and well he books all the bands over at uh... the majestic and the high new

insulin

hey what's up guys

glad i could join

not too much but we we have just been admiring all of the feasts that are

going to be happy was constant fast and you have uh... some fast coming up at

the high new insulin

on january fifth is punk fest and january six is metal fast

let's start there

yeah

so we've been doing these fast shows for

he i think like six years now

and it's just kind of started as a way to

fill uh... fill some music voids and medicine in the in the month of january

because

there's not a lot going on

uh... the Wisconsin festival is an awesome way to like showcase local

uh... it's not predominantly with scams base sometimes we get

a neighbor from

chicago or Minneapolis but people with ties with scams and who play here a lot

uh...

punk fest and metal that's obviously both and

like huge fan favorites over the years so

those are always super fun

the the metal fest at the high new saloon that's happening on saturday january

six

and i'm going to feature a couple of bands from metal fest during maxing

kevye after ten o'clock tonight with droids attack the faith those that eyes

conibction and so killer

the punk fest is also really cool to the rocker mentioned to

uh... the brash uh... we should have been dj's gridlock

sex scenes and lunar moth

and rest watch and wristwatch as well

couple of bands i'm not familiar with

now we just played the uh... the the cash marshal trio

and uh... they're part of the

i think it's coque marshal tree uh... coque marshal

we're all right

we could all be wrong it's possible everybody's wrong

they're part of the blues festival though and the blues fastest huge man

yeah it was really hard to pigeonhole where to put the coque marshal trio

uh... but i just love that band so much great

uh... great coque or cock or catch our we don't know how to say it but

he uh... he's from the lock he

he's just a rip in guitar player

uh... and then he has a son plan drum

and then uh... marshal on the the ham and b3 is just phenomenal so i i figured

uh... yeah those guys will fit well on blues fest

uh... also with ivy forward who you know is an iconic blues player

and uh... dan walker band who is another madison just

fantastic musician and uh... there was constant blues fastest happening jane

worry fifth that's at the majestic right right

yes and also at the majestic on january six

is the was constant funk fest

with rare element better yeti

and he box i'm not familiar with he box

so he box is one of those neighbors i was talking about he's actually from

Minneapolis uh... but he plays in was constant so much he

does a lot of stuff out at the driftless gardens we've had them to madison

countless times uh... he plays the shank's corners black party

uh... and just all over was constant so we figured it was okay to make him an

honorary citizen for the day um... he's like a one-man kind of a beatbox thing

um... but he is just one of the funtiest guys i've ever heard so

it'll be a really cool way to start off funk fest

and a little different than just um... a band you know it's it's truly a show

and then uh... uh... and of course i'll also a funk fest is rare element

their their legendary around madison they've always played around madison

they're so good and better yeti they're just fun

they're just a fun fun fan sweet potato fries tip tickle you know it

you know it's mostly uh... former members of the mustache right uh

madison funk royalty for a little while um

so both of those guys just evolved into better yeti so yeah some some great great

players in both of those then uh... then uh... let's see our next

fest is going to be January 13th for Wisconsin popfest

and that has uh... friends of the show cat and hurricane along with the

astronomers and tay and the neighborly

another great three band um... cat madison local buddha have really been making waves

doing tours um... just you know really hitting it hard

we did their album release show uh... this past fall at the high noon and it was

just the big crowd and such a great show um... tay and the neighborly is kind of a

newer band they're out of the fox valley but

holy cow if you haven't heard them check them out they're one of my new favorite

bands i have not heard another band that was

chat you'll really like it uh... tay um... has just one of the most unique voices

i've ever heard it was another band that was hard to pigeonhole you can kind of

put them in a few different best spots but it's just easiest to call their

music popular music um... and then the astronomers are uh... a pretty big

nationwide band um... who called Wisconsin home so i was just really excited to

get all three of those bands together wow and was constant jazz fest uh... Ben

ferris octet rick flowers uh... amalgam ex uh... the feast at who we had here on

the show a few uh... weeks ago and then the john hole trio

yeah um... that's cool you had peace that in there uh... my love that band

and uh... you know a lot of these guys play in different bands i think

john hole will be um... funk fest with better yet eat right uh... so will

bend ferris but uh... it's like a lot of these great musicians in medicine

they have their uh... their toes dipped in a few different pools so they can do

funk they can do jazz um... and then rick flowers is just a great musician he plays

an array of instruments um... so what whatever he puts together for that night will

be fantastic and you know i'd have to say feast that when we had them here

helen and the band just an amazing band but the the trumpet player i was just

amazed because he plays an eve i an electric valve instrument it's not

it's like uh... and it was from the early seventies you know pre-midi

and it's unbelievable how this guy plays trumpet on this uh... eve i there something special to see

i've never seen him live i'm excited i'll definitely be front and center at pop fest

nice i think uh... i think we've been through

all your best you have a ton of them coming up at the majestic

we have the jazz fast don't forget jazz fast we just talked about just i mean one

other one too is also uh... bluegrass fast

oh at the silvie that's with horseshoe's and grenades

them kooley boys in the last revival that's going to be a

to stop in crazy show at the silvie

yeah um... the last rebel uh... there again they now call minnesota home but they

all grew up in wisconsin so uh... they still have their wisconsin valid drivers

license uh... horses you know horseshoe's and hand grenades is kind of the uh

wisconsin's just native sons those guys they play all over the place

but um... what a great band and we're so excited to have them at the silvie again

horseshoe's hand grenades they've been around for at least 20 years haven't they?

and maybe not that long but i bet it's close yes

you know they've been playing nationally um... you know headline big festivals

stuff like that so um... it it's cool that we can do these fest shows and really

showcase how much awesome talent we have just right here in wisconsin though

no doubt and them kooley boys is another great great band and they're really

starting to make some ways nationally but um... wisconsin is their home so

bluegrass fast will be great um... we do have one at the end of the month too we have

wisconsin hip hop fest at the high noon on january twenty seven

um... the high noon got a little maintenance happening this january so we

ended up putting that one uh... a little later in the month but um... also super

super show um... gary knowledge is the host of that show and he puts together the

line-ups for a lot of local hip hop shows that we do together

um... and he always gets just great great artists so we're excited about that one too

i know what rob d's is playing the hip hop fast

in madison love them uh... they they it's become something to look forward to

for the month of january you know what i mean

yeah i love that you know it used to uh... obviously there's always music

everywhere in madison but it's just super cool that we get to showcase these

them um... i actually it turns into a busy month for me because i go to all these
