What 26? Yeah, that seems wow. Wow, when did that happen? I could jump double. Yeah

Wow

Megan the stallion is 29 great rapper. Yes, great, great lyricist

Corrine Fox is 30. That's Jamie Foxx's daughter. She DJs with him on that beach this am show. Oh, wait wait

She's how does 30? Yeah. Yeah, how can he be old? Is he getting up there? Is it? Yeah, I guess so that that threw me for a second

But you know, I got a 27 year old man. Yeah, I'm just thinking about it like holy cow. Yeah, but you're not that far off

Oh, that's rough. Oh, I didn't expect to feel that old from just looking at JB Fox's daughter. Yeah

Wow, let's see Brandon Boyd is 48 lead singer and lyricist for incubus. Oh, okay great band great band long

They've been around for a long time now. I realize it man. He

It's a little frustrating that has always been a very handsome man. Somehow he looks better as he's gotten older

I would that's so lucky. Yeah, another guy who kind of has done that and Yammy or Yager is 52

Wow, Yammy or Yager, I

Not just like we joke about this sometimes with like Bertolt Cologne or somewhere. Yeah, I mean Yager is literally still playing hockey

Like he's somewhere in a Russian hockey league, I believe still playing hockey. I love guys that do that. Yeah

Those are my favorite Gordy how the last story that I saw reported before his passing

He was off playing hockey without a helmet in like some junior hockey league or some it was he was 88 or something like that

Yeah, it's not even exaggerated. Yeah, Alex Boerstein is 53

Famously known. I think it's Lewis Griffin on family guy

She was also a wonderful on a mad TV for a long time. That's where a lot of us saw her first. That's right

She's also gotten a lot of critical claim as midges manager Susie on the marvelous Miss Maisel. Yes

She's very good in that and one of the best voices and entertainment. I love her voice. I love her voice

She's got one of the most classic voices

TV voices you and this goes back to all in the family

Those kind of like that kind of voice. It's a little similar to that just a little bit friendly around the years

I think it is not quite so hard. I really like her voice. She's got a really good

I'd like to see her and Kristen Shaw do like a scene together just with those two voices doing back and forth

Christopher McDonald is 69 shooter McGavin and happy Gilmore and many other great character roles

Oh, he has been in he's a he's one of those character actors that always pops up

He'll see him most recently. I he plays the coach on mystery glacius and that's that's very good

Oh, I didn't know he was doing that. Yeah, he plays the coach there and he does a fabulous job of like an old-school

Coach, you know, yeah, it's like this kind of a dopey really not that bright, but you know, although yeah

Get us up. He's so good. He's at all kinds of characters. He is so good at that. That is pretty cool

That is pretty cool. I didn't I know that I like that

So also celebrate in the birthday today the great the wonderful one of the greatest creators of all time

Generally one of the greater I think just you know humans ever

Matt graining is 70 today Matt graining. Yeah, okay, so I might be overstrapping it a little bit

He's the creator of the Simpsons. Yes, Arama

You know, it's just one of my favorite the great the great comic strip life in hell. Yes, which is where he got to start as a cartoonist

So yeah

I will ramble this story any chama get Matt graining does has life in hell this comic strip that is really popular

They are looking for a a cartoon or something to interlude on the Tracy almond show because it's a live sketch show

They need time to change costumes commercial breaks won't always give them that so what are we gonna do?

We'll go to local comic strip artists and we'll have them draw something up Matt graining comes in as one of these artists

He's only got one idea. This is the biggest break of his life and the only idea he has his life in hell and he's sitting there

And he's thinking about something that he was told once where never going to a business meeting with one idea

You go in there with at least a couple ideas and you give him these bad ideas and you end on the good one

So he goes in and literally like 30 seconds before he's in there. He's like

Okay, well my dad's name. I'll do some based on my family my dad's name is Homer my mom's name is Marge

I've got a little cistern the cistern is Lisa and Maggie

I don't like the name Matt so I'll just do Bart and I'll start out with that

But then I'll finish with life in hell and boom. I got life in hell. I'm Tracy almond show I'm at graining

I'm you know, I'm moving up on the charts

They love the Simpsons idea. Yeah, they fall in love with it and life in hell never even see the light of them

No, no, 35 years 36 seasons later

Longest running show of all time. Yeah, I'm probably never gonna be beaten never. It's a Cal Ripkin of TV

Yeah, it's the Cal Ripkin of TV. It'll never be beaten. No

Matt Gray also great great a great interview, too. Yeah. Yeah, he's very fun. The great Jane Seymour is 73 today

Dr. Queen medicine woman. Yeah, yeah, she's good. She was good. She's very good actor

That's a good one right? She played a bond girl in the man with the golden gun. That's right

They always they live in that die one of those two. She was a bond girl very good. I think it was the man with the golden gun

Okay, I think that's one of us

I bought my bond card some people no longer with us like the great the wonderful Harvey Korman

Born in the stay in 27 past away in 2008 blazing saddles the cariboure net show the voice to the great gazo

The food stoats. I mean

What a career Mel Brooks stalwart in so many of his movies. Yeah

The great Caesar Romero born in this day in 1907 passed away in 94

Many people know him. He was my first Joker

Yeah, that's right. Joker like he was that's the way I remember Caesar Merrill with that cake Don makeup

And the man who in his contract would not have shave his must not shave his must have they had to cake the makeup on

You can still see it. You can still see it. Yeah, good must. But it was it was fine. No one really cared

And one I'm gonna try to do this. I thought I had this setup. Okay. All right, but

Today we are celebrating Madison's own Chris Farley would have been 60 today Chris Farley would have been 60 today

I want to see if this will play. Okay

Nothing like a fire and a noble romantic mission to warm the cockles of your heart. Yeah

I like my cockles room temperature. Thank you very much

Hey, if you're not doing this for cockle warm and why are you doing it? Yeah

Simple fart what gets his princess. I get what I want

That is Chris Farley is Shrek. Wow

There is a Chris Farley was cast as Shrek before Mike Myers and

He actually even him and Eddie Murphy got to do a little bit of work together

They were in the room together recording that and that this is some early early days of

Audio or voice acting where they have the actors in the room now Bob's burgers and some other

Separate yeah kind of do that all all together where they're all in the room together doing these things

Right, they do that they're the the exception these days. Yeah, like the Simpsons as much as I love that show

I think that they kind of missed the mark on this where Dan Dan Kessinella is in LA Hank is air is in Seattle

And they're all recording these things and piecing it together

So the original Shrek the original and I think the movie the way they did it with Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy

And in the room together a lot of the times too and Cameron D isn't all that

Chris Farley was one of the gonna be one of the first voice actors to really do something like that

Wow, and as great as Mike Myers is as great as he is as an actor writer creator director all that

There's no way that he that he would have been as good the Chris Farley would have

He would he would have been a good as Farley like Farley was born for that role

That what Mike Myers did was great, but it's basically you know one of his characters from the Austin Powers movies

Yeah, exactly and that's none wrong with that it worked. They get made like five movies on

Yeah, right anybody loves those movies

But if Chris Farley's in that role, it's different man. It's it's you think Craig is big now. Yeah, you

Not even close to how gigantic Shrek would have been just hearing that just hearing that little bit there

I'd be fascinated now just just just to see the alternate universe where Chris Farley makes that movie

I'm really spoiled. It's a second city because we've got archives and we have all these like hours and

hours and hours and hours of footage has never been seen by anybody and sometimes they release some of it

You can find online a great bit of Chris Farley and Tim Meadows as of baseball fans and it's hilarious

It's so good and it's early it Chris looks so young and it Tim Meadows looks so young

But you already see the buildings of what Chris Farley is going to turn his career into

He wanted so bad to be blue she

And and it's just it's it's such a shame and I this day to me

Are while it ring it hurts and it's tough even all these years later

I try to think of the work that he did and how popular he still is I got at least

70 to 80 different students in 11 years that I've been doing teaching

That have come in and want to be the next Chris Farley. That's amazing. I can't even like

I'm it's too low of a number. I should have went even higher because there's so many of these kids that are influenced by Chris Farley and his work

He's been and he's been gone for so long. That's amazing and we wrap up with people no longer with us with one of the great Susan B. Anthony

Born in the state 1820 Pestui in 1906 women's rights pioneer. Yes, he was

There there is so much we could say about Susan B. Anthony to talk about her for days

Incredible human being if you don't know much about Susan B. Anthony encourage you to read up about her find out more

One more time wishing happy anniversary

49th anniversary to Chuck and Kathy set of eight happy anniversary happy 66th anniversary to Wilbur to Laura South happy anniversary for you enjoy you too

And a very happy birthday to our qualifier our good friend Diane Blanchard

Diane happy birthday congratulations and once again, thank you so much. Thank you. Diane you're awesome

encourage everybody to celebrate with our good friends over at L. Cafe there are 221 market avenue in beautiful port edwards

Get on over there wish him a great day from all of us at WFHR

You

Welcome back everyone morning show here at WFHR locally grown radio

Seth and James hanging out with you. Thanks so much for joining us on this Friday Eve

Hope you're having a good one out there and stay in safe got a little bit of that winter mother nature

overnight. Yes, I actually didn't think we were gonna get much of anything anything was gonna stick

At least until about midnight. It didn't seem like it was and then I blink and we

It actually looks like winter outside of all but of course not enough snow for us to like really do much

I don't think it's gonna last either. No, no, it doesn't go away pretty quick enjoy why you can throw some snowballs if you go

Now that Valentine's Day is over and all the my Valentine's social media posts are slipping off our feed

Let's be honest. Have you ever had two Valentine's at once a new poll asked people if they've ever seen

Been in love with more than one person at the same time. I I personally think that's impossible

I don't I think that a human beings have plenty of love to give

And I think that there are plenty of gray areas in life

But I think that while you may think you're in love with two people one of them is in factuation

And one of them is actual you know genuine what we define as love or what love is defined into your heart

Right, I think that there's a real cross there. I don't think anybody can necessarily just date like 20 people

And be fine with it. Right like like like like long term. Let's we're not talking about just you know going out of the date or two

Yeah, we're talking like long term relationship. I'm talking like secret family stuff

Yeah, yeah, I'm talking like yeah, I got this family. Why'd you get mail for the henderson's no reason no reason

um

27% of people said that they have 64% haven't and 9% conveniently don't recall

Wait a minute. Yeah, yeah, come on. Yeah, sure. You don't recall

Remember the majority overwhelming majority of people answer that they did this when they were quite young

Another poll asked how many people you've been in love with in your lifetime. Oh, that's an interesting one

That's oh yeah, and I'm uh and they're they're looks like they're talking relationships here

Not just to you know loving a pet or for our you know friend. Yeah, I'm like that

The most common answer was two 24% of people said that 19% said three and 17% said one. Oh wow. I like that. That's interesting

Yeah, I not very high numbers either. No, those are pretty low and I guess that makes sense, you know because it's

To find that, you know, the person that that person you're compatible with that's willing to you know

I'll love you back kind of thing. Yeah, that that's rare. You know, that's not you don't find that very often

Um, so you

Uh, and then and then I mean and then after that you have to start working on the relationship

So, you know, yeah, you both love each other, but now the work begins

You know, you got to make sure if you want to keep this relationship, you got to work at it

So 10% of people admitted that they've been in love more than five times, which was the max and four percent claim that they've never been in love

Uh, I can see that. Yeah, that's true

Here are two other bits of post valentine news

Not surprisingly, major retailers are saying that they that the majority of valentine day sales happen on valentines day

And or the day before the headline is about people waiting until the last minute

But the fresher item for the but for fresher items like flowers and sweets

You probably don't want to get them too early, right? So that is part of that

Huh, interesting. Yeah, uh, I also think that uh, if you

If you are smart and you have a sweet tooth today is the day to be out there get that

Sales sales maybe the day after sales 80% off candy hearts. Yeah, you know, it's all going on today

That is a good day to pick that up. It is it's it's every after holiday is the best day for candy shop

November 1st and February 15th. Yeah, great days if you are a candy lover, you go sweet like I do

Another survey asked people how they feel about their valentine day spending and after the fact

Most people about 64% said that they didn't get carried away in state on budget

13% said that they overspent, but it was worth it

11% said that they wish that they had spent or done more and six percent said it was more trouble than it was worth

Interesting

I kind of an understanding list. Yeah, I kind of kind of yeah, I kind of get all of that

Got all of it kind of made sense to me

Um, let's go ahead and take a quick time out if my

I don't know. My computer is working here. Come on. Yeah

Let's take a quick time out. We'll come back

And we're going to talk about these kids who got a scholarship to a sport

I'll give you a billion guesses and I don't think you're going to get it everybody. I'm worried. Yeah. I'm worried

Morning show at WFHR

Welcome back everyone morning show at WFHR

I

Seth and James here with you little smooth voiced van Morrison to play us in

moon dance

Great song

I'm not sure I think it might be my favorite van Morrison song might be

It's a hard one to pick. I'm not sure. Domino is probably one out there for me. I really like that one

Gloria. Yeah, it's a great job. Yeah, Gloria. It's a couple of great versions of that song. That's a good one

This almost makes you want to go back to school

Two kids from Colorado were just awarded the first ever athletic scholarships to play division one

Cornhole

Yep, it's happened everybody. We've gotten there

Their names are of course Jackson with an ex

Remnick and Gavin Hammond

They went and I'm only teasing. It's just their young kid. Yeah, there's a stretch there where every every young boy was named Jackson with an ex

Yeah, yes, they went to Thunder Ridge High School near Denver

Which has a strong cornhole program

They're obviously cornhole prodigies

They won the first ever high school championship together in 2021 and then another one a year later

I national signing day last week because yes, that's a thing for even for cornhole folks

They sign letters of intent to play d1 cornhole for winthorpe university in South Carolina

The school hasn't said much

How much the scholarships is for but it's not not a full ride their new coach at winthorpe

Things full ride scholarships for cornhole could happen eventually though. Yeah, it depends now

Now national signing day for like college football players

It's very popular now for those that don't know about this stuff and god bless you if you don't you spend your band with a

Signing day like I do what your mothers do

They'll have a bunch of hats out you see a lay Wisconsin, you know, Texas that kind of thing and then they picked the hat of the

School they're gonna go to with cornhole with this they actually have to throw the hat into a hole

Like and if they miss they don't get to go to that. Yeah, they don't get the shot to make the shot. It's really intense

Okay, I get yes, I have seen competitive cornhole. Yeah, on ESPN same. So this is not a stretch

This is not as I mean for some people out there who don't watch and they're probably like are you kidding me?

Are you kidding me and you're right

Yeah, that's the same time

It's not a surprise because this is what's happening man

Yeah, this is what is happening. This is the direction. It is all it is all I

How long are we away or how far are we away from cornhole the Olympic sport?

I hope we're a ways away

I'll tell you we're barely holding on to baseball in the Olympics. Yeah, we better not pass baseball

We're already losing out on basketball. Yeah, we need to start adding more sports in America's can be great at

You as hey you oh, that's just said

But I know a little bit of serious this on this. I think this is awesome

You you had me at scholarships for kids like I don't care what it's for yeah get more kids in college

We understand I would okay. I hope that most people understand out there

Yeah, how expensive it is to go to school nowadays and how every single kid outside of you know some coming from a little bit better off life or something if financially

Has to debate do I go to school or do I and be in debt or do I try to find a job

And just start making a living right now right like that's not the American dream

Like that's not that's not what we were taught and that's not what we're told is the American dream

If you want things like this like to believe in the American dream to to the white pick offense the 2.5 kids all that stuff

Give kids the ability to actually be able to reach that right now

It doesn't take you don't have to be war and buff it to understand how hard it is to be able to make a living on minimum wage

Let alone to try to have a

Even live on your own let alone a car

Insurance trying to have a any any type of social life to be able to date to end up getting married and have that 2.5 kids in that way pick offense

Like this whole thing has got jumbled up and messed up

And the only people that don't get it are people that have never had to deal with it right right

That's you know what you're saying is it isn't that self-improvement?

Isn't that kind of what this country if that's for many years? It's like yeah

Go to college improve yourself make your prospects better help the country help your community

Well at the same time while you're doing all these things and now it's just

I don't know. Yeah, it's very confusing now. I don't know

There's no I mean if my I'm fortunate my kids are older than this

But if my kids are 17 18 and they're asking me well, what do you think I should do go to school get a job

Well, you know, I they got this great job offer or should they go to school and better their minds and they're feeling to have a better future

It's a tough one to answer. It's very tough these days. Why I tell my kids stand up comedy no

I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm joking podcasting. Oh wait

Wait, there's a little close to home

Take a time out. We'll be back tomorrow morning show at WF HR

Welcome back everybody morning show here at WF HR

Seth and James hanging out with you happy Thursday

I

I'm happier to hear the spinners. Yeah, me too second or third favorite love song of all time. Oh, this is number two or number three

Nice. It's a classic. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, you're all I need to get by Marvin Gaye Tammy Tarell

That's a classic of all time. Yeah, that's a classic. Like no without a question. Yeah, you know, I know I know your answer to this is

Spinner's of your favorite 70s R&B group. Um, they're they're right up there

But it's between them and the OJs. I can never decide which one I like better

Good one. Uh, all good stuff though. I know a lot of people temptations for tops. Yeah, the most sound ones. Yeah, so good

None against them. No, no, just big spinners guys

Yeah, that's true. We are a state law

A state lawmaker in New Hampshire is promoting a bill that would give the state an official pronunciation for the name of its capital city

Concord

Or is it Concord or is it Concord Concord? Yeah, yeah

state rep Eric Gallagher decord uh appeared before the house executive department and administrative committee on Tuesday to discuss his proposal

Then an official international phonetic alphabet pronunciation for Concord be install in stay in stated alongside the official state animal state sport and other state symbols

So obviously it's Concord because that's the phonetic way of saying it would be Concord. Yes

Gallagher whose preferred pronunciation resembles the word Concord ran into some opposition from representative

Diane Schmidt

Who asked Gallagher if he had run his proposal past old Yankee folks whose pronunciation of the city name is closer to Con

Conkid Conkid Conkid whoa

I've heard that before I'll tell you um fearful that some of them may be offended if we mandate a specific pronunciation

It doesn't jive with the heritage

Gallagher responded with the official pronunciation would only be a symbol not a mandate

There you go even though the state fruit is the pumpkin you can still grow other fruits besides pumpkins which I'm sure our apple growers appreciate

Gallagher admitted his bill addresses a minor issue

But argued it was no less trivial than having an official state fruit

Yeah, he's got a point

I would like to give do something that we don't get a chance to do a lot

But we should do more often when we feel it when we see it I want to give a politician credit whoa

Yeah, how about that?

Gallagher admitted it's a minor issue

He did in this era in this year where they're turning a mountain into a molehill with everything every second of every day

And I pick it on one side here both sides. No

Uh, the the smallest thing and they turn it into the most gigantic thing

Yeah, actually give them credit and this is the how low the bar is for saying minor issue

Even though he still came back with the truck right right well and yeah

Okay, there's nothing wrong with doing this okay every state has their you know official whatever

You know, they kind of think so there's nothing wrong with doing this amongst I mean I'm hoping that the New Hampshire state legislatures doing important things as well

You know things that are important to the Pete their constituents and all that

But at the same time, there's nothing wrong with doing these little things is you know

I think these are nice things that can I mean there was a little I think it was very tongue-in-cheek you know them

The back and forth on this

But it can also bring us together, you know

We can all agree that the the state muffin of Minnesota is the blueberry muffin or whatever you know that kind of thing

I like I agree and I I also think that we need a little lightness and power

100% yeah there's serious things going on and obviously I don't think anybody's

That's lost we don't understand that yeah

Could use a little lightness nowadays 100% yeah use a little I actually think that we've been doing this a whole thing completely wrong

We should have nothing but comedians running for all

Every every position across the world. I'm not talking about just in America

I mean like in Russia and China everywhere everywhere should have just comedians running everything

We we've messed this up since the days of King and Queens it should have been the court jester that was running everything

They're the ones that knew what was really going on you know I'm killing but tell me I'm wrong

He's half kidding. I'm only half kidding. I'm 42426

Proof of rock. Proof of rock. Do you think our country might be better with if we had had Jackie Gleeson as a president?

Jack Benny Jack Benny as Red Skeleton any any one of those guys you know the congressman from New York Red Skeleton would you like?

Yeah, I got a great one. Okay. All right. Yeah, he's got to go

We'll get to the bill on see belts in a little bit. We want to hear this one. We want to hear this joke. Okay, everybody

I mean you know and my I wonder how much would get done

That that part would be a little one thing. I would know I know for sure

C-span would be the most popular channel on cable

100 it's gonna. That's it. I I just know doubts in my mind. I think I'd accident

I think we might have stumbled into something here. I think I think actually might have stumbled right into something

Oh, no, the catch of it is no comedian with their salt is actually gonna run no

Nobody who actually like really like kind of get some of this stuff is actually running because they're usually pretty good

And that means they have a good gig and they're paid well, and they're not gonna want to yeah go into

You have to go into Congress. I mean it's day around now. It's the same audience every day

It also is right

It does speak to how badly we need fresh voices and we need good people in politics. That's true. It's very true

A health and wellness company in Australia set a Guinness World record when a 509 people took ice baths at the same time on a beach

That sounds cold

One life one life live it organized the attempt at the record for the most people taking an ice bath simultaneously at

Layton Beach in Western Australia

One life live it. Yeah, that's a interesting. It's interesting name for your group. But hey, I'm not judging

especially when you're

One life live it. Okay, let's go attempt to attempt the fate with hypothermia

And now you're dead

The company set up large inflatable pools on the beach and the participants entered together with about 12 bathers in each pool

Participants participants were required to remain submerged up to their next for at least three minutes to qualify for the record

A total of five hundred and thirty seven people made the attempt but only five hundred or nine managed to just to go to the distance

Well, that's fine. Yep, you're tongue froze there. Yeah, just talking about just talking about got cold

The total was enough to surpass the goal of 483 people and win the record. Oh, well

The Guinness World Record record adjudicators was present to give an official certificate to the organizers

Man, if this this is the kind of thing is winning, you know, Guinness World Record. There's got to be something we can do

There's got to be something we can do

Dream something up. I don't know what it is but for it is all said and done

We are going to attempt. I'm not gonna say we're gonna break it, but we're gonna attempt a record a world record

Yes, our morning show is gonna do that everybody. It's it's any day now. We're gonna come up with it

If you got an idea, let us know for 242600

Otherwise, you can email our staff James dot mail up at civic media. US

Seth dot have Haggar at civic media. US. Yeah, you get a course direct message on our Facebook pages as well

I'm being very serious about this you got some ideas, but remember, but please be kind

I mean don't don't have to you know like wrestle bears or something

I don't think we're gonna be interested in that but remember

It's probably me that's going to be doing this because I'm the one that's kind of like you've been talking about this quite a bit

And I think yeah

It's not really fair to put Melissa and Seth or anybody else into this one would I've kind of walked us into this

Walked us down the plank if you will. He's he's true. That's very true, my friend. Yes

I do want to let everybody know that we do have a pet of the week come or not our pet of the week this week

We're doing things a little differently with our south of a county of main society

We'll have Tim joining us. We're gonna talk a little shop with him talk a little bit of how things are going over there

And things that they could use and need over a thing. It means it sounds good looking forward to that

Mm-hmm. I didn't want to touch on this one

Pam sent this over and if you hadn't seen this story everybody I wanted to touch on this

It's a good story of the day, and it's a local one all right

Chief musicians Jennifer Stokes from Webner Groves, Missouri and Renee DeBauer from Wisconsin Rapids

We'll be performing for students at a Sentinel high school in Burleson, Texas as part of the United States Navy bands

2024 national tour. Well, how about that?

Wow, I didn't know we had a native that was in the Navy band. That's really cool

The Navy band will travel 25,000 ground miles over 18 days to give to seven states giving 12 public concerts as well as five concerts for students in schools
