way of thinking is that the parents do all they can.

But once the kids leave off that door, whatever have you, they make their own decisions.

I don't care if you nine or 99.

It's still your decision about the situations that you didn't bob yourself in.

We talking about tax-paying citizens.

Look into their taxes.

Look into this.

We talking about elected officials doing backdoor deals and somehow she still wanna blame immigrants.

That's what we talking about right now.

We following the money and you still wanna blame black people and immigrants and welfare and all of these things for policies and backdoor deals that put poor people in worse position.

Live from the American Family Insurance Studio at the Third Street Market Hall.

Maybe Shannon

Like you said, they want to pat their pockets, but they need a reason to push things through.

Man,

Maybe Shannon

how was your weekend, Shannon?

It was good.

Friday, I went out and that did it for the rest of the weekend.

And

then

Maybe Shannon

it was like, you know what?

Now it's time to rest.

I got back in the gym one day this weekend.

It felt good.

It's been a while.

I was like, you know what?

I'm gonna go to the gym.

Yeah.

Felt like I did some things with my life, you know?

I didn't

go to the gym.

Maybe Shannon

And yesterday, you did it?

No,

Maybe Shannon

no.

What you was up to this weekend?

I'll tell you later.

I'll tell you later.

What'd you do yesterday?

This is top secret.

Maybe Shannon

Man, yesterday I literally cooked and was cleaning up and stuff like that.

Just, you know, the housekeeping stuff on Sundays.

You

Maybe Shannon

know

how

Maybe Shannon

to

cook.

And then

Maybe Shannon

last night.

Yeah.

I sold this what I do now, right?

Because I got ADHD or whatever.

I used to think I couldn't cook, but I'm like, oh, I wasn't paying attention.

Look,

Maybe Shannon

things was burning because I started doing something else and forget I was cooking.

So I got my methods now to keep me locked in to what I'm doing.

One thing at a time.

You know, now that I'm older, I know how to pay attention a little better.

Yeah, now I can cook.

I'm like, huh,

who

Maybe Shannon

wouldn't know?

I could

Maybe Shannon

cook this whole time.

What's your go-to dish?

I

Maybe Shannon

don't have a go-to dish.

I don't.

What's

Maybe Shannon

easiest, you could just throw together pesto chicken as easy as ever.

Just throw it together, some rice, some broccoli or something on the side.

Easy.

Steak is pretty easy too.

I've been trying out all types of recipes.

I ain't gonna

lie.

Maybe Shannon

Chicken teriyaki, I've been having fun.

It's fun just trying out different things.

And then with stuff being so expensive, it's like, I can make this at home and make it to my taste.

Like, this is

what I

Maybe Shannon

like to eat.

Stuff is more expensive now, and it's cheaper quality in these restaurants.

It's like eating McDonald's

at restaurant

Maybe Shannon

prices now.

Like, it's like, I might as well cook.

Man, most

Maybe Shannon

definitely.

And McDonald's prices just going up in general.

Not that I'm an avid McDonald's shopper, but, you know.

I remember when those things, you used to be able to get two McChickens for $2, two for two.

Then it went up to two for 222.

And I was like, ah,

Maybe Shannon

some.

Come on,

man.

They like you get two for 15.

Wait a minute.

Maybe Shannon

And then they be low key like trying to ease it up to like every day almost.

What are we doing, dawg?

What is happening?

A small fry danger, $3.

What is this?

All right.

Man, shout out to everybody in the chat.

Mark, I said

Maybe Shannon

the quality.

The quality is definitely.

Maybe Shannon

Quality just trash.

Man, I'll tell you what I did this weekend.

But first, shout out to everybody in the chat.

Not really a city girl.

We see you.

Make sure y'all pull up, man.

Like and share the chat.

Like and share the YouTube, man.

We got a lot of things coming up, man.

We cooking some other things as well.

For the menu today, we're going to run through the menu real quick.

We have some unrest, y'all.

So from Paris to Milwaukee, the streets are talking.

France just lived through the worst unrest in years and Milwaukee took to the streets to peacefully with a ballot on the mind.

And with 15 days to an election, everybody's asking the same question.

What is on the way?

All right.

So we're going to talk about France, y'all.

Paris is burning.

The city is burning down.

You feel me?

Then at 1230, we got a What's Poppin' with Shannon.

Shannon, tell them what you got for us today with What's Poppin' with Shannon.

Maybe Shannon

What's Poppin'?

What's Poppin' with Shannon?

Oh my... Listen, What's Poppin' with Shannon?

We talkin' about...

I'm rest I'm guessing this is all across the menu We are talking about unrest and protests and we also talking about social media We gonna talk all about how that ties together at 12 30 so you don't want to miss it

Don't miss it.

You don't want to admit this one was crazy actually and then We gonna be talking about what's on the way y'all with the state of the country with the state of the world what is on the way

November 3rd, early voting opens tomorrow.

That's the election day.

Early voting opens tomorrow.

What is on the way, y'all?

When we going to talk about the insurrection that happened, all right?

The insurrect.

Y'all remember that?

Y'all remember that?

And then we also have a segment that we want to talk about.

Actually, you brought this one to my attention, Shannon.

You want to give him a rundown about the ticket master.

situation.

Maybe Shannon

Yeah.

So there's a lawsuit happening because people have been buying excessive amounts of tickets and reselling them.

I think for a Beyonce concert, the place that's getting sued will get into that.

They made almost a million dollars off of ticket resells.

That's how high they was pricing these tickets up and I think it came to a head when Taylor Swift concert tickets were basically all resale tickets So it you know it came it came up in this lawsuit So I know they normally well look I don't want to tell y'all too much y'all got to stay locked in all right

I was gonna get

Maybe Shannon

into it because

Y'all got me messed up if y'all think y'all finna re-sell me some tickets.

But listen, we don't get right back into this after these messages, y'all.

Don't go anywhere.

You're listening to the award-winning 101.7

The Truth.

You're listening to The Lunch Break with Ray Nitty and Maybe Shannon, where every discussion is on the menu on the award-winning 1017 The Truth.

What up, y'all?

Welcome back.

Welcome back to the award-winning 1017, The Truth, live from the American Family Assurance Studios.

Yes, it is lunchtime.

Your favorite two with your favorite crew in the brew, the lunch break crew, Ray Nitty, maybe Shannon DJ, Brother Z holding us down with the production and sound.

It's time to get into this menu, y'all.

833-212-1017.

That is the number to dial.

We could go bang for bang.

I was saying that wrong for so long.

Maybe Shannon

What would you say?

I was saying bang for bang.

Like we could go bang for bang.

But he's saying bang for bang.

He was over there.

We could go bang for bang.

Which is actually kind

of.

He mad at shit.

You'd have thought that.

For real.

I was just going to say was.

Maybe Shannon

We can

go N for N. Oh my God.

That's pretty good.

You got me, man.

You got me with that one.

And I probably should have understand that a little more, because when they say it, it actually sounds kind of close to our vernacular.

Bun.

We can go bun for bun.

You know, I almost sound like y'all accent, just a tad bit with the words like this.

But Shannon is ultimate petty dog.

Like she reached back like two weeks ago to bring that one back.

Damn.

My

Maybe Shannon

brain

just

Maybe Shannon

connects.

God, listen, I can't help it.

That's what I like.

That's

Maybe Shannon

just what my brain, I be like, wait a minute, hold on.

Now, now it's a war.

If we, if we are, if we are carving.

I was just making sure things

Maybe Shannon

are fair.

That's all.

I just wanted to make sure things was fair.

That's all.

It's all fair.

Maybe Shannon

I'm not mad at you saying bang for bang.

Alright, y'all.

A 3 3 2 1 2 10 17 that is a number to die Obviously, I'm being attacked again today.

You could also text that number as well Please don't feel nervous to call in and chop it up with us on these topics.

All right, we could We could use What is going on?

That was that was you what it I had to look over like I

Maybe Shannon

don't know how that

Like emergency I

Maybe Shannon

was gonna call 911 All

right,

Maybe Shannon

oh man

Sorry.

We got to focus.

My bad.

All right, y'all.

Today's theme.

All right.

One word.

One word and the word is unrest.

The word is unrest.

All right.

Saturday, France erupted 550,000 people in the streets.

That's a lot of people in the

Maybe Shannon

streets.

a lot.

That's how many got arrested, right?

So it was more people.

How

they

Maybe Shannon

got a fully

funded police department to arrest 500 to half a million people.

Impossible.

No, that's how many people was in the streets.

Town halls

Maybe Shannon

like

town halls was burning going willingly.

Right.

It's like, you know what?

Let me go in.

I need to talk to somebody and I know they in there.

They owe me some and I needed it by

Maybe Shannon

tomorrow.

Half a million people in the streets, y'all.

The town halls was burning, the worst unrest that country seen in years.

Saturday, Milwaukee, March 2, Cathedral Square, no Kings rallies.

And the message was vote early because Election Day is 15 days away and nobody trusts what is coming.

I'm telling you.

Yeah.

Nobody trusts what is happening on election day.

And Shannon, I know we didn't put it in the docket today for the segment, but you have brought to me, and maybe it's something we do talk about, because you said that they have now issued new guidelines on how to deal with ICE at the election polls and things like that.

Maybe Shannon

Scary work.

It really makes you wonder what's being planned.

And trust me, if you don't think something is being planned, then.

I don't know what else to tell you.

Everything has been planned.

Everything.

So today we're going to go from Paris to Milwaukee.

All right.

What's happening?

What's on the way?

And then we talk about the insurrection, not history or the news.

We talking about pardons, purges and payouts.

Plus the feds nearly nearly and finally came for the ticket scalpers.

All right.

18 and a half million tickets and Beyonce fans paid the price.

They was going crazy on the tickets.

All right.

So Saturday, October 17th, y'all France woke up Saturday.

to the wreckage of one of its most violent days of unrest in years.

The numbers, more than half a million people in the streets by the government's own count, 800,000 by the unions across 140 cities, 100,000 in Paris alone.

And it started where these things always start with the young.

The young people are the ones that's always fueling it.

All right, back in September.

High school students started blockading their crumbling classrooms in the poor, northern suburbs of Paris.

A month later, the unions, the teachers, the pensioners, the farmers, even veterans of the yellow vest movement answered the students' call and converged.

All right?

So what are they angry about?

What they angry about over there, France, you think, Shannon?

Maybe Shannon

I think probably the same thing

that

the rest of the

Maybe Shannon

world is angry about the government playing in everybody's face.

Exactly.

They're angry about the cost of living, inflation, public services falling apart and something deeper.

One protester told CNN there's less democracy and a concentration of power under market.

That's the president or, I don't know what they call it, a personally based country over

Maybe Shannon

there.

I think it's the president,

right?

Maybe.

But I said billionaires are controlling the media

Maybe Shannon

and I'm like, huh, does that sound familiar?

Going through, it's like across the world, everybody going through the same type of mess.

I'm trying to tell you.

I'm trying to tell you.

I am trying to tell you, people are fed up.

And I'm telling you, I think what's next is going to start happening in America.

But wait, maybe it already did.

But maybe it's just about to start expanding and evolving to what the uprising looks like.

Because it's only so long, Shannon, you can keep your foot on somebody's neck.

and holding them underwater.

Before they start biting at ankles and scratching and clawing and doing.

I'm telling you.

Maybe Shannon

For real though.

You're right.

You're right.

It's only so long.

Only so long before that.

All right.

So yes, they angry about a lot of the same things.

That we are most of the half million March peacefully, but as the night fell Hmm You know as the night fell I could only you could only imagine what happened, right a protester died in Paris cardiac arrest during demonstrations nearly 1800 people arrested arrested nationwide 855 in Paris.

That's a record for them

More than 500 police officers injured in Saint Etienne.

I only know that name because of the Travis Etienne from the New Orleans Saints now.

It's a football player, fantasy football.

A 17 year old protestor had his own hand blown off by a grenade.

Oh, no.

A grenade.

What is a grenade doing

Maybe Shannon

in the protest?

Where you even get that like where was it gonna go?

What was he trying to blow up?

It's

crazy

Maybe Shannon

But what do they say protests is the language of people that have been silenced or something like that

exactly

Maybe Shannon

I mean

Exactly now sure you may have some folks that take advantage of the moment, but People are tired

of greed and corruption and everybody raising prices on things that shouldn't cost this much for us to consume.

But it's greed.

American greed.

Not even just American greed, because it's not just fear to put it just on America, but greed in general.

Maybe Shannon

To the point where it feels like the haves and the have nots even when you think of the ticket master situation and ticket sales It's like you can't even go see a show these days if you ain't working it

Or if you ain't

Maybe Shannon

rich you got to work there.

You got to be rich.

Mm-hmm Man well guess what you don't have to be rich to be a part of our family right here on the award-winning 101 7 the truth You don't got to be rich to be a part of the lunch break crew.

Don't go anywhere.

Y'all when we come back

We gon' get more into this.

Actually, no.

When we come back, it's gonna be time for, what's poppin'?

Shannon, we're Shannon.

So don't go anywhere.

Y'all will be

returned right here after these messages.

Now it's time to tap in to What's Poppin' with Maybe Shannon.

What's Poppin' with Maybe Shannon.

Live on a lunch break with Ray Nitty and Maybe Shannon.

Live on a lunch break with Ray Nitty and Maybe Shannon.

Hey Shannon, can you tell us what's poppin'?

Maybe Shannon

Welcome back to the award-winning 101.7 The Truth.

Y'all are right on time for What's Poppin' with Shannon, all right?

And What's Poppin' with Shannon definitely is fitting the theme of today's show because we are talking about a rally or multiple rallies that took place this weekend.

People showed up in the streets this weekend, but what happens when platforms they use to reach people online suddenly cuts them off We're talking about the no Kings movement in its Instagram account being temporarily shut down during Saturday's nationwide day of action Now if you're wondering what no Kings is about organizers say that their message is what is That power belongs to the people and the president should not govern

like a king the movement calls for peaceful nonviolent action and this weekend's event focused on getting people prepared to vote and encouraging early voting

where early voting is available.

And on Saturday, October 18th, rallies took place across the country, bringing together people opposed to the president's administration.

This time, the emphasis was on turning protest participation into voter participation ahead of the November 3rd midterm elections.

So basically, they were trying to mobilize and get people out there to vote.

It was a big movement.

Across states.

I didn't even realize how big this movement was Because I hadn't seen much coverage on my timeline, which was weird after I heard what happened.

I was

Maybe Shannon

like, oh So This is what happened y'all according to you know According to protesters meta has since apologized, right?

Saying that all of a sudden Their platforms were taken down

During the height of the mobilization, the same day the protests were supposed to take place, all of a sudden, their Instagram account went offline.

It got disabled.

Not like, oh, it just went low.

No, they disabled their whole account.

Like, excuse me?

Hello?

Like, completely gone.

It was down for about two hours, right?

And when it did get back up,

Users of these accounts or the people that own the account couldn't post and do certain things on that account so Meta apologizing they said it's automatic protections and they mistakenly flagged all the activity it was getting as bot traffic The account was offline for more than an hour like I said with access problems taking longer to resolve like I said when they got it back They still couldn't even access certain features of the account

And organizers disputed that explanation and reported other restrictions on no Kings and early voting content across meta platforms.

Like I said, I didn't even realize these things were taking place as involved as I am.

And like a lot of these things, I didn't see any content involved in this.

And it took me looking up what happened this weekend to figure out this had taken place specifically.

So I don't, I don't know.

I feel like the timing is a bit off.

You know, and I do want to know from Truth Nation.

Do y'all accept Metta's excuse all the all the What did they say all of the movement on that account made it look like it was a bot They thought it was a bot account and they shut it down or do you feel like the timing is just something that's raising a red flag for you guys because

It's odd that that account has probably been around for a long time and it hasn't had any issues.

And now at the height of their mobilization, at the height of their protests, where they're telling people where to meet, where they're telling people how to get involved, their account gets taken down.

Like, excuse me?

So.

Like I said the impact doesn't disappear even if you say it's an error if you're an organization and you're organizing an event live streaming What's happening or trying to get information to people in real time?

those

Maybe Shannon

hours matter and Restoring your page later doesn't even give back that audience or it doesn't help in the moment Right while they were trying to get that momentum like I said at the height of them trying to organize and get things going off the ground

Their page was taken down and it also brings the question how much power we have handed to social media companies over our ability to communicate.

We use these platforms for everything, promoting businesses, sharing organized sharing news, organizing community events and showing people what's happening around us.

So.

I don't know, right?

If a company say our automatic system made a mistake, is that enough for you, especially in a situation like this?

Are you buying it?

Absolutely not.

100%

Maybe Shannon

not.

Yeah.

You know what you

Maybe Shannon

did?

They said, oopsie daisy.

You said, do I?

You dirty bastard.

Maybe Shannon

Yeah.

You cutting

me off.

Maybe Shannon

They, they,

definitely,

Maybe Shannon

they literally like cut it, cut it off at the height of what was going on.

And I also have a video.

Brothers, do you have that video?

One second.

Yeah, so we got a video of somebody explaining where you can go to actually come up with a plan for early voting It just felt very targeted And it's super unfortunate like what do we do rely on social media so much like what like I don't even know Where people would go outside of social media to get their point across or to mobilize at this point.

I think we're so

Deep in the social media era.

I wouldn't even know like if it wasn't for my social media How to get such a large amount of people together especially now that you see all these tech billionaires Pardon it like you know picking aside it quite obviously and it's like when it comes to situations like this You have to kind of accept that excuse because what can they do?

They

Maybe Shannon

can't they can't sue you took my Instagram down.

What do you do?

But we're gonna go ahead and play that video, Brother Z.

Now Mark Zuckerberg's meta just shut down the official No Kings Instagram account.

That's right They shut down the account in the middle of today's massive nationwide protests against Trump the timing cannot be more suspicious According to no Kings organizer as 11 meta suspended the account for about 90 minutes right as millions of Americans were mobilizing for today's National Day of Action and now meta has restored the account and reportedly admitted that made a bad call but organizers still cannot accept

their own accounts to post.

Today's No Kings protests weren't just about showing up in the streets.

They were a massive call to action to get Americans to vote early in the upcoming midterm elections.

And right in the middle of that effort, one of the movement's biggest communication channels was taken offline.

Now, we don't know why META did this, but we deserve answers.

And here's my message.

If they're going to try to censor us, then we need to go even harder.

So I'm asking every single person watching this.

Text early to 630-

33 right now to make your early voting plan

Maybe Shannon

Yeah, man, make sure y'all text early and get a voting plan in order because clearly they are trying to censor people And it just brings up the question.

Are we too dependent on platforms?

that we don't control to keep our communities informed.

And then it makes me really question what the next step is, right?

Do you, do you look, you got insight on stuff.

You got good insights.

What do you think the next step would be or should be?

Cause I genuinely don't have a, I don't have an answer as much as I talk.

I don't got no answer for this.

When you saying you mean next steps for what in particular?

Maybe Shannon

I feel like as far as us depending on certain platforms that we know are against us.

You get what I'm saying?

Like what do we do to get the word out?

I

Maybe Shannon

feel like that that probably was their biggest platform and just like that it was taken down.

And

Maybe Shannon

we are dependent on those platforms.

I think as society has become more technically...

You know savvy and dependent I think it's easy to feel like oh, how else are we gonna get our message out and You know True indeed it is social media affords us an opportunity to hit the world Instantly right you don't have to be in Paris to to get your message

viewed or heard over in Paris, right?

We have that instant thing, but yeah, we have became too dependent on these platforms, even in my opinion, even trusting these platforms too much to be like, that's where we get majority of our news from.

We don't separate like what's real news, what's real substance versus the mess.

So, yeah, we have gotten super dependent on these platforms.

But I think we have also forgotten that we used to do such a good job in spreading the word prior.

It's just that now it's going to be a little slower with technology affording us all these instant opportunities.

But that's

just

my thoughts, man.

I just think...

I don't know, man.

To me, it's clearly some sort of violation of freedom of speech, right?

Or plot to... I mean,

Maybe Shannon

to most people, it's clear.

But they're like, oh, we just thought it was bots.

Like, what?

How?

Yeah, they think it's bots.

And then it

Maybe Shannon

brings me to, like... Right.

And then it brings me to...

when TikTok first got taken down, do you remember that like a few

years ago?

People were

Maybe Shannon

upset.

And people thought that, like, I feel like I remember I was explaining online why it was so frustrating for a lot of creators, why we were upset about TikTok being taken down.

It was taken down because they wanted to force TikTok to sell to America

because it was an

Maybe Shannon

American company.

And a lot of creators were like, dude,

TikTok is the only place right now where we can just spread information uncensored like to a sense like TikTok has been always been very good at Making sure things are safe, right?

Like you don't see a lot of blood and gore and Sexual stuff on there.

You can't do that even certain curse words and saying certain things would get blocked So they were good about censoring those things but like things across the country like

I feel like a lot of people were upset because it felt like America wanted a piece of that to be able to censor what we are taking in better.

And since they did sell, they did some type of sale to America to appease

Trump, I guess,

Maybe Shannon

whatever.

And since then...

a lot of tiktok users have stated they don't see certain things that have things something to do with politics you won't see negative things about the president like it's very hard to find certain content because it's now censored and like this just reminds me again like tiktok was the only platform we had where it didn't feel like it was heavily censored where it didn't feel like you you know what i mean like you risk being shut down for things like this

So, I don't know, it's just got me thinking, like, what's the next move for people that want to mobilize, for people that want, you know, information without being censored in a sense, I guess, or without, you know, the threat of your platform being taken down?

DedicatedChef, man, what we cooking, Chef?

Maybe Shannon

I know that's right.

Welcome back, y'all.

It looked like they cooking in the comments.

Yeah, they going crazy.

Maybe Shannon

It looks like they cooking

a little bit

Maybe Shannon

in there.

What they talking about

Maybe Shannon

over

there?

833-212-1017.

That's the number to die.

What our cousins talking about, Shannon?

Maybe Shannon

Robert Land said they did that for Biden's administration too.

I'm guessing they shut down the internet during that situation as well.

Ray, what's up?

Femo, happy Monday.

City girl, what's up?

What's up?

They

Maybe Shannon

be telling me to stay on track and I'll be trying to go off track that one say there goes my baby But you know when I say that I already know we gonna get off track.

So I was like, you know

Hehehehe

Maybe Shannon

Alfonso said, non-voters don't want to watch the news or listen to talk radio.

They too busy listening to drill music.

I mean, I feel like you can listen to drill music and you can go vote.

And I think that's what we missing out on.

We got to show people duality and show people you can care about what's going on around you and have a great time.

All right.

Ukraine and Russia is bombing each other.

Oil foundries stock up on food and water.

TikTok is a great way to put out awareness.

And yeah.

Oh, 2026, we still begging people to vote.

What we doing?

Do you think that's like because we asking people to vote, we doing something wrong?

No, no.

I think what

Maybe Shannon

he's trying to say,

I'm going to assume.

I'm going to assume what he's saying is he can't believe that we still have to beg people to vote in 2026.

Maybe Shannon

That's what I'm

assuming he's saying.

I could be wrong.

Maybe Shannon

I thought he was saying, I thought he was saying, look, clarify for us in the chat.

I thought he was saying we still begging people to vote.

And that's what we doing wrong.

Yeah, no, I think I'm assuming he's saying that it's a shame that we still got to beg.

people to vote.

But it is a shame that we still have to beg people to vote.

It is.

But it's not a shame because I understand what type of disenfranchisement has been taking place to, you know, weaken our vote or show us that voting is not important or to perpetuate that narrative that our vote doesn't matter.

Maybe Shannon

So don't do it.

Yeah,

exactly.

Yeah, but we know specifically in Wisconsin and in our elections.

We know so many important races, governor races, mere races, particularly governor races was determined by 30,000 votes or less.

I know somebody who was running for order and they lost by less.

than 14 votes.

So think about that.

Think about that.

14 votes.

And that's why I always say it's more important to not.

Not like it's the other ones aren't important, but it's so much more vital to vote in your local elections, your governor races, your state

Maybe Shannon

representatives, you know.

You know it's going to be easy to get out there, but like it ain't like it's going to be a line around the corner.

Hopefully not.

You know what I'm saying?

Like it just take a few minutes out of your day and don't want to be off work anyways.

Look, they give you time off work to go do it.

Utilize that time.

Go grab you some lunch and go vote.

You know what I'm saying?

They have to give you time off to go vote.

So y'all want to be off so bad.

Use it as an excuse.

Go go vote.

I think they get some sunshine.

They got to give you up to two hours if I'm not mistaken.

I think they have to allow you at least up to two hours to go cast your vote.

So, yeah, get you go grab you something to eat, man.

But these elections are important.

This governor race is extremely important.

I think it's very you know what I listen to this weekend.

I called it while I was in the car.

Actually.

I listened to Sherwin's interview with Governor Westmore and David Crowley.

And I think that was a pretty dope interview.

Westmore is only the third African-American governor to be elected in this country's 250 years of being in existence.

Think about that.

50 states.

250 years.

Three.

Maybe Shannon

Three

governors.

And Wisconsin has the opportunity.

To elect the fourth

Maybe Shannon

to make it four.

That's wild.

That's actually insane.

That's insane, ain't it?

That's insane.

Let's go talk to Millis sign.

on the line.

Cousin Millicine, how are you feeling?

You live with the lunch break on the award winning one on seven.

I'm good.

I'm good.

You know, and I know you all can laugh and agree with this.

But the saddest part about it is that Grand ASS people are getting their news and their information from Hick Talk.

That is the most asinine thing ever.

Grown people should be watching the news and reading the newspaper.

So I get that I use TikTok as a mode of information, but that should not be it.

And that might be why Black America is where she is.

TikTok should have been used as a fun thing.

It should be, oh, let me go to TikTok and see who I should vote for.

That's stupid.

Listen, I just can't, I don't get it.

And I get that there were black people that were being held down, there used to be slaves and all of that.

But if you're going to pick up some more information on what I should do, that's a problem.

I ain't gonna say I fully disagree with you or agree with you, Melissa, right?

I'm gonna say this, I think we are in a generation and living

Maybe Shannon

in a

society where we have people that are 18 years old.

You know, and that's

where they

spend a lot of their time.

And I do think it is our duty to reach people where they at.

Now, as an individual, it is our duty to do more cross-referencing and not just rely on

the first thing that we get from a TikTok.

But what I do believe in is TikTok is a good way to get people exposed to the process of and the importance of participating in elections, right?

But just relying on it for your only source?

Sure, I can agree with you that that gets dangerous,

Maybe Shannon

but

I will say this as well.

It is still very dangerous to rely on our newspapers and our medias that we have as our only source because they too are controlled by billionaires and push narratives that still misguide our people to this day.

So the logic, I

think where I'm going with this is the logic of it.

On TikTok, we're listening to Bumble.

The bus driver

the

information when there is a journalist

You're listening to The Lunch Break with Ray Nitty and maybe Shannon where every discussion is on the menu on the award-winning 101.7 The Truth.

What's up what's up

Maybe Shannon

you guys are listening to the award-winning 101.7 The Truth.

This is the lunch break with Ray Nitty and maybe Shannie.

What do you do?

How you doing over there, Ray?

I want to know what you got to say about this, because I'm doing good.

I'm doing good.

Yeah.

833-212-1017.

That is the number to dial.

If you want to join the conversation, 833-212-1017 is the number to dial.

Shannie, please go ahead and recenter the conversation, because I could tell this one is going to take us there.

Maybe Shannon

So we just got a caller that called in by the name of Melissa and she mentioned that she Feels like it's not smart that people are getting news and information from tiktok and it should just be a fun app that comes after the conversation that we had about The no Kings rally and their social media is being disrupted

And met us saying, oh, we thought it was bot activity.

So we disrupted it.

And it was disrupted at the height of their mobilization.

So back to the call we took before break where Melissa said that she felt, you know, that social media should not be looked at as a form of information.

People should be using the news and the newspaper.

First and foremost, do you realize that news channels have TikTok?

And I

feel like it's

Maybe Shannon

propaganda that a lot of older people think that TikTok is just for dancing.

I'm just, when you're on TikTok, you're just watching people dance and this random person is giving people information.

No, news channels have TikTok.

News channels have social media now because you want to meet the people where they are at, right?

And then you also have it where at this point, how many people do you know receive the newspaper?

So you's telling us to read a newspaper.

Where do I find a newspaper?

Most newspapers are now mobile, right?

And that is where we find our information.

I'm pretty sure the journal Sentinel has a TikTok.

You even have news anchors now like TJ shout out to him that are

Putting their news on TikTok and putting their news on Instagram in short form ways to get people that are younger to pay attention.

And so when people get their information from TikTok or social media, it's insane to think it's wrong when it's the same information you're getting from the news, just in short form.

Okay?

Maybe Shannon

And then, for you to want people to watch Fox News and these other outlets that we know have been bought and are being used by billionaires to push certain propaganda and agendas, it should be now more than ever that you want to hear from Joe the Bus Driver, Billy the Bulldozer, I don't know, whoever else you think.

Don't deserve a platform I want to hear from the regular people out there and that's why again I brought up that it was upsetting to a lot of people to hear that tiktok was being taken down or banned until it was bought by an American because tiktok was one of those places again where we felt like this isn't being censored this isn't being filtered out so I can hear the real I can hear what's going on with other people and like they said you have some organization is big as the no kings rally

that are able to mobilize hundreds of thousands of people throughout the states because of social media.

And people know about this stuff because of social media, right?

So, yeah, I completely disagree.

I understand Ray saying he kind of agree, but I don't agree at all.

It's insane to be like, oh, y'all shouldn't be listening to the everyday person that is on the ground experiencing life and you should listen to Fox six or any other news outlet that we know

is being persuaded by billionaires.

I want to hear from the everyday person.

I want to hear from the person that's driving the bus.

I want to hear from the person in these neighborhoods.

I want to hear that first hand account of things.

I don't want to hear it filtered down.

And then if I do so happen to be on the news, at least I'm on the news on TikTok because it's right there in the palm of my hands.

I don't have to go sit down in front of a TV.

at six o'clock to find out my news when it's literally on my hand.

What's the difference if that's the case you're making?

Don't make sense.

But that's all I wanted to say.

There's a little input there.

Looks like we got a bunch of comments in the chat.

I didn't say that.

Should we catch up on that?

I agree with her first, because you know, you like that.

I said, I could understand where she's coming from to an extent.

And I said,

People should not just use TikTok alone

I said I think people should verify because there is a lot of misinformation that comes out on social media platforms that people.

Maybe Shannon

But that's the beauty of it.

Hold on.

Hold on.

You can go on the news social media

Maybe Shannon

platform and

you can talk to Joe the bus driver.

You could you could call it beauty but it's still dangerous if you have a bunch of people online that is putting out false information.

That's why I said it is it is I agree to an extent.

because people will just go and search some random thing and they wouldn't even go to a verified source.

They would be putting up these reels and all these other things from like meme accounts.

And now they're passing these false things off as true.

All I'm saying is verify, trust, but verify is nothing wrong with that.

And that's really all I'm saying.

I'm saying, don't just take the first thing.

How many times, Shannon, have we been like, is this real?

And before we talk about a story that we get on.

But

Maybe Shannon

that's what any smart person would do.

And that's all I'm saying.

Maybe Shannon

That's what any smart person.

But that's what you should do with the news.

That's what you should do with the newspaper.

But we do know a lot of people don't do that.

A lot of people don't do that.

Let's be honest.

A lot of people don't verify.

But they don't do it with the

Maybe Shannon

news or the newspaper.

We got somebody

telling us to

Maybe Shannon

watch the news and read the newspaper

because

Maybe Shannon

TikTok is not

real.

Maybe Shannon

But how many people

take the news and be like, this

Maybe Shannon

is the real stuff.

And that's why I said, even the news and the newspapers are controlled by billionaires and they force narratives that aren't 100% true.

So I'm just saying, trust and verify, not just TikTok, but the news as well.

Like all societies try to control their civilization by showing them what they want us to see.

And yes, you are 100% correct.

They shut TikTok down because they didn't want a Chinese company owning TikTok.

And they wrapped it around, oh, we're gonna have Chinese people using our data to target us even more.

Targeting far as elections and so forth.

We saw Facebook had that whole situation where they were elevating certain certain radical reels and so forth and misinformation reels and things that I think you had a lawsuit for that.

So yeah, I agree with you a hundred percent.

I'm just saying in in life, we need to be more, you know, cautious, selective,

diligent about the information that we are consuming on these social platforms and in our media.

That's all I'm saying.

That's all I'm saying.

Maybe Shannon

Yeah, man.

I just, like I said, it's just one of those things where I feel like.

a certain portion of the older generation doesn't even realize exactly what TikTok was because before I got on TikTok, I was like, oh, I'm not gonna be on a social media dancing.

And then you realize

that

Maybe Shannon

it's bigger than just that.

And it's unfortunate that some people take, you know, like are educated on these things and then they spread this false narrative.

Like, oh, it's just a bunch of random people giving their input and don't realize what their,

What they're missing out on and like I said,

it's

Maybe Shannon

just think

of how many times and solve the crime before the damn police So many

Maybe Shannon

times

so many it's actually Yeah,

Maybe Shannon

and then the police step in like okay, well now that y'all got it all figured out Let's go arrest some people excuse me.

So so it's like

Propaganda even I would say for people to think that TikTok is just a bunch of nobodies with dancing and then all of a sudden giving an opinion about stuff.

That's what I would argue.

We do have a few comments.

Folks need to verify first before repeating it.

I see a lot of folks spreading info when a research.

When I research for myself, it'd be inaccurate.

So fact-checking is key.

And like we were saying, I do believe fact-checking for anybody is gonna be key.

No matter...

What type of research you're gonna do you want to cross reference the information that you've received across multiple platforms, right?

And that's why I said the beauty of it is if I go on tiktok CNN's got a page Fox six has a page homegirl from across the street doing her boots on the ground Reporting has a page so I can take multiple accounts and I can cross reference it the journal Sentinel got a page.

You know I'm saying so it's not like oh, I'm just

Watching tiktok and seeing people dance and tell me to do something.

I'm gonna do it if you're smart You're gonna cross reference it across multiple platforms right when you when you was in school to tell you Look it up on the internet grab a book.

Look it up and now we have this thing called the internet and tiktok and social media You can read through the comments and see what people are saying.

You can talk to real life people So like I said, it's just unfortunate that some people refuse to see um

the ways that these things can be used to our advantage.

I feel like, do we have time to read some comments or should

we do

Maybe Shannon

this after the break?

You got some.

All right, so let's get into some of these comments.

Get all the weed men to vote, start there.

But that takes meeting people where they at.

So maybe they on Instagram, maybe they on TikTok, maybe you gotta go to the hood, or you gonna continue talking to the same people that are already voting.

Stan said, I disagree totally with the sister.

I've seen news on TikTok first before I saw it on the media networks, which is true.

I've seen that a million times where it's like, oh, it's not verified yet.

But then they using TikTok reels on the news.

All right.

But any who?

Basically, the sister is saying, why can't we go back to the old days?

My mom be on social media.

Social media is outlet.

My million.

million millions to vent Let's yeah, so maybe Shannon no lies detected We also have and when it comes to news organizations on TV they often have to report things in a biased way That is true.

We we have so much information on bias used by these these news networks TDR network for one for my favorite show to watch while I'm at work.

I know that's right.

Thank you for checking in with us

I only watch the news for the weather.

Real, and I got that app on my phone, so I ain't turned on the news at all, actually.

All right, y'all.

We don't get back into these comments after these messages because we got a whole lot more to go through.

Don't go anywhere.

You're listening to the award-winning 101.7 The Truth.

Hey, cousin.

Don't go anywhere.

The lunch break with the Rayonetti and maybe Shannon will be right back on the award-winning 101.7 The Truth.

You're listening to The Lunch Break with Ray Nitty and Maybe Shannon, where every discussion is on the menu, on the award-winning 1017 The

Truth.

What up y'all

welcome back to the award-winning 1017 the truth live from the American family and sharing studios Hey, how do they do it?

I'm gonna hit my face on this microphone

I don't know how to do that there.

I'm a little young people do.

Hey, hey, hey.

Welcome back, y'all.

I'm

Maybe Shannon

here trying to do it.

I can't

do it.

This is a lunch break.

Ray Nitty, maybe Shannon, DJ, Brother Z, holding us down with the production and sound.

That's right, y'all.

It is lunchtime.

We eating the day, man.

We eating the day.

I got something else on the menu for him, man.

Man, let's get back into this menu So we talking about a 3 3 2 1 2 10 17 that's the number to die a 3 3 2 1 2 10 17 that is the number to die Melissa call us back man You could always call back cuz sometimes when the conversation go a little long we got to progress it cuz you know we got a Time frame that we got to keep things on so never never I want you all to think that is disrespectful that your call got cut short.

We just got

rules and regulations that we gotta abide by.

I mean, some

of you do get hung up on them.

Some folks do.

Some folks do get hung

up on them.

We

just had to go to break.

But we had to go to break, Melissa.

It was nothing, you know, mal or whatever.

And I said, I agree with you to an extent.

Because trust me, I had my chance.

And I just

put you back on air.

Yeah.

So call us back if you got some more you'd like to add.

But I do think this is an interesting conversation because what we're seeing is

I don't even want to say divide, but to miss the disconnect in how people consume information.

You do have a generation that is traditional.

Hey, I want my newspaper.

I want my CNN.

I want my Fox.

I want my Fox News, whatever the case may be.

But then you do have a generation that has a mixture of, you know, that in between.

OK, I'm still going to look at Fox.

I'm still going.

And I think that's me.

I still going to look at the CNNs or the Fox News and I'm still going to be on TikTok, but I'm going to verify.

These are online things.

There's so much information we get before it even hits the news.

And I just challenge Millison and listener, you know, to to be cautious because it.

If we believe that media that was printed.

And whether it was a newspaper or TV, those folks can't even share their real opinions.

They have an editor, somebody that says, oh, no, we can't put this out.

We can't let this go out.

So they shaped the narrative in the newspaper to what they wanted to form, what they want people to form around.

Maybe Shannon

I just want to add as well, it's especially dangerous to the black communities because we've seen how history has actually exposed how the news has presented certain things that come to us,

right?

Maybe Shannon

And how it has used propaganda to make us look like the aggressor or word things a certain way when it comes to our black and brown community.

But, you know, I'm going to let you continue, right?

I

got some

Maybe Shannon

other

things.

No, you're good.

You're good.

You good.

We going to get into it here because I think it's very important, especially in today's day.

So I give another example.

Let's take our governor's race, for instance, right?

The ads, the attack ads, right?

That's the media outlet or the interviews that we see on TV.

Those are media outlets.

But I can sit here and tell you, OK, I know these ads are false about somebody that I know personally.

So am I supposed to not believe the person I know personally and say oh, you know They say he's too radical for Wisconsin the news told

Maybe Shannon

me even though you've seen the work he's done But the news the people on the commercial said it that sound crazier than somebody on tiktok if you ask me

so we have to understand that that's what media is it's to get us to It is to invoke certain thoughts or actions in humans and

There's supposed to be a level of educating, you know, but I think it has gotten out of hand to where it's more so about influencing people to a certain side or a certain action as we stated, versus just the educational part of it.

So that's why I say, you know, we got to verify both journalism, traditional media and our tick tock.

Yeah.

If it's just Bob the Builder, yeah, you might not want to just lead in, you know what I'm saying?

And be like, I'm taking everything this person has said.

But if you do some research, you might be like, oh, this person is talking on something that they researched versus a media outlet.

Maybe Shannon

Or even

the boardroom is just sending them the whole

Maybe Shannon

script.

Exactly.

Or even sometimes it's something that

It's not that they research is something that they are experiencing something they are out here on the ground in real life

Going

Maybe Shannon

through and then it's okay to be like, you know what I want to research what these people talking about We hear that all the time where people come to tiktok like yo this happened to my family This is happening in my community something needs to change and then people look into it and like you said they solve crimes They come together and they figure out how we gonna make this lifestyle better for a person so it's not just

taking somebody's word for it and running with it.

Obviously, with any type of information you get, you don't want to only use one source of information.

Middle school research will tell you that.

But I also want to acknowledge a text message that came through that said, TikTok will not help you out of poverty.

It will not educate your kids.

So when you need street lights or garbage picked up, call TikTok.

That's insane to say.

And then it says, so just seeing your kids to social media instead of school, so informing.

Do you know how much change has happened to the teaching of black history in schools?

And a lot of people have to get their information elsewhere outside of schools.

Do you know, matter of fact, let me pull up some of the stuff that's being taught right now.

They actually are taught teaching Florida slavery lessons standards adopted in 2023.

real recent actually included instruction that enslaved people develop skills that could help be applied for their personal benefit.

Go to that school, right?

And we can keep going on the list of things that are being taught inside schools.

I've seen white people say that they weren't even taught very much about black history and didn't even realize how deep things were in their schools.

So I guess that's the information you want to be taught, huh?

That don't make sense.

And then you say Instagram, social media, blah, blah, blah won't help you out of poverty.

It's done great for my life.

Social media has done me very well, actually.

And I can speak for a lot of social media influencers that will say it's changed the trajectory of their lives.

So you're speaking very misinformed and then trying to push you should be watching the news like this is that's the holy grail of information.

That's insane.

But you know.

And just to just to stay on that comment to you know Tiktok will not help you out of poverty.

I'm sure it does help some out of poverty actually

multiple people

It has changed plenty of people's lives and businesses and businesses and created generational wealth for plenty When you say

When you need some street lights or your garbage picked up Call tick tock.

I've seen people respond faster To somebody standing in a pothole knee deep and putting it on social media and it got fixed overnight And it got fixed overnight

Maybe Shannon

Because more eyes and more pressure is on them

so

It has its benefits, but I get it though.

It's just a certain generation that just rejects it, you know.

So hopefully we can get some more time.

But to make

Maybe Shannon

people that use it, but I just feel like to try to make people that use it sound like they're just airheads and don't know anything is actually insane.

To

Maybe Shannon

try to devalue what people are saying and what people are living because you're against social media or whatever you, whatever you're against is actually insane.

You know, I mean there is value in social media there is value in being able to mobilize hundreds of thousands of people with the click of a button

Yeah, yeah, absolutely absolutely

When we come back, y'all, when we come back, we'll get back in more with this conversation.

We got Melissa back on the line, y'all, so we'll talk a little bit

more.

Don't go anywhere!

You're listening to The Lunch Break with Ray Nitty and maybe Shannon, where every discussion is on the menu, on the award-winning 1017 The

Truth.

What's up?

What's up?

You

Maybe Shannon

guys are listening to the award winning 101.7 the truth.

And we're talking about, I guess the conversation has evolved into where we get our information and I guess the value of where we're getting that information.

And we have Melissa on the line.

Hey, Melissa.

Hey, hey.

I'm not saying that y'all can't get your information from there, but I am going to say this.

You can get your information from TikTok, from social media, from anywhere else.

But my question is, where is that going to elevate you?

It does not.

You might make money.

You people, I'm not talking about them.

I'm talking about Marianne Wilson.

Down the street with nine kids, and she lives in the TikTok, and her ass went and voted for Donald Trump.

Because there was so many people on social media telling them to vote for Trump.

You cannot, it would be different if we had educated people.

A lot of these people out here aren't educated.

They see it on TikTok, they try to do it in real life.

That's why they run from the police.

That's all I'm saying.

I'm not saying that you can't learn from there.

You can't get something from there.

But at the end, when you're working with people with low intelligence, it is harmful to the community.

Because a lot of black people don't vote now because they read it on TikTok.

I saw it on TikTok.

I can't go vote.

Come on.

Come on.

And if you really want your kids to learn and do better,

Read a book to him at night.

Try that.

Just because you think MPSA is doing good or anything else, TikTok is not for Facebook.

None of that is going to teach you the things you need at the end of the day.

If it did, Donald Trump would not be in office.

Not for people,

Maybe Shannon

not for him.

I do think it is important with any form of research that you're doing that you double and triple check it, right?

And that's kind of what we were talking about.

I do feel like depending on what side of TikTok you're on is information you're gonna get.

It just depends what you're watching.

If somebody is watching Fox News all day, I think we know what their thought process would be like.

So I don't

think

Maybe Shannon

it's only something that has something to do with TikTok.

I think that's media in general.

And it also

Like you said, we need to teach our kids media literacy.

We need to teach them how to research things the right way.

But that's going to happen with or without TikTok.

You'll get somebody that's in a rural part of wherever and only have information from that community.

But I feel like social media gives them that.

It gives them that.

way out to look outside of their community.

If they want to, any information that you're going to get, you can find other information if you want to, right?

If I'm on TikTok

all

Maybe Shannon

day, I can see outside of what's going on around me, at least if I want to, right?

But if you don't want that information, you're not going to get it.

And I do think the, I think the point you're making is that we make sure that we're teaching our kids to not just trust.

every source of information we're getting into cross-reference things and to look at other other outlets, which makes sense.

And not just the kids, because it's growing people who do it too.

And you use TikTok also, isn't that what they were using to do these takeovers?

All of that.

So you want to tell me somebody reading about a takeover is then going to say, oh, I mean, if this about David Crowley, let me go investigate that.

No, we

Maybe Shannon

don't

even have

Maybe Shannon

critical

thinking in our kids.

I don't know if they was only using

Maybe Shannon

Tik Tok

or how to takeovers.

Maybe Shannon

Yeah.

That's what I will say about takingovers.

It's social media in general, but what also was used for social media is getting people together for protests.

That's kind of where we started this conversation at where hundreds of thousands of people were being alerted to the no-kings protests across the states.

So

Maybe Shannon

wherever there's gonna be bad, there's gonna be good too.

If it was the news, right, but even if it was somebody creating flyers back in the day like, hey, come to my party.

You know what I'm saying?

You can't say y'all can't use flyers.

to do one thing, people

are going

Maybe Shannon

to use it for all things that's going to get people together.

So I can't blame social media for all the bad in the world because it's done so much good as well.

Let me ask you.

I think it has been used to mobilize people when it comes to voting and when it comes to protests and when it comes to, you know, being able to gather communities together that have like mind, like minded interests, you know.

Let me let me ask you on this question on Milisand, right?

Would you say that you?

You trusted you you would trust traditional media more.

Do you think that traditional media is equally if not even more controlled than on social media?

Because they're getting the stories to feed to us

Whether it's a Fox six or CNN, each one has a side that they push and then they formulate the narrative and feed it to us.

So how do we trust what these media outlets are doing right now, even whether it's a newspaper or an actual advertisement or CNN company, knowing that it is owned by billionaires who are trying to disenfranchise black black and brown

people.

You need to do your due diligence to check.

You didn't just follow up behind Martin Luther King.

Martin Luther King had to prove himself.

Y'all just require somebody to come and hear and say what you want to hear.

And that's not good.

You need to hear everything.

A lot of people from the truth say and live

told people to vote for Donald Trump.

Look at him.

They wouldn't vote for Donald Trump, because they didn't go listen to nobody else.

You couldn't tell people Donald Trump was going to do exactly what he's doing now, because y'all didn't want to be with the Democrats.

Y'all, the Democrats, you just was making up all kinds of stuff.

And now look where we are.

You get yourself in bad situations, and then you want help.

But the help

you should have gotten with going downtown and reading.

You're saying people need to investigate and do their due diligence.

Half of these people don't read.

You need to read.

If you get a poll right now, how many people read to their kids at night, it's going to be long.

So then you're going to intentionally put in

That's some social media you got one day over here saying this and saying that they really couldn't use now.

That's why they're on the trunk of the office Hmm But you can't and I get it I get social media for y'all is that thing my kids.

They love it.

It's that thing But what I'm saying to you is at the end of the day if you want a job a High price job

You're going to need to know the news and the regular media too.

And black history, if you want to know it, teach it to your kids.

Black history is not what they're going to need to be in those high class board rooms.

Maybe Shannon

I disagree because I feel like history is going to repeat itself if we don't know our history and that's probably more so why we're in the position we're in if we don't learn our history we are we are destined to repeat our past so as far as that goes I do think black history is very important to be taught and then when you talk about

Finding out media.

Yeah reading is very important media literacy is very important and I think that's where we agree But I think the first time you called in you did mention that it's important to watch the news But as we mentioned before these news stations are owned in basically puppeteer by billionaires that are going to give you what they want to hear a lot of these media outlets are run operated and controlled

And I do think as far as social media goes.

Yeah, some social media does Sometimes it goes off the rails when you give people a little too much access in a little too much wiggle room to say whatever sure but at the same time I feel like it's less likely to be controlled certain platforms that's all I'm gonna say because

As far as like, when you look at the news and stuff like, like Ray said, there's media rooms, there's editors, there's,

nope, we ain't

Maybe Shannon

putting that out.

This is how you word things where they're using certain, they're using certain tricks to make us think things are one way when it's another.

But when you go on Instagram, when you go on social media, when you go on TikTok, people can give it to you raw.

Like they can give it to you exactly how they feel.

You can find different communities.

Are people consuming Trump's rhetoric?

Sure.

But there's also platforms where people are pushing out the left wing stuff opposed to right wing.

So it depends what you're watching.

We don't say it depends.

It depends what you're what you're watching because I don't see much Trump.

I don't see much pro Trump stuff on my timeline at all.

If anything is gonna inform me about what they're doing and things that are happening like I said with the no Kings rally I would have never known that if I hadn't looked up what happened this week and what's going on this weekend and then went to tiktok and saw different reports of what's happening That was not heavy on my timeline So you get what you're looking for just like if I went down to the library and only went to a section for Republicans Yeah, you gonna find exactly what you're looking for and you can't make me turn the other way if I don't want to

Being in a library ain't gonna make me no different.

So sounds like we got another caller on the line.

How you doing?

Oh

I'm doing I'm doing fabulous what I would tell everybody any information they give you always use logic and always look at it

from both sides, because when you use logic, you won't look stupid and it won't sound stupid.

But when you look at the Trump rhetoric, we have to be honest, a lot of those people are slow.

They on the spectrum, they retarded, they eat dope, and they looking for a goddamn check.

Because if you use basic logic, everything that's told to you is what you to make the billionaires the money.

but they will put it on somebody else or put it on black folks.

But if you sit back and get your little nip nip, you will see all the bull sugar honey ice tea that's going.

Another thing when they tell you something, you have the Guardian.

You have Snopes.

if you want to double check the information and you shall always educate yourself because when you are a lifelong learner you are always no formula that other people don't.

So you can bring a person from the mountains who thinks they can use a bone but what is that bone going to do when it comes to them crossing the road?

You can't use a bone to cross the road.

Another thing that we as black people need to understand

when you are dealing with the Trumpism they would like to mentally disarm you because when they mentally disarm you they can set you up to be a snake because a lot of them was raised by snakes, bastards, greasers, dope things okay so when they sex you up they use a systematic plan that they've been planning for years to pick you out so question everything and use logic and for those who don't vote

Hey, let them sit there with a needle and you share needles, get high on dope, lose your middle teeth, and maybe you would get that $13,000 check.

But it ain't coming.

So question, everything, have a good day.

And for those who don't like you, let them rock.

And I wanted to share something with you too, Shannon and Nitty.

A lot of this stuff that's going on with us, they really mad at black people because a lot of the races like penis.

And a lot of them are accustomed to seeing their mama get her ass beat growing up.

That's why they stayed

in the

household.

Because the only reason that daddy was in the household, in the household, because he was too busy putting his two fingers up his son's ass.

But he'll say if the transgender is in the school, but they still popping up for trying to fill booty hole and thinking they're going to get a 13 year old boy named a 13 year old boy named Sam Pregnant.

But they'll tell you you going to hell.

Have a great day, everybody.

Take care.

Bye.

Bye.

All right.

Happy Monday.

Don't go anywhere, y'all.

When we come back after these messages, we will.

You know, sort all of that out right

here.

Really?

It's gonna be a big weekend in the city, man.

You DJing somewhere this weekend, brother Z?

Okay, Nashville North on Saturday.

I'm assuming that's somewhere on North.

No, it's on Brady Street.

Ah!

It's just North.

Does that dude have a Nashville South?

No?

I don't know.

Alright.

I thought it was a franchise.

That's what I'm gonna bring the

Maybe Shannon

people together.

Don't post it on social media.

I'm gonna

get it to him there, Shannon.

Maybe Shannon

I don't know.

Maybe one of our colleagues got the answer.

You better get this.

Patty, Patty, Monday.

Maybe Shannon

Jesus.

Man, listen, I'm just, I'm just here.

All right.

Man.

But yes, y'all, we having an amazing conversation today.

We was talking about how we consume media.

How do we trust what's going on in these elections?

But media has been probably one of the most dangerous things for our community because, especially our more seasoned generation, because so much of their media came from folks that was literally controlling what media put out.

So I dare to even say, um, the media that we are consuming on social media, although it could be a lot more diluted with false information, right?

There's something beautiful about having instant access to real media and real news and real outlets.

For instance, some of the folks speaking out about the truth in the Nolan Wales case.

That we know traditional media from that state or city would probably not allow to go out why because they got the judges They got a judge crew.

They got all of this.

I can only imagine Somebody on the judge crew got a relationship with somebody in the media department.

They'd be like don't run this out.

Oh, I got one even better for you.

I Give you a traditional media piece the journal Sentinel

But I knew see I'm smarter than the average bear.

I knew what they was trying to do when I ran for office They tried to do a hit piece on me, but in that piece I dropped a little carrots and caviar So it's like let me see where the rat take the cheese back to and Trust me the rat always takes the cheese home So y'all don't notice

I know each and every crumb of cheese I left in that Journal Sentinel interview, it went right back to where I needed to go to.

So when I shake your hand, don't worry, I won't be shaking a lot more hands this year, as you could tell.

But when I do shake it and I squeeze it hard, OK?

Just know that I'm on to you.

You're squeezing

Maybe Shannon

people hands, and I'm petty.

Let's go talk

to Al from Sherman

Maybe Shannon

Park man Al

Sherman Park, how you doing cuz you live on the lunch break?

Hello

everyone.

I'm

doing well.

I do think that social media and hearing everyone's opinion can cause confusion if you're not thinking analytical person.

I think like a lot of this billionaire hate out there is people in their feelings and that really thinking about the system because you made the billionaires.

They made a product that you either like they're needed, right?

the Facebook, the Google, the Amazon, Tesla.

You don't have to buy those products.

You can make your own car if you really had the fortitude, right?

You can go out and make your own clothes and grow your own food, but it's easier just to go out and buy it.

You could make yourself self-employed.

You don't have to work for those people.

but it's easier to take a job that somebody gives you than to build a whole company and make revenue stream for yourself, right?

So these billionaires do do us a service in moving our country forward and giving us new industries to employ other people.

Would

you agree that this service that you're saying that they did to move us or this country forward, would you say that it was rooted in greed for them?

because these products that you're talking about, they know, hear me out, knowingly they knew that they were addictive products, whether it was social media.

So you put an addictive product out there and then you program that product to feed people things that you want them to see or consume things you want them to consume, or vote a way you want them to vote, or hate a certain group of individuals the way you want them to hate them, i.e.

billionaires telling people that Venezuelans was eating cats and dogs.

So would you not say that you know You you have agency and how you use those tools Do you believe social media is addictive do you believe social media is addictive?

It can be addictive like all other addictions eating

You know,

you

have a natural need to eat, but you can also...

And it's also not... It's not that easy to have control over your own agency when you are an addict, correct?

You need certain support to get off of these addictive things, correct?

Yeah, it is a free country though.

We we can't go ahead and just limit everything because some people become

I'm not I'm not limited everything But don't give a pass to the billionaires if you go say they created a world for us where we could push us forward Acknowledge the world that they're limiting us and and crippling us as well

Well, you do have the ability to basically Advocate that your congressperson or representative put some some limits on me things but you have a hand in

buying these products.

These products also create companies that you can invest in, which pay grandma's retirement, which build up the reserves to pay insurance

planes when they come due.

I didn't eat last night.

I got five kids and I didn't eat last night and I'm working two jobs and I don't even have any type of money for retirement for my grandmother.

So go

work

at the

work in a restaurant go work in a restaurant.

You have plenty of food to take home

Wow, that's your thought process I

Maybe Shannon

can tell you that restaurants don't go like that when I worked at McDonald's you can get fired throwing away like taking waste like Throw

it

Maybe Shannon

away.

That's why I was just like you can't do that

can literally go to jail trying to feed the homeless

Like think about it

Billionaires have created a world where it is illegal to feed homeless people The same billionaires that that like I mean I'm kind of baffled actually I don't even know Shannon.

I don't know what to say.

I think I'm done for today You

Maybe Shannon

personally think these same billionaires.

I think these same billionaires that have All this access all this knowledge of what their products are doing

They have some type of debt to the community to limit or to tell us what, like, what these products can do to us.

And also, they also, if they have the technology to make this stuff happen, they also have the technology to limit things.

And they also have the technology to make sure that it's not detrimental to us.

Man,

we're gonna be back tomorrow at the

Maybe Shannon

same time, same place.

Appreciate the

call.

Call us

Maybe Shannon

tomorrow.

It was a beautiful show.

The first aisle I do feel like one thing we can acknowledge is do your research.
