WFHR Coffeehouse Tour? (Hour 2)

Mornings with WFHR · Wed Sep 3, 2025

Good morning Wisconsin, morning world, it's a new day.

Welcome back to the morning show, our number two.

Got your host James here, joined by Melissa.

Good morning.

Seth, good morning and the best listeners in the radio.

Thanks for being here, everybody.

We hope you're having a fantastic day out there.

Happy, happy Wednesday, everyone.

A little bit later, we're going to talk a little bit about

how much of our, do we go by our gut?

How much do we trust our gut?

And how many decisions do we make trusting that gut

and that instinct?

We'll get into that a little bit later.

And if you want to break a world record,

Guinness says these 70 haven't been attempted.

Have never been attempted.

Oh, we're going to spend, James, you just picked this

so that you can finally find one to land on.

He's gearing up, man.

He's getting ready.

He is telling ready.

A few people that know me like Melissa,

she's just all right through me, just because I pay attention.

That's it, that's it, it works.

And I feel for you, that's all.

I just don't know, get you, start to go fund me for a little bit.

Looking forward to that one, that's going to be fun.

We'll get into all of that.

But we kick off with, I will of course get into local stories.

We got some good things going on around here

and great events going on in their area we want to touch on.

But for right now, we kick off with entertainment

and we keep hearing that 2025 didn't have a song

for this summer.

This has been a topic I've seen on social media

a little bit.

I've heard a couple of people throw out names of songs

and listen to that and everything.

But it hasn't been like years past

where, okay, this one song is really obvious, right?

Yeah, even people that don't listen to pop music

knew the song or could reference the song

or something like that.

We haven't really had that this year.

Apparently, according to Billboard, though, that is false.

Oh, the song of the summer was ordinary from Alex Warren.

Okay.

I'm going to play a little bit of this for you right now.

So that is ordinary from Alex Warren.

That is the most I have heard of that song.

I remember that I had not heard it hadn't heard of Alex Warren

before.

I don't mean that as an insult.

I'm just being honest.

I haven't.

I also don't listen.

Believe it or not, I actually have heard this song.

Really?

Wow.

Okay.

Which is crazy.

It is kind of funny considering James and I

have the music guys that we are.

That kind of thing.

Melissa, you got your stuff that you like and everything.

I do.

Yeah.

But I guess I've just run across that more somewhere.

I don't know where.

It's pretty epic sounding though.

Wow.

It is.

It's a cool song.

It's got a nice voice.

But I've never heard his name.

Yeah.

Now, I remember it was Alex Warren.

Okay.

Billboard actually has a songs of the summer chart that runs for 14 weeks and ordinary

topped it the entire time.

Really?

Wow.

I wonder how they calculate that.

I have the interest to see how they do that.

Yeah.

Luther from Kendrick Lamar and Sissa clocked in in that one.

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars had a song in there.

And at number seven, Golden from the movie, I was just going to say, Golden, I was going

to guess that that one had to be in there.

Nice.

Of Melissa, you recently saw the movie, right?

I did.

I got to watch it this weekend with Laura.

And it's actually a really good cartoon.

Yeah.

I enjoyed it.

Very cool.

Yeah.

That's been the talk of the last month or so.

That one.

Pink Pony Club by Sheparone is in at number eight position.

That's an older song, though, by now, isn't it?

It's been out for a year or two.

Yeah.

It's still that.

It's a leg.

Yeah.

I love by Sabrina Carpenter is at number nine and Ray Leans, a love me or not, rounds

out the top 10.

All right.

Yep.

So that's interesting.

Yeah.

2023 was when Pink Pony Club came out.

Wow.

Older than I thought.

A couple of years.

My goodness.

It's a catchy song.

It is.

It is.

It is.

It is one of those songs.

It's hard not to get kind of like.

Pink Pony Club.

The song?

Like, I have to admit.

I don't know the words yet.

Well, I didn't.

And I came across it like a couple months ago.

I was going to come here to work or something and it was on the radio.

And I'm like, oh, this is a really, this is a really powerful song.

Right.

Right.

This release, they really got something here that like, oh, yeah, that came out like two

years ago.

Two years ago.

But hey, you know, staying power.

The world has heard a shaper road and they don't, she doesn't need my help.

Yeah.

She's quite popular these days.

She's good.

She is good.

I like her.

I like the way she has been handling her career in the public eye too.

I like her.

It's been interesting about that.

She could be another Gaga.

She could be another one of those where she, we get to know her as this.

And in years, we start to see the person lady Gaga, we were a long way away from the

Meetsuit.

We're a long way away from where we are.

And that was our introduction to her really.

And now you see where she is.

I think that a similar thing could happen with Shaperone very easily in some ways.

Yeah.

And if you like the song, let us know or what is the song for your summer, everybody?

What is the song?

What have you been listening to?

Man, I love having a song.

I listened to all summer.

I don't listen to it literally every day, but throughout the year, the summer season,

I just keep coming back to.

I have songs that I have done that with forever.

There's a song by Chris Cornell called Seasons that around this time of year, every year,

I listen to.

I mentioned earlier in the summer, summertime from Elephant Cheryl and Louis Armstrong.

That's a perennial one, right?

I listen to it every summer beforehand.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a song that just came out.

Now it's fun when that happens.

Is there a few better feelings in this world than when you discover your new favorite

song?

There's not many feelings that compare to that.

I'm talking about things that other people can't give you or what have you, you know,

just there's a few things like that to find a song that you really love and then just

want to listen to is before the song is even over, you want to hear it again.

Right.

Exactly.

Exactly.

Here's one.

This one just came out.

Let's see.

August 29th.

And it's a summer's ending.

It's called summer's ending soon from one of my favorite bands, The Midnight.

And it's, it's, oh, it's got this, this great end of summer like that melancholy feel.

You always got, you know, back when in high school, it's, it's, oh, it is amazing.

I love it.

Mammoth, the end.

That's the song that I've been listening to the most this summer.

And it's Eddie Van Halen's kid and his band and everything.

And just to have that finger tapping back in my life.

And I'm going to say something that I, I know my father is going to get very angry at

me about.

This is, this is this kid's first album and his finger tapping may, it might be better.

It might be, it's on the same level as his dad.

Okay.

Like, it, it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

Bro, look at my arm, man.

Like, just thinking about it.

It's incredible.

Listen to that song.

It's a really good song.

Eddie Van Halen fans out there.

Oh, I love that.

And he's like top three favorite guitar players of all time at his kid.

It may be better.

He can sing too.

Like, I didn't know he could sing.

It's a great song.

Mammoth, the end.

All right.

Saturday Live, the comedy trio, please don't destroy, have been making pre-filmed comedy

sketches for Saturday Live for the past four seasons, but that has come to an end, unfortunately,

to me, unfortunately.

Right.

Ben Marshall has been promoted to a series regular for the upcoming season while Martin

Hurtley will remain on the writing staff and John Higgins is leaving.

The guys will continue to work on projects outside of SNL, the classic sketches that they

have had have been noteworthy and pretty darn funny.

I think it's been really good to see this go from where Andy Sandberg took the digital

shorts to see it continue.

Lauren will find somebody that will work, but all three of these guys have ties to entertainment

and to comedy and come from comedy families.

They worked really good together.

I hope that they continue to do projects together because I really like what they were doing

there.

But this was always going to happen this season.

I cannot understand the outcry and the craziness from some people when it comes to this.

The only thing that makes less sense to me about people freaking out about Lauren changing

the cast and everything like he's doing because, again, Lauren does this every 10 years pretty

much if not more.

Yeah.

Is what some of these people that are leaving SNL, the way they're talking about their time

there.

Now, Heidi Gardner has been pretty straightforward and pretty honest and everything about it.

But there's a couple of the younger actors that we're on for like a season or two that

are talking about the toxicity working at SNL live.

And their main problem is the schedule.

And I just don't understand some of the, I'm going to be old man yelling at cloud for

a second because I'm running into this with a lot of young entertainers.

This idea of, well, I don't need training.

I made my whole class laugh, my whole sky school career, I'm fine.

Or I had a popular video that got like 10,000 likes.

So I don't need acting training.

I don't need comedy training or anything like that.

There's this idea also of, hey, I did this.

Why am I not famous already?

This instant, like this need for instant gratification or this need to not put in the

work to do this stuff.

And I'm sorry, but if you sign up for a Senate live, you know the job.

You know the stress that is involved.

Everything they're talking about and calling toxic is work.

Like that's the job, man.

You got SNL.

You are performing on Saturday.

So Monday and Tuesday, you're working with your, this new co-star that walks into the

room.

It is that never been there before, more times than not.

And you have your writers and you're trying to come up with sketches and sketch after sketch

after sketch after sketch.

And okay, this one works.

This one doesn't.

They're voting on and everything.

Then you get to Wednesday.

And you can finally actually start acting these out.

And Wednesday and Thursday and Friday, you're trying to hammer this down and then Saturday

it's go time.

Right.

Where do you see the time to breathe?

Like that's the gig, man.

That's the job.

Doing a live show every week is not easy.

I don't understand where this is coming from.

And my generation, our generation I should say has some of this too.

It's not just the younger generation, but I'm running into it so much of it.

I'm also running into plenty of young people that have work ethic that would blow away boomers.

There's plenty of great, it's a mixed bag.

It is not saying it's all this or anything.

Right.

I've never seen it so much with this and this need for fame, this need to, and this need

for, I don't have to earn this.

I don't have to work for it, just give it to me.

I don't think there's anything in life like that, unless of course you're born with

this over spoon in your mouth and your daddy gives you a million dollars on your 18th

birthday.

Right.

And I think part of it has to do with just where media is right now.

YouTube, it seems, and I know it's not, but it seems that way, you know, like you do

like a viral video and all of a sudden, you know, you've got 10 sponsors and you're getting

millions of views, you know, that thing and it seems like it's so easy, right?

You can just go on, put yourself on a camera and do that.

Which is why we hear a lot of kids say, you know, what do you want to do?

You know, I'm going to be a YouTube star, you know, that kind of thing.

Yeah.

And I wonder if that has not crept into the culture more where it seems like it is easier

than ever to become famous.

Yeah.

So I don't know.

We'll see.

They are bringing you on a couple of new members that they have announced, Cam Patterson

of Kill Tony fame, Veronica Slavotska, Slavotsa Wica, a vulture.

She was on Vulture's 2024 comedians, you should know, Tommy Brennan, who made his late

night debut and Jimmy Fallon a little while ago, a couple of others that are being brought

on too.

And, you know, it'll be fun to see these actors work out.

This first season is going to be rough.

This first season, and I love this though.

I don't, I don't know.

SNL ain't going anywhere, at least of right now, it's not.

As long as Lauren Michaels is there, I don't think it is for the next two seasons, they

are under contract.

It ain't going anywhere.

Give these actors an opportunity, give them a chance because, you know what, this all

started out with the not ready for prime time players.

That's right.

And nobody knew who the heck Chevy Chase or John Ballouche were.

Any of them were.

Or Gilda Radner, or any of these periods.

Oh, I didn't hurt any of them.

And now we all know their names.

Yeah.

Give them a chance.

I think it's going to be exciting to see.

I love when this happens.

And I don't know about this.

Netflix has officially run out of ideas.

Netflix's recommendations were already arbitrary and off the mark a lot of the time.

But they just launched a new one, your zodiac watch list.

They're posting recommendations based on astrological signs.

And here are a few examples.

Scorpions are said to be passionate, charismatic, seductive, and mysterious.

So they're suggesting Wednesday.

What?

Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute here.

Leo's are supposedly confident, generous, and loyal.

So they're recommending shows like The Crown and Bridgerton.

I am a Leo, and I could be less interested in both of those shows.

I do love the idea of you sitting there watching Bridgerton.

I'm sorry.

I know.

I know.

I would actually pay buddy to see.

No.

But it does like Sabrina, the teenage witch.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I kind of want to do this just to see what they get wrong.

Like I kind of want to go.

Well, here's the, there's like one thing that anybody that truly does study or

know astrological stuff or anything like that will tell you that there is so

much more to this than just this right they're doing here.

Yeah.

Very tip of the iceberg.

Yeah.

I feel like if you're doing this, you're leaning into people that are interested in those things.

But by doing it this simple and this kind of like generic, I couldn't, it feels like

more like you're insulting those people, right?

It's overly simplistic.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

But how could they do it any differently?

To be honest, you're right.

That's why I would avoid it completely.

I just wouldn't even do it.

That's the thing.

It's like, where did this idea going?

That's the question is like, what, what, when did we stop doing this where if we can't

do it right, we just ain't going to do it.

Like when did we stop doing that?

We have so many half thought of ideas out there that are out there in the world right

now.

Yeah.

In every format, in everything you can think of, not just entertainment, but like all

over the place, this feels like not even a half-baked idea.

This feels like something that, you know, they came up with, like, I don't run with it.

Yeah.

Okay, but I still want to know what is recommended for Aquarius.

Oh, okay.

Yeah.

All right.

Yeah.

And Pisces.

So, yeah.

Yeah.

At least read those two.

Okay.

I don't have a list here of those.

Thank you.

You got to sign in the Netflix for it and everything.

Oh my God.

Seriously?

Yeah.

I can't even look.

I only gave us sets.

What?

Yeah.

Describe any sets.

I didn't even want them.

That's right.

I will try to find that out.

I will try to find that out.

I believe it.

Cause I don't have Netflix.

I guess it doesn't really matter.

I think my parents do.

I have to check.

I'm not sure.

I will.

I think they will have to check.

I know that I'll find out.

That's for sure.

I'm going to find out.

Cause I'm curious.

I want to know.

I also wanted the audience to know and just give them a reminder that our WFHR newsletter

will be premiering this Friday, right, Mo?

Yes.

It's going to come out a day late again this week because of the holiday and because of an

article that I am in the works on at the moment.

Very good.

Very nice.

Yes.

We appreciate that time and that dedication to the craft and what you're doing there, Melissa.

And especially from last week's reporting, you did some great stuff there.

And it's not me saying any of that.

It's our listeners.

We got a lot of good comments from people on that one and everything.

Really appreciate everybody, the feedback that you've given us.

If you haven't done so already, sign up for the WFHR newsletter.

It is your one-stop shop for all sensuous, constant stuff, news, sports, whether we are

covering as much as we possibly can.

Get on over there, sign on up and keep up to date and everything going on in your home.

We appreciate the staff and what they're doing there.

And while you're at WFHR.com, send us your recipes for our 85th edition anniversary cookbook

full of WFHR news.

Yes.

Very exciting.

It's still up in the carousel.

We don't see it right away.

The carousel is like the banner thing at the very top of the page.

Just click the button until you get to what looks like food.

Exactly.

And it's very clear.

Yep.

That's right.

Yep.

We have one of the better, more open giving communities there is.

I know this because every non-profit I talk to talks endlessly about and how much you

give and do to them.

Don't be selfish.

Don't share these recipes.

Yeah.

Don't be selfish.

Share your recipes.

We want them.

We want them in the cookbook.

I'll be enshrined in a cookbook.

They're going to be there forever.

For everybody.

Yeah.

And your name's going to be attached to it.

And you'll be able to, you know, 10, 20, 30 years from now be able to show relatives

and we can't hear you.

Yeah.

And everything we want.

And we need to tease the cover art, James.

We'll talk about it off air, but we might need to tease it.

I'm fine with that if you are.

I like the idea.

So I'm very fine with that.

I think it's going to be fun.

I think we need to do it.

The photo shoot first.

Let's do it.

Let's do that.

And we're looking forward to that.

Please get us your recipes, everybody.

We are collecting these for celebrating WFHR's 85th anniversary, which you are an integral

part of.

We're not here without every one of you out there.

And this is a fun way for us to kind of share in that together with this cookbook.

Get us your recipes.

Absolutely.

And get out of that.

You can even just take a picture with your cell phone and send it to me.

There you go.

Whatever works out.

Whatever the easiest way for you to do it is, just get us those recipes.

We'll work out the details from there.

Appreciate you.

So give us your WFHR.com sign up for that newsletter and get your recipe in.

We'll be back after this.

Up in the morning and out to school.

The teacher is teaching the golden rule.

American history and practical math.

You study them hard, open to pay.

Working your fingers right down to the bone.

And the guy behind you won't leave you alone.

You welcome you back to the morning show here at WFHR, locally grown, Radio Melissa.

Seth and James here with you.

Thanks for joining us, everybody.

Well done with the bumper set.

Nice work there.

All right.

I wanted to touch on this and remind our audience that our friends over at Wisconsin

Rapps Community Theatre are celebrating their golden anniversary with a variety show in

October 11th.

Yeah.

Very cool.

They're going to have light or derives, a reception after, and they're looking for

acts to participate in their anniversary celebration.

We want all you locals out there.

You got a town.

I want to give you a skill.

Bring it to the stage.

I am very, I'm very sad right now about this because Laura told me what she's planning

with Melissa and a few other people and I'm going to miss it.

And I'm so sad.

No, please.

Something recorded for me.

Please.

I love that you're sad about this.

I am sad.

I want to see it.

That's right.

It's going to be so good.

Melissa and Laura are going to be taken to part in this.

I have my own thing that I'm going to be trying to work just a spoken word.

The kind of thing that I'll be doing along with if, now, Gretchen did say if there's time

I can do my Simpson's one match.

Oh, no.

What?

No, Gretchen.

That's what we need.

I'm testing her right now.

That's what we need to fill the stage.

So we can't do it.

Everyone.

Yes.

Please, everybody.

Head on over to wwwrctheator.org.

You can fill out your application to be part of this wonderful event and keep James off

the stage.

I do a great mo.

I do.

I do.

Oh dear.

I want to be a part of this.

This is a really fun way to not only, you know, be a part of things over at wwwrct, but maybe

if you've been on the fence about being a part of a show, here's a chance to get your feet

in the water a little bit.

And this one's easy.

Yes.

Yeah.

And it's about what you want to do.

Do you want to go up there and read a poem?

Do you want to go up there and sing a song?

Do you want to do any of these kind of things?

You can be a part of this anniversary special.

As long as it's not James's one act.

Yes.

Don't steal his stuff, man.

Don't steal his stuff.

Keep in mind, we're also looking for volunteers or people that would just like to be a part of

this, you know, great event.

You've got their accepting applications right now until September 8th, tickets available

until September 15th.

We want a big turnout for this one.

Wisconsin Rapids Community Theater has been a huge economic impact for this community

for 50 years.

They have put into this community often long before the rafters were here, long before

the River Kings.

That's right.

Certain other things.

It's great, you know, not only the rec center, but even the pack, you know, this theater

has been here.

All of the life, everyone, that's what they give.

Not only adding to the economy in this community, but adding to the livelihood of this community.

That's fellowship of this community.

And the cultural enrichment.

Absolutely.

In 50 years, is there any of you out there listening that have never been to that theater?

Have never seen a show, never been entertained by this great organization who will support

them.

Help them celebrate their 50th year.

Let them know.

And I got a great lineup of shows.

Yeah.

You do.

Great 50th season.

Yeah.

Good stuff.

I mean, it's all downhill after the first one.

It's not kidding.

I'm sure.

I could not be joking.

Nice.

I love it.

Yeah.

There's some great great shows all four seasons, all four main stage shows are incredible.

It's here.

And then there's also the silver foxes.

They got some great things coming up in this variety show.

There's always something going on at the theater.

So get involved because just if you've always wanted to help, this is an easy intro because

it's one show.

Get on over there, everybody.

Get on over to wrctheter.org and sign up for those that get the variety show in any way

you'd like to be a part of it.

Get on over there and maybe get tickets for the main stage shows and on the back.

Get on over there.

Get on over there.

You can still get season tickets.

Yeah.

Get on over there, everybody.

We will take a quick time out into our news and sports break.

Take care of our partners.

We'll come back.

And when we do, we're going to be talking about the, where is this here?

The Guinness World Records.

Yeah.

Do you forget that?

If you want to...

It's coming up on the morning show here at WFHR.

Welcome back, everyone.

Mornings on WFHR, locally grown radio.

Serious comedy to start your day.

I don't know this song.

So I was trying, I was trying to have some fun to see.

Can I gauge it?

Can I figure out where it's going to go?

I know.

That's great.

I was kind of wondering when you were going to do that one.

I was curious if you were going to do the Taylor Swift song.

So you did it really good.

It makes me happy.

We're getting into the season.

I appreciate the work you put into these and we're getting into the summer, into the

school season here.

Yeah, that's right.

You're going to have a bunch of school.

But that's somebody does.

Guinness World Records just turned 70.

The first Guinness Book of World Records came out on August 27th, 1955.

Wow.

And to celebrate, they shared a list of 70 records.

No one's attempted yet, so the bar is still low.

They added a section to their site called Record Selector that supposed to tell you which

ones you'd have the best chance at.

Your answer, you answer five personality questions and it splits out a few records you might

want to attempt.

So guess what?

We're going to do everybody.

Oh, we're going to do it right now.

All right.

We're going to do it together.

Live on the air together.

Yes.

Why have they not done this before?

Why did it take them so long?

This is a great idea.

I really do like this, though.

Yeah.

You too.

Yeah, I think they should have done this a long time ago.

So our first question, when facing a tough challenge, how do you tackle it?

I stay calm and pace myself or I'm all about getting it done quickly or I focus on

the details or I'm the master of thinking outside the box.

That's about one.

Okay.

We kind of do this for James because he's the one that wants to do this.

So I'll help him along here.

I clicked that one that Melissa said because I think that's the one that the three of us

have been thinking outside the box.

I think she's right.

I think she nailed that.

Number two, which of these activities sounds like you at your record-breaking pet best?

A long distance race or an endurance record, building something intricate against the

clock, memorizing complex information or some sort of performance.

Oh, my.

Pretty easy one.

I think the performance one is probably, I think we'll throw that one out there.

Yeah, but I think between all of us, we could do all of those things.

Although it's really good.

If we were all one person, yes, we could really figure that out.

Number three, in any groups you're part of, which role has your name written all over

it?

A, the motivator, B, the pace setter, C, the perfectionist, or D, the entertainer?

Wow.

That's your entertainer.

I think we're all on entertainment, so let's go with that.

Yeah.

Let's do that.

This is something that when bringing both of you on, that I did think quite a bit about

of covering basis of, okay, this person can cover these things and do these really well

and compliment this about the other person.

The three of us are a true unit and a true team where we bring out the best in each other

but also accelerate at things that the others don't.

It's very intentional on my part.

I did not think about any of that when we were doing this though.

I really wish, throw it out the window.

I really wish I had asked you guys in the hiring process, get us world record questions.

I really feel like I messed this up.

Oh, man.

Entertainer, I think I'll click entertainer to keep this movement.

Can you tell us which type of challenge you would most enjoy?

A, an endurance feat, B, a speed test, C, crafting something so massive or intricate,

or D, a stunt so well, it'd make the world go wow.

Well, I would obviously choose C, but I thought of Melissa for that one.

I don't know.

As a group though.

James would probably do an A, but...

I think the stunt, I think this, the...

It has to be stunt.

I think it's got to be a stunt.

I think a stunt is where we go although I do love the idea of crafting something intricate

and all that.

And massive or something like that.

I think it'd be fun to make the world's giant and the biggest pizza or whatever.

Right, right.

That's already been done.

Yes, that'd be a tough one.

And lastly, how do you personally define success?

A, pushing yourself so far.

High five, your limits, with way past them.

B, leaving the competition in the dust.

C, mastering skills so well.

You make the experts look like amateurs.

Or D, creating something so unique.

Even your family can say it's been done.

Everybody can say it's been never been done before.

Right, right.

I like D personally.

Yeah, I think we're going to go with D.

Yeah, agreed.

Agreed.

Very unique.

We did it.

We're submitting and let's see what we get here.

Congratulations.

You're a creative trailblazer.

Okay.

All right.

Your creativity, expression, and originality make you a standout.

Thanks.

So here are some, be the first to set any of these records.

Okay.

Most cinemas visited in one month.

Ooh.

Oh.

How fun would that be?

Interesting.

Yeah.

Also, fastest 10 meter, hold, fastest 10 millimeter meter.

10M is what it says.

I'm guessing.

Yeah.

10M, fastest 10M holding a balloon between your knees.

Oh, God.

10 meters.

Holding a balloon.

Yeah, yeah.

So James could do that one.

I definitely would do that one.

I think you could do that one.

And I want to do this one.

Most coffee houses visited in one month.

Oh, wow.

Do you do two in one?

Yeah.

Kill two birds with one stone.

Yeah.

Visit the coffee and the cinema in every town.

Yep.

You could visit multiple coffee shops in the same town.

And some towns have multiple cinemas.

That's true.

Wow.

You could do that just in Wisconsin easily, actually.

So, yeah.

I want to get on these to the point where I've already pulled up a map.

Oh, right.

Here we go.

Let's find out.

Did they only give us three choices?

Logistics.

It does say that if you want more, you can keep going.

And then it just starts to give you kind of like a broad kind of things.

Like if you're curious, you know, there's a bunch of, click the category.

Oh, got a precision.

Yeah.

Gets a little more specific.

Oh.

With a, there's a category with a friend or pet.

Oh, okay.

And there's under 16 category for, you know, things for kids, right?

Yeah.

That's cool.

This is very cool.

You can go to GuinnessWorldRecords.com to find the complete list.

GuinnessWorldRecords.com.

Where is this big?

Now let us know what you would want to tackle.

Absolutely.

Yeah.

You can go to UPI.com if you would like to complete list.

Now they pulled out some that they thought were pretty interesting ones.

Like most high fives in 30 seconds.

I want that record.

That one has like a very quick turnover too.

You can get that done very quickly.

I've wondered my whole life while I was born with these gigantic hands.

Now I know.

It's the breakdown record.

It's just calling.

I just hold.

I will just hold my hand up and people could just high five.

That's it.

Oh, we just get a whole group of line of people and just yeah.

Yeah.

You could do this as a first date or back to school activity.

Yes.

Oh my gosh.

All the kids up around the baseball field or football field and have them all run by.

Yeah.

That's a good thinking, Melissa.

Yeah.

I mean, they do it after soccer games.

Yeah.

How about a graduation?

Oh.

I mean, you could get all the students all lined up.

You know, just get stand right there and just let them go by.

That'd be awesome.

How about fastest time to make a burrito?

No, I'm the fastest burrito maker in the West.

Does the burrito have to stay together?

Does the burrito have to taste good?

See, now that's the bigger thing on mine.

Yeah, man.

I don't care how fast it is.

I want to know if it's good.

And how much stuff is in it?

Like, there's some parameters here.

We need to know.

You do need to have certain parameters.

Yes.

Yes.

Longest marathon playing air guitar.

Wait, wait.

What about that Finland air guitar competition thing we covered?

Yes.

I don't know if they'd have broken it, but apparently not.

No, but they don't have a merit.

See, now they need a marathon.

It's attached to it now in order to do that, right?

Right.

That's pretty good.

Yeah.

Phase two next year.

I like that.

I like that.

The most anchovies eaten in one minute.

Yay.

I mean, I've never eaten an anchovy, but I don't know.

I'm not eating contests for me.

No, never.

Anchovies are very salty.

That's the thing.

So that's why.

Whoa.

One minute and then you're going to drink water for the next six hours.

It's farthest distance by leapfrog jumps in one hour.

Okay.

Okay.

Fastest time to arrange a set of scrabble tiles in alphabetical order.

Ooh.

That would be fun.

That would be fun.

Alphabetizing.

I think it's sick of singing the alphabet song.

A greatest height to drop an egg without breaking it.

Ooh.

Oh.

Onto Watto.

Yeah.

Well, see, that's, I mean, parameters, Ian, yeah.

Longest paper clip chain in one minute.

Well, that'd be fun.

You can do that one, yeah.

Longest video game marathon playing row blocks.

You're probably going to need young people for that one.

So I was going to say this is for the under 16, right?

Yeah, right.

Yeah.

I saw a stat the other day.

70% of the youth is on that.

Yeah.

That's incredible to me.

That's incredible.

I could not believe I did.

It's amazing.

I genuinely didn't believe that number.

I had to look like three different articles to see if that...

No, that can't be right.

I don't know if I've heard of something.

A thing like that, the kids, all kids are...

Like, Minecraft wasn't even that big.

No.

And I thought that was gigantic.

No.

Yeah, but I think row blocks is free, isn't it?

To play and to do other things.

Anyway, yeah.

I didn't know.

So I was bowing out.

I thought you were going to do that.

Oh, it is free.

Yes.

You can download and play it for free.

But if you want certain upgrades, same thing.

Like a lot of games.

I can add purchases.

Yeah, exactly.

I kind of like the idea of doing this one.

Like, I'd be really sore.

I would not be really sore, but I'd be really sore at myself.

Oh.

The most cans crushed with your foot in one minute.

Ooh.

Wow.

I'm sneaky good at this.

Oh, I believe you.

I'm sneaky good at this.

Again, the size 12's cut the clown shoes for feet coming handy.

Right.

I've been able to do two cans at once before with my foot.

Nice.

Wow.

But do you get to wear shoes?

Oh, God, I hope so.

Yeah.

Wow.

That's an interesting thing.

Oh.

Oh.

Well, because if you can't, I mean, you can't cut feet.

Yeah.

That's a good point.

Obviously, put.

Most fortune cookies eaten in one minute.

Those are so dry a lot of times.

Yeah.

And you have to read the fortunes, though.

Otherwise, it's just like any other eating contest.

You have to break it in half, eat one side, read the thing, then eat the other side, then

do it that.

How many do you need to do that in a minute?

Yeah.

The sister always wanted the fortunes, but didn't like the cookies.

I love the cookies and just give her the fortune.

Yeah.

We liked them so much.

We would buy like a box of fortune cookies just to do that, by the way.

Most headbands worn at once.

Even with my migraines, I would do that one.

I would like, I think that'd be fun to do.

Does it have to be on your head?

Oh.

Oh.

Again, parameters.

We need to know.

Yeah.

Yeah, parameters.

I mean, I'm scrawny enough.

Man, I think I could put them around my waist.

You could do that.

Most nightmares about headbands I wore in grade school.

Oh, yeah.

It's so painful behind the ears.

Yeah, definitely moved from that one.

Most treats balanced on a dog's nose in 30 seconds.

I don't care.

I don't like that.

Well-trained dog has to do that one.

Yeah.

Yeah.

It's about you.

You're showing off to look what I made my dog do.

Look at how I make my dog do this.

The dog is just like, what's going on, man?

Why?

Just give me the treat.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Most t-shirts put on in one minute.

I can't believe that hasn't been done.

James, I mean, you've got the t-shirts.

You could do it.

Yes, I have the t-shirts.

So, I mean, seriously, you could do it.

You could do it.

I actually think that we might have to do that one.

We might have to try that one now.

Honestly, one that I genuinely would love to attempt.

I don't think I would even come close.

But if nobody's ever done it before, I'd at least had the first.

Fastest time to ascend the height of Everest by bike.

Oh.

If you buy a bike.

Now, you got the money.

Is that possible?

You got the money, the time to train for this.

I mean, that just seems so difficult for me.

That would be wild.

That would be wild.

That sounds like it'd be fun.

Now, getting down?

I don't know.

Getting down, I'm not sure about it.

I'm not taking this bike down there.

I'm not taking this bike down there.

Where's the elevator?

Where's the elevator?

Yeah, where's the elevator?

And finally, most woopy cushions sat on

in one minute by a team or two of two.

A team of two.

Oh, man.

Finally, there's already been the record set by one.

By a single person, they need a team of two to do it.

Wow.

Okay, but are the woopy cushions inflated before you start?

They have to.

I would think so.

Yeah.

Because otherwise, I mean, if it was like just doing the same

woopy cushion over, that wouldn't be many.

Yeah.

In a minute.

I like that one.

But I'm stuck on the coffee house one.

I want to break this record.

Both coffee houses visited in a month.

Movies would be fun, too.

Doing assignments.

Okay, but when you visit them, do you have to purchase?

I would.

Because that could get pricey.

Yeah, that could.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You need a sponsor.

Yeah, I was just going to say, we get a sponsor for this one.

And yes, sponsor for it.

Yeah, there you go.

They're going to reach out to travel with Consum.

I'm going to reach out to them.

I mean, Wisconsin Rapids has a lot of coffee houses.

Yeah, alone.

It's like 18,000, 19,000 people here.

I mean, yeah.

Between Rapids and Point, you'd have to be halfway done.

I mean, seriously.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I mean, he's point half.

Oh my gosh.

And a shout out to every single one of them.

Yeah.

I appreciate every one of those coffee shops.

Yeah.

By local support, local everybody.

And let us know, as Melissa brought up, let us know which Guinness record you would break.

Or which one?

At least attempt.

Yeah.

Let us know we'd love to hear from you.

Or here's another one.

Which one would you like to see us attempt?

They'll be at the Fine Arts Center.

We got to talk about this yesterday with our friends at McMillan.

It was a great conversation and a really great band that sounds like.

Look up Pony Folk.

Check them out.

Oh my God.

Everybody fun band.

This is the best description I heard of them when I did check these guys out.

They say they're a cross between early Pink Floyd and the Lord of the Rings soundtrack.

Yeah.

It's really interesting.

I have got to hear that.

Fascinating.

Yeah.

It's a really interesting band.

Yeah.

Check them out tomorrow right here in town.

Everybody over at McMillan.

For free.

All the great stuff they're doing over there at McMillan.

And in particular this concert series that they have to go on.

It's really cool.

Yeah.

And we got to talk to our friends at this Dork Point Boss about their harvest fair coming up.

It'll be this Saturday, September 6th from 10 to 4.

They're going to have some fun with this one.

You can sign up for the forging class for beginners as well, which is something that sounds so darn cool.

They're going to have...

You can purchase lunch from the Heart of Wisconsin genealogically, genealogically a society.

Yeah.

Check that out as well.

And keep in mind our friends at this Dork Point Boss.

If you've gone to this event in the last 10 years, the price has not changed.

No.

Name me the thing like that that you know of anybody.

The gang over there does this on purpose.

They want this to be affordable to the community.

They want it to be affordable to families.

Let's support them like they support us.

Yeah.

Let's show up at these events.

Get to them.

Sign up for that forging class for beginners if you can.

And more at their website, historicpointboss.com.

all of them are actually on our community calendar, which is at WFHR.com.

We have a calendar there that's got all the information and links to a lot of these places as well for more information.

So we do encourage you to do that.

And I'm not just saying that because I'm the one that does the calendar.

Well, he might be saying that because he's the one that does the calendar.

But it's a great tool, everyone.

So check that out while you're on the website, getting the newsletter or signing up, giving us a recipe.

Whatever you do there.

Thank you.

That's exactly what I wanted to mention.

I want to remind everybody to share those recipes.

Be a shareer.

Share those recipes with us.

We want more of them.

We love sharing food in recipes.

That's what it's all about, right?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Get them to us, everybody.

We usually wrap up with good stories of the day.

I do have one or two if we have time for it.

But I did want to touch on this one with the record breaking we were talking about.

No.

Records being broken.

Just kind of a not so much of that ain't right story, but kind of a funny story.

An Idaho man took 96 hits to the face with wet sponges in a single minute, recapturing an unusual Guinness World record title in the process.

David record breaker rush and frequent collaborator Jonathan Hollywood Hanon previously held the record for the most wet sponges thrown in one minute in a team of two of 92.

But they were later written by another that had 93.

The record requires the sponges thrown by one participant in this case.

Hanon to strike the second participant rush in the face.

The real challenge is you need open.

You need my I need my eyes open to track the sponge and make the micro adjustment to make sure that it hits him in the face.

So he has to keep his eyes open when it's coming at him.

The duo managed to recapture the title with 96 wet sponges to rush his face.

Rush who personally holds 181 records said the latest achievement marked his 47th jointy held record with Hanon.

So this one is a now a world record.

It's been done multiple times and no one's done the most cinemas in a month.

Yeah.

Yeah, right.

What?

It's more fun to throw wet sponges at the face.

I guess I would like to try to top this throwing wet sponges at Seth.

I was going to say who I know you're aiming at someone specifically.

Well, you're obviously not not participating in this one.

I think I think we finally found the record we can break.

I think I think we found it.

I think we got the what?

I think they'll see be motivated for sure.

I actually or or how about a Georgia group that played kickball for 52 hours to break that world record?

Whoa.

No, no, thank you.

Are you sure?

I love football.

No, I think I can do that.

52 hours.

Do you know how many days that is?

Did I already just thinking about it?

Well, you guys keep telling me I need to take a vacation.

Like, come on.

That is not a vacation.

That is not a vacation.

Is that what you meant?

He doesn't know.

He is so confused.

I know you like sleep deprivation, but the rest of us do not.

There is no pleasing you to sometimes.

I said I would take days off of work to do this.

That's a vacation, isn't it?

I got to look up what definitely.

You really need to figure out what a vacation is.

Yeah, we have two very different holidays.

A holiday.

You need to take a holiday.

Oh, no, wait a minute.

No, wait.

That sounds interesting.

Wait, you have me there.

Oh, Lord.

You need to invent a holiday just to fool him into thinking it's something real, right?

Please do.

Tonight's Powerball is up to 1.3 billion, but a guy in Maryland forgot he'd already bought

a Powerball ticket for August 20th drawing last month, so he brought another one with the

same numbers and won a million bucks.

Hey, whoa.

Wow.

How about that?

Not bad at all.

And that group of, I'm sorry, I meant to finish that story up.

In Georgia, the broke the world record over the weekend playing kickball 50 to ours.

They raised a bunch of money for a good cause.

The nonprofit is called most.

It's short for men opposing sex trafficking.

The event raised over 200 grand, and it's the third record like that that they've broken.

They also broke records for a longest softball game and longest basketball game.

How about that?

Combined, they have raised over $800,000.

Wow.

Let's remarkable.

Along with bringing attention to a cause like this, it doesn't get enough attention in things

like that.

That is a part of what the record breaking thing we could do is bringing it to a, you know,

a bringing a cause to it or something.

Right.

Yes.

The date for Seth to wash his face.

Yes.

Fun show today.

Great job.

Have a good day, everybody.

Be good to each other out there.
