After that "hard hitting" discussion, they go into the recent election victories of progressive and Democratic candidates across the country, highlighting a supposed surge of the "new and next generation" in politics. Mamdani's victory is celebrated as a "big win" for the Democratic side. His speech is featured, where he asserts that if anyone can defeat Donald Trump, it's the city that gave rise to him, and the way to defeat a despot is by "dismantling the very conditions that allowed him to accumulate power".

JAG also discuss the strong showing of other Democratic candidates nationwide, which they attribute to them being "great candidates". A brief, recurring point is made about the misunderstanding of the term "Democratic Socialist," which John feels is unfairly grouped with "Communism" by the opposing party.
