Friday.

Get cast today at J.G.

Wall Steuler's Downtown Version Center.

It's so important to remember our whys.

Hi, this is Julie at State Farm.

When Ryan and I chose to start Julie Karen State Farm, it came from meeting people who had no idea what their insurance actually covered.

They just bought the cheapest thing they could find and hoped they'd never need it.

And then when they did need it, they were completely blindsided.

We wanted to do our part to fix that.

We wanted to build an agency where education comes before the sale, where we sit down with someone and actually explain what they have, what they could be missing,

and why each coverage is important.

Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.

Hey, welcome to Prime Mover.

The phone line is open at 608-647-4155.

I'd like to thank Bo Hendricks for sitting in behind the old microphone here in Prime Mover Studios the last couple of weeks.

Phil Nee

Phil Nee's blog.

In the summer of 1983, I was working as a farmhand, part-time mobile DJ, all-star slow-pitched softball right-fielder for hire, part-time community theater actor, and eligible bachelorette extraordinaire.

As I remember, it was very warm that year when I hear Electric Avenue by Eddie Grant.

It takes me back to a hot night in Madison.

You could hear the song playing like from every car with their windows down, heading down the street.

I did not grow up wearing shorts unless it was for a workout or a sports practice.

There were not a lot of stylish shorts for farm boys who were worried about looking geeky.

Shorts were not smart to wear during hay making, so my legs look like

somebody spilled a pail of vanilla ice cream on them.

I'm pretty sure though, walking around in the city of Madison wearing new blue jeans in 90 degree heat, that looked a little bit nerdy as well.

Going to the mall was the thing to do in the 80s.

Every shopping facility had a record store, Spencer's Noveli gifts, Cinnabon, a food court, an arcade, Radio Shack, and Buddy Squirrel's Nut Shop.

I could spend a whole day and night just wandering around the mall.

My friends, who are also wearing tight pants on hot days and nights, would loiter and watch the beautiful young ladies walking with goofy looking guys.

We would wonder what she saw in that fellow.

In later years, when I actually got a date, I realized that other fellows were wondering that about me and my gal.

Reminds me of a song by Joe

Jackson.

The Southwest Wisconsin Coaches League end of the year tournament is being held in Richland Center through today.

Games earlier this week, Richland Center defeated Lancaster 8-1 and Ithaca fell to Mineral Point 6-1.

Richland Center gets back into action today against Mineral Point at 11 a.m.

The league championship game is scheduled to be played today at 3 p.m.

The Wisconsin High School Football Coaches Association All-Star Football Games are being played this weekend

at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh.

The eight-player football game took place Friday.

The eight-man All-Star roster south team includes locally Colin Jacobus of North Crawford, Bryce Schultz DeSoto, Gavin Tamling, North Crawford, and Kaden Washa of Highland.

Local coaches Ev Wick and Nick Mooney both from DeSoto.

The final from last night's game, the South beat the North 22 to 18.

Caden Wascha of Highland scored the first touchdown for the South.

Turning to 11 player football, the State Small School All-Stars will kick off at noon today and the Large School All-Stars play at 4 p.m.

Richland Center will be represented on the Small School All-Stars South team.

Liam Fingerson and Brady Dosh, both members of the RCHS class of 2026, will play in the game.

Blake Burkle and Jordan Gawker will represent River Valley.

Andrew Troxel, head coach of Richland Center Football, will be the head coach of the All-Star South team.

Dave Darling and Chris Clarkin, who are assisting coaches for the Hornets, are also on the staff for today's game.

Coach Troxel is looking forward to that game.

What will be really neat about this is this will be probably the largest crowd any of these kids have ever played in front of.

And so the WFCA wants to make sure that there's a lot of representation.

And again, a lot of the proceeds that come out of that go towards Children's Wisconsin as well.

So tickets should be available at the door.

I think we may have a handful of free tickets still left.

So if anybody's interested, just reach out to.

to us or to me and we'll see what we can do.

But we would love to have a lot of, you know, Southwest Wisconsin SWC and especially Richland center representation at this all start game.

Phil Nee

Do you know if this is broadcast televised or anything?

Yep, it'll be broadcast.

I haven't got the link yet.

I believe it's from Zelensky sports.

They're probably big in Northern Wisconsin.

And so we'll have that link and we'll share it out on a lot of platforms that we can.

So people can watch from afar.

So good opportunity, right?

If you can't make the trip or the heat's too much,

you know, sit in your air conditioned living room, right?

And watch these guys go out and battle and, and really defend the South as they take down the North.

Brady Dosh and Liam Fingerson are gearing up for the game and looking forward to the challenge.

Looking forward to meeting the new group of guys that I've never been around in my life, you know, and then seeing them stands packed.

That's going to be special to me.

What about you, Liam?

I'm looking forward to just working hard again.

get a chance to go ahead guys get some pancakes and hopefully
