Bill Lazonick is one of the world’s foremost experts on stock buybacks and corporate resource allocation. He is a professor emeritus of economics at University of Massachusetts, and a co-founder and president of the Academic-Industry Research Network, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Previously, Lazonick was an assistant and associate professor of economics at Harvard University and a professor of economics at Barnard College of Columbia University.
