with sports related cancellations today. The Ithaca youth boys basketball practice today cancelled.
The driftless boys basketball tournament to be held today cancelled as well. No make-up date has
been scheduled at this time. And locally, still a go, the Richland Center youth boys basketball
practice is still on for today. Because of the extreme cold weather the last couple of days,
not a lot of sports action locally last night, boys basketball, stone defeated McFarlane 64-61.
It was Oregon over Baraboo 68-58 and Middleton down some Prairie West 85-74.
One top 25 men's college basketball game involving big 10 teams,
number three Michigan down to Ohio State 74-62. From the NBA to Milwaukee,
Bucks dropped a close one to Denver 102-100. It was Houston over Detroit 11-104.
Atlanta 110 Phoenix 103. Cleveland picked up the 123-118 win against Sacramento.
It took double over time, Boston got by Brooklyn 131-26.

Some major league baseball experts are saying it looks like the Brewers have won the trade
that sent a Freddie Peralta to New York. The deal was made earlier this week. In return,
Milwaukee gets two of the men's top five prospects, hard throwing right-hander Brandon Sprout,
and power-hitting infueler-outfueler Jeff Williams. Peralta is a rental for the Mets,

New Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hathley says he has nothing but love for the friends co-workers

at 12 teams after the commissioners of the southeastern conference in the big 10 couldn't come up with
the compromise for any kind of an expansion. The CFP Management Committee announced down
Friday the 12 team format would stay the same for the 2026 27 season. That decision provides
additional time for evaluation and discussion on the current format and any potential changes
in the future. The CFP went from four teams to 12 teams for the 2024 season and the two most
powerful conferences favor further expansion but could not agree on the number of teams.

A swarm of shoppers and grocery aisles stocking up on essentials.

There are also concerns about potential power outages because of the snow and ice.
President Trump on social media threatened Canada with a 100% tariff that makes a trade deal
with China, despite initially praising the deal.
And Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky said,
trilateral talks with Ukraine, the US, and Russia were constructive.

Jerry Selection and Luigi Mangione's murder trial
with the 2024 killing of United Health Care CEO, Brian Thompson,
is set to begin in September.
But ABC's Olivia Rubin says there are evidence questions still to be determined.
Mangione and his attorneys back in court urging the judge
to exclude his backpack from evidence claiming authorities illegally searched it
when they arrested him at that Pennsylvania McDonald's last year.
But prosecutors say otherwise, insisting police followed proper procedure,
alleging they found the murder weapon inside that backpack and urging the judge
to let it all go before the jury.
Now, the judge hasn't decided yet on those issues,
but a ruling will be pivotal for Mangione who has pled not guilty here.
Prosecutors and defense attorneys have also asked the judge
to take the death penalty off the table.
The NASA astronaut to a fly on the Artemis 2 mission set to circle the moon
next month are now in quarantine.
The four astronauts will be the first astronaut to fly to the moon in 50 years.
