several of their artists then withdrew from the tour in solidarity with him.
And if I'm not mistaken, I think all of his opening acts actually said we're good.
So I don't even think Eddie got no opening acts right now.

During his performance, Macklemore shouted free Palestine.

However, some Jewish and Israeli audience members said they felt blindsided and unwelcome.
Several advocacy organizations accused Macklemore of turning Ed Sheeran's concert into a one-sided political demonstration.
The Israeli-American Council started a petition calling for his removal, arguing that the concertgoers purchased a ticket for entertainment, not a political rally.
Then billionaire New England Patriots owner Rob Kraft became involved.
This is where things start taking a turn.

Kraft confirmed that his organization would not allow Macklemore to perform there.
He cited that Macklemore's recent presentation along with what Kraft described as a broader history of anti-Semitic rhetoric and imagery.
That history includes controversial 2014 costume that critics said resembled an anti-Semitic Jewish caricature.
Macklemore apologized at the time and denied that portraying a Jewish person was his intention.
Krav said that the latest decision was not meant to dismiss the suffering of innocent Palestinians or prevent anyone for advocating for them But he argued that advocacy for Palestinians should not come at the expense of the Jewish community or ignore Hamas Hamas's

He said that he spent weeks trying to speak to venues attempting to find a compromise and the promoters would not change their position.
Sharon explained that Macklemore's agreement was with the promoter, yeah, not directly with him.
He also said that he would not cancel the entire tour and disappoint hundreds of thousands of his fans or eliminate work for crew members and musicians who rely on the two tours for their livelihood.
Sharon said that he respects Macklemore for standing firmly behind his beliefs, but Sharon has chosen a different approach.
His concerts, he said, are intended to bring people from different backgrounds together, not political forums or not become political forums.
Sharon said remaining publicly quiet does not mean he is indifferent or complicit.
His position is that there can be multiple approaches toward the same goal of peace.
But the controversy does not end there.
Billie Eilish's brother, longtime musical collaborator, he announced that he would no longer participate on his scheduled dates.
The singer Aaron Rowe, the band Lucas Grimm, Irish Folk Group,
Bo Bo Bioga also withdrew.
So yeah, basically everybody's withdrawing.
And I guess the larger conversation is does the artist have the right to use the stage to speak about injustice even when the audience came to hear the music and may disagree?

And I also saw the images of what happened after that.
And what's still currently happening.

and what was happening in Africa.
But he also made sure we learned about the Holocaust that happened and how to make sure we are empathetic with what happened at the Holocaust.
We had to watch Schindler's List.

I've heard of it, but I never

And it was talking about this guy.
He was trying to save as many people as he could, as many people as it could.
I think if I could remember the story correctly, he had a man of decent money and spent all that he had.

So Chris Brown is once again.
at the center of a very familiar debate.
Can we celebrate someone's talent and cultural impact without appearing to excuse the harm connected to their past?
Over the weekend, Chris Brown and Usher were performing at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, when Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett and Texas State Representative Venton Jones joined them on stage.
Crockett presented the artist with a recognized
with recognition entered into the congressional record.
Lord, I'm tongue tied today y'all.
While Jones presented Chris Brown with an official recognition from the state of Texas honoring his impact on music and entertainment.
Crockett told the crowd, we are experiencing black joy at the highest level.
And I wanted to make sure we document that.
at the congressional level.
She also called Chris Brown a real one.
Brown is unquestionably one of the most successful and influential R&B performers of his generation.
His singing, dancing, longevity, and impact on the younger entertainers are hard to deny.
But critics immediately questioned whether the government officials should be using prestige of their offices to formally honor him.
That criticism centers largely on Brown's history of violence, especially his 2009 felony assault of Rihanna, to which he pleaded guilty.
Brown continued building a massive career since then, but the controversy has never completely disappeared.
For many domestic violence survivors and advocates, this was not simply a concert recognizing an artist.
It was elected officials placing the government's official stamp of approval onto him.
Now, Texas Representative Venton Jones has apologized since while appearing on the Don Lemon show, Jones said, I want to offer my apology to black women, to women and to anyone who has experienced domestic violence.
Jones said that it was not his intention to reopen or intensify the trauma surrounding domestic violence.
He also explained that he and Crockett had been brought to the concert as part of an effort to engage and mobilize voters ahead of the November election.
He argued that the short viral clip did not show the complete purpose behind their appearance, but that explanation creates another question.
If you're trying to mobilize voters, especially black women, shouldn't you be especially careful about who you publicly honor?
And was the apology sincere?
Right?
Because Chris Brown believes it was political, which that's kind of what, what Benton said.
He responded on Instagram by saying the representatives approached him with this recognition.
He said, not the other way around.
Brown said he
He had not asked to be honored because he suspected this might happen.
Brown accused Jones of tap dancing and apologizing because he did not want to lose votes or support.
He then told politicians to leave him alone and allow him to focus on the fans who paid to support him.
Brown took a warmer tone toward Jasmine Crockett.
He thanked her and apologized for any backlash she received because of the recognition as the

So as far as latest reporting, Crockett has not publicly apologized or withdrawn, right?
So I guess that's where this gets complicated because people can believe that Chris Brown is extraordinarily talented as a performer while believing that talent does not automatically entitles someone to be, you know, officially honored by the government.
Right, this was not a question about whether Brown should be allowed to perform or release music or even have fans People purchased tickets to see him so they have the right to support him the question is whether the elected official should formally honor him using the authority and symbolism of the public office so
There's a difference between forgiveness and celebration.
Someone can believe that people deserve opportunities to change and still decide that a formal government recognition is unnecessary.
Accountability does not always mean a person can never work again, but moving forward does not secure a society to require society to erase what happened either.
So, should a person's talent and cultural influence
be considered separately from the history of violence.

So a former corrections officer named Mary Moore is going viral on tiktok after explaining how a relationship with an adult inmate Changed the entire course of her life.

Morris says she is now a registered sex offender and is struggling with homelessness because of the restrictions connected to the status that makes it extremely difficult to find an approved place to live.
But this story has created a complicated debate about consent, professional power, and whether consequences of a crime can become permanent even after someone has completed the sentence imposed by the courts.
So, first, this is what we can verify, right?
September 2022, Mary Moore was a 21-year-old corrections officer working inside of a Clayton County jail in Georgia.
Investigators allege.

So investigators alleged that more engaged in sexual activity with an adult detainee in the doorway of a control tower inside one of the jail's housing units.

She was arrested and charged with sexual assault by law enforcement involving someone in custody.
She was released on a $5,000 bond.
Now more is telling her side of the story on TikTok.
According to her, the inmate was an adult.
Their relationship was consensual.
She did not initially understand that the law could classify what happened as a sexual offense.

First and foremost, a lot of the comments in like, most people know, you can't do that.

Moore says the case resulting in her being placed on Georgia's sex offender registry.
She also says that this restriction associated her with the status had,
with a status that has made it extremely difficult to find secure housing.
it's just crazy that she act like she ain't know that this could happen.

that you cannot have a relationship with inmates or it can result in charges like this.

So I guess people are asking how does it make her a sex offender under Georgia law an inmate cannot legally consent to sexual activity with an employee of the correctional facility Holding that person the law specifically says that Consent is not a defense that rule exists
because a corrections officer has authority over an inmates daily life, including movement, safety, discipline, and access to basic services.
That's literally what I just said.
They literally hold the power to so much stuff that human, like regular people out in the free world take for granted.

How freaked out must you be to even put your job jeopardize a job of any capacity?
But then you have a job like this you you know like from the comments that I was reading when you do these orientations when you accept these jobs they make it so clear that this is against the law that there will be repercussions if you do this

You decided that now you in the car crying because she can't find housing.

She can't live in certain areas because they're in school zones and the law don't really classify what type of predator you are.
So you can't be around kids, you can't be around schools, you can't be around day cares.
So it's hard to find somewhere for her to live.

Devon windburst Milwaukee County jail officer 29 arrested May 29 of 2023 charged early June 2023 with attempted sexual assault and given a female inmate his cell phone.
He was doing a whole lot.

He went into the woman's cell 30 times in one shift.
Put money in her jail account.
He pleaded guilty.
That was his baby.
February 12, 2024 to fourth degree sexual assault plus two felony counts of delivering contraband.
Sentencing was set for March.
22nd, 2024.
He was hired July 22nd, still on probation, fired after arrest.
Gilberto Fernandez Rosa, Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office 25.
He was with the office since 2018, allegation surface January 27th, 2021, charged February 3rd, 2021, with two counts of second degree sexual assault and one fourth degree.
After months of sexually charged comments and unwanted touching of a female inmate, he resigned February 9th, 2021.
This one was very interesting.
Xavier Thicklin.
This one resulted in a $6.7 million judgment.
All right.
So this was from the former.
from David Clark Error when he was sheriff, a guard accused of reportedly repeatedly raping a 19 year old pregnant inmate in the Milwaukee County Jail in 2013.
In 2017, a jury awarded the woman $6.7 million.
So.
Not only has it been.
A problem that's also been costing us money as well.
And there was some in Waukesha.
There was some folks in Waukesha.

So a former corrections officer named Mary Moore is going viral on tiktok after explaining how a relationship with an adult inmate Changed the entire course of her life.

Morris says she is now a registered sex offender and is struggling with homelessness because of the restrictions connected to the status that makes it extremely difficult to find an approved place to live.
But this story has created a complicated debate about consent, professional power, and whether consequences of a crime can become permanent even after someone has completed the sentence imposed by the courts.
So, first, this is what we can verify, right?
September 2022, Mary Moore was a 21-year-old corrections officer working inside of a Clayton County jail in Georgia.
Investigators allege.

So investigators alleged that more engaged in sexual activity with an adult detainee in the doorway of a control tower inside one of the jail's housing units.

She was arrested and charged with sexual assault by law enforcement involving someone in custody.
She was released on a $5,000 bond.
Now more is telling her side of the story on TikTok.
According to her, the inmate was an adult.
Their relationship was consensual.
She did not initially understand that the law could classify what happened as a sexual offense.

First and foremost, a lot of the comments in like, most people know, you can't do that.

Moore says the case resulting in her being placed on Georgia's sex offender registry.
She also says that this restriction associated her with the status had,
with a status that has made it extremely difficult to find secure housing.
it's just crazy that she act like she ain't know that this could happen.

that you cannot have a relationship with inmates or it can result in charges like this.

So I guess people are asking how does it make her a sex offender under Georgia law an inmate cannot legally consent to sexual activity with an employee of the correctional facility Holding that person the law specifically says that Consent is not a defense that rule exists
because a corrections officer has authority over an inmates daily life, including movement, safety, discipline, and access to basic services.
That's literally what I just said.
They literally hold the power to so much stuff that human, like regular people out in the free world take for granted.

How freaked out must you be to even put your job jeopardize a job of any capacity?
But then you have a job like this you you know like from the comments that I was reading when you do these orientations when you accept these jobs they make it so clear that this is against the law that there will be repercussions if you do this

She can't live in certain areas because they're in school zones and the law don't really classify what type of predator you are.
So you can't be around kids, you can't be around schools, you can't be around day cares.
So it's hard to find somewhere for her to live.

Devon windburst Milwaukee County jail officer 29 arrested May 29 of 2023 charged early June 2023 with attempted sexual assault and given a female inmate his cell phone.
He was doing a whole lot.

He went into the woman's cell 30 times in one shift.
Put money in her jail account.
He pleaded guilty.
That was his baby.
February 12, 2024 to fourth degree sexual assault plus two felony counts of delivering contraband.
Sentencing was set for March.
22nd, 2024.
He was hired July 22nd, still on probation, fired after arrest.
Gilberto Fernandez Rosa, Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office 25.
He was with the office since 2018, allegation surface January 27th, 2021, charged February 3rd, 2021, with two counts of second degree sexual assault and one fourth degree.
After months of sexually charged comments and unwanted touching of a female inmate, he resigned February 9th, 2021.
This one was very interesting.
Xavier Thicklin.
This one resulted in a $6.7 million judgment.
All right.
So this was from the former.
from David Clark Error when he was sheriff, a guard accused of reportedly repeatedly raping a 19 year old pregnant inmate in the Milwaukee County Jail in 2013.
In 2017, a jury awarded the woman $6.7 million.
So.
Not only has it been.
A problem that's also been costing us money as well.
And there was some in Waukesha.
There was some folks in Waukesha.

So we got Ed Sheeran's stadium tour facing major disruption.
It's
become way bigger than a disagreement between two artists.
Macklemore was scheduled to open several shows on Ed Sheeran's loop tour, but after using his opening performances at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey to advocate for Palestinians, Macklemore was removed from the remaining tour dates.
Several of their artists then withdrew from the tour in solidarity with him.
And if I'm not mistaken, I think all of his opening acts actually said we're good So I don't even think Eddie got no opening acts right now.

During his performance Macklemore shouted free Palestine display footage from Gaza and perform his Heinz Hale Heinz Hall I think it's pronounced his protest song named in the honor of Heinz Raheem Raheem Is that You're
your own Which is a six-year-old Palestinian girl that was killed during the war
Macklemore told the audience to all of my Jewish brothers and sisters criticism of Israel criticism of the apartheid being against genocide in no way is a criticism of you He said this message was about peace and all human beings being treated with dignity respect and equality
However, some Jewish and Israeli audience members said they felt blindsided and unwelcome.
Several advocacy organizations accused Macklemore of turning Ed Sheeran's concert into a one-sided political demonstration.
The Israeli-American Council started a petition calling for his removal, arguing that the concert goers purchased a ticket for entertainment, not a political rally.
Then billionaire New England Patriots owner Rob Kraft became involved.
This is where things start taking a turn.
Crafts company owns the, is that Gillette Stadium?
Gillette Stadium where Ed Sheeran is scheduled to perform.
Kraft confirmed that his organization would not allow Macklemore to perform there.
He cited that Macklemore's recent presentation along with what Kraft described as a broader history of anti-Semitic rhetoric and imagery.
That history includes controversial 2014 costume that critics said resembled an anti-Semitic Jewish caricature.
Macklemore apologized at the time and denied that portraying a Jewish person was his intention.
Krav said that the latest decision was not meant to dismiss the suffering of innocent Palestinians or prevent anyone for advocating for them But he argued that advocacy for Palestinians should not come at the expense of the Jewish community or ignore Hamas Hamas's

Macklemore also said losing money, sponsorships, relationships and access to part is part of the price artists can pay for taking a public position.
He rejected the idea that he is the victim in this situation saying Palestinian people are the actual victims.
Ed has now responded.

that removing Macklemore.
Ed said that removing Macklemore was the promoter's decision and not his.
He said that he spent weeks trying to speak to venues attempting to find a compromise and the promoters would not change their position.
Sharon explained that Macklemore's agreement was with the promoter, yeah, not directly with him.
He also said that he would not cancel the entire tour and disappoint hundreds of thousands of his fans or eliminate work for crew members and musicians who rely on the two tours for their livelihood.
Sharon said that he respects Macklemore for standing firmly behind his beliefs, but Sharon has chosen a different approach.
His concerts, he said, are intended to bring people from different backgrounds together, not political forums or not become political forums.
Sharon said remaining publicly quiet does not mean he is indifferent or complicit.
His position is that there can be multiple approaches toward the same goal of peace.
But the controversy does not end there.
Billy Eilish's brother, longtime musical collaborator, he announced that he would no longer participate on his scheduled dates.
The singer Aaron Rowe, the band Lucas Grimm, Irish Folk Group,
Bo Bo Bioga also withdrew.
So yeah, basically everybody's withdrawing.
And I guess the larger conversation is does the artist have the right to use the stage to speak about injustice, even when the audience came to hear the music and may disagree.
So what you feeling about that?

I feel like, you know, shout out to Macklemore for saying, I feel like we've had, I feel like we've had this conversation before, right?
I feel like we had this conversation before because it's always never forget when it comes down to

And I also saw the images of what happened after that.
And what's still currently happening.

It's like, first of all, they knew who they booked.

But he also made sure we learned about the Holocaust that happened and how to make sure we are empathetic with what happened at the Holocaust.

He was trying to save as many people as he could, as many people as it could.

And this is their livelihood.
But I wonder if they would have followed it.
Do you think they would have followed it or they would have canceled the shows?

So it sounds to me like they would have made sure to make that man's life a living hell and then he would have still been having to pay for it and it would look bad and it also would have cost a lot of people their livelihood.
So as far as Ed's stance of continuing on, even though he did say he did try to talk to multiple promoters and stuff like that, I guess do you agree with him continuing on?

at the center of a very familiar debate.
Can we celebrate someone's talent and cultural impact without appearing to excuse the harm connected to their past?
Over the weekend, Chris Brown and Usher were performing at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, when Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett and Texas State Representative Venton Jones joined them on stage.
Crockett presented the artist with a recognized...

Yeah entered into the Congress congressional record.
Well, I'm tongue-tied today While Jones while Jones presented Chris Brown with an official recognition from the state of Texas honoring his impact on music and entertainment Crockett told the crowd we are experiencing black joy at the highest level and I wanted to make sure we document that
at the congressional level.
She also called Chris Brown a real one.
Brown is unquestionably one of the most successful and influential R&B performers of his generation.
His singing, dancing, longevity, and impact on the younger entertainers are hard to deny.
But critics immediately questioned whether the government officials should be using prestige of their offices to formally honor him.
That criticism centers largely on Brown's history of violence, especially his 2009 felony assault of Rihanna, to which he pleaded guilty.
Brown continued building a massive career since then, but the controversy has never completely disappeared.
For many domestic violence survivors and advocates, this was not simply a concert recognizing an artist.
It was elected officials placing the government's official stamp of approval onto him.
Now, Texas Representative Venton Jones has apologized since, while appearing on the Don Lemon show, Jones said, I want to offer my apology to black women, to women and to anyone who has experienced domestic violence.
Jones said that it was not his intention to reopen or intensify the trauma surrounding domestic violence.
He also explained that he and Crockett have been brought to the concert as part of an effort to engage and mobilize voters ahead of the November election.
He argued that the short viral clip did not show the complete purpose behind their appearance, but that explanation creates another question.
If you're trying to mobilize voters, especially Black women, shouldn't you be especially careful about who you publicly honor?
And was the apology sincere?
Right?
Because Chris Brown believes it was political, which that's kind of what Vinton said.
He responded on Instagram by saying the representatives approached him with this recognition.
He said, not the other way around.
Brown said he
He had not asked to be honored because he suspected this might happen.
Brown accused Jones of tap dancing and apologizing because he did not want to lose votes or support.
He then told politicians to leave him alone and allow him to focus on the fans who paid to support him.
Brown took a warmer tone toward Jasmine Crockett.
He thanked her and apologized for any backlash she received because of the recognition as the
As of the latest reporting use, yeah.
So as far as latest reporting, Crockett has not publicly apologized or withdrawn, right?
So I guess that's where this gets complicated because people can believe that Chris Brown is extraordinarily talented as a performer while believing that talent does not automatically entitles someone to be, you know, officially honored by the government.
This was not a question about whether Brown should be allowed to perform or release music or even have fans.
People purchased tickets to see him, so they have the right to support him.
The question is whether the elected officials should formally honor him using the authority and symbolism of the public office.
There's a difference between forgiveness and celebration.
Someone can believe that people deserve opportunities to change and still decide that a formal government recognition is unnecessary.
Accountability does not always mean a person can never work again, but moving forward does not secure a society to require society to erase what happened either.
So, should a person's talent and cultural influence
be considered separately from the history of violence.

So a former corrections officer named Mary Moore is going viral on TikTok after explaining how a relationship with an adult inmate changed the entire course of her life.
Y'all, she in the car crying.
Morris says she is now a registered sex offender and is struggling with homelessness because of the restrictions connected to the status that makes it extremely difficult to find an approved place to live.
But this story has created a complicated debate about consent, professional power, and whether consequences of a crime can become permanent even after someone has completed the sentence imposed by the courts.
So first, this is what we can verify, right?
September 2022, Mary Moore was a 21 year old corrections officer working inside of a Clayton County jail in Georgia.
Investigators alleged, yes, looking a mess.

She was released on a $5,000 bond.
Now more is telling her side of the story on TikTok.
According to her, the inmate was an adult.
Their relationship was consensual.
She did not initially understand that the law could classify what happened as a sexual offense.

The law specifically says that consent is not a defense.

They literally hold the power to so much stuff that human, like regular people out in the free world take for granted.

He was with the office since 2018, allegation surface January 27th, 2021, charged February 3rd, 2021 with two counts of second degree sexual assault and one of fourth degree after months of sexually charged comments and unwanted touching of a female inmate.
He resigned February 9th, 2021.

All right, so this was from the former from David Clark error when he was sheriff a guard accused of reportedly Repeatedly raping a 19 year old pregnant inmate in the Milwaukee County Jail in 2013

So, not only has it been a problem, it's also been costing us money as well.
