The Richland Center boys basketball team opened the season at home with a loss to Mauston. The Golden Eagles took the lead midway through the first half en route to a 58-38 win. 

The Richland Center girls basketball team lost at Westby Friday night.  The Norse took the season opener 51-31 with a strong outside presence. The hosts hit six three pointers on the way to the 20-point win. They pulled away from a close score in the first half to lead 26-10 at the break.
