Rain comes here and it's coming just for me.

Wind blows stir, rock the seas, yeah.

I'm a dog, just call me in the dead of night. One day you're mornin', it'll be alright.

My mind goes back to where we were young and I feel so proud.

Spread our wings and feel the night away, we fly, we fly, we fly, divine.

I so glass the stirrer I throw my soul and I don't think you even know that track.

Look around, I see the clouds begin to roll.

We'll go on forevermore, yeah, yeah, yeah.

My mind goes back to where we were young and I feel so proud.

Spread our wings and feel the night away, we fly, we fly, we fly, we fly, divine.

My mind goes back to where we were young and I feel so proud.

Oh!

Break the ice of new awarded, this to win.

You and I are forever friends.

My mind goes back to where we were young and I feel so proud.

I'm going to sleep and dream of easy skies when the sun goes down.

I'm going to breathe in the new sun rise without tears to hearts like pain.

I'm just going to be on the matter of everything we find.

We find divine.

Who's flying divine?

Who's flying divine?

Who's flying divine?

Who's flying divine?

Maxing video.

Radio for the people.

Wake up, we are here to play.

We're now, we're proud, we're here to stay.

This wall of sound is here and now we are mighty.

I know it now.

I are open now.

How the hell do you like us now?

Hey!

We are the iron globe.

Loudly chosen, glowing bass, the drums are pounding in your face.

This wall of sound is here and now we are mighty, I know now.

I are open now.

How the hell do you like us now?

I are open now.

Now it's serious, I know now.

Hey!

We are the iron globe.

Hey!

I like us now.

We are the iron globe.

Hey!

I like us now.

I am proud.

How you like us now?

Yeah!

Iron plow.

Hey!

That's my band playing there.

That was our title song, Iron plow.

Shameless self promo.

Well, before that, divine we fly.

It is Shameless promo because tomorrow night is the return of my band, Iron plow.

I will be returning to the stage.

It's pretty exciting.

Once again, for the first time since December since I had my cardiac arrest on stage.

So I'm going to face it, get behind the drums again.

How are you feeling?

I'm feeling great.

I'm ready to go.

I've been working out.

I've been getting my stamina going.

It's no different now.

I'll be playing.

So we are going to be playing at the Crucible Sunday September 14th.

Now, two to seven p.m.

It's with mother hive, static affliction, a badden zen, an iron plow, an iron plow.

Actually, it's a fundraiser for John Smolike.

And John is going to be in here tonight.

6.30.

He's actually on the phone in here with us, right?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah, in here in quotes.

It's a fundraiser for John.

He had his own set of health problems that put him in the hospital for a year with diabetes.

And partially implicated limbs.

So we're going to hear all about that story.

But before we hear that, we're going to be talking about iron plow playing there.

And it's going to be a lot of fun.

UW Health is going to be there, filming part of a story they're doing on my health journey.

And I am super proud and to kind of make this comeback and play for another drummer here in the Madison music scene that needs a little help.

Because you know, I really have compassion for people who have been in the hospital.

And he's, you know, kind of bad stays for musicians.

So fundraiser for big John.

He's the drummer from Go Play God.

We're going to hear some songs tonight from Go Play God.

We'll talk to John and hear all about the show.

So stick around for that.

You know, it seems the Madison music scene is really held up on the backs of drummers.

Like, you know, I mean, yeah.

Give the drummers some.

Yeah.

And all musicians, Mama cares is with the Mama Madison area music association.

And they started Mama cares.

That was Robert J.

And he actually had a heart attack.

And he had some hardships, you know, coming back from that.

And they said, wow, you know, musicians.

Sometimes they don't have the best health care or day jobs and things like that.

So we needed kind of a fun to help musicians in crisis.

You know, Madison's been really, really good about that.

And it's just incredible how the music community comes together for those musicians in crisis.

We have a lot of stuff coming up tonight.

I am rocker here with Chloe and Jane in the control.

In the house.

In the house.

We have big John drummer from Go Play God.

We were talking about his fundraiser.

He'll be here on the phone tonight.

Renee Aldana, channel 27 news reporter.

We just moved to Madison about four months ago from LA to Michigan state to the man city.

We're going to hear about her roaming reporter lifestyle.

And live from the man city tonight, Melissa Keeler.

She's here.

She's out on state street looking for something.

We're going to find out what that is.

And, you know, she's a singer songwriter.

Hard rocker.

Girls can't mentor.

And she plays in Mickey Mayhem.

Mickey Magnum in the Mayhem.

Has her own punk band now silenced the sirens.

And so we're going to hear a bunch of songs from Melissa.

And what her story is.

It's awesome.

Woo.

Right now I actually have another brand new song from Taylor Sherrick.

Did you guys were you able to look up?

Is he playing around food fighters or anything?

Um, yeah.

He is playing next weekend at the.

Well, he's playing next weekend.

We talked so much about Taylor last week.

If I try to look up, I just get Taylor Swift photoshopped over Shrek.

Oh, geez.

We'll find out where he's playing.

Taylor Shrek.

Taylor Shrek.

This is out to play.

This is brand new.

You're listening to Max and Cranio.

We are local music.

The clouds start to clear and it's all the weekend thing about.

The sun's coming out and now the time to play is almost here.

Isolating feels like fading deep into a hole.

Feeling the energy I have in fountain ages.

Because we all were trapped inside a dirty cages.

Now I'm coming out to play.

Now we're coming out to play.

I wake up one day and open up my eyes.

I can't believe what a sea I crack a smile.

I wake up one day and see this ain't died.

Now I'm coming out to play.

Now I'm coming out to play.

I wake up one day and open up my eyes.

I can't believe what a sea I crack a smile.

I wake up one day and see this ain't died.

Now I'm coming out to play.

I wake up one day and open up my eyes.

I can't believe what a sea I crack a smile.

I wake up one day and see this ain't died.

Now I'm coming out to play.

I wake up one day and open up my eyes.

I can't believe what a sea I crack a smile.

I wake up one day and see this ain't died.

Now I'm coming out to play.

I wake up one day and open up my eyes.

Now I'm coming out to play.

I wake up one day and I crack a smile.

Now I'm coming out to play.

I wake up one day and see this ain't died.

Now I'm coming out to play.

Now I'm coming out to play.

All right, brand new from Taylor Cherrick out to play.

And of course Taylor is the lead singer for the Fufu dolls.

And now Chloe, I think we found out where are they playing coming up.

Well, it looked like today they're at Jefferson County Fair,

which sounds like fun.

And next Saturday, the 20th, they will be at Capitol Brewery.

All right, Capitol Brewery right here in Madison, the Fufu dolls.

And you can hear Taylor with the Fufu dolls.

Horace Green.

Oh, you know what?

Before that, I forgot to tease something.

Yeah, you know what's going to be coming up.

You know, Marna Hansen is playing a show tonight,

premiering here of brand new video.

And our own Terry Barr is going to be at the show tonight.

She's going to call in just after seven.

And we're going to talk to her about the Marna Hansen show

and the previewing.

I almost forgot to put that down.

It wasn't even on my sheet.

So I wrote it down.

We're all good now.

So tune in just after seven for Terry Barr.

And let's get back to Horace Green.

Yeah, I've only just now learning that Horace Green is a band

and not one guy.

What?

It's like Jeff Rotel, right?

Yeah.

Or Alice Cooper.

I know it's great.

They're a really great band.

We've been playing their brand new song, Cream.

Quite a bit here on Maxing Radio.

But today I went back into the fall.

And a couple of years ago, they put on an album.

And I believe this was their debut album.

Let's hear one of the songs from that.

It's a throwback.

This is Sunflower Silo, Horace Green.

You're listening to Maxing Radio.

We are local music.

Well, now you're going to have to make up another minute.

Oh, I know I know too much.

Good God, please make me do.

I want to see the mystery.

I had forgotten was in everything.

And what looks I used to have in life, they have passed.

I'll bring them back when life ain't so fast.

But nostalgia's a base.

Not just a memory.

I cry for a better time.

I'll never want to say goodbye to a love.

I'll never want to say goodbye.

I'll never want to say goodbye to a love.

I'll never want to say goodbye to a love.

To a love.

Daddy's soul, come to me in times of need.

I get old, slower weaker in my knees.

Or is that my heart saying time to be?

I'll never want to say goodbye to a love.

I'll never want to say goodbye to a love.

I'll never want to say goodbye to a love.

And I'll chase my youth like a bullet chase a gun.

I can't only be here to have someone.

And don't it seem like yesterday?

We all were heaven dreams.

We'd get someday.

It'll always go to be this way.

I'll never want to say goodbye to a love.

I'll never want to say goodbye.

I'll never want to say goodbye to a love.

I'll never want to say goodbye.

I'll never want to say goodbye to a love.

I'll never want to say goodbye to a love.

To a love.

To a love.

To a love.

To a love.

To a love.

You can bring me to the world to make this easy to cure.

I won't break you.

I'm only taking with the grain.

I'm only taking with the grain.

I won't break you.

I won't break you.

I won't break you.

I won't break you.

I won't break you.

Wait in salt.

That is Go Play God.

You're listening to Maxing Radio.

I am rocker here with Chloe and Jane.

A journey to recovery is never easy.

And Big John is the drummer of Madison Hard Rock Band.

Go Play God.

And in 2023 his diabetes went haywire.

And John was hospitalized for a year at UW Health.

As with any health journey,

John has an incredible story.

And this Sunday, September 14th, the music scene is coming together

with a fundraiser for Big John.

And it's going to be at the Crucible on Madison's East Side

from 2 to 7 p.m.

The fundraiser includes four bands and a raffle.

That includes a 61 Gibson SG, a PRS guitar, and much more.

On the phone with us right now, Big John Smolik,

drummer of the Madison music scene for many years.

Big John, welcome to Maxing Radio.

Hey rockers.

Man, it is so good to talk to you, John.

How are you doing these days?

What's your current status like?

I'm good, man.

I'm, you know, ups and downs.

But every day's a step forward.

And you got to be really grateful for the short term goals

that you meet, you know?

Yeah, that's true.

Well, Big John, tell us a little bit, you know,

about how you got starting music, playing drums,

and your band Go Play God.

What's your backstory?

It's all started when I was a kid.

My mom was a music teacher.

Started playing snare drum.

With some lessons about third grade.

You know, the middle school, marching band, high school.

Marching band, jazz band, all that.

And then I grew up in Point Act, Wisconsin.

Yeah.

Lake, Lake Wisconsin area.

Yep.

And then I moved to Madison in 87.

Oh, good year.

Yeah, it was a very last tracker boys were getting.

I met a few local musicians and put a couple of things together, you know?

One thing that doesn't escape me is set fan.

I was like, God rest his soul.

He, uh, that started my journey.

And then I just, you know, I started meeting all you guys.

And, uh, was, yeah, great.

I was able to play with, you know, you know, Sean Brown and

cheer the captain.

Yeah.

That led me to, uh, friendship.

Of, uh,

20 plus years.

Um, the guitar player born.

And that's, uh, there goes, uh, limited days.

I got all the back then.

Now, right now, present, go play.

God.

We, um, me and Vaughn just started.

If I was the guitar player.

Yep.

Vaughn is.

We're going back out to the rehearsal spot one again.

And, uh, I set up an exclusive kit.

And, um, just, you know, slow turn and then.

Well, it's 2023.

And your band go play.

God is making ground.

But diabetes lands you in the hospital.

It was a year long struggle.

And you lost part of a limb in the process.

Tell us a little about about that story.

And your, your efforts to obtain a prosthetic and get back to work.

Yeah, that is February 23.

Um, I had some, uh, infection on my left lower leg.

Uh, the, um,

Amputated part of my foot.

And subsequently, they had to go just above the knee because the bone had gotten affected.

And then from there was, um,

I was in the hospital for a year.

Um, they got to see the two.

Um, my ex wife, she's, uh, she's an angel.

And my son and then I born.

Well, it's good to hear that you were getting back from all that.

I mean, what, what is your struggle with,

with trying to kind of get the prosthetic?

And is, is that part of, um, the fundraiser that you're holding?

Yeah, that's, that's, that's, uh, the main reason.

Um, I got to get to a certain weight.

I'm just about there.

When this, when this journey started back in February 23,

I was 300.

But I, I'm 390 some pounds.

And today I'm, I'm wearing, I'm wearing it at 261.

Wow.

That's it.

So I got, I got to get down to about 255,

250m there.

And then I get to be able to, you know,

keep the fluid off, uh, the, the body so that,

the limb, the, the stump,

does not, you know, swell up full of fluid.

Well, what is.

Okay, well, now you were fixing cars.

Is that where you used to work, right?

Auto.

I, I've been in my whole life in the parts of service,

repair business.

I've managed, uh, light automotive shops.

Big truck shops.

I sold heavy duty equipment.

That was the last thing I was doing.

I was selling, uh, commodity products.

And, um, you know, bulldozers and wheel orders and all that.

Yes.

Rock crushers.

And that's really one of the back to is doing that jig.

Yeah.

That's a lot of fun, man.

It's, uh, and I was able to travel a nation, you know.

A lot of time in Nashville, a lot of time in Memphis,

a lot of time in Oklahoma.

You know, um, there was a lot.

It was a good, good, good car.

Well, Sunday, September 14th, the music communities come together

to throw the fundraiser for big John.

It's happening at the Crucible live music venue here in Madison.

The show features four local bands, including mother hives,

static affliction, a bad and zen.

And I returned to the stage of playing drums for the first time since my health crisis

with my band Iron Plow.

And after spending my own time hospitalized and working back

to be able to play drums on stage, I'm proud to be helping big John out.

So come on out for this show.

John, what does it mean for you for people in the music community

to put this on this event for you?

Oh.

Um, sorry, man.

Uh, uh, unbelievable.

Yeah.

A lot of emotion.

Yeah.

Well, that's good work.

Good to hear.

We can't wait to see a between bands.

There's going to be raffles with prizes, including a few guitars.

A 1961 Gibson SG.

There was anonymously donated a PRS and a Fender acoustic.

Um, there's many more prizes.

Tell us about the fundraiser and the raffles and stuff that's coming on Sunday tomorrow.

You know, um, yeah, it came together with that.

Johnny Coons and a band them.

And, um, you know, John Coons really pushed for this.

And then it, you know, it started as a, as a thought idea.

And then it just started to steam roll.

And, you know, before you know, we had the power center involved.

We had big guitar.

Wow.

Um, I mean, you know, we had got the male.

We got the packers.

We got, I mean, there's just a lot of, a lot of things that just blown me away.

Oh, that's right.

There's going to be a Packers team, 2020, 14 signed football.

Um, and I read some Mallard's game passes.

Ultimate Arts tattoo package.

Yep.

There's really going to be a lot of stuff raffled off between the bands.

Yeah.

That's great.

But Ultimate Arts is awesome.

Wow.

That is really cool.

Yeah.

I'm grateful, man.

Well, John, it's so good to hear from you.

We're glad that you could be on the phone with us and tell us about this.

I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow and playing at the Crucible.

Uh, my band, Iron Plow goes off at five o'clock.

So make sure you're there.

Uh, the whole thing, the doors open at 2 p.m.

And, uh, big John, again, thanks a lot.

We really appreciate it.

One of Gold Play Gods big singles.

It's called meant to be.

Uh, tell us about this song before we listen.

Um, yeah, I kind of just came together when, uh,

uh, when Kurt Telefero was still alive with us.

Um, it, uh, it kind of just popped out.

You know how they say a song just popped out.

Yeah.

Uh, that's what happened in there.

Uh, we were doing a lot of studio work.

Uh, Mr. Paul Schlutter or the man that met the legend.

Um, that guy is an unbelievable panel with.

He produced this out.

This a single.

Yelp the up, uh.

And, you know, he didn't let us just rest on our laurels, you know,

he pushed, a post in post in post in post, I'm grateful for it and, um,

it's, uh,

it's.

It's an unbelievable turn.

Well, let's take a listen.

Thanks a lot, John.

Have a good night and we'll see you tomorrow.

Right now, let's check this out.

This is Go Play God and meant to be.

You're listening to Max and radio.

We are local music.

Love you, Arthur.

Like a fire, I tried to do the flame.

I sing to consume the scent that I need to feed on.

And as it eats a little, it's really just a meadow.

Now, you will live on.

In the spot that you saw grow, you know that it will go out on your soul.

And through the ash of gray, it begins a new founding that no one knows.

And all is meant to be.

Life ends where you are.

Life ends where.

Life ends where.

Life ends where.

Life ends where.

Life ends where.

Life ends where.

You can cut off all the horns.

But they just seem to grow.

Back even more white.

All is meant to be.

Life ends where.

Life ends where.

Your past is catching up with us again.

You're grasping all that we have present.

The future keeps it and shows that.

And it will slip out from through your people hands.

Cut the wounds and the chains they call out to me.

To put the things back to where they should be.

The corner, corner, corner, corner, calling to me.

No one else is there and now it's meant to be.

To put the things back to where they should be.

Yes!

That's just the way it was meant to be.

That's just the way it was meant to be.

That's just the way it was meant to be.

That's just the way it was meant to be.

That's just the way it was meant to be.

That's just the way it was meant to be.

You just heard from Big John from Go Play God

that was meant to be.

And tomorrow night, September 14th,

there is going to be a fundraiser for Big John

at the Crucible Featuring, Mother Hive,

Static Affliction, Abaddon's End,

and Rocker's Band, Iron Plow.

He's going to be drumming for the first time

since his cardiac arrest at that fundraiser.

Welcome back to Maxing Radio.

I'm Jane, that's Chloe.

Hello, Jane, it's Chloe.

And it's time for our little thing, you know.

Yeah, it's this thing we got going.

Yeah, and we also recently heard from Horace Green,

Throwback, Sunflower Silo,

and he is going to be at the Memorial Union Terrace

on September 26th.

I know those shows are always pretty packed.

I like the energy at those.

A little announcement here, it says on his website,

October 4th, Saturday, October 4th.

They're going to be live right here at Maxing Radio.

This is exciting.

Very exciting.

Now we're going to fit all four of them in here.

I guess we'll just have to all squeeze tight.

Yeah, we'll have to cram them all in there like sardines,

but I digress.

Anyway, we got some pretty cool stuff coming up next hour.

Just after seven o'clock,

in the middle of our double dip,

Terry Barr is going to be with Marta Hanson

premiering her new video for that song Bang Bang.

And we're going to call her from that show

and she's going to give us the scoop on what's going on down there

at the premiere.

That'll be fun.

She always gets the scoop.

In coming up at 730 as well, who do we have?

Yeah, Renee Aldana from Channel 27 is going to be joining us.

She recently moved to Madison.

She's going to be telling us all about that.

And she interviewed Rocco for a wee news piece

that should be airing tonight.

I think he said so.

I think so.

So he said he wanted to have her on here and, you know,

see it from both sides.

Mm-hmm.

And as I was saying, coming up right after this,

we've got a very special premiere that Chloe has got a brand new song out

and she did it all by herself.

Yes, it's, yeah, I'm really nervous and it's live radio.

So there's not much I can do about it at this point,

but I'm pretty excited about this.

Yeah, why don't you tell us about this song?

Well, I worked on a really sad album for two years in my basement

and then decided to not release any of that.

Instead, release a song I wrote over the summer.

And it's just like really happy.

And the reason it, I mean, I just, I'm in kind of a different phase of life

than I was when I started working on this project.

And I usually don't release a happy one is like the first single.

So I decided to change things up a bit.

And my favorite thing about this song is that every line is a double meaning.

So it's every line, every line.

Yeah.

So it's like half of the half of me wants to be like,

all in so excited about something.

And the other half of me is a little more apprehensive.

And which is why the song is called Handle of Care.

Yeah.

And really, you produced it yourself and played every instrument on it yourself.

Is that what you were saying?

Yeah, I did.

Yeah.

Yeah, this is a very special premiere live on Maxing Creative.

It's going to be out on platforms tomorrow, right?

Yeah.

It should be at midnight tonight.

Midnight tonight.

Okay.

Where can we hear this song once it comes out?

Spotify Apple Music.

Anywhere you listen to music and stream music, it will, it should be there.

And yeah, I'm pretty excited about it.

Okay.

Here's the premiere right here on Maxing Radio.

The night before it comes out.

Chloe Louise.

Handle with care.

An unusual first single.

Everybody.

Like, please try to listen for those double meanings.

I hope you get some lyrics with it too once it comes out, right?

Yep.

Okay, this is going to be great.

Chloe Louise.

Handle with care.

Thank you.

You're listening to Maxing Radio.

We are local music.

Thank you.

I love you.

I love you.

My favorite word just quickly turns a black.

If you ask where I've been, I would say pretty sad.

I met someone new.

He's nothing like his dad.

Seeing things differently.

I don't feel bad.

Pick a medal.

Does he know?

Does he like me?

I don't know.

But I like the way he's got me acting.

I don't know if I know what was happening.

Is he in me?

Or is it something I'm imagining?

Am I imagining things?

Am I imagining things?

Am I imagining things?

I don't know if you even think I'm nice.

But you got me checking my phone in the middle of the night.

Maybe I don't want to know if you really mean it.

Maybe instead of leaving, we could just fall asleep.

I'm laughing like a kid because your jokes they always said.

I'm making me laugh at something I do admit and we can hang out.

Let things come so easily.

You've never seen to it before.

You bring a lighter energy.

I don't know where we'll go but all I know is I want to go with you.

And me, I can see why you'd handle me cautiously.

Something I hope that you can see right off the batty.

That I'm seeming with different, seeming than my fast.

And if you don't, you and I, we had even crossed fast.

I'm cringing, wishing that you would just forget that.

Been kind of dumb, but these days you've got me smiling.

I forgot to shine, spending my breath.

Time is hurting, I've heard a mythical thing to do about perfect timing.

And you're cool and I like you.

Prove that it's overlining.

I don't know where we'll go but all I know is I want to go with you.

You look at me and I can see why you'd handle me cautiously.

Cause I'm laughing like a kid.

I'm laughing like a kid because your jokes they always said.

I'm a man making me laugh at something I do admittedly getting out.

Let things come so easily and never seem to work before you bring a lighter energy.

I don't know where we'll go but all I know is I want to go with you.

And I'm crying I've been 갈ing myself for a long time.

I'm crying, crying I've been 갈in' because you don't, you and I, we had been together.

I don't know where we'll go but all I know is that I want to go with you.

Look at me, I can't see why you hand on me cautiously.

I don't know where we'll go but all I know is that I want to go with you.

Look at me, I can't see why you hand on me cautiously.

I'm crying, crying I've been 갈in' because you don't, you and I, we had been together.

I don't know where we'll go but all I know is that I want to go with you.

Will this be the time I take it with my face?

I'm always crying I've been 갈in' because you don't, you and I, we had been together.

I don't know where we'll go but all I know is that I want to go with you.

Look at me, I can't see why you hand on me cautiously.

I don't know where we'll go but all I know is that I want to go with you.

Look at me, I can't see why you hand on me cautiously.

I don't know where we'll go but all I know is that I want to go with you.

Look at me, I can't see why you hand on me cautiously.

I don't know where we'll go but all I know is that I want to go with you.

Look at me, I can't see why you hand on me cautiously.

Look at me, I can't see why you hand on me cautiously.

Look at me, I can't see why you hand on me cautiously.

I'm Rocker here with Jane and Chloe.

The last time moments I hold on to a long time ago.

I'm Rocker, here with Jane and Chloe.

I'm Rocker, here with Jane and Chloe.

Wow.

Wonderful thing to see.

Marda opened up the show at 6 o'clock straight up.

She got up there, did a couple of songs.

She has some other friends who are here at Bir Rock who are also performing.

And in about 10 minutes, you can already kind of feel the anticipation because everyone who is here knows why they're here.

They are very excited, very supportive of Marda and her music.

And this premiere of the video for her song Bang Bang.

It's been a while in the making and the timing, honestly, Rocker.

I don't know what you think, but it couldn't be better.

It's really pretty incredible.

You know, you have a good point there.

And I'm surprised.

Tell us a little bit about because Marna is an advocate for gun control or gun safety.

Tell us a little bit about that.

Well, you know, it's all of it.

And it started with gun safety in schools because Marda used to be a music teacher in the school.

And she is no longer.

She's one of the few female piano technicians.

And whether her business took off, she just decided, you know what, I'm kind of done with the school thing.

Her husband is still a teacher.

But the kids, you know, like we used to do like a tornado drill.

Nuclear bombs.

Yeah.

Now they're having to do an active shooting drill.

And I know my nephew does this at his own school once a month.

Well, it just, it kind of blows my mind that they have to do things like this.

Today, though, the mom's demand action.

That's a national organization.

Marda is part of the Wisconsin chapter.

And there are a bunch of folks from that chapter here with her in support.

And they're handing out material just, you know, things that you can think about as a parent or a supporter.

To be able to help out if something like this happens or if something happens again in the future.

And you don't know what to do and you want to get involved.

So it's, it's a very cool evening here at beer rock on Madison's north side.

That's so cool.

And the beer rock, are you going to have what do they call them there?

They're not, they're not pasties there.

They're these, uh, they're, these treats.

They're, they're, these succulent treats.

What are they?

They call it a beer rock.

A beer rock.

Yeah.

And it's from German ancestry.

Yeah, it's his mom's recipe, right?

Yes.

Oh my gosh.

Yeah.

We both had one.

We thought people eating these rocker.

I've never had something so fantastic.

The pastry, super light.

Yeah.

Filling is just delicious.

You can get vegetarian.

They have beef.

They have chicken.

They have lamb.

And they have breakfast.

Wow.

Beer rocks on the weekend.

And those look amazing.

Well, there's some dessert ones too, right?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Oh boy.

Maybe we have to have that yet.

Right.

Can you bring some back to the studio, Terry?

I sure should.

I definitely should.

Oh.

I'm kind of in your neighborhood.

So we might have to meet here sometimes.

Oh, yeah.

That's a fun place.

Beer and beer rocks.

And it's got, you know, real European flavor there.

It's a great place.

It's really fun.

And I heard, I think that was Chloe that said she loves playing here.

Yeah.

Definitely.

Oh, you played there, Chloe?

Lovely.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I've never been there.

What about it makes it a good place to play?

Yeah.

Honestly, the staff is always super, super friendly and nice.

And that always makes a huge difference.

Yeah.

So that's cool.

And they really prioritize live music and live events.

Yes.

You love music.

Chloe, do you feel when you're playing here?

Because I'm noticing this tonight.

And maybe this is a different kind of night.

But do people actually listen to the music?

Yes.

Absolutely.

I love that.

Okay.

That's the way it should be.

Which is really cool because of its style being kind of bar restaurant

asks.

It's cool that people are still very, very in.

What's the word I'm looking for?

Intimate.

You're close.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Oh.

There's been hushed conversation.

So it doesn't bother anyone else.

And I really enjoy that because.

Marta chose other artists to play with her tonight at this show.

And all of them are singer songwriters.

So they all have special messages of their own that they're bringing to.

Yeah.

Sure.

This whole idea of safety.

Yeah.

Wow.

Well, in a minute here, we're going to hear Marta Hansen's bang bang.

The song machine at the video.

Tell us a little bit about that song if you can.

Yeah.

In Marta's words, honestly, I've interviewed her several times about this.

And she was on John and Gordy's show this week as well.

When he always goes back to feeling helpless.

I think she's been having a great time with her kids to school,

dropping them off, saying I love you, have a great day.

And then knowing that's the last thing some parents had been able to do.

And then they never saw their kids again because of the safety at schools.

So she said, what can I do?

Raise my voice.

Get active.

And so she has.

And tonight now to have this video go along with it.

I think that just takes it to the next level.

This video will end up in schools being shown and libraries,

which I think is a wonderful idea.

Wow.

It then opens up the conversation for everybody to have,

which is hard to start if there isn't something like a video that helps you, you know.

Does Marta have a website?

Marta Hansen Music.com.

That's E-J-N-S-E-N, right?

Correct.

And the video will be available to everybody after it premieres here tonight on her YouTube channel,

which is also Marta Hansen Music.

That's perfect.

Terry, thank you so much.

I love to share it.

We'll share it too on the Maxing page.

Terry, thanks so much for calling in tonight and showing up for Marta Hansen.

That's really cool.

Thank you.

And she thanks all of you because she really thanks Maxing Gradio has been really important to her

to be able to get the word out.

So thanks to all of you.

Rock and roll.

Well, let's check it out right now.

This is the brand new song for the video that Marta Hansen just put out.

This is called Bain Bain.

You're listening to Maxing Gradio.

We are local music.

Bain Bain, did you hear it?

Was it real?

Did I dream it?

Bain Bain, pack up your things I love you.

Have a good day, Bain Bain.

It won't happen.

Not you.

Not us, not you, Bain Bain.

Every day, getting louder, getting closer, Bain Bain.

Bain Bain.

Are we sorry for an action?

For closing our eyes do we care?

Have we ever really truly tried Bain Bain?

Keep shooting, keep hating, ask why Bain Bain?

Bain Bain.

Bain Bain.

Bain Bain.

Pack up your things I love you.

Have a good day, Bain Bain.

Bain Bain.

It's time for school.

Time to learn, Bain Bain.

Pack up your things I love you.

Have a good day, Bain Bain.

Ladies and gentlemen of a congregation.

I'm from here today to testify to you that the light of the Lord is alive and well.

And in the spirit of each and ever person in this church.

But there will come a day where the devil may darken your door.

Who doesn't tell the devil no people and chase them out and ride forward into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Come in the name, man.

Bain Bain.

Well, that used to be a time when I felt I'd talk in my door.

But my love for you came through just like never before.

That you'd not get you rid till I see it when I see your face.

Well, the love that's got up on it hard to visit my face.

Bain Bain.

Well, that used to be a time when I saw never sign on me.

Well, the love in your eyes, I'm a lover and twice no king.

That used to be a time when I fell in love every fucking night.

Well, the love that's got up on it hard to visit my face.

Bain Bain.

Bain Bain.

Bain Bain.

Well, the love that's got up on it hard to visit my face.

Bain Bain.

Well, the love that's got up on it hard to visit my face.

That used to be a time when I fell in love every fucking night.

That used to be a time when I fell in love every fucking night.

That used to be a time when I fell in love every fucking night.

That used to be a time when I fell in love every fucking night.

That used to be a time when I fell in love every fucking night.

That used to be a time when I fell in love every fucking night.
