Say Something Real · Mon Sep 28, 2026

You're a live woman. That's what I said. Woman. That's how we start. You're a live woman. Woman. Okay, all right. You're a woman. Well, I'm just going to go ahead and say good morning. This is how we get Hathaloo up in his piece. What's happening? Family, welcome to the show. It is Michelle Bryan here at WNOV, 860 AM, 106.5 FM. You are listening to Say Something Real.

And real talk. Let me say good morning to the folks online, YouTube, Facebook, check him in. I see y'all. Who was the first one to get in? Is this correct? Mr. Walters. Nice to see you, brother. Nice to see you, Al. Happiness, great everything. I like that. Just catch it all in one little fell swoop. Luyola, Miss Luyola, how you doing? Dorothy Jean. Hello, hello. What's going on, TC?

Yeah, okay. So I said, okay, we got things to do. Places to go and we need your voice. No, you didn't. They didn't start off with like, you know what? See, KB nice and black folks. They just get to rushing you. Let's go. Let's go. All right. So let me check in with the bros in the building. And since we got places to go with things to do, we're going to get at it. But Jermaine, why are you up in here in your pajamas?

Steve. Steve. Why you been here with all this bitch Mack Bull? Ain't nobody ever seen me that there's a fight going on on my body. The teacher looking at you when you come through the door like, hmm, somebody just got up. Somebody didn't go to bed last night on time. Why you been here looking rough this morning? Listen, Chell. Mm-mm.

I'm used to this. Ain't no meteorologist. Y'all can't tell y'all can't tell y'all can't tell. I don't think he took a shower with his wife. It's a mess. I'm talking about Adidas and Nike. Oh, and I tell me Will Mix Brains. Right. I had to tell my I tell my I tell my grandson mother that like

Daughter-in-law, we don't mix brains in this family. I hate that. And she was like, what are you talking about? I ain't a nerdy girl. Nike? Adidas? Converse? You know, we don't mix brains. It was so funny. My son was laughing like, you crazy. I'm like, hey.

She got my grandson out here looking crazy. Man, I got Jordan at the top. Laughing at Adidas and Nike. It's a little bit of a whole bunch. Yeah. Even though I appreciate that about Black Fox, but we don't mean brands, y'all. No, no, no. No, no, no. Not real players. No, no, no. Especially from the Himalayas. No, no, no. Himalayas. Y'all city y'all kids at the house this morning. Look down. Look at them.

Because you got them with all kinds of stuff on. Converse t-shirt, you know, Nike shoes. And Adidas socks. Yeah. Those are polo socks. They look like bringing Puma back. No, Puma's rocking. Yeah, so people, yeah, so, you know, Wilmick's brands. My stuff literally was like, ma, he fine. Yeah, don't make a difference. Don't make a difference. Yeah, you got to start a brand because, I mean, for me, I can't stand it.

And even though with my grandson, it's just like, hey, if you're going to put something on.

If you go below the Nike top, find a Nike bottom. Take it all the way down. Take it all the way down. If you don't have a Nike bottom, put on some jeans. Look, this message is just for Debo. Debo will be in here with some Stacey Adams, a commerce jumpsuit on, a Nike headband, and a D&S T-shirt. All right, y'all, you just wrong. All the way around.

I heard what you said, moaning.

Well, you know, you did the most important thing and I appreciated your brush your teeth. That's it. I can smell your mouth. I can smell your toothpaste. I appreciate it. See, listen, you can't walk around. Some of y'all be coming into places not fresh. Listen here, man. I told y'all about short up. People can tell when you're not fresh. Yeah. And your mouth got to be zestfully clean. No. Scrub that thing. That says zestfully clean. No, zest mean you're going to scrub it. Look, I'm going to tell you now, you can brush your teeth too hard. When I went to my dentist,

Dr. Tim Lynn Boyd, she said, when I first became a patient of hers, she said, oh, I see we have an aggressive brush. And I say, what? Evidently, like you can see the stridations on your teeth from how you brush your teeth. And so she could tell, like I said, yeah, man, you got to get all that plaque and make sure she was like, yeah, that's what cleanings are for. Don't brush your teeth so hard, Michelle. But she literally was able to tell

from my teeth that I brushed my teeth too hard. And you could tell them by your gums because your gums will be bleeding like a hole. Why your mouth bleeding?

Alright, so now's you all have had this great breakfast conversation. Let me check in with my brother Clark Kent. Who does look fresh? Hold on, by the way. He was up and on time this morning. By the way, I took a shower last evening when I got in about what time it was. Only all people get to take a shower in the morning, you know, because older people be like, hey.

I'm down to three baths a week now. I don't have to go out every day. I ain't working up no sweat. I'm down to three baths a week. Um, you too. Yeah, you too. Yeah. No, I'm serious. I am. The reason why I'm so serious. I am being serious. The reason why I take it at night time is because since the weather is changing, taking it in the morning, going out, I get whooping cough.

You know what? Someone says you may marry. No. It's a hashtag. Oh, that's it. Happy Desdonas be throwing shade all the time. Oh my God. She said hashtag yuck. Yuck.

Listen, let me give one thing straight here. I'm clean yesterday We'll talk about it because I want to be clear Nike owns Converse that part and it has owned Converse for over 20 years So yeah 2003 I thought yeah, it's been like 20 years

So, you know, it's not just converse is the parent company is Nike. All right. So we go, we go ahead of conversation. I know we kind of brushed up on and moved around. But Clark, did I ever get to who you with? Because you

How was the weekend Clark? Dude we have moved on from you. What you say Clark? It was good. It was good. Did you do anything spectacular? Yeah, you know, uh, uh, chairs had the customer appreciation party. Uh, and, uh, Devo man performed. They did good. Uh, really? Did he have all Stacey Adams in a

Well, you know that you know that was good and then we went to 46th Street and

Was it? Yeah, and watch the band there. Everything was pretty nice. That was a good weekend, man. You didn't grow. Stay in the streets. They stay in the streets. We was out and over here, over here. You making everybody else's lifestyle more? Yeah, we dipped. What did you say? Probably because it is, you know, I mean, you got to get out, get out and do something.

Your time is over. Okay. Let me just say don't don't don't don't do that. Don't feel like tomorrow.

Come on Don't act like your boy don't act like don't act like your people you run with Stacey Adams

No, I said, I said, somebody got to have a certain type of mind. Nobody, nobody got to do that. That's almost something he plugged in because I don't see nothing lit up over here. Yeah, so that's how I can usually tell if I got a call to. So we got to figure out what's going on. All right. So let me just say I had an opportunity to go check out the Fisk Singers and Coathe dance troupe and or dance group. I'm not.

I'm sure the correct way to characterize it. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. First of all, it was cool to see Milwaukee fall through in Jamesville deep. Two buses. There was one sister who took a bus. LaKesha put a bus together because somebody called in and said, could y'all do a bus? And so LaKesha Aquiest did a bus.

It was nice, pleasant ride up there. We was all glad we didn't drive at the end of the day. Oh, man, we just wandered through these little towns. We just wanted to know about the route that the bus driver took because he just. It was like over here. If you look right there, that's the founding of the Klan way to be the family. But it was really, really cool. And.

the venue, beautiful place. Everybody there just nice and inviting. I think her name was Keaton, the young woman that we had interviewed from Milton House. You know, she was very emotional as she talked about going from a staff of one to now a staff of four. And because, you know, people have been prioritizing what they do at the Milton House that they have been able to expand. The Fisk Singers were impeccable.

dressed to the nines. When I tell you the women in the black dresses they had on, Lord have mercy. And I was cracking up because you could tell it's HBCU at old school because all of them had on pantyhose. I was cracking up, all of them had on pantyhose. But when I say they were impeccable, beautiful, beautiful voices, the director, he was phenomenal, engaging.

So I enjoyed that whole thing. Thank you to all of the listeners that went with us to go support, you know, these students and the work that they're doing. It was, it was just really cool. So I appreciated that piece. I had an opportunity to go to Greater New Burr Church yesterday, Delta Sigma Theta, Social Action Committee. We are out doing voter engagement, making sure people are registered.

Also telling them about the three questions on the ballot that are referendums That would literally change our state constitution and I'm just gonna say this okay I Have been to probably six churches now Between what I'm doing with ducks and with data and what I'm doing in other arenas and I'm gonna say just a couple of quick things number one

I really need, and I don't know if Delta initiates this, but if there are any pastors listening or people that's connected to your pastor and you got some degree of influence with your pastor, I really need a pastor's call so that pastors can talk to a membership to help them understand the importance of this election and the referendums, those three questions that are on the ballot, particularly the one

that deals with its and I'm a read them this morning that says non-discrimination but it really is an attack on diversity, equity and inclusion. Y'all congregants don't know. Y'all congregants don't know and I'm worried that some of the pastors don't know. We're gonna have to organize a call because at the very least

These are folks that got a captive audience every Sunday morning. You can get that word out. The other thing, and I met some people over the course of these many churches that I've been through. One brother said to me, hey, I'm 60 years old. I've never voted in my life. Huh? Yep. He said it. He said, I've never voted in my life. I know. I know. There's a there. There's a there. But look before they like that. But wait, no, not just people like that. Your family, because I was telling my brother about it.

And my brother said, I had never voted until I voted for Biden against Trump to keep Trump out of office. I said, wait, hold on. So you telling me you didn't vote in the Obama election? He said, no, at the time I wasn't feeling dude. That was my brother saying that. Like, I literally, if I had been in front of him, me and him would have been fighting.

His whole life all of these but we talk politics every day now Just because you talk about it that don't mean people understand it because I didn't start I didn't start voting into Obama Like that whole vote or died campaign when they had that voter right campaign, right? That's when I jumped off the porch, but it was people that was still on the porch Yeah, you know because they didn't understand and and I'm gonna tell you the what

they would say in the hoods and in barber shops, we had a conversation. Well, it don't affect me and they will say, well, my vote don't count because if my vote falls under the popular vote.

And if they win the popular vote but lose the election But see all of that that's really detailed for people who don't understand vote No, no, no, no because I didn't understand it. I'm just saying I'm saying I started talking about it But now I understand that it's not the popular vote is the electors but people

We don't have that conversation. We have got to we have y'all. I'm telling y'all I had people tell me I don't vote because I trust Jesus. Yeah, I almost passed out. No, I almost passed out. I don't vote because I trust Jesus. So they don't and I mean this was like a older lady like in her almost she looks like she was almost seven. So you tell me when you turn 18 your daddy to make you go vote when you turn 18. No, they don't make us do nothing.

Man, my daddy took me to vote. As soon as I turned 18, he put me in the car. I said, take it away. And that is one thing that has changed because, you know, we are coming off parents who knew what it meant not to be able to vote or to be able to be restricted or to have to take some type of poll.

you know, tax, um, a literacy test, counted jelly beans, recited constitution. We're one generation removed from all of that. Yeah. So when, you know, so voting was a high priority when you turned 18. Yeah. They made sure you were able to go vote. They got you registered. You know, we did it in schools in the South, um, all kinds of stuff. I just think, like I said, the biggest thing for me, and it was so scary is that you got people

And this is what I think I thought was interesting too because a lot of elected officials politicians the church is one of the first places people go I'm saying we got to do more education and I'm gonna say this too and sororities and fraternities You know There's a misnomer out here because people are like what these are the college educated people and they know they don't know either I'm having conversations with people and I'm going you don't know either

And in college's degree or not, you can't explain some of this stuff to people or yet alone, you don't have a grasp of it. And I want to be clear. I'm not judging anybody in terms of, because I know I come and I work in politics. So this is what I spent my life doing. And so I come at it from a different angle. I'm not talking about it like that. I'm talking about it in just a general lay person's thing.

We do need people that are willing to talk about politics and church, that are willing to talk about how people are impacted by policy. And you know, what is the NAACP national slogan? One of them. We're not partisan, but we political as hell, everything. And I'm looking at this lady like I trust Jesus, I don't vote. I'm like, ma'am.

Do you realize even the existence of this building is driven by politics? The fact that y'all are tax exempt is driven by politics. What y'all can do in this church is dictated by policy and politics and laws. It is those IRS codes that say you can't do partisan activities in your church. Like the times that you pay, all of this stuff is dictated to an extent by policy.

And so to know that you got people, y'all just got to do a better job of talking and explaining stuff. And if you don't know, call somebody in that can help you. But we cannot. As I have said, here comes your main. Black people are literally on the ballot this election in terms of this Republican introduced diversity, equity, inclusion attack.

using the friendly name of non-discrimination. We are under attack and I got black folks that's going there and vote to get rid of or to put in the constitution, the state constitution, that you can't do anything any longer at the state level that addresses issues of race, gender, sexual orientation. Go ahead, Jermaine. Two things, yeah. I'm sitting here listening to you.

and um I'm hearing a pastor that's behind your voice. I believe just like you said um that these pastors and I'm sure that it can be done leading up to the midterms that maybe we can get people together in the assembly and

Teach these people You know give them those nuggets because the stuff that you said just a minute ago Like the elderly lady that said I don't know what I trust in Jesus I can guarantee you and bet you everything I have she don't understand and what you just said but at this building here is predicated on the Policies and things like that I can guarantee you she don't understand that because the wood because what they hear every Sunday is

Trust Jesus, he'll make a way, pay your tithes and offer. Go home. So if you're hearing that every week, which has some truth to it, you're not hearing anything else. So your mindset is I'm trusting what I'm leaning on. And that's my faith. And that's fine. But faith without works is dead. So you can have faith all day, but you still gotta put in

So more and I want to be clear too and I don't want it to seem like I'm putting an undue amount of pressure on the church First of all historically understanding know that the church is where we were able to get most things done Right because it was the one place we could actually go and they didn't bother us We can meet and gather under the guise of we hear for religion But also be organized and strategizing and planning so the church had always been a safe place so

Historically, that's one of the reasons why I refer to it. Also, again, some of these churches, you know, you got a captive audience on Sunday, you have the ability to educate, but I'm not going to, you know, diminish the fact that we need to be pulling all these barbers and beauticians together like, hey, y'all, look.

Let me explain this to y'all how these referendums and how these questions are gonna go on the ballot So that y'all when y'all got these brothers and sisters and y'all cheers y'all can tell them hey you planning to vote dah dah dah dah dah You know and because I had thought about it. I said and I'm getting ready to Bring this up at our committee is that you know, let's get these these these cars together So we can get out here and these shops and stuff and be like hey

Can we just leave this information out? Can we post it somewhere? So you talking to your people because I'm telling y'all we already outnumbered the state population for black people is like all minorities put together is like 13% or between 11 and 13%. So we only like 7% of the state population. So we easily can be outvoted on this measure anyway.

But it would be a damn shame if black folks go into that polling booth or sending those mail-in ballots, and you end up marking yes on this referendum question that ends up actually hurting your people. It would be a damn shame. And I don't feel necessarily the sense of urgency, and I'm mad kind of with elected officials, particularly the black ones, because many of them

They're not out here educated. They could stitch you on this referendum. I haven't been to the, or seen, and if they have, and I stand corrected, somebody sent it to me, but I haven't seen any of these damn black elected officials from the city all the way up to the federal level, outtelling people, I need y'all to understand this referendum and what is getting ready to do to change the state constitution in Wisconsin in relationship to diversity, equity, and inclusion. I haven't seen it.

I haven't seen it. I haven't seen the mailer, the news. I haven't seen the town hall. I haven't seen none. I haven't seen it. I haven't seen it. Can I ask you a question? So with the stuff that's on the ballot, how long did people know what was going to be on the ballot?

before. We've known definitely since February because you know we by the time the primary happened all of that was solidified that those questions were going to be on the ballot. So we've known since the first in a year. Okay so since February my question now is since we already knew what was going to be on the ballot for the midterms why would we wait 60 30 days out to try to push

and get people to understand what the hell is on the ballot. But there is not even a push. That's what I'm saying to you. I see the legal women voters. They got a document that's printed up and you know, here we go. I don't even see the NAACP. You know, going hard on this issue in any meaningful way locally. I don't see a number of black organizations and groups going hard on this issue. I don't see black elected officials going hard on this issue.

And it's almost like it just becomes a, you know, well, well, that's what happened. Well, it is what it is. But you can tell me about your project to do this. You can tell me about your, you know, this going on, this going on. But here is something that is literally going to change the landscape for black folks in this state in terms, in terms of programming dollars, resources, opportunities.

that people realize the playing field is not level. Racism has been prevalent in a number of state agencies, in a number of state practices, and a lot of these things that have been done have been done to try to level the playing field.

Now you got white Republicans trying to tell people or then black was to trying to tell people that the playing field is level And so we don't need to you know factor in race anymore in relationship to some of this stuff. I gotta take a break, but The University of Texas I was just looking at a story where they have now gotten rid of Just what I talk about all the time my undergraduate degrees in African-american history

That is no longer an option at the University of Texas. Hispanic Mexican Studies, no longer an option at the University of Texas. They have gotten rid of those as majors. I can't even major in it. Let me take a break and I'll be right back.

All right, family, welcome back to the show. So real quick, I pulled up the ballot. All right. So when you get ready to see your ballot, some of you have already gotten your ballot. You're going to see Governor Lieutenant Governor at the top of the ticket. All right. So governors, you know, Tom Tiffany, David Crawling, Attorney General Eric Tony, who's a Republican, Josh Call, and see people going to get past this election because this is a partisan election.

So you'll literally see Republican and Democrat by these candidates' names. So for some people, that's all they're going to do is vote in terms of the party. Secretary of State, Jay Schroeder, Republican, Jocasta Zeparipa, Democrat, and Peter Carraris, Wisconsin Green Party. I just want to be clear. Jocasta needs to bring her behind to WNOV.

Because I haven't talked to her. I've never been reached out by her campaign. I don't know if Keith has talked to her, but I just think it's just crazy to me that people run for these offices and she's all the person right here in the city of Milwaukee. So she's not far from this radio station.

I'm not going to be calling everybody all the time trying to get them on the show, because people call all the time when they're trying to push something or get information out. How is this woman running for Secretary of State? And we have never had a conversation with her. Look, Clark just said, I don't know who she is. She's an older person. She used to be a state representative. She know better. But it's who you damn care about. Ain't nobody heard from Joe Costa? So, you know, all of that irritates my soul. State treasurer.

John Lieber and Yee-ling Yong, I'm not saying his name correctly last name and I apologize, X-I-O-N-G. He's a Democrat on the ballot. For Congress, Congressional District, Tim Rogers, the resident Republican who run every election against Glenn, Glenn Moore, and then who used to be on the show with Meach, Arthur Burks, who rolls his Rs, or I can't even do it. He's running as an independent.

under and then you got assembly races in mind. Unfortunately, Russell, Antonio, Goodwin, Jamalala, Milwaukee County Sheriff, Anita Ball was running uncontested for the Querco circuit courts, Anna Marie Hodges running uncontested. And then you get to the referendum questions. And so it says state of Wisconsin partial veto referendum question one.

question one and it says vote for one and the question says partial veto shall section 10 blah blah blah of article five of the Constitution be amended to prohibit the governor and exercising his or her partial veto authority from creating or increasing or authorizing the creation or increase of any tax or fee yes or no that's a lot and there will be people

that will be confused. And they're like, okay, this is a whole bunch, any meanie, mighty moe, and whichever one they land on, that's one they're gonna pick. In my capacity as Michelle Bryant, not connected to this radio station, not connected to any organization that I'm a part of, in my personal capacity, I'm telling y'all that needs to be a no vote. Question one needs to be a no vote. Why? Republicans got upset when Tony Evers made that,

change during the process in which he extended support for public schools for 400 years. I think it was from 40 to 400 years. Every governor up to evers has had the ability to to use their veto and to be able to use their authority in this capacity. It was fine as long as they had control. All of these questions have been introduced by Republicans. So just start there.

All of these questions have been introduced by Republicans. I don't know how many times Republicans have done something good for you. I just can't count a whole bunch of times. So, I'm already paying attention because I understand who's bringing me the gift. I'm looking at the food sideways because I know who the preparer is. So, question number two.

State of Wisconsin, freedom to gather in places of worship during an emergency. Question number two, the question reads, quote, freedom to gather in places of worship during an emergency. Child section 18 of article one of the Constitution, which deals with religious liberty, be amended to prohibit the state or a political subdivision of the state from ordering the closure of or forbidding gatherings in places of worship in response to a state emergency, including a public health emergency.

This has to do with covid Republicans and you know they because they love to beat the the the drama like they the biggest most religious most Christian most faithful Bible thumping people on the planet When half of that is is gang and a scam because if you look at a bunch of these scandals it involves some immorality that's going on behind closed doors but

People came out, some church groups came out, pastors came out, said, hey, y'all left liquor stores open, but you closed the churches. Number one, as I've said, you're going to liquor store for five minutes. I was in church yesterday for almost four hours. People singing, hugging, dancing, running around the room, doing all the stuff that they do to praise and worship. You got a better chance of spreading

something like COVID in church than you do in the liquor store. Because you ain't in the liquor store for an hour, for two hours. You ain't hugging nobody. You ain't singing joy, you know, praises. You ain't doing all that stuff. The pastor, you know, I mean, you're not doing it. I'm just saying this. You ain't singing joy.

So, you know, there are people like, but Michelle, no, because what this also does is it gives the church more power than the federal government. I'm also identity state government. That's not how this country was supposed to be set up. It's not set up. It's not designed that way. You would put the church above the state. The reason this country was formed in the first place is because the people were trying to get away from that kind of rule and control.

from being up under the thumb of the church. Everybody don't practice the same religion. Everybody don't rock with the same God. Everybody doesn't serve the same, you know, same religious situation. So no, the church was never meant to be more powerful than the state. And that's what this referendum does. It makes the church more powerful than the state in terms of the state understanding the magnitude of a health emergency.

That's astronaut. The church doesn't have access to all of the information that the state has. The church does not have the health department, well, the CDC, when it used to be good, not what it is now, messing with our Kennedy, but the health experts, the people that tell you what's going on. I gotta go back and look to see if the majority of people who died during COVID,

in Wisconsin were black, but we was the first ones to pass away from COVID. So, you know, I appreciate that folks need religion. But what we learned from COVID is you can have religion. I mean, you can have service online so you can reconvene. There are ways to continue to practice your faith that don't require you putting yourself in harm's way. So again, Michelle Bryant.

not connected to this radio station, not connected to any organization that I have something to do. Just Michelle by the individual, I'm saying that should be a no vote. It should be a no vote. The last question. State of Wisconsin government entity discrimination prohibited. Question number three. Governmental entity discrimination prohibited south

Shall section 27 of article one of the Constitution be created to prohibit governmental entities in the state from discriminating against or granting preferential treatment to any individual group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in public employment, public education, public contracting, or public administration? That's a DEI question. That is an attack on diversity, equity, inclusion. Republicans don't give nay damn about whether or not Black folks are being discriminated against.

They do not care. They do not care. I don't care how many black tokens they run out in front of you and wave like, oh, look, here we are, you know, in black in the Republican Party, a black man can be a man. All SBS. This is intended to go after programs that are designed to level the playing field where black people have systematically been kept out of opportunities.

We have lower participation because of hiring decisions and the way programs are offered. So this is not intended to help us. It's intended to hurt us.

This is helping to go in compliance with Donald Trump's policies about banning diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of these institutions and universities, in federal hiring, what he allowed Elon Musk to come in there and do with Doge under the guise of accountability and efficiency. All of this is nonsense. These people got black folks and brown folks and women on the agenda.

Donald Trump just got asked a question Barack Obama has said something like if women ran stuff it stuff would be better Yeah, give women two years stuff would be better and they asked Donald Trump So did you hear what Barack Obama said about women running? You know stuff and Donald Trump said that's ridiculous

Yeah, we know you love women perv 19 folks accuse you of sexual assault. We know we will ask E Jean Carol how you love women You know, we'll ask all your wives who you've cheated on every one of them how you love women all up All three So y'all all of those questions on that ballot need to be a no all of them All three of them all of them were introduced by Republicans

All of them need to be enough. Yes, Jimmy. And what's tripping me out is how they are trying to strategically work this thing out of food. Yeah, because they know that the majority of the people are not going to pay attention. So how is worded? It's what's going to get. And that's how they get everything. That's that's how they I mean, it's all a game.

And we got to have people out here helping folks dissect the gang and understanding and appreciate. Somebody said I have 42 persons die of COVID-19 in my family. 42. The majority of them lived in Florida and they were Jehovah Witnesses. They did not believe in vaccination. Somebody else on social media said my birthday friend Sheila Staten was the first black female to die of COVID in Milwaukee. Man, I lost mine.

friend. So Marcus. We played drums. Thank you. Marcus played drums and and yeah. Thank you. I mean, we was all shocked and surprised that wow, Marcus is gone. There's a cold. This is a thing I need people to keep in mind. Y'all, we were putting not here in Wisconsin, but in in states. I always remember New York.

They were doing mass graves. They had semis, refrigerated semis with people's bodies on those trucks because they couldn't get these people buried fast enough. And folks dying without the ability to be able to even see loved ones. This pandemic stuff is real. These health emergencies were real. Black folks died overwhelmingly in this situation.

And you got Republicans introducing legislation to say, um, it doesn't matter how severe the situation is, that church should never close. That's nonsense. That's nonsense. Because first of all, you don't have to be in a physical structure to worship and praise God. It's great to have the camaraderie. It's great to come together, but not when you're talking about putting people's lives at risk.

That's not essential. So I just want to make sure that I have gone through those referendum questions and I got some callers on the phone and get them in. But y'all, all three questions should be per Michelle Bryant and nothing that I'm connected to outside of me, the individual, no, no organizations I work for, no sororities. I'm a member of Michelle Bryant. I'm saying all three of those questions need to be no, no and no.

Now, when you see me out my other capacities, I will tell you it's your decision. Let me go to the phone line. Hey, Carla, what's happening? Hello? Yes. Good morning, guys. It's Kathy. Hey, Kathy. Good morning. Yeah. I've been telling people too, but this is a little early, but I've been telling people with the rest of what I'm missing out here. If you're not sure what's going on, just vote no, and maybe look it up earlier, which I think they're not going to do.

But I said, this is great. No, if you're not sure of something, you don't tell people, yes, I did it. You know, you just say, no, you know. But, you know, and I'm not sure about who's going to want to donate on this radio station. Probably none of them. I hate to say it like that, but I'd like to be wrong. I would donate $25 if we got a flyer. It's my wish to make up. That's enough to make a lot of prints up. But to make prints up, and as we're walking around, and like you said, a church or anywhere, you know, you can pass that flyer out and let people know.

If you give it to them, there's three referendums or two referendums, and this is what they mean. And we're asking that you vote no on it. Or we want to tell the people. But there's flyers that need to be kind of hand out. Because I hand out stuff all the time to people for different events going on and stuff like that. And there's flyers. There's flyers for events. People having this and people having that. So it wouldn't be no problem. Just fly. You can get two.

Two pages on one piece of paper is black and white. Nothing fancy. Just a white piece of paper, black and white sand, what the referendums are, and read of them carefully because you may not be voting in your best interest, you know, yes or no. And if you're not really sure of something, just say no. You know, until you read this, like the school board, even though we voted for the children, first of all, you can't play children or disabled or anybody or anybody game on me. Oh, this is for them, no ink for them.

Okay, they're gonna be all right no matter what you know what we're gonna help take care of them now. They want to close the schools down So what I'm saying is that the sorority groups of anybody we needed that's good of a flyer made up And everybody kind of be consistent on it and they like you say pass it out to church I can tell it to my niece and my nephew or my kids, but I need to give it to them Say hey look the rest of them is coming up in November And I'm not shocked that men don't vote a lot of the men who said didn't vote it is later than vote

I hear a lot of people saying they're not going to change me. And this is what a lot of them say, too. I'm needing my benefits. You're getting benefits from the tax. They are most of them. They have to see it like that. And they're under a certain age. They don't work enough minutes or days or hours to even earn social security. OK? And the other thing that's coming up, don't you get any benefits? Everybody's happy because they're in a certain level of lifestyle. They're going to go nowhere anyway. But on the other hand, you sit here. And as of October 1,

informing what's going on. We're reading up on it while I work at now. We got a 10-hour session. We're doing 2-3 hours a day to read up on what the county and the state and the federal government is going to do about your food stamps and going to work at a certain age, okay? And cutting you off. A lot of that stuff to apply to people who are my U.S. citizens in this country and stuff. You're going to have some problems with people. We're going to be more crime and robbery out here than ever. And that starts with October 1st with benefits.

Yep, and I'll be talking about it. And we're doing this whole, and I'm listening like, I'll be done, but we're doing an overall of everything anyway. We don't just do what I do in my department, which I don't tell people. We do a variety of different stuff when it comes to DHS and accounting and certain programs and stuff. It just connects in with everything, kinship care, all that kind of stuff, foster care, you know, just everything. You know, so we have a variety of stuff. We have to learn a lot of stuff. A lot of stuff I think that we don't work with or we shouldn't have to know it, but that's.

what we have to do. But I'm telling you, October 1st, a lot of benefits will be cut off. And some people in my office and even personally say, that's good. And I've even said, because after years of working and doing politics and volunteering and helping out with stuff, I have to look at this and say, you know what, I'm on this side.

I don't want people to say, oh, she's not sympathetic. My sympathetic is going out the window and that's with an individual person. If you know or you get on the radio and say something, I will help out. I'm tired of people complaining and not doing anything, OK? It's not going to happen anymore. My age and voting all the time and these men and people saying don't vote. A lot of vote don't matter to them because it's not maybe not going to affect them, but it may affect the relative down the road. But then I worried about that. But for grown men, especially these Black people,

sitting up here saying, well, I never even cared to vote, or your brother know you in politics, but never even say anything about voting because he didn't want to get into it with somebody. That's what it was. But they don't care. They live and they get that little bit. They're not interested in politics. They may talk about it or get involved once they get on this radio station working. But in general, that's not their field. They don't care. You ain't voted and you're 57 years old. Who gives a damn for the other vote?

It ain't gonna matter anyway, so stop complaining about Trump and everybody else. They're not going to be voting and the lady like he said praying on God

I had a tenant come up and told me I prayed for this apartment. And I to myself said, I pray you don't get it. I don't play like that. I check everything out and make sure everything's right. You're not going to get anything because you prayed for it. I don't even like to deal with any kind of people. I'm not trying to be funny. I'm halfway like you. When I was younger, sometimes I wanted to be an atheist. Sometimes I didn't because I've seen how the world was dysfunctioned, whether it was black, white or whoever. Or do I know a variety of people and I hang with a variety of people? Okay. All right, Kathy, I got you. I'm just tired of the crap all the time how this, this and this goes.

So look at the referendum, read up on it, print it off. Write it down to your grandkids. If you don't vote, take me on the vote. But I guess until your grandkids, if somebody gets in trouble, it don't apply to me. Bless you. All right, got you. Thank you. Got another caller in. And we'll dissect some of that. Hey, caller, what's happening? Good morning, Michelle. Hey, Solis, how you doing this morning? I'm doing well in here, so. I'm good. I'm good.

Okay. Um, I must have had our smoke system going on because Thursday I wasn't telling my dad was in, but I did mark all three of them because I, um, all three of them know. And, you know, I don't know for some reason, I did just to sound right, even though I did not understand the verb at your period at all. And another thing, um, I'm so grateful that when I came home in 2008, you were on the air and

I had just received my letter because I'm like, oh man, I just got out. I knew that I would get my rights to vote and that letter and stuff. And I got my letter from Tommy Thompson. And listening to you, I don't know how some of the problems with WLOB, that's how I started learning to want to vote. A lot of things I don't understand, but I know some participation is better than none. And the reason I never voted before that is because

That's how the households grew up, not just because they don't believe in vaccinations or whatever, but I had to follow what the people that adopted me said, too. And voting was not a part of it. And another thing we can complain about Donald Trump, but we don't want to vote for a black one, you know.

That part that part. All right. Thank you. So Lisa. Oh, I forgot. I forgot. Yeah. I gotta go in my closet and get rid of the armed roses and I, you know, my she got no letters on it. You know, a lot of them. Wait a minute. The Jesus got this.

She said that the AD fell off and the C fell off. And then I'd be asking the people at the beauty shop more often than they said it fell off. Somebody was messing with me trying to steal the clothes. And I'd do you a 10% discount. And it was only like 10 cents. Hey, listen, I got a parking marker, so please come on see me. I'd rather see you soon.

Alright family, welcome back to the show. Got a caller who helped you to break. Let's get them in. Hey, caller. What's happening? What's going on, player?

And I'm gonna give a shout out to right out here. Keep me holding and hang up on me. Appreciate you, brother. Well, brother, you know, I try to do my best. Appreciate you. You did a great job this time. This time. Who you with? You fool! Who you with? Who you with? You fool! All right, so listen. First thing is, they running, I'm in Nashville.

and they're running a David Crawley commercial. Say what? In Nashville. And they're running a David Crawley hate commercial. Wait, what is it on? What did you see it on? Like a cable network or something? It's on a cable network. It's on a cable network. And they're running a David Crawley commercial. They talk about just health care plan, the failure to

to negotiate your contract with the transit system to something to that nature, increasing your property taxes. And it's running in Nashville, Tennessee on a regular. So that just lets you know that they people dumb because why are you running it in that market? That makes no sense. And that's crazy. Go ahead. And that was my question to you, Michelle, is that that comment? No, it's not. They do it in it.

See it would even even like because a lot of people now they run ads like on Roku and some of these Yeah, these streaming services, but it's still targeted So you know the market that that spot should be running in so somebody messed up and missed that and they running it down there It shouldn't be running down there. That's ridiculous because it's no it shouldn't be running down there unless they trying to raise money

you know because it would be interesting to see what the end of the commercial says because then like we need your help in Wisconsin to stop this country being elected now that I could see where you're trying to raise money from around the country to be able to stop that um you know to stop a democrat from from getting the governor's office but so I would have to see what the end of it says so I look I look to see the fine print you know how they had a little fine print on the bottom

But as far as making a verbal request for support, they don't do that. It shouldn't be running down here. Now it makes no sense. And this is heavy rotation, too. I'm just letting you know that. Really? Yeah, it's in here. That's crazy, man. Matter of fact, next time, I got this old phone. I'm kind of cheap and I'll stick with phone forever. Show up my ass, no space. I'm going to record it and shoot it out to you, Michelle.

Next time they come on and it won't be on it to be on it been on like three times this morning So it'd be on it won't be long, you know, it's because it's in heavy rotation like that. It's in heavy rotation That's you know what and while you online somebody said I'm seeing ads in California and Florida a lot and the person curly Are you saying you seeing ads against Crawley in Cali in Florida? Yeah, I mean put it in the chat

I'm a machine cannot pull that off with just one that I have. All right, thank you. As usual, I just want to do a shout out to my 26th family. Go ahead, go ahead. The 5306 Rupert King, to my Christy King family, to my mother Louise Howard. And I want to do a special shout out because I feel kind of goofy. I miss my nephew, Dorian Higgins. I miss his birthday. The podcaster will bring it to the table. Truth be told, I love your nephew. That's OK. And hollat me, I'm going to treat you to lunch.

And to the WNLV family, love y'all. Chris, have a lovely hour. See you Saturday. Love y'all. Peace. Be well. Thank you, bro. I appreciate it. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. No, y'all.

If those commercials for Carl against Crawley are running down there then either somebody did that ad by wrong or they trying to raise dollars The Republican Party as a whole trying to raise dollars to come in but Tiffany don't need no money Tiffany got boo-hoo money It just could be so I don't know I would have to see the commercial to see what's happening. We got another caller. Let's catch them. Hey caller. What's happening? Good morning Michelle and good morning everyone. Good morning. Good morning

I just wanted to share real quickly. I won't take up too much time, but something keeps popping up on my YouTube videos. Okay. It's a black guy with a beard and a red shirt on and a wonky bucks baseball cap. And he says that you should register. No, you must register to vote by October 14th. That's the last day you can register to vote. So y'all know.

That is not true. You can register to vote day up. Very misleading. But there are and I'm getting ready to pull it up. Hang on. Because he may not be saying the whole thing. So October 14th is the last day to register to vote online.

So he's not say yeah, so he's not saying the whole thing correctly But I knew when I heard the date October 14th. There is a deadline For online registration. Yes, we can go into the polls and register in person But if you wanted to register online that does end on October 14th. So he just is not he's not saying the whole thing correctly

That's what, so I don't think he's intentionally trying to mislead people, but he just doesn't have all the information. And if he does, he's not saying it correctly. Online registration ends on October 14th. Okay, just check out the guys. Oh man, I'm trying to find it again. I apologize.

Wisconsin evergreen voter registration. Oh, so that's every vote counts. Okay. Yep. I know who the EBC is. Yep. Nope. That's what he's saying online. That's what he should be saying is that online registration is. So they got somebody out there giving misinformation and I'll reach out to the people to let them know. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you for flagging it for us. That's what we do. I appreciate you. Thank you. You got it. All right. All right. Yeah. Any other callers are we good?

I got another caller. Let's get him in. Hey, caller, what's happening? It's me again, Michelle. Hey, so I kept getting text messages from Tiffany, Tom Tiffany. So I got tired of them because I put the stop, you know, and then I have a flip phone. But anyway, so what I did on the next time they had questioned me on Wednesday, I mean, that question gave me some statements. I forgot, I just forgot exactly what they were, but I said, well, why do we have a, oh, he was talking about the tablets.

And that the way he worded it, and I said, well, why do we have a president that is incompetent? I have a hold for him since. I take it very, very, and I still got that number. This is 9-2 on my card. Yeah, and then the next day, why was he had to add against Crowley to come out incompetent? That was the first negative word came out of his mouth.

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Um, so, uh, somebody just said, uh, it's probably the gentleman's, uh, algorithm who called us from Tennessee. Uh, if you're from Wisconsin, listen to Wisconsin based stuff, he's getting targeted as not on television. You shouldn't be getting them on television.

Because those ad buys are specific to a market. So it would be different if you doing it on your cell phone or your tablet. But if you talk about TV commercials, that shouldn't be happening on TV commercials. Like I said, unless it was like a Roku or something like that. So he's going to look and check it out and let us know. All right. So I mentioned real quickly the University of Texas and why for me this.

Third question on our ballot is so critical and important because the University of Texas has sent out

information that says starting next semester, there will be no women's gender and sexuality courses that will count towards the curriculum requirements. So you had a number of courses that you could choose from when you're in college to help you satisfy core requirements. You had a diversity of offerings so that you, you know, everybody not taking the same information, but you still can satisfy your requirement. What

The university has gone in and said that anything that is they rejected all women's and gender studies courses from counting towards the core curriculum. The other thing that they went in and they did is they got rid of.

Mexican American women 1940 to present. That's the class that offered that was offered. They got rid of the intro to African American women's history intro to our Native American women's history. All those women's studies classes are gone now will be gone for the upcoming semester at the University of Texas. They also went in and they eliminated majors.

They eliminated the women's gender and sexuality studies major. They eliminated the African and African diaspora studies major. That's me. They eliminated Mexican American and Latino studies. And of course, the College of Liberal Arts was like, man, y'all, what are y'all doing? Why would you eliminate these as majors? You don't think nobody's ever going to teach black history in this country ever again?

And you don't think that they ought to be able to get a degree in teaching African-American history or teaching Mexican history or teaching indigenous or native history? Seriously? So this push by this Republican administration to only have a white-centered, white-focused curriculum at our university level and trickling down to K-12 education.

Why do you care if I go get a African-American studies degree? Why do you care? Why is that not a major anymore? So this is why I said what is happening is so important in relationship to that diversity, equity, and inclusion question that they have on the Wisconsin ballot. These folks are going through anything that is not white, they are getting rid of.

They are trying to figure out how we remove all of these conversations from classrooms, students being educated, options being provided. They have decided that our education, or I'm sorry, our story, our history is not relevant and not important. And the people making these decisions are white. This is why this becomes so imperative that you have to vote and you have to participate.

They it is so crazy That you see these cuts being made across the board so We can sit at home if we want to and miss the boat on this if we want to and then you're gonna wake up and realize like I could have did something and I didn't I should have been engaged, but I wasn't Let me let me do this real quick. I gotta go to break But has anybody seen the reboot or the the new a different world?

Oh my God. I binge watched the entire thing. I went to bed like a two o'clock in the morning because I watched all the episodes. The one thing I will say that Debbie Allen and the folks that redid this on many fronts, they did not disappoint. When I say they cover all the hot button issues, they covered ice.

immigration and the threat of Africa because there's an African student that's a part of the regular cast on the show and his parents come to visit him and he's not majoring in what they want him to major in and so they say you know you risking your life over here messing with ICE.

to get a degree and you're not even getting a degree that's going to pay you money. His African father makes a comment about black folks not appreciating and understanding, you know, what they got, you know, he is condescending about black Americans. When I say there is nothing that they don't, that they don't touch.

They got at the federal government and it cuts to HBCUs. They got at mismanagement of funds. They got at, you know, black kids showing up on the campus and there was no housing for them. When I tell you, I didn't expect to watch the whole thing. I was going to watch an episode or two, catch some of it later. I got so caught up, I watched the entire season. And I'm like, I know y'all better be

having a season two of this comfortable. That's how good. And yeah, I'm telling you, and you know, people can have whatever critiques or whatever, but look, somebody just said a different world reboot. Woo, baby. Yes. Wait, hold on. Where you go? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. It was so good. No, no, no, no daughter.

Yes, it's been there. Yes to Sheena Arnold who played Pam on Martin. Her biological, her real life daughter is on the show and you know with her daughter the minute she started laughing. She laughed like her mama and she got that gritty, grainy voice like her mom. You know what? It was funny because I was just watching this interview with Jasmine God. Okay. Jasmine God said that they was at the table doing a table reading. Okay.

After they was done, she turned and looked at the young lady and said, please tell me that Tashina Arno is Ken Foxy. She said, that's my mama. She said, I knew it. And it's cool because they got Tashina Arno playing her mama on the show. Wow. Yeah, Tashina plays her mom on the show. And so, and we had to go back and just go down memory lane for me on a different world because

Just think about what they did and how groundbreaking that show was. But and we was laughing at who the parents were. Because remember, Diane Carroll was Whitley's mom. And what's what's what's what's my man's name? The White Skin Man, who was her daddy? No, that was Whitley Whitley's dad. He was.

He was like, did he play a pimp or something in the other shows? What was his name? I know he should remember. I wrote it down and I'm so mad. I can't remember right now, but I'll pull it up. And then Patty LaBelle was Duane's mama.

Uh, you know, you just had the stars up in here. Superfly. Superfly was Whitley's daddy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Thanks, Keisha. Superfly was Whitley's daddy. Ronald Neil. Ronald Neil. Yep, Ronald Neil. And so, you know, so it's so cool to see this reboot. I am enjoying it. I hope they are going to do a season two because we ate that up. It was, it was just so good to see it all.

And so if you haven't had a chance to see, I encourage you to check it out because they do. They bring up a lot of the issues that are facing young college students today. And even though some of those things have changed, you know, it's still that level of advocacy, awareness, and having the difficult conversations and not being afraid to touch any subject. And I'm going to tell you, for all you people that's gay, people, you know, gunshot, there are two brothers on campus that's gay. The one thing that everybody I know watched

that said that they appreciate it, it wasn't a big deal made about. That don't mean that don't happen in season two. But for this first season, okay, you gay and everybody moved on. Because one of the things we're talking about during the break is people have used that issue of people being gay as a wedge issues to have people vote in a certain way.

You know, I'm supporting Trump because he trying to you know, ban what Obama and him did in terms of LGBTQ rights and I'm like But you're not worried about the price of gas. You're not worried about housing You're not worried about the fact that they're trying to put almost 800,000 people off their healthcare on the ACA Affordable Care Act You're not worried about none of the stuff that really impacts your life every day. You worried about if somebody gay or not

but don't none of that come to your front door. None of that impacts your child's ability to get an education and the fact that you got the wrestling lady over education that 350,000 plus black women have lost their jobs since this administration has come in and it's felt very targeted and intentional because in a lot of households, black women have been a primary breadwinner or you significantly, significantly cutting a black household's income in half because most of these black women work.

Black women help to guide the voting decisions in some of these families. And that's who you go after. So the stuff that you should be worried about, you're not worried about. You worry about who's somebody sleeping with. But that don't have nothing to do with the cost of gas, food, you know, meat, none of that. But that's what you're making voting decisions on.

is that, oh, he's going to get rid of the gays or he going to get rid of the immigrants. But none of that's impacting your ability to do any of the things that I see. Your child's still in a failed school. It don't have a damn thing to do with an immigrant. You still went to, I went to the gas pump and put 11 gallons worth of gas in my Jeep on whatever day that was, and it was $75 for 11 gallons. That did not, my Jeep takes

19 or 20 gallons of gas. 11 gallons of gas was $75. But I'm in here worried about if you got a transgender child on the team and that's why I'm voting for this particular party. Y'all need to cut it out. Let me take a break. I'll be right back.

you are in news. With just weeks until the midterms, the Supreme Court is allowing the Trump administration to move forward for now with a sweeping new way to check voter citizenship. In the six to three decision, the court lifted a lower court restriction on the expanded federal safe system. States and local governments can now use social security numbers and other federal records to run bulk citizen checks before people register to vote. The Trump administration says the system is needed to identify

non-citizens who may be illegally registered, but evidence of widespread non-citizen voting has not been established, and voting rights groups' worn database errors could instead flag eligible American voters. Federal law generally prohibits systematic removal programs within 90 days of the federal election. The Supreme Court specifically acknowledged that restriction while saying individual citizenship investigations can still occur. For AUR News, I'm Ebony McMorris.

When it comes to our community and our values, David Crowley's agenda is right for us. Born and raised in Milwaukee, and now raising three daughters here with his wife, David Crowley understands the money pressures families are facing. That's why county executive David Crowley is focused on the basics. Crowley has a plan to lower the cost of housing and property taxes, cut utility bills, improve our schools, and make neighborhoods safer. But Washington Congressman Tom Tiffany has a very different agenda.

Tiffany is a mega extremist. We had a hundred percent voting record with Trump. In Congress, Tiffany voted to cut Social Security services and Medicare. And Tiffany backed legislation to ban abortion, with no exception for rape, incest, or the life of the mother. So whose plan makes your life better? Congressman Tiffany's mega agenda? Or David Crowley's plan to lower costs and improve our schools? Paid for by Protect All Wisconsin.

with your host mission. All right, family, welcome back to the show. We got two callers. Let me get them in real quick. Hey, caller, what's happening? Hello? Yes. What's going on there?

I just you know because I watch but I read about it

But did you see it? He got food everywhere he went to. But Arizona, check this out. And I'm glad you brought this up because I was watching it and they were saying how.

by him coming to the game, it kind of inconvenienced every, you know, like the students and everybody, because they had to come early, they had to do checks and sweeps and make sure that everything was safe for the president. And that goes back to what I've been saying. Everything he touch, touch, touch, touch to sugar honey ice tea like I'll say. Not only that though, Arizona, not only that, but this whole conspiracy theory about this White House

this press shooting stuff that the guy got inside and had the gun and all that other stuff. When I said that this stuff is a hoax, it's not real because when any other time when he show up, they doing sweeps, they make it. They get nowhere near him. So how all of a sudden a guy walked past an officer with a dog with a gun and then run out the room and start shooting the hallway.

Stop it, man. What about this one? We have the best poverty rates in America. And it's blacks and Hispanics. You said we got the best poverty. We got the best poverty rates. Why would you say that? Did you hear that machine when he said that? No, I'm looking for it while you're saying it.

because it's so much trying to keep up with the foolishness that goes on. That dude says, we got the best, we got the best poverty, we got the best poverty going on in the United States. What is he talking about? Oh yeah, there it is. He said, oh, that was back from the Indy 100 when he said, we have quote, the best poverty numbers ever in the history of our country. Best ever dude.

I guess you could say poverty. They talk poverty. We have the best poverty numbers ever.

Okay, yeah, I'm looking at it. So they're saying that the percentage of Americans that fell whose Whose income or whatever fell below the poverty line dropped the official poverty rate failed to 10.2% Which is the lowest level recorded since tracking began. Yeah But that came from the US Census Bureau under his control. No, sir. I don't believe nothing. They say

And they do show it to Mr. Kuhn about his percentage, about 21% is his 200%. Seems like that was two years ago underneath your president. No, no, no, that wasn't even Biden. No, you saw what you're saying. His gas prices was $6 when Biden was going on. Man, he was so quiet. It's a church mouse.

Yeah, they keep going on these shows and getting tripped up and these interviews getting tripped up by people. I guess they don't think nobody understands, can read, knows the facts, has a long memory, able to put two and two together because they've had a number of their folks that have been out on the media circuit and they've been getting killed by the press. Well, the press is finally after two years checking them because I guess they're tired of the lies and enough and enough. Or sometimes we'll advance, we'll be talking.

But yeah, bro, I'm pulling this up now because I didn't know he got boot even at the golf thing

I knew in Chicago, I don't care who you ain't getting handled correctly in Chicago. No way. But at the president, they said it was a few cheers, but that the booze was overwhelming and people were saying stuff. So I got to go back. Oh, they said, they said, they said, they said, get off you pedophile.

You got, you got booed at the football game. And then you got booed at the golf court on the next very day. I don't know. Matter of fact, I think it's the same day because he heard from West out of there. In fact, he heard them get back and they booed. I think it was the same day. I think they booed him twice in one day. I think if I was faking. Okay. Cause they said some of the golf fans were surprised. They thought that the reception would be better for him. And that people was like, no, I ain't nobody playing with him.

Like somebody wanna mess with me and rock with me. That's just Nicki Minaj. Nobody

It's like Nikki like man at some point think about your own situation you out here selling your soul and the people you selling it to and for are not the people that's gonna buy your music and support you may

I can't believe she has allowed herself to just go out like this. But thank you. All right. Is that it? We get another call. Okay. Let's get a man. Okay. I'm clearly not doing a show today.

You were talking about Texas first, but I hate to go to Texas because I know Texas is going to turn into something ugly. So let's start right here in the city. Listen, you love black people, right?

I mean, I don't need to answer because you already know that. That's fine. That's fine. That's fine. That's fine.

Okay, now now now you come on and you work with you You know black people, you know, that's your job to protect the community, correct?

You said you don't want to answer it because it could put you in a trick bag. And I understand. I didn't say none of that. Don't lie. I didn't say a damn thing about a computer in a trick bag. I said, you already know the answer. That's what I said. OK, all right. Now, if we love our community, I don't care who's running. I don't care what white folk, what black folk is running in the state right now. I don't care, all right? When it comes down

I'm talking about the school board tax again. I'm not going to let up on that, Michelle, because I see the future and a person that doesn't have anything to lose. I feel for you what you want to do. Let God bless you, okay? Be blessed. But a person that has worked years and have now graduated to the great years, the golden years of their life and their income will not increase like

other people income will. So that occurring school. This is the thing. You you keep popping on it from the angle of the school board. But for the people that you're talking about that need to be protected, those folks who are no longer in the workforce, they retired. Their income is now, you know, that's a state issue. It's not a school board issue.

No, we're talking about the city, oh no, their taxes, their taxes is an issue. I don't care what they use. But that's because of what's being done at the state level. They don't look. I appreciate, we advocated, we tried to check on laws to be changed so that

When you got to a point where you had retired and were at a fixed income so that you didn't get priced out of your community that we could freeze your property taxes at a certain level or you no longer pay property taxes. Right. And in the state constitution it says that no taxpayer can be given special treatment under the way our constitution is currently written. We'd have to change the constitution.

So, Republicans are more interested in changing the Constitution to get rid of DEI than to do something to help with this tax bill. Can we forget about Republicans? No, because I'm saying if they wanted to do something to help taxpayers that are on a fixed income, they could do it. It's a change in the Constitution. You've got 400 years of an annual tax increase that's going to start out at how many dollars per hundred? Again.

No, no, no, no, come on. They could have done it. This is what we're talking about right now. What about the people that don't have Christian come? What about people like me and you that are out and we have a house? We understand that stuff goes up. This the cost of living? No, but this is the cost of doing business. It starts out hurting you. It's not.

These people are not raising money just because they don't have nothing else to do now. And they, you know, like, oh, let's just take as much as we can. But I got almost a hundred million dollar deficit in the city of Milwaukee, right? I'm asking you to talk to me about what? How much the annual school budget for the 400 years, what is that going to cost us? What is that going to cost anybody that's a homeowner in the state?

Okay, in the state, in the state, all right, what is it per 100? How much money will be added on drive to outside of our regular city and county taxes? What's that school board tax going to be like $9 and 86 cents on the hunt on every thousand dollars. So they say it should be roughly about 46,000. I'm sorry.

46 dollars. Hold on. Hold on. I'm trying to understand it. You're going too fast. I need to be educated this morning. So you said it's going to be nine dollars. The Milwaukee Board of School directors approved a $1.6 billion budget for $26.27.

That's a 2.3% increase in school property taxes. That amounts to about $9.86 per 1,000 of market value on this house. So hang on, hang on. So for the medium, wait a minute, for the medium Milwaukee home of about $207,000, the property tax is about $2,045, which is roughly $46 higher than the previous year.

So when you're talking about what that looks like, we're talking $40 to $70 dependent on, you know, the value of your home, if it's median, you know, somewhere, not if you got a super expensive home. So you're doing the minimum of it. We got to look at whether you said $9 per hundred, right? Per thousand. Almost $10 per thousand. Okay, so let's round it off here to like $9.

$9.86. Round it off. You know where we going? You know where we going right now.

We're not, we're not being awkward with the people. It's nine dollars and a hundred. You know what, again, first of all, you call in. You won't even let me get to the good stuff. Because you know what, you ain't got no good stuff. Because you don't have to, you don't have no good stuff. Because you do all this calling in, you don't have none of your facts and your numbers in front of you. I got my facts together. You got facts for me. Hey bruh, stop hollering. Michelle, Michelle, you reading the facts. Okay, well can I jump the text because you just gonna let them go out. Hey, go ahead, because we almost out of time. Go ahead. I can't believe you though.

$9, $9, $9 on 100 on every thousand. You've got a house that's $100,000, that's $900 extra a month. If your house is at $200,000, that's $1,800.

That's $1,800. So that's gonna that's gonna that's gonna increase yearly, not including on the city tech, Michelle. Why do you want to tell the people you're gonna let them lose the house? They're not gonna lose their house. We're really gonna get the money from them. Did you want to say something about Texas? Let me go to Texas right quick. Let me go to Texas. You talked about Texas, getting rid of the women thing. I got to look at the women thing for one.

Because in that women's clause when they didn't realize when you have to remember something people are thinking transgender. No, this is women's studies. This is women's studies. Women's studies, that's right. But transgender women don't have nothing to do with women's studies. They don't have nothing to do with it. They don't have nothing to do with it. No, no, no, we're not going to conflate the two. We're not going to confuse the two. They are talking about banning all women's studies, all of them. Straight women, gay women, everybody, everybody.

Do you know why you have to purge it that way? Because, see, most people don't understand. Let me just get this through. Most people don't understand that it's not just a transgender thing. Dude, could y'all stop. No, because it's ignorant and I just can't allow it. It's ignorant. I'm telling you, they want to get rid of all women's studies. All of them. I understand that now. So why you should happen to transgender people? I'm not fighting you on that.

So let me ask a question. So let me ask a question. Do you agree that women's studies should be eliminated, should no longer be a major or should no longer count towards your core curriculum requirements? Do you agree with that? And its purest form never should it be dismissed. Never. So what's the non purest form? Hold on, but it has become polluted.

It has not. It has not. It has not. It has not. Thank you. Thank you. Hang up. Hang up. It has not. Is this type of misinformation that hurts our community? It has not. You can go to many of these classes and they have nothing to do with transgender nobody.

It is about the history of black women in this country, the history of indigenous women, Native American women, the history of Mexican women, their contributions, them as writers, them as elected officials, you know, whatever the stories are we telling about? Because what we found is that these stories were not being told. They weren't being elevated. Women and girls didn't, I mean, young girls didn't see themselves as leaders, as politicians, as medical...

professionals as whatever you want to say. And so all of these things got created because of a need. I remember when the fights were happening to get black studies offered in a lot of these colleges and universities because you didn't get that education when you went to university. All you learned about was white folks, white heroes, white leaders, white, white, white, white, white, white, white. And you got black people sitting there like, so you telling me we ain't do a damn thing?

We ain't contribute half of the stuff y'all use every day out here in this with this country and in this world We invented it, but that's not gonna come up in this classroom Y'all going to get blood transfusions using traffic lights. You're using an ironing board. You ain't you gonna act like we had nothing to do with that Our writers our literature, you know, we're gonna do Shakespeare. We're gonna do these people. We're gonna do these people But we're gonna discuss Baldwin. We're not gonna discuss Morrison We're not gonna discuss Frederick Douglass

the whitewashing of education and and and also We're moving women. So the misogyny of it all That's the thing and so for you to come in here argue Well, if it was pure, but all y'all gotta do is throw up the word transgender And then now, you know, the water is sullied and it's a dirty word and we gotta stop it But y'all spend more time worried about gay people that don't have a damn thing to do with y'all

You ain't running in no gay people on a regular basis. They ain't in your house You're not you're not you're not losing a job because of them your education for your child is not bad because of them none of that But that's what you call in here about is because you worried about who somebody sleeping with or how somebody identify

But on a day-to-day basis, what impacts you more? The cost of gas or transgender person? Not having healthcare or a transgender person. What impacts you more? This man, you know, gutting the EEOC, them tearing up the department of education, black women losing their jobs at a record rate. What impacts you more as a black man in this town?

transgender people, of which I only know two. I only know two. In my whole adult black life, I've only met two trans that I personally know. I only know two. Now, some people can be like, well, Michelle, you don't get out enough. I get out plenty. I know two. The two I know, they don't impact me. Not, not nary, nay, way. Not one way. One of them.

He got really awful tasting clothes. I'd be like, boy, you need to stop. If you're going to dress like a lady, I'm going to need you to go get some coaching because these outfits is crazy. But other than that, there is nothing that they do that impacts me. The stuff you need to be worried about, you're not talking about it. All right. So somebody said this was the people show. Because.

The topics that I was gonna get to today I get to none of them. Somebody said Exactly, this is a person who's been a college professor. I've taught gender studies and black studies Meach is loud and wrong again So we're not gonna discuss black women's contributions in America and history because you worried that something transgender is gonna come up Just let all that sit for a minute y'all

It's just ignorant and they play on our ignorance They play on on these wedge issues the things that divide us that are so miniscule in the big picture But you go into some of these places and that's all they talk about who gay Who transgender the gays taking over that's what they talk about the gays is taking over Okay, I gotta go

Y'all don't want me out today. I got a headache and I'm tired wrestling with it to use me to where y'all got me here wrestling with y'all this morning. All right, family bros. I appreciate you. Thank you for helping make the show go this morning. Everybody called in everybody that checked in on YouTube, Facebook. I appreciate y'all. I'll talk to y'all tomorrow. Peace.
