Meet Anemone ! (Hour 2)

We're going to have some fun this hour. Got some entertainment news. We're going to get into in a little bit.

Got a couple of other stories I want to touch on with Seth here. Got some good news stories of the day.

And so many good things going on in our area. We're going to cover. But it is a Thursday at the top of the 10 o'clock hour.

You all know what that means.

I'm great. Thanks. How are you guys doing? Good. Doing good over here. We appreciate you being here.

Let's jump right into our pet of the week because she wants to be heard.

She does. This is a female named Anemone. They call her Nemi at the shelter. She's about two years old.

Calico. She's just gorgeous. She's just bluffing enough to be, you know, shedding all over the place.

But just just a gorgeous cat in a pretty nice temperament. She'll just sit and, you know, make biscuits all day long.

Yeah, she was a credit. I just met her just now and couldn't couldn't be sweeter to me.

Really, one of the sweeter animals you've brought in, really, I think. And not to say that they aren't all sweet.

But she seems really interested in people. Yes.

You know, a lot of cats, they're more of like what's going on around surroundings, you know, scratching at things or what have you.

Some certain cats, though, my old cat Hemingway was like this where they're more interested in people.

They don't really have as much of an interest as like yarn or something like that.

She has that temperament to her.

She's very much very people oriented.

And I am a sucker for anything that is orange and black. Those are my favorite colors.

And she is just a perfect Calico.

Like where the placement of all her spots, everything she is such a pretty cat.

That's a cute cat. And a beautiful set of eyes, too.

And that's a cool cat.

She has got all her stuff or microchip and spade and everything.

She spade up to date on her vaccination and microchip. She's ready to go.

She'd be great for a family, even with small kids.

Yeah, excellent. Medium size. What your typical size for a house cat and everything.

And when it comes to her, like the kind of her attitude, you hit it on the head.

I think she'd be really good for just about any family.

Yeah, because she's not a really active or squirm me.

Like right now.

Yeah, I say that. No, she's jumping around.

She was just waiting for you to say it.

She might as well be a, you know, a kid or something.

Yeah, that's what kids do.

Perfect. Perfect.

She's got that going for it.

And when it comes to her claws, how are those?

They're not bad.

I mean, some cats use them more than others.

She really doesn't.

Even when she makes the biscuits stuff, she doesn't sink her glasses.

I noticed that.

That's kind of why I was asking.

Because it seemed like to me that she doesn't really use them much and everything.

So it's nice.

Very sweet.

Seems like it's just about any house she would fit in.

Yep.

She good with the other cats as well.

Yeah, yeah.

So far as we know, she doesn't get angry when she sees the other ones.

There's one.

I can not imagine.

Here's hoping she is not there very long.

We like you guys together and everything.

But she's got a forever home out there of this cat, isn't it?

It's a really sweet one.

We want you to learn more about Nemi and that.

We'll tell you how you can do that in just a moment.

But Denise, I did want to touch on a couple of other things before we let you go this morning.

We got a big event to talk about.

I want to get to that in a second.

Are there anything around the shop that we can help with?

You know, normal things that you're looking for or anything that you're looking for?

We're short on litter.

Of course, we just got three more loads of kittens back from bosters.

So any kind of litter we will take and the wet kitten food as well.

That wet kitten food goes a long way.

And one thing I hadn't thought about before, but I was just the last time I was at the store

and I thought I'd look just for the heck of it.

That food tends to keep pretty for a long time.

It does, yeah.

So you buy it.

Well, I don't know if they need it.

No, they always need it.

They're always going to need it.

So picking some up, don't worry, it'll get used.

And even if it doesn't right away, it stays on the shelf for quite a while.

It'll be all right.

It does.

Similar to the litter.

You know, there's never a bad time to help out the Humane Society Grab in an extra bag of litter

or something like that if you can.

These things may not seem like a lot to you, but they go so much farther for the Humane Society.

And when we can do these things and take one little thing off your plate or help,

but you know, with that, it's one more thing that you can focus on the animals

or you can do other things or maybe big fun events Denise.

Okay.

Boy, got a big one.

And it's finally here for this weekend.

We have it coming up.

The Southwark County 5K 9 walk run with our Southwark County Humane Society.

This is happening this Saturday, red sand's pavilion at a beautiful lake with Zeecho.

You can online register at our site register at 8 a.m.

The walk will kick off at 9.

A lot of cool things to go along with this too, Denise.

Yep.

Lots of stuff.

We have raffles.

We have a broccoli and I believe hamburgers too on Friday night when you can pick up your packets

if you're pre-medicer.

Otherwise, that will all be taking place as well on Saturday.

Big sales, all kinds of good stuff.

There might be some kids stuff to do.

Bring your pets.

So you can bring the pets out.

Yes.

We encourage certainly pets that are up on the rabies vaccinations.

Yes.

We will be checking for rabies vaccinations as well.

Make sure you have that with you.

That makes everybody safe.

Makes it a good time for everyone.

All the animals.

And I also saw that top-pledge earners are going to have some prizes as well.

That's really cool.

Yeah.

We encourage people when they register to get pledges from their friends about how far they can walk

or if they can do it and the top-pledge earner.

The main society doesn't have a ton of, you know, events like this and be able to raise

funds or awareness.

So this is one of those ones, all hands on deck everybody.

We want everybody.

We'll take this one, be a part of this one.

And one thing we can all do is whether it's on social media or at the water cooler or

whatever, let people know about this event.

Spread the word about this event.

Please talk about it with your friends, get your co-workers and come on down.

It's going to be a lot of fun.

And he turned it down immediately.

Good for you, Ed Sheeran.

His reason is pretty relatable, especially for parents.

It terrifies me.

I wanted to go to space when it's like flying to France about, and you know, 40,000 people have done it.

And you can just book it online.

I don't want to be a guinea pig for that because it's still very dangerous.

There's places on this planet I haven't been to.

I've never been to Greenland.

I would love to go to Greenland.

There's places on the planet I would far rather go to than space.

Yeah.

I'm not going to risk my kids not having a dad.

Ed and his wife share two daughters, age three and five.

Oh.

So very understandable.

Very relatable.

Yeah, 100%.

I think even if you don't have kids, you can relate to that and everything.

I love the brutal honesty of it.

I don't want to do it.

It's scary.

Straight up.

And while I'm trying to put it to, you know, his words out and everything, you hear him talk about it.

And it's kind of funny the way he talks about it.

It's much more comedic.

But also you get that he's being very serious.

I wouldn't do it because it's a waste of all kinds of stuff.

Energy, money, time, I don't know.

Forget it.

You think about all of our astronauts that are working.

And I mean, you know, if you've never looked into what it takes to be an astronaut, don't do yourself a favor and look into that.

Because it's not just about being brave, although that is a key part of it.

That's a part of it.

I don't like the idea of cut in line in front of those astronauts.

I don't like the idea of that.

And it's not really space that we need to really stress that.

Can we stress that?

What we say they mean for once.

For the love of all that is.

I mean, outer space and space are very different.

Yes.

And there's atmosphere and space.

It's a big difference.

Atmosphere, you got a chance to get back here.

And it's a good one.

We've got great odds.

And it's still part of the planet.

The atmosphere is part of Earth.

You're not space.

You're in space.

We are not going to be able to get your mail to you.

It's over.

It's over.

Right.

Yeah.

You go to the International Space Station.

Then we'll say you're in space.

Yes.

There is no international atmosphere station.

No, there's not.

So skimming the surface, you know, doesn't count.

I don't care who I'll reach you are.

It doesn't count.

You tell me we're going to go to the moon.

I'll think about it.

I don't actually have a lot of interest in that.

There's not much at the moon to see.

As much as I love the moon, it's one of my favorite things in the universe.

Right.

I just don't head to me.

I'm a little bit on edge.

You're inside on this one.

Like, you know, let other people got to do this before.

You know, when a new cell phone comes out and a lot of people like myself, I will not wait

for it.

I will not wait in line for it.

I'll wait a couple of months.

Let's not leave the bugs first and then maybe I'll think about a new phone or something.

Which to be honest with everybody I never do.

No, I'll think about it.

I'll think about it.

This five years in.

Then maybe I'll start thinking about, okay, maybe this is interesting.

Maybe I'll give this a shot.

I would have been the guy when they were first flying, when they were first getting planes

and everything doing the same thing.

Right.

I'll give this a couple of years.

And besides, he's too late.

Chuck Berry is already in space.

He's been in space for decades.

Yes.

So, yeah.

I can only imagine that the people that presented this to him.

I wonder who, like, if he was their first choice and if he's not going to do it, I can only

think of these celebrities that would do that.

There will be some that would do it for hundreds of years.

Katie Perry was in space and he was that time to promote her album.

You know?

I mean, not in space.

I mean, in the atmosphere.

Again.

Not in space.

Not really in space.

She was just doing it for a stunt.

Basically, publicity stunt.

Because that's what we should be doing with our money.

Right.

Right.

Which there's no argument that you can make for this.

I'm sorry.

There's just no argument.

I think you can make for this one.

Not with the money it costs and everything.

And I've heard people try to compare this to, you know, adrenaline sports or adrenaline activities.

Like a bungee jumping or something like that.

They are two different worlds.

They're not the same thing.

Man, they're not the same.

Ah, anyway.

I think I'm not alone on this one.

Being a little sick and tired of seeing rich people be able to waste money while most of us

are struggling to be able to put ends together.

Yeah.

That's a great point.

I've been doing this with our politicians for a very long time since I was a kid.

How can you relate to me?

What are you going through?

What are you struggling with?

How can you relate to your constituents?

Many of the politicians that you hear me ramble about and bark about can't do that.

Right.

I don't believe that there's a single cell in Derek Orton that can relate to me or relate to any of his constituents basically.

And I don't think the same thing about half of these guys.

Right.

Whereas locally, when it comes to our Senator Tesson or Representative Krueger, somebody like that,

part of the reason they have earned my respect is because I see that they do.

Yeah.

I see that they try very hard to if they can't.

Yeah.

They go out of their way to and all that.

That's right.

When it is not part of the job, but they do it.

Yeah.

And they should.

And all politicians should try to do that.

Yeah.

When it comes to relatability as a celebrity, think about this.

Now, it's one thing to try to get people's votes.

It's another to try to get their money.

Right.

And that's what a celebrity does doing.

Whether it is trying to get you to buy their music or download it or come see their movie or whatever it is.

You're right.

Yeah.

They are looking for you to spend your money.

Yep.

And one of the ways they do that is being likable, being relatable.

Mm-hmm.

Going to space.

Going to the atmosphere.

Like, how is that?

How are you relating to people?

How are you relating to people?

So few people can afford to do that.

Yeah.

And yeah, get out of here with that.

Yeah.

I'm interested.

For all these billionaires that are doing this, that's what they should be doing.

Instead of putting these wannabe celebrities, because half of them aren't even real celebrities.

They're like, see celebrities and stuff.

Instead of doing that, why don't you do it like bringing actual people.

Real people.

And even that, I don't know about.

I don't know how many real people would want to do this.

Yeah.

Seriously.

Especially, you're going to pay for me to miss work.

Because I kind of need to do that because not that you would understand that.

Because you don't know what it's like.

SNL creator, Lauren Michaels.

And it's interesting that you can just say one name with the creator of Saturday Live.

Yeah.

But SNL creator, Lauren Michaels, has come under fire in recent weeks for a series of shocking caskuts.

It left fans in a bit of a wonder.

One of the most recent ones, Egon Wotom, was one of those, Heidi Gardner, leaving the show.

So some of that has been kind of talked about quite a bit.

Michael Longfellow was the one that bugged me.

But many SNL diehards have been calling for Lauren to be, you know, taken out of the job.

And that he's too old for something like that.

There's even been some people saying that he should be canceled for it.

Quote from Lauren Michaels.

The show has always brought people in from different ages and different generations.

And it's how it revives itself.

He told Entertainment Tonight.

It's always hard when people leave, but there's a time for that.

And our audience has always stayed relatively young.

And more so now with TikTok.

Change is good.

The people we're bringing in, I'm really excited about.

When it comes to canceling him for an Egon Wotom leaving, or a Devon Walker, who are both ethnic people,

he's bringing in quite a few ethnic people, while also still having Keenan Thompson, Michael Shea, Bowen Yang,

and a number of other individuals.

Think about something everybody.

Please, even if you don't like Lauren Michaels, even if you agree that you should be canceled.

How do you think he state, if you're staying relevant in SNL?

The thing that you can do that nobody else can do is topical humor.

This happened yesterday.

We can do a sketch on it tomorrow.

Nobody else can really do that.

In real time, we've seen for a hundred different sketches that something happened Friday night or Saturday.

And they're doing a sketch on it that night.

It's revolutionary.

Nobody else can do this type of comedy.

In order to be able to do that, what would you think you would need?

A cast of characters, of all different ages, and faces, and races, and all that,

because you just don't know what's going on.

You don't know who's going to...

Hey, this story involved this race, or this story involved the person of this race.

So you have to have a multi-cast.

Lauren learned this the hard way, and he'll be the first to tell you this.

The old school ways to do this, you have Garrett Morris.

Like, that's it.

Yeah, that was all.

He learned the hard way.

Two women, yeah.

He learned the hard way, and learned through his mistakes.

Lauren Michaels has been nothing but a front about, hey, I had a blind spot here with Tracy Morgan.

I had white writers writing for him.

It didn't work.

We had to change that.

What he has talked about with Tina Fey and how women were treated at SNL for a very long time.

I'm not saying at all, he's a perfect human being, and he don't have skeletons in his closet or anything like that.

Please raise your hand if you don't.

But when it comes to the idea of, like, we got to be smarter about this.

There are people that deserve to not be in the public eye.

There are a lot of people that don't deserve to be in the public eye.

We got to make, you know, we can't just all lump them together.

What he is doing here with this is what he has done as far as representation goes.

Lauren Michaels has been at the forefront of that a lot longer than most.

The thing I'm actually more interested in is, and he touched on it there about, you know, being more relevant, going to TikTok and stuff.

That's interesting.

It's almost like you're caught in a spot here.

How do you remain relevant with a show that has been here on for 50 years, okay?

So obviously the change is you got to refresh things.

You got to do it in order to do that.

TikTok is a very different medium than television.

Yeah.

It's very different.

I don't know if it works, man.

You have to wait and see, but the people they brought, and not only a couple, but the people they brought from TikTok, is it going to work?

I really have no clue if it's going to work or not.

I think fans are a little bit back and forth on that one.

I think they're...

It's a big unknown at this point.

It's a very least mixed results.

Right.

Yeah, we'll see if they can do it.

I mean, it's kind of the big leagues, right?

Yeah.

I'm going to bet on him because he's proven he can decade after decade, but that doesn't mean that he can.

It just means we don't know.

That's the thing.

I think he's got a good chance.

This seems crazy.

But according to UltimateClassicRock.com, there are 20 major old school rock bands that can still reunite their classic lineups.

Whether they will or not is a whole other question.

Of course, of course.

How much do they hate each other?

Molly Hatchet.

Good friend, Trap.

Still working very hard in the industry and everything.

Delwood or was it Dale or something like that?

Him and I go there to MC Molly Hatchet.

Okay.

And we go there and it was one guy who was like a second member of the band.

Like it wasn't even an original member.

He had been with the band for a long time.

He'd been with the original band.

Yeah.

But it was wild, man.

It was one of the funniest, like, oh, man, it was really funny.

That is pretty funny.

Shout out to those guys though.

They were great.

So it's worth noting that Black Sabbath just missed making this list with that in mind.

So, when it comes to AI, one of the things that I like to do is this is a topic I like to do.

This is a topic I like to get into with you, Seth.

I know you've done a lot of, you know, read a lot of articles on this one.

Yes, yes.

You've done a lot of research on it.

And I tend to, you know, especially when it involves chat GPT.

I don't know as much about it, so I like to bring in a brain that does.

This one, though, I felt like, okay, I could have kind of seen this one coming, I feel like.

All right.

You can, there are times when it seems like there's nothing artificial intelligence can understand.

And then there are times we need to remain reminded that it's only able to do what it can do.

Like it, and it's only can do what it can program that we need to keep this in mind right now, everybody.

Yes.

There are times when AI is just plain silly.

You can, you can play tic-tac-toe with chat GPT.

I'll assign a number for each cell, and I'll even update the grid for you between your moves and its moves.

So, it can do that, but sometimes asking chat GPT five, what the implications would be for a game of rotating tic-tac-toe.

So the same game, just rotating once, 90 degrees to the right before the start.

Okay.

Obviously, this wouldn't matter at all for humans for the grid.

Yeah.

No one even noticed.

And while chat GPT admitted that it would be identical to standard tic-tac-toe for AI,

they doubted whether a human could handle it.

So basically, AI really struggles with the tic-tac-toe board.

It cannot wrap its brain, right?

It's a digital brain around it.

Right, which again, we need to remind ourselves, is just all the sum of all the data that has been.

It has learned from, and again, I'm using learned in a very broad sense,

because I don't want to use any of the words that we associate with human thinking,

because it's not, it is not the same thing.

We're not even close to that.

It can do some pretty impressive things, yes.

But it cannot replace people in most 97% of jobs.

It cannot replace people.

So that's a hype.

This is a lot of hype we're hearing right now, right?

It cannot do these things that a lot of the, not surprising,

AI companies are saying they can do, or this is my favorite.

Oh, it's going to be just around the corner.

Right.

And they keep moving it.

They keep saying, it's 2027.

They said that for a long time.

No, when that comes around, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

They're not anywhere near that.

They're saying this so they can continue to get money from investors.

Has chat GBT changed?

No, sorry, James.

So, here's, here's chat GBT's explanation of why you can't understand tectacto.

What I'm trying to do with this article and covering this article is take away

some of the scare tactics of AI.

Right.

Just a really quick note about this, everybody.

Anybody in the public eye, when you hear from them, is it only them trying to scare

you?

Is it only them trying to do that?

Like, if that's, if they are that kind of person, that's all you ever hear from them.

Is them whining and complaining or trying to scare you or trying to quote warn you

when really they're trying to scare you about something.

Right.

That's all you ever hear from them.

That person has an agenda.

That person has an agenda that has nothing to do with you and does not care about you.

And I will die on this hill.

We've got to get over this.

The scare tactic media, the scare tactic entertainment.

Yes.

Any of these words you want to use, go ahead and take any verb you want.

It ain't working for me, man.

I'm tired of it.

It is like when you go to see a movie and you know how it's going to turn out already.

You know, you've seen this movie a hundred times.

Every single one of these individuals I'm talking about, I can see that you are not

a good actor.

You are not good at this.

You don't have good writers.

We can see right through you.

Right.

And yet they get away with it.

Right.

Pay attention to that.

If a person like, you know what, this person, all they ever try to do is scare me.

Like they got an agenda and there's nothing to do with keeping you and your loved ones safe.

Right.

And it's that first feeling you get, that fear.

Yeah.

That's the first thing that hits you.

And it's everyone.

I'm sure everyone knows exactly what I'm talking about, right?

Yeah.

And that's designed.

They want you to feel that way, right?

That's why it's a constant stream of these things that James is talking about.

These scare things.

You constantly hear them because you've got to keep the feeling there.

If you take a step back, you realize, and you think about it, maybe you read something else,

you're like, oh, wait.

That's not nearly as bad.

Or this is something that's been going on for a long time.

Or blah, blah, blah, blah, whatever it is, right?

Yeah.

It's very specifically done for a very specific reason.

AI can also not handle a 90-degree rotation on a board.

Can't do it.

Can't wrap its brain around it.

Seriously, it cannot do these things.

We have to keep this up.

Why every AI thing online right now says there may be errors.

They have to put that on there because of all the errors it makes.

I think that, you know, if there's anything too fear about AI, it is the idea that people

are still using it to make people scared.

I don't know.

I don't know if the boogeyman is scary anymore.

But they're basically still trying to use the boogeyman.

They're taking a villain and maybe in the 1900s, it was scary to kids.

But now, modern kids are like, I don't know, and boogeyman doesn't scare me.

That's what they're trying to do with AI.

They continue to try to bring out the boogeyman, and it's not working.

It doesn't make sense.

AI cannot handle different rotations of a board.

Like a game board, or if you move it just an inch, it loses its mind.

It cannot handle it.

It really botches tic-tac-toe bat.

It's not clear what the reasoning is other than it cannot adapt.

That simple word of adapting, that our brains have had millennia to be able to do.

And this just, again, it just goes to explain, to show everybody, we are so far,

so far from a general artificial intelligence.

We're not even close, not even close.
