Good morning, Wisconsin. Good morning, world. It's a new day. Thanks for kicking it off
with us right here at 97-5-5-5-13-28-MWFHR. We are locally grown radio. Got your host, James
J. behind the mic. I am joined by Katrina Hintner from Family Natural Foods. Hey, hey.
We are together. We're going to have some fun. We're going to take you through the hour
here and we got good things lined up for you, everybody. Good, good stuff coming up for
you in a little bit. We're going to be joined by Lon Radke, Port Edwards Village trustee.
Lon is going to join us at 9.35, looking forward to that. We got that in right story for
you. Lots of local stuff I want to get to. A lot of great things going on in the area.
I want to touch on all of that. We'll get to some other fun stuff too, as we're going
along here. We kick off the 9 o'clock hour usually with some entertainment news and one
of the touch on just a couple of things programming wise here at the station. Yeah, what do we have
going on?
In particular, we will not have a midday magazine for you today because we will have Badger
basketball.
Because they did well.
Badgers had actually I think I saw the second or the third biggest largest margin of victory
win in a big 10 matchup against Maryland. Like they beat them down. Yeah. And they're going
to be trying to do the same thing to my mother's Northwestern Wildcats today. As they are facing
off Northwestern ranked fourth Wisconsin ranked fifth. They'll be playing at 130 today,
which of course means we will not have a midday magazine. But because Pam is so good at
what she does, she was able to masterfully put together the guests that we were going
to have on are still going to be able to join us. Yesterday, after I was done with our
shows, I got to have a great conversation in studio with our Alice in Dairyland. And
we're going to play that on Mondays. We're usually in the 9 o'clock hour right in this
time slot on Monday. So we'll kick off our 9 o'clock hour talking to Alice in Dairyland.
She's got some really cool things going on that we wanted to highlight. And she was nice
enough to come in. So we're going to have some fun playing that for you. We were scheduled
to interview Senator Patrick Teston today. We're still going to do that. We'll just be playing
it at a later date. Senator Teston will join us and we will air it next Wednesday at 10.30.
All right. I'm sorry at 3.30. Next Wednesday. Okay. So that interview will air then. And
always appreciate Senator Teston's time and working with us in our schedule and what Pam
and his office are able to do together managing so that him and I can conversate. It really
appreciate all the work that they do on that. So good. So we'll still be covering the
bases here. Absolutely. We're going to the League of Women voters joining us as well next
week. Looking forward to that also. That's perfect timing. But cheer on your badgers. On
Wisconsin. They will be back on the radio today at 1.30 as they hope to march on in the
big 10 tournament. And we'll be talking about it on playmakers on Monday. I'm sure. I'm
going to have going to try to have Mike Clemens join us on Monday. Cool. Getting into some
entertainment news. Just one of the touch on just a couple of things. So this is kind of
interesting. Say Patrick's Day of course Sunday. So read Drummond from the Food Network put
together a list of movies to celebrate. So a guy from the Food Network put together a
bunch of movies. Okay. I would have expected like food to try. It's a good day. But he's got
movies for you. I like this. That's all right. So some movies that you can watch if you want to
celebrate the Irish a bit. There is bell fast from 2021. The luck of the Irish from 2001.
The Boondock Saints from 1999. I guess that technically does. Although be careful. That is a
violent movie. I love that movie. I am a big fan of that movie. But I also like edgy movies.
Like if I like it, you might want to take it with a great assault. I don't know everybody's
going to love it. But I know I'm a big fan. I really like that movie. The Banshire, the Banshees
of Inshire is also on this list. That just won some awards last year's Academy Awards.
A lot of people like that movie. It seems like one of those black and white movies. Like either
people love it or they really don't like it. So another one of those ones you take with a grain of
salt. PSI Love You is a bit of a bad that one had a lot to do. Yeah, there's a little Irish
and of course far and away from 1992 Tom Cruise Nicole Kidman. That one. I don't know how much
the movie holds up. I will say Nicole Kidman's acting is good no matter what the decade, no matter
what the era. But I think the thing that I would recommend about that movie if you're
looking for an Irish movie or a movie to have or anything. The cinematography of Ireland is so it's
it may be the best we've ever seen of Ireland in a movie. It's so well done. Even just watching
that, even just watching for that I think would be noticeable and fun to enjoy. I know for me
there's a lot about Irish culture that I like and I admire in that. But I will always come
back to how beautiful that land is over there. It's just so beautiful in Ireland. Here
gorgeous. Yeah, yeah. And I think of that right away. That's to me that's one of the ways to
celebrate Ireland is thinking of the cliffs of Dover and I know so many of the beauty
beautiful aspects of that country. And looking at what's new on your small screen this weekend.
Today on Max, this dream premiere of Dream scenario starring Nicholas Cage is a dark comedy
and Nicholas Cage in a dark comedy. That's all I got to tell you. I don't even have to tell you
the plot. Also on Netflix tonight Irish Wish it's starring Lindsay Lohan. She's a bride's
made who makes a spontaneous wish for love on an ancient stone in Ireland and of course love
happens. Is this something that's been around for a long time? No, it's a new movie star. And she's
so she's acting again. She's working out good for her good for her. And also on peacock tonight
trolls band together and a Kendrick and Justin Timberlake do the voices of the trolls characters.
Also got a bunch of other big name actors in there. On Netflix tonight the wonderful world of
Henry Sugar and three more. An anthology of four short films based on Rowan Doll's stories.
It stars Ralph Fines and I think the greatest actor in the world right now, Benedict Cumberbatch.
I think it's not easy for me to say that not because I don't like him but I don't say it lightly.
But I do think that if I had to chew I think Michael Fastbender is up there.
James McAvoy. There's a couple that are up there in that list. Obviously Helen Miran or
Meryl Streep's the best actor on the planet right now. Period. But outside of that especially people
that are working a lot, Benedict Cumberbatch is the best. He by far the way is the greatest actor
going around right now. Benedict Cumberbatch is so good at acting. He can go by the name Benedict
Cumberbatch. That's how good he is. Go by that name. Seeing him in a TV show, it's always fun.
He was really good in Sherlock. He is such a good Sherlock.
This is a really interesting one. It's a conspiracy thriller and a seven-part limited series
about the manhunt for John Wilkes Booth after the assassination of President Lincoln.
It's actually like polls from actual reporting and stories and everything that went on at that time.
It's a very interesting take on I don't know how it's going to be or if I'll even get a chance to
watch it if I'm being honest. I don't have a lot of time. But it does sound like an interesting
telling of American history. The 55th NAACP image awards will be on CBS and BET and VH1 on Saturday
at 7. American Idol Auditions on Sunday and ABC at 7. You can check those out. What's new on your
big screen? What is new in movies this weekend? Not a whole lot. It's going to be a little bit
before you start getting a whole lot of releases. At least as far as national wide releases,
especially here in Rapids, you're probably not going to see most of these. But one of the movies I
definitely want to see remembering Gene Wilder, a documentary about the life and career of legendary
comedian Gene Wilder. It includes his struggles with Alzheimer's, features interviews with Mel Brooks,
Richard Pryor, Rain Pryor, all kinds. Gene Wilder, one of my biggest influences, one of my favorite
human beings to ever walk the planet. Love Gene Wilder. I'm looking forward to seeing that.
Knox goes away. It's a movie starring and directed by Michael Keaton. That's in limited release,
but I can't wait to see that. Michael Keaton directing. That sounds good to me. I'll hear for that.
There was a wonderful moment in the Oscars where Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito
go to give an award together. Of course they're famous. They're actually long-time friends. They
did friends for a long time. They did the movie Twins together. Everybody expects them to reference
that. Instead, they also both played Batman villains. Danny was the penguin and Arnold was Mr.
Freeze. They're talking a little bit about that experience and everything. They're like,
yeah, and then the bat got me. That darn bat got me. They flashed to Michael Keaton.
And there's Michael Keaton. And Michael Keaton did not know that they were going to do this,
but Michael Keaton played right along with it. He's given them the scowl. He's
getting ready to get ready. Those three are really good friends. They've been friends for a long
time, but he played along with the bit. Never. They go hilarious. Very nicely done.
Also, new in theaters this weekend, One Life, a war drama based on the true story of a British
humanitarian named Nicholas Winton. It stars John Flynn, Anthony Hopkins,
Helen Baum Carter, Anthony Hopkins, another one of the greatest actors in the world in
acting today. And let's see Arthur the King, starring Mark Wahlberg, also in theaters this weekend.
So just a couple of other things. I wanted to make sure that we touched on, make sure we got in.
And I have to do a little shameless promotion. I real quick. I have to.
We got. And I'm doing it because I've become that. I have realized Katrina that I have become
that dad that takes every opportunity to highlight his kids and to ramble about his kids.
And I love my son, love my youngest daughter, JC Isabel. They're fantastic, incredible human beings.
I just got to hang out with my oldest daughter, Brea yesterday. And Brea was telling me that our
podcast with the Muppet has gotten more and more popular and more and more people subscribing to
it and everything. We really appreciate that from everybody out there because I got a feeling that
a lot of you out there listeners have been helping with that. And we appreciate it.
Brea wanted to create a little apparel store, have some merch. So she went on Etsy and she,
we've got some stickers on there. Coffee cups, some t-shirts. If you are an Etsy person,
you go on there, you type in what the Muppet and you can find it. Whether I just would like you
to check it out, whether you buy anything or not, that's to your own. All right. I just think that
it'd be kind of cool to check out. I'm really proud of her. I really, I don't know how you would
even do something like that. Like she's like, hey, I have this idea. I'm like, okay, and I expect
like a couple weeks from now, maybe we will have something we'll go. It was two hours later and she
had this up and running. The kid is just incredible. Check it out, everybody. You got your on Etsy,
check out what the Muppet and, you know, see what there's anything I like out there and stuff.
I love it. That's great. I also wanted to mention locally our friends at Save of the Arts wanted
to let everybody know that the Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis Tribute show scheduled for Thursday,
April 4th, has been canceled in this right from Executive Director Sally Kissner. Quote,
we've been notified of a medical situation that will prevent this group from performing. Unfortunately,
this is how life rolls sometimes. Thank you for understanding. Anyone who purchase tickets will be
notified by letter as of their options and a big shout out to Sally and the great work she does,
wishing nothing but a good health to the cast and all the performers of Dean and Jerry and
that great tribute show. They do a really good job with that. Hopefully, when better days, maybe we
can get them back to town. Yeah, absolutely. And one of the also mentioned a big shout out to WFHR,
longtime friend of WFHR, Matt LePay. The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association announced
there are four people that they're going to be honoring with the membership of the WBA Hall of Fame,
Steve Brown, Pat Low, Dave Robinson, all amazing human beings who will put such great work into
this state. And of course, Matt LePay. Awesome. Matt LePay for decades has been talking and bringing
you sports. I can't think, I can't even imagine how many generations of kids their favorite highlight,
their favorite play from the books, the Badgers, the Packers, any of these things. It was that voice
that got it to you. Yes, it was. Matt is nice enough was nice enough and kind enough to join us on
the airwaves. I've gotten to talk to him a couple of times on air off air. What you see is what
you get with that man. I mean, just as kind and as fun as you can imagine. He's a great conversation.
Really, it couldn't happen to a better guy. Congratulations. Very well deserve, sir. And I can't
wait for that speech. That's going to be a good one. That's going to be good. We love and encouraging
encouraging to support the arts. And while we talk about a lot of our local community theaters,
so many of our kids out there are working their tails off and giving you great performances as well.
And I want to encourage everybody to check out the Nikusa High School Musical Hunk and ugly duckling
of a musical. Cute. It premieres tonight at seven over at the Nikusa High School auditorium at 500
Cedar Street and beautiful Nikusa. Go check it out. If you can't make it tonight, they will have a two
o'clock matinee tomorrow and a seven o'clock show. We had the cast on. If you'd like a preview,
go ahead and go to civicmedia.us. Look at Midday magazine. You'll catch the interview right there.
Great kids. Really good cast. It's almost not fair that they're so talented.
They blow me away. I think they might be better than me. I think they might be. They're really good.
Go check it out. Support those kids and help them with a great crowd, a great audience.
Assumption has a talent show this weekend. Actually starting today, a royal entertaining
competition, singing, dancing, comedy, impersonators, a variety show with all acts of all ages.
And not for nothing. This is pretty good prizes here. A thousand dollars for first prize,
five hundred or bucks for second. Like, yeah, that's pretty cool. It's the community thing.
Not just you. Okay. Cool. Go ahead and check it out. It will be tonight at seven. This will take
place over at Assumption High School. Let's see here. And Saturday, they'll have a dinner in a
show. Five from it'll start at five five five thirty cocktail hour in cash bar. Five thirty will
be dinner. Seven o'clock will be the show. You you you take in these things and you're supporting
assumption in helping one of our local high schools continue to do great work. But you're also
you're doing something you're investing in the future. Not just with your money, but with your time.
We have as entertainers, there's nothing greater you can give us than your time. And it's so
appreciated and so humbling. I cannot stress how humbling it is. And then you think about it as a kid.
I don't believe that I'm in this chair right now without the six grade talent show at Washington
School. Sure. I really don't think I would be. It was my first real chance to be just me on stage.
I was horrible. It didn't go well. But it was a great experience. And I didn't die. Right. Like I
my confidence went to the went went up. And it has ever since. We don't know what kids might do
with their futures. Some will go into the arts. Some won't. But I can guarantee you I can put my name
on it. Whatever they do in their life. Gonna need some confidence with it. Absolutely. Public speaking
goes a long way. You're going to whether it's in front of three people or a thousand people.
They're going to have to do some form of public speaking. These things build that. These things
build that in them. You are investing in our future by going to these shows, by giving of your
time and your money. It may seem like, no, come on. No, it does. I'm evidence of this. I'm proof of
this. And there's thousands of other examples out there too of people that are, hey, that person's
really good at public speaking. Why are they so good at it? Probably because they had some
interactions, whether you're in a play or a talent show or something like that. Yeah. And that's
important thing. And it's fun. It's community. And it's again, it's it's supporting the youth.
And that's a great thing. Be sure to check out the assumption talent show today and tomorrow,
seven o'clock tonight, Saturday, dinner in the show, five, five, 30. Be sure to check that out
over at Assumption High School. You can find out more at Assumption's Facebook page.
Of course, the winter's farmers market is going on this weekend. Be sure to check that out.
Everybody from nine to one over at the Wisconsin's rap some Arabian church. Go check that out.
Enjoy a lot of great vendors, get some food trucks out there. And as always, we encourage you,
if you are a vendor to reach out, they got room over there. They'd love to hear from you.
If you're a vendor and you would like to find out more, go ahead and go to
www.maravian.org. www.maravian.org. There is a tab for you right over there you can get to
and check out all the great things that they're doing and maybe get involved with them. I encourage
you to do that everybody. Oh, and have to mention this Katrina. We're going to get in trouble if we
don't you and I sugar bush. Sugar bush going on this weekend. Yes. Our friends at the historic
point boss have one of their great events going on. Learn about the historic making of maple syrup.
Oh, it's so good. It's really it's so fun because you get to learn they're going to teach you
about how how they collect the maple syrup. I think they did most of collecting already because
the season has been so goofy. Yeah, but they're going to teach and I think that's such a great
thing to teach our youth especially but everybody where okay this syrup in a jar it didn't just
get there how did it get there and it's I mean it's a lot of sap that has to get you know heated
down over time to become that amazing maple syrup. So it's a cool process and there's other fun
things you get to tour the sites and it's just a beautiful spot to be at. You get to do all of that
you'll enjoy yourself you'll have a great Saturday and the whole time whether it is in your
subconscious or in the front of your heart knowing that you're keeping history alive. Yeah.
You're helping the people over the historic point boss keep history alive over there. That's your
history everybody that's your culture. Keeping it alive should be important to everybody. It's
certainly used to the gang over there. It's a great way for us to not only help them do that but
show their are support to them and not for nothing if you can volunteer they're always looking for
good people over there. You always welcome volunteers. Yeah. Find out more. You hang on my dad too.
Yeah. I mean come on. It doesn't get much better than that. Doesn't get much better than that.
We shout out to our friends over at historic point boss. Find out more at historicpointboss.com
and be sure to check out sugar bush going on tomorrow. It's going to be a really fun event
from 10 to 4 over at the historic point boss at 364 Wakely Road in beautiful Nakuza. We'll take a
quick time out. Check out our hang out with our partners for a little bit here when we come back
got more good stuff coming up for you on the morning show at WF HR.
Welcome back everybody morning show here at WF HR locally grown radio.
Katrina James hanging out with you. Thanks so much for joining us everybody. A little
eating brichel to play us in. I feel like like Seth is set you up really well where you're your
program that's going to be happening unlabeled like you could use half the bumpers. That's pretty much
all I'll do. Yeah. It just made my job so easy. Did you really do. Between that and all the requests
we're getting I mean I don't have to pick a playlist at all. It's all set up. It's great. I love it.
Be sure to check out unlabeled this Sunday 8 to 9 right after Seth faces music from 6 to 8 and get
those requests to us everybody. Thank you very much for the easy plug by the way Kat thank you.
We're going to get to a quick story here afterwards. We'll get to our news break and then after
news we're going to be joined by a Port Edwards Village trusty Lawn Radke as we continue our
candidate series as we are speaking with local candidates for local offices. We appreciate Lawn
joining us looking forward to that. That'll wrap up this week of interviews next week. We'll have
more candidates in looking forward to that. That's great. For now frontier airline airlines
added a new seating option that's called up front plus the guarantees the middle seat in your
row will be empty. Oh okay so you essentially are buying out that seat. Yeah that means you won't
have to fight over the armrest and you can be you can you know just kind of spread out a little
bit if you want. You can even pop that extra tray table down if you wanted to put things on
or whatever. You you can't do it in any row. It's only an option that for the first two rows of
the plane hence the up front plus. Oh sure okay. Got it. So how much does it cost? I would think
that is the first kind of thing. Well it's not totally clear but definitely not as much as buying
a whole other seat. Okay. They're doing introductory rates starting at $49 through next Wednesday
for travel between April 10th and April 30th that 49 each that's $49 each way and it's on top of
your normal ticket price. So that's a hundred bucks on top of what you're already paying. Sure.
After that it'll be based on demand. So probably more than 50 bucks but it's on demand. So who
knows if nobody's requesting this it'll probably go way down. Right. The press release describes it
as a great option for those who want expanded personal space and extra comfort. But you know
what's going to happen. They're going to put those those two rows that that's an option for
more expensive. Yep. So really it's almost going to be like your buying out. I'm probably not quite
a whole ticket but it's going to but it's going to but those two rows that has that option
because there's a very limited amount of those it's it's going to those prices will be more
just for those seats. Yeah and I understand I get this. I mean airlines are trying like
to get people up there and fly more and and they're trying to they're trying to do a lot of things
the airlines and I don't begrudge them. I don't know the industry so well that I'm going to pretend
like I can play armchair quarterback and tell them what to do or how they do their job or anything
but I I will say I think this is a fun idea it's interesting it might get some people you know
safety right. Let's let's let's just focus on this point being safe and we'll take everything
else after that but I think that that is everybody's biggest concern right now with our airwaves
with our airlines. The the story that came out about that door falling off of that plane and
finding out that those that didn't look into that that plane wasn't supposed to be in the air
like they wanted to get one more flight out of it they wanted to get their monies worth they
wanted to go more flight out of it and that door goes flying off like and thank God nothing else
happened from that so I think as consumers the one thing we are asking is just make it safe.
Yes. Yeah well worry about the extra seat and all that stuff later can we just go ahead and
focus on that. That will be good. I don't think I mean maybe I'm picky maybe I'm asking too much
but I don't think so. I'd like to get out of plane and not have the door fall off. I feel like
that's just a little thing there at the very least give us all parachutes. Everybody gets a parachute
kind of thing. I don't know that that make me feel that much better though. I don't think that
actually I don't know if I get that point. Because then you'd be worried about how do I use it and
do I use it properly and you'd be you know you'd be overthinking it. Yeah and and what what
happened in your past experience as an airline company that you felt like the need to give everybody
parachutes. Yeah. That's part of that question. Yes. I agree. Although not a bad idea. Not maybe not a
horrible idea. We will go ahead and get to check out our news break right here. We're going to get
to news. When we come back I'll just be speaking with Lon Racky. Prored Edwards Village trusty
candidate. After we're done talking with Lon we'll talk to Lon we give our candidates.
However long they need to answer these questions usually five to ten minutes it takes. So we'll
have Lon on. We'll get him out of here because he's a busy guy and Katrina will come back in and
we'll wrap up the show. We've got fun stuff coming up for you after our news break right here on
AM 1320. 975 FM. We are WFHR. Welcome back everyone to WFHR. Locally grown radio. Have your host James
Jay and right now I am joined by Lon Racky. He is poor Edwards Village trusty candidate. Lon
thank you very much for joining us. Thank you. We've been doing a candidate series here where we're
welcoming on all of our local candidates for the offices coming up with the election and just want
to remind everybody of how we're doing this. We're just interviewing where I'll ask some questions.
Ron Lancerum will move on to the next question. We're doing this to give Lon and many and all the
people like him an opportunity to give his his message and his platform out there for everyone.
Do want to remind everybody that you can find out the information of who's going to be on your
ballot where to vote and register to vote at myvote.wi.gov. That's myvote.wi.gov. Lon thank you again
for the time. Thank you. We're always encouraging people to be a part of public service. We're trying
to get more and more people to be about on boards and running for office like yourself and everything.
So my first question is how have you enjoyed this experience? You know it's quite an experience. I'm
going for my second term but I've really enjoyed it. I've learned more about the community.
Sometimes small town politics can be challenging I would say and of course you know with everything
that goes on with inflation we feel it too. The villages and cities and how we can best use our
money for our people that we work for which is all the residents so the village.
Yeah. Lon what do you see as the trustee's responsibilities? Well some of what we need to do is in
my opinion is just make sure that we stay within our budgets and that we use our money wisely.
You know a lot of the concerns of course are public safety and roads, streets, water.
We have an excellent water utility and we keep monitoring it. I know that other communities
north of us you know had p-fods but we were fortunate that we've monitored and we don't have
those issues. If elected what are your goals as a trustee? Well you know one of my goals is to try
to produce growth in the village. We've had our challenges with the mill going down. We've
been working with a company called DMI that owns that property now and another another investors
and we're just constantly looking to improve that land and it's been a huge huge challenge
but if we can get them on-balled, finished demolition and maybe housing, maybe industry,
anything for our area not just Port Edwards for for our whole area this is you know central
Wisconsin, Marshfield, our whole area depends on industry and I think it's been a big challenge
lately for our communities. We're speaking with Lon Radke Port Edwards Village trustee candidate.
Lon when it comes to involving the community how do you how do you plan to do that involving
the community's feedback with the job of trustee? Well you know we've been doing that we put out surveys
of course and surveys are just you know we try to use them to monitor what people really want,
what they feel that's important but I would encourage a deeply encouraged people if they have the
time I mean meetings sometimes can be kind of dry well just you know you're talking about
we're purchasing this or we're buying that to stay in with budget but I believe that our community,
our village community needs to come to meetings if they possibly can we do have it on YouTube we've
had some issues technically and you know how all that is with computers once in a while you want
it. Can't relate at all. No I've never done with it but if you can come down in person and you know
if you do have concerns you know we have a village newsletter my phone number's in there I mean
you can call me I will talk to you I'll listen to your concerns I'll do what I can but we try to do
again with the way of the money and the budget is we only our hands are tied on some situations
but you know sometimes if you feel that there's an important goal we try to make those goals
come true and financially there's grants you know we can look at that we can look at other
possibilities and we have a generous community I mean there's just so many the legacy grant
just other people I see on Facebook sometimes when people are in need you know they have fun
razors and they meet their goals it's just great I mean I think we got to look at that there's
a lot of positive in this community. What distinguishes you from other candidates?
Well you know I've been in the village now for I've lived there around 35 years so I actually
was an employee of the village and retired they treated me well and my kids grew up in the village
they went to school there they went on to college I'm very proud of both my son and daughter
and I'm proud of my community I know we've had a lot of challenges but I just wanted to see
its drive and move on and that's why I'm running for Village Board. Lawn final question
and we'll let you get back to your day why should voters cast their ballot for you any final
thoughts? Well I'm going to be fair I'm going to be honest sometimes you might not like the answer
but I'm going to tell you the truth and the way it is and I tried to stay within budget I tried to
vote when I do vote on the Village Board and matters I don't try to hold personal what I want I
always sit there and think and go what do the people of the village want it's not about me it's
about all the people that live there young old doesn't matter it's about what they want in their
community and what they feel is important so I would just encourage everybody to get out in
April second and vote. Lawn we really appreciate the time thank you so much I wish you knew
the best with the campaign and thank you again for the time. Well thank you. Ron Lackey
a report Edwards Village trustee candidate again you can find out more about Lawn and all of our

show at WFHR. Welcome back everyone. Morning show here at WFHR locally growing radio.
Oh I just want to dance right now you guys he just muted his mic to go out and I think you should
never do that that was great I just called you out it was good that was so good you shouldn't mute
your mic it was great it was great oh I can't help it it's one of the I think that that maybe the
funkiest sounded music ever him going wow yeah it's yeah I don't think you could ever top that
you I don't think there's anything ever funky or will ever here. It's so good so good
appreciate Katrina being in with us and do you want to send a big thank you to Alon Lackey for
joining us aboard Port Edwards Village trustee we are so fortunate this week to have so many
different candidates join us really appreciate all of that from all of them we have more candidate
interviews coming next week we understand that you may have not been able to listen to all of these
so you can always catch them on our podcast yeah go to civicmedia.us and all of our interviews
are podcasted whether it's the morning show or it's midday magazine but we are also hoping to what
I would like to do we'll see if we're able to pull this off production wise and time one time I
think it's time yeah I'd like to put together an hour or two hours show where it's just interviews
of the candidates back to back to back to back we put these all together we'll see if we are
able to do that or not but I'm hopeful that we can either way you can catch these interviews
right now at civicmedia.us go ahead and go there subscribe our like the page and keep up the
date on things over there we appreciate it yeah Katrina I want to get into a fun one right here
this is this is a country live and this is a country life and did you know you could get married
at a denys this is interesting yeah yeah so let's be honest nothing screams romance like build
your own grand slam breakfast nothing nothing as a full of traumatic I speak to this
a lot of breakfast which is why it's awesome that you could get married at a denys if you want
if all you have to do is fly to Vegas and pay about $199 bucks it seems cheap you know that
seems so bad considering yeah that seems very reasonable considering the average cost of a wedding
in 2023 was 35 grand it seems so bad it really is really is so here are some other romantic fast food
joints you can get married at Wendy's the three most important things at a wedding are the bride
the groom and a baconator you need that you consider Jessica and Abram Thompson of St. George
Utah lucky they they are lucky because they got married at a local Wendy's in 2018 a USA today
article called it frying the not love it so I mean like are they renting out the whole place
or is it like yeah customers come and go through out it's a good question it's an interesting
question so recently some people tried to get married at like a coffee shop in New York
but they didn't talk to the owners about it they just kind of came in and did it and it didn't go
over well the owners said had they talked to them they would have made room for them and everything
but these people just kind of tried to rush in and do it and I don't know you know I'm not going to
I mean I love the idea of people getting married more love romance the world we need more of it
to plan a little bit of these things you know I mean you know a little bit well and have some
consideration for some other people like there's people they're just trying to order their coffee
but they couldn't because of this big group of people it's a small shop they were just trying
to do it for free instead of paying them where like that's probably what it keeps down to yeah
Taco Bell sure champagne toasts are nice but how about saying I do and then getting the
Baja Blast and you know the toasting with that so yeah yeah that so you could do that at the Las Vegas
Cantatina location you could celebrate well up to 25 guests and you get a package of 12 tacos
oh man that is a bonus so all these are in Las Vegas I'm noticing yeah yeah so far okay
this now all of these I don't mind these restaurants but look again I'm a foolish romantic if
I'm gonna get married again I want to do it right not gonna be proper not gonna do this uh fast
food restaurant however uh this last one white castle and white castle is now the noise
institution yes that's kind of one of my places last year a couple had an awesome wedding at a
white castle in Scottsdale Arizona the grooms two nieces were the flower girls and they through
they threw dehydrated onion chips in the low of flowers uh they said technically an onion is a
flower and at white castle main ingredient for sliders is uh onions and stuff so unfortunately
Harold and Kumar did not show up they were not there but everybody else was so yeah that sounds
good what about like I don't recommend this to anybody just because I love our friends at call
vers and I don't want to give them more on their plate to deal with right um but I think locally
callvers you know that's pretty you know Wisconsin Romantic I would think that's Wisconsin Romantic
I think that would work we've got a just a dozen great uh cheese factories oh yeah she make it
cheesy I mean I I would feel like that's that's a bit of a real fun Romantic you're okay is like
cheese curds there's something you throw them out to people and string cheese yeah like the
street cheese whips or whatever they call yeah oh I love it and then you like throw them out to
people and and instead in the bride instead of having a veil she has a cheese head oh right
yeah right and we got this all worked out for it figure out something for a tie could be like
you know she's something oh oh yeah yeah yeah well work on it we'll work on it we'll work on it
flower instead it's a chunk of cheese there you go yeah I like that I like that so we got this
all designed for you I think we found our new business okay I people are gonna be calling up
we're gonna have to create a new name count you got we got this cat and James wedding plan
and a big toll we've got bankrupt uh we've already got back I'm so sorry Katrina I'm so sorry I hope
you have a date you know what if we hear something like that that somebody's like oh I'm gonna
get married at the cheese factory or something you and I are gonna be like we missed we missed an
opportunity here we would get a gun got a gun on this guy's credit uh I really do yes please I do
like the idea of um so maybe if it's your first wedding your young couple it's fun and it's
something different or maybe you know this is your second or third marriage and it's fun you
know when you're older yeah I mean I love traditional weddings I'm a sucker for them I'm a
full-ish romantic die-hard but I also think that love is a personal thing and it should be it's
your wedding you should have it the way you want it I mean taking into consideration your guess
is just polite yeah but I do think at the end of the day hey we want to get married at a taco
all right cool you know if you if your friends and family really love and support you it's not
about them it's about you it's your day so you know show up to the taco johns and get yourself
you know some potato delays and sit back and just eat and watch yeah I think none of us have ever
I have never thought about getting married at a fast food restaurant so this is I open
in for me today I not once not once if I ever thought about it uh I thought uh with St. Patrick's
Day this Sunday and we went over earlier the today dot com trivia I thought we could have
some more fun with the trivia questions and feel free to call up 715 424 2600 and so the question
right you get a t-shirt okay huh I get a free t-shirt yeah maybe some stickers will throw in
there and stuff uh what's the other name uh what other name is St. Patrick's Day known as
what other name is nice St. Patrick's Day known I think you already said this one too so
people are listening to you I I'm not sure I guess now I'm not sure I was caught I actually
marked it but now I'm not sure if I marked it because I said it or I marked it because that's
where I wanted to start well either way if you're listening and you've got the upper hand and if
not call in and let us know what you uh yeah I'll give these about 20 30 seconds and we'll keep
moving but uh yeah go ahead and call up if you'd like to answer what what the other name is
St. Patrick's Day is known as okay no calls the Feast of St. Patrick yeah Feast of St. Patrick
I think you didn't say that probably did but I like it because it was a bring it bring it around
yeah there we have it it's exactly what my plan was a full circle what Irish phrase means
Ireland forever hmm that's a tough one that's a tough one I think I've heard it a lot growing up
but I think it might be a tough one for some and keep this going another five seconds and
Aaron Bogoch Aaron Bogoch oh yes I've heard that one Aaron Bogoch Aaron Bogoch uh what are the
three colors of the Irish flag that's a pretty easy one uh that's a pretty easier one right there
yeah four two four twenty six hundred we're gonna call it play along when yourself a shirt and
some stickers or something uh feel free to call up and join us mm-hmm it is green white Norge
mm-hmm that one's one of the more obvious I think uh flags yeah uh it you know italy uh
same flag just or red just red in there instead of orange man uh let's see here oh what's the
symbol for goal oh no no no we already did that one that one I remember that one good job
what was the Viking name of for Ireland's capital city of Dublin oh wow I don't know how anybody
wouldn't know that one that you really got to know your history on that one you have to be Irish
is what it is mm-hmm yeah yeah uh di Flynn di Flynn which later turned into Duff Lin which would
later of course turn into Dublin okay but the Vikings actually named that that's really interesting
yeah I wouldn't have known that I thought that's pretty interesting cool which breakfast cereal has
the lucky the leprechaun as it's mascot and we'll wrap up with this one it's an easy one come on
everybody seven one five four two four twenty six hundred you want to play along huh happy shy come on
lucky charms you got me lucky charms big fan of lucky charms too that good stuff
the lucky Irish yes which one more just for fun which Irish actor starred in the 1962 Oscar
winning movie Lawrence of Arabia very proud Irishman very one of our more stronger Irish actors
