I got a message to Mary Ellen Jones. You're still associated with his radio station. And there had been a tradition set of birthday celebrations in his studio, in his organization. There should be confetti all over. Confetti to the point that it's like, who gonna clean all this? I mean, it'll be an explosion. All my favorite candy was supposed to be sitting on the counter.

It's been a wonderful weekend. It's been a wonderful weekend. Good, good. I'm glad, you know, normally y'all be having tragedy fun. Yeah, it was good this weekend. I appreciate it. It was good, it was good. We have held off on the tragedy, at least on this phone call. So it is this session. Did you get a lot of sunlight or did you get you some, you know, some breeze zone? One of the things that I never do when I go to the vineyard is the polar bear plunge. Down at this area called the inkwell, this is like an 80-year tradition now. A group of black women went down to go do morning exercise,
get in the water like about seven o'clock, 730. And then they started inviting other people and other people saw them and wanted to participate. So it has become a longstanding tradition that seven days a week you can find.
This group of black folks and now other folks come it's not exclusively black But it's predominantly black of black folks who are in the water doing morning meditation do a morning exercise stretching Just communing with nature and it is
It is definitely one of the prettiest things I've ever seen. But I never do it because usually if I'm in Martha's Vineyard, I'm doing my show. So I'm on the air at the time, but LaQuisha always gets up and goes. But I'm on the air at the time that it's happening. And so because I wasn't able to do the show.
Thank you. Thank you, fam. Because I wasn't able to do the show, I was able to go down and watch. I didn't get in the water, but I just got my morning coffee, sat on one of the benches, took pictures of it, and just took it all in. But there have been a ton of people from Wisconsin who have participated in it. I got beautiful photos. I think Wanda Montgomery comes to mind as one person. I think whose photos I've seen.
Just absolutely incredible. So got to, you know, do some things that I don't normally do because of being on the show first thing in the morning.
Let me just say this. Thank you so much to the folks that filled in for me. My sorority sister, partner in crime, Vivian King. I heard that she was, what was your new name, Jamie? Is that your name? Jamie. Oh, you should have seen him. What's he saying? No, he was named. Tell me more. Look, Oh, Wanda just sent me her picture. Yep, because she is a member.
Oh, yeah, I have to say, all right, there it is. See, I'm going to eventually get in the water. I got to get in the water. Let me see what the certificate says. Inkwell, I am the source of my joy and infinite possibilities. She became a member in 2024, the Inkwell Beach. So it's really, really cool. So thank you to Vivian. She said she chilled and relaxed in that second hour. Jemaine was real nice. Helped her through.
Uh, so that was cool. And then, um, Angela Harris, uh, heard Angela was beastie as usual. I had folks who was like, oh, she was excellent this morning. You know, Angela gonna bring a ton of information. Yeah. She showed. Yeah. Oh yeah. You on information overload with this. That's, that's a bad girl. And I also want to thank Angela. And then, you know,
My colleague, brother Keith Pierce. Didn't get no rape reviews about him. People was like, you got Keith. So what you going to bring him back? I was like, what? Yeah, people were texting me like, you know, Keith did a good job. You going to bring him something back? I went in one store and saw some Patagonia stuff. And I was like, I should get him some.
And then I remember, you know, it's Keith and I changed my mind. But I did. I saw all his favorite stuff when I was on the venue. Didn't buy none of it. Didn't buy none of it. He ain't gonna smile when I get back today and see him. But no, I got something for everybody. Look, the infamous as soon as I unpack, y'all will get y'all stuff. So all of that was cool. I spent my birthday driving yesterday because we drove to Martha's Vineyard. So LaKeisha and I drove back.
and we were on the road all day. My phone reception, I'm getting a new phone carrier today. T-Mobile is my phone carrier. 1,000% trash on the island. 1,000% couldn't make no calls. If somebody was trying to get me, I would have been in trouble. Just nothing.
Nothing couldn't hardly text couldn't hardly make calls. I'd have to like, you know do these rain dances and stand in the middle of an open field You know like I got a bar. I got a bar. I literally sounded like a crackhead. I was like, there's a bar. There's a bar. And so Yeah, I'm telling you man. I was about to put a little clothes hanging on my arm T-Mobile and I paid for the whole Cadillac plan the 5g everything
And it just must mean gone. That's what the G means. Your service is gone. You paying for nothing. And so I'm switching to AT&T as soon as I get off this air today. And y'all think I'm playing. My number going to be the same. But I'm switching. I can't do T-Mobile not another season. So Clark said, because yeah, I know you rested. I said, man, I got folks on my back soon as I get off this show. I owe people all kinds of stuff.
I just wanted to say that and then I will also say That even though like my birthday was just spent yesterday in the car driving got a bunch of well wishes Thank you to everybody I haven't had a chance to hit people back because some of them didn't start popping in until I got back, you know, like closer to Milwaukee When I started paying attention to my phone again because I had just gave up on my phone, you know, I threw it in the backseat I didn't even worry about it no more and then like I think when we hit
I don't know, maybe Gary. I, um, I got, yeah, just going to the act of the food. And I was like, okay. So for everybody that sent me birthday wishes, I wasn't ignoring you. I was, um, you know, just, just in a desert of lack of communication. What? Maybe that was the reason why your phone was not because the man was there by saying, you need some time to yourself. You know what? And it was cool.
I definitely not not taking no calls, not, you know, being able to be engaged. It had its challenges, but it definitely had an upside because I got to just, you know, focus and enjoy a little bit more. I will say by far hands down, the best thing that I did. I went to a fundraiser at a home on the vineyard for.
representative, state representative Justin Pearson down in Tennessee. He was one of the two Justin's. He was the one with the big Afro who wore the dashiki on the floor of the house. You remember him? And then they put him out of the legislature, him and the other Justin. So I was at a fundraiser for him and Angela Davis, the Angela Davis moderated the event.
So I'm sitting right across from Angela Davis Justin Pearson. I adore him young brother just amazing who is actually running for Congress Well, he won his primary. Yeah, 66% he he ran the score up like, you know, okay, bro You could have held back a little bit. No, he came for the head And so, you know now he's he's out the gates and running for the the general election
Did extremely well but to see Angela Davis and I just had seen her at UWM But you know I was way back. I was way way way way way way back at that event and To be up close and personal actually took a picture. I want to thank Sheree Dallas branch She was also on the vineyard with us and you know, she's like you don't get a picture and I was like I'm good
And she's like, okay, she's like, you don't get a picture. And I was like, you know what, let's see if we can. And the picture, I will treasure it forever. I will absolutely treasure it forever. The Afro is still nice. It's just silver. And that spirit and that fight is still the same. So I think of everything that I did, and I did a whole bunch, you know, on our last day, we driving down the street.
And Kisha said, there you go, uh, Jamal Brown. No, she said, there you go, your cousin. Cause she always called Jamal Brian, my cousin. She said, there you go, your cousin. And I was like, uh, I let the window down. I said, bitch. He looked over the window and his wife was with my son. What's up first lady? And they, hey, they all lead it in. Like, you know, so they was there cause he was preaching. He preached yesterday on the island. Uh, but.
you know, Otis Moss, I went to his service on Sunday. It was so packed I had to sit outside the church. They had put chairs outside and piped everything out. We could watch online. William Barber was on the island. Barack and Michelle had just got back yesterday when we were leaving and Spike Lee, Tay Diggs, like everybody named Daddy coming through because the film festival was starting
on the film festival started on Friday or Saturday. So it was a lot to do. I did a lot of political stuff while I was there. I actually went to a number of either fundraisers or discussions. HBCU presidents was on the island deep talking about the current state of historically black colleges and universities. I was super disappointed. The president of Alabama State was supposed to be there. He's a member of Omega Psi Phi.
My son was signed up to go to his panel discussion, but we had a number of people who had trouble getting on and off the island because of the weather. Judge Taylor was with us for a couple of days when she was supposed to leave. She couldn't get off the island, ended up having to be there an additional day and then, you know, doing all kinds of stuff to make sure she made it back to Milwaukee so she could get back to work.
I had a treacherous game of Uno. It's on video. I plan to put it on Facebook because I won. Well, let me be clear. It was two games. My grandson won the first game. Somebody needs to teach him how to be a good winner because he was all in everybody's face. Yeah, yeah, like, hey, hey.
Who are your parents? And then on the second UNO game, of course, I killed him and I see where my grandson gets his poor behavior in terms of winning because I when I went back and looked at the video, I was not proud of myself. But so it was a good trip. It was a great trip met a whole bunch of new people and then
On our last day, as we are leaving, we get ready to walk up the street into the restaurant. And we see some people in the restaurant window like, hey, Raven. I'm like, is that? Do I know the people? Are they from Milwaukee? I saw people from Milwaukee. I won't necessarily say their name. I'm sure people know they're there. But you know, sometimes you just be telling people business.
I want to tell everybody who's business. Hey, Tammy Belton. Who was it? Martha's video met her beautiful daughter who's a physician and the rest of the family. So yeah, we saw we saw a few folks from Milwaukee on the island. So it was just it was great. I'm thrilled to be back. So a lot of work that has to happen. I was keeping up with everything while I was gone in terms of the election.
in terms of, you know, the endorsement fest that's happening around candidates in the race. So I'm going to take a break. Caller, I see you if you can. I know you've been holding this whole time, but I will take you as soon as I come back and then we'll do some of these updates, talk about what folks need to understand in the last 24 some hour, some odd hours.
leading up to the big announcement tomorrow, when we figure out who will become the Democratic nominee for governor out of this primary, it is going to be interesting. I think my take on a couple of things are not going to sit well with a few people, but that is what it is. So, you know, it wouldn't be me if I didn't do it. How much is a lot of chicken? I don't even know. I don't know but I'm so much that they bought their tickets to shoot with last week. It's a shame. Yeah, everybody know don't buy your tickets in the hood. You're not going to win. I mean because they're not going to win. Even though we buy more tickets than everybody has. I know but they're not going to put it on for the kids. They're not, they're not, they're not going to put it on for the kids. We're not going to win in the hood. Unless you, unless you get lucky and pick your own. Because then if you pick your own. A look at the straw like oh wow, okay. Yeah.

She has radio on the whole time How do I forget that though, that's crazy Yep, tomorrow is election day It will be an incredible day for somebody It's a lot going on a lot of races uncontested, but there are a few contested races One in particular. I know I'm gonna talk about but let me just back up for a second. So I said that
You know, I wanted to take a little bit of time. I was keeping up with a lot of stuff that was going on back here at home in relationship to the election and just kind of watching things unfold. As of Friday, the Election Commission have reported that 234,000 people had voted early in person or either by mail.
That was by Friday. Now, for context in 2022, 295,000 people had already voted early in those top races for U.S. Senate. That's that race Mandela was in. Republican gubernatorial primary. So just kind of a comparison in terms of the numbers of the additional information I saw, I think that now roughly about 200
I think it was like 280 something thousand people have voted so far in early voting when it closed and So today there is no voting you can go vote tomorrow in person if you are not registered Wisconsin is one of the few states that you can register on the day of the election at the polls You need to bring ID proof of residency And you can go ahead and cast your ballot. It is a partisan primary
which means you will be voting either as a Democrat, as a Republican, or as a member of the other parties. I think Constitution and Green parties are also listed on the ballots, but that's what you will be doing. You won't be able to like, oh, I like Will Martin for Lieutenant Governor, but I like, you know, so and so for Governor. And that's a Democrat. You can't.
Split it that way you gonna stay in one particular track one lane you're voting Democrat you're voting Republican Constitution Green and whatever the fifth one is if we got another one on there So polls open at 7 a.m. Close at 8 p.m. And There is a lot of you know
Stuff coming your way about candidates and who's what and who you should be voting for This is that final pitch that final, you know push to be able to get folks to to turn out and So I got to take another break just because you know, this is election season so these commercials come fast and furious I got to take another break, but I want to tell you
Just some early thoughts about what I've seen so far in the election that I'm not a huge fan of. I'll be right back. All right, family, welcome back to the show. So I've been teasing this up for a few minutes now on the show talking about this election tomorrow. Again, to be clear, there are a number of things on your ballot. If you have not voted and you're not sure, please go to my vote dot W I dot gov put in your address.
Click that what's on my ballot tab and you'll be able to see absolutely everything that is on the ballot for this primary election getting us ready for November You will not see the referendums on the ballot the constitutional amendment changes
More specifically on the ballot, they won't be on the ballot until you go to vote in November. You've heard people talk about them. There are three. We'll talk more about it after this election, but don't look for those. They won't be on your ballot until November. OK, but. Right now on the early vote numbers, the two areas that have turned out the most people.
Shouldn't really be a surprise because they are the two biggest counties in the states 72 counties Dane County and Milwaukee County They've turned out 30% of all early and in-person voting up until this point. All right It's kind of interesting because The two leading contenders for this race are out of Dane County and Milwaukee County respectively Francesca Hong
Dan County, David Crawley, Milwaukee County. So it is interesting to kind of like, you know, understand how some of this stuff is going to fall out. We already know people who have already cast ballots for folks that may have exited the race, you know, they can't change those. It is what it is. I was just listening in some municipality. I got to go back and look and see where it was. A person who had actually withdrawn from the race.
Still ended up beating the person who stayed in the race More people voted for the person who got out of the race And so they ended up winning and I'll get that name Just so you know like this is crazy how stuff can work because I'm sure that person thought oh You know every I'm gonna win because the other person got out of the race No, the person who got out of the race received more votes. So One of the things that I've been doing
Because a lot of people say, hey, so what are you thinking? Who you putting your money on? And I've not said it. I said I like two candidates in the race. But I've not said anything. But one of the things I will say. So a lot of people that keep up with me, you may know that I write a weekly column for the Milwaukee Courier.
uh, on vacation was no exception. Uh, Romel is still like where my column at. So, you know, yeah. See nobody cared about you. Not having no reception, none of that. Where's my column? So I wrote my column and I want to share it with you because I think it sets up my, my, my remarks right now. The title of the column, Crawley support from lukewarm to doing the most.
As I pin this column on one vacation in Martha's Vineyard, let the nautical metaphors begin. Politics has always fascinated me because it reveals as much about the people standing behind the candidate as it does about the person standing at the podium. The Wisconsin governor's race is no exception. Not long ago, gubernatorial candidate
Milwaukee County Executive David Crawley was struggling to generate the kind of excitement that many believed his resume deserved. The energy was tepid, the endorsements trickled in, the fundraisers weren't exactly setting the political world on fire. His campaign felt like it was treading water and he made a decision to leave the race. Fast forward to today. Political winds shift, scandals emerge and his campaign
is thrown a life preserver. Now, Carly has become the great white, black, everything hope. He is the candidate many Democrats suddenly view as the firewall against a time Tiffany governorship. Endorsements are arriving, fundraisers are multiplying, and leaders who once seemed content to watch from the shores are racing to be seen at the next photo op. They've gone from lukewarm to doing the absolute most.
But David didn't suddenly gain more experience. He was already running Wisconsin's largest county. He already manages one of the state's largest public budgets and oversees thousands of investments. I'm sorry, thousands of employees. He already had experience navigating public health crises, infrastructure investments, public safety challenges, economic development and the day-to-day realities of executive leadership. None of that appeared overnight. So.
If he was qualified then, why are so many acting as though they just discovered him now? That's the part that frustrates me. There is a difference between believing in a candidate and believing in a candidate only after everyone else does.
One is conviction and the other is convenience. Wisconsin voters need to know the difference because if our political and community leaders only discover courage after the political winds change, then maybe they're not leading at all. That's not how movements are built. That's how opportunities are lost. Imagine what this race might have looked like if the enthusiasm we are witnessing today had shown up months ago.
Imagine if coalitions had been there from day one and publicly stood with him when his campaign needed them the most. Maybe the early uncertainty never would have materialized. Maybe a campaign that eventually had to suspend itself never reaches that point, but we'll never know. What I do know, however, is that this episode exposes something larger than one campaign.
It highlights a political culture where too many influential people wait for permission before they leave. They wait, I'm sorry, they want certainty before commitment, consensus before courage, yet the strongest political movements aren't built after everyone agrees. They're built because someone is willing to step forward before it is popular. When David Crawley wins or loses, there's a deeper lesson about us.
If we're constantly waiting until a candidate becomes the hot ticket before investing our political capital, financial resources, and time, then we're not shaping the future. We're simply reacting to it. Wisconsin deserves leaders who don't wait to see which way the tide is turning. They need leaders willing to chart the course, even when they're the first boat to leave the harbor. My point.
Why does this all look so different? Why does it and some people like why are you asking that now Michelle? Because it's bigger than this moment is bigger than tomorrow There will be people that will pat themselves on the back and be like oh if David is successful tomorrow We got him elected, but where was you in the beginning and some people were there? But nowhere near what we see right now that the boy had to suspend his race
But all of the stuff that everybody is in front of the camera and putting out they little love letters on social media about DC all of those things existed When he first announced So now I'm looking at everybody Oh, this is what I think and this is why and I'm like it don't mean nothing to me because when it needed to be said When he first was running the first time it wasn't said
He wasn't the most qualified. He wasn't the most executive leadership. He wasn't the the the end all be all After all of the chess pieces move on the board now we want to rally and it might be today. I'm late So my thing is if you support people and you like somebody do the work early
People like to hole a cards close to the vest. I'm looking you know, and I'm not saying be be irresponsible But make no mistake whether my candidate has a shot or not if this is who I like that's who I like and If this is who I support that's who I'm gonna support It's way too many people running to the front of the damn line now that what nowhere to be seen this boy had to cancel his
I mean, uh, suspend his campaign initially. It's the same dude. He the same guy. But now we got a whole David Crawley love fest. He was the same dude that had to suspend this campaign. And it wasn't a whole bunch of damn people sad when he suspended his campaign. They was like, God, that was messed up. Oh, you know, but.
I ain't say no love letters when he got out the race the first time. So all of that's frustrating to me. The other side of what's frustrating to me is the way people are going after Francesca Hall. It is fine to disagree on policy.
But there are people trying to link this girl to like oh, she she running with sexual predators or you know people doing you know things that's on toward sexually Like they've made her the antichrist and when I tell you I'm disappointed with the way Democratic leadership
is choosing to run this because what they are doing is all or nothing. It's all David Crawley or it's nothing. We're going to burn the house down. But if Francesca Hong emerges as the winner in tomorrow's primary, the Republicans don't never have to come up with a creative commercial at all.
All they gotta do is take all of the talking points of Democrats and run one loop after another loop after another loop from the governor on down. That's the part that's disgusting about politics because Francesca Hong has been serving her constituents well for a couple of terms now.
These people are trying to destroy this woman politically only because you disagree with her position Because you don't like you know her views on x y and z So I get to turn you into a demon I get to turn you into a child predator I get to turn you into the scum of the earth and these are other Democrats doing this to her
So this lady, if she's not successful, she still has to run for her assembly seat again if she chooses to serve. So you're not just trying to keep her from being the governor. You're doing damage that could keep her from getting elected again, even though she served well. And then the same people, if she is unsuccessful, got to look at her face
Back in the Capitol and in these meetings and stuff after you don't clown during talked about her like a dog because you don't like her policies I Can disagree with your policies and not turn you into a demon and an antichrist and try to make people think that you ride with folks that you know Sexually abused kids or you know sexually promiscuous
I can do all of that. I can talk about policy. And I don't like leaders who sit back on the sideline and just let that happen in my name. You know, I appreciated when John McCain stood up at that meeting when the lady was trying to say Barack Obama was a Muslim and Barack Obama didn't believe in Jesus, whatever the crazy lady said. And John McCain said, no.
We just disagree on policy, but he's a good man and I'm gonna just tell you I'm disappointed that DC is sitting back letting people drag Francesca in the name of helping him win a race to the point that is demonizing Tony evers you you could endorse David quality in the from the get-go, but you didn't
You was on the sideline now you hear and you hear with a venom and And the comments are divisive and nasty You can't lift your boy up without stopping somebody else into the ground This is the part about politics that people find so despicable
Because there are ways to run these races. That you don't do this kind of harm and damage that when the race is done, you cannot put this stuff back together. That's what Michigan is looking at right now. That's what New York had to figure out. And I'm going to say something else to Democrats, especially the old guard and the old school and the traditional Dems. I consider myself a traditional Dem.
But I'm also able to read a room. I'm able to pay attention. And trying to turn somebody that is a democratic socialist into the boogeyman is not the way you continue to protect and grow your party. Where is the common ground, if any? Because a lot of the issues.
are the issues, whether you are a traditional Democrat or you are progressive or a far, far left Democrat. The issues are the same. The approach is different. But it just is funny to me.
Because it's Democrats who put themselves on a high horse and think they better than Republicans and they better than other people because we're a big tent party and we encourage ideas and we support this and that until your ideas are not the ones I want publicly talked about. You know, it's Democrats that stop other people that are candidates that are running for office from getting an interview at a labor union to see if you could get union support.
Those are Democrats sitting around that table on them damn unions that sit there and say we're not even going to give you an interview. What do I say all the time? But if I don't interview your union employee fairly for a job that they want at our company, then you want to pick it and have a riot and act the fool. But when it comes to the way you run your union, you run it oftentimes unfairly because you don't give people equal access and equal opportunity.
You protect incumbents, you shut people out. So it's a lot of people that are looking at some of this and I keep trying to tell people subtly. You're not helping your candidate by bashing somebody and dogging somebody and trying to dig up all this dirt on people. Do stuff the right way. And I know.
People are like, Michelle can be so Polly Anish. You know, this is how it is. Look, I understand the game. I understand it. I don't say I know everything about it, but I understand many aspects of this game. But I do not like situations in which everybody now that's a part of the Democratic establishment wants to pile on and turn that girl into a villain. I don't like that.
And you can't do that in my name. I don't like it. People of color have a hard enough time as it is. Women have a hard enough time as it is. And these are your biggest constituency groups. So you don't think it's okay.
Just to come at me on policy, some of y'all are looking for personal ways to degrade this woman's character. I don't like that. You know Yeah, how many bills somebody got passed like I Was one of the first people to raise bills when Lena and Mandela was running and it was just because here you had somebody who had been in term I mean had had had two terms and had never successfully passed the bill going up against somebody who had passed over a hundred bills and When we talk about effectively serving
So that's why that was brought up Because I'm gonna go from somebody who hasn't produced to somebody who's trying to take out somebody who has not only produced they've exceeded the produced mark That's why bills was brought up in the Lena Mandela race But people trying to bring up bills right now Okay
I read somebody say she brought up, uh, Francesca Hong brought up to, I mean, uh, introduced 248 bills. None of them passed. I'm like, so first of all, let's look at most of the bills are not going to pass because of the type of, uh, Republican control legislature we have. When you look at the bills that did pass, you know, for like, I know they, one person, they, they mentioned Crawley's bills. What kind of bills were they? You know, cause some of these are no brainers. So.
It's all kinds of things that factor into why a bill will get passed or not passed. But if you got somebody that's got 248 up on the board, that tells me that's somebody that's working. That's somebody that's trying. And even though they know they may not get that bill heard in committee, even though they may not get that bill to the House floor for a vote, they're putting those issues in front of people. That's important.
So I'm looking at people like if you're gonna talk about it talk about it intelligently Don't just try to give me damn basketball scores Because on the other hand you'll have people who've introduced 19 bills you've been there for two years you've been there for four years You've actually only introduced your own your real own bills not bills you co-sponsored you hopped on somebody else's stuff somebody invited you to be a
a party on their bill, but that these were honest to God, your bills, yours. And you went out and did the work and found other people to get on them to move that bill across the finish line. You know, and so it's just, it's laughable to me. That's why I've tried not to say a whole lot, because people don't want to hear what I got to say, because it's going to be uncomfortable for everybody.
It's going to be uncomfortable. Because I said I was going to hold my peace, so I'm going to hold it. I said I was going to hold my peace, but I'm going to hold it. But see, people don't like the kind of questions I ask, because they don't want to answer them questions. And all I'm doing is asking questions.
I'm not making a judgment or decision. I'm asking questions and I need you to be able to answer those questions. But when they can't answer questions, what do they do? They go run and hide. They go to the other talk show. They over here, they over here, they over here. Because they don't like the type of questions you ask, which again to me indicates you ain't ready for prime time either. Your leadership is suspect too.
And so I just want y'all to pay attention over the course of these 24 hours. Who's who's been here and who has not? Who's been here and who has not? And then the question is, and why haven't you come? I'm just leave that hanging in the air.

Don't nobody really even want to know the name that we know.
But just like Barack, I mean Donald Trump used to love saying Barack Hussein Obama You remember how he was saying Barack Hussein Obama It was all for emphasis something's going on with those phone lines because I see cars keep coming and dropping. I've looked at his energy. You know, I've listened to him talk and his wife, who wears a hijab. There are folks that are trying to play on all of that.
You know, these are two very different Americas. And I guess for a lot of people in America, nobody is supposed to have a job on and be taken seriously or be able to hold a position of power and influence that your religion somehow, you know, disqualifies you from serving if it's not the preferred religion of mainstream of white folks. But.
If the way y'all, a lot of y'all practice Christianity is any indication of how you behave. You know, it's people like, why would we put Christians in office? Because some of y'all act real janky. Jesus don't know y'all. Jesus is embarrassed. God is embarrassed. Like, no, don't be out here representing me like that, because that ain't how I got down. Let me go to the phone line. I've talked to a lot of young people and I'm worried. What do you mean? Maybe I've been talking to the 2% that really the switch haven't been turned on yet.
But these were people that worked at offices and businesses. And all I said to them was, don't forget to vote. They said, now I'm not going to do that. It's already been locked and voted against us. I said, as long as you have that defeated attitude, you'll stay down. I said, if it wasn't important, they wouldn't be going through high hail and water to keep us from voting.
Think about that. And think about this. We're doing, we're getting older now. We're trying to pave a path that people paid for us. For you, your children. And your children's children. But if you have this kind of attitude, Lord help you. Really. You look at the candidates that are running.
You do your due diligence and check on it and see what do they mean to you? How are they going to benefit you? There is not going to be a black law that they come up with just for us. The laws that are made are for us and they should be. So we have a lot on the line.
And it's not on the balance of one thing. It's on the record. Look at the qualifications of the people. Look at what they have done. And for someone to say, oh, Grand Marshal retired a decade ago, why don't you tell that to those record old white men that had been in office five and six times?
And they're not using their brain to help the people. They're giving Donald Trump everything he needs. I don't understand what's going on in this country. But we better wake up. And the ones that can go up to Washington in August, just drifted their planet, get on that bus and go. But when you go, make sure you know who's in the crowd.
Now, I was proud of Madison and what they were doing. I was proud of the people that had businesses that were helping them. And then something switched. They started setting fires, blocking the people's businesses. You don't do that. How do you want somebody else to be better? And you're showing bad behavior. Let's get it together, people.
And that's right. Like Michelle said, these people are running around talking about their Christian. I bet you're different. You don't have a heaven or hell to put anyone in. That's God's business. And because you've changed your abortion laws and then your racist and then when the kids get grown, you cut all the plans away from us. We're doing everything to help Donald Trump and his family. And what is he doing for our social security?
What is he doing for health benefits for our people? You better start thinking about it. You got mothers, grandmothers, aunties. They're getting older. And this is not something we didn't work for. But then when you go to the book of Exodus and says, don't seek revenge, and it's already the revenge on people who didn't do nothing to them. So I think it's been some psychological warfare. But what I don't understand is why Francesca Hong didn't play devil's advocate.
So since they're gonna drag her if she wanted to play devil's advocate all she had to do is just speak about protection for white men Considering they stay popping up for pedophilia and zoo failure When you look at in Ohio and I believe Oklahoma, you know, they constantly raping people They won't go get it from nobody for free and it's probably a chicken whether the 10 dogs
to judge and say, well, we want to make sure you have a good life. I can't do it. Just speak up for the protection of white men or look at the migrants. How are you going to go in there and come out a single mother? You go in there, kid. It's now you're coming out with a child. And then if you go to the Bible, because, you know, they love two things they know how to do is be racist, force rape. It was the parents who's in there, the boys and girls that have been, of course, kill them, but keep the versions for yourself.
And then they feel it's a attack on white men because white women don't want to have no white men flood their vessel because they hump like jackrabbit. So all she had to do was just speak for the protection of white men, and they wouldn't have dragged her. Play devil's advocate. You know right now somebody just raped a little child and then took it from the dog too.
And now that's another dog that's going to have to be in the pen. Do you see any of these politicians in the sex offender list? Do you see how many databases and they send out any of their own children? How many of them going downtown, giving their name and all that? So she had to do is just play devil's advocate with white men and they would have put that would have pushed her all the way to the front because two things Republicans know how to do racism and forced rape. They won't go get a prostitute because they want to clean. Have a good day.

And there was a saying that I like listening to and that I read it all the time. Evil flourishes when good men do nothing. But him that sit back and watch them trying to Democrat, try to demonize this young lady. And she was forehead and the polls and him and anybody else.

Because we trying to get this us in a seat. What do we got to do? You don't go so hard in the paint in this process right here
that you just degrade a candidate, and you're not just degrading any candidate, you're degrading a candidate who has been leading in the polls since the polls have been taken. This is a person who got a real likelihood of winning tomorrow.
And because everybody want to do a full court press and you think oh no, we're gonna beat her up and drag her and and and you know Just muddier up really bloodier up really really bad But all of the polls if you believe in them Have consistently had her Leading I'm not saying DC can't win because we know that what 34% of the people
of that, you know, small group of folks that got interviewed, which is supposed to be representative of the broader country. I mean, the broader state are undecided voters. So everything is possible tomorrow. But understanding that everything is possible tomorrow, Democrats stop being so stupid and giving Republicans everything they go need to take out Francesca Hong because they can do it using your own words.
That's all I'm saying It's how you fight that makes a difference to me and that separates us from other people or at least it should But you know folks don't lost a mind and they think you could say and do anything you want to and that You're swaying voters. What you're doing in a lot of cases is pissing voters off Because they see y'all
I have said that now on at least three Facebook posts. We see you. People see you. They understand what you're doing. And this is not in the best interest of voters. This is your agenda and what you want for your candidate, whoever those candidates have been. I just don't like the way we do business sometimes.
It's many days. It makes you want to just walk away and throw your hands up and be like, I'm good. And then you wonder why people don't vote sometimes because they see how the people who do vote and who do participate in politics behave. What separates you from the rest of them?

Four days. And I look to see how many political mailers had come. So I'm in the 12th Assembly District. That was a seat formerly occupied by LaKeisha Myers, and now it is
occupied by Russell Goodwin and he has an opponent in that race, Jordan Roman, who has been to the show several times. I want to be clear in the history of me being on radio. I have never interviewed Russell Goodwin ever. Now, I don't know if he's been to the station, but I know he's never tried to get on this show to talk to listeners on on on my show.
So I was looking at the different campaign lit. I got some from Crawley I got some from Hong and I got some from Jordan Roman who's running and You know, you think you know it all, you know, like hey, I know these people I've seen it, but I still read the lit. I still I'm interested in what people have to say
How how you, you know, put the information out there. And so in Jordan, Romans peace. And again, this is the 12th assembly district. Some I said to be clear, a number of the negative Hong ads are coming from Republican back groups to be clear. It's about equal to be clear because the Democrats is going hell out they way to to destroy this girl.
So Jordan Roman did this little side-by-side little checklist. So for himself, and let me be clear, he didn't put this out. This was put out by a PAC, a political action committee called Fight for Our Rights, okay? It is not done in coordination with the candidate. Candidate has nothing to do with it, but people will put Lit out on their behalf. So on the Lit,
They say Jordan Roman fighting for good paying jobs, safety in our neighborhoods, high quality education, earn the support of community leaders, organizers and neighbors, deliberate results for our communities across nonprofit, private and public sectors. Vote for Jordan Roman. Then on the other side, it says Russell Goodwin needs improvement. Vote it with Republicans four times to support conservative special interest agenda.
I knew that. Sponsored legislation with Republicans that would create a less safe environment for the health of Wisconsin students. I was aware of that. But they got me on the bottom one. I didn't know this. That Russell Goodwin had run as a Republican for the state assembly before. And I was like, wait, say what? What? What? What are you talking about? So at the organization.
during their due diligence, they put where you could find that Russell Goodwin had in fact run as a Republican originally. So I went to look it up. And so he ran for assembly like a while ago. I think it was like 2014 or something before Laquisha ran. He ran for assembly and he was running against Fred Kessler.
and he ran as a Republican. I was like, say what? And of course he runs for other stuff and, you know, half the time, can't never figure out how to count so he can get his name on the ballot appropriately. But you just can't never assume, you know, everything messes me up that he had ran as a Republican. And you know, he a pastor, right?
So, I was like, well, when did you find your, your, your, your, your come to Jesus moment that you switched from being a Republican candidate to being a Democrat? It actually happened shortly thereafter. So, but then when you see the voting tendencies, you like, so are you a closet Republican? And you just ran as a Democrat because of the side of town you live on. Like.
I don't know. But when I say they got me with this piece of lit or they got me last night, I literally my mouth was wide. I'm like, this boy ran as a Republican. When? Child. Some of the worst in school in the world. Okay. I was just wanting that people, you know, have where they ain't got to be from the school board. It can be from to us or John or whatever. And you know, some good schools that anybody have any good schools that have openings for like, I'm just gonna put me in Pacific for like a middle school. Okay. That's the real smart. You know, and I just
You know where they got all this mess going on. No, that's why and I have already been having some of those conversations in the background. So it's ironic that you brought this up because we were looking at a situation where potentially we had some nephews that were going to be coming to town and go on to school here and you know.
Before you could say easily. Oh Samuel Morris is a good middle school and so and so is a good middle school But you know, it's getting harder to know which schools there are and you know, half of them are not on the north side So this time this topic is timely. Down at this area called the inkwell, this is like an 80-year tradition now.
A group of black women went down to go do morning exercise,
get in the water like about seven o'clock, seven thirty.
And then they started inviting other people and other people saw them and wanted to participate.
So it has become a longstanding tradition that seven days a week you can find.
This group of black folks and now other folks come it's not exclusively black, but it's predominantly black of black folks who are in the water doing morning meditation do a morning exercise stretching Just communing with nature and it is
It is definitely one of the prettiest things I've ever seen.
But I never do it because usually if I'm in Martha's Vineyard, I'm doing my show.
So I'm on the air at the time, but LaQuisha always gets up and goes.
But I'm on the air at the time that it's happening.
And so because I wasn't able to do the show.

and we were on the road all day.

T-Mobile is my phone carrier.
1,000% trash on the island.
1,000% couldn't make no calls.
If somebody was trying to get me, I would have been in trouble.
Just nothing.
Nothing couldn't hardly text couldn't hardly make calls.
I'd have to like, you know do these rain dances and stand in the middle of an open field You know like I got a bar.

And it was cool.
I definitely not not taking no calls, not, you know, being able to be engaged.
It had its challenges, but it definitely had an upside because I got to just, you know, focus and enjoy a little bit more.
I will say by far hands down, the best thing that I did.
I went to a fundraiser at a home on the vineyard for.
representative, state representative Justin Pearson down in Tennessee.
He was one of the two Justin's.
He was the one with the big Afro who wore the dashiki on the floor of the house.
You remember him?
And then they put him out of the legislature, him and the other Justin.
So I was at a fundraiser for him and Angela Davis, the Angela Davis moderated the event.
So I'm sitting right across from Angela Davis Justin Pearson.
I adore him young brother just amazing who is actually running for Congress Well, he won his primary.
Yeah, 66% he he ran the score up like, you know, okay, bro You could have held back a little bit.
No, he came for the head And so, you know now he's he's out the gates and running for the the general election
Did extremely well but to see Angela Davis and I just had seen her at UWM But you know, I was way back.
I was way way way way way way back at that event and To be up close and personal actually took a picture.
I want to thank Sheree Dallas branch She was also on the vineyard with us and you know, she's like you don't get a picture and I was like I'm good
And she's like, okay, she's like, you don't get a picture.
And I was like, you know what, let's see if we can.
And the picture, I will treasure it forever.

And that spirit and that fight is still the same.
So I think of everything that I did, and I did a whole bunch, you know, on our last day, we driving down the street.

And I was like, uh, I let the window down.

He looked over the window and his wife was with my son.

He preached yesterday on the island.

you know, Otis Moss, I went to his service on Sunday.
It was so packed I had to sit outside the church.
They had put chairs outside and piped everything out.

Barack and Michelle had just got back yesterday when we were leaving and Spike Lee, Tay Diggs, like everybody named Daddy coming through because the film festival was starting
on the film festival started on Friday or Saturday.
So it was a lot to do.
I did a lot of political stuff while I was there.
I actually went to a number of either fundraisers or discussions.
HBCU presidents was on the island deep talking about the current state of historically black colleges and universities.
I was super disappointed.
The president of Alabama State was supposed to be there.
He's a member of Omega Psi Phi.
My son was signed up to go to his panel discussion, but we had a number of people who had trouble getting on and off the island because of the weather.
Judge Taylor was with us for a couple of days when she was supposed to leave.
She couldn't get off the island, ended up having to be there an additional day and then, you know, doing all kinds of stuff to make sure she made it back to Milwaukee so she could get back to work.
I had a treacherous game of Uno.
It's on video.
I plan to put it on Facebook because I won.
Well, let me be clear.
It was two games.
My grandson won the first game.
Somebody needs to teach him how to be a good winner because he was all in everybody's face.
Yeah, yeah, like, hey, hey.
Who are your parents?
And then on the second UNO game, of course, I killed him and I see where my grandson gets his poor behavior in terms of winning because when I went back and looked at the video, I was not proud of myself.
But so it was a good trip.
It was a great trip, met a whole bunch of new people, and then
On our last day, as we are leaving, we get ready to walk up the street into the restaurant.
And we see some people in the restaurant window like, hey, Raven.
I'm like, is that?
Do I know the people?
Are they from Milwaukee?
I saw people from Milwaukee.
I won't necessarily say their name.
I'm sure people know they're there.
But you know, sometimes you just be telling people business.

So yeah, we saw we saw a few folks from Milwaukee on the island.
So it was just it was great.

in terms of, you know, the endorsement fest that's happening around candidates in the race.

She has radio on the whole time How do I forget that though, that's crazy Yep, tomorrow is election day It will be an incredible day for somebody It's a lot going on a lot of races uncontested, but there are a few contested races One in particular.
I know I'm gonna talk about but let me just back up for a second.
So I said that
You know, I wanted to take a little bit of time.
I was keeping up with a lot of stuff that was going on back here at home in relationship to the election and just kind of watching things unfold.
As of Friday, the Election Commission have reported that 234,000 people had voted early in person or either by mail.
That was by Friday now for context in 2022 295,000 people had already voted early in those top races for US Senate.
That's that race Mandela was in Republican gubernatorial primary.
So just kind of a comparison in terms of the numbers of the additional information I saw.
I think they're now roughly about 200.
I think it was like 280 something thousand people have voted so far in early voting when it closed and So today there is no voting you can go vote tomorrow in person if you are not registered Wisconsin is one of the few states that you can register on the day of the election at the polls You need to bring ID proof of residency And you can go ahead and cast your ballot.
It is a partisan primary
which means you will be voting either as a Democrat, as a Republican, or as a member of the other parties.
I think Constitution and Green parties are also listed on the ballots, but that's what you will be doing.
You won't be able to like, oh, I like Will Martin for Lieutenant Governor, but I like, you know, so and so for Governor.
And that's a Democrat.
You can't.
Split it that way you gonna stay in one particular track one lane you're voting Democrat you're voting Republican Constitution Green and whatever the fifth one is if we got another one on there So polls open at 7 a.m.
Close at 8 p.m.
And There is a lot of you know
Stuff coming your way about candidates and who's what and who you should be voting for This is that final pitch that final, you know push to be able to get folks to to turn out and So I got to take another break just because you know, this is election season so these commercials come fast and furious I got to take another break, but I want to tell you
Just some early thoughts about what I've seen so far in the election that I'm not a huge fan of.

So I've been teasing this up for a few minutes now on the show talking about this election tomorrow.
Again, to be clear, there are a number of things on your ballot.
If you have not voted and you're not sure, please go to my vote dot W I dot gov put in your address.
Click that what's on my ballot tab and you'll be able to see absolutely everything that is on the ballot for this primary election getting us ready for November You will not see the referendums on the ballot the constitutional amendment changes
More specifically on the ballot, they won't be on the ballot until you go to vote in November.
You've heard people talk about them.
There are three.
We'll talk more about it after this election, but don't look for those.
They won't be on your ballot until November.
OK, but.
Right now on the early vote numbers, the two areas that have turned out the most people.
shouldn't really be a surprise because they are the two biggest counties in the state's 72 counties, Dane County and Milwaukee County.
They've turned out 30% of all early and in-person voting up until this point, all right?
It's kind of interesting because the two leading contenders for this race are out of Dane County and Milwaukee County respectively.
Francesca Hong.
Dan County, David Crawley, Milwaukee County.
So it is interesting to kind of like, you know, understand how some of this stuff is going to fall out.
We already know people who have already cast ballots for folks that may have exited the race, you know, they can't change those.
It is what it is.
I was just listening in some municipality.
I got to go back and look and see where it was.
A person who had actually withdrawn from the race.
Still ended up beating the person who stayed in the race More people voted for the person who got out of the race And so they ended up winning and I'll get that name Just so you know like this is crazy how stuff can work because I'm sure that person thought oh You know every I'm gonna win because the other person got out of the race No, the person who got out of the race received more votes.
So One of the things that I've been doing
Because a lot of people say, hey, so what are you thinking?
Who you putting your money on?
And I've not said it.
I said I like two candidates in the race.
But I've not said anything.
But one of the things I will say.
So a lot of people that keep up with me, you may know that I write a weekly column for the Milwaukee Courier.
uh, on vacation was no exception.
Uh, Romel is still like where my column at.
So, you know, yeah.
See nobody cared about you.
Not having no reception, none of that.
Where's my column?
So I wrote my column and I want to share it with you because I think it sets up my, my, my remarks right now.
The title of the column, Crawley support from lukewarm to doing the most.
As I pin this column on one vacation in Martha's Vineyard, let the nautical metaphors begin.
Politics has always fascinated me because it reveals as much about the people standing behind the candidate as it does about the person standing at the podium.
The Wisconsin governor's race is no exception.
Not long ago, gubernatorial candidate
Milwaukee County Executive David Crawley was struggling to generate the kind of excitement that many believed his resume deserved.
The energy was tepid, the endorsements trickled in, the fundraisers weren't exactly setting the political world on fire.
His campaign felt like it was treading water and he made a decision to leave the race.
Fast forward to today.
Political winds shift, scandals emerge and his campaign
is thrown a life preserver.
Now, Carly has become the great white, black, everything hope.
He is the candidate many Democrats suddenly view as the firewall against a time Tiffany governorship.
Endorsements are arriving, fundraisers are multiplying, and leaders who once seemed content to watch from the shores are racing to be seen at the next photo op.
They've gone from lukewarm to doing the absolute most.
But David didn't suddenly gain more experience.
He was already running Wisconsin's largest county.
He already manages one of the state's largest public budgets and oversees thousands of investments.
I'm sorry, thousands of employees.
He already had experience navigating public health crises, infrastructure investments, public safety challenges, economic development and the day-to-day realities of executive leadership.
None of that appeared overnight.
So.
If he was qualified then, why are so many acting as though they just discovered him now?
That's the part that frustrates me.
There is a difference between believing in a candidate and believing in a candidate only after everyone else does.
One is conviction and the other is convenience.
Wisconsin voters need to know the difference because if our political and community leaders only discover courage after the political winds change, then maybe they're not leading at all.
That's not how movements are built.
That's how opportunities are lost.
Imagine what this race might have looked like if the enthusiasm we are witnessing today had shown up months ago.
Imagine if coalitions had been there from day one and publicly stood with him when his campaign needed them the most.
Maybe the early uncertainty never would have materialized.
Maybe a campaign that eventually had to suspend itself never reaches that point, but we'll never know.
What I do know, however, is that this episode exposes something larger than one campaign.
It highlights a political culture where too many influential people wait for permission before they leave.
They wait, I'm sorry, they want certainty before commitment, consensus before courage, yet the strongest political movements aren't built after everyone agrees.
They're built because someone is willing to step forward before it is popular.
When David Crawley wins or loses, there's a deeper lesson about us.
If we're constantly waiting until a candidate becomes the hot ticket before investing our political capital, financial resources, and time, then we're not shaping the future.
We're simply reacting to it.
Wisconsin deserves leaders who don't wait to see which way the tide is turning.
They need leaders willing to chart the course, even when they're the first boat to leave the harbor.
My point.
Why does this all look so different?
Why does it and some people like why are you asking that now Michelle?
Because it's bigger than this moment is bigger than tomorrow There will be people that will pat themselves on the back and be like oh if David is successful tomorrow We got him elected, but where was you in the beginning and some people were there?
But nowhere near what we see right now that the boy had to suspend his race
But all of the stuff that everybody is in front of the camera and putting out they little love letters on social media about DC all of those things existed When he first announced So now I'm looking at everybody Oh, this is what I think and this is why and I'm like it don't mean nothing to me because when it needed to be said When he first was running the first time it wasn't said
He wasn't the most qualified.
He wasn't the most executive leadership.
He wasn't the the the end all be all After all of the chess pieces move on the board now we want to rally and it might be today.
I'm late So my thing is if you support people and you like somebody do the work early
People like to hole a cards close to the vest.
I'm looking you know, and I'm not saying be be irresponsible But make no mistake whether my candidate has a shot or not if this is who I like that's who I like and If this is who I support that's who I'm gonna support It's way too many people running to the front of the damn line now that what nowhere to be seen this boy had to cancel his
I mean, uh, suspend his campaign initially.
It's the same dude.
He the same guy.
But now we got a whole David Crawley love fest.
He was the same dude that had to suspend this campaign.
And it wasn't a whole bunch of damn people sad when he suspended his campaign.
They was like, God, that was messed up.
Oh, you know, but.
I ain't say no love letters when he got out the race the first time.
So all of that's frustrating to me.
The other side of what's frustrating to me is the way people are going after Francesca Hall.
It is fine to disagree on policy.
But there are people trying to link this girl to like oh she she running with sexual predators or you know people doing you know things that's on toward sexually Like they've made her the antichrist and when I tell you I'm disappointing with the way Democratic leadership
is choosing to run this because what they are doing is all or nothing.
It's all David Crawley or it's nothing.
We're going to burn the house down.
But if Francesca Hong emerges as the winner in tomorrow's primary, the Republicans don't never have to come up with a creative commercial at all.
All they gotta do is take all of the talking points of Democrats and run one loop after another loop after another loop from the governor on down.
That's the part that's disgusting about politics because Francesca Hong has been serving her constituents well for a couple of terms now.
These people are trying to destroy this woman politically only because you disagree with her position Because you don't like you know her views on x y and z So I get to turn you into a demon I get to turn you into a child predator I get to turn you into the scum of the earth and these are other Democrats doing this to her
So this lady, if she's not successful, she still has to run for her assembly seat again if she chooses to serve.
So you're not just trying to keep her from being the governor.
You're doing damage that could keep her from getting elected again, even though she served well.
And then the same people, if she is unsuccessful, got to look at her face
Back in the Capitol and in these meetings and stuff after you don't clown during talked about her like a dog because you don't like her policies I Can disagree with your policies and not turn you into a demon and an antichrist and try to make people think that you ride with folks that you know Sexually abused kids or you know sexually promiscuous
I can do all of that.
I can talk about policy.
And I don't like leaders who sit back on the sideline and just let that happen in my name.
You know, I appreciated when John McCain stood up at that meeting when the lady was trying to say Barack Obama was a Muslim and Barack Obama didn't believe in Jesus, whatever the crazy lady said.
And John McCain said, no.
We just disagree on policy, but he's a good man and I'm gonna just tell you I'm disappointed that DC is sitting back letting people drag Francesca in the name of helping him win a race to the point that is demonizing Tony evers you you could endorse David quality in the from the get-go, but you didn't
You was on the sideline now you hear and you hear with a venom and And the comments are divisive and nasty You can't lift your boy up without stopping somebody else into the ground This is the part about politics that people find so despicable
Because there are ways to run these races.
That you don't do this kind of harm and damage that when the race is done, you cannot put this stuff back together.
That's what Michigan is looking at right now.
That's what New York had to figure out.
And I'm going to say something else to Democrats, especially the old guard and the old school and the traditional Dems.
I consider myself a traditional Dem.
But I'm also able to read a room.
I'm able to pay attention.
And trying to turn somebody that is a democratic socialist into the boogeyman is not the way you continue to protect and grow your party.
Where is the common ground, if any?
Because a lot of the issues.
are the issues, whether you are a traditional Democrat or you are progressive or a far, far left Democrat.
The issues are the same.
The approach is different.
But it just is funny to me.
Because it's Democrats who put themselves on a high horse and think they better than Republicans and they better than other people because we're a big tent party and we encourage ideas and we support this and that until your ideas are not the ones I want publicly talked about.
You know, it's Democrats that stop other people that are candidates that are running for office from getting an interview at a labor union to see if you could get union support.
Those are Democrats sitting around that table on them damn unions that sit there and say we're not even going to give you an interview.
What do I say all the time?
But if I don't interview your union employee fairly for a job that they want at our company, then you want to pick it and have a riot and act the fool.
But when it comes to the way you run your union, you run it oftentimes unfairly because you don't give people equal access and equal opportunity.
You protect incumbents.
You shut people out.
So it's a lot of people that are looking at some of this and I keep trying to tell people subtly.
You're not helping your candidate by bashing somebody and dogging somebody and trying to dig up all this dirt on people.
Do stuff the right way.
And I know.
People are like, Michelle can be so Polly Anish.
You know, this is how it is.
Look, I understand the game.
I understand it.
I don't say I know everything about it, but I understand many aspects of this game.
But I do not like situations in which everybody now that's a part of the Democratic establishment wants to pile on and turn that girl into a villain.
I don't like that.
And you can't do that in my name.
I don't like it.
People of color have a hard enough time as it is.

But I'm just watching people who walk around with, you know, with D on their chest and a super cap on thinking they to protect the revoltings fair and just and, you know, just these liberal bastions of
You know, etiquette and this is how you supposed to have and then they acting like such jerks whether it was to support David Crawley or to support Sarah Rodriguez or to support Mandela Barnes or whoever their person was in the race the things that they're doing is saying online and you know, and then I'm like, I just got to be honest too.
I'm watching people who like chiming in.
You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
You don't understand politics, not nearing they at all.
And it's just crazy to listen to them.
You know Yeah, how many bills somebody got passed like I Was one of the first people to raise bills when Lena and Mandela was running and it was just because here you had somebody who had been in term I mean had had two terms and had never successfully passed the bill going up against somebody who had passed over a hundred bills and When we talk about effectively serving
So that's why that was brought up because I'm gonna go from somebody who hasn't produced to somebody who's trying to take out somebody who has not only produced they've exceeded the produced mark That's why bills was brought up in the Lena Mandela race But people trying to bring up bills right now Okay
I read somebody say she brought up, uh, Francesca Hong brought up to, I mean, uh, introduced 248 bills.
None of them passed.
I'm like, so first of all, let's look at most of the bills are not going to pass because of the type of, uh, Republican control legislature we have.
When you look at the bills that did pass, you know, for like, I know they, one person, they, they mentioned Crawley's bills.
What kind of bills were they?
You know, cause some of these are no brainers.
So.
It's all kinds of things that factor into why a bill will get passed or not passed.
But if you got somebody that's got 248 up on the board, that tells me that's somebody that's working.
That's somebody that's trying.
And even though they know they may not get that bill heard in committee, even though they may not get that bill to the House floor for a vote, they're putting those issues in front of people.
That's important.
So I'm looking at people like if you're gonna talk about it talk about it intelligently Don't just try to give me damn basketball scores Because on the other hand you'll have people who've introduced 19 bills you've been there for two years you've been there for four years You've actually only introduced your own your real own bills not bills you co-sponsored you hopped on somebody else's stuff somebody invited you to be a
a party on their bill, but that these were honest to God, your bills, yours.
And you went out and did the work and found other people to get on them to move that bill across the finish line.
You know, and so it's just, it's laughable to me.
That's why I've tried not to say a whole lot, because people don't want to hear what I got to say, because it's going to be uncomfortable for everybody.
It's going to be uncomfortable.
Because I said I was going to hold my peace, so I'm going to hold it.

There are folks that are trying to play on all of that.
You know, these are two very different Americas.
And I guess for a lot of people in America, nobody is supposed to have a job on and be taken seriously or be able to hold a position of power and influence that your religion somehow, you know, disqualifies you from serving if it's not the preferred religion of mainstream of white folks.
But.
If the way y'all, a lot of y'all practice Christianity is any indication of how you behave.
You know, it's people like, why would we put Christians in office?
Because some of y'all act real janky.

You do your due diligence and check on it and see what do they mean to you?
How are they going to benefit you?
There is not going to be a black law that they come up with just for us.
The laws that are made are for us and they should be.
So we have a lot on the line.
And it's not on the balance of one thing.
It's on the record.
Look at the qualifications of the people.
Look at what they have done.
And for someone to say, oh, Grand Marshal retired a decade ago, why don't you tell that to those record old white men that had been in office five and six times?
And they're not using their brain to help the people.
They're giving Donald Trump everything he needs.
I don't understand what's going on in this country.
But we better wake up.
And the ones that can go up to Washington in August, just drifted their planet, get on that bus and go.
But when you go, make sure you know who's in the crowd.
Now, I was proud of Madison and what they were doing.
I was proud of the people that had businesses that were helping them.
And then something switched.
They started setting fires, blocking the people's businesses.
You don't do that.
How do you want somebody else to be better?
And you're showing bad behavior.

to judge and say, well, we want to make sure you have a good life.

Just speak up for the protection of white men or look at the migrants.
How are you going to go in there and come out a single mother?
You go in there, kid.

of that, you know, small group of folks that got interviewed, which is supposed to be representative of the broader country.
I mean, the broader state are undecided voters.
So everything is possible tomorrow.
But understanding that everything is possible tomorrow, Democrats stop being so stupid and giving Republicans everything they go need to take out Francesca Hong because they can do it using your own words.
That's all I'm saying It's how you fight that makes a difference to me and that separates us from other people or at least it should But you know folks don't lost a mind and they think you could say and do anything you want to and that You're swaying voters.
What you're doing in a lot of cases is pissing voters off Because they see y'all

And I look to see how many political mailers had come.
So I'm in the 12th Assembly District.
That was a seat formerly occupied by LaKeisha Myers, and now it is
occupied by Russell Goodwin and he has an opponent in that race, Jordan Roman, who has been to the show several times.
I want to be clear in the history of me being on radio.
I have never interviewed Russell Goodwin ever.
Now I don't know if he's been to the station, but I know he's never tried to get on this show to talk to listeners on on on my show.
So I was looking at the different campaign lit.
I got some from Crawley I got some from Hong and I got some from Jordan Roman who's running and You know, you think you know it all, you know, like hey, I know these people I've seen it, but I still read the lit.
I still I'm interested in what people have to say
How how you, you know, put the information out there.
And so in Jordan, Romans peace.
And again, this is the 12th assembly district.
Some I said to be clear, a number of the negative Hong ads are coming from Republican back groups to be clear.
It's about equal to be clear because the Democrats is going hell out they way to to destroy this girl.
So Jordan Roman did this little side-by-side little checklist.
So for himself, and let me be clear, he didn't put this out.
This was put out by a PAC, a political action committee called Fight for Our Rights, okay?
It is not done in coordination with the candidate.
Candidate has nothing to do with it, but people will put Lit out on their behalf.
So on the Lit,
They say Jordan Roman fighting for good paying jobs, safety in our neighborhoods, high quality education, earn the support of community leaders, organizers and neighbors, deliberate results for our communities across nonprofit, private and public sectors.
Vote for Jordan Roman.
Then on the other side, it says Russell Goodwin needs improvement.
Vote it with Republicans four times to support conservative special interest agenda.
I knew that.
Sponsored legislation with Republicans that would create a less safe environment for the health of Wisconsin students.
I was aware of that.
But they got me on the bottom one.
I didn't know this.
That Russell Goodwin had run as a Republican for the state assembly before.
And I was like, wait, say what?
What?
What?
What are you talking about?
So at the organization.
during their due diligence, they put where you could find that Russell Goodwin had in fact run as a Republican originally.
So I went to look it up.
And so he ran for assembly like a while ago.
I think it was like 2014 or something before Laquisha ran.
He ran for assembly and he was running against Fred Kessler.
and he ran as a Republican.
I was like, say what?
And of course he runs for other stuff and, you know, half the time, can't never figure out how to count so he can get his name on the ballot appropriately.
But you just can't never assume, you know, everything messes me up that he had ran as a Republican.
And you know, he a pastor, right?
So I was like, well, when did you find your your your your come to Jesus moment?
That you switch from being a Republican candidate to being a Democrat it actually happened shortly thereafter So but then when you see the voting tendencies You like so are you a closet?
And you just ran as a Democrat because of the side of town you live on like
I don't know.
But when I say they got me with this piece of lit or they got me last night, I literally my mouth was wide.
I'm like, this boy ran as a Republican.
