So on your sailboat, what's the most expensive thing to maintain, would you say?
Because, I mean, you just have a kicker on it, right?
Yeah, I just got a kicker.
I mean, it depends on how you can spend tons of money on sails, on the rigging.
I just treat ours as like a family boat.
So as long as it floats and the sails aren't torn, you know, like I try to keep, make sure the shrouds are in place and the stays are tight.
Wax it every 10 years.
Yeah.
I mean, I power wash it every year and, you know, we scrub it down.
I'll paint the bottom with the anti-following paint every few years.
What color is yours?
Black black.

I know there's blue.

I had to fix the steering while I told you yeah, so that was that was a few thousand dollars to get fixed for that but You know, but you can drop I mean some of these boats like I mean you have boats like you can spend as much money as you want on them and yeah way over their value Yeah,
I just had to have a the gimbal
while you join shaft and the shaft that goes between the lower unit and the engine redone and when I pulled up to my mechanics place I had a friend of mine with me and he's like do you have an alpha gen one or gen two on that I'm like it's a Bravo he's like
Oh, so you need the entire assembly.
I'm like, great.
So I heard from them this morning, and it's all done and ready to go.
And I'm going to have to work some overtime.
Less than what you were expecting, right?
Yeah, right.
You got to love it at the end of the season, too.

Yep, we were we were in Mackinaw Island I took my wife up there.
Oh really this past weekend.
Have you ever been up there?
I've not been to the island.
I've been over the the
mighty
Mac.

Yeah, you have to go over that to get to the island?

we did because we took the ferry out of Mackinac City, but you can take the ferry out of St.
Ignace.
That's what I thought.

because you can see the island off to the.
Yes, it would be north, right?
It's kind of like north.
More east.
Is it east off?
Well, it depends on if you're traveling south.
Yeah, east of the.
Well, it's always well, that's right.

I always forget the Mackinac Bridge is actually north south.
Yeah, it's it's it's a little angled, but yeah, it's basically north.
I
went over it twice.
It was at night though.
So yeah,
you kind of
lose your bearings, right?
I remember someone pointing out, you know, or maybe it was on GPS.
You could see the island.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was awesome.
Right.
My parents took me to that area when I was a kid and they do a thing.
Every Labor Day, they shut down a lane and you can walk the bridge.
Yeah, I've heard about
that.
And so we did that actually when I was a kid and it's five miles long, which is crazy because when you're on the ferry going to the island, you can see the whole thing.
It doesn't look like it's five miles.
I thought that
too.
And when you're up on the car, you can see both sides.
But when a bago from Wenz to the other side is five miles.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's strange and they said it and I didn't I knew it was big It's the largest bridge in the western hemisphere.
Mm-hmm.
I watched the documentary.
Yeah, they built that it was crazy
So anyway, we went we went and I don't know if you there's no cars allowed on Mackinac Island,
right?
So horse it's all horse drawn.
We brought our bikes a lot of walking I played The golf course there and it was probably one of the most fun golf experience I've ever done it's
It's one of the oldest courses, I think it started in 1898.
And it's on the site of this battlefield from the War of 1812.
Great Britain actually invaded Macon Island because there was a trading post, like a fur trading post there.
They invaded, we surrendered and the battle took place on this golf course.
And then it was cool because you could rent
the old hickory clubs.
So I got old hickory clubs.
They give you four clubs.
It's like a driver, a long iron, a short iron, and a wedge and a putter.
That's going to be a unique sound when you tap the ball.
Yeah, it was a lot of fun.
I hit number one.
I hit my drive and it was like right down the middle, nice and far.
And I was like, Hey, this isn't so bad.
That was the best driving.
I lost a lot of balls, but had a lot of
fun.
So did you stay at the grand hotel?
We stayed at Mission Point, which is kind of on the opposite side, but we went to the Grand.
Funny story about the Grand is every night at the Grand is Grand, they say.
That's true.
So you need a sport coat for men.
If you're gonna be because we were gonna go and just walk around the brand and you know check it out No, no you gotta you gotta have a dress code like
didn't you see that drive?
But yeah a lot of fudge It oddly enough You know we see Mackinaw Island fudge around here.
Yeah, there is no Mackinaw Island fudge company on Mackinaw Island It's
so strange
They probably can't haul it around with horses.
I guess yeah, but had a blast and yeah all as well just enjoying the weather getting ready for Oktoberfest bingo tonight life is good
