a good Friday eve out there. Let's kick things off the way we like to. Talking a little
mother nature with our friend Brittany Marlow. Brittany, how you doing this morning? I'm doing
fantastic. How are you guys doing? Pretty good. I'm cold. Beautiful. Yeah, it is cold. I got
to go with you on that one, man. I was built like a scarecrow. I am not built for this
weather. I am really not. I was born and raised in Midwest, but man, I was not built for.
Brittany, I got to see the last couple of days. Got to see the moon out during the day,
during the morning. It's one of my favorite things in the world. We've been seeing that a little
bit more. It feels like recently. Does that have anything to do with the weather? Is that
just kind of it just happens? You know, I am not a specialist in that. As I was asking
the question, I'm like, she, you know, this is not something like I'm just taking a shot
in the dark here. I'm just shot in the board, I guess, I suppose. Any regardless, Brittany,
you do know weather. Well, what do we got in store for us from other nature? Yeah, yeah,
definitely. So you know, you can ask me those questions. I appreciate that. I do love
you know, different meteor showers. I do have info, but just not that one. No, okay.
All right. I could know. Appreciate that. Yeah. Yeah. So do you guys like roller coasters?
And if you do with your favorite part, we're going down that first drop. I have to know.
Boy, I've been on a roller coaster forever, but I think it's the drop. I think, oh, no,
maybe it is the right. It's the, it's the, it's the very top right before. There's like a
little pause and then you go down. I think that's the most exciting. I love the view you get
from the top. Oh, yeah. That's awesome. Yes. Okay. Perfect. So you guys, Sunday is your
day. We're going to be at the very top of that roller coaster. Just view up there. Very
nice. Well done. Yeah. So we are right now just loading onto the roller coaster. Temperatures
start to climb today. We're going to go all the way up to the mid 40s. I mean, it's seven
degrees right now. We're going to be in the 40s today. Crazy.
Yeah. It's said that I were joking that we've got the California weather and they've got
our weather right now. Yeah. It's like weird. But they sure have flipped. Yeah. Thankfully,
you know, there's no such thing as climate change, though. So I mean, at least we figured that
part out of it. Right. There's no way. Oh, no. That's my major. But do keep in mind, though,
today this afternoon, those winds are going to start to whip out of the south 25, 30 miles
an hour. So breezy day, warm day, snow melting away. That means you guys are in high fire danger
risk and for wood, portage counties. So no bonfires, no burning. Please be careful out there.
Don't throw your cigarette butt out the window. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to have to postpone my
Wisconsin burning man celebration. I'm just going to replay on that in the works for decades.
He's still got some day. Someday, I'm going to get it off the ground. It's going to be great.

stuff lined up for you today. Seth and I are going to dive into leap year, leap day and what it
means and all that. We're going to get into a couple of things about that throughout the day,
including not only birthdays for today, which I think will be fun in the Elcafe birthday and
anniversary club, but I want to get into some deals that are going on for today and that.
That's going to be fun. We're going to know all of that. We've also got, we got to talk about this
new wrinkle effect in jeans. I don't know what to do. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. For indignities, leap day babies
must endure. We'll get into that. That made an interesting one. So if you're being born today,
we're you're in for some fun. Let's just put it that way. We've got plenty to go on in the nine
o'clock hour. If we aren't joined by our friends from the humane society, which we usually
have been with our pet of the week, we will of course just pick one. We'll pick one ourselves.
Randomly. And we'll go ahead and promote that. Basically, it's just James looking at pictures
of animals. Yes. And then he gets to pick which one, which is probably his favorite thing
of the whole day. It's one of my favorite segments we've ever got. Yes. James picks animals.
It's going to be the new, the new segment here, whether it is sponsored or not, we're going to be
to just keep doing that. We're looking forward to the nine o'clock hour where we've got some great
entertainment news for you. Want to dive into. We'll touch on some of that. And plenty more.
We got a lot of good things lined up in the nine o'clock hours. I'm getting right stories,
good stories of the day. Plenty more going on. So how are you doing this morning? I'm doing,
I'm doing all right. I had my fourth grader is going on the annual, their annual trip to the
state capital today. Oh, cool. The big fourth grade trip. And he couldn't have been more excited.
So we were kind of joking with him before I left. I said, hey, maybe you can get to see the
governor when you're down there. And he's like, going, wait, huh? You know,
you think about it? I said, hey, he used to be a school teacher. So you know, maybe you'll come
out and say hello. You know, you know, you don't. Yeah. We've had a lot of our representatives do
that take time out of their day just to say hi or take a picture or something like that.
I love seeing that. I never get they never gets old to me. I also really look forward to like
hearing how it went for him because I know for me, one of my favorite field trips I ever went on
was going to the capital six grade. It was a blast. I really love when I spent my, my seventh and
eighth grade, I spent my summers in Madison. And my best friend was down there at the time.
And we actually got kicked out of the capital once because they were doing construction on the
the top. And we were just so curious of like what it might look like up there and all that. And
they in my defense, they had like one little yellow strip like across the hallway or whatever
that we weren't so that was supposed to tell us. Yeah, don't cross the yellow line. Yeah,
yeah, which I think to most people, it would, you know, they would take that. But we did the
caution. It was a really cool tour though. It's a beautiful capital. It is. It is very
cool. And we were Beth and I were there last summer, just it was on a weekend and it was open.
And we just went in and just check it out because I hadn't been there before. And I love the old
capital buildings. I've been to the Minnesota one as well. And they're just so cool. The domes
and everything. It's just really neat. We went to the one in champagne when I was a kid. And
getting to go to the years later, getting to go to the one in Madison was really cool. It's kind
of got me to where whenever I go to a state capital, I want to see the capital. Like now I have to.
I almost, I almost think that'd be kind of a fun thing. Like, you know, you hear usually people
when they retire, they want to travel all 50 states or something to visit all the ball parks or
something like that. I think it'd be kind of cool to visit all the capitals. Right. I think my main
goal, if I, and I'm never going to be able to retire, let's just get that out of the way right.
Get that out of the way. But if I ever take a vacation in my 70s, which that's when I'll finally
take a vacation. Yeah. Okay. I'd like to visit all the national parks. Oh, absolutely. I think
that's a big one. That's a fun one right there. I'm going to give a warning though for state
capital people out there that are doing what you suggested or want to do it. Yeah. North Dakota's
state capital is the most boring thing you've ever seen. It's like a giant black rectangle.
Okay. It looks like an office building. That's all it looks like. There's no dome. There's no
cool architecture. It's the lamest cap. And I was like, it took me, I was there for like five
years. Wait a minute. That's the capital. No, that's happy. The capital. That's weird. That's
the wonder why it's like that. I'm going to end up diving into looking at the rabbit hole.
Look at why it's like that way. So let's go into new year to the leap year here. Okay.
There's been a push to stop the madness of changing our clocks back and forth for daylight
savings time. But we can't stop doing leap years. For those who wonder why we continue to do this
or anything, I think most people understand, well, it has something to do with making our
calendar correct. But how does it do that? Why does it do that? Today is February 20,
20th of February. A day we only get once every four years, mostly. So have you ever wondered
what would happen if we didn't do this? Might be more dramatic than you think. It takes
air 365.24 days to orbit the sun, which is 365 days, five hours, 48 minutes, 56 seconds,
those keeping track, those extra hours create enough time for one new day every four years.
If we didn't add that extra day, the calendar would shift about 25 days every century,
meaning that about 600 years, meaning that after about 600 years. Okay. So Christmas would actually
be in July. Whoa. And in the sense that it would be in the middle of the summer, at least in
the northern hemisphere. Right. We wouldn't have an early winter Christmas again for another 850
years. So basically, leap years are vital to keep the months in sync with the seasons and annual
events, including equinoxes and solstices. Think about how difficult pertinence job is.
Oh gosh. Now think about how difficult it would be without leaping. With the calendar changing
like constantly. Yeah. Oh my gosh. People have recognized the need for leap years for thousands of
years, which we just normalized so much. Yeah. We have normalized all of this so darn much,
because we learned it from a young age when it's knowledge that we have with us for so long.
But if you told me right now in 2024, they were able to figure out the perfect calendar at this
leap day, all that. I'd be like, well, yeah, we've got the science and the math and the technology
nowadays. Yeah, you should have figured that out. That's that's something I would expect of our
our times these days. Not back then. Back then, I'm glad people survived. Like that. I'm glad the
human race made it. Like they've heard about the plagues. Have you heard about the dark ages of
so well. And that's because we forget, you know, back in the ancient days, they knew the
the earth was round because of calculations like this. Yeah. They had to calculate, well,
they could see the sun. They could see it would be different positions as the seasons changed.
So some guys were like, they had to figure out, wait, why does it do that? Let's figure it out.
And that's why they figured out that, you know, oh, yeah, this is how long it takes because we see
repeats. You know, oh, the sun is that spot again. How many days ago was that? Let's find out.
So yeah, it's really remarkable. And I'm with you on that. But we got to remember that people back
then weren't dummies. No, they were smart. They just, you know, didn't have a lot of the tools
that we have. That's all. It's just it's human accomplishment to me. We get it in normalize us.
I understand because we have a lot of them and everything and time keeps moving. But I feel like
when we have the opportunity to take a moment and be like, dang, like, wow, so remarkable. Look at
what we were able to accomplish. Look at the things we were able to do. That's why I shut,
not shutter, but I kind of dismiss the idea of impossible. Or when we hear things that we,
we can't do that. Our human beings aren't smart enough for this or whatever.
They miss me with them. Maybe right now it's improbable. But you never know. Yeah, we don't know
what the future holds. So if you don't know, if you didn't know, the length of a day is also
periodically adjusted by inserting a leap second because of variations in the earth rotation.
But unlike leap days, leap seconds are not added on a regular schedule because those variations
are not as predictable. The last the last time a leap second was added was on December 31st in 2016.
Man, that was a wild second too. That was incredible. I'll never forget that. I don't know.
Crazy leap second. So I feel like we've kind of discussed why we have
leap day in all of that. What about if those celebrating birthdays today? We're going to get
into the LKFA birthday and anniversary club in just a little bit here. Oh yeah, this is going to be
fun. I'm curious to see what we got for today. Yeah, I should be kind of interesting. I did see an
interesting one here if I can find it about how old you would be if you were born on leap day.
If you're born on leap? Yes, yes. So I guess maybe how many birthdays if you celebrated would be
more accurate because obviously you're still getting older every day. Yeah, yeah. But yeah.
But if your birthday is on February 29th, which day do you use to celebrate? That's a good one.
That is a good one. The leap day typically celebrated birthdays on February 28th or March 1st,
but 29th is still used for identification and important documents, of course. But there is
really like as far as looking at the numbers and everything. It's pretty down the line of where
people either celebrated on the 28th or the 1st. That's cool. You get to choose your own birthday.
How kind of cool is that, man? That is kind of cool. So this part is going to involve a little
math, but don't worry. We're going to do the math for you. Oh boy, I'm worried. This year must be
so how old are you technically if you were born on leap day? If you were born on leap day in 1924,
you would be 100 years old or 25 in leap day years. That's right. The year must be evenly divisible
by four. If the year can be evenly divisible by 100, it is not a leap year unless the year is also
evenly divisible by 400. According to math is fun. There was nothing fun. Was there anything fun
about that? I'm wondering to all the fun. Good audio. They're burnishing the trophy a little bit
there, but anyway. So we've done the math for you and by that I mean USA Today. Shout out to them.
Good job. It shows your age in human years and leap day years if you were born on February 29th.
So if you're born in 1904, you'd be 120 years old in human years or in 100 year, 120 years old
in human years or 30. I love it. I love it. I did have a great grandmother, I believe, who was
born on the 29th. And when she turned 80 for whatever it was in the local paper, there was a big
write-up. 80-year-old woman celebrates 21st birthday was the headline, which I thought was,
oh, that's very sweet and very cool. I love it when they do that kind of stuff. I love that stuff.
Yeah. So if you were born in 1956, you'd be 68 years older, 17. Almost old enough to vote.
I love the idea of somebody trying to tell a 68-year-old you're not old enough to vote. You can't
vote yet. Good luck. You'd be 64 if you were born in 1960. You'd be 64 years older, 16, so you
finally able to drive. Congratulations. If you're born in 68, you'd be 56 or years old or 14.
72, 52 years old or 13, 76, 12 and so on and so on it goes. That's pretty interesting.
I love it though. That's kind of cool. Do you like build up, say you're born on the 29th
and then every four years you just have a big blow out because you need, like, oh, you know,
yeah, I celebrated my birthday, but it wasn't actually on my birthday. We got to really
celebrate every four years, man. I would. Now, I also have the person notorious for not getting
along with my birthday and everything, so that doesn't make a lot of sense. I wonder if it would
change, like I wonder, because I think it would. I feel like if you are into those that are out there
celebrating your birthday on today and everything, or your anniversary, I think that'd be a really
interesting one getting married on the 20th day. I bet you there's a lot of people who actually do.
I mean, I want to be interesting to see the statistics like today. How many people are getting
married specifically on leap day? Not only that. Would you do it? I mean, I feel like it would be
easier to remember. Oh, absolutely. And if you forget one year that it's not on a leap day,
like, well, honey, there's not a lot of leap years this year. Yeah, we don't even have the day.
So we can't celebrate. We can't. Look, I'm a romantic. I only want to celebrate
the actual day with where you go with that fly. What are these papers? Why? We'll take a time out.

but I didn't know his name, kind of guy. And I think that that's kind of a common thing for a
lot of character actors, but I will never forget sitting back and watching with my Papa Police
story. And the shaman runaway coming in that the intro. It's one of the greatest intro, like
of any TV show ever was runaway playing and everything. And Dennis Farina just stole the show.
He was so good on that show. Police, I get shorty. He was really good. Oh my god. He's so good.
That is my favorite role of his. Oh my god. We can't play clips from it.
Because I think he swears like every other word, but he is so funny in that. Oh my gosh.
I really, really enjoyed his word. Big, big fan. Very, very big fan of his.

yes. And folks one of those bands that does that to me. I immediately am back at high school.
Yes. Great band. Some of the best harmonies ever. Great voices. Let's continue to talk a little
leap year here. Seth. All right. And leap day only comes once every four years. So it's kind of
fun until you realize you're working for free today. What? What? Huh? If you're on salary,
you're working one day extra this year for the same money. Oh, and that's often still the case
even when the 29th falls on a weekend. Really? Yeah. In normal years, six days of the week happened
52 times and one happens one happens 53 times. But in leap years, two days happen 53 times.
This time we get an extra Monday and Tuesday. Lucky us. But even when it was on a Saturday,
four years ago, the two extra days were Wednesday and Thursday. If you get paid hourly,
none of this matters. It only affects people who are making a set amount per year. But there's
an ongoing debate about whether leap day should be an official paid holiday or if people should get
some kind of bonus. A poll in 2020 found 59% of Americans think you should be paid for that extra
day. But if you want to gripe about it with your boss, do it now. Your argument won't hold much
water the next time around. We get an extra Saturday and Sunday in 2028. Oh, come on. Really?
There's telling me this now, man. I think maybe two, three times in my life have I ever
been on salary and just being honest with the audience. This is one of them. I'm on salary. So
I guess technically I'd be working free today. But it's a Thursday. So I'd be working regardless
if it was February 29th or February 8th or whatever. So I don't know the difference there.
And I am all about employee empowerment. I think I've made that very clear on the air.
Yes. I take the controversial stand of standing with employees.
Shocked. But I paid fair wages. Oh my gosh. Yes. How do you radical?
But even I think that getting a bonus for working on leap day, I feel like that's a bit much.
I could actually you could use logically say that it doesn't matter. It really doesn't,
because if you're on salary, technically you're just getting a paid set amount for like the year.
So it doesn't matter how many days in the year there are. Because I mean, you can work more.
You can work on a Saturday if you have to. You know, you're not going to get paid more for that.
If you work on, you know, quote unquote, time off kind of thing. So it's,
and it's only every four years. I'm not. I don't buy that argument.
The thing about the argument that bothers me or that I think is a crux in it is that it
when you are fighting for things that actually matter. Yeah. When you are fighting for
employee rights or or to have some more a better pay or insurances or any of these things,
those are big things that matter. Yeah. And right now with how big child care is and how much
we're fighting to get child care, even to get it on the on the docket in some cases, let alone
some attention and some bills being done on the on that front. I don't mean to be Jimmy serious
and everything, but it does. It feels like any any argument that is kind of loose or doesn't
really have a lot of standing hurts every other argument that we're trying to get a forward.
Right. So I don't begrudge people. Hey, do your thing.
Go forward. You want. But as far as leap day being an official paid holiday, I feel like we
got bigger things to worry about. Hey, if you want to mess with the calendar, I'm all for that.
Let's let's figure out there's a there's a can be I can't remember his name. There's a comedian
that's got a whole bit about changing the calendar to make more sense. And it's it's very funny,
but it's also it's like, wow, I think he's on to something here because he has the solstice
like every month is 28 days. And then there's like an extra one week in the middle somewhere where
it sounds like a pretty good idea, you know? I think all my favorite comedy bits are like that
are like smart funny. Smart. Exactly. They have like a little truth in there with the funny. Yeah.
The Chris Rock is very good at that George Carlin, I think, was the master of it. There's a lot of
good ones out there. Seth, you brought up an interesting point about how often people might get
married on this day or if people are thinking about even getting married on this day and that.
And I just thought during our break, I throw it into our search engine and like 15 articles popped
out. Wow. There's a lot of them. So I just went to courtly.com because it seemed like an
interesting one of why get married on leap day. Oh, leap day has been tied to romance throughout
through an old tradition where women are encouraged to propose to men on leap day.
Breaking the conventional custom of men typically being the ones to propose. This tradition is
believed to have originated in Ireland. And it has historical and cultural significance. In
modern times, many people think leap day proposals are outdated as custom. Couples are now seeing
leap day as a unique opportunity for their wedding. And there's a couple of like rare and also
kind of things you'll probably might see on social media today of people celebrating their
anniversary. Right. Right. But I thought that was kind of fascinating. That's actually really
interesting. Yeah. Like if you look and do a little bit of that history over in Ireland,
this has been going on for like hundreds and hundreds of years over there where it's just just
kind of isn't there a school dance, Sadie Hawkins dance or something like that? Sadie Hawkins dance
where it was. Yeah. The tradition was that was when the girls asked the boys. Yeah. Right. So
I knew I'd heard something like that before. I never experienced that. But we still actually when
I was in high school, my school still did that. Even though it was outdated by even by that point.
Because you know, when you remember, you know, you went like as a group or it didn't matter if
someone liked it for girl like the guy said, hey, come with me. Let's do the dance together.
Whatever, you know, that kind of thing. You waited and waited for it to call you on the phone.
And when she didn't, then you realized when you finally called her and she's like, I'm not going
and yeah, I mean, either. I didn't really want to go either. Yeah. It's the right. So bye.
You know, forget about getting, you know, paid an extra day. I want to get paid as a therapist
for James from around the air together. Well done. Well done. There's a lot of unique
celebrations involved with leap day weddings. They allow couples to celebrate the 11 away,
distinguishes their marriage from others. It's a true part of the reason a lot of people end up doing
and the the idea of being able to kind of have some fun with the holiday as well. Yeah,
exactly. It's going to be interesting. So that may that leads me to another question.
Is it a holiday or is it just a is it just a day? I because of its rarity. Is it considered?
I know it's not ordinary, but is it considered like a holiday? I guess I don't know.
Not an official one, obviously, but do people treat it like a holiday? You know, that pops up
pretty quick on the search engine. Is leap day a lucky day? Is it a thing? Is it a thing? Is it a
thing? Is it a thing? That's great. I love that is a thing. Oh, well, you know, I got to look
at what I think what pops up with the leap day is definitely a thing. That's great. That is
awesome. But is it a holiday? Is it a holiday? The strangest non holiday of the years upon us,
leap day is a wrinkle in time that goes unmentioned on many wall and desk counters.
Those born on the day may face problems of it, but I'm not seeing anything that says it's
an actual holiday. I love that wrinkle in time. I love that description of it, though. That
was great. What about deals today? Let's wrap up the segment talking about deals.
If you don't know how to celebrate leap day, other than be moaning that's another 0.25
days older, some places are offering special deals to get you to stop by and have some fun
with the day. Chipotle is offering free guacamole because well, why not? It's totally free.
Like a lot of those deals, you need to be a member of their loyalty program. You need to order
through the app. Blah, blah, blah. By that point, I don't even want it. Too much work. I'm done.
I'm done with the apps and all that. Unless you're like a regular person that already has and uses
the app, I mean, is it worth your right? Is it worth it to like download and then have to do your
login, create an account and then just for some free guacamole. Yeah. No. I'll pass.
And I know so many people that will download this app and then delete it after they get the
free thing and stuff. And I don't begrudge that. I don't begrudge it like apps. I just, I feel like
apps are one of those things. If you want it, you've already got it on your phone, you know?
So encouraging people to download apps for like us with civic, the civic media app. That's
something that I think people can use every day. If you're a consistent listener or you'd like
to be or something, you'd call in a lot, those kind of things. I think it has its uses.
But if you don't barely listen to us, I'm not going to push you to download it or anything.
I feel like it's kind of one of those things where, hey, if you want it, you know it and you
probably already got it. Exactly. I think your point is really good, though. And that's where I like
to go with this article. Hey, see, you already have the Chipotle app downloaded. Well, then you're just
a pop or two away from getting free. You know, some free go for it. That sounds good. Taco Bell is

It's not just wings. I didn't know they even did that. Wow. Let's see here. Hooters is giving away
something like their store. They're dignity. Can we just say goodbye to this, please?
I'm darn near borderline shocked that there are still hooters around. Right. Just being blunt about it,
if you want to gawk at women, there's the internet nowadays. And I don't think you should be
by any means. I don't think you should be. But your point is, well, take it. I mean, please,
call up. Let me know. Do you really like the food there? If you are somebody that has
gone there on a consistent basis, because anybody that I know, and I only know like one or two
people that have, but when I asked them, like, Hey, how are the wings average? I've never heard
somebody say, Oh, my God, you got to try this. Yeah. You got to try this at Hooters or whatever.
That was the big thing. I mean, that's what I out. That's what I always heard. I've never
been to one. Okay. And I always heard that, Oh, yeah, their wings are great. And then,
but I've heard other people say, No, they're not that great. Well, go to $7.11. You can find
out if those are any better, you know, man, then you have to worry about the exploitation, you know.
Krispy Kreme has a promotion where you can get an original glazed donut for $2.29. Everybody's
doing the $2.29. But, um, they, uh, Krispy Kreme is showing some love to lead babies who are

me a text just a little bit ago. A former station employee and his wife, Mike and Sarah had twin
girls born on leap day in 1984. Uh-huh. Oh, how about that? Twin girls on leap day in that. Wow.
That's cool. That's pretty cool. Thanks for letting us know. Yeah. I did not know that one. Um,
this is that ain't right story. I'm just going to tell you right now. Okay. One in five people
consider themselves to be unlucky according to a new poll and it's not for no reason. The average
person will experience 543 unlucky events this year. That's more than the days we have. How is
that possible? Wow. Uh, that's just over 10 a week. But one in 10 think leap years are luckier
than normal years. Of course. So maybe 11 few less than in this year. People were asked to name
the the unluckiest things that can happen to you in any given day and we got the top 10. Oh,
okay. I wasn't sure where this was going, but okay. That's fascinating. So I think that this has
two sides to it. There's the then a right part we can make fun of and we could certainly put our
own notes in. Of course. I also think there's a side of it of, hey, if you get through the end of
this list and to the end of your day, any day, whether it's today or any day, and maybe you've only
had one or two of these things happen or none of them happen. Like, that's not a bad day. No,
not about it. It isn't. Uh, we don't take the, the small wins enough. And, and I think when you,
when you're trying, when you're running late and you get all green lights, you know, you need to
take that victory. You need to take that win. We, we, we build off of those, whether we realize
it or not, we should take the little wins as much as we can. I agree. Wait, but before we get into
this, I, who's keeping track? Yes. I'm throwing how much bad luck. Thank you. It's seriously, is that
what you want to do? You want to see? Oh, this is, let's say another mark on my bad luck list.
They're like, why? Why? I can't think of many other things. I want to keep track of less. I know.
That's I sort of move on. Let's just move on. I love the idea of there's, this is somebody's job,
though. Like, like, they work for the government. There's, there's keeping track of bad luck. They
just, just calling random people, hey, have you been unlucky today? Doing the survey. I love it.
It feels like a really, really bad game. It feels like a real tough job. Just really horrible.
So here are the top 10 of unluckiest things that can happen according to this poll.
Losing something is number one. So that, that certainly can be considered a, yeah, unlucky, I guess,
or maybe just not paying attention sometimes too. We get busy and all that. Yeah. Or you forget,
you know, where you put something down and that's common. You know, people do that all the time.
It's not, I don't know, unlucky. I don't feel like that's unlucky. Unless it like falls in some
weird place that, you know, you get to that's unlucky. You drop something and it goes into a great
or something like that. I've been chewing these darn tooth picks. All right. I've been using these
things for a little while now. And I'm in the car the other day. And I've got, I'm frozen and
I've got my gloves on and all that. And I'm having a hard time fiddling with the darn tooth pick.
And it drops. And it doesn't just drop on my lap or in the cup holder or something like that,
really easy, where I can get it. It drops right into the shaft into the, you know, the my four-wheel drive.
The shifter. Oh my gosh. It's just jimmyed in there kind of funny to where I can't get it. And I,
thankfully, I have the brain powered and not try to, you know, look for a wall. I'm driving.
While you're driving. But in the time that it takes me from where I am to get to, to my spot,
it's got about a 20-minute drive or whatever. And it's driving me crazy. And it's just like,
that's, that always happens to me. If I drop something, it always seems to fall. It's weird spot,
right? Every time. I think number one on my list would be number two on this list. And I'd say
that with all pun intended, stepping in dog poo. Number two on the list number two. Yeah. Yeah,
you know, it's happened. It's happened to everybody. We've all done it. Yes. Don't deny it,
everybody. And it sucks. It's one of the worst things. There are some people that consider it
good luck. But I don't. Or when a bird poops out here, something like that. I know how that's
a good spin on just about the worst thing you can put it on. I think that's ultimate spin right
there. That's what's happening. Yeah. Let's go ahead and see what's on your mind. Good morning.
Good morning. I just had a story to tell you about dropping things. A key. We're on vacation.
We ran a time share and my wife and I were going to go in the elevator to go up to our room.
And as we're walking to the end of the elevator, I pull out my key for the room. And I drop it
and guess where it goes? No. Right down the opening. I can see it. I can see it happening.
Oh, that's awful. What'd you do? Well, I just went to the management and they said, well,
they gave me another key and they will take care of it. That feels like when things like that
happen in life, doesn't it feel like time slows down? It's just it's slow enough, not slow enough
to where you can catch it, but slow enough where the card is almost like, I'm sorry, but like it's
just kind of like flicking you off almost. It's just going to rise and goes down. I would have
tried to throw it down there. I it wouldn't go. Yeah, exactly. It's just the thing. No, that is
so true. That's so true. Oh, man. Thank you for the call, sir. That was a good one. Thank you.

thing. I mean, at the time it was awful, but it's a good story. But that is one of those so
universal things whether it is whatever it might be something like that happening. And he's so
right. If you tried, if you gave him a hundred tries, couldn't make it happen, but just the the
whim of things, of course. You know what? I have to do this now. I have to I have to do a plug for
the glass. Managerie. There is a scene in the show where this exact thing happens to Tom. So you
got to you got to come out tomorrow. You got to mount and see it because you got to find out when
he he drops the key and then he says something like one crack and it falls through. That's so
good. That's exactly what we're talking about. It's a very well written line scene to the whole scene
really. We will talk more about the glass. Managerie and how you can get tickets in just a little bit
be listening for that spitting on yourself. Yes. Yes. I will only add on that spitting on yourself
and somebody else sees you do it. Like that's the worst. That's it's one thing to do it. But then
you look around like nobody saw you do it. It's like slipping on ice. You slip on ice and you
catch yourself and you look around and see if anybody saw you do it or anything. That's a big one.
This one happened to just like a touch off of that. Happened to my cousin. Spitting out the
window and not realizing the windows closed. I've seen that one. I've seen that one. I've seen
that what happened and the guy bumped his nose too. I just add insult to injury. He really
fell just like that. Just a fool right in the face. A flat tire. Yes. That's like one of the
most major annoyances of all time. You're going somewhere. You need to be there or you're going home.
I'm going home and now your tire is flat. It's like no. I maintain that a flat tire will only
happen when you are running late or when you are in a hurry or something like that. That's the only
time that ever happens. I will also add to this and I take this opportunity. Any chance I get.
I think there are a handful of things that every human being should know how to do. Every human
being. I think the Heimlip and over is one of those things and changing a tire. I really
I feel like that's one of those things everybody should know how to do.
I'm sure there's some people around here who've had to deal with this. Have you ever tried
to change a tire on a dirt road? Yes. That's the worst. The first time I had to do this,
my dad and I had happy. I never forget his old 81-80 Monte Carlo or something he had. It's
on the Dan Ryan. It's on one of the busiest streets in America. Just incredible. We're on the side
and we're doing this and everything and people are honking at us and I thought they were honking
at us making fun of us. But my dad was saying, oh, they're encouraging us and everything. They're
being encouraging. I don't have no idea. It's being a spin. Who knows? That was nuts.
I think that that's one of those things. Reading a map. I think that people should know how to do that.
I still can't under like we did we perfect fixing a tire or we just forgotten to like upgrade that
because it's my marvel at like we upgrade and we we tinker with things all the time. The five-minute
meal in the microwave. That was a fast enough. We got to make it a minute. We seem to tinker and
improve on all these different things. Fixing a flat tire, doing it the same way we did since like
cars were invented basically. You need a jack and you need to yeah. That's a great question.
I don't know if there's much you can do though. That's the same. Maybe there is no
improvement. There's not much work you can do. It's just time that interesting where we tinker
with so much like name something that hasn't been tinkered with an invention or or something we
do. And yet that's one thing that just stayed the same. A car drives by and splashes you with water.
Yeah, that's that's unlucky. Losing a competition or a contest. Like yeah, I guess or that's just
skill unless it's like like a raffle or something. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I I can attest to
that. I have the worst luck on drawings. I think I've never won one. So yeah. There's a reason
you will never catch me gambling. Yeah, me too. Ever. Ever. I gamble in life enough. Like I don't
need to. I don't tripping or falling down in public. We kind of discuss that. We just have that a
little bit. Yeah, especially with the ice thing. Oh yeah, they almost fall. You try to order
something of a restaurant, but they're out of it. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that doesn't happen a lot,
but you know, it happens occasionally. I specifically went to point to go to Cold Stone to get
bubble gum ice cream. I've been wanting it for a long time. I had it on my mind. I go there because
they say they have it. I get there. I order it. We don't have that. We haven't had it in years.
Wait. Your website said. Shout out to Cold Stone, though. Great people there. Great food. Yeah.
A great ice cream. They just they just need to bring back the bubble gum ice cream. Yeah.
And getting caught in the rain would no one braille. Yeah. Yeah. That's not too bad. I guess
it depends. I know, but I mean, to be honest, you know, I think we've all been caught in a spot,
you know, where we're in a like a real rainstorm. I'm talking like a deluge, you know, you have
and you know, but that's one of those things that you laugh about later. And you remember it.
It's like, Hey, remember that time we got stuck at that? It was we were drenched, you know,
that kind of thing. That one is kind of mild compared to some of these other ones, I think.
I do remember, again, going back to Madison, my friend Craig and I, it's late at night,
like in him and I are going to I think Burger King or something like that. And Craig was,
we it was rain pouring rain. We got out and then also like got far enough to where it's too far
to go back. So it's pouring rain. We go under a viadoc to kind of dry off. And Craig had on like,
like light colored jeans and all this stuff. And he's making fun of me because I went all the way
up to the middle right at the viadoc and the cross. Yeah. Right. And I'm just because that's the
dry spot. And I wanted to be away from the road. Yep. And he's just laughing at me like, you know,
you a sick cat. What do you do with all that? And no sooner does he start laughing at me that a
semi flies by and like it was a movie scene just completely douses him. Like it like it was the
only person in the room or something just completely did all like a whole entire typhoon on him.
It's hilarious. And then I love so we got two of them in there. You got splashed with water and
you got caught in the rain. Yes. That's it. Very unlucky. Or is that instant karma? Yeah. See,
that's the other part of this tooth that I'm glad you brought up because I there's not a ton of things
that I put my name on. I genuinely believe in karma. I've seen enough in life to where I think that
you put good into the world. Good things happen. You walk around with your fists clenched.
You're going to get in the fight. It's going to get you. It will. We're going to come back and get
you with some good stuff. We got a lot of great things coming up at the 9 o'clock hour stick
