But first our pet of the week, Melissa. All right. So, you know, obviously it's hard to choose, but I had to focus on the cats.

I have a special special place in my heart. Shout out to Kevin.
But I had to choose Jack. Oh, and not just one Jack.
There are jacks of all kinds.
There are three jacks. There's a jack who is three months old, a domestic short hair, what a little cutie.
He's like a tiger stripe. It's a double face.
There's Jack who is a year old and he's a light like a peach colored stripe cat.
And then there's Jack stand. That's two months old.
And he is a little orange sweetheart.
She's got this little orange nose. He's just adorable.
I want to take them all home with me.
They're all awesome. And Jack stand is not only a great name, but what a face.
Yeah. What a face. Very cool coloring on his face.
It's very interesting. Yeah. That pattern, but you got all choice.
You got a three month old, a year and a two month old to choose from.
So in all of these cats, all of these cats are new dirt and ready to go.
They've got their chips. They are waiting for you.
And your new best friend is waiting for you over at the South Carolina Main Society.
Because these are all great animals. There are so many good ones that good, good pets over there.
And when it comes to the main society, this is one of the one of those jobs and one of those
businesses or nonprofits that affects everything in your community.
It would go ahead and do a deep dive into communities that don't have a
main society. And what happens to those communities, not just with the animals,
because those animals that they're going to be there one way or another,
whether somebody's there to take care of them or not. And they cost money.
And they cost your city money. And that stuff adds up.
It is also one of the things that brings people to your communities.
When you have a main society, this is something that a lot of especially younger families
are looking for in a community. Do they have a main society? Things like this.
Our main society does more than we even realize when it comes to way more than just animals in your
community. They do so much for us. Let's have their back. Reach out to the main
society and find out ways that you can be involved, that you can help.
They are taking dog walkers. You can do that kind of thing. That is a lot of a fun
volunteering thing for a lot of people. And an easy thing is you can fill out those
applications to adopt applications to volunteer right on their website,
www.sahs.com. It's easy. You go right there, fill them out, and then you'll be good to go.
There's a great point. Thank you, Melissa. It's also an opportunity to be able to drop off items.
You're picking up some cat food, maybe grab an extra can. They can always use litter,
things like that. Do you have a lot of kittens? So, kitten food also.
Certainly another way that you can help support not just the main society, but animals in our community
is they have a new link on there. I believe it's new to report animal cruelty,
which is vital in our community. Animals can't speak for themselves.
Now, I watched Dr. Ludd do a little too. And I was just dumbfounded after seeing that,
and all the Disney movies I did growing up, animals can't talk. It turns out. I was a city boy,
man. I didn't know. You had to see the pigeons. They didn't say anything.
I know they did. But we need to speak for them. This is the thing, this is what you...
Haven't you seen that bird on social media?
Yeah. This is what you get for being on top of the food chain. There's a responsibility
to come with that. And it is looking out for those that can't look out for themselves,
and that is one of the things we do for animals. Animals bring so much to our lives,
honestly. I mean, how many times do you need to pick me up? So, you go to social media,
or you go to YouTube, and you find cute animal movies. They make you smile, they make you laugh.
We don't deserve dogs, because dogs are amazing.
Agreed. And every day, pretty much, I do that. I look up an animal video, or find an animal video,
or something like that. And certainly, I'm fortunate because my parents have one of the coolest
dogs of all time, and save me the Muppet Dog. Save me's awesome. And they wouldn't have him

and get you to our news break. A little bit later, we're going to be getting into some fun stuff.
10 reasons why AI is overrated. Just getting to this now? Can AI do bumpers like that?
I don't think so. We got a good one here for you. Nobody could do bumpers like Seth.
The 2024 Nobel Prizes have been being awarded in the last couple of mornings. This morning in
literature, it was awarded to Han Kang, a South Korean author for the intense poetic prose that
confronts historic traumas and exposes the frailty of human life. Her book, she began her career
writing magazines and everything, but this book has been a game changer. That's cool. Just an
incredible work. It's really cool to see her being noted for this. I love that we're still doing
this and we're still bringing so much attention to the Nobel Prize. I think it still matters. I
think it still means something. It's pretty cool to see. Part of the reason I say that is because
so many times so often, there are certain people that win Nobel Prizes that are known names.
But more than often, not only are you first hearing about a person, but hearing about the work
that they are doing, whether it's in science, words, and another field that we have more
news outlets than we have ever had. We have a 24-hour news cycle that shifts over every 20 seconds,
man. It doesn't even wait for the 24 hours to wrap up. Yet, we don't cover some of the most
important stories out there. We're too busy, given whether it's a politician more time than they
deserve, or a celebrity more time than they deserve, or any of these kind of low-hanging fruits
than the quote-unquote journalism just hatches on to. Look, demand more. You can do that with
real easy. It's where you put your time. It's where you put your, whether if you're watching TV or
you're streaming something or you're listening to the radio, those things add up as far as ratings
in that. People see, oh, I see that you're listening to a lot of civic media. You apparently
respect journalism. You apparently still want journalism. These kind of things. I don't care
if that sounds biased. I believe in what we do. It ain't bragging if you can back it up. We do. We
bring you real journalism. We're not the only ones. I'm not saying that. There's a lot of great
journalism out there, but they're not being noted. They're not being seen. These stories are not
being heard and talked about. This is interesting stuff. It's not like these are boring stories. These
are really interesting stories. It's just trying to get them out there to a wider audience.
The vegetarian, one of her first books translated into English, won the Man Booker International
Prize back in 2016. She's prestigious. She just won a handful of awards in her career.
Cool. Really, really good writer. That book in particular is a, I don't even know how to put it
in the words. That's one of the less books that I've read. Oh wow. It's incredible. It's incredible.
She's a great author and I could not be happier for her. And it's great to see South Korea get some
notice. Yeah. That doesn't have to involve North Korea in anything like that. Green day is
celebrating their 30th anniversary of their 1994 album, Duky. 30 years ago, they're wishing
they didn't call it Duky. Yeah, right. And they're doing the coolest re-release ever. They are
re-releasing demastered versions of each song individually. Demastered? Yes. Each loaded into an
outdated and extremely inconvenient piece of tech. That's great. This is so green day.
This is so green day. Yes, I love it. You're right on the point there, Melissa. So usually for those,
you know, don't know or don't pay attention to this stuff, if the Eagles are re-releasing hotel
California, they're not doing anything different. They just remaster it. Yeah. And clean up the sound,
make it sound better for digital. I mean, because when they recorded it, it was all analog stuff. So
they may clean it up, make it sound better. A lot of groups now for like iconic albums and stuff,
they're doing like a whole bunch of like extra tracks and you get to hear demos and the, you know,
how they created the songs and that kind of stuff. So, Tuma, thank you Seth for clearing it up.
So burnout is on a piano, a player piano role. Nice. I love it. Having a blast is on a floppy disc.
That's pretty good. That's, that's pretty good. My part is going to be finding things to play those on.
Yes. That part. There's got a floppy disc drive anymore.
Chump is on a Teddy Ruck spin. I don't even know what that is.
You don't? Oh, it was an old toy. It was an old talking toy. One of the first ones, if I remember
correctly, that would have had a preset number of responses, you know, not AI. But just would,
would talk to you kind of thing as a thing. It was a novelty at the time back in the 80s. So, yeah.
And let's see. Longview is on a doorbell. Okay. Okay. Welcome to Paradise is on a Game Boy cartridge.
Nice. Pulling teeth is on a toothbrush. I'm not sure they did that. I get the, I get the brush.
Yeah. Pulling teeth. Basket case is on a big mouth, Billy Bass. I have to hear that. I have to
hear that. I've been trying to find it. All the rage for a while. I have on your wall in your
garage. I had to go up in somebody box here. I had this. Oh, no. I'd be able to find the sound.
I can't find the sound. Oh, that's all right. She is on a hit clip. I don't remember what those were.
Sassafras roots on an eight track tape. Nice. There you go. There you go. Coming clean is on an
X-ray recorder. They've got one on an answering machine, one on a Fisher Fisher price record.
Oh gosh. That's cool. All by myself is on a music box. And when I come around is on a super
old school wax cylinder. Oh, the, oh, go as far as recorded sound goes back. It's wax. Yeah.
That's, I don't know if you can get much older than that. You cannot. Nope. Just a bit clear. You
can't stream these songs. You have to buy the actual physical media. The songs are recorded on.
Like if you want to hear chump, you have to literally buy a Teddy Rosspin. Yeah. Yeah.
Each song is only available in limited quantities. Yeah. And you have to enter a drawing for the
opportunity to purchase them. The most expensive one is a $99 because of the Teddy Rosspin part.
Yeah. Right. Right. But summer is low is 19 bucks like the floppy disk in the eight track.

digital audio player created by Tiger electronics that plays low fidelity mono one minute clips of
usually teen pop hits from interchangeable cartridges. I am nice. 60 seconds. I seem to remember,
you know, vaguely commercials for that vaguely look like little mini MP3 players. Right. Yeah. Okay.
Now I remember. Now I remember. Thank you for looking at that. The little cartridges that you can
slide in and out that never really caught on. This is I think part of this that is so cool to me is
I remember when Green Day first got really big. So much of the punk community turned their back on
them because that's what you do if a punk artist gets a record. It's popular, right? Which makes no
sense to me. But but I will say like this is the most punk way you could ever do something like this.
100% good luck ever trying to top it to any other punk artist out there. That is fantastic.
That's hilarious. I think hit clips should come back because now I mean so look little cartridges are
the size of a penny. And with the storage capacity that we have now you could store thousands of
songs on those. You could. It's just like a like a and it comes like a little little boom box player.
Yes. That's right. I imagine that the company might be for sale. I mean maybe we should look
to pick it up on the cheap. Yeah. Let's scoop it up. Yeah. I know after this they might have a
renaissance because of Green Day. Let's keep it hushed. Okay. Don't tell anybody.
Marshfield Community Theatre has a wonderful production coming up leaving Iowa. They're going
to be performing October 24th through the 26th and the October 27th. This is a wonderful group of
people that get together and do these things very similar to our Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre
and C-Wack and that. We don't get to talk about Marshfield nearly enough but we do want to send a

it was an exhausting character to play. Oh bad. Yeah. Yeah. Melissa plays nothing but exhausting
characters. It seemed to be the case. Yeah it's all she does. You know take easy roles. That's

it has really become that much much more in the years with Martha and Tim and what Gretchen has
been doing lately recently and everything. It's really cool to see the what they've been
doing over there. WRCT has always been run by great people. Period. Period. It's just what people
have been doing in recent years. It's just really cool evolution of what's going on over there.
Amazing. And I do want to send a special shout out to the recent cast of White Christmas.
I'm not seeing it or heard who's cast yet. I do want to send it here. I imagine they're getting
close to getting done with casting. Yes. Yes. They haven't released anything yet but that will

not. We appreciate them stepping down there and being brave and getting out there and we're
looking forward to White Christmas coming up December 5th. Yes. More on that when we get closer.

don't want to change. Do something about climate change. People that are trying to use it to their
benefit. That's wrong. It's wrong and the people that are lying about what's going on down there
is wrong. How do we feel about scammers gang? We hate them. We can't stand scammers. This is
no just because they're running for office doesn't make them any different than a normal scammer.
Like that that hustles a hustle man and if there's one thing I know it's a hustle. That is a hustle.
That when you see a natural disaster in your first thought is how I can make my political gains
out of there how I can make money off it. That's a hustle. That's a hustle. Yeah. Yeah. Keep an eye
on that. Go to reputable sources. One of those is a location drop off. We have where there's a
semi-trailer at pick and save here at A Street South and Wisconsin Rapids. They're looking for all kinds
of basic need items. Things look around the house. You think of things that you need like baby formula
water. Generators are certainly appreciated things like that. Cleaning up supplies. Rubber glows,

speak talk about AI? Yes, it is. How perfect. How perfect is this?
Things that AI cannot do. Like actually have a real conversation on the phone, right?
Or bake cookies or things like this. NPR has an article called 10 Reasons AI
may be overrated. And it might be, you know, I think there's a lot of interesting points in it.
I'm going to go over some of the highlights for it. Of course, you can see the complete article
at npr.org. Go ahead and check that out. We support our friends in the journalistic game.
Yep. Here's the list. The artificial intelligence we have now isn't actually that intelligent.
Nope. It can copycat humans, but it's not capable of generating great new ideas.
Nope. And to one thing that I find interesting about this part of it,
this is probably the most difficult thing when it comes to AI that we are literally
generations away from it doing. Yeah. Generally. Yeah. There's the self-thinking AI is something
that they tease at us from time to time in real life, but it's really only a thing for sci-fi
movies. It's not really something we're that close to or anything. Because AI isn't very intelligent
and hallucinations make it unreliable, it's proving incapable of doing most if not all
human jobs. Yep. Remember there, like what was it six months ago, maybe even a year they're
talking about that. It's like it can do anything that humans can take all the jobs and we can
dobs and no. It's okay. We're locking the bogeyman back in the basement.
Yeah. It's it's not. It can't. It just can't do it. AI's capabilities have been exaggerated.
It's that's point. Several promising stories about AI's quote triumphs over proven bogus.
I've been proven bogus. Yeah. And researchers looked under the hood and found, oh, there's,
you know, the emperor has no clothes. Exactly. Despite all the media and quote investor
mania about AI over the last few years, AI use remains surprisingly very limited. Yep.
For example, in a recent study, only around 5% of businesses had used AI in the previous couple
of weeks. Mm-hmm. And that's noteworthy for a number of reasons. Certainly when it comes to
business, they will do whatever they can to save money. If AI was saving them money and making it
easier, they would be doing it. The fact that they're not using it, not doing it tells you
quite a bit right there. It did. It's not used. Regularly. Yeah. Yeah. It's very limited. Yeah.
It had a task that had helped them with two months ago. Mm-hmm. But now they haven't used it
again for a while. Yep. Yep. Yep. We have yet to find AI's killer app. Most applications for now
are in personalized marketing and automated customer service. Not really stuff that everyday people
use. Mm-hmm. Certainly people in those fields maybe, but not so much around that. AI may not be
improving as fast as many people claim it. In fact, AI may be running out of juice. AI models have
already consumed the entire internet so they don't have much left to grow on. Ah. But you know what
they do? They can still what's called scraping the internet. That's what they do to get that
information. Now they're taking the AI generated stuff and now they're scraping that. Wow.
Where does that lead us to? That's an interesting question. It's called slop, by the way. That's
called AI slop. Yeah. Because when you pull up a search for an image and most of them look really
really weird or strange or obviously fake, that's all AI. Yeah. Yeah. AI could be really bad for
the environment. The data centers that powered AI require an ungodly amount of electricity. Sure
do. They already consume enough energy to power a small country. Somebody brought this up some point.
I don't know when. No, you were just touching on this set. Yeah. Yeah. Not only, I mean, we heard
about this with crypto, not mining and how much energy that used. This is like heads above that
in terms of electricity usage. It's insane. Thanks. I never I not even a half a second that I
ever believe in crypto. No. But the biggest thing that like even if I was ever going to look at it,
I stopped immediately when I started reading about that. And these these farms that they have of
generators that are just it's just a building filled with generators that just sucking you know,
we see what's happening in Florida and everything. Oh, you wonder, could these two things have
anything to do with each other? It's possible. It will only if they're under the same sky.
Then maybe, well, wait a minute. Yeah. And finally, someone did an experiment to see if two
different AI programs, chat GPT and dish gin could make a tastier batch of chocolate chip cookies
than a human and they failed horribly. They didn't do anything crazy like adding aparagus or
motor oil or anything or glue to a pizza. Yeah. But according to the judges, they were just fine
and a little boring. And AI is overrated because humans are underrated. Oh, one expert says a lot of
people in the industry don't recognize how versatile, talented, multifaceted human skills are
capable and capabilities are telling you this segment started unintentionally, but perfectly
with a computer, a mobile call. Yeah. Now, if it was a human being, they could have maybe
played with us with it or they did. Or at the very least, apologized and hung up or something
like that. Yeah. Instead, that company just looks foolish and kind of dumb. I'm sorry, but kind of
I mean, you know, that doesn't help your business model. It brings you down. I can tie this into
and it's not a reach into attack ads because a lot of attack ads are AI generated. They don't
put it easier to do it. You don't got this isn't wag the dog, everybody. This isn't where you've
got a team of people sitting there working and trying to figure out the best way to come up with
these attack ads or anything. They're lazy. They're not trying here. They're just grabbing a
little, little talking points and snippets of articles and it's both sides. I'm not picking on
one side here. It's both sides doing it. They're just doing that, putting it into an algorithm and
just shoot it out there and let's see if we can go ahead and just enchant some voters and confuse
some people and everything. Let's make him people angry today. All right, let's make an ad about it.
Exactly. These attack ads are not done to get you out there to vote for this person. They're going
out there to confuse you. They're doing the opposite of democracy.
And muddying the waters. Yes. And making somebody a lot of money, I'll say that much.
And they're uncreative. At the very least, can we all agree on that? That they're a waste of time,
that they are who in like, please call up 715-424-2600. Have you been, have you changed,
you're deciding to go a different direction because of an attack ad? Please for the love of God
because I have been doing this for years and I've been asking this question for years and not
once, not one person, nobody. Nobody, man. Like we need more and more because we can't count on,
there's too much gray area with freedom of speech and this subject to be able to say, well,
we're going to have a law for this. And every time we come up with a law, there is somebody that
looks for a way to get around it. So we need to demand from our politicians, hey, how do you feel
about attack ads? I've got a couple of interviews coming up with some of our representatives,
with some of the people running for a Senate. And guess what? I'm going to be asking.
Ooh, interesting. That's a good question. Because this is not asked enough. People are not,
we need to confront these people about this. These are human beings. I've talked, listen to our
last interview with Scott Krueck. And Scott and I don't see eye to eye on everything. But this
one we sure do. And we need more and more people to get behind this one. That's not me backing Scott,
that's me backing human beings. That's me backing us society into democracy. Yes, yes.
Well, the other thing too is that these ads are put together by people like Scott Krueck.
They're put together by giant pack corporations that have not your best interests in mind. I'll tell you
that much. Yeah, it's a college industry, actually, of people who put these together. Yeah.
One of the dangerous things is, if you do see an attack ad and there is something about it that
you want to research, you want to look into more, the first thing you need to do is see where
that ad came from. Yep. And that can be difficult. Trust me. Yeah, it can be very hard to find out.
I actually reached out to some old friends, we'll say, to find out some information about some
of this stuff that's going on overseas with these things. And one of the most dangerous things
that this is the first election I've noticed this in. I did not notice this in the previous
election. This is the first one where some of these ads are usually you can tell, okay,
I don't see the politician at the end of it. I'm so and so and I endorse this ad. Right.
Now we're seeing that. We're seeing that in some of these ads and some of these ads that are
coming from overseas. And I you can go ahead and call me biased or whatever you want and ignore
it and call it fake news. But you go ahead and look at the data yourself and it is one party
overwhelmingly that is doing this and that is okay with this. The idea of disenchanting voters,
the idea of confusing voters does not benefit anybody to the people out there that want to do this,
the people out there doing this. Nobody benefits from this. You don't have to look very hard to see
how attack ads don't help us. They certainly didn't help Coke and Pepsi. They didn't help Raghu and
Presto. They originated this. This isn't original. Politicians didn't come up with this. You
know, think groups didn't come up with this. Advertisers did. Advertisers did. When we were kids,
they did this and it didn't work. Soda sales went down by 30 to 40 percent.
Saw sales down 25 to 30 percent. Wow. It just brings the whole industry down and that's what
attack ads have done to politics. They have dumbed it down. There are people out there that think
you are not smart enough to see around this stuff. Prove them wrong. Prove them wrong and look
into this stuff. Think with your vote. Think with it. I'm not telling you who to vote for. I'm telling
you to think and vote and know that we can make change. We can make this better.
And let's get all the money out of politics. Can we just, we need to get rid of citizens united.
It has not done anything good for any of this. Hey, that's a popular position, Melissa.
Yeah. That's like one of the few things that most people agree on is get money out of politics.
Wasting money on things that we don't want or need. And I'm sorry, I'm not going to call it
misinformation or disinformation. It's lies. They are straight up lies. And that is what's happening.
And we deserve better. Yeah. We can do better than AI. We are better than AI.
Well, go back that real quick. There's a couple of things there I did want to mention that they
didn't say in that article. Good. That's very good article because all that stuff is absolutely true.
But we also, some of the other issues that we're having with AI about how AI learns the large
language models that they're using. There's a huge gray area with copyright there and copyright
infringement about how they're collecting the data and what they're, what's coming out of it
with the copyright. So that's a big issue that also needs to be addressed. I just read an article
this morning from 404 Media that now there's a job application bot that you can use that will
automatically fill in all the information at, you know, like indeed and all those job websites
for you. And can like all just constantly apply for just certain jobs. You set the parameters,
what you want to do. You know what the funny thing about that is? All that's being collected by
another bot. It's another AI program. So it's two AI programs talking to each other. There's no
human interaction in this at all. That's crazy. Oh, man. It's got ridiculous. They're going to
be people that are hired for jobs because with that process that are like, what am I doing here?
Yeah, boss is like, what are you doing? What are you doing here? I don't remember hiring you.

Canada broke a world record by eating almost two and a half pounds of sriracha in three minutes.
Two and a half pounds. Two and a half pounds. He said he wasn't too worried about it destroying his
digestive track. He loves hot stuff and he has been able to handle this before. It's a bit
draining, I guess. Yeah, this wasn't his first time with this. Oh, man. Yeah. That does seem
like you would do some damage. You know, I'm just saying. I don't know. A lot of liquid hot
stuff. Oh, my gosh. I'm not sure that like this feels like one of those things that even days later,
I wouldn't be I wouldn't trust my stomach. I wouldn't, you know, I don't even know of crackers.
I would be touching. What is prep is, you know, does it swallow wax? It lines a stomach. I don't
know. And I don't mean I don't mean this in a mean way. But I guarantee you this man lives alone.
But I guarantee. I guarantee. You know, I think I think you're right on that one, man.
It's got to work. I think we got to see the inside of his bathroom. Yeah. Yeah.
Oh, you'd have to go there. I'm sorry. I'm telling you, he lives alone for a reason. I'm telling
we get to a question is why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Yeah. Because it was there. You know, you know,
I, I, I, I, I, this is a rule of a record I must break. Yeah. I mean, I, I think that there's
certainly, you know, if you put aside the whole 15 seconds of fame thing, um, outside of that,
I, that's a fantastic question. I, I'm sure that there's a percentage of people to do these
things for that. But I'm, I'm more curious about what I, I think you're hitting on their
Melissa. And what it is in a person that makes it see something like this, you know what?
I want to be the guy. I want that's what I want people to know about me. And why the two pounds?
You know, was there a record out there to break so many, so many follow up questions.
So many follow up questions. See now, that's, that's what I was trying to find out. I don't think
anybody had this record before. Well, he was going to set it for nobody to break it. Yeah,
apparently. And it should tell you something too, where everybody in the, in the record
breaking community is kind of like, no, you can have that one. No, we don't want that one.
That's, that's all you, man. That's all you, you go ahead. You're going to take that one.
We got some local good things going on in our community. I want to put some focus on those.

coming up Seth and it's going on today. It's going on right now. As we speak, head on over there
everybody. Lots of great deals. Lots of books to check out. Some goodies to while you produce,
some coffee, maybe some bars and punch. No. I'm not sure if it's today or tomorrow, but my mom
might be over there say hi to her. Yeah. Help her and the great people involved in this support
our community because all the funds for this go right back into the community. That's right.
