I'm going to get into some entertainment news to kick things off. We'll touch on some
world events and some local ones. And then a little after that, I want to get into this with
you guys, the most iconic video game characters of all time. All right. We're going to have that
discussion. Also, we got the 10 everyday irritations that can drive us mad. Like mad,
pod holes, things like that. Let's start off with entertainment. And I tease this story over
on the sunrise show and promise to follow through right over here. Be sure to check us out on

Jelly Roll is the perfect example of how you should live your life once you've hit celebrity
status. He's using his time and money for good. Case in point, he just built a music studio inside
the Davidson County, juvenile jail, a place where he spent a lot of his time growing up.
Oh, wow. He teamed up with a nonprofit called Beat for Life that aims to create songwriting
and music programs for vulnerable populations across the country. A shout out to them, by the way.
100%. Also in attendance was the mayor of Nashville, plus 35 hit songwriters.
Oh, wow. Wow.
First, it's Nashville. Yeah. They're all over the place.
Jelly said, quote, I never would have dreamed when I was sitting right here that I would one day
come back and introduce the studio and all these songwriters would come out to support the cause.
And the blank mayor would introduce me because it's Jelly Roll. Yeah.
That's why I'm not playing it for you. That got a huge laugh. And then he said, I would never
guess this. It wasn't in my bingo card in life. But that this all means more to him than we could
ever know. He would said later, when I was in Juve, when I was in Juve, we never got a visitor.
We never had a mentor. Nobody ever came to see us. He also performed for the incarcerated kids
who then got to sit down with songwriters and write their own songs. Wow.
And then if they wanted, they had the opportunity to showcase them to the whole room.
How about that? So those young people had one person believe in them.
Think of the impact that's going to make. Man.
Now think of the impact it's going to make when there's 35 other songwriters in there.
And there's a mayor there. Think about what those kids could do if the whole community supported them.
Yeah. Yeah. 100%. Man. We are so quick to throw away the key on people.
But when it comes to ourselves, ask for grace. We need to do this with more of our society.
We have a, I think, an amazing and perfect sheriff for this and Sheriff Sean Becker.
And our first conversation, Sean, it's talking about ending the revolving door. Oh great.
I hear this from police officers and sheriffs and people all the time.
I'm going to end the revolving door. Okay. And then it goes, I'm going to ask why they did this.
Like, wait a minute. This guy's different. Oh, oh, I want to, I want to get to know these people.
I want to know why they're causing these crimes, why they're, why I keep seeing them every
couple months and all these things. And guess what's happening in Wood County? We are seeing less of
this. We are seeing less of these issues. And it's because of the management at top, the sheriff at
top, the people deciding to change the game, deciding that, hey, it turns out three strikes in your
out doesn't work. Nope. Hey, it turns out higher bail bonds has never worked. Never worked.
Never once in human history. Is there any statistical proof that that lowers crime?
Right. No criminal in human history is every. Oh, I was going to cause this crime, but that bail
bond. Oh, I don't know. I don't know. Yeah. We, we, we fix society by talking to society,
by listening to each other and being there for each other. That's how we get real work done.
And that's true strength. Anybody can punish somebody. Anybody can throw the book at somebody.
It's easy to do that in life. It's easy to do that in society. It's, we've all got personal
relationships where somebody is messed up and we have given them a second chance. And sometimes
it hasn't worked out. Sometimes it has. That's life. That's how this works. Given these kids
an opportunity, given these kids a chance is the greatest thing the jelly roll will do in his
career. Yep. And I guarantee he agrees with me. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. We need more of this.
We need more people. And not just stuff. Not just celebrities. Everybody. We need to all do it
together. I have a fellow teacher of mine, Brian, him and I have a class on Sundays we do
where we have students that are graduating from universities or graduating from acting schools
or anything and trying to help them bridge the gap of where to go next, how to get an agent,
all these things. Part of that class's intention is also having a lot of the kids from my old
neighborhood and Brian's old neighborhood in Austin and some other inner city areas and having
them have an opportunity because most of them can't afford classes. No. So we bring them in,
we give them a little experience. And if they are interested, we find scholarship opportunities
for them. And most of them will start at improv A and second city and some of them do it and some
of them don't. Yeah. But you've got to take the chance. Yep. You have to at least try to put
a hand out there. There are not a lot of, I'm not jelly roll. I'm not some of these people. But
every one of us have that opportunity to be able to put back into our community. Yep.
And find the way to do it, everybody. Be the good. Yes. I become more of a fan of this guy
every day. And I only know like two of us all. Yeah. I feel a little guilty for that park.
Yeah. But bad. This guy's living life. Yeah. fan of him. You don't have to be a fan of his
music. That's, that's whatever. Do you have so much time, James? That's true. That's so true.
Plus trying to find, trying to take the time to listen to new music. Like I, I, I, there are,
there's only a couple of things I miss about being young. That's one of them. Like having like a
little bit of time just to do that. Getting your favorite, your favorite artist and you're getting a
new C, because I'm old, a new CD from them or something like that and like being able to listen
to it. Like now I've got, I've got like favorite artists of mine that I've heard like one or two of the
songs off their album from two years ago. This is usually a sports fan thing. But I think it's
kind of fun to do with things outside of sports. I actually think it's more fun to do with things
outside of sports. Emount Rushmore of what of this particular thing. Like the Mount Rushmore
of singers and you take your, your top four favorite singers of all time and that's who would be
on that Mount Rushmore of singers of all time. That kind of thing. Well, I think it's fun to do.
We do this sometimes. We do it on our sports shows sometimes even the three of us have. But
this is even cooler to me. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone have come up with their
Mount Rushmore of action heroes. And I like this idea because in part, I think that they belong
on that Mount Rushmore. Now join, so they have some ideas of course, they're on it. Of course,
they would put themselves on it and they would be joined by Arnold Wood ad Clint Eastwood and
Slywood ad Bruce Willis. They go. They also sent shout outs to Kiana Reeves and Jackie Chan.
All right. I go. I like that list. I think that's a pretty good list. I wouldn't argue with it.
I would put Bruce Lee on there. I think his body work is not as big as the others. So that's kind
of a crux in that I wouldn't argue with too much. I'm Errol Flynn. I would put Errol Flynn on there.
Errol Flynn's a good one, man. Nice. Nice. Boy, that list is so good. I'm having a hard time
like to do what else or anything. I will say I rambled earlier about TMZ and all that. So I'm
not going to I don't want to give them any press or anything like that. But they just did an
interview with Stallone and Schwarzenegger. And my dad was watching some of it. And I just caught
a little bit of it and everything. And these two are so friendly and they're so good together.
I really wish we could have seen more work with Schwarzenegger and Stallone and their prime.
When they didn't like each other. Yeah. The Egos wouldn't have never allowed it and everything.
It's so interesting to hear the behind-the-scenes stories of these two and the battle that they had
and the friendship that they grew. Someone wrote a book about it. Yeah. Yeah. But I also think it's
very noteworthy. Neither of these two Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone should be where
they are. There's no reason they should be the two biggest action stars possibly of all time.
Not really. Um, Sylvester Stallone told was told his whole life that he wasn't handsome,
that he couldn't speak well. Yeah, he's, yeah, he's weird speaking patterns.
Uh, when he was born in the hospital, they, they had to use sectors to pull him out and it messed
with his lip, which is of course where that comes from. Arnold, Arnold being an immigrant to this
country, uh, did not speak a word of English coming over here. Uh, the fact that these two have
done what they have done. We have normalized. We have made just like, yeah, it's the
alone. Yeah. Slime. Big deal. Yeah. Right. No, not a bit like it's incredible what these two have
done. And we don't need to wait until they pass to be able to say, oh my god, that's pretty darn
cool with those two accomplished. Mm hmm. It's true. It's pretty impressive. Uh, what they have done.
I have a couple I would like to throw out there. Okay. Awesome. To add in, uh, Mila Jovich. Yeah. Oh,
nice reference Melissa. Yeah. Yes. Easily. For a while there. She was like the go-to.
Joan of Arc. Fifth element. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then Angelina Jolie. Oh,
because I loved her and Tomb Raider. Oh, that's good. More than one action thing too. Yeah. She has,
but that one is my favorite. Yeah. Um, wanted. Uh, she is in the action movie wanted with James
McAvoy and Morgan Freeman. And I love that movie. And part of it is because of her performance.
Awesome. One of the things I like about Angelina Jolie is she is one of those actors that learns her,
learns the part, gets everything, every detail, nook and cranny she can on it and then gives you
everything she's got in every sentence. Yep. That I don't believe that she can phone it in.
I don't believe I have never seen her do it. She's wired that way. Yeah. She just, I haven't liked
everything I've seen of every movie I've seen her in, but every performance I've seen of her,
I come away just impressed. Like I, there are a few actors I can think of where every single time
I've seen them and like, oh, that, that person is born to do this. She's one of them. That's a great
right. Both great names, great names. Um, let's see here. I'm going to add the chew on that one
because I really, I was so interested in what you guys had to say. I didn't even think about what
I did. It's a horrible job. It's a horrible job. Um, Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs quarterback,
Patrick Mahomes holds three Super Bowl MVP titles. Uh, but he's too scared to host Senate
Live. Patrick says he's been asked, uh, but doesn't think he's ready. He has a fear of reading off a
teleprompter. That's an interesting fear. He's also still scarred from giving a speech at the 2023
SV awards. Uh, maybe when Patrick finds out that SNL uses Q cards and doesn't have teleprompters,
maybe that'll help a little bit. I don't know. Um, this maybe, maybe this man is, he, he, his
living is made off of running from 306 foot five pound men that run a four two, uh, that are
built and designed to level him, right? To destroy, not just tackle him, but destroy him. Like
that's his job every day. That's what he does, whether it's in practice or it's on the field. Uh,
and yet he's afraid of this. Uh, I bring this up and for one to give credit to the young man
because I think that's very cool that he opens up and he shares this stuff. Uh, it's not,
it's, it's not in an athlete's nature to give you his weaknesses. Uh, not that necessarily he has
to worry about a defensive, uh, although I would love to see a defensive lineman setting up and
like holding up a Q card, like just to free just free. They finally figured out how to stop Patrick.
Can't give a speech. Um, I love this. And it also speaks to like, Hey, if you were out there and
you have ever wanted to act or you've ever wanted to do anything, but you have a fear of it,
hopefully this encourages you. Hopefully this should, this lets you know you're not alone. You're not
alone. There are so many people that you would never guess have a fear of these things that have
a fear of public speaking or have a fear of being present. Um, I think that, uh, one of the greatest
movies you'll ever hear is the King's speech in part because of this. It's not just a great movie
perfectly acted by Colin Firth, a geographer rush and all of that and Helen Bottom Carter. Uh,
it's, it's almost a perfect movie, I think. Um, but it's also sub, you know, subconsciously,
I think a great way of showing you, Hey, uh, even a king had, had public problems with public
speaking and overcame it. I, I think every human being on the planet deserves to feel comfortable
speaking in public. Everybody deserves that. Almost everybody is going to be in a situation where
you're going to have to do that. At some point. Yep. And I, and I, I, I, I really, really think that
everybody deserves to have that good feeling. Uh, I, I, I think I, I, I root for him to be able
to do this one day. Uh, I really do. Just for his own sake, to be able to defeat it. And I think
it'd be funny at it. I think it'd be good at it. I, his voice alone. I, come on, a sketch of
pressure mohomes being like, uh, or how about patch of mohomes and kermit in a sketch? I mean,
with the, those two voices going back and forth, you're not going to be able to tell who's who.
They'd be great. It'd be great. So you should do that's to overcome his fear. Uh, when he gets
ready to retire, he needs to start taking puppeteering. Yes. Yeah. And he's got to be the new
kermit. Yeah. His, his, his voice is so similar. It's, it's right there. It's right there with it
never. They're going to be perfect. Uh, he'd be good at it. Be good at it. What did you, uh, rap of
the segment, uh, talking a little local theater and our good friends over at Lincoln High School's
music, uh, Lincoln High School theater and music departments are presenting my fair lady.
Yes. Indeed. It premieres tomorrow at 630 right over at the performing arts center here in Wisconsin
rabbits. If you can't make that one, maybe on the Friday show at 730 or the Saturday show at 730
or maybe the 2 o'clock matinee on Sunday, this Sunday. Um, this is a classic. I love that, um, I had
a, uh, a younger listener asked me about the details of this again, uh, show ticks for you is where
you get tickets. And I did not have to describe the plate to them or they, or they movie to them.
They knew it. Like this, this still holds up this one. This is, uh, one of those shows, one of
those plays when I was movies. It is very cool. Uh, support these kids support local theater. All
the things I have been saying throughout the show today and other shows and everything is, uh,
it all comes down to this supporting kids showing up to these plays. Um, um, you are going to,
you're going to see live theater and man, they're much better than the world entertainment-wise
in live theater. No one check it out. It is speaking of live theater. Our friends over at Wisconsin's
rapids community theater have their main stage finale, rumors, uh, premiering next month,
May 3rd to be exact. Get your tickets for this one. A lot of your local, uh, WRCT favorites
around that main stage, some new faces. Uh, it's a great fun show. Neil Simon did an amazing job

one of the biggest box office stars of all time and always will be. I don't think that like,
I don't think they'll ever come out of the top five no matter what happens.
Right. Uh, the Star Wars, Indiana Jones, uh, the Joe, uh, the, uh, the Jack Ryan series. Uh,
and that's not even including all the other side movie, other movies that he didn't. Yeah, right.
Well, that man's career. My God. Something and didn't even graduate. Didn't even graduate.
And then he went made firewall and, and, and, and he's one of ours.
Yeah. That's true. Well, and then he made the devil's own.
Oh, that was bad too. Harrison Ford with an Irish accent is not something that even,
even he had no, he's apologized for that. I remember. He's literally apologized for that role.
Like that's crazy. Anyway, uh, our phone lines are open as well to hear your favorite video game
characters of all time. Who's your favorite video game character? Uh, this might be a bit of a
surprise. According to a global poll of 4,000 gamers, who is the nut most iconic video game
character of all time? Uh, I think it's an interesting one to see at the top of the list,
but we can't get to the number one first. We can't do it that way. Uh, we're going to start.
We're going to start at 20 and work our way up. We'll go through fast, uh, fast with some of these
just to keep, uh, you know, time sensitive and everything. But at number 20 is Nathan Drake from
Uncharted at number 19, Ellie Williams from the last of us. Uh, and then I see, uh, coming up in
a little bit at number 17, Astoron from Baldur's Gate three. Oh, what? That's interesting.
Baldur's Gate three. Yeah. What? Oh, come on, man. Uh, it's got to be Minsk from Baldur's Gate one.
Okay. There. I was waiting for something. Yeah. I figured that was. I hope Minsk is on this list.
Anyway, uh, Cloud Strife from the Final Fantasy series. Final Fantasy seven. Yes. Yeah. That's a good
one. That's an icon of character. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, so much good music in that one. You're right, Mel.
One of the sneaky things about a good video game, the soundtrack, um, the soundtrack. I think
that that's one of the things. The reasons why I super Mario three has always been one of my
all time favorite games and it's all the music and it is so good. Yeah. By the way, I tell anybody,
but I used a lot of video game music for the ballet that I directed. That's awesome. That is awesome.
That is awesome. By the way, Final Fantasy's up to what? 17 now. Yeah. Really? Wait a minute,
Final Fantasy. Somebody, that's weird marketing. So weird marketing. Yeah. It's, it's,
it's got, I thought that about the final destination movies when they gathered the like
20 other. Yeah. Wait, wait, wait, wait. How was there so many sequels in there in Final
Destiny? I feel like you should have saved the final part for the last one. Crash Bandicoot comes
in at number 15. Ah, yeah. That's a good one. That's a good series games. That's fun.
Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid at number 14 as well. Wow. That's a good one.
Some of these characters go way back too because I remember the first Metal Gear.
I mean, yes. Yeah. That was a fun game. That was a hard game. That was a hard game.
Those were very hard. Yeah. That's fun. Steve from Minecraft.
Have you played it? Yeah, I haven't played that one. I know all my nephews. Yeah, my kids,
you know all about it. Yeah. That is it. That seems like a cool game. It seems like Legos on a
video game. Yeah. And it's, it's cool because it's got, you know, different ways of doing it.
You can do survival mode, which is like, you know, you, it's more like an action game. But then
there's the creative. You just build stuff, which is cool too. My, my godson Cole. It's one of my
biggest memories of him is always playing Minecraft and getting me to like, you gotta see what I
did here on Colt James and that kind of thing. And it just how creative that game seemed.
It seems like a really good game for you. It can be very creative.
Pikachu from Pokemon. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Of course. I have Pikachu. I'm actually a little
surprised. That's not higher on the list. That just gave, and I just wrapped up everything I know
about Pokemon. But that's one guy now. Pikachu then. But even I know who Pikachu is. Exactly.
Yellow guy. Yeah. Yeah. That's him.
The great Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption. Red Redemption 2 to be exact. But I believe
the first one is well modern gamers. God. I love that game. Oh, the first Red Dead Red Dead Red
Redemption. I loved. I have never like every job I've ever had. I've only been laid a couple of
times for any of those jobs. It's just the way I was raised. It's a big part of my, my work ethic
and my personality. I like to be early for a job. I don't mind being an hour early. I'd
rather be an hour early than one minute late. I was late for an audition because of Red Dead Redemption.
Like that's how into that game. My God, man. You get to ride a horse. You can tell you get to,
I mean, live every, every Western fantasy you have, you get to live through that game and
in incredible graphics. Yeah. Yeah. Awesome game. At number 10, Shadowheart from Baldur's Gate 3.
That's it. What? Yeah, I know. This list was just this list was just designed to aggravate us.
Yeah. They got two from Baldur's Gate 3.
Kratos from God of War shows up. That's a good idea. Not a surprise there. Yeah.
Master Chief from Halo. Yeah, not a surprise there. No. I never played the Halo game. Me neither,
but I know Master Chief is. So that's that's something. Yeah.
Way too low on this list, I think. Link from the Legend of Zelda at number seven. He's at number seven.
That's crazy. Wow. I thought he'd be in the like top two. I love that game. I love the original.
Even the original man. It's still fun. It's still fun to play it. Yeah. Did you get to play the
the original Melissa? Oh, yeah. I thought I thought you were saying that. Yeah. Cool. Very cool.
Very cool. Pac-Man comes in at number six. Yeah. That's good. I would say some people are still
iconic. Pac-Man is. Although I always heard that Miss Pac-Man was more fun to play than
Pac-Man, the original Pac-Man. The Miss Pac-Man was much more popular. Yeah. Yeah. It sold like,
I'll back back when they measured these things and how many actual video games were in stores and
arcades and stuff. Yeah. Yeah. It was like of all time. It was one of the most popular arcade games.
At number five, Sack Boy from Little Big Planet. Yeah. I don't know that one. I know the character.
Again, I know the character. The character is kind of cool looking. I know, but that's that high
in the list. I didn't realize that game was that popular. Wow. Looking at this list, I think we know
the age range that voted out of a lot of them. Yeah. I have privy to the top five, but at number five,
Sack Boy, at number four, Sonic the Hedgehog. Yeah. Oh, absolutely. Got to be the top five. Fun character,
fun character. Never ask Sonic to make change. Never. You're going to be there all day. All day.
By the way, the one ancillary character that I love is Tails, because his real name is Miles
Prower. Oh, that's good. His nickname is Tails. His real name is Miles Prower. That's good. Which is
one of the great, great, great, prouder puns of video game history. I love it. It's very, very, very.
At number three, Agent 47 from Hitman. Like how did that get in the top three? What?
Yeah, I barely know that game. Isn't that like a first person shooter game? You don't even see
the character. I don't even remember if it is a first person, but there's like, I know there's
three. I think there's like three, a couple of sequels, but again, didn't realize it was that
popular. I wonder if first person shooters should be on the list. You don't really see the
character. I agree. Actually, I agree with you. I don't know. I'm going to anger some people
on that one, but I don't know if they should be on that. At number, now this is surprising to me.
I think if I asked a survey of anybody in this area, all of our listeners, all of that,
who's most iconic character of all time, it would be who comes in at number two, Super Mario.
Mario? I don't say Mario. That's a two. That's a two.
I'm going to be fascinated to see who number one is. And at number one, Laura Crawford. That's
two, but I thought. Yes. Woohoo. Isn't that pretty cool, Mel? Yeah. When you said,
borderline shocking, when you brought up in Jolene, Jolene earlier, almost squealed.
That's perfect. That's perfect. I need to pay money to hear you square. That to me,
that is fascinating, but considering how recognizable Mario is, he's been he has been
pulled as the most recognizable character, period, more than Mickey Mouse over the world because
of all that is borderline shocking to me. Wow. There's a couple you didn't mention that I feel
need to be mentioned. Spyro? Oh, yeah. Spyro. Yeah. Spyro the dragon. Yeah. A little sarcastic
dragon. I loved it. Love him. He was awesome. And what about Kirby? Oh, wow. Oh, I'm surprised
Kirby didn't make that. Not even in the top 20. Wow. Great references. Yeah. How about Donkey Kong?
Yes. Well, I love Donkey Kong. He's one of my all-time favorites. I just had one here. No,
now I lost it. Oh, no, no. Yo, she's great. Yo, she's absolutely good. Yeah. That's a good one.
Oh, Gex. Oh, Gex. Yeah. Gex was awesome. I love Gex. That's good. That's a good one.
And the the the comedian who voiced him. Oh, yeah. Dana. Dana.
Dana Gold. Yes. Dana Gold did the voice for him. Yeah. He was awesome.
Underrated comedian. Oh, yeah. Underrated comedian. And writer. Yes. Very good writer.
So I'm also a little surprised that there's only one Mario character in the top 20.
That's the two. Princess Peach. Yeah. Toad. Come on. Toad. Luigi. I'm told. Yeah. That's awesome.
I will a wholeheartedly admit. I was I was a lot older than I like to admit when I realized
that toad that's a hat. That's not his head. I thought he had an afro. That's what I was
like to but I thought he had a cooler bro. I really did. I don't even admit that. Oh gosh. Yeah.
They must have gotten a wide variety gamers though. Considering this the real interesting. Yeah.

It feels like a lot of the generation after us that voted on this. Yeah. And I think it's pretty
cool. And it also there's another note of this too that I don't know how much has been reported
or anybody has heard about or anything for almost the last 20 years. One of the things that
has been really on the rise is women gamers. And women taking over the not only the gamer industry
and playing video games and professional video game playing and all that but programmers and
designers in that. And you're seeing much much more than that. There's a lot of things that
were a boys club for a long time. That industry more than most. And it has been almost a complete flip
in the other direction in the last 20 years where that's gone. So I think that that's another
note worthy thing when you see a lower craft ahead of a Super Mario or some of these other
characters. It's pretty interesting. And pretty cool. Good on the video game industry for being
more woke than so many others. It's been a long hard road. Yeah. It's been a long hard road.
We got some local in state news and sports to get to. We're going to cover that for you right

annoying like the paper clip and on the paper cutter or something like that. Paper clips can be
annoying too. Yeah. When they don't work. Well, we'll take a break. We'll come back more fun.

radio. Melissa, Seth and James here with you. We hope you're having a good, good day out there
and not having too many early morning irritations. Too many things that are just jingling
buggy. They get a little thing there. We're going to talk about the big stuff. We're talking about
those little things that feeling annoyed on the norm. Two-thirds of people in a poll say that
they're generally more annoyed now than ever before. Oh, wow. 45% said that they can't remember the
last time they went a full 24 hours while feeling irritated about something. The average is three
annoying things a day. It's something to keep in mind. I mean, I'm literally taking a step back
and thought about me neither. Yeah. So here are the top 10 everyday irritations you might encounter
today and it doesn't look like these are in any, you know, in a particular order. So I'm just
going to go from number 10 on. The last person in the bathroom uses up the toilet paper and doesn't
replace the roll. Yeah. Don't do that. Don't do that. It takes just moments, mere moments.
Don't do it. Just don't do it. When someone could hold the door for you, but doesn't.
Yeah, that one's annoying. I don't put that on other people necessarily because usually when
it's happened to me, I don't think that they notice me. Right. But I also, there's certain things
in life. I feel like you get an idea of strangers like you get it. Okay, I get the kind of person
they are. There's a there and it's judgmental. I hardly admit. But when somebody doesn't do that,
I'm almost thankful. Like, okay, I know that jerk. I know that person. Does anyone else do this?
Like what I do? Okay. I know someone's walking behind me. Okay. And now what I have to do is judge
the distance they are behind me to know whether or not to hold the door for them. Does anyone
else do that? Absolutely. A hundred percent. Almost every building I've ever gone into when
there's somebody behind me. It's like, sometimes you want to hold it for them. But then if you do it
too long, like they're like way back there and you kind of feel like then you have to run sheepish.
Yeah, because it's happened to me and the guy holding the door was like, no, no, you don't need
to hurry. I got all day. I'm just standing here. It makes me feel a little awkward. I need to.
Yeah. When I was a teenager, I did this once and I held the door open a little longer than
probably normal for this older lady that came through. And she came in and it was at a gas station.
And I'm doing this and she comes over and she asked me if I could fill her gas for her.
I did it. I actually went on the job training. I was like 16. I don't know if I did it. You
probably weren't even supposed to do it. You can't. No, I didn't. I ran. I took off right away
because I thought I was going to get in trouble before it was up. But yeah, the distance thing
is so hilarious to me. Do you do the heart swing? Like, if they're a little farther away,
I'll keep the like, I got to walk in anyway. So I'll swing the door a little harder.
After that a few times. Hopefully it stays open long enough where they catch it. Yeah, exactly.
It's crazy to think of like we have an actual plan for this stuff. It's like it's happened
that much that we. It's common courtesy. It's true. Yeah. A cyclist who hog the road.
Yeah. Yeah. Now, I think that we need to do a better job and infrastructure when it comes to
making room for walkers and bikers and all that. And walkers and bikers of transportation besides cars.
Right. Yes. And I, you know, when a sidewalk has got snow on it or anything like that,
I get that, you know, sometimes you have to go on to the road. But on any other time of the year,
like you got to be smarter than us. I've been a bike rider. I've been on a bike a lot in life.
And you got to be, you got to think of the road. You have to. Should you have to? No. No,
you shouldn't have to. But you got to. You have to get, stay off of that road. If there is a sidewalk,
stay on the sidewalk. End of, end of discussion. There's no, it is a bicycle. It does not belong
on the street. There is no reason for that. It is part of the reason we have the accidents we
have. We have some of the issues we have is that people not staying in their lane, literally.
It's not asking too much. I don't think. It's, you know, it's for the safety of everybody.
One of the first things I learned about being on a bike or being in a vehicle and being behind
the wheel, it's not about me. And making sure everybody else is safe, being an observant driver,
an observant rider, whatever it might be. It's important. How many times does a kid jot it out
in front of you? Yeah. The only way that they learn not to do those things is if they see adults
acting like adults and not riding their bicycle on a street road all over the, yeah, all over the
road when there's a perfectly good sidewalk right there. That's right. Just to put out the caveat,
technically in some places you can't ride your bike on the sidewalk because it's illegal.
And see, that's wrong too. That doesn't make any damn sense.
There should be a bicycle lane. Yeah, exactly. That should be the thing. If they don't have a
bicycle lane, there should not be any, where you're supposed to ride your bike that on the road,
where there are, no, it doesn't make any sense. It doesn't make any sense to me. Slow walkers,
especially when you're in a hurry or that is a little bit of a pet peeve, especially if they won't,
if they're like taking up the whole space that you can't get around them. This is me every
time I'm at Walmart. I try so hard to get in and out of Walmart as fast as humanly possible.
Like a blink. If I'm literally going around to the other end of the aisle so that you can access
the bread that's being blocked, but there's another one we all do where you're about to go into the
aisle and you eyeball it. You're like, oh no, I can't get in from over here. I got to go around.
I got to go around to get my item. Yeah, that's a good one about it. That's a good reference.
You can't remember a password. Oh, yes. Yes, this happened last week.
Oh, all the time. All the time. It's a rough one. That's for manager. I'm going to say
bad parkers who take up more than one space. Yeah, it's so easy to correct bad parking.
You don't, it takes like seconds. Yeah, don't just leave it. It's bad park your giant vehicle.
Yes, yes, yes, Melissa. Park it somewhere else in the lot where there's not a room. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, we all see you in a Hummer. Okay, you don't need to, you don't also need to park it. Take a two
or three parking spaces. You talk about one of the ugliest vehicles we'll ever see the Hummer.
I'm with you. It's not just. I know. I kind of like him. Oh, you would. I'm older ones.
Oh, okay. I'm also a Jeep fan and okay, Melissa, now you got me. All right, the older ones,
the older ones, not too bad. I'm thinking of the modern ones and this new thing that Elon
most came out with or whatever that I literally think he came out with that new electric Jeep
or whatever Hummer thing that he has just to see if anybody would buy it. Just to see if he could
do that. I don't think anybody actually really wants that thing. Pretty much. I don't like most
modern vehicles. I think they don't have the same. They do. They do. Yes, they all look like nobody
takes chances anymore of vehicles. Being stuck on hold. People who don't use turn signals.
Oh, yeah, that drives me nuts. Again, down, up, on one motion to do the turn signal.
I've mentioned this one before, but the people in they're going, they're driving one way,
another person driving the other and they stop in the middle of the road to have a conversation.
I can't stand that. I cannot stand that. Get old. Anything more than just hi, good to see you,
wave and keep going. Yeah, anything more than that. Go to a coffee shop. Go to go to a coffee shop.
Discover this wonderful invention cell phones or phones or or I write a letter. I don't care.
The roads go old school. Don't block the roads. Roads are not meant to be stopped on. They're meant to
go. They go. That's their whole reason for being. Pot holes comes in at number two. Those are
rough. You think that's real damage. Yeah, especially if you don't see him coming. He can slow down
or something like that. We'll save number one for a moment. Let's go ahead and check in with
our listeners. Good morning. What's on your mind? Yeah, riding bicycles on a sidewalk.
When I was a kid, well, that was like over 70 years or 70 years ago. But anyways,
if you're under eight, you could ride your bike on a sidewalk. If you're over eight, you had a
ride in the street. Oh, wow. Yeah. We actually had bicycle court. Oh, why? If you've got caught
riding on a sidewalk, you were like 12, 13 years old. You would have to go down there and write
sentences. Wow. Wow. All right. Now, this is just between us, sir. Were you ever, did you ever
have to go to bicycle court? Did you? No, I don't. Okay. I don't remember to go in yet. Yeah. Okay.
I know. I know. Well, I was already 10 years old when I went out. Okay.
All right. Well, I could ride. By the way, that's interesting. I did not know that.
Yeah, to be eight years old. Yeah. Yeah. He's interesting. How about that? Wow.

That's interesting. That's fascinating. Yeah. That is a good note. It is much safer for young
children, especially two ride bikes on the side. Exactly. Yes. Yeah. Before I give the number one,
any honorable mentions, any you guys want to throw in there? I was trying to say it earlier,
but paper cuts. Yeah. You know, paper notes are so annoying. So annoying. Stop lights that turn yellow
as soon as you're getting close. Yes. Yeah. You could we could have to stop. We can do a laundry
list of like driving driving ones. Right. I mean, there's so many for driving because people
step into that, you know, that little box and they lose their mind. So many people just lose
their mind. I don't know what happens, but you know, I know I've joked about it before, but it
just throws me so much that the the the sterotypical Californian that I would meet. And I only say
that because there was a lot of Californians like this where they they have this really easy going
personality. They're wonderful and they hey, you need to ride somewhere James. Yeah. I'd rather do
that than take the bus. That'd be easier. Well, let's go. I get in the vehicle and they it's a
completely different person. It is it. I'm not I'm not exaggerating. It is a completely different
person. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And nothing changed other than the ignition. Like that's it.
It's crazy. I it's so weird. My favorite my favorite moment, maybe one of my favorite moments in
California on the roads. They got, you know, 10 lane highways out there and stuff. It's insane.
I've never driven on anything like that before. Even all my experiences driving in Chicago,
nothing prepared me for driving in California. Right. And there's this wonderful, you know,
very everybody has seen this van. It's a hippie van. It's got the big piece sticker on there. A
bunch of grateful dead stickers and all that. I see the driver. He's got these huge dreads
in everything. And I see the driver because he has given me one of the most gigantic middle
fingers I've ever seen. And he's screaming his head off at me. Like with all the yeah, with all
these peace sides out there and everything. This guy, I thought he was going to get out of the
vehicle. He's like got his head out the window as he's driving and yelling at me. Oh my gosh.
That was not so scary. I feel like they save all their angst and anger for being on the road.
I think you may have something there. So number one, on the list, when someone doesn't clean up
after their dog, especially once you step at it. Oh, oh, that's the one. That's the one. That's
got to be the worst. Yeah. Yeah. That's the one. Honorable mention when there's a sticky stuff
on something when there's a sticker and you pull up the sticker and you can't get that adhesive
off. Every time you pick it up, it's got that little stickiness to it. Honorable sticky gets dirty.
Yes. Honorable historical mention that the sticky tape they put on top of CDs.
Yes. Yes. Worst thing ever. Worst thing ever.
Those cases that CDs used to come into. Possibly get open. Yeah. Yeah. When a package says
peel here or tear here and you do, but it doesn't work. It never goes all the way.
Yeah. Oh, man. Chips. Chips. Just chips. Like when's the last time you bought a bag of chips
and it was full to the top. Oh, forget it. It just doesn't have a deflation. They do.
There's a lot of this stuff. We'll keep this list going to the end of time.
