In fact, in the days leading up to January 6, President Trump was urged to ensure the security of the joint session and to deploy the National Guard to aid in managing security, but refused to do so. Then Maggie discusses the debacle that was Pete Hegseth's Senate confirmation hearing this morning, featuring questioning by Senators Gillibrand, Blumenthal, Hirono, and Kaine.
