To kick off the first segment of the weekly best of John and Gordy, we talk with Dr. Mary Walden, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker about how the constant pull of technology and cell phones hurts certain practices she is involved in. People often reach for their phones hundreds of times a day to try to "settle" themselves when feeling anxious or unsettled. Tune in!
Then, in the second part of this weeks best of segments, John and Gordy chat with Jim Santelle to discuss the surprising decision by Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson regarding emergency funding for the SNAP food program. The initial order from a district judge required the Trump administration to immediately fund SNAP, but when the case reached Jackson as the assigned justice for that circuit, she issued a stay to prevent immediate action. Jim stated, "It is still a mess, but it's a procedural vagary, if you will, regrettably in the time of Trump and we need to understand that. Understand that Ketanji Brown Jackson was doing something to preserve the interests of those 42 million people.
