Five for five on the intros this week, Terry. Oh, nailed it. That's so good. We hope you
all are having a great one out there. Thanks so much for joining us. James here behind the
mic. Join by CEO of your net away of Southwood and his county's Terry Johns. Good morning.
Have the band together on a Friday. We got the whole hour to play. We're going to have
some fun. Everybody got some entertainment news. We're going to kick off with get to what's
new on your small screen, big screen near local theater stages. A little bit later, the average
dog owner, how many decisions a month through they make based on their pet? I think the
number might be surprising to some and it might be low to some. We're going to get into
that. We got other fun stuff. We'll dive into a little bit later as well, but kicking off
with entertainment. Have you? I don't know. Are you an Adam Sandler fan? Do you like Adam
Sandler movies? Okay. Just as a 90s kid, I don't want to assume, but I kind of figured
you at least like him a little bit. If not, enjoy him. Did you see the new happy Gilmore?
Are you going to? I, you know, I didn't, but both of my girls have watched it. And so
it was, yeah, it was kind of funny that my sister was like, definitely watch. So there's
so many cameos like watch the first one. You know what I mean? Just for fun. But of course
we've seen the first one a million times. So we haven't watched it yet, but I've heard,
you know, that it's as expected, you know, for a second. Like, right. I think if you take
in mind, which I don't know how you don't do this, but I think if you take in mind, it's
been 20 some years. And, you know, not only have, I think the thing that I think a lot of
people are missing is they did, they did what would I would think as a, as a fan would
want. I would want them to evolve the show because I don't want to see Adam Sandler trying
to be like he was in the 90s. He can't do that anymore. That would be not only ridiculous,
but really sad and lame. And he probably wouldn't be able to do it. And so I want to see
them do something 20 some years later. What these characters have happened to these characters
and adding to that doing something in modern times, while also giving it that 90s field,
I feel like check, check, check. They did everything. One thing I didn't get to mention about
the movie though, that I think is really noteworthy to golf fans out there. This movie at one
and one scene, and I'm not trying to spoil anything here, but one scene has pretty much
every legend golf has ever had. That's what, that's what my girl said. I get goosebumps
thinking about, I've never seen golfers like this before. And we're talking big name,
current names too, like Scotty Sheffler and all that. And not only are they in the movie,
they're in it a lot. They have lines and they're hilarious. Jack Nicholson's comedic timing
is as good as his golf timing. I did not know this about this man. He's amazing. He's
so hilarious. It was great. Like that alone, I would think if your golf fan is worth watching
it. You never see golfers like this. And on top of that, they didn't have to do this.
Like that they wanted to do it. I think it's even makes it even better. I think they appreciate
it because the original Happy Gilmore finally put a little humor with golf. You know what I mean?
Like I think they, they get it. Like we're in a stuffy, serious, you know, kind of kind
of role. So no, I don't know. I think, I think it's awesome. 100% agree with you. I tip my
hat to golfers for doing this to golf world for doing this. I think it's very cool.
And they're at your break. There's a ton of cameos in it. The biggest artist in the
world, bad bunny, isn't it? Quite a bit and everything. And the other biggest artist
in the world apparently might be in it as well. Taylor Swift. If you haven't seen Happy
Gilmore by now, there is a dream sequence that goes on. And again, not spoiling anything.
But through it, Swifties are wishful thinking that it's Taylor Swift in there that bad
bunny's imagining in the costume and everything. Sadly, it's not. Sandler shut down the rumor
that it was Taylor Swift, but there are some people out there because Travis Kelsey is
also in it that assumed that she would be in it. No, no, they can do things on the road
and everything. But I do appreciate that not only Travis and Kelsey, Travis and Taylor
were having some fun with this, but that Taylor was being so supportive to him about it.
I think that people are missing. Okay. Now, Taylor Swift shows up at a Kansas City chief
scheme. Oh, she's doing this to sell albums. Do you really think the Taylor Swift needs
help doing this? Or the Taylor Swift is going out there? Oh, they're not talking about
me. I need to get out there. Can't, could it possibly be just out of the, the most naive
part of my body that maybe she's there because she wants to see him play? I mean, you know,
the support supporting your boyfriend. That's interesting. You know, I, I, I, I, I,
I don't concept I go. No, it's a new thought. And I, and I completely admit that it might
be naive, but sometimes things are Occam's razor. Sometimes the simplest answer is the
solution. She might just actually be doing these things because she likes being there watching
footballer or supporting him or whatever it is. I don't believe that Taylor Swift, she
could be the most insecure human being on the planet. And I don't believe that she is
going out. Oh, they got it. They got to go to that chief scheme. I got to make it
that a chief scheme. So people are talking about me. Like, you never forget the NFL doesn't
need Taylor Swift. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I said that the wrong way. Taylor Swift doesn't
need the NFL. She's perfectly fine. She doesn't need any of this. If she's doing it, I'm guessing
she's doing it because she, there's some, maybe, maybe it's a, it's a little, a column
A, a little column B. Maybe it's a little up. Oh, I get my name out there. And I'm supporting
him. But it starts with, I got a thing, you know, one way or another. Another interesting
bit of news here. It was just announced that Carrie Underwood is going to be coming back
for a 13th year at Sunday night football on NBC. It's the 20th anniversary of the show.
So it's a pretty big deal. And Carrie is just excited. She said that they had a blast
filming the opening sequence. She's really excited for people to see it. You can listen
to Carrie sing it again during the week one of Sunday night football, which kicks off
September. So I bought some more Ravens and Buffalo Bills. Oh, that's a good one. Here
it comes. It's only a month away. She has a lot of fun with these. And I think she does
a good job with them. Oh, yeah, she's great. So I don't, I don't know. I would keep bringing
her out as long as she wants to do it. And it's, it's really hard nowadays. Not that hard,
but I think it's a little harder than maybe I would realize. Oh, how do I pick an artist
that's pretty universal? That, you know, that, that isn't oversaturated in the market,
but also people. I know this fan in this city and this fan in this city is going to enjoy.
That's a pretty tough ask. She fits the bill. She fits the bill pretty good. And she
does a great job with those. And it's not just because it's Carrie Underwood and you know,
well, I mean, it kind of does it hurt? It's her. It's her as a total person. Terry, I tried
something and I've been doing this a little bit more and more. I, of course, you know,
listeners out there, key listeners know out there. I do two back-to-back morning shows.
I do two hours over on the Sunrise show on our sister station 10555WRI from 7 to 9. I come
over here. I, I trek the long journey across the hall to come over here and probably blow out your
shoes. I have twisted an ankle before and that told me I was old. But I, I, I do this and I,
one of the things I like to do is incorporate our stations together and do some crossover stuff
when we can. And so I tease this story over there and we're going to land it here. And it was
that Tim McGraw shaved his head. So Tim shaved his head and is now completely bald. He was
photographed recently heading to the studio, sporting the look. Without his signature cowboy
head, it's almost hard to recognize him. But he's still got a jacket, you know, he's still got
a very much to sing along. I don't think he's hard to recognize. Not at all. I don't know what
people are talking about. You never really knew him with hair. So what is, I was just a big deal.
It's more a big deal. Maybe that he's not wearing a cowboy hat. Not so much that he shaved his head.
I mean, I don't know exactly what the motivation was. I'm guessing thinning hair. I don't, I don't,
I don't know that. But thank you for not doing the comb over. Yes. Thanks for just shaving it off.
Yes. Yes. As a society, we all thank you, Mr. McGraw, for doing the right thing here.
I have 100% on this one. I was joking about it with Seth and everything and I've
joked about it on the on the air many times. Everybody in the world is going to know when I start
going bald. When I start losing my hair, I mean, because I'm going to shave it all off. I
mean, I for one, to be fair, my hair is not the type that I could even do a comb over if I wanted.
I have bows of the clown hair. I've crussied the clown hair. My, you know, Jewish Italian
Egyptian hair is not going to be not built for comb over, not built for construction. It does
what it wants. And that's it. And you just work with it and hope that it looks somewhat decent.
You don't scare for the best. You don't scare little children with it.
So you'll know when I start going bald, it's all going. But I've never understood the comb over.
I've never understood the idea of hanging on to. It must just be a security thing.
Yeah. And a bad barber. Because why don't they just tell you or drop it off?
Yes. Why doesn't somebody that loves you tell you don't? That's not looking good.
Here's another thing I thought of too though. And especially with the Tim McGraw story here.
In this day and age, if you don't want to go bald, you really don't have to. I mean,
there's a lot of options out there. There are. But granted, I am not done a lot. I'm not done
any homework on any of these. I don't know the prices of them or anything like that. But it just
feels like every other commercial is a, hey, you want to keep your hair? Here you go. When
my uncle, my uncle Rich, who I loved, respected, miss him every day. My uncle Rich was the one guy
I knew that did the plugs and I was thinking in one person and I'm not, I'm not just, I mean,
just someone that I knew that had them. And I just, and I just remember those commercials from like
the eight, probably the 90s, right? The really early 90s, like the hair plugs for men.
Yes. And like I said, I'm not dissing it. But it was very obvious at the time because they were
such straight rows. Yeah. While they were, you know what I mean? Like during the process,
it was so interesting. I worked with an actor years back. So this is at least four or five years
ago. And we were talking about this. And I do this bit with my, because my, for some reason,
my scalp is a little loose. So I can like pull, tug on my hair and I act like it's a wig.
It's not. I mean, you could drag my hair all over the place here if you want. So your brain's
not fully, your brain's definitely developed to fill all that skin. Apparently, yeah, apparently,
that's probably part of it. That's not shocking to anybody. And as a side note, if I,
if I, who could create a wig like this? Who would wear a wig like this? Nobody wants my hair.
But I did that as a joke. And this actor was like, oh, mine comes completely off. And,
and does this thing where it's, it's a wig, but it's a to pay, but it was embedded in with
their skin. So it's like, I don't know what you call that a weave or whatever. Oh, okay. But
there's a billion different, and I didn't even know this was a technology that existed. Like,
there's a million different ways nowadays. If you don't want to go bald, you can be 90 and
have an, you know, Willie Nelson hair. You can, you can do that now. But you shouldn't. No, I don't,
I don't recommend it. But you could. You really don't want any. There's no excuses anymore
about going bald if you don't want to. And especially you got Tim McGraw money. So the fact that he's
going by and hired, I think that's cool. Now, it also could all be for an acting role. It could
just be doing it for an acting role. Who knows? But I thought it was interesting. I wanted to get
your take on it. So you've already seen the picture. Yeah, it's not, it's not last night. It's
good. Yeah. I like the, I like the shoes better. I think he's got some cool shoes there. What's
new on your small screen, new on your big screen and your local theater stage? Well, on A&E tonight
at seven o'clock, the 21st season of the deadliest catch premieres. I find that I didn't know
that was still on. Interesting. Be either. Serious premiere of Chief of War. Birthday boy, Jason
Mamoa stars in this one. Looks really good, actually. And on HBO Max, you got final destination
bloodlines. That movie that just came out a month ago or whatever. Saturday, we can't wait.
2025 pro football, Hall of Fame, ex entrimant ceremony. There's some good guys going in this year,
but I don't know about anybody else. And I do not want to speak for Wisconsinites. But I feel like
this state, I know I will be locked in on seeing sterling sharps in production speech. I'm very much
looking forward to it. Yeah, I'm interested in that too. I am also somebody that is my favorite
packer of all time. And also somebody that I never thought this day was going to happen. I did not
think he was going to get into Hall of Fame with a seven year career. I am very happy that that was
wrong. I like being wrong. And this is going to be one of my top 10 favorite moments. I do. I really
do because when I'm wrong, I learn. I'm one of those weird human beings that my confidence isn't
rocked because somebody thinks I'm stupid. You can think whatever you want to me. I don't care.
It doesn't affect my confidence. What I do like more is learning something and being surprised
in this day and age, it takes a lot to surprise me. I was surprised. The NFL got it right here.
He belongs in the Hall of Fame. That man, you can't, you can know nothing about football. Watch sterling
sharp take, take any of the many, many passes that he did cutting in. Any of his cut in passes,
just that. Look what he did with those. Look at the hits he took or the hits he didn't take
because he was so smart at taking those, taking those inside catches. There is no way you can
convince me that there is a Brett Favre without sterling sharp. You can't. You listen to Brett Favre
and the interviews. Listen to him talk about it. Listen to him say, I was trying to figure this out.
I didn't know what I was doing as a quarterback early on. He's throwing the ball in places where
you should not be throwing it and sterling still catching it. He's taking a massacre of hits
while he's doing it to the point that it shortened his career. This is something they both
talked about. An interview was in everything. I'm not saying anything that opinionated here.
I'm saying something they've talked about. I as a kid didn't pick up on this stuff. I was
blown away by the toughest wide receiver I'd ever seen. I think there's a couple that you
could mention in that argument. But to this day pound for pound, I don't know if there's a
tougher wide receiver that ever played the game in sterling sharp. Can't wait to see his
hall of fame's induction speech. That'll be this Saturday at noon or one o'clock on ESPN.
Let's see here. And those are the big ones on the small screen on your big screen. Of course,
the big movies are still in the theaters. Superman Fantastic Four. A lot of people are going to be
seeing those. I've not heard of anybody going to Fantastic Four, but I've heard from some people
that went to Superman that really, really liked it. Yeah. I've heard from both camps and both
movies. Very good. I've heard from a lot of people. Bad guys, too, animated movies. So for the
family, for the kids, a lot of people are going to be excited about that one. But nostalgia fans out
there are really excited about the naked gun, the revamping of this PG-13. Liam DeWazit.
Yeah, yeah. I got to see it. I got to see it. It's written. I don't know if it's directed, but
no, it was written by, co-written by Seth MacFarland family guy, a lot of those. So you got a
very, a guy who not only grew up on those movies, but a guy who was continued to kind of that kind
of style of comedy in the family guy and the other show he did and all the stuff he's done.
Even the Orville and some of those shows, the non-animation stuff he's done, Seth MacFarland has,
I don't mean this is a shot at him because actually Seth MacFarland is very talented. He can sing,
he can dance, he can do a lot of that stuff. But he's kind of a one-trick pony in comedy. He kind
of goes to one wheelhouse most of the time. If you've watched one episode of Family Guy, you've seen
them all. That's not a shot at him. He's made a great career out of that and it works perfectly
for the naked gun series. So if anybody's going to revamp this series, it's him, I think. And it
looks good. I think the trailer look good. Like Liam Neeson doing this is perfect casting.
If it's going to work, this is the way it's going to work. So we'll see. And when it came out,
I mean, I would say, of course, you were more worldly than I, but I would say I was at the age where
it was like, you know, we were watching it, but should we have been watching? You know, I mean,
like there was just content that you were like on the bubble on for your age. And so it's like,
there was just so much of the whole like growing up. I don't know. Like that's so for me,
it's more definitely just a nostalgic kick than more than anything. I don't know about you,
but I those movies airplane. I'm like, seven, eight years old watching those movies, man. I'm like,
yeah. Yeah. So that went to put me like, you know, 12ish. And so yeah, it's just like, uh, yeah.
PG 13 also in this Pamela Anderson, Buster Rhymes, Weirdel, Yankevic, all into it as well.
And PG 13 now would have been our then. Oh, yeah. Definitely, definitely. Yeah.

struggling. Welcome back to the show, everybody. I had some local stuff that I wanted to touch on
here in a moment. We'll get to that in a second here. But we love covering world records and
Guinness world records and stuff. And this one stood out to be Terry. I wanted to get your take on
a California woman who loves golfing broken unusual Guinness world record by putting 711
T's into her hair. Golf T's for those that don't know that little T that holds up to golf ball.
And Aya Banishesh is 45 and she earned the title for most golf T's in their hair when her friends
spent 47 minutes helping her fill her locks with small wooden pegs.
Quote, I've always dreamed of being in the Guinness world records book that's totally been a
dream of mine. I wanted to create something around the golf world and thought this would be a great
idea. She said her record was inspired by Joel Stressler, a serial record breaker who with multiple
titles who put for putting objects into his beard, he's gotten many records for that.
So she was just kind of like picking up where he, you know, he has idea. And I'm trying to see
hear me. Right. If it's a dream of hers and she's able to fulfill it, all good. To me, I'd be like,
what could I be doing instead? Yeah, right. Yeah. Whether it is taking a nap or reading a book,
I believe in the toilet. I don't know. I don't know. I'm not good about that. But it is, it's actually
kind of cute. I mean, they did a really cool, like if they're going to do it, this is the way to do it.
With our pig tails and yeah, they're working in the bridge. So it's in pig tails and she's got longer
blonde brownish hair. But you know what, it looks like to me from the distance that I, it looks like
perm rods. Like when you see your hair perm, you know what I mean? Like the way that they that they
put them in my answer. Yeah. Yeah. It's cute. Pink. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, they're colored based on
the size on the, on the diameter. Yeah. So she, yeah, depending upon the size of curl, she's looking
for her. She got a pig. She looks a lot like that. That's interesting. I, I don't, it's, I can't
think of things that I love like that. Like lots of other, I guess, streams or aspirations,
besides getting in the Guinness Book of World Records. But good honor. I do. I would love now,
so myself, I don't really care about getting into the Guinness World Records. But our, our show,
I really would like to. Oh, there you go. I would love to find a way to, and I've talked about
this for a while now. I want to find a way to get our show into the Guinness World Records,
or at least attempt it, at least try, or something that gets like the city involved,
like where they have those contests, most biggest pizza made or whatever, and the whole city gets
involved with it. I think doing something like that would be fun for rapids. I think we could do
something like that. And part of what makes me think about it is actually, you know, working with
you many years and seeing how people come together for these different events. And I talk to people
at events, United Weekend is a great example, where I've talked to plenty of people over the years,
so we'll be a part of that event, but maybe they don't know, they don't like baseball, and they don't
normally go to baseball, but they go to that game. But they come down because they believe in the
cause, they believe in what you guys are putting together, you and the rafters, and the United
Way and the rafters and all that. So I think that this town is particularly really good for the idea
of, hey, even if you don't care about a Guinness record, you want to put rapids on the map,
or you want to do something like that, I think we could do something. We could fill your studio
here with marshmallows, right? And people could see it from the outside. Oh, yes, yes.
Oh, it'd be horribly busy. I got to try to, I got to try the broadcast while it's going on.
Oh, yeah, I have to. You have to swim your way. Yes, yes. What? Oh, what about you? No,
no, you imagine though, I have how many that would be, that as you were saying that and I was
getting excited and shocked at our engineering team. Oh, totally. We're losing their minds.
Like, what are you talking about? James, you're an idiot. This is why it pays to go to school
for radios. I mean, it would be funny though. Something that could be observed, you know, like
through the side of the fish bowl. Yes, like through the glass. And it has to be something that's
like happening to you. Yeah, yeah, we're around you. I know we're going to come up with something
and the more and more we're talking about it, I feel like you're going to be a part of it. You're
going to help us. I mean, an instigator. Yeah, yeah, all of the above work. They're no different to
me, instigating or coming up with ideas. They're the same thing to me. One of the talks on local
theater last night was the season premiere for our friends over at Central Wisconsin Area Community
Theater. And they're Schmeckley shakes is where they Schmeckley shakes is where they kick this off
over at Schmeckley area, beautiful area over there if you get a chance. One of the spots over
there is the ample theater they have. This is where they they're performing Romeo and Juliet.
They have another show going on tonight. And it's a special one. It's this one features their
opening banquet. You can be a part of the 52nd season of Central Wisconsin Area Community Theater.
You can get your tickets and be a part of the banquet. The begins at five. Stick around. You'll
have Romeo and Juliet afterwards. And this is a very different version of Romeo and Juliet. This
is set more in the Ozarks and the Appalachian Times. And you'll be able to experience it that way.
They really we had Susan one of the actors in the show and Joel one of the the director of the
show. They were on with us and directors play us if you'd like a preview of what to expect

And they talked about this and wanted to kind of Americanize Romeo and Juliet a little bit.
And this was a really fun, cool way of doing it. I've done this play twice. I play Mercuchio twice.
It's actually the only character I've played twice. I've never wanted to really do the
character again. I feel like okay. Yeah, we're good. I did a great job. You know, I'm good. I'm
good with it. Almost I almost don't want to do it again because I don't want to mess it up or
something. I wanted to be I wanted to tell Joel like whoever you got as Mercuchio, kick him out.
They can't do what I can do. Let me do it. Let me do it. Because it just sounds like such a cool
concept, such a such a cool idea. Encourage you to get your tickets and check out this show,

job where they break these up by age. Yeah, that's great. I love that too. And they got one more going

three o'clock, two o'clock matinee on Sunday for the Brothers Grimm Spectacularathon. This is a
great way to support local theater and support these kids. There is no such thing as a bad kid show.
Every single one for history since the first one to the last are great. You are going to enjoy
yourself. It is the essence of what theater is all about when these kids get out there and they
perform, whether it is a great performance or a just fun performance, there is no bad performance.
And that's one of the things I love about theater and I love about kids theater. Support
these kids and get on over there to WRC Theater or get your tickets and support this show. It's
going to be a lot of fun. And I'm going to probably a lot of kids that you might know out there,
at least the names you might recognize of families that you might recognize. And if I can just
take a moment here, everybody to announce that WRC T is coming up with their main season.
They've got four great shows lined up for you. Their holiday show is a Christmas story,
classic. I cannot wait to see what Christine does with that one. One of my favorite directors of
all time, Linda Garski is going to be directing four-old broads, which just feels like really on
the nose, Linda. It feels really hot. I love Linda. I love her so much and she could have a lot
of fun with that one. And they're going to wrap up the season with Father of the Bride, a classic.
I'll be honest with everybody. I'm probably going to audition for that one. I want to be a part
of that. That's going to be, it looks really good. John's going to do a good job with that one.
And I am getting in the director's chair for the first time since high school to direct on
golden pond. I am excited about this. I admit, I've already admitted to the audience that I know
that they need directors. So that's part of the reason I threw my hat in the ring. They got
plenty of actors as much as I love to act. They don't really need that. We could always want more
actors, but that wasn't something they were dying for, but they could use directors. So that's why
I threw my hat in the ring for this. And they, they choose which show I was going to direct. I,
you know, I didn't have a preference or anything. I would have directed any four of these.
I think it'd be pretty funny to see me direct old four old broads, but I think lead is a better choice.
But I actually, so they felt like I was a perfect choice for this. And I didn't really see that.
And I've read the script four times now. I finished my fourth reading last night. I've been doing
the blocking yesterday. We had a meeting with our set builders and what we're building here. My vision,
they're going to be able to do it. And I'm just, I'm not cool. I got goosebumps thinking about this.
And I actually think they got this right. They knew they saw something I didn't see much like when
I've been cast many times. And I'm like, I don't know what the director's seeing. They see something
I didn't see. And I actually think I might be the perfect person to direct this. Not only as an
empath and somebody who grew up loving watching this movie with my non-emphapa many, many times.
Seeing the Broadway show with James Earl Jones and some of that. And certainly experiencing
with my family, those I love, the most important person I've ever known, my Nana going through
Alzheimer's and seeing that. All that said, I lost my grandpa last year and he was the last once.
I've lost all my grandparents. And it's a weird feeling to have them all gone.
It is. And I'm a big believer in a lot of what they taught me in celebrating life, not
mourning it. You know, we all heal how we do. And there are days of mourning certainly in moments
where you think you're doing good and then all of a sudden you're head over the head with,
you know, mourning. But overall, I try to celebrate life and I want to celebrate them. And I'm
able to do that with this show. I'm able to honor them with this show. It's so good. We forget
that it's so funny. It is hilarious. It's a very funny show with some really wonderful sarcasm
and wonderful characters. And we have auditions coming up this next week. August 4th and 5th,
Monday and Tuesday. I will be there. It's go time. I've loved it. Get you in there, though.

We got some fun stuff to get to before we wrap up the show. Talk about our schedules. Some great
local events going on in the area. Some events we're going to be at in the area as well. And on

Crew is the word you want to text to us everybody. So Terry, we are both dog lovers and have dogs and
all that. And most dogs don't have a lot of decisions to make. Dogs, and what they do, they don't
really debate a whole lot. It's not like you see a dog oftentimes sitting there contemplating,
you know, many like many of life's questions or anything like that. Dogs are pretty basic in
that regard and I kind of, I kind of envy that in some ways. They usually have the same meals
every day and they don't go to college or anything like that and make decisions or anything like
those kind of things. Well, a new report says that the average dog owner makes 27 decisions per
month based on their pet. So it's more so the other say it's side of this where, you know,
dogs aren't doing anything we are and we're often thinking for our dogs or doing things for our
dogs, whether they may want them or not in some ways or it may realize they want them or not.
I feel like altering my schedule or our schedule is, you know what I mean? Like, oh,
somebody has to make sure they're home for Rex to get the dog out. I feel like that happens
a lot. And he, I mean, we've had it, we had a little break between dogs, but not long.
And he actually, our puppy is for today. Oh, wow. Oh, happy birthday.
Anyway, I should have had him in the birthday club. But I do still find that sometimes I'm like,
oh, somebody's got to be home for the dog. Yeah. Yeah. 27 decisions per month. I feel like
that's low. I feel like that seems low. It's a lot. It's a lot more than that. I feel like
there are a lot of days and that's less than one decision a day, even in a short month.
That doesn't make sense to me. Even just with what you're saying right there, the simplest of
things or even this counts if you're like, hey, did you feed the dog, you know, or something like
that or any of those kind of things? I don't know. The average dog owner supposedly cancels
social plans four times per month because of their dog. And they typically cut plans short six
times a month because of their dog. Absolutely. Don dogs. Yeah. Well, where's the stat on how many
times our dogs save us? I mean, like, oh, I'd love to stay, but I can't. I got to go get the dog.
There is that. They are, they are one of the best excuses ever built for people that just,
I'm done. I'm done people like today. I need to be away from people. Oh, I got to take care of
Sammy. I got to get there. Dogs can also impact their owner's work routine and work location,
especially when they have flexible schedules. The report also compared home dog ownership changes
based on whether or not people have children and not surprisingly people without kids are more
likely to spoil their dogs and consider their dogs to be their children. They're also more likely
to drop money on treats, toys, and fun things, higher quality pet food, dog beds, and etc.
You know, obviously they have a more. You totally come. You totally sit up and personalize
accessories like engraving tags and monogram blankets are equal though. So even people,
dog owners without kids and dog owners with kids are equally buying those kind of things.
I find that interesting. I find that just just as interesting. But um, none of this really gets
into where I started with this, where how much of this like for everything we're doing for dogs,
I wonder how much of it they, I'm not talking about the, you know, getting their nails clipped
and getting their shots and that kind of this stuff that they literally need. Just saying the
average, the things like most of our dogs, if we gave them a cardboard box would be happy. But
we got to get that one toy. Sammy, he likes the lamb chop toy. Like there's a stuffed lamb chop
and he loves that toy. So I've been getting him that since we've had him. It just found out right
away. That was the toy he liked, but he likes the little mini ones. I got him one of the bigger ones
that's not the same size as him, but it's close. Did you get the stink eye? Yeah. Yeah, he wanted
nothing to do with that thing. Like they're the same darn thing. It's just bigger, but oh no, he
wants nothing to do with that. It was a waste of money. Just a way like nobody, no kids going to play
with that. I can't make it as a kid toy. So getting your money back on that. So yeah, you got a
fight in the right toy for it. But is that is common as we think? Is it, you know, or most dogs?
Really, are we thinking for them basically? This is something I do with people all the time. I think
I'm doing something for somebody. You know, oh, I won't ask them this. I don't want to, I don't
want to inconvenience them when they want me to ask them this. Like I do that kind of stuff all the
time. I wonder how much we do it with our dogs. I think that yeah, I do think there's a lot of
decisions around pets. Oh, yeah. Yeah. For sure. A lot more than 27. I think a lot more than 27.

which is the whole reason I'll be there is to check out the fire truck. But I, I'll probably
do some work too. I mean, sorry, but I don't think they bring the fire truck to park cars.
I, I darn it. You're probably right. The, we'll be down there broadcasting live from 105.5.

be fun. We'll have some blood. And all our whole staff's going to be down there. It's a big event.

It's celebrating the Milka's 25th anniversary. Join them in celebrating disability identity
and culture at this first ever Disability Pride Festival. They're going to have adaptive kayaking
entertainment food, disability shops and vendors, art activities and more. Love that we have these
kind of events in our area. And they were promoting this kind of stuff. A big shout out to the ODC and

Terry, we started off our show talking a little bit about the United Way and some of the things
that you have going on over there with the gang and stuff. And one of the big events, of course,
we're talking about a stuff to bus. We wanted to mention locations people can drop off items at.
Would you mind one more time reminding everybody of those key items we're really looking for?
Yeah, absolutely. So we are continuing our school supply drive through 1 p.m. on August 7th.
So the collection is at lunch by the river next week Thursday. And we are looking for school supplies
to fill backpacks. Our registration is just about at 900 kids. So that's pretty significant.
Most needed items as we know of today are backpacks, of course. And then plain colored notebooks and
folders, markers. So just don't overthink. Like a 10 pack of Crayola markers is perfect,
colored pencils, and then also pencil boxes. So the little, it's like a plastic,
usually they're colored see-through box that can be used for elementary age kids to keep all of
their stuff organized. So those are the most needed things at this time. I encourage you to get
involved by picking up supplies or we also take monetary donations for stuff to bus. You could
stop by our office at 351 Oak Street. You can make the donation online if you prefer to do that
with a credit card. If you just click on the donate button on our website, just put in the memo
that it's for stuff to bus so that we know what it's for. But we also have if you can't make it to
lunch by the river next Thursday or to our our office might not be convenient for you. We have
a whole bunch of businesses in the community who have said, you know, hey, we'll be a drop
location. People can drop off their stuff on the way by or maybe you're already visiting those.
And so James, if you're willing, I'll have you run down that list so that that people know where
they can drop off supplies. For you adult day service set on Pepper Ave right here in Rapids,

Want you to come by and drop these items off. Get them to us and we'll make sure that we get
them to the United Way and get them to these kids so we can impact the future like nobody does,
like this area. We love this. Yeah, and you know, thanks in advance for being part of this because
it makes a huge difference for, you know, getting kids a good fresh start. Yeah, yeah.
At that first step, that first impression in the new school year, they're all starting new grades.
Some are starting new schools, new students, they're seeing new teachers, giving them these
things that they don't have to worry about. It's one less thing to have to worry about and
