Banning billionaires from election bribery is at the heart of a bill introduced by legislative Democrats who want to tighten the existing ban on outright bribery to include the kinds of end-runs that would pay voters for signing petitions and awarding $1 million checks. Elon Musk tried this as part of a publicity campaign to benefit Brad Schimel’s failed campaign for a state Supreme Court seat. Now it needs to go away.
