It's so important to remember our whys.

Hi, this is Julie at State Farm.

When Ryan and I chose to start Julie Karen State Farm.

It came from meeting people who had no idea what their insurance actually covered.

They just bought the cheapest thing they could find and hoped they'd never need it.

And then when they did need it, they were completely blindsided.

We wanted to do our part to fix that.

We wanted to build an agency where education comes before the sale.

Where we sit down with someone and actually explain what they have, that they could be missing, and why each coverage is important.

Like a good neighbor.

State Farm is there.

Right on the corner, it will be 920.

We're at 75 degrees time right now for Phil Neeseblog.

One

Phil Nee

of the few things that I excelled at in school was when we discussed current events.

Mr. Stoddard used to play a game in social studies called Newscope Quiz.

When we chose teams, that was the rare instance when I was not the last kid picked.

The reason was I was listening to the radio all the time, and the news was a necessary thing for me to hear my favorite song, so I would sit through that on the glorious AM radio in the barn.

While I was listening, the radio was giving every animal a name.

Some of my buddies included Speckle Pete the rooster.

It was a love-hate relationship.

Stubby the duck.

The poor guy frostbite his feet one winter.

Tiger Puss the Tomcat.

Sandy the cow dog.

All of my bovine friends, including Lady Bell, Cripply Dipply, Melky Moo, Badger, Bunteroo, and Nido Nice Cow, the animals seemed to put up with me as the radio played, and there was a doorway in front of one side of the stanchions where I imagined I was on the Broadway stage, and the cows would stare at me.

They were my audience.

I've gotta be me.

I've gotta be me.

This weekend in 1966, the Barn Radio was playing tunes such as Summer in the City by the Lovin' Spoonful, Dirty Water from the Standells, Ain't Too Proud to Beg the Temptations, Wild Thing the Trogs, Over Under's Sideways Down the Yardbirds, Paperback Rider the Beatles, Red Rubber Ball by the Circle, Wouldn't Be Nice by the Beach Boys, and Sugar and Spice by the Cryin' Shames.

I'll be playing all the tunes that we play, all of Top Radio's greatest hits from The Hater,

the 50s through the early 90s.
