every show with our good friend, Brittany Merlot, talking a little mother nature and

Brittany. Got an interesting weekend, Labor Day weekend ahead of us. Yes, we do. I'm starting

off a little dark and a little dreary here this morning. We have plenty of sunshine that

will make its way through by this afternoon, and especially into this evening. And once

it gets here, it is holding here for, honestly, a good week. Wow, cool. Which is so crazy

to say. I am just so excited for it. It's perfect timing. I mean, high temperatures today,

still climbing warm and tomorrow as well. So we're still feeling those summery highs.

Today will reach 79 degrees tomorrow. We'll be bright, beautiful, and sunny with a high

of 83 degrees. So you can do all the summer activities that you want to do before the

unofficial end of this weekend, right? But if you want a taste of fall, Sunday and Monday

will be here. We'll be feeling a little crisp dry out there, temperatures in the low 70s

on Sunday, and potentially trying to make it to the mid 70s on Monday. But a gorgeous

weekend. I don't have any rain in the forecast anymore after this morning. All right.

Sounds about perfect. Yep. Oh, jeez. Sorry, guys. I was taking notes. I'm so glad you said

that, Brittany, about getting everything in you can in summer. I wanted to learn archery

and pickleball. I wanted to go skiing for weekend. I don't know how I'm going to get this.

looking forward to diving into that one. That's going to be fun. We've also got some other

interesting stuff in the nine o'clock hour. If you if we change to a four day work week,

which extra day would you want off? This is one of our favorite topics. The three of us,

the four day work week. Yeah. We're going to get into that one a little bit later.

entertainment and a good positive start to your day. And speaking of a positive start to your day,

it's international bacon day people. Oh, we made it again. Rejoice bacon. Rejoice my fellow human

beings. Enjoy bacon. Where's the bacon? I can't open the package. I don't have any thumbs.

I got no thumbs. I love that commercial. It's one of the greatest ads of all time. Top five ads

of all time. I'm so great reference. And sad day for pigs. But you know, we have a solo moment

for the pigs. Tomorrow is actually national. That was in solemn. That was laughing. Yeah. Yeah.

It was a very solemn. We're sorry. Thanks. We're sorry, babe. Um, you're the one that brought it up.

That fail. Here's some interesting. Right on the gate. Here's some interesting.

Interesting. I like we're going to stop eating bacon. I mean, that's a very good point.

Interesting stats. A pig could be in front of me, looking me dead in the eyes. And I don't know if

I would stop eating bacon. Sorry, man. You were born delicious. And I love animals. I love animals.

I love it. I like pigs. I got about to get pigs. Just damn taste. So tasty. Yeah.

Here are some interesting stats about bacon, according to a recent poll of restaurant diners,

which I find that part interesting. Okay. 71% say everything tastes better with bacon.

Yeah. Yeah. Everything. Although I often pick bacon off stuff. The flavor is still there.

That's true. It's a lot of grease. Yeah. Yeah. I will say that I don't know if any of our

political nominees come November have a 71% that's that's pretty good. That's pretty good.

Somebody needs to get that on a ticket. Let's select bacon. I'm running with bacon. Here's my

running mate bacon. It's just a big slab of bacon. 57% said that they'd eat bacon every day

if they could. Wow. I don't think there's a food I would just because I would be worried about

like not, you know, not having the same impact. Right. Exactly. If you did every day,

then you probably don't like it as much. Yeah. Exactly. 69% say that they consider bacon a side dish

that could pair with anything. I mean, they do have bacon covered chocolate or chocolate covered

bacon. They do. Yeah. They do. I never way you do it. It's probably still good. And 43% of male

diners say the quickest way to their heart is with bacon. Seriously. I'm a little harder to

win over. But you know, it's a good start. Bacon isn't a bad way to show up on a first date.

Here's your bacon bouquet. Yeah. It's just raw bacon. It's just you got to cook it.

You got to cook it. Oh, no. That's not good. That was not how I pictured it. No, okay.

I like the idea of when it bit like crispy bacon, like just a bouquet of crispy bacon. That's

exact tied in a ribbon. That's exactly how I pictured it. I'm actually thinking that might

not be a bad. I mean, don't show up with wilted flowers. Yeah. No, that's true. And have wilted bacon.

I thought they could prepare it the way they want. Yeah. But 95% of people say that they do have

a preference when it comes to bacon preparation. 52% want to crispy, 40% want to medium,

10% charred, 8% lightly cooked, 5% say deep fried, and 1% say raw because they are

no, they're wrong. That's is not only brainworms exactly. Yeah. I mean, oh, well,

maybe they asked RFK. Maybe that's maybe that's a brainworm. It was his answer. Was that too low?

Was it too low? No, I don't think it was at all. So deep fried. I want a little grease with my

bacon, you know, a little extra grease on the side, please. I'd like to order some bacon with

a side order of grease. Yes. Can I get that? Can I have it on the side? That's how good the

breading is, you know? Millennials are the most adventurous with bacon with about two in three

saying that they try a quote unique bacon-infused menu item. Bacon ice cream. Yeah, bacon yogurt.

Well, actually, those would probably work. I'm thinking about it. It's hard to come up with one

that isn't a big combination. This candy bacon, which is good, yeah. What would not be good with

bacon? Coffee. No, I don't even know if that's... Oh, bacon flavored coffee. Oh, yeah, yeah,

okay. Can I say because you know, if you're having breakfast, you have coffee and bacon together,

but yeah. Oh my god. Coffee and bacon together is such a good combo. But just flavored,

yeah, I don't think I do. I got it. Grenola. Oh, actually, those textures don't work for me.

I'm with you. I'm with you on that. Yeah. I think I can still make it work. I can make it work.

So, are you like a lot of people this weekend are going to maybe be knocking back a couple,

maybe having a beer or two, maybe some wine or something like that? Well, if you really want to

up your chances of maybe not enjoying your weekend, Gator wine is here for you. What? Gator wine

is trending on social media. Yes, that is wine plus Gatorade. There's a specific recipe. So,

don't just go tossing them into a shardinay glass or something like that. The recipe is equal parts

light blue glacier freeze Gatorade and any cheap red wine that's less than $12 a bottle. Any

cheaper. It's cheap. That's my, that's my go-to. That's my, it blew up after a popular YouTube

series called Blinging with Babash. Did it taste test? Binging with Babash. Oh, binging. I'm sorry,

binging. Binging with Babash. Just let's see if you're getting me again. The guy who didn't,

the guy who did love, didn't love it, but said it was better than cheap wine on its own.

They used Gator, or sorry, glacier freeze Gatorade like the recipe said plus a cheap bottle of

barefoot, Pinot, Pinot, Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir. Yeah. So, if you

want to try this, let us know how it went. I think you're, you're hydrating. I like that.

Hydrating. Well dehydrating. Yes. Yes. It depends on the, you know, the wine you pick. Pinot Noir is a,

it's a heavy wine. Yeah. And it's, it's, so if you want to try it with some other ones, it might

pair better with some other, I don't think that's a great one to start with. Choice. Yeah. But

maybe maybe a, maybe a Merlot. Yeah.

Want to go red. Or if you want to go red, actually, probably would be the way to go.

I feel like a red. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. When you said glacier or Gator Gator, I was thinking like

alligator. Yeah. Yeah. So what you do, alligator wide, cool. What you do, you get yourself down to

the Everglades. You get yourself a nice bottle of Chardonnay and you sit back and drink with the

Gator. Yeah. That's what you're doing. Literally drinking beer feet out of the water. Yeah.

Gator, you ain't even done my wine. But you can have a little of this. You pour a little

wide into the water because it's, it's the Everglades. And that might actually be the clearest part of

it. That might be, that I don't know about that. No, no, no, no, no, about that one. But still,

still. I like the idea of trying to figure out though. Like, like, you're, you're just, you're

going to get blasted trying to like, you're just got like 20 different gatorates in front of you

that you tried to find the perfect one to go with this wide. Oh, someone's doing it.

So I swear to God, someone's doing it right now. Yep. Somebody 21.

Well, you can make a nice sangria with the orange gatorade.

Oh, yeah. In all honesty, I, one thing I really do like about this is the price. And I'm not

trying to say that like for cheap, but people, look, so many of us spend our early days with alcohol

looking for the cheapest of alcohol. Yes. We show you good, mad dog.

Boone, mad dog. Boone, say nice. There's a couple of about there. And, and, you know,

if you're going to find like a, a fun way of doing this, you know, I mean, it's, it's an

affordable way of doing it. You know, it doesn't work big deal. You know, you've got an extra bottle

of gatorade center. Yeah, there you go. Yeah. You use that later. Just stay hydrated.

Yeah. And then maybe, maybe take a break and have some water thrown in there here.

Many people remember him as a detective, Vick, on the shield.

The thing in the fantastic four movies.

Adele, the strong man on American Horror Story,

he was fantastic on there.

But he was also the chemist.

He was the chemist.

He was the chemist.

Yep.

He was so good as that, man.

And he was, I mean, he was, the shield it was going to go down

as one of the greatest TV shows of all time.

He was amazing on that.

It was groundbreaking.

Nobody was doing TV cop shows like that.

But his role is the commission, man.

I love that role.

And that's, it was kind of a, like a warm up for the shield.

It was very similar in a lot of ways.

But yeah, I remember that, yes.

One of the funniest people on the planet,

Lewis Black is 76 right now.

Horosious, furious comic.

Very popular on the daily show as a contributor over there.

Got to see Lewis Black live.

He is actually even wilder while live.

I've heard some of this stuff.

At 76 that he is still doing this with this energy.

I hope on his birthday, he's just calm.

I hope he's just relaxed.

I just hope he's...

I did think, I do think he's going to stop touring

because he has, because he's getting up there.

So semi-retired, but yes.

I love one of my favorite things about Lewis Black

is he takes a lot of from Don Rickles.

My go-to when it comes to economics.

It's not to say that he is,

he'd be the first to tell you,

he is not the expert on this.

He is not the go-to on this.

But he is for many of us.

And I think that's part of the reason he is.

It's because he admits that he doesn't know everything.

You know, and just on this topic,

I don't know if you guys got to hear Maggie Dunn's guest earlier this week.

Scott Ellis,

talking about excessive wealth disorder.

I thought that was a fascinating conversation.

Maybe not for that.

Theorize is that you don't need more than $30 million.

And because at that point,

you have so much wealth,

you could do whatever you want and never have to work again.

Right.

So at that point,

he thinks that you should be taxed 50%

of whatever you earn after that.

Oh, wow.

Interesting concept.

And it changes the way we should talk about wealth.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

They have proven since the early 80s

that there is no such thing as trickle-down economics.

That's right.

It only trickles down to the rich to the rich.

It only trickles down to their family

and those that they know.

I do like the idea of somebody with like $29 million.

And they're like,

I gotta make more money.

I gotta make that one more minute.

Just that $1 million off.

And her voice is so unique and so beautiful.

It's not so much a marvel that she made it,

and she was the first woman to country music.

It's what took so long.

Because she was good and had a great voice.

And you talk about trailblazers

in the music industry,

especially in country music,

there is no woman who trailblazed more than Kitty Wells.

You have no, you have no patsy-cline,

you have no shaniah,

no carry, none of these people without Kitty Wells.

That's right.

You got my guy, Larry Fitzgerald is 41 today.

One of my top three favorite football players of all time.

He could still play.

The Dune movies are some of the biggest

like star-studded movies

you'll ever see in your life.

You don't go one scene without an A-list star in it.

And she steals almost every scene she's in.

but I've watched both the Dune movies twice.

And her performance is in it.

Her facial expressions in it are so good.

I could see her being in the alien movie

or something like that.

The new Terminator.

Well, about two weeks or three weeks ago, my father had this horrible moment

where I hear him on the deck.

So we've been actually looking at new grills.

And you know, all weather grills.

Grills can stay outside through the winter.

So we can grill in January like he likes to these things.

So he's yelling at me from the deck.

So I go out there to see.

He's taken a couple of my mother's oven pans.

Set them up perfectly right under the grill so that he can still grill.

Oh, my gosh.

He's like, what's going on there?

And it worked.

Oh, wow.

And they were great.

His Cal Ripkin streak of making good burgers continues.

They were amazing.

Even in adverse conditions.

I mean, I'm down there looking at it, Seth.

And it is awesome what he did.
