On the JAG show, fill in hosts Kathryn Lake and John Scott discuss the difficulties of communication, especially with younger generations, while interviewing Tim Slekar of Busted Pencils. Tim shares a relatable, slightly agonizing struggle of parenting his 22-year-old college-graduating daughter, who is finally starting to acknowledge that her father's wisdom "might be on to something" after years of tuning him out. They humorously agree that effective communication requires empathy, listening, and resisting the urge to jump in and correct someone, a lesson that is apparently also applicable to radio and parenting.
