Hour. Thanks so much for joining us everybody

Diving in some entertainment news Apple TV plus will now be called Apple TV without the plus

The rebrand was announced at the end of a press release about the F1 the movie

Quote Apple TV plus is now simply Apple TV with a vibrant new identity

So there you have it

I think people just call the Apple TV anyways. I pretty sure I don't know anybody that has ever said the plus of any of these things

Yeah, I don't I don't know and

All of this

Like I get the idea and marketing is very important. There's there's you know, you certainly understand that but a lot of this stuff

Just feels like well, that's that's all well and good great job

But I know that that costs money to rebrand and I think that as consumers

We'd be much more interested in you keeping the plus and lowering the and using a negative

Subtraction and on how much it costs to subscribe to these things. Yes, that's a that's a plus right there

Yes, nicely done. I don't know, you know that any of this so much of it too is is it like HBO

Just went through this with they were HBO max and then they just went to max and then another HBO and I mean all these

Different things just like an industry thing like right now. It's like oh, he haven't re-evaluated this for 10 to 20 years

Let's just rethink it and so maybe that's why they're doing it. I don't think anybody really knows what to do is streaming

Options. It's too complicated and each one costs certain amount and at the end of the day

You're paying more than you would for getting cable from your local area

Like some seem to be doing it better than others

But I don't know if that's just because in comparison to others

They look good compared to how bad some are doing it and everything

I noticed one of the bigger problems because all of these all of these streaming services use commercials now

And one of the big draws to streaming services was not having commercials right now that they have them

That's you know kind of going out the window

But the the one of the weirdest things to me about streaming and there's certain sites that are worse at this than others is

They have not figured out where to throw commercials in yes, and I like Paramount I have a subscription with Paramount

I use them and I like the company and everything I like the the streaming service I should say

But they are the worst in the world at these commercial breaks sure where like especially if you're watching an old TV show and

They had the current that the episode is already set up for commercial breaks

So you would think they would just insert them then nope

It's like five seconds right before that commercial break or right is it right in between a sentence or a scene

YouTube does this a lot too and

The the algorithms the way they're working it's it's really getting a lot of people that not even want to use these services

They've really got to figure that out the branding of them how to market the streaming services

All of these things are brand new. It's wild west with all that stuff. Yeah, so I mean

I don't blame them for doing this, but I also feel like it's okay moving on like what's the big deal?

What if they're gonna do these kind of things make it worthwhile?

Right, you know bring something to the to the conversation

Mm-hmm. I don't know. I think it's gonna be fascinated to see how this goes with streaming services and how many people are

Already going back to cable yeah, and just yeah, they're tired of playing the game

And I think that's the problem is it's such a game. It's like a okay

I'm gonna do this one because they only have this program here and then this one only has it here

And so you're starting and stopping or you're like oh, I didn't realize it didn't and that subscription and not as many people are

As savvy to that yeah, like they don't want to start and stop and you know

They don't know all the buttons to click and so on so it gets intimidating

So I get the like go with the older way of knowing how to do it here's your bundle

This is what you pay for every month and you can cancel it within the month and you know what you're getting into

People want that they like that. That's their right. It's it's comforting. Yeah comfortable

It's also the the added so many people so many people want to go home and they just want to click

Yep, they don't want to think they don't want to have to hit this this and this and sign into their account or whatever

Everything they just want to hit click and just flip and I there's no I have no issue with that

I think that I can relate to that

I think we've all been in that position before but I think that was one of the things that we missed when we went to streaming and we didn't think about and then you bring up

Something that I think is so important to this conversation and so if I was running a business

If I have a business what's the most important thing to me my my consumers my my people my

So how many businesses do you feel good about or do well or you've heard of well they did this and it worked out really well for them

Tricking your consumers

Because that's what they're trying to do basically now with what you mentioned there about forgetting that you even have a subscription

Some people out there that are not online a lot or not don't doing any of these things

I imagine that sounds really far-fetched. That sounds really weird

How could you forget that you're paying for something monthly?

But we've all done it and and it's one of the ways that they get us and it's actually a

Like they're they're teaching things about this and how to do that to people

What business has ever been benefited by tricking their their their customers?

No, it doesn't make sense. Nobody wants to go back to that. We're in that industry now. We're like into trickery

Which doesn't make sense and we're buying into trickery. We're okay with it

I

I've said I don't want to sway things one way or the other not that I could but just in case

I won't mention the the but there's two sites in particular that I've stopped using just be in part just because of that because they

Make it so difficult for you not so much to cancel I get that that's you know marketing and all that

But the idea that they take such pride in people forgetting about paying their subscription and all that

That's

I don't know that that that's not good business to me

No, and that doesn't make repeat business

You're not gonna me and that that's for any kind of business that does something like that when you're trying to trick people into things or

You know leaning into hey, yeah, don't don't worry. Yeah, just subscribe sign up for a year subscription

Don't worry about us. I think that's then I write. No, it isn't um the price of things is becoming more and more of a topic with whatever we're talking about

And this is just kind of life. That's how where we are right now as a society, but it also kind of

It can't it can't be helped you can't avoid it almost

Money comes up again in this next conversation. Rush fans lost their mind in a good way when they heard that their favorite band was getting back together for some reunion shows

Actually, I didn't even know about this. Yeah, our sports director Michael Comer actually told me about this

He texted me the other day and was asking me about Neil Perth

Being replaced the famous drummer from rush

Arguably the greatest drummer rock drummer of all time a lot of people that know much more about music

We'll tell you that I'm just repeating what I've heard. Yeah

But now they're getting angry the rush fans were excited that rush was gonna tour

But now they're getting angry for a whole other reason when they find found out how much the tickets cost

Oh, no, according to alternative nation nosebleed seats are going for more than 300 bucks

Whoa, and they're rising from there

They're also selling premium packages with a range of 650 dollars to 2500

And those packages aren't offering much beyond a a laminate and some like trinkets

um

And this is not for nothing, but we're talking about a three-piece band and it's two thirds of it

And I think that for a lot of people

That's gonna have an effect right on that a big rush fan

I don't know a lot of their music or anything like that

But what I do know I respect and I think it's cool

And I think any band that's got the longevity they do um actually

They're fanbases one of my favorite fanbases. I've never met a non cool rush fan

Yeah, they all seem to love the band. They're all you know, and they're happy about it

Some fanbases, you know, if you you mentioned that they don't know their music they get bent out of shape and everything rush fans

They seem to be like oh you got to check out this song. Yeah, I like that. I like that. That's fun

I a lot of this is out of a band's hands, you know alternative nation. They're their own thing

They decide the ticket prices a lot of that

but the

Like everything else we're talking about the fans are the ones that really get hurt from this the band is hurt to a degree because

Out of ten rush fans how many of them can afford those tickets? Yes, exactly. I can I don't even know how anybody's afforded tickets nowadays

Wild plus I would gather that law of averages here most rush fans are a little older

If you're if you're looking to see rush because this may be the only opportunity you get and everything

You know, maybe you have a little disposable income, but you got three grand worth

I know right the tickets are gonna cost you at the lowest 300. Okay, but then there's parking. There's location

There's all they're eating like all this stuff. You're further away. I mean all of that. Yeah

It's just a shame because you know

At the end of the day the fans are the ones that get hurt the most by this

and

This stuff is chickens come home to roost like this stuff is going to hit a mark where

It's nobody's even going to these shows because nobody can

It's getting closer and closer to that I agree

One of the things that I I like to do is give people a little bit of a behind the curtain look

not just of what we're doing around here, but

My my life in the entertainment world or other areas

Just different spots and one thing that I try to bring attention to whenever I have an opportunity is how much

producers, you know run hollywood run entertainment and everything sure there's

There's a lot of great directors writers out there and they come up with these really interesting movies or concepts

And then while I can't just make it myself. I need money. I need help so the producers come in and because they're giving you

500 or $5,000 or whatever they feel like they have a right to say or change whatever they want

Hey, that's a really nice ending, but can we make it sappy or whatever the case might be and then sometimes

They also can be the hold-up of something not even happening

There is a lot of that going on and there's been a lot of that

There's a lot of movies for example the smashing machine the new movie that came out with the rock

It's getting a lot of critical acclaim

He's been trying to make that for 10 years. Sure like that's a movie that that could have been made in his prime when he was much younger and everything

There's there's a lot of those stories and there's so many of them that we never even hear about

Well Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill struck gold with the 21 jump street movies and then against the odds

They struck gold again with 22 jump street the rare sequel that kind of worked out in the box office and with fans

So they're you know where they were like well 23 jump street making another one just makes sense

It seems like a no-brainer and they were working on it working on it and then 11 years passed by and still nothing

And then Channing who Channing Tatum is pretty honest in interviews

You really doesn't really hold back a whole lot

Well Channing brought up that it wasn't him or Jonah because a lot of people have been saying

Oh, they don't want to do it one of the main actors

That's not the case. It's actually a producer named Neil M. Moritz

Apparently the movie is just too expensive to make because paying all the producers would cost as much as the budget of the actual film

So think about that a movie not being made not because the actors are costing too much or the budget and a special effects are too much

But because the producers are asking for too much of a paycheck

That's insane. That's that's just the the opposite of creativity

Uh, apparently the movie

Could still be made

But they're looking at maybe moving on from some of these producers

Yeah, I was just gonna say could they get it if a producer? I mean, of course it would have a it would be a little bit different that way

But yeah, but I think worth it. Yes, instead of not doing it Channing says he and Jonah and several other producers have agreed to take a smaller fee to make it happen

But mr. Moritz says he won't interesting

Yeah, by the way Channing says there is a script for 23 jumpstreet and he says sincerely the best script

I've read for me and Jonah in a long time

So it sounds like if they got it actually a good concept. Yeah, what's holding it up is these money bags

Yeah, they're like nope. Can't I can't budge

Uh, how much is I mean how much is too much? You know, how much do you really need to make to a certain point where you're like

You know what I'm good like yeah, why does that never seem to happen to millionaires? Why does that?

But right anymore. I mean, come on. I don't understand it

I wanted to mention our friends that was kind of throughout its community theater

They've got a bunch of great things going on of course throughout the fall and winter months

Taking through the whole year. There's gonna be some fun stuff the variety show was a huge success

Congratulations to everybody that was a part of that well done everyone and

The silver fox has got a show coming up. They're gonna be joining us on the rapid support sometime soon here

I love their shows the silver foxes do great stuff

They are added again, and they've got one coming up eat drink and be murdered

Support locals support our friends over the silver foxes

Plays or any of these kind of things the silver foxes is right there for you

Um, you don't have to worry about memorizing lines. You don't have a lot of those things going on

It's really about just performing and having fun

Uh, I love the silver foxes one of the things that I think is a advantage of getting older is the opportunity to play older roles

Other characters we just did on golden pond and uh, Norman is one of those like iconic characters to me is such an archie bunker character

I think well getting older you can play a character like Norman or Atticus Finch from, uh, you know, um, uh to kill a mockingbird

There's one of my dream roles things like that and being a part of silver foxes

As you get older you get to do certain things that are pretty cool

Encourage you to get your tickets and find out more about the silver foxes October show eat drink and be murdered

Uh cat and I take a quick commercial break come back and we're going to get into this interesting article about positivity and uh optimism

Talk about that when we get back on the morning show at wfhr

Welcome back everybody

You

Greatest baseline ever yes superstition

Uh, I hope y'all are having a great great morning out there cat and dreams here with you. Thanks so much for joining us

Um, I got an article here that it came across and it actually kind of what it started with a different um

One of those rabbit holes you go down at like one in the morning. Uh and rabbit holes and you're supposed to be sleepy and a dream in

Should a bit should a bit um, but I did um get into this and I really thought it was interesting

And I couldn't wait to share it with the audience and I thought you're a perfect co-host for this one

Our headline optimists live longer study finds

Some people are wired to be pessimistic, but it's impossible to learn how to be more optimistic and reap the health benefits experts say

So we are seeing more and more with more and more data and different studies that are being done from everything from the brain to the heart

Yeah, that it actually does seem to help your longevity your health to be more positive to approach the day with a little bit more of

Well as uh as I was told as uh when I was a little kid especially when I moved out here

I walked around everywhere with my fists clenched. I was always looking over my shoulder

I was always ready to get into a fight or something like that and finally a good friend of mine told me

You know you walk around all day with your fists clenched you're gonna get in a fight sure

And I don't know if he meant it this way or not, but it was a real eye opener for me

Well, I can't approach the day like that. I can't approach life like that. Of course

That's how my day is gonna go if that's the only way I'm walking into it

Some we can't always help our the negativity in our brain

But if you walk around feeling that way you can't be too surprised when it's you have a negative day great

It's really hard to fight those things, but the more you fight at it

I truly do think that the more you find that today's get better

Uh having a high level of optimism was associated with longer lifespan a past age of 90

According to a recent study of almost of almost 160,000

racially and ethnically diverse post post metapausal women

Uh and he and just men in general of all ages cool by researchers at the Harvard

TH Chan School of Public Health. That's cool. It's like a really wide diversity of everybody, right?

It's not just saying hey, okay

This group of individuals that are you know this age this

This this sex and this ethnic background. It's like a wide range. That's cool. First of all

I don't know the last time I we've done a lot of studies and surveys and everything

I don't know the last time we've done one with that high of a number of of data. Yes

The study enrolled men and women between the ages of 50 to 79 and gathered data and survey responses on them for up to

26 years and 25% more the 25% most optimistic participants were likely to live up to 5.4% longer

And more and were 10% more likely to live the beyond the age of 90. Yeah

These findings stayed the same after accounting for a demographic's chronic conditions and depression

quote lifestyle factors such as regular exercise and healthy eating accounted for less than a quarter of the optimism

Lifespan associated indicating that other factors may play into it a little bit

So not just being positive doesn't just do this but being positive along with you know a good diet and taking good care of yourself

Sure, which makes sense because it's a whole picture

Quote we tend to focus on the negative risk factors that affect our health lead author Kay Kogja

PhD student at Harvard

Said studying population health sciences and she said in the statement

It is also important to think about the positive resources such as optimism that may be beneficial to our health

especially if we see that those benefits are seen across all kinds of different groups as you were touching on before Katrina

previous research also found similar results a 2019 study published in the proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences based on data of

69,744 men women found or 69,744 women and

1429 men found that being in the group with the most positive outlook also related to a a a bump in longevity

Up to 11 to 15% longevity bump. Hmm. Wow. That's really big bump. Yeah. Yeah. So

Having an optimistic approach to life leads to a longer life. Sure. Yeah

Yeah, that makes sense. I mean like you said before it takes time if you you're usually you know

Feel like you're trutting up water and you feel more pessimistic

But you can kind of train yourself a little bit more or work towards it

Maybe it's not an everyday thing, but like working towards that

Not necessarily you need to be a polyanna, but yeah

Working towards it. What a great thing and when you're I know for me when I was really working to rewire my brain and to not be such a person that

Let's seize the

I spent the majority of my life not looking at the glasses half empty or half full

But oh, that's all I got to drink. How am I going to make that last? That's not a lot of water

You know this overthinking or or or or making any situation dramatic or serious or something like that

That's how a lot of my childhood was and it just makes some sense

But you know those days are long gone. I don't want to be that anymore. Yeah, you know rewiring your brain

Took years and years and years maybe even taking me over five six seven years and I'm it's something I'm still working on

It's a work in progress

But I've gotten to a point where I've had some bad days, you know in the past couple of months

And even in those days in those moments my brain is working so hard to find a silver lining or find something that it's

Be optimistic about it or or something to take from the moment that okay, this happened for a reason

Yeah, and it I'll be honest it could be annoying sometimes

But it's the way my brain is now and I did there. I don't think there's any going back

I think this is just who I am now going forward if that can happen to me with

The amount of like chemical imbalance that I had and stuff for so long in my brain

I have a hard time believing anybody out there that wants it can't get it

Yeah, it takes work. Yeah, but it's worth it and you live longer. Yeah bonus. That's a pretty good percentage shoe

And and you know even if the living longer doesn't seem that great to you

Whether it's living longer or not. How about a happier life? Yeah

Right me feeling a little bit more fulfilled or or also like the people around you too

A lot of that it's going to create more happiness in your surroundings

Scientists don't fully understand the pathways from optimism to health and longevity, but there are some theories

Such as another study that came out

From the Boston University that optimistic people are more likely to have goals and the confidence to reach them

So optimism may help people cultivate maintain healthier habits sure which can lead to them being a little bit more

That also makes a lot of sense

There's also something about if you're looking forward to tomorrow, you know, you're looking forward to things

It can't it keeps you young kind of keeps going and everything

So there's a lot to that you can find this complete article at today.com

You can go to today.com to find the complete article encourage you to read

There's a little bit more details to it and everything and encourage you to check out everybody because it's

It we want you around you deserve a long life you deserve a good life and everything and and honestly

How many pessimists have you met that are happy like you know, I mean, don't you want to be happy?

Don't you know enjoy your life a little bit more. I think it's worth it

It's worth it Katrina and I will take a break. We get to our news sports entertainment take care of our partners

We'll come back and we're talking life hacks. We got some more of these fun life hacks for you

And I was like to mention the audience if you have life hacks you want to share with us. Please do we'd love to hear from you

Call up and join us for that or of course use the civic media app in Texas

We'd love to hear from you. We'll be back a more show coming up

Welcome back everybody

Morning show here at WF HR locally grown rating getting thrilling around here as we dive into some life hacks

That's no that's bugging me. I'm sorry. We were talking about something during commercial break

And I can't believe I didn't think of that. I should have thought of that

We'll get we we'll do get to do a more later. Yes, to be continued

One of our to another continued conversation is life hacks

So I think these are kind of fun and interesting it can be anything from something simple like

A lot of people don't know that on your on your gauge your gas gauge on your car

There's a little pointer and that pointer is pointing right to where your tank is. Yes, some people you know

Especially if you if you're

We use a lot different cars and you're like which one is it on the left side or the right side

Yes, yeah, I recently had to use a different vehicle and I was like oh I have to get gas

Which side is it? I'm like yes, there's that little like arrow that points. Thank you

It was years ago, but my parents got a new vehicle like four or five years ago something like that

And my dad was like he was so thankful for that because he could he never could remember where it was and everything

Things like that

So with that we got a couple more for you here that we are the gang at Reddit gave us

But I want yours get us your life hacks everybody seven one five four two four twenty six hundred

What is something that you found to make your day a little bit simpler that you think?

Would be kind of cool for others to know when everything let us know and I hear it's up about it

Uh one of the ones on here using a potato peeler instead of a knife for cutting cheese. Oh

I never really thought about that. Yeah

I don't know if I've ever used it. I feel like it depends on like how

Like aged the cheese is because more age the harder it might be

But like I'm gonna go home tonight and I'm gonna I'm gonna do that. Yes

I try that. Oh, I think we're I think I'm having folks

I haven't I haven't dinner with my folks tonight. I think we're making tacos

I'm gonna make spread up some cheese

Yeah, I'm doing out the shredder actually get that out. I'm doing that. I'm doing that

And I'm not gonna tell my mom just gonna start doing it and see what she says. Oh, you learned

Oh, that's gonna press her

I don't get to do that very often. Yeah, do it while you can. Yes

Eating a kiwi with the skin on

Quote less effort to eat and more convenient

Um, I'm an ad kiwi in ages. I like kiwi. I would try that

I don't the skin is never I've eaten it before an accident and it's never bothered me

Yeah, it's definitely I feel like our culture in the US

We think you should peel it or you should eat around it like scoop it with a spoon

um, but um, I think like a lot of people in the south or like you know in different countries use it

Just eat the whole thing like we would an apple. Oh, sure sure. I think there's anything wrong with it

I I would say that one of my favorite parts of the apple is the skin

Yeah, and I wonder if that would happen with kiwi. I'd like to like really good nutrients in there too

I had a friend that used to say a

Potato peeler is a vegetable a nutrient stealer

So you're stealing nutrients the when you peel it. Oh, okay. Oh, that's good. Oh, that's good

Put popcorn kernels in a paper sandwich bag

Quote roll the bag closed and put it in the microwave for about three minutes once popped

Throw seasoning inside shaking and joy cost a lot less than actual movie theater popcorn

So your popcorn's already in the bag for you right there. You all yes

Um, I don't know if we've ever really if we've really still figured out the perfect way to make popcorn at home

Yeah, there's a lot of different ways since you and I were kids

They've had a lot of different things out there and everything, but I don't know. We've ever come up with the perfect way of doing this

Greasing a corn cob

But a quote butter a slice of bread then wrap it around a freshly cooked corn on the cob to coat the corn with the butter

Yeah, that's great. It's all that's genius because it always melts off. It's all over the place

Yes, yeah, that's good. And then maybe use the bread for your BLT or something like that nice

Yeah, oh, you are good at this. Yes. I love that. I love corn in the cob. I haven't had it in a long time

Right, right? I kind of want it now just try that everything. That's cool

Chopsticks for Cheetos. I think we've seen this one a couple of times. Yep

Mini ones. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This is for those that don't like to get the Cheeto dust on their fingers and all that

I don't know if it would work for Doritos, but you're welcome to try. Yeah

As I will say though

I kind of thought that was part of the reason you you ate these. Yeah, you get the leftovers later

And I was literally thinking chopsticks

Like you take the the Cheetos as chopsticks

Yes, so my brain went somewhere else and not just taking chopsticks to eat your Cheetos. I got Cheetos 4

Yes, yes, yes, I love this make your make your that's why I said many ones and I'm like, oh wait

That's right

Just just like they do it in Beijing just like exactly exactly your

With your Cheetos

I got this another one that I really want to try just to see what this is a clove oil in your floor cleaner

Oh, I just heard somebody say that it is the best odor

Helping with detecting odors and such because it really like covers a lot of sense and so I was just thinking about using it recently

It says along with that that it keeps bugs from coming in your home. Sure. Wow

Especially this time of year. That's also good for two things. Yeah. Thank God for that. Yes

And let's see. Oh, I had a couple of other ones here that I wanted to mention

So this is an interesting one and we've kind of talked about things doing things like this before

And I think it goes a long hand in hand with the optimism story we were talking about just before

Smile broadly for a minute every morning when you are alone like in the shower or something like that

Maybe before after you brush your teeth

People think that oh, it's going to kind of be weird or whatever are superficial

But it works in lifting your general mood. I can see that I don't like to say that it tricks your brain

But it kind of it it sets your brain on this path. Yeah of that

A similar thing as far as if you do if you struggle with confidence those kind of things

Looking in the mirror every morning and saying looking good. Yeah, you're looking good today

Yeah, it may feel silly

It may not seem like it does a lot, but I guarantee you you do it for a couple of days do it for a week

You're gonna see a difference

Or you'll put more in towards like I want to feel better

I want to dress a certain way that makes me feel better. So I think all those things are important

It goes so much farther than than we can realize and especially if you haven't done what's there is there is no downside

This is not one of those side effects may include right there is none end of list. There is none

As a side note. Yes, I saw what I one I've never seen before there was I don't even know what it was for

But there was one of those pill ads. Yeah, yeah, you know the new skiffish often. Yes, I hope with this

I've never you know they always do the side effects may include. Yeah, I've never heard more like they mentioned like 80 side effects

And then at the end of it more side effects may be included. Oh, and you were like whoa

We don't have time for it. I guess you don't have for a 30 second commercial. You don't have time for all the side effects

No, you should not take it. It shouldn't even be out like they should probably be doing more studies on that all I could think about was

How did that get released?

Scary I think it was for like restless legs and you're more something like that. I don't want restless legs

But there's many other things I don't want. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it feels like no not worth it

Uh, what about this one cheese it's in soup instead of crackers. Okay fun. Oh, that's fun

I like that. I could see that try that um, this is one that I think I heard a long time ago

And I meant to try it and I never did and now it's just gonna be back in my brain wanting to

Grilled a grilled a grilling a peanut butter and jelly sandwich like grilled cheese

Hmm. I feel like I've had that and it was good. It like the peanut butter has like a rich

Warm rich flavor that comes out. I gotta try that maybe tonight. It's your dessert. I love I love grilled things or anything

Like you grill a boot and I'd probably eat it. I like I love grilled stuff

A dash of strong black coffee in any chocolate cakes cookies brownies frostings or pastries. Okay

A dash of almond extract and vanilla cakes cookies brownies and such

Um, uh, it it brings out a little bit of the flavor brings out a little bit of a different flavor with it coffee

Black coffee can do that man. What can black coffee not do people put like stouts and chocolate cakes and things like that

But yeah, like a little bit of

Chocolate and coffee together in a cake. That sounds I'm I'm ready. I mean that that's my giant. I love mocha coffee

So that sounds great to me. You just see that for your dessert. Give it to me

Freeze grapes. Yes, done that. That's delicious. Yeah. Mm-hmm. It's delicious. Oh, I gotta try that

We just don't choke on it. Of course grapes are already a choking hazard than that is frozen, but yeah, they're really good

Uh, that I have to try that sounds awesome

I have a neighbor that like love this frozen grapes

And it's great if your grapes are getting bad just throw them in the freezer and then you can have them for a later time. Oh, there you go. Yeah

Um, there there's a couple about uh, if you if you have trouble sleeping at night putting your pillow case or blanket in the freezer

Interesting and letting it cool and then you put it on like five ten minutes before you go to sleep

And it can like be a little bit cool. You know, hey like Billie de Williams said uh or you know

Cool is the other side of the pillow

I guess so, but then I also think of like I want to be cozy too. Yeah

But I guess I could get that you could get sleepy. Okay, you got James try that tonight

Um, well see if it works tell the radio tomorrow what happened be an experiment

Eh being honest and this is a safe place, right? This is just between you and uh, you and me here. Yeah, uh huh

I uh, this was my life hack. This was one that I brought it now I did didn't I am done this as an adult

But when I when I first moved out here and I was living in Rome

I was real culture shock. I didn't know, you know, I was having a hard time

Sleeping and I already had a hard time sleeping. So I don't know where she came up with it

But my Nana um had a pillowcase and she threw it in the freezer

Because I think I told you that I liked it cold or something like that. I don't know

And she would take it out like five ten minutes before I went to sleep and it it helped

It helped calm me it helped like sleep a little bit um and I hadn't thought about that in probably 20 years

So you should do that again tonight and see if that helps. I've been thinking about like well

What can I do to try to sleep better and everything? I've been working really hard on that and I don't know why but it just I

Popped up in my brain, okay, and um, I encourage you to try it if you want to

Okay, you just put the whole pillow in or just the pillowcase just the pillowcase. Okay, because you'd have to have a

Freeze happy hilarious though. Yes, I want to try that. It's a frozen pillow in its heart now

And it's like like if you hey if you ever wanted to go to sleep on an ice cube. Yeah, I mean maybe you last longer

I encourage people to try that one though. Okay, and one of the last ones on here put toothpaste on mosquito bites

They will disappear or at least not itch as much interesting. I mean that one again

All of these there's no harm no foul no blood no foul. You know kind of thing. I think we're trying that one especially

Yeah, like anything that could help mosquito bites remind you when it's spring again

That's the thing. Are we gonna remember this come spring? That's the we got to we got to be reminded of it

I don't know how I would decide that I know there's a lot of them

But I can say that I know the first event that I ever attended was spirit walk. I went there

Ages ago. Okay. I don't want to say how old I am so I would say how long ago but a long long time ago and

As somebody as a city kid that opened my mind to so much and understanding

not just

The land in the area and the history better

But taking some enjoyment in it and like some excitement in and everything

It was awesome. I've done it at least five seven times. I don't know how many times since it's never gotten old

Storytelling and guided lantern lit tours learn from the individual citizens of point boss as they emerge from the darkness to tell you about themselves

In their version of haunted history. Yeah, it's not like scary scary, but it's got a little bit of that like

Mysterious hauntedness to it. It's they do it so well, and it's such a fun

Can I just mention that it is so reasonable to go with those events so reasonable kids are like a couple dollars

Parents are the dollar or two more than that and it's a really good organization of people that have like heart and soul into that

And I'll just tell you because my dad that is like his second home

So I know how much heart and soul that they put into that place

And it's just such a cool place to be and that we have it here in our community

There's a lot of other places that you know, they don't have they don't have a place like that

And they're doing events almost every month, which is so impressive

It's a living breathing museum

Yes, you can interact with yes, you can walk on that you can really smell and breathe and feel the history over there

It's palpable it really is and then when offense like like that's just any day over there

But then an event like this really heightens it really brings it out

And I'm so glad you should mention this because he if um they don't bring it up

They never bring it up the price of it. It is so reasonable. They have not changed those prices and like that's the price

We paid when I was a kid and we exactly and they do that

To be good to as a as a credit to the community and and that they want to make this affordable for families and everything

Adults five dollars students three dollars little kids probably getting in free. Yes

We've been talking about this and there's always been kind of a many theme throughout the show today about mental health and

You know positivity and some of those a lot of that can stem from again looking in the mirror and liking what you see

Along with some of the health benefits that you can feel in your body that have nothing to do with physical appearance and stuff too

She's a good one too. I've looked up a little bit of what she's done. And she's good. That's gonna be a great presentation

Saving a little boy who walked out into the street

He wandered away from his home around 7 a.m. In the morning and was still in his pajamas

She called in and the police officer showed up got him back home 20 minutes later

But the video footage is um, I wouldn't say it's jarring or anything. It's just kind of like oh

You know thankful for that lady. Yeah, absolutely big shout-out to all of our school bus drivers out there
