John & Gordy started off talking about the Northern Lights in Madison. This quickly transitioned into a segment about their new, obsessive family hobby: capturing mice in a humane trap and then driving out to a field to release them. JAG lamented the constant appearance of mice—one host had already released one that morning—and the tedious, almost minute-by-minute checking of the trap. The situation was so absurd that John admitted he couldn't stand having a live mouse "wrangling itself" in the trap and that their family pastime was getting "a little obsessive". JAG ended the segment by discussing a 60 Minutes report detailing how China is buying up vast amounts of U.S. farmland to build data centers.

Also, Judy Davidoff, who is the editor and president of Isthmus publication, was discussing the content of her latest issue focusing on Madison-area nonprofits. Isthmus no longer operates from its own building but utilizes a co-working space called StartingBlock on East Washington Avenue, where Judy and her colleague have two permanent seats.
