Good things coming up for you in this hour.
We're going to go ahead and get into our schedule a little bit.
We're going to talk about the most American foods.
What are they?
The top word each state has trouble spelling, and of course we'll get into some other
fun stuff.
We got a good stories of the day to wrap up on and everything.
But I did want to touch on a bit of entertainment news and to kick things off, Ellen DeGeneres
in the middle of her Ellen's last stand up comedy tour.
And she has a message for their audience.
And for all of us, really, she is not mean she's trying to get across, she is not mean.
During a gig Tuesday night in Santa Rosa, California, she said, quote, let me catch you
up on what's been going on with me since you last saw me.
I got chickens.
And oh, yeah, I got kicked out of show business for being mean.
I used to say, I don't care what people say about me.
Now I realize I said that during the height of my popularity.
She had a quote, I am many things, but I am not mean on a related note.
Ellen has canceled shows in Dallas, Seattle, and Chicago, but there's no word on why.
This is something actually kind of similar to what Jennifer Lopez has been going through,
she had to cancel her tour because of bad ticket sales.
Yeah.
And it's just.
Yeah, I wanted it.
That's what it was.
Well, there's a couple things here going on.
I mean, there's one, we've talked about ticket prices a lot for sure.
And I think that has to be brought up in the conversation that that has certainly got
to be playing at least somewhat of a factor into some of this.
But there's also the fact of, well, I only have so much time, I only have so much money.
I'm going to probably spend it or use it on things that I, an artist that I truly love
and artist that I really want to see or something along those lines.
You don't tend to see this for outside of like top, top names, like AA plus names.
So I'm not surprised by this.
Stand-up comedians are not getting a whole lot of this ticket sales either.
She, not just her, but other even Kevin Hart and some others have seen their ticket sales
going down the headlines.
And man, I admire her doing this and her going forward with it and everything.
But I don't, I'm more surprised that she's surprised because I don't think a lot of
time has passed.
And I don't think that this is that shocking by any means.
No.
I don't like anybody not having a career.
I was telling this to somebody the other day, I don't hate on Kevin Costner because it
does me any good or because I want there to be bad actors out there.
I'm not, to me, every movie, every TV show, every single thing I see, I want to see AA plus
talent.
Right.
And I want, I think that a rising tide races all boats.
I believe in that, especially in the creative world.
I see it all the time.
Go ahead and watch an A plus actor work with a bunch of C actors, all those C actors playing
at an A level, that's what a good athlete does, that's what a good entertainer does.
You bring up your fellow cast members around you.
When I bring up a guy like Kevin Costner, it's because he's the opposite of that.
And he pulls back on the industry and the, and the work that so many of us are trying
so hard to get respect for.
It's not that different with standard comedy.
And when I talk to friends of mine like Will or people out there that have been in this
industry for 20 years, grinding at it, traveling all over the country, just trying to make
people laugh, artists like this hurt the industry.
They bring it down a notch, I'm not surprised by this.
I think that oftentimes the, the audience speaks for you and lets you know, Ellen, you're,
she is funny.
She's a, one of the funniest people around.
She certainly is.
No taking that away from her.
That line was funny.
Yes.
That line was great.
That's a great line.
But you don't get to be a jerk.
You don't get to be, and there is enough evidence.
There is enough stories out there.
There, I mean, there is enough actual evidence, not just stories of her really changing
or maybe this was who she was or whatever, but this is where we're at and there's accountability
again.
Yeah.
There's that word again, accountability, hubris.
That's the word that popped into my head, hubris.
You know what would be better for her?
Just like own it.
Yeah.
Make a whole set.
Make a whole, whole stand up set about how awful she was and make it into, she could.
She could do it.
Yeah.
And it would go over very well.
It would.
It's like her, her apology.
She could call it her apology to her, you know, or something like that.
I'm not a jerk.
Despite what all these people say.
Despite what everybody is saying about me, I'm not that.
The greatest thing you can do in life when it comes to whether it's your career or life
or anything like that is owning your mistakes.
It's one of the greatest things you can do in life.
It's, guess what?
Mom and dad were right, everybody.
If you tell me about it, you won't get in this much trouble.
You won't, you know what I mean?
If you own it.
Like they won't, if you're honest about it, right?
Yeah.
And when's the last time we saw that from anybody, from a politician, from a celebrity,
but yet we expect it out of children.
Yeah.
And who do they learn from?
Eight-olds.
I mean, come on.
It did just hear it from Joe Biden.
True.
That's true.
That's right.
Yeah, very true.
Very true.
Look at my record.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The Earl Ingram show on Civic Media.
Yep.
And then yesterday.
Big shout out to Earl.
What a great interview.
What a great interview.
I was trying to promote the heck out of that because that was pretty cool to hear.
That's pretty cool.
Yeah.
And shout out to Earl and great work that he did there.
Guy, his greatest Earl is though.
You guys don't get the meeting Earl.
You don't, yeah, bad.
Meeting Earl is great.
Yeah.
That a lovely meeting Earl.
It's great.
I can sit there listening to him all day.
Yeah.
I'm so glad you brought that up, Melissa, because here's the other thing that we need to do
with this.
We need to demand accountability out of our politicians, out of people in general, out
of people in the public eye, as much as we also need to accept that as a country, as a
nation, as people, oftentimes we have seen this in history where somebody owns something
and it doesn't always go well for them.
We need to be better about this too and reward that.
I'm not saying that automatically wins you a vote or something.
Right.
And conversation in your own head, in your own heart, having like, well, I may not agree
with him on this, but wow, he owned that.
That's the break.
One of the bravest things you can do in society is owning these things and amitting.
Guess what?
I was wrong.
I do it every day.
I don't understand what's so hard about this.
It really is.
It really is.
It can't.
And he does, mate, he does do it every day, by the way.
I don't.
Yeah, I truly do.
I truly do.
Looking at what's new on your small screen this weekend for today, the two hour special
Macy's Fourth of July Firework Special is going to go on today at seven o'clock in NBC.
And the streaming premiere of Godzilla X Kong, the new empire.
I watched that.
That's not wrong with that.
That's not wrong with that.
I watched it.
I couldn't sleep.
And it was on.
And I'm like, okay, I'll watch it because I am a sucker for monster movies too.
I do.
Yeah.
It had, I wasn't going to watch it, but then I do this.
Does anybody else do this?
Oh my God, looks at him on the fence.
And then I see the cast.
And it's got a couple of actors I like like Dan Stevens and people like them.
I go, okay, I'll watch it because of that.
Yeah.
No, definitely who's in it can sway my wanting to watch something.
Of course.
Yeah.
Visually, very beautiful movie.
And if you like monster movies and all that, you're going to get your fill out of it and
stuff.
But I felt like there were moments in that, so many moments in that movie that were like
they were filming it in the 70s or the 80s or something when they could get away with
a little bit more like, you know, storyline doesn't matter as much.
This doesn't connect to this.
This is wreck buildings.
Yeah.
It just, it just really didn't feel like any of that.
But it was a fun movie.
Yeah.
Enjoy a fun movie.
Have fun with it.
Today on Amazon and in some theaters, space cadet starring Emma Roberts is a party girl
who gets in trouble with NASA and all that.
And tomorrow on peacock, the streaming premiere of Back to Black, the Amy Winehouse Bio

Like happens in a everyday conversation.

So this Sunday as we're leading up to some great guests we have coming up in the next
couple of directors cuts.
We're really got some great guests coming up for you everybody.
Seth and I thought it'd be fun to do this where we're both going to grab a movie and
feature it.
Which movie will you be featuring this Sunday?
So I'm going to do one that I just saw recently.
Just on a on a whim I was looking and you know it's streaming stuff and I saw movie I'd
heard of but I'd never seen before called the killing of a Chinese bookie by the great
American independent film director John Casavetes who was also an actor.
I think a lot of people know who he is and I thought wow this is a really interesting
movie and I did some research on Casavetes as a director and it's really fascinating.
So I think I'm going to try to get it so get people to check it out because it's a really
interesting movie.
So.
Yeah and it's going to be a nice one to highlight.
I will be highlighting the Fisher King starring of course Rob Williams Jeff Bridges directed
by the amazing Terry Gilliam one of those underrated sneaky movies I think that if you
haven't if you've seen it you know right what I'm talking about and you know I think
you know exactly why I'm bringing that movie up if you don't it's one of those ones
that is aged I think very well especially with everything we talk about with mental health
nowadays Jeff Bridges plays a radio announcer a DJ in it so I feel like there's a tie
in there with that.
That's good.
Yeah.
And it's just it's one of those great great movies I've been actually starting to get
better about being able to watch Rob Williams movies again and and by that like two scenes.
But I went I went and made just behind the curtain look here and everything Seth and I were
going to record directors cut on Wednesday.
I asked him if you mind if give me a day to go over some scenes and everything and I'm
really glad you did because I found a couple of interesting notes about that movie.
So even if you've seen that movie before I think I've got some notes on it that you
may have not heard before from Terry Gilliam and who especially in working with Rob Williams
and how how passionate that man was in the energy he had on set I've never I've studied
this since I was seven years old and there is nobody that I have ever heard of that had
the energy that Rob Williams had on a movie set nothing even close to it and we haven't
anything close to it since we'll be talking about those on directors cut this Sunday after
that you got set faces in music from six to eight what do you got feature in this week
Seth which I haven't decided yet I haven't decided yet to do it we're going to do a
best of this week so I'll figure it out you know just tune in it'll be awesome you know
but we great and we've got unlabeled for you eight to nine be sure to check out that one
everybody we're going to be replaying one of our previous episodes because I am working
hard at the next new episodes soundtracks set episodes by the way I don't know if you
caught that because it's got to be a two-parter man it's tape A and tape B there you go side A and
side B side A and side B one week it'll be one set of soundtrack songs the next it'll
be another set but I do believe that then you can make the argument that the nineties were
the biggest era of soundtrack music and we want your request so many good ones yes part
of the reason I'm waiting an extra week to put this one out there is because I want your

possible you um no no no no I disagree I you talk about things that just completely go over my head
yeah the hot dog eating contest and eating contest in general I will say if it's a state fair and
they got a pie eating contest or something like those are fun like sugar face into the pie kind of
that's all fun and everything but these like these actual like corner quote sporting events
quick calling it a sport please stop doing that and it's not even eating call it what it is
swallowing it's professional swallowing is what it is uh i don't get it i don't get it but
rancor dot com had people vote for the most american foods and let's take a look at this list all
right number one isn't something you might make on you might make on a grill uh can you guess it
here are the top 10 most amazing food american foods chosen online by voters okay and as always we
want your audience participation you have the um morning show play at home version all of you've
got that go ahead and call up seven one five four two four twenty six hundred fried chicken comes
in at number one oh that's a good one fried chicken is american uh underrated i think in some ways
but yes i agree i think it is underrated burgers are number two and i'm completely good with that
me too i don't think i would have thought that until i saw it though um but at seeing it like
especially compared to other countries yep the way we are with fried chicken and the way we are
with burgers like that that's i think you could you could interchange them almost actually one
or the other will be fine yeah well there's a lot more versatility with burgers that's true
chicken yes yeah but fried chicken is so good i mean so is some versatility would not say
and there isn't no but you're right though yeah no no you were Melissa you were accusing chicken i'm not
being personal burgers argument for arguments yeah i was i was just gonna sit back and let you
I saw an opening i had to take it you know uh so fried chicken burger at number one burgers at
number two number three barbecue in general like just barbecue just barbecue like it doesn't
matter what it is you can put some barbecue if it's got some sauce on it you're good yeah yeah
the cauliflower puts a barbecue on buffalo wings to that point come in at number four
nice cheese steaks come in at number five oh really i think that's it sounds like that's moved
up on the list that used to be just like a east coast thing you know filly cheese steaks you know
and there was the big debate about who had the best cheese steak oh with the original cheese steak
yeah right right right right it's become much more country wide recently outside of obvious
reasons uh you know with seafood i think seafood hasn't necessarily done this but regional foods
have are no longer regional no they've got to use our audience yeah absolutely biscuits and
gravy at number six oh yum yeah that's a good one that's a good one right there uh at number seven
peanut butter jelly top peanut butter jelly time seriously peanut butter jelly sandwiches come
in at number seven that makes sense to me um because it's cheap yeah yeah get by jar
peanut butter you're you're good for a while right and now you're good to go set yep uh at number
eight the classic and underrated mac and cheese hmm yep yep hundred percent good stuff oh there
are places that do um mac and cheese like specialty mac and cheese are so amazing like lobster
and mac and cheese uh that would be our our good friends over the junkyard have that a lobster
mac and cheese that's that's really good yeah i love uh it seems like everything's giving we get
into this debate of if is mac and cheese a side or a meal and and i can always tell the people who
haven't been to the south uh it's a vegetable down there it's a vegetable it is it is part of the
food pyramid yeah it is a vegetable it's weird but that's what they call it yeah and in the mac and
cheese any any in any of our southern states will blow your mind it's amazing uh it really and nothing
and i love the traditional craft you know or whatever i don't know i can eat that in a wrong
almost every day um but yeah hot dogs cut up into it you know uh it's good stuff good stuff
but there there is something about a southern mac and cheese yeah there is hot dogs come in at number
nine there you go speaking of hot dogs yeah hot dog hot dog baseball because you know yet your
american sport baseball you gonna have your american hot dog with it interestingly set you say
that because hot dogs at nine number ten apple pie of course well pie baseball and hot dogs there you go
chocolate chip cookies are next then grilled cheese sandwiches chili s'mores and pizza only ranked
15th on this list i'm a little surprised that pizza was so far down on there but maybe it's
because of the Italian you know background i wonder how many people yeah to that point i wonder
how many people thought that pizza's not an american thing so they just didn't even think of pizza
because i you got to think that pizza would be a top five if they knew that that was like a true
american kind of thing yeah um even though Italian and american pizzas are very different very so
very different yeah very different um any any honorable mentions or any that you think uh should
have been higher on the list anything like that everybody on this one it's mainly a midwest thing
but why aren't brats on the list yeah yeah you know that's a good question because
and i think it's even more limited than that Melissa i think it's like Wisconsin and and a minute
where i grew up in Minnesota there was lots of brats you know we could get brats but man
how about james how about Illinois are they they big brought eaters down there not really
i'm more Italian sausage more tints similar but yeah but i think that also depends on where i grew up
and compared to like the rest of the Illinois the rest of the state that's true i know for
effect that they're a very popular in the southern part of the state of Illinois okay but like
where i grew up in chicago and everything you've got you've got your brats you you've got plenty
of brats yeah i they're it is one a one b with brats and Italian sausage and you can move either
one of those around but yeah i think Illinois of uh definitely a brats date okay all right
all right and i don't know about i want you see i was too but that's not a very large area geographic
area for that so i think that's a good one uh tacos not on the list and i think that's because of
the the mexican uh sure yeah but but it has been americanized if you in a lot of ways right yeah to
your point above uh Italian pizza in america pizza there's a giant you go to mexico and you order
a taco you are not getting taco bell you are not getting what you think is of a taco not at all not at
all um even where i grew up in chicago with the melting pot of this and all the different cultures
and everything it wasn't until i went out to california that i oh this is a taco oh this is a real
taco this is what a real taco is and everything so well i i know i i had kind of similar story to
that my my family has a enchilada recipe that my mom got from uh at a uh a uh first generation
mexican uh immigrant and that's the her mother's recipe so it's authentic she said she couldn't
write it down her mom said never write it down so she had to teach my mom and say hey memorize this
okay you can't we can't write it down you got to memorize it and these enchiladas are the most
amazing things you i'm telling you man oh good stuff good stuff um recipe that my mom got when she
was out in south dakota that i think should absolutely be the the the like quintessential quintesan
that's not quintessential thank you you're welcome american recipe is fry bread oh yes fry bread
yeah good stuff mm-hmm uh i was uh i was going to mention gumbo i think gumbo is one that you
could throw in there uh three old cooking in general is very distinct yeah yeah uh and i i think
they already touched on it but uh chili i think i really would have thought chili would have been
in the top ten i i thought that that would have been one of those ones were they mentioned as an
honorable mention but i thought it had been high on the list right right little surprise by that
and i think that was and i think you can call chili american because it was down you know in the
tech southwest area and you know it's kind there's kind of a like kind of what you're talking about
Chicago there's a melting pot between you know like the southwest the spanish and the you know
the anglo mixing there too so yeah our food is such an uh a an example a metaphor whatever words
you want to use of us and our culture and what america is at its best it really is it really is
and i it's so cool to uh one of the things i really enjoyed about anthony bourdain is is the
how hard he worked at showing how we are so much more alike than we are apart and how food
it shows that so it's such a perfect example of that most of us are using the same ingredients that
they are over there over here or whatever it's how what we are creativity and what we do with it
that's different and sharing of these meals is one of the most human things you can do not only um
a recipe but cooking for someone else oh absolutely it's pretty cool uh we will take a time out

bad at i already know ones i'm bad at if it has more than three letters i'm out of the loss

night and google looked at the top words or ordinary american struggle with um so actually the
script spelling bee was a little bit ago actually uh yeah that's an older article is an older one
but that's all right for that uh and and i did want to mention that part of this that that and
also uh we apologize for making you think or spell before ten a.m it is just a disclaimer
when i put out there we do apologize as a morning show for making you do that but we did uh they
posted scripts uh did a post today map of the top trending how to spell searches in 50 states
okay so what words are we having a hard time spelling in each state that is what we're going to
get into like california can't spell the word pretty what yeah they spell with an eye they've
been pretty googling that one yeah maybe maybe this one maybe i don't know i or our p-r-e-t-t-i-e or
something like that um new mexico can't spell quiet oh okay quiet i can understand that one
i can understand one interesting that one these are all short words interest so far that's
it that's that's that's a little off okay i i think a lot of us expected some much more you know
difficult words here um north dakota's uh got a trouble they can't keep a secret uh they can't
spell secret like that's that i understand that one then they'd start to get a little bit more
like okay yeah you can start putting your fill absolutely shoes and everything yeah oh for you
Melissa what is it about secret for me it's the last three the c-r-e-t it's that part yeah that's
me yeah that that part gets me i get that a's in the yeah yeah uh can't just struggles with chaos
the h in there you don't hear it no chaos unless you do like weird like that you know uh i i have
no doubt that there are people still spelling it that are uh older than us or older us with a
k we just need us we just need to do k a o s that we need to do that that's what we need to change
it to yes oklahoma doesn't know how to spell animal aminol they do it backwards aminol yes yes
michigan cousin oh i can see that yeah um that i can oh use words with oh you in them those get me
a walk yes and again this is something i think that a lot of us can relate to even if it's not this
word word that has the similar similarities yeah michigan can't spell cousin
feel like there's a joke there no cousin in there it's got a there it's got to be a joke there
oh that was in Chicago was it yeah not michigan it was in Detroit that's good that's good uh let's see here
moving on to oh hi oh hi oh can't spell equal equal another q word um q was always followed by you
everyone remember that yeah you you tend to see can't spell field okay they spell it f-e-i-l-d-a-match
that is that is one of those ones the i before e kind i before e except before c weird main can't
spell heard with an a like i heard you or uh they spell it like a herd of cow
yeah h-e-r-d instead of h-e-e-a-r-d language english just so so confusing i i really do love it the idea of
people um when first coming up on how to spell these things like well this will mess with them
yeah i'm like the idea of them doing that deliberately yeah um for virginia they can't spell
said that's a tough one in virginia they said s-e-d said uh everything's very i i it's sad
everything sad everything what did you sad i can't hear you what did you sad
a few more highlights nivada needs to consult the internet to spell the word internet
that's to be difficult

this oh i have trouble 100 percent that's one of my words i have so much trouble with decision um
uh kentucky definitely can't spell definitely oh i hate that word
another one that's that's yeah that's a tough one uh here's one of the mind trickier ones
indiana is jealous uh for all those people that could spell jealous yeah um um
jealous is one of those ones for me yep uh oh you words like uh nervous as well
mississippi can't spell nervous yep and nervous i'm with them on this one conscious
that's another one i have trouble with yeah uh new hampshire is tortured by the word torture
a ton of people in Wyoming need uh need to spell corduroy a corduroy for some reason
corduroy isn't that's a weird one just the idea why what are they writing in their their
missus that they need to put corduroy in there we uh we've talked about this one before just as
uh go down a side street here for a second have corduroy's come back with all the
fashions that have come back have corduroy's come back i don't i don't i don't think so
i don't think you can find it but i liked my corduroy pants that i had
i i would i would think yes for any other reason than to be able to know when people are coming
you know i mean uh what's that sound oh you're wearing corduroy that's what it is
i'm a little surprised that doesn't come back the three states that can't spell the names of
their oh of other states you talk can't spell mississippi nebraska can't spell california
missus hippies the one of the easiest ones yeah and even though they're neighbors uh
merlin can't spell pennsylvania they're just doing it on purpose that is that doesn't seem a
little personal that doesn't know i can't spell pennsylvania right you talk to somebody in the
Midwest that uh oh i can't spell ohio like you're not come on you're just you're just doing that
that i always confuses me this is doing a thing there uh i like that actually i'm over
over there and how about Wisconsin what word and Wisconsin do we have it's hard time spelling
alley what ally air is it ally or ally ally i'm sorry a lly that's ally that is ally yeah but
alley is close so that can misspell it like that i could totally see that there's just an e
there's just an e in there yeah a l l y um elanoi uh it's uh picture picture the picture
uh you would think picture you would think it'd be winning you would think it would be that'd be
a tough one just to win it wins and winning yeah tell me uh that's settle for one right now

do want to touch on this and we uh did our birthday and anniversary club a little bit earlier we
had one we missed everybody i'm so sorry about that we want to wish our happy hundredth birthday
to cesar salad yay technically it's not official uh because no one sure exactly when the first cesar
salad was made of course not but the leading theory claims it was uh created on july 4th in 1924
one thing historians do agree on is it was named after cesar cardini an italian immigrant who
owned restaurants in the us in mexico he owned a place in tijuana called cezars that opened in 1926
and it's still operating today oh cool they're having a big celebration this week to mark the salad's
hundredth birthday hmm he supposedly uh made the uh he supposedly made the salad um uh on a whim two
years earlier at another one of his restaurants in mexico called in uh called elevity cafe oh okay
it was a little different than the version you see in a restaurant today but as a lot of the same
ingredients just no anchovies though a leading historian claims july 4th isn't really the birthday and
points to immigrants documents uh that say cesar didn't get to mexico until july 7th of that year
the son of a cook named levio centini claims he was actually the one who invented it
his dad told him he made it for him uh himself of one day and cesar put it on the menu a day later
okay at one point cesar's brother Alex also claimed to be the one who came up with it uh so
that's all muddied up why did he name it after his brother then right yeah yeah but one hundred
years later it's still the name after the uh owner of the place and uh the july 4th it generally
celebrated as the anniversary so happy hundredth birthday to cesar salad you want delicious not
bad i'm i'm a fan of cesar salad good stuff good stuff yeah um that's uh i don't know if that's
a good story or not uh but i think it is i think it's good i love food uh history stories those
are always fun if i where does the food come from it's um i love how much of of our food history
ties into our own histories and and where we were in different places in uh in our countries or
our our societies at the times of these you know made so many uh foods that we eat today were made
out of just necessity absolutely not having a lot or an accident or you know yeah something like
that it's so cool really everybody eats that's right we uh i mentioned that line up and it's good

cut we're going to be doing the civic series and our first guests are going to be Jane and Greg

i got to apologize to her i'm calling her every day about things that have nothing to do with civic
it's just personal stuff and i'm so sorry maggy don't do this you can start charging you for that
yeah it's probably should probably should midday magazine from four to five today be sure to

interview we had the other day with savor the arts and our friend cely kissner uh where we are
joined by uh lead singer and band member uh in jimmy buffet pro uh of buffet in the sons of a
sailor band that was a fun interview and a part two family natural foods when katrina was in
with us the other day yeah uh we're looking forward to that that'll be in part two today from four
to five today be sure to join us for that and of course after uh all of that we'll have
playmakers yeah five to six join us live and direct today everybody we're gonna be having some
fun with the show uh we're gonna get into the all-star game talk a little bit about that uh we
will talk about some other fun stuff too talk rafters give away some rafter tickets and of course
whatever you want to talk about it's your show everybody that's right get rid of the game and call
up on playmakers today as we lead you into rafter baseball at six twenty rafters hosting green bay
tonight gonna be uh hosting green bay again tomorrow both six twenty start times enjoy your rafters
as they bill uh they build this uh more and more they're looking better everyone they've been playing
a lot better yeah since the i know the second half just started but i they've been playing better
of late so here's hoping they can do better in the second really nice yeah really nice win uh for
the rafters yesterday that was nice that was a really good one uh do you want to remind everybody too
that we have a blood drive going on right now until one o'clock or two um i did i never heard back
from top so i was waiting to wait here back uh vfw post twenty five thirty four has their blood drive
happening at twenty seven eleven red and road encourage you to uh call on down there and double check
if you are running late or anything and you wanted to get there after one uh i would double check
on that but you can schedule your life saving donation by calling one eight hundred two eight
zero four one zero two two eight zero four one zero two uh we appreciate all of you out there donating
keep in mind as well we'll have other opportunities for you coming up on the 19th from nine to two
over at Lincoln high school at 1816 street south and then on the twenty first ten to three over at
mammal library and there's also the sixteenth and the twenty second at the former east junior high
yeah thank you Melissa uh we also want to remind everybody not only of the um community
blood drive going on with our vfw but tomorrow they're going to be picking up flags uh at the
forest hill mausoleum um start at ten a.m if you can get on down there we greatly appreciate that
more hands means it'll go faster and again just one of those great ways you can put back into your
community and put in and help with our vets i have a quick note for everyone uh yesterday because
of the uncertainty of the weather and the fireworks we did not have our brought fry at the
maravian church we have rescheduled that for saturday tomorrow from ten to two during the farmer's
market so come on down tomorrow looks like the weather is going to be very nice tomorrow so uh come
on down get some brats and burgers and stuff and uh hope to see you there as you can you come down
for the farmer's market anyway so you might as well yeah i'm sure i helped with a flag pickup
you're going to be hungry that's true yeah so come on right downtown yeah that's a great idea great
i do you too uh it's a great idea to invest in your uh community invest in the future you can do
that by stuff the desk uh scuff stuff the school bus desk collaborative this community initiative
led by our united way to ensure every student has the supplies they need to start their school year
you can add to this and you can sign up for this you can sign your kids up for this find out more

that is uh they will still be accepting some people uh the day of but they don't know how many

magazine plenty of morning show guests we're gonna have a lot of fun next week one of the wrap up
with a couple of good stories for you a police dog in texas named indy that's it there for a second
recently retired after nine years of sniffing out drugs and busting bad guys his department paid
tribute by announcing his retirement over police radio and listening uh listing his many
accomplishments oh how cool that's uh it was very nicely done and a record number of centarians
broke a world record in italy uh that is for those that don't know people over the age of 100
70 of them all got together in one spot to break it and amazingly uh it was a record it was uh
a record of amount of people there that's awesome that's a pretty good story that is so cool uh there
there are uh a plenty of good stories out there and i always like to remind everybody not only uh
we want your good good stories but we encourage you to be the good story out there um we want you to
put back in your community to care for your community care for each other i think that a great
example of that is the fourth of july weekend um it gives us a chance to not only have some grace
and some fun but also really appreciate the area we live wherever that is wherever you are
take some time and enjoy your area and uh appreciate those that uh you have in your life
you know me the fourth of july and i just i hadn't thought about it till just now is is a great
way to just celebrate where you are you know this is just we're part of this large country and all
the the uh cool things about it but you know there's a lot of cool things about where you live too
so celebrate it and you have the independence to explore them that's right a woman in minnesota named
holly jorgensen is making headlines again thanks to her odd relationship with the fish
she uh sunfish named greenie almost a decade ago she made a friends with this sunfish
she lives on a lake and he he visits her at the at her dock she hand feeds him and he also follows
her around when she swims oh wow uh the uh it's it's just kind of a neat story if you're curious
i encourage you go check it out it's kind of interesting i've never heard that before uh a
retired couple from rigenia named judy and micha magnam magnamara are getting closer to accomplishing
their dream of eating at every texas roadhouse location in the us oh my god there are 650 of them
they have hit 80 of them or uh and they're uh they're oh i'm sorry they've hit 500 of them
oh wow how they've been doing this in so three they're getting close they're almost there
it's pretty fun you really got to like that menu you really do really door peanuts uh great show
