Dorothy Brown, author of "The Whiteness of Wealth: How The Tax System Impoverishes Black Americans- And How We Can Fix It", became a tax lawyer specifically because she wanted to enter a racism-neutral field. In her studies, she found the data pointed toward inherent disparities. For starters, the IRS does not have any data based on race, which is a huge red flag.
