Well, late last week I was talking to one of a coordinator executives from the American Red Cross.
And we were talking about how basically from the end of November until early March, it's a desert getting blood.
They need so much and then people are so busy or it's too cold or they get canceled because of weather.
And the blood drive's becoming increasingly important.
So we're going to tell you about a couple coming up this coming week.
Both on Tuesday, a Red Cross blood drive will be held from 1130 until 530 that at St. John's Gym in Muscatay.
Also a Red Cross blood drive from noon until 4 at the Lyndon Station Fire Department.
That's coming up as mentioned noon to 4.
Taking a look here, we have one on Wednesday as well.
A Red Cross blood drive will be held Wednesday from 1130 until 530.
That's a nice four hour one there at the Richland Center Community Center right here in town.
For any of those, here's how you schedule.
You can use the Red Cross blood donor app.
You can download that from your app center.
You can visit redcrossblood.org or you can call 1-800-Red Cross.
Now the one in Richland Center volunteers are needed to help set up and tear down.
So you could show up at the Community Center before it starts at 1130.
You can help with set up.
And that one's coming up on Wednesday.
So a couple of blood drives Tuesday, one on Wednesday.
Right now is a very important time to be able to donate blood as the need is great.
Of course, supply really dwindles during the winter months for various reasons.
I mean, there's lots of reasons and it's not like you're sitting here and blaming someone about it.
There's cancellations. People just get busy.
But if you have the time, you have the opportunity head out to one of the local blood drives coming up this week.
Two on Tuesday, one on Wednesday.
And if you need those dates, times or locations again, you can simply head over to wwwrco.com.
Click on Community Calendar and you'll find them right there.
