that the families of those gentlemen were giving tickets to the World Series out there in Florida.
Oh, really? Yeah. Hang on. I'm just pulling it up. And thank you for doing that as well. Because it is easy. Like I said, it is so much that went into that. But there were three iron workers who died on July 14, 1999.
during the construction of Miller Park, now American Family Field, when the big blue crane collapsed. Jeffrey Wisher, Iron Workers Local Eight, William de Grave, Iron Workers Local Eight and Jerome Starr, Iron Workers Local Eight. Yeah, I forgot about that piece. That's crazy. You don't. Yeah, I don't want to leave them out because they're part of this journey. Yeah.
That's crazy. And that would be so cool. If you had the family were remembered and honored in that way to be able to participate. It was a lot of folks from Milwaukee down in Tampa. From Wisconsin down in Tampa. It looked like they were at home. I know and it sounded like they were at home. I'm like, this is madness. So I just want to be clear. I got to take another break.
But let me just repeat this again real quick. And again, going for the rest of the show, you can find this information online. I know we got a caller. Let me get the caller first and then I'll give this information one more time. Hey, caller, what's happening? All right. So again, again, again, parade routes. Let me pull it back up. Where did it go? I got it. I got it somewhere.
Okay, back. Okay. Let me get them while I find it. Hey, Caller. What's happening? Good morning. Good morning. First of all, I want you to know that you are one of my heroes. I appreciate that. Thank you. She be a she wrote. Yeah. Anyway, if you want to get old here, we candy bar go to Cracker Barrel. Oh yeah, they do sell me a Cracker Barrel. You are so right. They got all the old schools. You're right. You're right.
and I do have a reserve hang Aaron Bible here. Do you? Yes, ma'am. See, I wanted we got the same one because yep, we found them in Keisha's parents house and you know, I heard yep and snatched them. So that is so cool. I just want to share that with you this morning. Thank you. We appreciate it. We appreciate it. Have a great rest of the day and keep up the good work. Yes, sir. Thank you. Thank you. So once again, and this is funny because now I can't find it. It's somewhere the route.
Look, let's go to commercial. I'll find it. Oh, yeah, I'll find it and bring it all back up. Somebody else wanted to know where they can get gear if they can't make it down to the stadium. You can order everything online. Yeah, but my god, Junebug got him at a good price. Hey, but when I left the radio station yesterday, right down here on Capitol, right there, right out, right down, right. You know, that's bootleg. That's some of your main folks.
Solis. The B might not be on there or the Arbra. Solis. Soli, but they have some gear out there. You know, with the $66 Jordans. All right. I'll be right back, y'all. We count on leaders to protect our freedoms and families. As Attorney General, Josh Call worked to make sure patients and doctors, not politicians, make decisions about reproductive care, including abortion.
You can still go to many of the early voting locations to be able to cast your ballot again asking people if you requested a mail-in ballot and you have not received that yet or you have not
Returned it yet. If you have it in your possession to please take it to a early voting site, a secure drop box, but take it in. Do not do not do not.

If you have already turned in that early, I'm sorry, that mail in ballot, make sure that you are going to my vote.WR.gov and you are checking to see, um, under track my ballot that that ballot has been received by your local clerk's office and that, um, it will be counted. So please, please, please, uh, somebody said, how long is Midtown voting open today?
All right, I have the sheet in front of me. Today is the 28th, 29th. Midtown is open today until 7pm. This is the last day for late voting at an early, I'm sorry, at an in-person location. Midtown is open today from 7pm. And you can go to Syrup Hall, Clinton Rowe Senior Center, Good Hope Library, Marquette.
Alumni Union, Midtown, Mitra Street Parking, I'm sorry, Mitra Street Library, Tippecanoe, UWM, Zalazo Center, Washington Park Senior Center, Zeidler Municipal Building. Some people told me that they had early voted over at Villard, so I need to get an updated list because I didn't have Villard on my list. If you are planning on voting tomorrow and this weekend, you can vote.
but not at all of the early locations. On Saturday and Sunday, you can vote at Syrup Hall, you can vote at Good Hope Library, at Midtown, at Mitchell Street Library, Tippecanoe, and the Zeidler Municipal Building on the sheet that I have right now. Some of the other ones will be closed, UWM, Washington Park Senior Center, Marquette, Clinton Rose, and then these are only staying open to between 2 p.m.
and for 30 PM on Saturday, and all of them are closed by 3 PM on Sunday. So please make your plan to vote. Please then check on other people and make sure that folks are good and that they have what they need.
This is going to be critical. This is going to be critical. Now, let me take a change. I mean, take a second and go back and do some quick updates on some stories that I talked about yesterday. We are still waiting. We are still waiting. We are still waiting for election results in Israel. So let me just pull that up real quick. I had it in front of me.
Benjamin Netanyahu, his contingency is holding the lead, but they're saying that the coalition math remains elusive. They don't have the necessary numbers that they need to completely be in control and be the governing body. So it says that you got to have, I'm just trying to pull it up real quick.
So, they had a number of people that were actually in the race. Netanyahu is a whole bunch of folks, but when they were looking for who could get to 61, which is their magic number, Benjamin Netanyahu had 53 seats on lock. His opponent, that's the closest to him, had 48 seats and they are still counting. It is said that more than 5 million votes have already been counted, but
They're not done. So I think they have counted 93% of the ballots that have come in, but they are still in the process of counting. So a lot is hanging on the balance, the balance that are still eligible, the soldiers balance hospital patients. Look, people that are imprisoned can vote. People that are the balance.
The ballots. Our election workers still have to be able to vote. They have to leave outside the designated polling location. So right now, we are still waiting. Benjamin Netanyahu, they seem like they're trying to project confidence that he's going to get through this whole thing, but we do not know. We absolutely do not know. I got some other information I want to pass along. Hang on one second.
Okay, the updated and let me see. Thank you. I think this one is updated. Yep Okay, if I can get it So it looks like Villard is the only one on here that I did not have
And yet, Villard is a early voting location. Thank you for sending that to me. But Villard is not going to be open on Saturday or Sunday. You can only vote at Villard from now to today and tomorrow. 530 today and closes at 5 p.m. tomorrow. So just so folks know. Yes, thank you so much to.
My people that's listening and move that information forward. Let me do this before I talk about some of these other national news because I want to take a moment to just fall back and give respect and pay homage to. Glorious Malone's fine sausage. Many folks are familiar with the company located right here in the city of Milwaukee. Their CEO.
Daphne Jones has passed away. Daphne Jones, president and CEO of Milwaukee based Glorious Malone Fine Sausage, transitioned on Monday, October 19th. She was 76 and died at home surrounded by her family after an extended illness as a result of heart disease. In a statement released by the family, her daughters, Dasha Kelly, Mazhar, and Timu Jones.
Remember their mother as kind, generous, determined, magical, and loving. Quote is with profound sadness that we announce the transition of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Daphne Jones. Daphne Jones carried forward the legacy her parents began with determination.
heart and an unwavering commitment to growing their business across all 50 states, but her legacy extends far beyond entrepreneurial success. She demonstrated that kindness and generosity cost nothing, yet their impact can multiply a hundredfold. Quote, her team, business partners, neighbors, family and friends will remember her not only as a successful small business owner, but as a woman of integrity who believed in Milwaukee, saw its potential and was committed to making it a better place for everyone.
To experience Daphne's magical, inventive spirit and tenacious determination was to witness a woman who could see possibilities where others saw limitations. She had the heart, creativity, and courage to bring those possibilities to life. Miss Jones took over the business in 2007 following the death of her mother who started the company in 1961 from her kitchen.
and then shifted to a store on North 6th Street and West Hadley Street in Harambe. Now located at 300 West Walnut, Glorious Malone produces about 1500 pounds of head cheese every week, shipping the product throughout the country. Glorious Malone was the first black woman to become
both a state and federally certified meat producer in the late 1970s. She battled city officials in the late 1980s when she wanted to build the company's production facility in Bronzeville. The company opened its plant at the corner of West Walnut and Dr. King Drive in 1993.
Under Daphne Jones' leadership, the company had global ambitions and prospered under a new name. She told the reporter in a 2019 interview that it was a way of honoring her mother and her legacy. I decided to rename it and call it Glorious Malone's Fine Sausage because it had two meanings. It was her name, Glorious, and it was a glorious product, right?
The business was featured in a BMO Harris Bank national marketing campaign about small businesses in 2022. She described the company's product in a Wisconsin PBS story three years ago. Head cheese makes people's minds think of all kinds of things. But if I can present it to you as this is our gourmet pork delicacy, you might be able to say, okay, I might give it a try.
The company will continue into the future as a family-owned and family-led company. Daphne Jones was the oldest child of George and Gloria Smolone. After graduating from Milwaukee Lutheran High School, she earned a bachelor's degree in management and human resources from Park University outside of Kansas City, Missouri. She also completed leadership programs at Cardinal Stritch and Babson College. She married Roger Jones in 1961. They had two daughters, Dasha and Tamu.
She was divorced and in 2022, she married Richard Byer, I think is pronounced, who passed away in 2023. And I just want to say that I had an opportunity to talk to Daphne when she was assuming the helm of the family business. And we talked about.
These businesses these legacy businesses that were built by black folks when you know, you had to fight for every inch for every opportunity when people, you know, a lot of times finance and was close to you. Investment startup capital close to you and you were.
nickel and dominant, personal savings, family and friends, fish fries, you know, whatever you had to do to come up with the money to start these businesses. And as she talked about that location off of Walnut and King Drive and what it meant and the struggle that it took fighting against the city to be able for her mom to do what she did in relationship to putting that building there.
You know, I'm so glad to hear that the family is saying that they are going to keep that legacy alive. Keep it a family-led business. That's one of my biggest frustrations. We don't do succession planning well. And so family businesses, legacy businesses in our community end up falling by the wayside. That helm of the family passes, that one child that's willing to step in and do the role.
But then their children may be unwilling to do it, and we see a lot of this stuff go by the wayside. So there was no way, no way, no way. I was not going to stop and acknowledge the passing of Daphne Jones and say, again, my condolences to my soror, Dasha Kelly, and we will keep you guys lifted up in prayer. If there's going to be a public service, I'll make sure that I pass that information along.
Yes. Bottom of the chat. It's hard to see because it's in gray. Dasha, Kelly, what? The part about where you say Dasha? Someone was asking you the process on the NAACP vote. Oh, the price. OK, I don't see that question. It should be right at the bottom. What I see at the bottom is says Dasha is a local artist, poet, author, and actress. That's all I see right here.
OK, but they want to know about the NAACP. OK, so folks, I just got a question in the chat about the NAACP vote. I just want to tell people that I did announce on the show maybe about a week ago that I was putting my hat in the ring to run for the president of the NAACP chapter here in Milwaukee. If you are a current member.
of the NAACP, you will be eligible to vote in the election, which is happening electronically on November 21st. If I'm not, yep, November 21st. But you had to be a member 30 days prior to the election. So the cutoff to have joined would have been October.
I think 20th, something like that, in order to be able to vote in the upcoming election. But if you have attended the Freedom Fund dinner and you got that ticket and you filled out that ticket stub, you are eligible to vote. We just had a Freedom Fund dinner this October and those people, those tickets should have been processed or are being processed and those people will be eligible to vote.
The current president is Clarence Nicholas. And so just he and I are running for that position. And then I think there's only one other position that is a challenge position, and that is the treasurer position. And I got to get the young sister's name. I can't think of her name who is running for that position.
And so there are only two challenged positions in the whole slate of candidates that are running. I at some point, I'm going to talk about why I wanted to run. But I just will briefly say this. We we are in a time in which we have got to have folks that are.
on the front lines, helping to craft the strategy, leading initiatives and, you know, I just I'm trying to be as respectful as I possibly can. Some youth. I mean, we do need ideas, approaches, different approach because I am a member.
But I've never been to a meeting. Nothing excites me about. And that's what needs to happen. Well, I think that we certainly have got to figure out a way to get people engaged, get people to the table, give them work to do and help people understand the importance of this institution.
why it was, you know, critical in helping move the needle for us, how it is still a vibrant organization that is worthy of membership and engagement, you know, and that we create an environment that's welcoming, that, you know, embraces talent, that people want to be a part of it. There's no reason. There's no reason today, even when people talk about, you know, like, folks don't want to work and folks don't want to do this, there have been
If we look around the city, not just in the city. If you look outside of the city and go to other states, there are pockets and groups of people that are doing the damn thing. They are here working in a bus in a bus. And, you know, a lot of it is about being inspired about seeing people that's working as hard as you work about people that are unafraid about people that, you know, are going to call folks out in a way.
that you understand, you know, people know their power, they know their worth, and they're going to fight for that. And one of the things that I've said is I'm not trying to be disrespectful to anybody that is currently in leadership, but I just believe that we got to do something different to get us to the next level. We got to do something different to get
people back in the room and back to the table. And, you know, I actually had somebody say something to me about my leadership style. And I think the word they use was that, you know, I could be brash and I kind of smiled, you know, when I heard it, because men can do whatever they want to. They can talk however they want to. They say whatever they want to. They can holler at folks. They not describe this brash, but a woman that is direct.
that insist on answers. A woman that does not miss words and does not play, but never disrespectful. I'm never disrespectful to anybody. You do disrespect me. I mean, you know, forget you. But I think about Lena and how she got handled.
because of herd demeanor. And while Lena and I have similar styles on some things, on some things we're not the same. But what we are is direct. And what we are is insistent upon the fact that you're going to respect us. You're going to respect this community. You're going to respect the constituents that we serve. And if you're not going to do that, we're going to have a problem. Period. End story. I say it all time. People treat you how you let them treat you.
But it is just something kind of interesting about when a woman comes to the table like that, you can be described as brash. But you know, Michelle, even in my leadership role here, there have been times when you have pulled me to the side as a devote, you know, you really shouldn't handle it like that. You should do this. And I appreciate and respect your knowledge and your skill as to how you move, you know, those that don't understand it. Who gives a damn?
I mean at this point I have got I've definitely had to get to that point You know because the other thing too, you know people talk about You know what what qualifies you push you in position to do something like that and I'm like My entire career track is is executive leadership. That's what I do, you know, I Know people see me in one light here at the radio station, but I'm executive management. That's what I do and I'm not trying to be funny or messed up, but
Leading in NAACP is not rocket science. These are all transferable skills. If you are an effective leader, effective communicator, effective manager, you can go into a different organization and still be effective. It's this. This is not a secret sauce. And it's not to take anything away from Nichols. No, it's not. It's not at all. Like I said, I just spoke to it early when you were talking about the loans and these generational businesses that have been around forever and the succession plan. Right.
And that youth in and new ideas and innovation and things of that nature that I'm saying the things that you you don't have to say because I know where this is going and It's needed. Yeah, I mean and you know and at some point Like I said and I will say it. It's not like I won't say it But I do believe you know, you got to give a nod to folks that have held things down one of the things that
Mrs. Nicholas, Dr. Pitchford Nicholas frequently talks about is that when they came in, the NAACP was in dire financial straits that they couldn't pay a rent on their office space. And under the leadership of Dr. Nicholas, Pitchford Nicholas and Clarence Nicholas, they've been able to make sure that the doors stay open. They've been able to make sure that when people call for services, you can come in.
My thing is just that it takes more than that, though, to get us and to be in some of the fights that we're up against because we got some hell of fights coming our way. You had offers, but if don't nobody know what offers is that part, you know, we just got some hell of a fight coming our way.
Yeah. And, and, you know, we go and we need we need soldiers. So we need people that are engaged. So. But yes, so that that's the whole thing on that. Thank you for whoever posed that question in the chat. Let me take another break. Michelle, Brian, W. N. O. V. A 60 a. M. 6.5 FM. I'll be right back. Eric Tony's record as district attorney doesn't add up.
His County, Fond du Lac, had the second highest number of violent crimes in decades last year. While Wisconsin had the lowest number since 2011, Tony said he'd have enforced an 1849 law to ban abortion, even for grief or incest. Call District Attorney Eric Tony at 920-929-3048. Shooter.
You always got something to say but your energy change depending who's in your way Black journalists speaking in mind when Trump called you out you still found dinner time he questioned your intelligence put your name Now you're breaking bread like that's all in the past. You say you're with the speak truth. Well, that's your right
TV screen, all up on the TV screen. Talking fast, cutting folks off, making like you speak for the whole team. But black folks paying attention now. We listening differently in 2016. Representation getting watered down while they play political games. And now folks ain't forgetting who opened the door for this mess. Steven A talking loud again. You say you fighting for HBCUs. Well, show us the game.
Because I see that the table don't erase people's pain You don't speak for every black woman or man And criticizing your choices ain't some political plane You can sit with the president, nobody said you can't But don't dismiss the people asking where you stand You got a microphone, use it with care Being loud ain't the same as being fair
I see that the table don't make you the voice of the people. And volume ain't wisdom. You might call yourself a straight shooter. But baby's baby is a real straight shooter. Baby's baby. Baby's baby. Got something to say.
All right, I wanted to play that because not only did the song resonate, a lot of people, you know, have been talking about everything that's been going on with Stephen A Smith. But there is a lyric in the song that I think is just completely apropos for the time that we are in. Black folks, we are listening different in 2026. If you're not doing that, I need you to.
Old schools used to say, you know, watch for the third eye, listen with a third ear. But I never heard that. Which one? Watch with a third eye, listen with a third ear. Really? Yeah. Yeah. It's because it's variations on it. But that, you know, I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist of it. So is that similar to like every I close and sleep and every goodbye and gone? Basically.
basically, you know, but that you like or read between the lines, you know, I'm listening for what you're not saying as well as what you are saying. Consider the source. Come on now. Come on now. And, you know, I am I'm struggling with a lot of stuff because
as people are trying to find a voice to figure out how we defend ourselves against everything that's happening. I was listening to something that Jalen Rose and D-Ball, let me see if I can bring this up real quick. Jalen Rose was speaking the other day. And I want to, let me see if I can, can I get to this? Oh, here we go. I want to play this as well. All right, off one ready.
All right, let's go. Public school in the city of Detroit. Our young people are scholars. They wear blazers. They submit their cell phones. It's not a zoo. And as somebody that went to a public school that was fortunate enough to play in the NBA and have kids to go to private school, I learned the difference. And for me to be able to email 1600 young people right now about their dreams and their goals and their scholarships and what classes are you taking in?
was happening in your life. It just became my life work. Probably if you search my name on X or whatever, they probably tell me to shut up and dribble or call me woke. That's why I idolized Muhammad Ali when I was growing up. Because you have to be courageous because sometimes you could get canceled, you could get blocked.
And I'm willing to take that risk. There are 19,500 cities, villages, and provinces in the United States of America. Detroit is the poorest. It's number one. And our cousin Flint is number two. So I understand what's happening. So when you see me,
And my mentality is stay low, keep firing. That's what I do. I'll probably see me do interviews or see me on podcasts, which I ain't never truly see me outside. That's on purpose because I don't want them to try to block me from helping the young people that I influence because our school is 100% black.
100%. So I wanted to take a second and play this clip. Jaylin Rose, who NBA player at the 2026 Black Enterprise Excel Summit for men, he was given the Impact Award for investing in what he calls his life work. The next generation of young leaders, young, you know,
students and making sure that these young people had educational opportunities, scholarships. But I'm tying this in to the song that I just played about, that was done by Stephen A. Smith in which Jalen said, and remember yesterday I said, I like the new slang outside that phrase. And Jalen said, y'all haven't seen me outside. Because I've been kind of trying to keep my head low so that these people don't start trying to mess with me.
to block me from helping these kids. But he also said at one point in his remarks, but this work is so important. I understand the difference that it can make. And while I know the professional risk to me, I'm willing to take that chance. I'm willing to step out and take the risk.
of people trying to do cancel culture on me because I understand what's at stake for our Children But don't tell me what we can't be That's that's what he that's what he said this the school that I'm supporting 100% black children and they all scholars They they are doing the thing So This this time that we are in is calling for some
a combination of some old school leadership and some new young guns that's willing to step out to be educated on the issues, to understand what's happening around us. I got a piece of mail and I got a caller and I'm coming. But remember how I had been talking about I hadn't seen anything.
from legislators, black legislators in particular, about question three on the ballot, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and how important I thought it was that we should have been talking about this and we should have been going hard on this issue because we knew it was going to be on the ballot. So yesterday, when I went to the mailbox, there was a postcard from State Senator Dora Drake. And it says, Senator Dora Drake's recap on proposed constitutional amendment.
to ban DEI. And she says why I voted no on Assembly Joint Resolution 102. We may not always appreciate what that means, AJR 102, but it is question number three on the ballot when you go vote during this period right now. And she talks about what the ban will do. And she says this ban
This will ban all government entities in Wisconsin from solving issues affecting people based on race, sex, ethnicity, because it will be considered preferential treatment. This means Wisconsin cannot invest to save the lives of black mothers and babies who are five times more likely to die in childbirth. Dora just recently became a new mom. Cannot invest in closing achievement and literacy gaps between white and black students in our public schools. We just had Brenda Cassilius on who talked about, you know,
What 9% proficiency level in some of these subjects for these children cannot invest in black women or among own businesses, job training and other forms of economic economic opportunity, despite wealth disparities that exist. Programs at risk of elimination. They go. She goes on to write women's health block grants hiv prevention grants, domestic abuse, survivor grants.
minority and women-owned business support programs, health disparity reduction grants, alcohol and other drug abuse intervention grants, African-American Family Resource Center, policy priorities that would be at risk, pathways for Black ownership, mandatory Black history curriculum in all K-12 schools, expanding support for minority and women-owned businesses, recruitment and retention of minority teachers and NPS, preventing hair discrimination, that's that whole Crown Act.
funding programs to reduce black maternal and infant mortality rates, funding skill job, trade job trainings for black constituents and women. I got this yesterday. Now I'm gonna do two things. I got praise and I got a smack. I'm glad that it came out. We are now six days away from the election, though. Early voting
Has already started absentee ballots have already been received and in many cases returned So it's a day late and a dollar short moment, but it's still better than having done nothing at all So I need to be able to say thank you for doing something Next time be on time I'm not gonna discount that it's not significant
But be on time and it's still more than I've seen from others. But this is crazy to me. I just got it yesterday. I've already voted. This didn't do me any good if I was an uninformed voter. But somebody still did something. You gotta listen differently.
in 2026 and going forward. You got to do differently in 2026 and going forward. We can't afford to be late to the show. Some folks didn't show up at all. At least she showed up. Some folks didn't show up at all. Let me go to the phone line. Are they still there? Hey, Carla, what's happening? Good morning, Michelle. Good morning. I think that's an excellent idea running for the NAACP.
not discounting our current president who I think has been awesome. And I think when you take over for a person that's been in that position and have all the historical facts and stuff, you don't discount them. You still leave them in the backfield to still pick their brains. But we do need a lot of young blood in it.
We need our young black attorneys which do not see a army of them training young people to do some things. And it's kind because it's too many of our young people that are not involved and we need to get them fired up. And I think it would be great for people to see you in a different light because you may not remember the Dominican Center.
when you came over and you trained our group in civic engagement. I met you then in a professional thing, not as Michelle on the radio station. And I thought you handled this just like any other professional that would come in and do their training. So people need to know there's a myriad of
to your personality. It's just not no one-shot deal. And that expression, you don't know me like that? It's so real because people don't know you in all the arenas that you play in and the hats that you wear. And you can't be anybody else but yourself. So go for it. And I'll be voting for you.
Thank you so much, Carla. I appreciate the call and you know, I just want to say this, this piece too, because this came up in a conversation as well about, you know, people being around and doing work and being engaged with the organization. And, you know, I tried not to be rude. I just let the comment ride. But I've been dealing with the NAACP since 2006 in Milwaukee. When I worked for Lena's office, I was the legislative liaison to the NAACP.
for Senator Taylor's office. I was going to meetings and then over the years, stop going to meetings and, you know, turn my attention towards other things. But I've seen multiple presidents at the NAACP. I didn't just show up two years ago, three years ago and like, oh, I want like it's people sitting around the table at the NAACP that was not there when I was there.
You know, I go back longer than 10 years I go back longer than 15 years with the organization But it's just been in different capacities and different roles So I appreciate what the caller said and I'm gonna just say this real quick I'm gonna just have a whole couch moment which I try not to have But before I get off the air this morning Because when she talked about people not understanding the many hats and facets that you can wear
You know, in terms of who you are as an individual. When I'm on this radio. You get unfiltered, Michelle. I'm going to say it how I want to say it and I'm going to say it in a way that I think resonates. But I move across so many different circles and it is funny to me how there are people.
who try to judge you and think, you know, oh, you speak too common or you, um, you're, you're, you're, you're too, you know, just too gritty to with the people and they're at this level and you're not good enough to do this and you're not good enough to do that. And I have to smile. I have to smile all the time because a I know me.
I know what I bring to a room. I know what my work ethic is. I know how I show up. And I know if I come, it's better than when I left. I already know that. And I feel sorry for people who judge and think that they know and you miss out. I do. I feel sorry for them because I have seen some of the most incredibly talented people come through the city.
Who people push them back and push them away because you're trying to judge who you think somebody is or how they dress and I tell people I could show up in a baseball cap and go to the meeting with the president of the United States and I'll shine half them Negroes and Everybody else sitting around the table because I know what I'm talking about We can't be scared of people that's different or present differently or explain differently or talk differently we can't be afraid of that
because you're going to mess around and you're going to miss good leaders. What did the lady tell you at the remote dog today? I had to fight with them old ladies at the nursing home all the time because they were talking. Michelle thinks she knows everything. She do. She told me. Somebody told me that at the archwell event. She said, I have to fight on your behalf. I've heard it from brothers and people in the community all the time. You got to fight with other people about me. But what you got to be fighting about is style because you can't be fighting about content.
Because I never lie to you. I give you information all the time. You may just not like the delivery every time. But I'm just telling people, we got to do better. We need all hands on deck. And if not for this situation, but for every situation, when folks show up, new and circles, we look at them sideways, we wonder who they are. You don't know where people are being and who they know and what their contributions can be.
But because folks get stuck in their ways or territorial you don't want people to come through I'ma stand on it till the day I die Lena Taylor would have been an amazing mayor for this town She would have been she would have been a beast as a mayor we would have seen some things happen in this town that We may never see because of this girl's imagination that piece about
You're being able to see what other folks can see. Or, you know, to be willing to try things that seem unconventional. And I'm not going, I'm not going to knock Chevy on nothing. But because of whatever, you know, we pass on that. We let somebody try to tell us somebody look more presidential or somebody look more dissonable. Somebody look more that.
But I'm asking you to look at substance and quality. That's all I ask people to do. You know, you you amazed me when you spoke about. Committee assignments and then they they put her on agriculture, you know, which is not like this prestigious. Well, it's definitely not some black girl from Milwaukee supposed to be on it for the state of Wisconsin, the agriculture committee. She turned it around and show us how we could get scholarships and four rides, mind you, flipped it on his head.
Flipped it on his head urban is people raising chickens in their front yards and producing their own eggs right now because of the work this girl was doing you know and
urban ag, we understand what Vincent High School really means to this community. And then I look at LaKeisha, who took it to the next level and had legislators from around the state come visit Milwaukee and they were riding through the district and didn't realize they were still in Milwaukee when they was over by Vincent High School. And you had white legislators like, is this still Milwaukee? And Keisha was like, I live around the corner. Yes, Milwaukee, you in my district. You know, so that's the thing. But the one thing I also know, cream always rides to the top.
always, always. And so for the people that ride with me, thank you. For the people that support my style, my way, thank you. But understanding this. I was a little jealous at the remote. Why? You was over there doing photo ops and all the work they just hugging on you and do around and all you much.
Because you know, everybody get it. Everybody got their crew. Everybody got, you know, because if I go to a chair, you don't know my name. You got to tell them, that's the girl that be on a weekday. Yeah, they rain. But let Chris let me walk through the door or somebody going to push me out the way. Ross Joel got his own. Strangely enough, I never see that kind of fanfare with Keith anywhere.
He said nothing. He hear me. He got their face on. Oh, no, when we were at the, uh, the, uh, the faith event over at our panel. Oh, he was in his element. Oh, really? All the good preachers was around. Oh, yeah. You know, blah, blah, blah. Oh yeah, honey. They was all, they, they was all in the element. And let me mention this real quick before I get off the air. Um, there's going to be a women of faith event for quality with Erica Crawley.
Um, and I'm, look, if you send it to me, I'll mention it on air. Tom Tiffany sent me nothing. So I can't mention it. Um, but this is happening tomorrow. Uh, what time is this? Oh, I was like, don't conflict with the parade. Uh, 5 30 to eight o'clock p.m. Pilgrim rest missionary Baptist church. Um, Hmm. That's interesting. Okay. Okay.
Alright, so family we got a call I can go or I got to take the call Hey, what's happening? Yes Yes But I voted on
Tuesday a week ahead of time. Okay, and I just wanted to know like when I paid a bill online They give me a consummation number and when I left my wife me and my son Yaquiao when we left I had no verification. I put you know The municipal building of a Broadway. I put we all three of us put the envelope in
And but I'm saying so wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, did you drop off your mail in ballot or did you actually vote in person? I wish we're broken off the broad way. Right. And we went in and we voted. You voted in person. And when we left, I'm saying like I put the envelope in and it was very accommodated and a good spirit. However,
when I left I just said I was so apt and minded I said what kind of proof I got that I voted so number one there were people that had to sign off on that ballot they got the number your your voter number all of that stuff is there
So it is a safe and secure process because it should have printed out that ticket. You folded it, you checked it, you saw it, all those votes or your votes, you folded it up. There are people, there are multiple steps because we work out a polling location. There are multiple steps in which people are signing an initialing that they saw your ballot come through. So unfortunately, all you got was the I voted sticker. But the people that are working in that location, they can track from when you step to that table.
And actually, you know, telling you were there to vote to go into that machine to be turned into that worker. So you are. They were very positive spirit. And I was able to have my my ballot and she told me how to fold it in half and put it in the envelope and not put it in the machine. And then I felt so blessed that I had a sister.
You know, you know, everything like me, I'm 72 to, you know, serve me and my wife, but so I'm good, right? Yes, sir. You're good. You are absolutely good. Maybe in the future, my suggestion is maybe we can get something like when I put my bills on my credit card. I need a receipt number.
I didn't even see, is that what you're saying? Yes, I'm like that, because shoo, the way things are going nowadays and, you know, with our president administration, whoa, we need a little more. So maybe you can suggest that we can have something. Okay, so hang on. You can hard copy a little slip or something. I voted or something, this was my voting number. Something that makes us feel a little bit more secure.
because even though I didn't, me and my family did our duty. It would have been nice to have some in hand. I got you. Right, right. I didn't get close to kill when I thought about it. I got you. I got you. But I did, I did our duty. All right. Thank you, sir. I appreciate it. And I love you so much because we worked a long time for people for this right to go. And God bless and thank you so much. Yes, sir. Thank you. So what I will say, and I think that this is correct.
I went to my vote.wr.gov, and I didn't request an absentee ballot, but I put in, I went to the track my ballot tab. On the track my ballot tab, it brought up absentee requests submitted on October 20th. Absentee requests improved on October 20th, preparing the ballot October 20th, ballot sent on October 20th, completed and received on October 20th. That is the receipt that I voted in person.
at the polling location on October 20th. So, sir, go online to myvote.wi.gov. And even though it's going to look like it was done as an absentee ballot, here is my proof because I voted on the first day of early voting. My proof is right here. So, go to myvote.wi.gov, put in your name and information and birthday, track my ballot. And even though it's going to say absentee status because we voted early,
It'll be it's registered. So my vote is showing up. Yours should show up. Give it about seven days for it to be recorded and you should be fine. All right, family, that is the show for today. I'll see some of y'all tomorrow at the parade. Jibo, we got through the morning, bro. Come on now. You know what I'm talking about. Look, we did the thing.
Clark, feel better. Jemaine, I ain't got nothing for you playing. All right, y'all. I'll talk to y'all. Oh, next week. Yeah. Peace. Yes, Thursday. All right, y'all. Peace. This next song is brought to you by the Northwest General Chapel. We weren't able to get them in this morning because they're nobody but me and Michelle. But we want to send this out to all the bereaved families who may be using their services.
