Marcus McCauley joins us, one of the assistants with the Ithaca Western football team.
Well, you get to the second level.
It's always exciting.
But what do you think has pushed the team to this point in the season so far, Marcus?
You know, we've had some adversity this year, and we fought it while kids have come together.
It's the first year of the program.
you know, kind of just take a day by day, week by week.
And, uh, it's been playing well and we're ready to go for another one tonight.
Yeah.
And then size wise, definitely a lot bigger than us, especially up front.
Um,
But as you said, we're pretty physical too.
I like to say we got a few junkyard dogs on our team and they're not going to go down without a fight tonight.
Yeah, I think it's going well.
I have really enjoyed it.
You know, I kind of stepped in when the guy that was coaching at Weston last year left to go back home for a job and
I had known Mr. Kelly from wrestling and he's like, you know, I could really use you kind of know the kids already.
So I kind of offered to volunteer and help when I could.
And then that kind of that role kind of jumped up a little bit.
But I've been enjoying it.
I've been have a lot of fun.
The kids have been I've created a lot of relationships with the kids and parents.
And I think amongst each other, they've created a lot of a lot of relationships and friendships the last lifetime.
Yeah, absolutely.
I tell people all the time, you know, the kids that, uh, so we caught my sophomore year in high school, the kids that I grew up with in that co-op, you know, we're friends now, our kids are friends.
We get together, watch the packer games, you know, and we sit and talk about, can you imagine if we were co-opped in football, you know, 15 years ago.
Um, so I think it's cool that it's finally happened and.
and the success that the programs are having that are co-opped together.
Yeah, I think the kids are really enjoying it.
You know, if I had to coach eight man, I'm not sure I'd know what to do, so I'm glad that with this co-op that we're back playing 11 man, and I think everyone else is enjoying it too.
Yeah.
I mean, watching film on Blackhawk tonight, they don't, they don't hide anything there.
They give you the formation.
They're going to run right at you.
Um, you know, they'll throw a counter at you and try to sneak a pass in there.
Uh, we're lucky enough, you know, we're kind of the same way.
We're going to try to run it, run it down your throat and, uh, you know, then we have.
Lucky enough to have a weapon like Caden Keller that we control the ball to and, you know, he can, can make some athletic plays out in the open field for
it?
Yeah.
You get Jacob in the open field and, uh, green grass in front of him.
Not many people are going to catch him.
and it's always kind of funny we joke about it you know first week of practice or we did some seven on seven this summer and who's going to be our quarterback and it was kind of between the two Keller Keller boys and neither one really wanted to do it and then you know we kind of throw through Jacob in that role and he's he's exceeded and I kind of asked him a couple weeks ago I'm like I still want to play receivers like well I kind of want to but I like having the ball in my hands every time so I think it's working out for him and I think he's enjoying it.
Yeah.
I think our key is going to be, if we can stop them defensively, uh, like I said, they're big and physical upfront.
Uh, if we can get a couple of stops, I think that's going to be the key.
I think our, our offense, like you said, you know, being multi-dimensional, we should be able to move the ball.
Okay.
Um, but if we can stop them defensively, I think that's, that's where the game's going to be one.
I'm hoping so.
I'd like to think so.
I think if we get breakthrough of first level, we should be okay.
Yeah.
And they got a lot of size and they're just going to wall you down and they got a pretty big physical running back similar to what we faced last week that he gets downhill fast.
So, you know, if we can hit him at the line of scrimmage or behind the line of scrimmage and slow him down to start, I think that'll, that'll benefit us a lot.
Yeah, I'm, I'm hoping so as a good, good crowd last week and, uh, I hope we can do it again.

Johnny is Ithaca Western Coach, Kyle Kelly.
Coach?
Let's look back to that game, the opening night of the tournament.
Waterloo was a tough opponent.
What made the difference for Ithaca-Weston?
I thought we were able to shut down their running backs just enough time to make it work.
guys where do you think that comes from it's just kind of like that team attitude and atmosphere is part of their identity getting ready for this week uh... what do you work on this late in the season always add a couple new wrinkles into what we've done all year long to try to give us a different look let's uh... go over the scouting report a little bit about blackhawk warren what sticks out on that count they're huge uh... i think their average line is like two hundred fifty pounds and under running back about two twenty so they're they're giant and
Are
from last week, what do they do well against Cashton to get that win?
Move the ball on the ground very effectively to dive, keep, dive, keep repeatedly.
And Ithaca-Weston, you do a lot of running as well.
Can we expect kind of another quick game?
I would assume, yeah, both teams are probably going to be trying to do their bread and butter.
But never know.
What do you see as keys from Ithaca Weston if you're going to advance to the next level?
Like I said, we're going to have to do everything right and probably get, we need a break or two along the way.
We need something to fall in our lap a bit.
Do you feel that Ithaca Weston is the underdog in this game?
Yeah.
Black Hawk's been there so many times before.
I think that conference they played in such a buzzsaw that they've just overcome a little bit more in the actual games.
They're going to be tough.
say a word about them again if you would.
Oh yeah, I said they've done an awesome job all year long, so we're going to have to lean on them again once more on Friday night.
area of expertise there among your coaches?
Brett is like a wizard and a half at the defense.
Marcus Mccally also is very this football smart and I think Chad knows like every kind of play information that was ever invented on offense So yeah that they are really really awesome
brought coach Clary out of retirement I'm guessing you're glad to have him back on the staff, aren't you?
I am overjoyed as all can be to have him back on the staff I'm so happy he's helping out like it's awesome that he's up there It makes a world of difference like I'm so happy he decided to come out
tradition that the kids might not be aware of, right?
Oh, yeah, for sure.
But like I said, he's just a super guy in general.
He's so easy to get along with and so incredibly knowledgeable.
He's just so great to have around.
and what they mean to the community, Kyle.
Like I said, it's always packed on Friday.
So you have to realize now what the co-op is.
There's just that many more people there.
There's quite a following, and they're very, very supportive.
So that's really cool.
It's really awesome for the kids to have that many people showing up for a month Friday.
How are you health-wise getting into this next week of the season?
We're still down.
Peyton and Gage are still out.
So other than that, we're healthy.
Sounds good.
Good luck.

But Bob Podner senior from Black Hawk.
with 12 touchdowns and he has rushed for 766 and also rushing leaders, Dax Paquin, 1360 yards for Blackhawk and Trent Binlingmeyer Sr.
has rushed for 356 on the season.
They are the leaders for the visitors coming in tonight.
Brian Ellen joins me this evening to help do a little spotting and watch the game Brian How do you see this one tonight?
I believe that it'll be a running game tonight the way both teams present themselves The both running teams the clock should run a lot Maybe force one or team or the other to force them into a passing situation
You had a chance to walk
Yep, I agree.
Ithaca Weston, I think, is going to have to establish a running game by
trying up the middle, but I think they're going to gain more of their yards to the outside.
And then I think they'll open up their passing game.
Jacob Keller, the
Yes.
Yes.
He does an excellent job doing that.
I had their game at Weston.
a couple weeks ago and did a very nice job.
Wow.
Coming into the game.
Kaden Keller, leading receiver, 4-45.
And this guy has caught more one-handed catches, I think, than I've seen in a high school game.
And Spencer Nelson, also the leading tackler for Ithaca Weston, a total of 87 tackles.
He anchors that defense very well.
He reads the plays.
Kudos to him.
Pre-game time coming up.
You've heard the Dasha Lantham Singers warming up.
We'll have that and more when we continue with WIAA Level 2 Playoff Football on WRCO Radio Sports.

The winner of this one will take on Peppin Alma or Iowa Grant.
Those teams meeting tonight at Iowa Grant.
Travis Wilson from bound Wisconsin will update us at halftime.
But one of the things he talked about was the toughness of Peppin Alma.
And that could be a really decent game over there.
That sounds like it.
Did you see Iowa Grant this year when you're refing?
No, I didn't.
I didn't have Iowa Grant.
for the large part, a passing team.
Yeah, I heard he was a one man wrecking crew.
Yes.
Yes.
So we'll see what, uh, what happens with that game tonight.
We'll be trying to keep you updated there.

points, miss some extra points.
So that, uh, that can turn it against you.
That's for sure.
So Black Hawk Warren will be in the white uniforms with the red lettering.
I know you can't see that on the radio, but we'll describe it for you.
And the Bulldogs in the purple with the white lettering and Black Hawk Warren chose to
Take the kick off or give it to Ithaca here in the opening half of football.
Now there's no advantage to win tonight.
The flag is playing about as still as it can be.
Officials for
And they are set to blow the whistle and get this one.
We hope you enjoy it.
Started here on WRCO radio.
Here we go.
Black Hawk Warren.
They're down in the three point stance and they're going to give a kick off.
It's going to roll across the ground, stays in bounds, picked up at the 20 yard line by Ithaca Weston and a return just briefly for Thompson on the far side.
Looks like about the 35 yard line.
Yep.
And so he is brought down Quintus Banker, I should say the return man.
So that's where it will start for Ithaca Weston as if it was kicked out of bounds almost kind of in that same vicinity.
the quarterback is jacob keller joined in the backfield by the likes of spencer nelson will see great running backland and walmer who's had a good year as well and keller one of the wide receivers and banker and then a running play up the gut to spencer nelson and he gets a couple of yards good run by
Line includes Braxton fowl Isaiah Fargent read Wabchell Mason Van Coulter Hayden burns in Ben Otto Won't be second on ends seven way it looks okay 35 yard line they start right around the 37 now just underway from Ithaca Weston on WRCO and Black Hawk Warren digging in man coverage on the far side of the field two men wide
for Ithaca Weston awaiting a snap handoff Nelson runs off right tackle for only about a yard or so.
So he is going to be brought down and he'll bring up third down about four yards.
Yep.
Look like that third and four tackle made by 77 Brandon McCoy and some of these guys with good size Brandon six two three thirty seven.
Yep.
He's going to anchor that metal.
Third down play coming up for Ithaca Weston.
Big part of the night here.
Let's see how they do on the conversion.
Jacob Keller coming in with a play from the near side and Ithaca Weston is in the huddle and now will break committee third down and less than five here for Ithaca Weston need to get to the 41 for a first down awaiting a snap from center out of the shotgun Keller throws caught behind the line of scrimmage and Kate and Keller breaks away from a couple first down 50 to the 49 of block off Warren had nice game there
But down by 59 Jonathan Heller of Black Hawk Warren So first down sticks yeah, and I think came Keller is a great man to have the ball in his hands to try to get it in his hands as much as you can He's got good speed once he gets it Play comes in for the near side first down and 10 for Ithaca Western Ball just across the 50 49 yard line area of Black Hawk Warren rests on the near hash mark
The line is set.
Colorado, the shotgun runs to the right side, taking a man with him to block.
And he's looking, looking and now throws at the last minute.
Nope.
He's going to be brought down now and complete.
He got to throw off right on the far side, right in front of the Blackhawk Warren sideline.
So incomplete past that good coverage by a Blackhawk must have been backfield led by number 12 Brodie Argel in that defensive secondary.
And it brings up second down and 10 yards to go.
If they go west and doing a little soul searching on that one Lake Dray was in on that play as well in the backfield.
They used him as a blocking back Two men come to the nearest side Kate and Keller is out split out along with Liam Rohn Awaiting the snap under shot gun and no he's gonna take it under center handoff to Nelson bashes to
46.
Yep Nelson for about three
the clock.
Yeah, I believe this game will be a fast game.
It's gonna be played up the middle of the field
For a second time on this drive that started at their own 31 yard line.
So it's third down They get six yards to go just outside the 45 yard line.
Here comes the handout No, he's gonna keep it himself Keller hit in the backfield and brought for a big loss by number 12 Brodie Argel.
Yeah, he's left that one out defensive end stayed home
So fourth down and about eight for Ithaca Weston and I would assume that they will punt the ball away
loss of two on the play.
Black Hawk Warren will send a man back deep to receive it.
Actually two men back.
Kate and Keller out to do the honors.
If Ithaca Weston does go through with it, and I presume they will.
They need to get to the 39 for a first down.
Fourth down and seven.
They've got the punting crew out.
There's the snap and Kate and keeps it on the ground.
It's a
Real floater is going to keep running and rolling and it's going to be down by ethical Western right around.
Did he get it?
Nope.
It touched back touch back.
He quite just couldn't quite stop it.
Sprinting downfield
was Quintus Banker and he went into the end zone.
Yep.
Just a yard short of keeping that on the one yard line.
It was, he was there.
Yep.
I think he actually touched the end line.
the goal line and that's what caused the touch back.
So this is out of the 20 yard line for Black Hawk Warren, their own 20 yard line as we get it going here.
821 remaining in the opening quarter.
No score at Ithaca.
Ithaca Weston digging in on the defensive side.
The Warriors on offense.
First in 10, the handoff running play, not much in the backfield.
Oh, Bulldogs in the nice job they thrown for a long.
Yeah, number 37, the ball carrier.
He's been the man, Dex, Paquin.
Who has had 1,300 and some yards lost a three on the play lost took three from his grand total this year Throughout the night Marcy strikeout Alzheimer's scoreboard from the flip phone tonight River Ridge leading spring Valley 7-0 in the first quarter 750 remaining in the opening quarter here No score second down at about 13 yards to go for Black Hawk Warren They'll run on the left side not much again.
That's big when he will get
Head maybe the original line is clearance Brian.
Yep.
Maybe a gain of two there Third down 11.
Mark had just outside the 20 yard line.
So good defense by Ithaca Weston Up the middle Ben Otto and Hayden Burns and a host of friends Making that stop So Ithaca Weston holding its own along the line One man wide right one man wide left for the Warriors on third down to body 11
Awaiting the snap from center and here is partner.
He's rolling out to his right.
They're coming after him He throws it it is incomplete to pick when great play on the defense Brian.
Yeah number five Liam Rowan was back there.
He was giving a lot of pressure.
He had to get rid of it So hurry play results in a fourth down on 11 yards to go Well so far I would say if it the Weston is holding its own in the line, right?
Yeah, look very good start very good start for IW
So it's going to be a punt for Black Hawk Warren and Ithaca Weston also will have two men back to receive this punt.
They're back around their own 45 yard line.
There's the snap punter steps in and line drives.
This one a bounder right around the 45 now rolling into Ithaca Western territory to the 45 yard line.
And that's where it will be.
So second possession, pretty good field shape for Ithaca Western.
That was a wounded quail on the punt kind of was yep right around the 45 yard line And so that's where Ithaca Weston will take over for its second possession Had a first down on the opening drive and then wound up punting the ball Kate and Keller split out to the near side and Jacob Keller awaiting the snap from center There it is hand off and coming this way the running back is going to be stacked up and dropped that was Walmart got across the 46
Maybe a gain of one on the play Stopped again By Brandon McCoy and also number 12 Brody Argel and number 11 Trent Bittlingmeyer second down and nine Play comes in from the sidelines here, Ithaca Weston on the near side of the field and great crowd on hand I knew there would be
yep Yep, always pack them in here and then we get it's good and West enjoying a team.
You know, you're gonna have a crowd
Yep.
Oh, yard.
Third down for Ithaca Weston and they'll bring the play in for the near side again.
These quarters move pretty fast when the teams are
Keep it on the ground.
Yep.
We're already halfway through.
So you have to go Weston to the line.
Potosi, Cassville, and Mandovi are tied at seven.
That's a high scoring first quarter.
Third down.
IW out of the shotgun.
Jacob Keller, rolling to the far side.
They're coming after him.
He throws down the run.
Did he is caught?
Did he get it?
Kate and Kelly are catch.
Got a catch.
He did at the 44 gate of nine yards.
I don't know.
He got his hands underneath that, but he did.
So a first down conversion.
Kate and Keller very prolific.
Yeah, it's catcher.
Yeah So that'll make it a first and 10 Ifica West that is inside the 45 yard line of Black Hawk Warren
Yeah, Kate and thought he could get up and go with it was a pro as he could have.
Yeah, that's right.
Got
have a whistle.
the defense.
Nope.
Lined up right away.
Yep.
Five yard penalty
bit.
Yep.
Yep.
You're could use a body Playing your playbook here to you know to trickle maybe Dan Rice might have used the
coverage
Pat was there intended for Keller and Brody Argo broke it up number 12 Yeah, he was just step-for-step with Kaden very good coverage pass was there age with the film
That people have you know with huddle and everything else.
I'm sure all week long.
They're like Argo.
You're on Keller and I'm sure he's been working on that all week out.
Yeah So we got second down in five So now you go back to the basics, maybe and yeah, like maybe a Spencer Nelson run or something like that Spencer's had a little bit of tough sledding here early on.
He's another guy I'm sure they've keyed on all week in practice watch
That's number eight awaiting a snap from center.
There it is handoff go on to number eight and he puts the shoulder down gets about three
yards Yeah, I'm guessing he got about three.
It should be third down to
got the oh, we got some confusion here It looks like IW is gonna take a timeout well the center went up to
Well, there was a lot of focus on you.
There was.
Yeah, they knew that they could get through the line.
Just go up the middle.
Follow me, boys.
Time out on the field.
We'll be back in 30 seconds.
Scarlett's here in the opening quarter.
348 remaining at the western with a third down conversion attempt when we return with more on WRCO sports.

was?
Yeah, it's a legal shift against the offense.
Yeah, you can have two backs in the backfield in motion at the same time But once alignment and a back go, you know move then it's You know the penalty
comes They break cuddle van Colter up to snap the ball and the rest of the line around him get to go Weston close in tight
Nobody split out.
We've got a shotgun.
Nope.
Keller under center takes it, runs into his own back, tries to run to the near side, caught and then stood up and then pushed over the pile, tackled roughly there at the end by Argel and it's fourth down.
So that'll be right at the near hash mark, fourth and about seven.
So he didn't, didn't go all that smoothly.
And Keller ran into his back, ran to his
back and then he did hit the growing heart.
fell over a Blackhawk player that was on the ground and he really hit the ground hard.
To med back deep to receive this punt from Ithaca Weston Black Hawk Warren back around the ten yard line And the punter is Kate and Keller awaiting the snap its low bounces He picks it up and now gets it off just barely it angles to the air side stays in bounds keeps rolling if it go Weston will down it nine yard line at the nine yard line That almost went out of bounds.
They got it right there at the nine and that's where it'll take over for Black Hawk Warren nice pun Again, he barely got that off.
Yes
That punt looked like a loaf of bread.
Nine yard line of Black Hawk Warren.
So they're back up against the wall and so far I think a Western is kind of winning a field position battle.
Yeah, the penalty penalty really hurt IW there and then you burn a timeout and then you get a penalty.
It's just a couple of bad things happen for them there.
Hopefully the defense comes through here and keep them deep.
First down
the six rivers conference.
He always tough.
I always compare it to kind of the old school blue collar conference awaiting the snap from center of the quarterback partner takes it and now pitch coming up in a short side of the field and nowhere to go for Paquen.
He has bumped out of bounds.
He got more than I thought, but we got across the 10 to around the 12 yard line.
Yep.
Game of three on the play.
Dax Paquen junior running back listed at 212 and six foot.
He's a tough one to bring down.
And you think a westerner's kind of bump shoulders with him and escorted him out Second down play coming up for black Hawk Warren went out of bounds so it stops the clock with 222 and whistles sound do we have an equipment problem?
Looks like number 11 Bittlingmeyer.
He's gonna stay in the game.
Yeah Just some equipment issues there don't know what it was for black Hawk Corrected it quickly
All right, here we go second down play for Black Hawk Warren Ball on the near hash mark and the clock will start with the snap of the ball There's the snap hodner hands off running backpaked when comes over the pack He's got a little running room.
He has the first down dragon and plowing a few all the way to the 28 yard line.
That was a good run Tackled by number two Quentus banker
And number 50 is there Braxton foul first down warriors So that was a good blue collar.
Yeah, it's a 16-yard game way
Hey, you definitely don't want him getting up in the open it takes two or three guys get him down
in the low
nice play by Ithaca Weston bringing down number nine Janaki Janaki getting his first carry and several in the defensive Backfield there Rob shell coming in he was one of the first guys there
Van Otto as well.
Loss of one on the play.
Nice play by the defense.
Second down 11.
Clock down to a minute 15 in the quarter.
West Salem leading Aquinas 7-6.
That's in the first quarter of football action tonight.
Second round of the WIAA playoffs.
Podner is set man in motion going to the far side.
There's the snap from center handoff and there's the pick win and he gets over the pile and then rolls for a couple of more to the 34 yard line.
Game
of ball five on the play.
Yeah, he's just
He's really broad shoulder.
Young man is thick.
Well, right between the hash and now getting set two men wide to the left side, 25 seconds in the quarter, quarterback, partner.
Undercenter and then takes the snap fakes they end up runs it himself can caught in the backfield and drop.
Yep.
Nope quarterback keeper Nowhere to go for him.
Ithaca Weston makes this stop again great defense Liam Rohn leading the way and 77 that was Otto look like a ball loss of three on the play Hayden
Turnes is over there as well.
Final play of the opening quarter and we are scarless.
Fourth down for Black Hawk 1 when we start the second quarter.
Next, this is high school football from WRCO Radio Sports.

Yep.
He was on my back up.
about yeah
I think he's going to mark it at the 26.
Unofficial, unofficial stats for the rushing.
IW has 13 yards of rushing, and Blackhawk has 20.
So not a lot, really.
And Caden Keller has
Yep.
Three negative plays between both teams.
No score in the ball game here at Ithaca.
Big crowd.
A lot of them wearing Halloween costumes.
You and I didn't, but nobody would notice who we did probably.
You get into Halloween once in a while.
I've seen you dress up from time to time.
Yeah, it happens.
Yep Especially important on the radio Keller under center for first down first and ten There's the handoff Nelson cradles the ball as he plows to the 30 to the 31 Spencer, I like how he just He really double hands that ball.
Yeah, he's getting into I'm really heavy pressure.
Yep.
He gained four yards on the play second on and six So ethical Weston
Yeah, he protects ball really well.
You got to.
They call it the peanut punch going back to Charles Tillman of the Bears who started that whole punch and thing.
Now you see it every single week where teams are punching that ball trying to get it loose.
Second down and six yards and there we go.
Looks like encroachment.
Black Hawk Warren.
Black Hawk Warren.
Yeah.
to get in there.
Yeah, so that brings it down to less than a yard.
It's second down and less than a yard.
Coming from the sidelines quarterback Keller into the huddle and Ithaca Weston up to the football just shy of the 35 yard line.
Second down and short yardage.
Everybody in tight.
Jacob Keller now under center.
Long snap count now runs it himself coming out on the boot leg looking to throw throws it near side in traffic in complete Pat it out of bounds that it was number five the intended receiver Liam wrong Kate and Keller in the vicinity Pretty well defended as well.
Yeah, there wasn't much there.
He had two defenders and two receivers all in the same area So the third down and one
Third in the yard, I think, was there a flag on the plate?
No, I guess not.
No, I didn't see one.
The way I think Alesson was backing up, I thought they were kind of going backwards, but they're just going back further to huddle.
And now with a third down and again, less than a yard, we'll try to get serious on this one.
Got to crack the 35 yard line for a first down to keep possession of the football.
There's the snap.
Handoff, Nelson plows
for a couple
yards and Scott, the first down.
Yeah game of about three there Phil.
All right First down gets the clock going and if they go Western with a football by the way this game is going I can't see it being a high-scoring game No, not right now, but you never know every time I ever say that then all of a sudden, you know, the final is Some crazy number.
Yeah, the Black Hawk cash in game has surprised me a lot more and you know Yeah, that's a high-scoring game 3632.
I believe you and I both were surprised in that one
And how about when Black Hawk played Iowa Grant this year?
That score was 56-32 Iowa Grant.
That's a lot of points.
First down, and Ithaca Weston takes the snap.
Handoff running play, and Walmart trying to break the corner.
Now we have a flag.
Flag flies right in the backfield.
We have holding against the Bulldogs at IW.
back it off.
The way this game is going 20 yards a long way right now.
It's a whole quarter worth of offense exactly
Back of the 29 yard line of Ithaca Weston And they will get her going here again Glad to have you along from the raised to it best center is sports desk and Rockwell automation
Long time sports supporters of local and community events.
We appreciate them very much.
Dairyland Transportation High School sports update coming up tonight at halftime as we talk about the state cross country meet tonight under center Keller first and 20 handoff Spencer Nelson running off left tackle and he is offended after a couple yards.
Yeah, about three on the play, Phil.
Yeah, they'll be about second and 17.
All right.
As you mentioned, Brian, no, no win to report on this one tonight.
No, would not affect the past.
We haven't seen a lot of passing here tonight.
Certainly Jacob Keller very capable of that.
We'll see what happens Here comes the snap out of the shotgun and he is back to pass and he steps up throws it complete near side and stepping into it as Nelson turns up field yes to the 50 nice
shy of a first down one
Yeah, he got a little extra on his own there ball 11 yards on the play both partner of Black Hawk Warren makes the tackle and the ball is near midfield and third down and short third and three
So they got a lot of it back there.
Yeah, and that was set up.
Well, you know the pocket wasn't too bad and Nelson able to get free And Spencer that
was a very good pass
money.
Yeah Spencer's not been able to run the ball very much tonight here Well, but maybe they can get him out and get it do some other way get in his hands Keller
Split out wide to the left side, third down and three.
Hand off, there's Nelson and he bolts through for a first down.
He bolted for about three yards.
To the 49 yard line, Ithaca-Weston.
Actually, four yards, Phil.
Following the block there of number 70.
That is Hayden Burns.
West Salem leading Aquinas 21 nothing that is in the second quarter of that one We are scoreless here in Ithaca with 833 remaining in the opening quarter
You know this the line on both sides of the ball fill, you know how tough it is in there and they're both playing extremely well now they are
believe it was never
34 Walmer off the bottom of the pile gained of one on the play
Just across the If it go Weston with 750 remaining now just getting into Black Hawk Warren territory
Some of the stats that Ithaca Weston had pretty impressive this year.
They've had a good year They're coming into the game 24 of 46 in the passing game He has completed a couple of really good ones tonight second down and nine For Ithaca Weston ball at the 49 yard line of Black Hawk Warren.
There's the snap Keller back steps up whips one near side He's got Kate and Keller up in the air and he can't hold it in at the 25 yard line.
Oh, that was a good effort
Pretty well defended by catchpaw number six.
It was.
Yeah, he turned turned in.
I think you'd like to have it back.
Yeah.
Keller was open.
And I think, you know, just the past was just a tad late, you know, getting there
But Jacob Keller showing a good arm.
Oh, a beautiful spiral there.
I saw that back in the first game of the season.
Kurt Thompson and I were there at Riverdale, but, um, and that was a really good ball game.
But, uh,
Kate and Caller made a couple of catches in that game that you might see on Saturday during the college game.
One handed and then fully extended.
Ethica Weston with a third down and nine from the 49 of the Warriors.
Back to throw is Jacob.
Gonna whip one again way down the sideline and over the shoulder grab.
Ethica Weston, catch number 14.
It is nearly a touchdown.
It looks like Carter Plemer halts it in and it's inside the five yard line.
What a catch.
What
balls on the four yard line.
That
Oh my goodness Yeah, we're kind of looking at an angle.
I couldn't tell I knew he didn't get to the goal line But very very close proximity now and doable Caden Keller splits out wide to the left and again
Van Coulter set to snap the ball Jacob Keller under center handoff running play left tackle not much Nelson look like He is stacked up and brought back down Looks like very little of any game, right?
I don't think so the stick never moved 645 remaining in this opening half of football no score Ithaca Weston trying to change that right here play comes in from the near side, but
I think a Weston has obviously found that the passing game might be the way to go here And we kind of assumed that it might be coming into the game It took a Weston up to the line one man split out wide to the left side And here goes the quarterback trying to break it himself gets the wrong one man spun around He is gonna be stacked up and
back up and lost on the play back
Takes it down to 6 0 5 remaining here in the opening half.
New glare is leading Chilton 21-0 in the second quarter of action.
Only flip phone sponsored by Marzies strikeout Alzheimer's their big event coming up next weekend at the bowling alley.
Good
Blackhawks defensive end on that side.
He stayed home.
He didn't bite.
He made a really good play.
Ithaca Weston.
Trying to punch in six tough yards.
There's the snap out of the shotgun.
Going to throw it near side over shot Spencer Nelson right around the five yard line.
Fourth down.
Well, what do you do here?
I knew they do have a good kicker, but probably not thinking about that right now.
I'm thinking there will probably go for it.
I know it's good field goal opportunity, but it is on the left hash.
Yeah, it's tough.
It's not in the middle of the field.
No,
believe we're gonna take a timeout IW is taking a timeout to think about it
Both teams go to the sidelines 529 remaining in the opening half scoreless here fourth down Goal to go from the six yard line coming up when we return in 30 seconds with more from WRCO sports Life is all about relationships shouldn't your insurance be to

All right, here we go short time out both teams heading back to the field fourth down and goal from the six yard line of black Hawk Warren Oh, they're going for it.
Absolutely kickers not out there So ball in the far hash mark and Keller will take it from under center.
There's the snap pitch Spencer Nelson trying to break the corner He's gonna throw it on down the goal line picked off by black Hawk Warren right around the three Oh, he had a man in the end zone
open as well
Just under through it low and Black Hawk Warren player was in the right spot the right time Trent Bittlingmeyer
That was a half-back option pass
And IW is glad it didn't get a pick six out of
Yeah, absolutely.
He had a little green grass down the sidelines, but they were able to make the tackle right away.
Awaiting the snap from center.
His partner looks it over.
There's the snap now running himself.
Going to the far side, cutting around the right corner.
A little success there.
Steps one man breaks it for about a 10 yard run and maybe
more.
It looks like it's the first down.
Sticks will move.
Ball is marked right around the
16 right around the 15 16 yard line area Who carried that fell that was the quarterback.
Okay, that was partner.
Okay, who runs the ball quite well look like gain of 11 So they'll break huddle and head to the football first in 10 for Black Hawk Warren under five minutes remaining here in the opening half scoreless at Ithaca in WIAA football
There's the snap from center handoff running play that is Paquin getting around the right side bumped out of bounds by Ithaca Weston close to a first out
They're stopping the clock because it went out of bounds, but I think it's just shy
I W just don't want to sit on the run and get beat here on a pass.
And also I should mention the good catch by Carter.
Plemer.
So we've had a couple of really big plays tonight through the air.
Black Hawk Warren trying to reciprocate.
They're going to have a running back.
Paik when he gets the first down.
Yeah.
Game of about three on the play, Phil over the pile there.
Brought down by ethical Western Spencer Nelson Coming up that middle linebacker spot makes the stop first and ten for Black Hawk Warren 430 remaining in the scoreless first half of action here tonight and Black Hawk Warren to the football first in ten Got a man out wide side here on the home side of the field
There's this nap from center quarterback hands off.
There's Paquin.
Look out.
He breaks one.
He's got few yards to the 45 50 45 of Ithaca Weston still going brought down at the 30 30 on a touchdown saving catch tackle there by Caden Keller Big run Yeah, he's he's just kind of a run for pay dirt and waiting to happen about every single time He's got some pretty good.
Yeah, they are yeah when he got in the open field
Takes it down to four minutes He must have stayed in
he doubled.
Yeah, it stayed in balance.
He doubled his output there about 35 yard
gain I got big one 350 remaining in the opening half ball is marked at the 30 yard line of Ithaca Weston now Black Hawk Warriors are running downhill now for the first time awaiting snap from center and the handoff gone for again.
Take one left side.
He gets about five yards to the 25
Tackle maybe five yards, Ithaca Weston man getting up slowly that is number 70 Hayden Burns.
I think Hayden made the tackle and Running back like that can punish you when you tackle him.
That's for sure Second down and five yards to go for black Hawk Warren in Ithaca Western territory 310 remaining in the opening half scoreless here at We're gonna send one man wide to the near side that stuff occur
Odder under center three men in the backfield.
There's the snap from center handoff going to number 12 He's it is going to be on the ground.
I think black Hawk.
We're back.
Yeah, black Hawk Warren
He he fumbled it and retreated it Brody our goal and that is enough for a first down So the sticks move again inside the 20-yard line a bit to go Weston at around the 17
So that was a trick trick play there.
He hadn't had it all day.
He had not know Everybody expecting it to be Paquin and they go with Argel under center again his partner awaiting the snap from center There is this nap handoff Paquin going off right tackle and hugged by a couple of guys and brought down He did get a couple of yards ahead to around the 15 yard line gain of two on the play Tackle made by Isaiah Fargent
and company and Braxton foul and Spencer Nelson second down play and about eight yards to go for Black Hawk Warren inside the Ithaca Western 20 right around the 15 yard line And they're up they have those close gaps between the linemen feet and three men in the backfield are waiting to snap and the quarterback is going to hand off first man through bowls his way to the right cutting back to around the 11 yard line
Tackled made by several Weston players, including Braxton fowl number 50 third down play
gain about five yards there be third down a three
Coming up at halftime the Dairyland transportation high school sports update quick moving half So now both teams had a chance to get it into the red zone tonight red zone Trip is sponsored by wurts plumbing and heating once again
Third down and three for black Hawk Warren 115 remaining in the opening half awaiting the snap from center.
The line is set There is the snap from oh, he is going to be called for a flag.
I think illegal motion
legal motion now against black Hawk That'll be a five-yard penalty repeat third down
It takes it back Potter the quarterback was trying to signal if you notice that with his foot he was kind of bringing it back and then I think somebody
in the backfield, maybe jumped, flinched or something.
Yeah.
It'll be third down and eight.
Sometimes you can draw your own guy off.
Yeah.
Doing those kind of things.
Third down and nine yards to go now.
Um, it looks like third, nine or around eight, 50 seconds remaining in the half man in motion from the far side.
Partner takes the snap quarterback going to keep it himself trying to get around the end.
And he is stacked up by either go Weston and he is brought down for a loss of a couple.
It looks like they haven't.
move so I don't think no gain on the play
Ben Otto is there and several of his friends Hayden Burns timeout taken by Black Hawk Lauren 32 seconds remaining and we're going to keep it here this is a fourth down isn't it yes fourth down so fourth down and it's interesting both teams kind of in similar situations you drive deep into the others territory and then your face with a fourth down and you got to try to convert here
So we'll see what
the quarterback keep that one that time.
handoff?
And I think it was, I think it was partner again.
Okay.
Or not, I'm sorry, not partner.
The, uh, the big guy, Penguin.
Um, so anyway, fourth down and about nine yards to go and play resumes.
And interesting, I talked to them this week, they said they had added a few wrinkles and I wonder if that half back option that was intercepted may have been one of the plays they put in.
Spencer got hit, he was rolling out and got hit by a defender and then he lost his balance and then when he threw it.
He
short.
Big play here in the first half, maybe the biggest fourth down or about nine yards to go.
That's at the 16 yard line of it.
Go Weston quarterback.
Podder rolling to the right side.
He's got a little time and then whips it toward the middle.
It's up in the air tipped around.
Who has it?
Touchdown.
Black Hawk Warren.
How did they get that away
from the defenders?
I do not
Joe catchpaw hauls it in.
The Weston was all bottled up inside there somehow.
The receiver got it.
Coach Maxwell looks at the sideline and just throws his hand up.
It's like how did he get that one in there?
That was impressive So a six-nothing lead for black Hawk Warren goes as a 16-yard score and Podner throwing again to catch ball I don't think we've called his name a lot tonight in the right place in the right time They'll go for two with 24 seconds remaining here in the first half So the quarterback
Will take the snap from under center on the two-point conversion man in motion cutting to the left side There's the handoff penguin untouched in for the two-point conversion So eight nothing black Hawk Warren takes the jump 24 seconds remaining in the first half playoff football tonight from WRCO WRCO comm

That one big gainer
They will kick off with 24 seconds remaining in the first half up by a score of eight nothing Here's the ball staying on the ground picked up by Ithaca West and they slip at the 35 and now a little bit of return and Getting it out.
It is going to be lost and on the ground.
I think black Hawk Warren got it back
Well the return man kind of carrying that out there in one hand
have two timeouts so I saw they can air it out here
They'll break committee and head to the football if they go Weston back in the defensive secondary they've got man coverage on the near side and Looking it over is the quarterback bowl podner Podner under center awaiting a snap.
There it is handoff running play Pequen slips to the backfield and they make sure he stays down No gain and play So that'll take it to eight seconds and I think they're gonna be content with an eight nothing lead here and in this game.
I would be too
Just as I say that they take a timeout with 2.6 seconds remaining So black Hawk Warren go into the sidelines and one possible one more play coming up here from the raised do-it-best center and Rockwell automation Sports desk eight nothing black Hawk Warren.
It's been a good game.
That's for sure.
Yes
I was doing the rough enough playoff game of Platteville at halftime.
You, you were doing the broadcast here and it was, uh, seven minutes going to third quarter.
We just reached halftime.
Okay.
Right.
That's a beautiful place down there at Platteville, isn't it?
Wonderful.
Like a college stadium.
They used to play at the college, but now they have their own second down play, second and 10.
Right around the 48 iron Black Hawk Warren, maybe the final play of the first half.
Podner gonna air it out.
He's got a whole bunch of wide receivers heading up field and now he rolls to the near side.
Podner gonna stop and gonna throw it across the field.
He's got a man at the 35.
It's caught and he is brought down at the 36.
Now be halftime.
Brody Argo with the catch.
brought down by Jacob Keller and that will do it.
Eight nothing.
Black Hawk, Warren Leeds, Ithaca-Weston during a well-played first half.

I think they look really strong.
Margaret's kind of been dealing with some foot stuff on and off throughout the year, but she's been handling that really well.
Owen seems to be really strong and I think we're going to get there Saturday and expecting them to run really well.
You don't have a team there this year, but you'll have a team of people backing them, won't you?
We will.
We will have a community of support.
Their teammates will be there cheering them on, the coaches.
And yeah, we wish we had a team there, but we know they're going to represent us well.
How do their times look for what you've seen with the other athletes coming in from around the state, Eric?
Yeah, they stack up really well.
Owen's right in that top 10 mix, and that's what it's going to take to get a medal.
So we're hoping he can kind of follow through on that, maybe even pick off a few people in front of them.
Uh, Margaret's, you know, maybe low twenties based on season best times, but the way she's been running in October, uh, we wouldn't put that out of the question that she could finish in that top 10 too.
So I like both of their chances to have really good races up there.
learned a lot
that.
I think you're optimistic he can finish strong this year.
I think so.
I think we managed the workload a little bit better this year.
He's running smarter.
He was able to pick his moments.
When does it matter?
When can we kind of save a little bit maybe for the next race?
So I think it's going to be a completely different outcome this year.
And to his credit, he gave everything he had last year.
And we know it's going to be the same thing this year, but a better outcome.
Eric

Well, in the area, um, let's see, I mean, Darlington, you know, down in the, the swall, uh, they'll take on Winnebago Lutheran, Winnebago Lutheran is a solid team out of the flyway, but you know, the way Darlington has been playing, I just don't see a ton of, um, potential there for, for an upset.
Um, in terms of our SWC teams didn't, didn't fare too well, unfortunately for the, uh, for the SWC.
So not, uh, not a lot going on there.
Um, you know, really the, the only game locally, and, and I was looking at this the other day because our Reedsburg game is on Saturday.
So I was like, Oh, I'll go to a game on Friday night and there's one game within an hour of Reedsburg and that's the Ithaca game.
So obviously that's going to be a big one.
It's going to be a tough one, um, for, uh, for Ithaca Weston.
welcoming in Black Hawk Warren, a team that, you know, has been one of the better teams in Division 7 for, you know, better part of a decade or more.
They're not a normal five seed.
Obviously they went on the road and be cashed in level one.
So I think that's got a chance to be a really, really good game.
It's a really tough one for Ithaca Weston.
You know, as a one seed undefeated, that's not necessarily the kind of five seed that you want to see.
Um, actually looking at the cashed in game last week, it sounded like cashed and kind of gifted them some points and things like that.
So, uh, I guess maybe there's a little bit of hope for Ithaca West in there that because they beat cashed in and cashed in, maybe could've or should've won that game
Travis.
Yeah.
And it's not like, um, you know, Black Hawk has been a powerhouse this year.
I mean, there are five seed for a reason.
Uh, they've got some, you know, got some losses on the schedule this year.
They've got four losses during the regular season, which is
not what we have come to expect.
But, you know, they lost a close one in a crossover, excuse me, in a conference game to the Toasty Castle.
They lost a close one to River Ridge.
They lost to Iowa Grant.
And then they lost to Stockton, Illinois, who's, I believe, a defending champion or defending runner-up in Illinois, way back in the early part of the non-conference schedule.
So they played certainly a tough schedule.
They haven't been able to get past some of those better teams on the schedule until last week against Cashton.
potential is there, but they've also struggled a little bit this year, obviously.
It is.
You've got, again, if it is the top seed, you've got Iowa Grant as the two seed, and then a team I really like, Peppin' Alma as the three seed.
They've only got one loss this year, and that's to Cochrane Fountain City, who we talked about a couple times.
Peppin' Alma has been deep into the playoffs quite often, and then Cashton, a really good team.
Uh, that went out level one, Black Hawk Warren, who's advanced in Bangor was a six seed.
So absolutely.
That was a really strong group in division seven, probably the, the deepest, um, in, in best grouping of any of the, uh, the four brackets and D seven.
It is.
And.
They get, River Ridge gets Spring Valley this week, who's a really good team.
Two losses on the year.
They finished second in the Dunn-St.
Corey Conference.
Another team that's got quite a bit of pole season experience.
They haven't quite been able to get over the hump to a state championship team for a while now, but they're pretty consistently into level two, level three.
And so it's going to be a tough match up for River Ridge, who a few weeks ago, anyway, announced that they will be
Excuse me, moving to a player when the next cycle of realignment moves around.
So, uh, definitely some changes coming from River Ridge, but for this week, they've certainly got a chance to continue on.
Um, should be a good one there.
Yeah, they do.
Um, Mandovi is, uh, my pick to win state in division six.
And of course, Potosi Castle is elevated from Division 7 to Division 6 because of the success factor.
So a good win over Mineral Point, though.
I mean, man, that was one of the best games in the first week of the playoffs.
26-24 on the road at a Mineral Point team that is really, really good.
Comes out of the swall, obviously.
But it's going to be a tough test for Potosi Castle.
They've got a deep team.
They've got a really good team.
Mandovi has kind of been at a different level for much of the year.
They do have one loss this year.
So, I mean, they're absolutely gettable, but that's a really strong team that has been together for a while.
Their core group is just a bunch of juniors for the most part.
Their quarterback, Bodhi Faulkner, is a three-year starter as a junior already.
They've got a really good group of juniors that, again, have been together for a while.
That's, uh, that's going to be a tough one for Potosi gas.
Well,
Um, yeah, I think, you know, Kenosha, St.
Joseph is the champion in, excuse me, the defending champions in division seven and they also, um, were elevated to division six this year.
They lost a lot from last year.
Uh, and they really rely heavily on Christopher Tennessee, uh, who's a really dynamic athlete.
We saw him.
in the state championship team last year.
And, you know, he plays kind of all over for him.
He plays a quarterback.
He runs the ball a lot.
Again, a really dynamic athlete that they rely on heavily.
Really good defensive player as well.
So it's not totally a one man show, but if Cuba City can find a way to keep him in check, obviously that's going to be a huge part of what they're going to want to do.
I wouldn't think so.
Um, Winnebago Lutheran plays solid competition in the flyway.
You know, they're playing the Myra in Mayville and St.
Mary Springs.
Um, but Darlington, I just think is at a different level than most everyone else.
Um, you know, you might look at that, uh, level one score against dodgeville and kind of wonder a little bit.
It was 35 to 14.
I would have thought that it would have been a little more lopsided, but
It was 35 nothing at halftime.
So it was a running clock to start the second half running clock, um, you know, the entire second half and dodge will score two fourth quarter touchdowns.
I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing darling or Donaldson had, you know, some of their, their backups in, um, and you know, could have been a lot worse, obviously, but, uh, I, I don't expect Darlington to have too much trouble in this one.
Yeah, Lake Mills has a lot of explosiveness, especially in their passing game.
Tyler Waleen recently broke the all-time passing record for career in the state of Wisconsin, went over 100, and they've got a lot of good weapons on the perimeter.
So they're going to present a lot of challenges to Evansville.
Evansville is a big physical team, but Lake Mills, I think, is in a good spot to move on.
Yeah, we're the only excuse me.
I think there's one other Saturday game among the eight player games, but Yeah, one of the few games moved to Saturday Not ideal not what we would prefer you know high school football coaches especially our Creatures of habit would much rather stay on a normal schedule for our the entire week of practice for a Friday night game
So we'll just have to make sure that the guys stay locked in and ready to go.
But New Berlin Eisenhower is a team that has some common opponents with us this year.
We beat New Berlin West way back in week one and New Berlin West beat Eisenhower later in the season.
So they do a lot of things offensively that can cause some problems.
They do a lot of shifting and motioning before the snap and try to get out of position.
But if we take care of business and stay locked in, I think we'll be fine.
Well, in any level of the playoffs, if the travel distance between the two teams one way is more than 120 miles, the default actually is a Saturday game.
And then if both schools agree, then the game can be played on Friday.
And in every other instance, in almost every instance the last six, eight, 10 years, everybody wants to play on Friday.
It's just the normal routine.
It's the normal schedule.
You know, there's no school the next day, so you don't have to worry about getting too far or being too far away.
I mean, even in level one, there was teams that had three, four, five hour trips and still played on Friday.
Why New Berlin Eisenhower wanted to play on Saturday did not want to play on Friday.
I'm not 100% sure.
It's 128 miles from New Berlin to Reedsburg.
So just at that threshold where if both teams did not agree, it's on Friday on Saturday.
And so that's what we're going to go for.
Oh, there's open gyms already regardless of whether you're in the playoffs or not.
Um, that pretty much every school I'm aware of, uh, people are starting to get ready for that, that winter sports season.
As you said, middle school gets going a little bit earlier even.
So we're going to be into, uh, into those winter sports before we know it.
Well, the big one this year for basketball is that you can play with a shot clock in non-conference games if it's available and if both teams agree to play with it.
Richland Center, I believe, just are looking at to maybe they approved even installing shot clocks in Richland Center.
And so there could be some non-conference games in Richland Center this year.
played with the shot clock.
We'll see some around the state.
We'll see some at a few high schools that have those.
We'll see some in winter and holiday tournaments as well that are played at neutral sites or at college facilities that have a shot clock.
So a limited implementation of the shot clock for this year.
And then next spring at the annual meeting in April, the WIA member schools will vote on a full implementation
a requirement for all games to be played with a shot clock.
So a little bit of a trickle for this year and then we'll see what happens.
Yeah, Todd Clark is moving on, a long time communications director for the WIAA.
Jim Strick is stepping in and taking over that role.
I've had a chance to know and work with Jim for a long time.
He was at Nina High School and I worked with the Fox Valley Association and their
communication for all and will do an outstanding job.
He was a PA announcer at a number of state tournament events over the years.
So Jim, very familiar to a lot of the people in the media world.

Their only score coming on a pass play that wound up going inside of about three different defenders somehow got through it.
Might have even hit a couple of hands and caught by Joe Ketchbaw for the touchdown.
Got to give him credit for threading it through there.
It looked like a Rogers Rogers
pass play.
Well, Spencer Nelson leads Ithaca rushing wise, 10 carries for 27 yards.
And Dax Pequen, he has 13 carries for 80 yards, passing King Keller's two catches for 19.
Joe Ketch Paul has two catches for 29 yards.
He's had some runs, but he had one that was pretty significant.
Yeah, 35 yard.
So Ithaca-Weston will kick off to start the second half trailing eight nothing here in the ball game.
And they had a couple of big plays.
The good catch by Plemer that took it down and eventually to the four yard line, but they couldn't punch it in.
Here we go.
There's the kickoff for the second half caught on the run around the 27 yard line by one He's going to the left side trying to break the corner a little running room and now we're a bear hug right around the 44 yard line and brought down So trainer with the return and treat Trent did like linear the catch or the tackle by Carter pleamer That is where black Hawk will take over pretty good field position to start
Yep, row 44 44 yard line.
So partner the quarterback joined in the backfield again by Hyman and Paquin and they're up to the football if it a Western digging in along the line and the whistles sound and official timeout Got an injured player.
It looks like there wasn't even a play other than specialty.
He
must got hurt on the kickoff Trent middling mire
you say he
that return.
Yeah, okay I'm guessing we're gonna see a heavy dose of number 37
so
and then time out as Lindsay Tollexen from sports medicine is Ushered to the other side of the field before play can resume she'll go check on the young man that was a little bit lame going to the outside All right Lion is set and partner set to go from under center
There's the snap fake handoff.
He's gonna
hand off the car.
There's the counter and they've got a little running room and maybe more down the sideline Take when running away from everybody.
He's stiff arms another Keller rushes him out of bounds around the five yard line Wow, I'll be the go Westin Wow He just when he got through and again, he's got some downhill speed stiff armed one guy and had a big big run
And now sets it up nicely for Black Hawk Warren on their first possession of the second half
Yeah, got caught on a trap and a counter there
Yep, and Black Hawk Warren huddling it up here on the near hash mark They will head to the football one man to the near side.
That's catch ball Under center is bullpodner the quarterback
There's this nap from center handoff again Paquin pushing his way Rumblin and Rumblin down to the goal line and he's got a score Paquin taking over here on two plays to start the second half your touchdown run So Dax Paquin they were able to contain him pretty well in the first half but all of a sudden man, he's rolling and Rumblin So a four-yard TD
And the extra point try coming up already 14 to nothing in favor of Black Hawk Warren here in the third quarter They score less than a minute into the quarter and now we'll go for the two-point conversion as they did last time and they went with Pequen on the run Awaiting a snap from center his partner and he's gonna try to keep her yeah, and he's down around the goal line Did he get in no signal yet?
He did he did got in for two points
So that'll do it for that drive and it's a 16-nothing lead for Black Hawk Warren.
Oh, Podner crashes across.
So a 16-nothing lead will go to break and come back with more in a moment.

Yeah
He gets up a little bit late That's where Ithaca Western will take over for its first possession of the second half 48 yard line
Boy, that was there and no idea.
So many teams.
Brian will try to, you know, do some fancy things with, with kicking, you know, or just purposely kick it out of bounds and whatnot.
Um, and that time, I don't know if they were intending to or not, but Nelson made the catch and made a little something happen there.
First intense shotgun snap.
Keller throws near site.
Caden Keller catches.
He's into black walk, war on Torritory, a little bit deeper out of bounds around the 37 yard line.
She looks like I bought a gain of 10 on the play.
I believe it's really close.
They're going to officially they're going to look at it.
They're singling first down.
Yeah,
Yeah, I believe IW is going to have to use her team speed there now to
Well get get some plays going here.
We have a flag
pass interference It's not like the pros we'd get get it down there at the fire guard line Yeah, that'd be better.
Yeah, it will be a first down It's from the line of scrimmage
sorting that out right now.
So it should be on a 38 yard line and.
spot.
Well, it's a 15 yard penalty in high school.
Well, yeah, it's it should be a 15 yard pound to the 23.
They kept going.
They're right.
You're right.
23 yard line first and 10 for Ithaca Weston.
There's a snap Jacob Keller hands off Spencer Nelson cut around the left side spinning his way moving and grooving and he's got a first down Spencer running hard nice run to around the 10 yard line Tackle me on
a 13 yard gain on the play so
Jonathan Heller pulls him down sticks move on again And he did get just inside the 10 yard line first and goal
10-53 remaining in the third quarter ethical Weston trying to respond to that opening score of the half by Black Hawk Warren Spencer Nelson goes wide to the right side Also, Liam Rowan wide to the left side.
There's the snap of the hands and here is Jacob Keller rolling rolling throwing He's got a man.
It's caught like Kate and Keller for touchdown.
Oh nice job by both Kellers
Caden worked himself wide open, Jacob ran to the far side and throw it and Ithaca Weston is on the board.
Boy, nice plays.
And a good response by Ithaca Weston.
They needed that.
They did.
And you know, they just didn't seem like they had a lot of energy coming out of the half.
And now they've got the touchdown.
The fans are kind of back into it a little bit.
Yep.
They got punched in the mouth and they responded while going for two.
All right.
There's the snap from center and Keller hands off fumble the ball is going to be On the ground Ithaca Weston it's still alive and down around the goal line.
They're close.
No, it's picked up by Walmer And they didn't get in didn't get in no almost created something special there Keller to Keller and a score that makes it a 10 point game 16 6 10 30 remaining in the third quarter high school playoff football from WRCO sports

First in 10.
In the round the 36 of Black Hawk war in their home 12 ball goes to the left side and going for a couple of yards Leaning in nothing for our goal good coverage by the Ithaca Western defense.

That guy just is unbelievable.
I'm guessing a cramp in this situation.
Either he had so many guys trying to tackle it could be a leg injury.
looks like an ankle possibly.
So the injury time is in 540 remaining in the third quarter, 16 to 12 in favor of Ithaca Weston over in favor of Black Hawk Warren over Ithaca Weston and the ball marked just about a yard short after that amazing run by Paquin.

And here's the snap to Podner.
Running playoff left tackle.
They are going to be stopped.
Maybe got ahead for a yard.
And into Ithaca-Weston territory of 49.

Second down play, second down right around the midfield line.
There's the snap, partner hands up, left play.
They're going to go for a yard again to around the 48 yard line.
No gain on the play.
Odie Argel is going to be brought down.
I'll give him a yard or two.
Did they give him a yard?
That's when they set you up for that counter coming back the other way.
they
tonight.
Left, left, left.
And all of a sudden here comes
So we'll see what they do on third down without him in there Third down and about eight yards to go ball just across the midfield stripe.
The line is set for black Hawk Warren Long snap count there it is quarterback straight back in the pocket They're gonna push him back to the right side nowhere to go now.
He's gonna throw it in desperation It's gonna be intercepted by either go Weston down to the knees number 54 great crap there by Isaiah Farjan.
How about it?
Isaiah Fargent hauls it in and Ithaka Weston has the football back and Brian the
momentum has swung their way.
Yes it has.
Now the idea of he just needs to stay focused here and have a nice drive and and take the lead.

Yeah,
you've got a flag.
false start against IW
Yeah.
It repeats second down.
So it'll be second down and nine
Good crew tonight, officiating this one.
They've been a lot of games.
Used to interview Vernon Danes all the time when he was head basketball coach of Roku.
Second down play, second and nine, 228 remaining in the third quarter.
Ithaca Weston trailing by four waiting to snap there It is Jacob Keller running on the quarterback on the option on the far side and brought down behind the line to spin Good read It was four on the play black Hawk Warren's bow Janaki and company making the nice play coming up and Caden Stoffecker as well number five and it's third down and 11 for Ithaca Weston Trying to take advantage of that interception.
Yep.
They got a
Just settle down and get a first down here.
Hopefully
Well, I'm kind of surprised.
I figured Jacob would be able to get around the outside, but their defensive ends are doing a tremendous job for Black Hawk.
He had a big catch earlier.
Third down on 11 back to throw.
They're going to get it.
Caden Keller catches behind the line of scrimmage, trying to do it to it in the near side.
Sipfarm's one won't get around the other and not much of a gain, if any, on that one.
No gain.
Well, loss on the play.
Bojaniki on the tackle.
Fourth down and 13.
Loss of two on the play.
Wow.
So nothing going for Ithaca West on this drive and they're going to have to punt it away.
Clock running with just over a minute remaining in the third quarter 16-12.
Yep,
penalty hurt there.
Number five on return
one 40 their own 49 yard line
Third possession of the half 16 to 12 they leave 48 seconds remaining in the third quarter High school football playoff action coming your way tonight.
Mr. Fabulous back at the studios Friendly confines at WRC or radio
Belmont leading Oakfield, 42 to nothing in that game.
That's what I mean.
A lot of games are a little bit lopsided and out of control.
Not this one.
First down, handoff or a lot of play.
Not much.
We're going to get across the 50, maybe to the 49.
Maybe a three yard gain on the play.
A little extra effort therapy.
Number nine.
Bo Janicki on the run.
Good sportsmanship.
I think Oueston helping everybody
out.
Two yards on the play.
run a play here, but
I think we got a flag too.
Probably a personal foul.
Maybe a late hit on bounds.
Been on the far side.
It couldn't tell face mask.
Yeah.
Oh, a five yard face mask.
So that's added on to the
So they're marking it there and it looks like they will get one more playoff in the third quarter.
Or will they nope they're gonna stay in the huddle the clock starts and that'll do it 1612 after 3 we're going to the fourth quarter next down the wire in this one wia a playoff football from wrco radio sports We are making great progress, but there remains a shortage of wia a licensed officials for a number of high school sports in wisconsin and nationwide and

Fourth quarter getting set to get underway here at the finally confines of Ithaca Ithaca Weston doing battle here tonight And it's time for us to get into the fourth quarter exciting time of the game down the stretch for Point lead for black Hawk Warren snap from center They almost fumbled at the quarterback has wrapped up and dropped for a big loss
loss of five on the play I
And you can't hear me Brian.
Can I hear you?
Do I have a line?
Do I have a line?
They're gonna be second down at about 14 yards to go for a first down.
So Black Hawk Warren going back the other way.
And they're running off another big lineman who might have been shaken up by the play Wyatt Hill.
They're back in the huddle right now.
Again, a big loss is Dax Paquin who went out of the game with injury just a little bit ago.
I think I'm life.
Yeah, you're on So hustling to the line they've got the count going by the back line judge So black Hawk Warren has to hustle to get this one off Awaiting the snap there it is hand up.
Nope quarterbacks gonna run it himself throws out in the far flat caught by the receiver Turns down field and he's got it to the 20-yard line of Ithaca Weston look like about a 10-yard gain on the play you're right caught by Bidlingmeyer number 11 on the play
So that will bring up a third down and short from that mistaken or about three I Got a little bit of it back there They haven't been real prolific passing all year, but they pass when they need to and that worked trying to keep the drive alive
16-12 they lead 10 and a half to play in the football game Black Hawk Warren with the ball third down There is this snap quarterback rolling to the right side and shifting and he's brought down what a play by the defense good play that was Mr. Walmer back there to make the stop
fourth down big huge play gloss of
one on the play Landon Walmer back to make the hit fourth down and four for Black Hawk Warren nice play by the defense Open field tackle Bob Duel leading
Belleville 34 14 in the fourth quarter Mondo be also up on pitose Casville 29 13 that's in the third quarter We're in the fourth 16 12 black Hawk Warren.
This is one of the plays of the game is
it is it?
You know you want to stop the run, but you know stay home defensive ends and you know you got to make the play here
Loss of three on the plane the Bulldogs have
stop that
So they will have it for their fourth possession of the half down at the 28 yard line their own Mark that time down Phil.
That's could be the play of the game right there 930 remaining in the football game Burns and company leading the way Lindsay Tolickson getting your steps in tonight coming back from the far sideline Paik went back in for that run so after being pretty much Helped off the field barely under his own power.
He's back in there running the ball
But Ithaca Weston able to stop him shotgun snap Jacob Keller gets a block now is gonna arrow on their side Kate and Keller and incomplete It was just over the outstretched hands of the defender number three bull podner But a second down in ten if you go west and going aggressive there, right?
Yeah, but the defense they stayed home and had two defenders back there
old Ben or young Ben.
Yeah,
There's the snap from Santa rolling to the near side Keller on the run looking looking and then he throws it away as he goes out of bounds Good coverage by Black Hawk Warren all the way and I should out of bounds by Cole Dunleavy Third down in 10
No flag on the play and Yeah, so Ithaca Weston now with a big play coming up.
Here's a good game Aquinas leading West Salem 2928 third quarter Wow Playoff football a slugfest there tonight Third down and 10 for IW heading to the football and Then we're gonna have a whistle and a timeout coach Kelly is gonna use a timeout for Ithaca Weston
16, 12, big third down coming up after this quick timeout.
30 seconds, we'll be back with more in a moment from WRCO and WRCO.com.

Welcome
back to Ithaca Weston 918 remaining in the football game and a big call coming up here for Coach Kelly and the offense.
Third down from their own 28 yard line.
1612 Blackhawk Warren.
All right, the line is set shotgun snap Keller back good block throws it near side He's got a man Spencer Nelson grabs it first down 50
yard line a 20 on yard pass completion
right between two defenders.
to stay focused as a receiver going through two defenders
yardage Six yards
Yep.
He's
and four
No gain there.
I'm guessing we're in four down territory.
eight minutes ago
a first
back.
the lineman move,
Yeah.
they explained it to the lineman wasn't set.
And when the running back went motion
and you got appreciate a coach that stays calm and let's official explain what happened.
Yeah, and this is a good crew.
I mean the
Didn't they do the eight man state championship game?
Yeah,
So I mean, we have a good crew here.
So Tim Lee is a good referee in the back third down play
Ball at the 47 yard line of Black Hawk Warren.
There's the snap out of the shotgun.
Keller stepping up in the face of danger caught.
Over the middle and the Spencer Nelson first down inside the 35 to the 33.
Oh my goodness 15 yards Jacob Keller took a little bit of a shot.
Yes when he got rid of that ball and Spencer Nelson up in the air Brings it down and wills the football to himself 7 10 remaining and the chains move huge huge first down there 16 12 Black Hawk Warren leading Ithaca Weston trying to drive for a go-ahead score here
This is where your conditioning back in August and you know everything you've done through the year kind of hopefully pays off, right?
Yep, everybody's sucking air out there in the fourth quarter.
They've been working hard ready to go There's the snap Jacob Keller tying to take it himself follows a block from Walmer gets a little bit of room, but not
much Jacob didn't have much to go there the defense really on the right side really made a nice play there to
31 yard line of black Hawk Warren 628 remaining clock running as he stayed in bounds If they go west and back in the huddle fans are staying sort of subdued, you know Kind of waiting to erupt here Nervous times.
That's for sure You don't know how many more times we'll get the ball back, right?
Second down about seven yards to go handoff to Spencer Nelson plows off the left tackle for a yard or two
Got inside the 30 to around the 28 yard line Gained about a yard is all there So Ithaca Westin kind of meticulously going at it here trying to find the range Blamer and Keller talking to coach Kelly Looks like Dre's gonna stay in the game And now back into the huddle is Jacob Keller third down and five yards to go from the 29 of Black Hawk Warren
Clock rotating down 5 30 to play tonight four-point lead for the visiting Warriors Jacob Keller under center van Colter set to snap the ball.
There's a pitch play Dre trying to break the corner.
He's got a little he's got some speed 20 15 inside Nithika Weston That's the first time he's gotten the ball isn't it Brian Blake Dre with a run and Like 25 yards there on the play.
How about that?
He's the speedy guy and the sticks move on for Ithaca Weston running downhill trying to take the lead Huge play out of bounds around the 11-yard line first and 10 for IW 16-12 Black Hawk Warren in the lead Jacob Keller back in from the sideline and now into the huddle
That time Black Hawk was pike Ian on Nelson and now it was a good plan to go to
Dray there,
So this is where black Hawk Warren's defense really but Is up there's the snap handoff it Spencer Nelson rolls left not much to the 10 maybe the nine Maybe two yards.
Yep.
I think so They'll unpile He stayed in bounds so the clock continues to run down to five minutes now Thought I heard a whistle They're gonna run back in I thought maybe somebody was taking time out, but no
I
know.
Oh, yeah, there's a lot of girls that do that.
Yeah second down and nine Ithaca Western with a ball at the eight yard line snap from center Jacob Keller rolling to the near side He's looking to run now stops to throw throws it.
It's incomplete batted away right around the four yard line Intended there for Nelson, I believe So that'll bring up a third down
If they go west in it at some point may have to we're gonna throw may have to look to the end zone Yeah,
I could not see that play at this angle
to go.
I went be a surprise.
We've seen maybe number 33 here
Dray in the backfield Keller out of the shotgun Dray stayed into block Keller looking to the end zone to throw throws it caught down around the goal line Down around the goal line.
It's close.
He is at the pylon number five with the catch Liam Rowan touchdown.
It is a touchdown yard Liam Rowan makes the grab an integral Weston takes the lead 18 16 425 to go
Great protection again.
Now they kept Ray in the block and some other guys the pocket was there and Jacob Keller used it.
Well So
we're going it looks like we're gonna kick the extra point here the plumber
happens Carter play murder.
No, I think you need to get the three because it you know a field goal beach, uh,
They're
he's a good kicker.
Keller awaiting a snap from center.
Long snap count.
There it is.
High snap.
Placement is made.
Oh, it got blocked.
It's blocked.
No good.
18-16.
Ithaca-Weston leading Blackhawk war, and while the IWD defenses made some stops, we're gonna have to make some more.
425 to go, we'll be right back, 18-16.
Ithaca-Weston with its first lead in the ballgame here on WRC Radio Sports.

line
right at the 35 I think so return by number three bowl partner the quarterback returning kicks and that is where black Hawk Warren will try to mount a drive to take the lead with 417 to go they take over for their fourth possession of the football game second half here
And we'll see what happens if it go Weston has made some stunning plays on defense here in this game and Getting back into the huddle right now now breaking it out to the line if it go Weston digging in on defense first in ten for the Black Hawk Warren Warriors Here we go waiting a snap from center is the quarterback and there it is and
Hand off and then lost in the backfield and then all is yeah, it looked like it was fumbled there for a moment Nice play by the Ithaca Western defense and the quarterback is brought down two yards behind the line of scrimmage Wow Nice play all the way lost the two on the play coming up through the middle Quintus Banker was in there several others nice play by Liam Rohn and also Landon Walmer boy just really stunning plays up the middle there
Second down in 12 yards to go clock running 345 to go if they go west and leading this game by two points They have scored in this second half three touchdowns To one touchdown for black clock warren and they're gonna use a timeout at time out Phil.
Can you hear me?
I can hear you.
All
right.
Okay.
What's going on?
You just
like I might
there isn't I can't believe it, you know, it's going right down to the wire IW just needs to stay stay focused, you know and stay where they're supposed to be and Make plays and so
And Dax Paquin is not in the ballgame for Blackhawk.
Second down and 12 yards to go.
They're back at their own 32 yard line.
Awaiting a snap from center, there it is.
Hand off, running play going to the right side.
They've got a little room for about four yards, maybe more to the 41 yard line.
Looks like a ball game of six there, Phil.
Ball carrier was Beau Jameke.
Tackle made by Quintus Banker and some of his friends.
Third down at about four yards to go for Black Hawk War on 314 to go in the ball game.
Here they go, Weston, trying to hold them at bay here.
Iowa Grant leading Pepin Alma 38 nothing Travis Wilson thought that might be a closer game than that But Iowa Grant doing it to it tonight third play third and five.
There's the snap and the running quarterback on the right side They've got to try to spread it out a little bit.
He's got a little room puts the shoulder down up to around the 48 maybe a first down.
Yeah, he's got the
See where they mark him out.
He didn't quite get to midfield.
So it's at the 48 yard line black Hawk Warren's 48 First and 10 to 50 to go man alive hang on to your radios here for both sides 18 16 2-point lead for Ithaca Weston here in playoff football and WRCO FM 100.9 in Richland Center, Wisconsin Bill me along with Brian Elvin and Tim feed back of the studios and a first down play for black Hawk Warren
Ball marked at their 48 yard line Looking it over his bow podner of the quarterback.
The line is set There's the snap and he's gonna go back to throw stumbles a little bit now rolls to the right side throws and it is incomplete about ten yards short of the intended receiver That was middling in complete pass.
Yep first and ten makes it second and ten.
Oh, it's a little slow getting up Might have got
Little bit of a hit at the end, uh, right as he threw that ball.
I know Jacob Keller has been really standing in there and has been pretty rough and tumble tonight as well.
So these, these guys can hit.
Yes.
Another hard hitting game.
River Ridge final.
They have defeated spring Valley tonight, 21 seven River Ridge showing that six rivers conference strong.
Always, always just
crazy at conference.
River Ridge has, you know, basically gone to made a state run at five and four to start the playoffs before they're just a,
Great team great conference.
Here we go second down from the 48 yard line of black Hawk Warren There's the snap back to throw bow podner could be a screen it is caught in the middle They've got a little running room and then caught from the other after about a nine-yard gain He
was short of the first down I believe the ball
Yeah Tackled by number 70 Hayden Burns game of nine on the play So yeah, you could see it coming from up here if you go Weston
Everybody kind of biting on that screen and then they threw over the middle.
Luckily, Ithaca-Weston able to stop at 2.15 to go.
Third down from the 43 of Ithaca-Weston.
Third down at about two.
There's the snap running play up the gut.
Number nine.
And
That is Janaki.
And Janaki moves the chains.
It's at the 40 of Ithaca-Weston.
Blackhawk Warren trying to drive for a game winning touchdown here tonight.
I think they have two timeouts left.
18-16 score here in the fourth quarter.
Now less than two minutes.
Black Hawk Warren to the football.
Ithaca Weston digging in here.
IW needs a big defensive play or two or three.
First down, man in motion for the near side.
Bo Podner looks it over.
And somebody moved let's see there's gonna be a false start false start on them.
Yep on black walk Warren five yard penalty Moves it back to the 45 yard line of Ithaca Western
No, no the referees are telling the coach They have an option.
I thought but maybe not they got the clock going.
They got the clock going eight They have the option to have the clock stop or not the defense says of course IW wants the clock to run
45 yard line of Ithago Weston first and 15 a minute 20 to go in the ballgame 2-point lead for IW there is the quarterback going back to throw partner rolling near side They're coming after him.
He's got a man.
It's caught down around the 25 yard line and bones and he's gonna stay in bounds Canaan Keller brings him down first down at 25 catch by biddling Meyer a minute five.
Oh my
18-16.
Ithaca Weston holding on to a two-point lead.
Black Hawk Warren is at the 25-yard line of Ithaca Weston and their hustling guys in.
We've got less than a minute.
Less than a minute to play and they're finally, I think, going to use a timeout.
Black Hawk timeout.
They took a little bit more maybe than they should have.
They take a timeout.
52 seconds remaining in the football game.
We should stay here.
Don't think I think we will first in 10.
This game has been moving along very quickly.
Yeah.
I remember in 2014 was a nail biter here and Black Hawk did the Statue of Liberty played and get a touchdown.
Yeah.
right
Very, very close.
A couple of close calls there as I remember that game.
Down the stretch, but you'll have that when there's just so little Representing you know between the two teams these two teams evenly matched no doubt about it And we thought it would be Black Hawk Warren has had quite a bit of success and the six River teams have against scenic bluffs in Ridge and Valley So if they go west and try to represent and they have tonight, but they got to try to nail down a win here
Black Hawk Warren with a football at the 25 yard line 52 seconds to go two-point lead for Ithaca Weston 1816 I would think it'd be a pass play but I could be wrong partner under center He's rolling.
He's going to the right
side through screen back left here is a
the 19 nice
good
That was Brody Argel with the catch.
35 seconds to play, second down, about five yards to go for Black Hawk Warren.
30 seconds.
Ball is marked at the 20 yard line of Ithaca Weston.
There's the snap, rolling to the right side of the quarterback.
Partner throws on the run, caught down around the 10 yard line.
It's gonna be a first down, caught
by
Weston
and went right
So they've got with the passing, maybe two or three plays yet to go in the game here unless something transpires like a defensive play at quarterback sack or something like that.
Is this their last time?
I believe it is.
I think it is.
So
The scenario is this 18 16 Ithaca Weston with the lead and Black Hawk Warren has the ball on the Ithaca Weston 12 yard line first and 10 at the 12 with 17.8 seconds remaining in
this one and If your defense you don't want to get burned take the penalty it's you know It's just a 10-yard penalty or 15-yard penalty, but in sight here to be half the distance
First in 10 from the 12 yard line of Ithaca Weston.
There's the snap back to throw fakes the handoff throws to the far sideline and overthrew his man out of bounds.
He was wide open to pass intended for Janicki and that stops the clock 12.7 seconds remaining.
So it took a little time off and second down in 10 from the 12 yard line of Ithaca Weston.
This is kind of like a sandlot football.
You're back there playing pass defense and
Trying to not let him score here.
Well,
I don't know if black has a field goal kicker or not
But yeah, I don't know either but that's another consideration here in this one Podner they've gone for the two-pointers both times Podner moves.
I think he moved early didn't he anyway?
He's back to throw looking over the middle and it's gonna be intercepted intercepted by intercepted by number one Caden Keller gets the interception with five seconds to go if it go Western's gonna hold on for the victory here tonight
Kate and Keller slipping out of the back of the end zone makes the grab Yeah, and all we have now is victory formation formation.
I gotta do is take a knee if they go Weston holding on to a two-point lead with 5.1 seconds remaining in the football game Fans have come to life here again.
Oh, it's really rocking down there.
I think everybody was holding their breath.
Nobody was breathing
First in ten Ithaca Western ball is at the eight yard line That's where Keller returned it to awaiting the snap is Keller Jacob Keller takes a knee and that's it This one belongs to Ithaca Western the Bulldogs advance.
They're going to the third round now about it Some of the fans rushing out to the field what a win over Black Hawk Warren tonight comeback win 1816 the final
And this season for Ithaca-Weston continues.
Hugs all around.
Oh my goodness.
What a start for a co-op team.
No doubt about it.
Going to the third level.
Appears they'll be playing host to Iowa Grant next weekend here at Ithaca Schools.
This is a quality win.
Oh my goodness.
18-16, the final score.

Our game coming to you live tonight from Richmond Center.
W-R-C-O.
Good to have you along with us tonight as we broadcast live from here and getting you the opportunity to witness
It's been a very, very exciting game here tonight at the friendly confines of Ithaca.
Again we had a little bit of technical difficulties.
I think we got too excited and threw stuff around here at the end.
Equipment dropping on the floor and everything here people celebrating in the booth, but we're back now and the post game show sponsored by Jelenik plumbing and heating boy Oh boy, so let's recap the scoring as we have the opportunity It was the first score of the night.
It was a 16-yard run Bo padner actually I should say with a touchdown pass 16-yard pass to Joe catchpaw the Dax Paquin two-point run made it eight to nothing
Also, it was a 16-nothing lead when they would score on their opening drive for the first half.
It was Dax Paquin with a four-yard touchdown.
Bo Podner's run made it 16-nothing.
Also, Ithago Western able to answer on the Keller-to-Keller connection.
It was Caden Keller to Jacob Keller making it a nine yard pass, 16-6 the score.
Ithaca Weston would get another touchdown and it was Keller with a 35 yarder to Keller on that one getting the score and Ithaca Weston getting the touchdown on the end to eventually win it on the Keller pass to Liam Rohn, eight yard score and Ithaca Weston goes ahead by two.
All right, we've got some guys up in the booth with us here tonight.
We asked for some guesses
and we got guests here tonight.
So let's see, who do we give it to?
Who wants to go first?
Okay, we got a veteran here.
We got Liam Rowan in the studio with us up here.
Liam, congratulations on the win.
How's it feel?
Thank you.
It feels great.
Yeah, what about, what do you think puts you over the top in this one?
Our motivation.
We were doing it for someone and we all came together through the hard times.
You know, that's what we do.
We all come together.
Turning point of the game,
defense?
I'll be honest, I don't really remember it, but I am bright.
week?
This was the first time we beat them, what we know.
And we came together and we did it.
And the whole community's here.
Our families are down there and we're all brothers.
It feels amazing.
I mean, going down at halftime, being able to come back and rally together really.
It's amazing.
Yeah.
I just got to trust Kate and Kelly to make that catch, you know.
Throw it out.
Liam came up big.
Spencer came up
some of them routes.
Absolutely.
Carter.
Carter that big wheel route.
Carter-Plemer.
No, they were ready for it.
So we had to fully change our game plan and just improvise the best we could.
Did it well?
great.
I mean, I feel like I play with these guys forever.
I mean, it's a family already.
And I guarantee we're going to keep going and we're going to keep playing as brothers forever.
Nice job.
Yeah.
I mean, they're just a physical, hard-headed team.
I mean,
That's what we like to play, though.
Yeah, we were definitely trying to run the ball.
But I mean, we got to rely on our passing, too.
We got to rely on our quarterback here, so.
he?
Yeah, he is a big guy to take down.
I got to give it to him.
He runs the ball hard.
He does run the ball hard.
But like we did, we did a lot of gang tackling.
I don't know.
That's just how we kind of fought through that.
So this is a team of destiny.
I mean, you got another game next week.
You don't care who you play, do you?
No.
We don't really care who we play.
We just want to play.
And I don't know.
We just want to play.
It feels great.
Yeah.
sure.
Oh, it feels great.
It's really important to me that first year is cold and my senior year that we're going so far and doing so well.
Representing the linemen.
it tough in the trenches tonight?
Yeah, of course.
This is probably the best offensive defensive line that we've faced so far.
Oh, yeah, just definitely just big plays here and there that really helped it come back.
So you get the win.
You play
Yeah, it feels great.
This was one of my biggest goals this year.
So great to see it happen.
What side of the ball is your favorite?
My personal favorite is offense.
Yeah.
Good job, Ben.
Thanks for coming out, man.
Thank you.
You bet.
And it looks like Kate and Keller is here.
All right, Kate.
Man, how does it feel?
I mean, you had a couple of catches, but how does it feel to get the clinching interception in the end?
I made a huge mistake.
My guy was supposed to guard number 11, made a huge catch and I was really down to myself.
And then my teammate, Jacob Keller, talked me up and said, keep my head high.
And I knew I had to step up as a senior and be a leader and get that interception to seal it.
And you did.
Were you kind of anticipating where he was going with it?
Oh, I kind of actually did my job that time.
I went with him, and the ball was, I don't know if the ball was tipped, it came really weird, but I intercepted it, got it on the end zone, went down, cause I knew it was over then.
don't even know if I should give that out.
We'll go, we'll go.
I'll pass the quiche on.
done a good job for you.
I mean, my little brother, I know I'm the better athlete, but my little brother, he comes out and he shows up.
But yeah, my little brother, he's all
play.
How fun is that?
Oh, it feels amazing.
I mean, it's been since 2015.
Anybody's made to level three.
First time anybody's ever beat Black Hawk.
And I think we're ready to keep going.
I think we're going to make history.
tough team?
Yeah, I mean, everyone always talks crap like the Six Rivers always talks crap about how Scenic Bluffs and Ridge Valley never have any competition.
And it's just glad to see that we took down
one of the top teams in the six rivers and it just feels amazing.
Good win
Go celebrate.
Thank you, Phil.
All right, buddy.
Thanks for coming up Bulldogs.
Nice job.
A good group of guys up here have belated elated belated wish from the WRCO studios here.
Ryan Alvin is back here.
He's all twisted up, but he's going to go over some final numbers on the Gelenic Plumbing and Heating postgame show.
Brian, if you would.
Well, unofficially.
Yep.
Got me now.
Yep.
Okay unofficially IW Spencer Nelson was a leading rusher for the game 16 carries for 55 yards and passing Caden Keller had eight receptions for 63 yards and Jacob Keller unofficially these are all unofficial 13 he was 13 for 169 yards passing for Blackhawk
Of course, it was, you know, Dax went down and the third quarter wasn't able to play.
That was a big factor.
He had 19 carries for 155 yards.
Okay.
So when he went down, that definitely gave the advantage to IW, but IW pulled out some plays.
made some great
for the crowd or anybody.
Everybody's like sitting on their hands.
And then, you know, after that first drive, you know, it was, it was like, man, we gotta get going.
And it turned around.
got it done.

That's the important score because Iowa grant will be here next week.
And that's going to be an interesting one because they throw the ball a lot.
Yeah, a lot.
And then when he can't throw, he runs.
um,
I'm thinking it was 2015 they went That was I think they got beat at banger.

Now, with all the action, let's go courtside.
All right, good evening.
I'm Ashley Jukri and welcome to the varsity gym inside the Michigan Tech student development complex where we're getting set for some Gliac volleyball between the Wayne State Warriors and your Michigan Tech Huskies.
Michigan Tech comes into this match 12 and 11 overall in seven and five in conference play.
The Huskies are back home after a long stretch of road games, ending with two great wins over the Lakers of Grand Valley and the Lakers of Roosevelt.
A big part of the success the Huskies saw last weekend was due to freshman Reagan Leslie, who put together a huge weekend offensively.
She tallied 20 kills hitting 375 in a 5-set thriller against Grand Valley and 14 kills hitting a whopping 571 in a 3-set sweep against Roosevelt.
and that performance earned her GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors this week.
She isn't the only Husky who put up big numbers last weekend.
Libero Keely Nellis anchored the back row with 37 digs alongside 11 assists across the two road victories, posting an impressive 4.63 digs per set.
She eclipsed a 26-20 dig threshold for the eighth time this year, racking up 23 digs,
during that 3-2 upset over 19th ranked, now 21st ranked Grand Valley.
She followed that up with a solid 14-dig performance in a 3-set sweep against Roosevelt.
On the year, she sits 6th overall in the conference at 4.1 digs per set.
On the other side, Wayne State comes into home and also 12-11 overall with 5-7 in the conference play, coming off a hot win over Parkside Rangers last Friday.
They also had a Gliac setter of the week honor by their leading setter Kayla Dullgar This program is under a seasoned head coach of Tim cough who's in his 13th season with the Warriors He's always kept this team rolling and it is always a fun matchup between these two teams Offensively to the player to watch for Wayne State is McComb, Michigan native Katie Smith
She leads the Warriors with 3.17 kills per set.
And as I said, Kayla Delgar handles a large part of the setting duties with 10.13 assists per set.
Historically, this matchup has gone either way.
The Huskies lead this matchup by one win, 14-13, and are looking to take another win against this heating up Warriors team late in this season.
We'll have plenty more on this matchup coming up.
But first let's hear from Michigan Tech head coach Cindy Pindrell on MIX 93 WKMJ.
Welcome back to Michigan Tech volleyball and mix 93 WKMJ.
The Huskies hosting Wayne State University and Goliath play tonight.
Tomorrow will be Grand Valley State.
Earlier in the week, head coach Cindy Pendrell talked about the big weekend on the road this past weekend as the Huskies defeated both Lakers teams.
Roosevelt 3-0 and the night before it was a reverse sweep against number 19 Grand Valley State University 3-2 win for the Huskies.
Head coach Cindy Pendrell in her press conference earlier this week talked about that.
Yeah, it was a great one.
for us.
I don't think anyone had it on their bingo card of a reverse sweep on the road quite in that fashion, but it was really fun.
The team is just in a really good spot right now, and we've been working very hard in practice and off the court to get in a competitive mindset that we've been bringing every single day.
So I was just really excited to see it come to fruition this weekend.
At minimum, we've been practicing resilience all year.
We've been talking about it the whole time, right?
Of all the five setters we've been a part of from maybe having a poor match or something like that.
immediately rebounding with a fantastic match like our team.
That's kind of been the whole theme of this year, right is rebounding resilience, all of that.
So we've shifted our focus a little bit into be more.
or I suppose less needing to rebound and more of just continuing on a strong path.
So thankfully we have the tools in our toolbox now to know how to react and have that psychological safety of like if we do make a mistake, everything's fine.
You're still going to get fed after the game.
We're still going to be cool after the game.
It's all good.
But, you know, it's just it's working on stringing more and more positive things together and, you know, playing with more freedom, playing more competitively.
So yeah, we're just in a good spot right now.
The play of Reagan Leslie freshman for the Huskies was certainly one of the highlights of the weekend, especially on Friday night in that three to win over Grand Valley State University.
Yeah, that was awesome.
You know, we had to shift our lineup due to a scheduling necessity.
One of our starters had another engagement that she needed to get to for her future.
career.
And so just out of necessity, we needed to play with a new lineup.
And it was just really exciting to see her show up.
That was awesome.
And we were in a meeting with her yesterday, just recapping everything.
I was like, well, what did you see?
Or what did we find?
And she said, and it was awesome because she told me she's like, I could see everything.
I knew exactly where every single defender was.
I knew all the open spots.
I could see the block.
I could see everything.
And that vision is such a challenging part of the game, especially for an attacker because you have to deal with the ball that's coming in at this angle while knowing what's happening at this angle.
So we always joke with the little kids about you kind of have to have goat eyes of different directions, obviously impossible.
to see all the things happening in real time and make very educated decisions.
She had excellent placement on all of her swings and we were looking at her shot chart and Rachel's as well.
Rachel had a very good game in that one too.
The shot chart for Outsides, the program we use, if you see all the lines of where you score, usually if it scores in the court, it's a line and then a dot as to where the ball landed.
But our shot chart was just straight lines, so through lines, meaning it was off the block and high every time, like indefendable balls.
past the block like defenders can't turn and run and get there.
So high hands is always a great place to swing and we definitely executed that over and over and over again and that played a huge part in our hitting efficiency.
Coach Cindy Pindrell also gave props to defensive specialist Keely Nellis.
Yeah, Keely is
fabulous.
When she turns it on and when she decides that ball is not going to hit ground and I'm going to really make a difference in this match, then it's lights out like game over.
She was awesome.
You know, I felt like the first couple of sets, both in Roosevelt and in more so the first set in Roosevelt.
But then the first two sets in Grand Valley, we were all a little bit timid on defense, like not really laying out for things like, I don't know, we say all the time, like one of our corporates will as a play is get dirty or ball doesn't fall without a huge effort.
So like even if you don't make the play just the effort of going full bore for it
your teammates that you're willing to put yourselves out there.
Keeley does so much to lead our team in the backcourt sense of things.
She also has a really good line of communication with our attackers as well because she's not jumping up and hitting, but she has the vision behind the attacker and she's in their ear telling them what shot is available or suggesting shots that are available.
And then there's been a couple times too where a hitter might make whatever play and Keeley will turn around to them and grab their shoulders and be like, you have this instead.
So it's just really funny watching and awesome to see her relationship with her teammates.
She's lighthearted, but she's uber competitive.
So she just has a really good mix of going for it, but also staying kind of grounded and in the moment.
And she's never, she's never too far ahead of herself.
Like she always just takes care of what's in front of her.
The Huskies will have to play Grand Valley State right away again on Saturday.
And tonight it's Wayne State.
She talked about the Warriors.
We haven't seen Wayne in a while.
Wayne has been on a little bit of an upward trend.
They went 3-0.
the crossover, they took down Northern in three.
And then they've beaten Parkside as well.
So they've gotten some quality wins and they're starting to heat up.
So that's going to be a challenging one as well.
But yeah, we're just excited to be at home and have another shot at some conferencing moments.
Head coach Cindy Pindrell, the Michigan Tech volleyball squad, taking on Wayne State tonight, right here on Mix 93 WKMJ.

For Michigan Tech, one of the big things to watch early is whether the Huskies can establish their offense quickly.
Huskies will look to freshman Reagan Leslie who had a standout weekend last weekend to see if she can do it again and get these Huskies rolling.
Rachel Zurich will also be a big piece of the puzzle here tonight.
and then we'll see who else comes to join them.

right, and we're back as the National Anthem finishes up here in the varsity gym at the Student Development Complex.
We're ready for some volleyball between the Wayne State Warriors and your Michigan Tech Huskies.
As we get these starting lineups here for both teams, we will be looking at Katie Smith.
for the Wayne State Warriors.
She has been leading their offense this year.
Outside hitter, taking big swings.
And their setter, Kayla Dullgar, just like Michigan Tech setter, Maddie Crater, distributes the ball really well.
And she has been the Gliak setter of the week this week.
Huskies take the two other honors for Gliak player of the week.
Gliak offensive player of the week, freshman, number eight, Reagan Leslie.
who had an outstanding weekend last weekend against Grand Valley Lakers and the Roosevelt Lakers.
And we also have our Libero for Michigan Tech, Keely Nellis.
She got Gliak defensive player of the week this week.
So this is a matchup of all three Gliak players of the week.
All right, the players are about our shaking hands here, wishing each other good luck.
And we'll get our starting lineup set up here on the court.
Looks like for the Huskies, we have number one, Madeline Elson, number four, Kayla Hanuman, number eight, Reagan Leslie, number 10, Paige Wagner, LaBeiro, number 14, Keeley Nellis.
We've got defensive specialist number 15, Amelia Albers, outside hitter number 18, Rachel Zurich, middle hitter number 20.
Trisha Kennedy and rounding it out.
We've got at setter number 16 Madeleine Crider For the Wayne State Warriors over here.
We've got their setter number five Kayla Dullgar We've got outside hitter that we mentioned Katie Smith number seven We've got number 11 in the middle do a mutta rubu We've got outside hitter.
Let's see if I can find the number there
We've got their libero number two Dezel Berlin game And we'll keep you updated on those two other players out there.
I can't quite see their numbers But we are looking to start off here with the Huskies serving Freshman number eight as we said Reagan Leslie to serve first for the Huskies Her serve is good Handled on the Wayne State side Dullgar sets it out to Smith Smith scores
Great cross court shot there by Smith.
It'll take the Warriors up 1-0.
Kitty Smith will get that kill and she will head back to the service line as the Warriors lead.
1-0, 1-0.
We'll see if the Huskies can start their serve receive off strong as Kitty Smith will serve.
Great pass there by Albers.
It's a little out of system.
Leslie will take a back row attack, roll shot it over.
What will they call?
Wayne State is in the net.
That's a great point for the Huskies there.
That was Lauren Essen Price in the net there.
So the Huskies will tie it up.
1-1 will have number 10.
Junior middle blocker Paige Wagner back to serve for the Huskies.
Paige Wagner with that lethal float serve.
Drops it in.
Handled by the Warriors.
Delgar will set her right side lefty and it goes off the block and in bounds.
That'll be a left side swing from number 15, Katerina Stout.
She's another one of their leaders.
That was a great swing by Stout.
Warriors will go up 2-1 here in this first set.
Warriors will serve.
Great pass by Leslie.
We'll go outside to Zurich.
She'll tip it over, picked up.
Outside tipped over again Huskies Albers handles it outside the Zurich Zurich will get it off the block just a little out of system swing there She gets that point Huskies will tie it up to two again All right checking in for the Huskies is number four Kayla Hanon in and The libero back in for the Warriors Madeleine crater to serve for the Huskies as they tied it up to two
Off pass by the Warriors will go outside out of system.
They're a little roll shot.
Zurich will pick it up off the block.
Will go right side Hanon and she puts that ball away.
Cross cord into the corner.
Great swing by Kayla Hanon and she moved positions here last weekend.
She moved to the right side in place of Jack Jacqueline Yancey.
Reagan Leslie stepped in for her.
She's looking good.
Huskies lead 3-2.
Great pass by the Warriors.
Right side lefty.
She finds the corner there.
That's number 10, Lauren Essen Price.
All right, we got a sub in here for the Warriors.
Number 18, Brynn Mullins.
She'll go back to serve as the Warriors tied up 3-3.
We'll see if the Huskies can side out here and hold their serve.
Somebody's got to go on a run here.
Hanonin passes it.
Outside of Hanonin, she'll roll shot it in.
Warriors dig it.
Oh, we'll run a slide tipped over, blocked.
Back on the Warriors side outside big swing.
That'll be number 10 again Lauren S and price.
She gets that kill for the Warriors.
They go up by one And we will have the same server here Mullins serving for three Good serve Leslie with a great pass.
We'll go outside to Hanon and she's blocked straight down.
That'll be a point for the Warriors
Mullins will serve again.
5-3.
The Warriors lead the Huskies.
5-3.
Brynn Mullins is from Port Huron, Michigan.
And her serve is good.
Leslie a little off.
Will run the slide to Trisha Kennedy.
She puts that away.
All credit to Madeline Kriter.
She set that ball from the 15 foot line on a slide.
That is a quick attack for Madeline Kriter to have to set.
Speaking of Madeline's, Madeline Elson will check in as the Huskies trail 5-4.
Great serve by Elson.
Passes off for the Warriors.
They'll go outside.
Big swing.
Oh, it's dug up by Keely Nellis.
That was a great dig.
Kept alive by Reg and Leslie.
Warriors will hit it again.
Oh, Madeline Alson with a great dig.
We'll go right side of Kayla, Hanon, and she'll have to tip it over a little miscommunication there.
Oh, we'll go outside here for the Warriors.
She's blocked straight down outside again for number 10 for the Warriors.
Off the block, Criter's able to make a good dig off of that.
We'll go to Hanon in here, off the block, and that'll be in the net for the Warriors.
That'll be a point for the Huskies, and they'll tie it up 5-5.
as Madeleine Elson goes back to serve.
Madeleine Elson serves for the Huskies 5-5.
As a great serve by Elson, pushes them deep, but that's an even better pass by the Warriors.
They run the slide, Criter digs it out.
We'll go right side of Hanon, and she goes down the line.
She's dug out.
We'll go outside.
And she's blocked by the Huskies.
Kayla Hanon and Tricia Kennedy teaming up.
for a big block for the Huskies to put them ahead.
Six to five here in this first set.
Madeleine Elson to serve again for the Huskies.
Madeleine Elson serve is good.
She drops it in short there.
Makes the Warriors play it.
They'll run the slide off the block.
Nice and easy pass for Madeleine Elson.
We'll go to Kayla Hanon in on the right side.
She goes off the block.
She's dug out also.
We'll go right side on the slide a little.
missed up there.
Trisha Kennedy digs it off her own block.
We'll go outside to Leslie.
She'll push it down the line and that is a high IQ kill right there.
She was a little trapped.
She could have swung at it, but she pushed that ball over the head of the right back defender and was able to get a point there.
Elson serves again, 7-5 in favor of the Huskies.
Great serve for Elson.
Great pass for these warriors.
They are passing lights out.
Then they get a great cross court kill here by Lauren Essin Price.
She is showing off tonight.
Warrior checks in for Katie Smith, number seven for the Warriors, as they trail 7-6.
And Essin Price will be back to serve.

Paige Wagner will check it in the middle and Keely Nellis will serve for the Huskies as they lead 8-6 here in this first set Great serve by Nellis, but it's just out of bounds.
I thought that was gonna drop in but just long That'll give the Warriors a free point their libero Berlin game will go back to serve Huskies still lead by 1 8-7 We'll see if the Huskies can side out again

Warriors serve is good, but Albers with a beautiful pass, middle to Page Wagner, she scores.
What else do you expect from junior middle blocker, Page Wagner getting Kale's left and right as she heads back to the service line as the Huskies lead, 12 to 10.
Page Wagner with a great float serve behind this line, see if she can pop it in and get the mouse system.
Woo, great serve, but it's out of bounds.
We'll have a serving substitution here for Wayne State.
Doa, Moda, Rue Blue will come in to serve for the Wayne State Warriors, as the Huskies still lead 12-11 in this first set.

Little scramble at the net Zurich will take a swing and she goes cross-court and gets a point kill for The Huskies as they go up 13 to 11 as Kayla Hainonen checks back in looks like Kayla Hainonen's got quite the family in town here as her two Husky alumni Tyler Hainonen and Ellie Hainonen of the volleyball squad and the hockey squad are also in the stands tonight That'll be a Wayne State point off the block of the Huskies
off the block and out of bounds.
Checking back in for the Wayne State Warriors is Bryn Mullins back to serve.
Huskies still up by 1-13-12 here in this first set.
This has been back and forth all night.
Great pass by Hanon in.
We'll go right side to Zurich.
She'll find the cross court and that'll score.
Looks like the Huskies are finding their strength in that cross court corner kill.
Madeleine Elson will check back in for the Huskies as she'll go back to the service line as the Huskies lead by two, 14-12 in this first set.
Madeleine Elson looking to get an ace here.
Great serve, but it's passed out well by the Warriors outside.
Esson Price will go right side on the slide, blocked.
The Huskies are putting up a brick wall tonight.
Two blocks to the other side here.
Huskies will increase their lead by three as they go up 15-12 in this first set and with that they'll take the biggest lead and Tim Kauff will take his first time out and will take a quick time out.

They lead in this first set 15-12.

We'll see if the Huskies can keep pushing this lead.
As we see where the Huskies are tied for third in the GLIAC.

Saginaw Valley, MTU, and NMU all sharing that number three spot fighting for a Gliac first round host game, which would be two Wednesdays from now.
Madeleine Allison to serve 15 to 12, favor of the Huskies.
Her serve is good, but a great pass for the Warriors.
They'll be able to run that slide and they'll get that kill off the block into the sharp cross.
Katie Smith will check back in for the Warriors to play that front row.
And we will have Essence Price, I believe, back at the service line.
Husky's still up by two here, 15-13.
Essence Price's serve is good.
Nellis gets a good pass off of it.
We'll go to Leslie.
She's blocked straight down.
That'll be a point for the Warriors.
They'll cut the lead to one.
Great timeout by coach Tim Coth.
as he got his players back in this game.
Huskies lead, 15-14.
That's in price to serve.
Leslie with a great pass.
We'll go to Hanon in on the right side down the line and she scores.
That's a great shot by Kayla Hanon in.
Great swing down that line.
Splitting the defenders is working here for the Huskies.
Not a lot of cross-court defense going on.
Keeley Nellis will serve for the Huskies 16-14.
She'll drop it in short.
It's passed off.
Well, oh, the center Dullgar will dump that one.
Kryder will set Paige Wagner and she'll get the kill, but that was a good effort by the Warriors.
But a great kill for Paige, an even better kill for Paige Wagner as the Huskies go up 17-14 in this first set.
Nellis to serve again.
She'll drop it short.
It will barrel for the Warriors.
We'll handle it.
Smith with the big...
swing on the outside.
She has got an arm and she is up there.
That is a great kill for Katie Smith.
Libero Berlin game will come in to serve for the Warriors.
Huskies lead 17-15.
Her serve is deep, but it's a great pass by Elson.
We'll go outside to Leslie.
She'll try for that line, but it'll just be out of bounds.
That's a great decision for Leslie.
Just missed it wide.
Even better pass there for Madeleine Elson.
Burling game will serve again for the Warriors.
Huskies still up by one.
Looking to get this, keep this lead.
Kreider will set right side to Kayla Hanonen.
Great cross court swing for Kayla Hanonen, ending in a kill.
Amelia Albers will check in for Hanonen's back row and she will head back to the service line as the Huskies lead 18-16.
This game has never has not yet gotten past three points Fred here, so we'll look to see if the Huskies can take a Aggressive lead here Katie Smith will not let it happen.
That was a great kill for Katie Smith as she Telly's another one Dullgar will go back to serve Huskies still up by one 18-17 Dullgar serve is
Good.
Albers with a little miscommunication there.
Nellis will bring it back into the court.
Leslie will have to free ball it over.
This will be an opportunity for the Warriors and they take it.
That's number 16.
Kylie Wack putting that ball to the floor.
Warriors tie back up 18-18.
Del Garda serve again for the Warriors.
Good deep serve, but Nellis handles it.
We'll go outside to Leslie.
She'll get blocked.
She tries to dig herself out.
I'm not sure how they didn't call that a lift, but Huskies get it back over outside to Katie Smith.
Katie Smith has an arm.
She puts that ball away.
Warriors get up a lead on the Huskies.
1918 and Cindy Pendrell will take a timeout.
and we'll take a timeout.

A little extra communication, and we'll be back.
To serve, Dullgar will serve for the Warriors, 1918.
Huskies are really going to want to get out of this one.
Before we get to 20, the red zone.
Dullgar's serve was almost out of bounds, but Albers played it with authority.
Reagan Leslie will go right side for the Warriors straight down the line.
That's a great kill.
That is an insane kill for the Warriors.
That'll put him up by two.
They'll get to the red zone.
20 points first here.
They'll take the lead up 20 to 18.
Tolgar to serve again.
Albers passes a little out of system here.
We'll go to Leslie out of system.
She'll take a big swing.
It'll go off the block, but it's dug out in the back row.
We'll go right side again that lefty.
I mean, Albers will dig it out.
We'll go outside to Leslie again.
She's blocked, but it's dug out for the Huskies.
Paige Wagner will tip it to the corner, and that'll be a score for the Huskies.
Paige Wagner finds that line in the corner just slightly.
Rachel Zurich will check back in, and Reagan Leslie will go back to serve.
Huskies cut the deficit to 1, 20 to 19.
Leslie serve is good handled by the Warriors will go outside of Katie Smith She's off the block and dug out by Leslie will go to Paige Wagner in the middle She's blocked but dug out by the Warriors tip over the block Katie Smith and she'll get the kill Katie Smith absolutely dominating here For the Warriors as they increase their lead to two they lead 21 19 here in this first set Katie Smith will serve for the Warriors here
A good serve.
Nellis will get a pass off it.
Not great.
Outside to Rachel Zurich.
Dug out by Katie Smith.
Big swing by Essin Price and she'll get that kill.
Amelia Albers not quite ready to handle that one.
And looks like the Huskies are going to take another timeout.
We'll take a quick timeout as well on Mix93WKMJ.

Huskies were leading this set from the beginning, but they dropped off in this red zone here as the Warriors are up on them 22 to 19.
Huskies will look to side out in this rotation and get back in this set.
Lots of volleyball left to play here in this set and in this match.
Katie Smith to serve for the Warriors.
Her serve is good.
Albers is a little out of system, little miscommunication there.
Rachel Zurich will take a swing.
Berlin game will dig it out.
We'll go right side that cross court shot for number 16 Kylie Weck is a great shot there.
It's scoring on that right side Looks like Huskies are gonna make a quick sub here Kayla Hanuman and we'll go in the back row for Amelia Albers Just a little switch up on the passing game Warriors lead 23-19 We'll see if Kayla Hanuman can make a passing difference here as I'm sure they're gonna serve her
And she does not.
She gets aced and the Warriors have set point.
24-19 here.
They will, Huskies will hide.
Kayla Hannon in the service team pattern.
Rachel Zurich will step back to take a pass.
Get Keeley Nellis in the middle here.
See if Huskies can get it.
And the Huskies are aced again.
Warriors will take the first set.
25-19.
Huskies really need a...
stay alive through the end of that set.
They started strong.
They looked good all throughout the set, but they fell there as the Warriors hit the red zone first and got six straight points there.
We'll take a quick break here.
We'll be back for set two as the Huskies lose set one twenty five nineteen.
We'll be back.

for set two of this Michigan Tech volleyball game against the Wayne State Warriors.
Set two is sponsored by Copper Country Ford, where Huskies fall in set one, 25-19 to the Warriors.
It wasn't for lack of trying.
Huskies led in most of that set and then we got to 1919 and the Warriors just took over and got to 25 first.
The Huskies needed to do a better job of executing in the red zone.
They got aced twice
in the last six points of the game.
That is not what we want to see for the Huskies.
On a good note here, Huskies are hitting really well.
I mean, we've got Rachel Zurich, she's hitting 500, but she's only got six attempts so far, so we've got to get the ball to Rachel Zurich more.
And Kayla Hanuman also has four kills, hitting 333, so we've got to get those two, the ball more, and that just comes from passing.
Huskies got to figure out how to hold the serve when we have it, and...
Execute when we are in service Eve starting with the pass Wayne State Warriors Talk about Katie Smith seven swings no errors on seven kills no errors on eight swings.
She started that set 875 That is an insane hitting percentage for an outside hitter Husky's got to find a way to shut that down We've also got Kylie Weck.
She's hitting five
No errors on seven swings, 7-14.
Huskies got to find a way to shut down those two players and they're back in this game real quickly.
Warriors will start this second set with Kayla Dolgar serving their setter.
We've got no score in this second set.
Second set is brought to you by Copper Country Forward.
Huskies will look to side out right away in this second set and start themselves on a run.
Delgar's serve is good.
Albers handles that beautifully.
We'll go outside to Zurich.
She's blocked straight down.
That is a authoritative block there for number 16, Kylie Weck.
She decided to put that ball down.
Warriors lead, 1-0, 1-0.
Great pass by Albers.
Again, we'll go slide to Paige Wagner.
She'll go up and put it over and that'll be a point for the Huskies.
She hit that slide, the dig was about to come over the net and she dinked it back over.
Great kill there for Paige Wagner.
She'll go back to serve.
1-1 here in the second set.
Number 10, Junior Paige Wagner at the service line for the Huskies.
Good serve, great pass by the Warriors.
We'll go to Katie Smith and she'll add another tally.
That'll put her up to eight kills on this set.
Now this will come back in for the Huskies.
And the Warriors lead two to one.
Katie Smith's serve is out of bounds.
Free point for the Huskies.
And she will check out.
As Kayla Hanuman will check back in for the Huskies.
And Madeline Kreider will go back to the service line.
As we're all tied up at two here in this second set.
Madeline Crider great at the service line for the Huskies.
If they can keep her back there, that'll be great.
Ooh, off pass for the Warriors.
We'll go out to S and Price.
She'll go cross court dugout by Crider.
Trisha Kennedy will get the set.
Kayla Haydenham will have to roll shot it over.
Middle for the Warriors, and that'll be a kill for number 13, Nicole Dupree.
She'll check out for a nice serving sub here.
And the Warriors will lead three to two.
Warriors got some funky hats going on on the sidelines here.
I would assume in favor of Halloween.
Leslie's pass is not so great.
Hanuman will set Zurich.
She'll go cross-court.
She's dug out.
We'll go to the middle here.
Trisha Kennedy gets a good block and that'll get the Huskies a point off of a double contact on the Warriors side.
Little middle trying to make a play there.
Good network there by Trisha Kennedy.
as Madeleine Elson will check in for the Huskies as we're all tied up 3-3 here in this second set.
Madeleine Elson at the service line.
Her serve is good.
Gets him a little out of system.
We'll go outside.
Eson Price, dug out by Elson.
We'll go outside to Leslie.
She's a little low.
She's got to tip it over.
Burling game will set up their right side dugout by else and again We'll go middle the Trisha Kennedy and she just finds the net there little miss timing by the center in the hitter there Not a big deal warriors will go up by one here for three We'll have Mullins in to serve for the Warriors number 18 Bryn Mullins Huskies will look to side out quickly here and get on their own run
Good pass by Elson.
We'll go outside to... Oh, okay, Reagan Leslie.
She lost her timing there a little bit, but she just took those last two steps and got up and hit that ball down the line.
Great kill for Reagan Leslie there.
Keely Nellis will go back to serve as we're all tied up, 4-4.
Good serve by Nellis, but she's got an even better pass from the Warriors.
Warriors passing looks great.
Madeline Elson with a diving save there, goes over the net.
Kryder will get a dig, but it's not able to be recovered by her teammates.
That'll be a point for the Warriors.
Katie Smith will check back in for the Warriors, and S and Price will go back to serve as the Warriors leave 5-4 in the second set.
S and Price serve is good.
Leslie with a good pass will go right side of Kayla Hanon in.
She finds that crosscourt, but it's just out of bounds.
That's a good swing for Kayla Hanon in, just barely out of bounds.
Madeline Criter will probably look to set Kayla Hanon in again as she knows that she wants to put that ball away after that near miss.
Warriors lead 6-4.
Good pass by Elson.
Outside to Leslie, she's blocked.
That'll be another point for the Warriors.
They'll go up 7-4.
She's blocked straight down and as the Warriors said, she said no.
So we'll get another serve for the Warriors as they lead 7-4 here in this second set.
Criter's got to find the hot hand.
Find somebody who's going to put this ball away for the Huskies.
Passed by Leslie.
We'll go right side of Kayla Hanon and again she'll go off the block.
Handled by the Warriors, Katie Smith will go off the block and out of bounds.
That'll be another kill for Katie Smith.
Katie Smith has yet to make an error for these Wayne State Warriors.
She's up to nine kills on ten attacks.
As in price will serve as the Warriors lead eight to four.
That serve is handled by Leslie.
Will go middle to Paige Wagner.
She's blocked straight down.
This warrior blocking team is looking great as they go up by five now The Warriors lead nine to four in this second set Husky's got to find a way to pick it up And they're hoping to after this timeout as we'll take a timeout and we'll be back after these messages on mix 93 WKMJ

Husky volleyball is the Huskies are down one set to none and they are trailing in this second set nine to four against the Wayne State Warriors.
Huskies are coming off a timeout here looking to score some more points side out and hopefully get a coaches point here and maybe go on a run to get this second set.
Last time these two teams faced off the Huskies swept the Warriors and it's not looking like that it's going to happen tonight.
Can't happen tonight because the Warriors already took set one.
Let's look at scores around the Gliac here.
It looks like Purdue Northwest and Saginaw Valley, Saginaw Valley swept Purdue Northwest in three sets here.
And we'll get a serve for Wayne State, so we'll come back to those.
Kayla Hanlon and we'll take a swing off the blocking out of bounds.
That'll be a point for the Huskies.
Albers will check in to serve for the Huskies.
as they cut the lead to four, nine, five.
Ferris State is up one set to none on Roosevelt.
Looks like Davenport's up one set to none on Lake State.
And Grand Valley is up one set to none on Northern Michigan.
We're back here.
Huskies will take the swing.
Reagan Leslie doesn't look like the block touch that.
So that'll be a point for the Warriors.
Huskies trail by five here as the Warriors get to ten first ten five in this second set We've got burling game back to serve for the Warriors their libero Handled by Albers.
It's a little great set to Paige Wagner will go up to the middle Leslie will block it We'll go out to Katie Smith.
She'll get blocked but dug out.
Oh Malin Crider will get a kill
She got set there by Reagan Leslie and she got the kill just tipping it right over the block Rachel Zurich will check back in as the Huskies cut the lead of four They trail 10-6 in the second set Reagan Leslie to serve Good serve by Leslie got him out of system almost an ace there will go out to Katie Smith She'll go out of bounds for her first error of the night Katie Smith will get her first error, but it looks like
We're gonna have a challenge.
Tim Koth and his team think there was a touch on that.
So we will stay here for this challenge as they look at it.
We will look at it too.
If you're watching on Flow Sports here, we've got the referee looking down at the replay here.
And we'll check back in with our scores again.
Let's see.
Ferris State and Roosevelt are in their second set.
Ferris State is dominating that.
17-9.
That one... 18-9.
And then we'll check in.
We've got Davenport in Lake State starting their second set.
Davenport leads 2-0.
And Grand Valley and NMU are also in their second set.
All tied up at 4.
Nope, Grand Valley just pulled ahead.
All right, we're looking at this replay here to see if Paige Wagner or Madeline Kriter got a touch off this block.
I don't see a touch.
That went clear over Madeline Kriter's hands and we'll see if the referees agree and they do.
That'll be a point staying on the Husky side.
Tim Coth will lose that challenge.
He has one remaining.
Huskies trail by three here as Reagan Leslie will serve warriors leading 10 to 7 Good serve there by Leslie, but great pass there for the Warriors and they'll go on the slide and down the line And that will be number 11 Do a new to rule glue she is from Izmir Turkey and Dolgar will go back to serve
Warriors lead 11-7 here in the second set.
Leslie with the pass.
Criter will have to bump set it out to Rachel Zurich.
She'll go off the block and she's dug out barely.
Katie Smith will take a swing here.
Roll shot to the middle of the court and a little miscommunication between the Huskies defenders and that ball will drop right in front of Reagan Leslie.
Warriors will increase their lead to 12-7 and Dolgar will serve again for the Warriors.
Huskies really need to side out here.
Great pass by Albers.
We'll go outside to Rachel Zurich.
She'll tip it over the block.
She's dug out by Dolger.
We'll go outside to Katie Smith.
And she will score again down the line.
Huskies need to find a way to shut down Katie Smith.
She is absolutely taking over this game.
And Huskies need to find a way to stop her if they want any chance of getting in this game.
Warriors lead 13-7.
And that'll be an ace for Dolgar.
That'll go off the platform of Amelia Albers and into the antenna.
That'll be a point for the Warriors.
Huskies really need to pass off this set here.
Dolgar will serve as the Warriors lead by 7-14 to 7.
Good serve.
Leslie handles it beautifully.
We'll go to Paige Wagner.
She'll get dug out by Dolgar.
Burling game will set the right side lefty down the line, and that'll be a great kill there for number 16.
I believe that is Kylie Weck.
That is a great swing.
Her libero set her inside, and she's a lefty.
That's her bread and butter.
She cut that back down the line.
Warriors increase the lead to 15-7.
Leslie will overpass.
Go back to the Warriors side.
We'll go right side again to Weck.
Criter will push it to the corner.
She's dug out.
We'll go middle here for the Warriors, and they'll get the kill off the block.
That'll be number 11, Dua Muta Rugu.
Kayla Dolgar will go back to serve again, and Huskies will make a substitution here.
Jacqueline Yancy comes in for Reagan Leslie, as the Warriors lead 16-7 on your Huskies.
Dolgar to serve, and then we'll go in the net.
That was a coach's point there for Cindy Pindrell.
Made a change.
Didn't really matter.
Because the ball went in the net.
Page Wagner will serve as the Huskies cut the lead to 8.
16-8.
Page Wagner's serve is good.
Almost an ace, but it's slide by the Warriors and it cannot be dug out by Yancey.
That would be another point for the Warriors and the Huskies really got to get in this set here.
17-8.
The Warriors lead as Katie Smith goes back to serve.
Huskies need a side out here and get on a run.
They look a little bit down.
Great pass by Jacqueline Yancey.
Swing by Rachel Zurich, no block.
They'll be into the net in an error for Rachel Zurich as the Huskies go down by 10.
18-8 in the second set.
Huskies needed.
Get something going here get back in this set Katie Smith to serve for the Warriors Serve is out of bounds.
That'll be a free point for the Huskies We'll see if they can take advantage of it here as Kayla Hainonen checks back in and Aubrey Garcia will check in for the Warriors Madeline crater back to serve and we've got Kayla Hainonen back in the front row See if the Huskies can find a rhythm here.
We'll go right side
Out of bounds for the Warriors.
Number 16.
Kylie Weck will go out of bounds.
A rare error for her in this set.
Huskies cut the lead to 8.
18-10 they trail.
Critters serve is good.
Great pass by the Warriors.
They'll go to their middle.
And that'll be another kill for the Warriors.
19-10 they lead in this second set.
Huskies cannot hold the serve.
Gotta find a way to figure it out here in the second set.
At least get a little momentum to go into the third.
Served by the Warriors, great pass by Yancey.
Second tempo kill there, or swing there by, and Rachel Zurich will get the kill.
Second tempo swing there by Kayla Hidunin and then we'll go back outside to Rachel Zurich as she gets the kill.
Madeline Elson will check in for the Huskies and we will have Nicole Dupree check in for the Warriors and she checks right back out for the Libero Berlin game.
Warriors lead 19 to 11 here in this second set Huskies are gonna look to keep Madeline Elson at this service line if they can but her serve will be out of bounds so that'll be a point for the Warriors They get to 20 first As we'll have Brynn Mullins check back in for the Warriors 20 to 11 Huskies looking looking down in this second set.
Hopefully they can get some momentum and maybe reset for the third set
It's going to be a hard push to get back into this one.
Outside of Yancey, she'll take a big swing, and that's a great kill for Jacqueline Yancey.
She finds the middle of the court.
Coming in and making an impact there as Yancey, getting a few good passes and a good swing, kill down the line.
Warriors lead, 20-12 on the Huskies.
Now, it's to serve.
Autosystem pass for the Warriors.
They'll go outside to Essin Price.
We'll go outside of Yancey and she'll go down the line and that's in bound.
Jacqueline Yancey coming back into this game and making a difference.
Huskies cut the lead to seven as they trail 20 to 13 here in this second set.
Nellis will look to get another point for the Huskies here.
I'll be a great serve, but it's handled.
We'll go outside to Essence Price.
She's off the block and out of bounds.
That'll be a point for the Warriors.
And the lethal Katie Smith will check back in for the Warriors.
And as Essence Price will go back to serve, 21-13 in favor of the Warriors.
Essence Price serve is good.
Nellis handles it beautifully.
We'll go right side to Kayla Hanon and she'll go off the block, but she's dug out.
We'll go back row attack for Essence Price.
She's dug out by Kreider.
We'll go outside to Jacqueline Yancey.
She's blocked, but she digs herself out of that.
We'll go to Paige Wagner in the middle.
Holy smokes, Paige Wagner.
Gotta give credit to Madeline, or Madeline Krider on that ball.
She was tight off the block, and she just turned her body towards the net and just sat Paige with so much trust there.
That was a great play by Madeline Krider.
Amelia Albers will check back in to serve.
Huskies trail 21-14.
We'll go slide for the Warriors she dug out by Nellis and Katie Smith will get another error here Only in her second of the night.
She went out for an overpass kill and just didn't quite get it Minor error there, but it'll be a great point for the Huskies 21-15 still in favor of the Warriors here Albers will drop it in short gets them out of system a little bit but Katie Smith comes in for that inside swing and She gets a kill
Credit to the warrior offense here.
They're moving Katie Smith's contact point in and out in and out and the Huskies just can't quite shut her down at all.
Berlin game will go back to serve as the Warriors lead 22-15.
Albers will make a great pass off of that.
Jacqueline Yancey will come in.
She's dug out.
It'll hit the basketball hoop.
Warriors will handle it Katie Smith will have to send a free ball Nellis will handle that free ball will go slide to Paige Wagner off the block dug out We'll go outside to Katie Smith show roll shot it over the block and that scores for the Warriors as They go up 2315 Huskies are looking Looking down in this second set they're gonna need a lot of motivation and a lot of drive in the third set if they want to come back from this
Great pass by Albers.
We'll go outside to Yancey.
She'll go down the line in a great kill by Jacqueline Yancey.
Jackie came in to play this game.
She'll go back to serve as Rachel Zurich will check back in for Madeleine Elson.
All right, Jackie, Yancey to serve here for the Huskies as the Warriors lead 23-16 in this second set.
Jackie's serve is good.
They'll go outside.
to Katie Smith, but that will go out of bounds.
They brought Katie Smith inside again there, but Paige Wagner and Madeline Kreider were ready for that one.
And the Warriors will take a timeout here as they lead 23-17.
They're looking to get two more points here, and we will take a quick break on Mix 93 WKMJ.

Second set, second set is sponsored by Copper Country Forward.
Wayne State Warriors took this time out, but they are still up by six against these Huskies.
23-17 in the second set.
They also lead one to nothing in sets.
Huskies are looking to just gain some momentum.
They might not get this one, but looking to get some momentum to go into this third set.
Huskies, Jacqueline Yancey, senior.
Outside hitter number 12 will go back to serve Huskies will look to hold Jacqueline Nancy at the service line for as long as they can Which is not very long because her serve is in the net Wednesday will have set point here 24 17 In the varsity gym at student development complex for Goliak volleyball
Dolgar to serve.
Nellis with a great pass.
Outside to Zurich, she'll have to roll shot it.
We'll go outside to Katie Smith.
She'll have to tip it over.
We'll go right slide on the slide for Paige Wagner.
Katie Smith with a set.
Paige Wagner will go up for the birthday ball and that'll be in bounds.
Great swing for Paige Wagner as she gets that crucial point for the Huskies to keep them in there for another point.
Warriors have set point here 24-18 as number 10 page Wagner goes back to serve Page Wagner serve is in the net That's two miss serves in a row to end that set Huskies just did not look alive in that second set as they fall 25-18 They never held the lead in that set
And they're going to have to come out real hot in this third set if they are going to find any success.
And we will come back after a few messages on Mix 93.
You're listening to Michigan Tech volleyball on Mix 93 WKMJ.

With the cooling nights fast approaching, my thoughts go to the sauna and all of the great sauna supplies we just got in at Swift Hardware.
I also think about the weather stripping and those furnace filters.
Swift has a great selection of both.
Thinking about putting my gardens to bed and putting that winterizer on the lawn too.
And I still have to fill those cracks in the driveway before I get the driveway sealer on.
Swift Hardware has all the fun to get all these fall projects finished.
Come on down to see us.
We are here seven days a week.

All right, we're back.
Getting ready for this third set with Husky Volleyball as they trail two sets to none against the Wayne State Warriors.
They lost that first set 25-19 after leading most of the first set and then the second set.
Huskies looked like they came out a bit flat and they lost that one 25-18.
Looks like we've got McKinsey Crider down there serving for the second set challenge as Madeline Crider's sister.
But yeah, the Huskies in that second set.
The Wayne State Warriors held the Huskies to 0-88.
Hitting percentage and though they the Wayne State Warriors hit 273 Michigan Tech had 10 kills in that set.
So it wasn't a bad one But their errors on the swings were what killed it for them and they're passing They just couldn't quite get in system Madeline critter Quinn couldn't quite Set her offense as she usually can
And if we look on the Wayne State side, I mean we've got to talk about Katie Smith.
She's got 14 kills only three errors all three of them a little bit silly and On 19th when she's hitting 579 for an outside hitter the Huskies have no answer for her and then both their middles are hitting a thousand and SN price was doing really well and she kind of fell off a little bit
So the Huskies have some hope here.
They just got to find a way to shut down Weck and Smith here.
Weck is attacking on that right side with that left lefty swing.
Huskies have a few lefty players.
They should be used to play in defense against that but Got to shut down Katie Smith and and Kylie Weck if Huskies want to pull off this third set win and maybe come back in reverse sweep They did it last weekend after two two
sets that weren't that great in the beginning against Grand Valley.
So they just got to come out with some energy and some fight in this third set and see if they can take over.
There are good things happening on the Huskies side.
If we can get that pass rolling, we've got Paige Wagner hitting 357.
Jacqueline Yancey checked in.
Got three kills on five swings, hitting 600.
Trader herself is getting some scores.
We got to get...
Kayla Hanon and Rachel Derrick heating up here.
And we got to get our offense going so that we can hold some points here for the Huskies.
Again, the Huskies trail two sets to none here in this second set, or here in this volleyball match.
And we're about to get started with this third set.
Hopefully the Huskies can pull this one off and pull off the Wayne State Warriors from taking the sweep across them.
They swept the Warriors last time.
The Huskies won.
It looks like the Huskies might come out with a little more energy here.
We've got Rachel Zurich hyping everybody up.
Getting them ready to go.
Kayla Hanodin is telling them let's go.
I can see her expression on her face as she talks and Rachel Zurich as well as we get set for this third set.
They're talking they want to take over this game.
Second set was a little flat for the Huskies.
They want to take over this game.
Warriors will start in rotation one here.
I believe the Huskies will have the serve though, and I believe it'll be Kayla Hanonen to serve first for the Huskies as she starts.
Oh, looks like they made some switches here.
It looks like they made some switches here.
So Kayla Hanonen will be back on the outside for the Huskies, and I would assume Jekyll and Yancey will be playing right side for the Huskies as Kayla Hanonen is serving for the Huskies.
as we start this third set.
Good serve for Hanon and it's almost an ace.
They'll have to send a free ball.
Albers will handle it.
We'll go right side.
Slide for Paige Wagner.
Dullgar will dig it out.
We'll go outside for Katie Smith and it's blocked down.
Madeline Criter and Paige Wagner and the Huskies are excited.
That is the first time that the Huskies have blocked Katie Smith and shut her down.
We have to hold that if we want to pull off this win.
Kanoanen will serve again 1-0.
They'll go off the ceiling outside of Katie Smith and she gets the kill.
She did not like getting blocked.
She went cross court off of the platform of Keely Nellis and that'll be a point for the Warriors.
Huskies look to have a lot more energy here to start this set.
We'll see if they can maintain it as Katie Smith rotates to the back row to serve 1-1 in this third set.
Good serve.
Handled by Albers.
We'll go outside to Zurich.
She'll roll shot it to the corner.
That'll be a kill for Zurich.
If the Huskies can keep making smart plays and put in the ball in the right position, we'll be in a good place.
Paige Wagner to serve as the Huskies.
Take a lead, two to one.
Junior middle blocker Paige Wagner will serve.
We'll see if the Huskies can hold her at the service line with no libero on the court for them.
We'll go right side on that lefty.
She'll find it.
Kayla, head on in with the great dig.
We'll go outside to Zurich.
She'll tap it over and it'll hit the block and it'll score.
Smart shot there for Rachel Zurich.
She took some speed off it, rolled it off that block and it was able to get that ball in play.
Huskies take an early lead.
3-2.
Sorry, part of me.
3-1.
Paige Wagner to serve again for the Huskies.
They can stay.
get some points here, and an overpass kill for Kennedy.
That comes from a great serve from Paige Wagner, causes the Wayne State Warriors to overpass, and Trisha Kennedy has what we call a birthday ball.
Puts that away.
Huskies lead, 4-1.
A lot more energy in this third set.
Good serve for Wagner, handled by Burling game.
We'll go right side to whack, tips it over the block, and it'll go off Rachel Zerch's hands and out of bounds.
That'll be a point for the Warriors.
Warriors will, Huskies lead four to two.
And the Warriors have the serve here.
Serve is good.
Oh, beautiful pass by Albers.
We'll go slide to Kennedy.
She's dug out.
We'll go right side to Wack.
She's brought straight down.
That'll be Rachel Zurich and Trisha Kennedy as Jacqueline Yancey gritties onto the court.
And she'll sub in.
Play right side here.
Madeline Criter will serve for the Huskies.
Five to two.
Huskies are looking to take this set over.
Great pass will go outside for Essence Price.
She's dug out by Hanuman.
Put back up for Rachel Zurich.
She'll have to roll shot it over.
Great dig for the Warriors and they'll go down the middle.
Great dig out by Nellis, but it's overpassed and we'll go off the block and out of bounds for the Warriors.
That was...
Kylie Weck, that was a great smart play by her off the block and way over the hands of any of the defenders.
Point for the Warriors.
It'll be 5-3 still in favor of the Huskies.
Huskies will look to keep this lead with a quick side out.
There'll be one pass here.
There's some confusion on the score table here.
We're looking to figure it out.
Not sure what's going on.
We'll look to some other scores around the Glyak here Looks like the Waynes the Ferris State Bulldogs are about to pull off a Sweep against the Roosevelt Lakers as it is 20 to 6 in that third set.
I'm sure that one will close out here soon and For Davenport Lake State Lakers Davenport is up
two sets to none as they start their third set.
Similar to us starting our third set here with the Huskies.
And Grand Valley and Northern are hanging in there, but Grand Valley leads two sets to none.
But the Northern Michigan Wildcats are looking to creep back in.
They only lost that second set by six points, 25-19.
So they're hoping to stay in that set.
And here,
The Huskies are looking a lot more fiery and will have a lot more motivation here in this third set as they're up by two five three.
We have some confusion at the refs table at the score table so we're just figuring that out here.
Hopefully this doesn't slow down any Husky momentum and looks like they got it figured out.
Warriors to serve so maybe that'll ice the Warriors here as they have possession.
Huskies lead five three.
Good serve for the Warriors, but Rachel Zurich with the great pass.
Jacqueline Yancey with the second tempo middle ball there.
We'll go outside to Essence Price.
She's blocked straight down, but they'll dig it out.
Essence Price will take a roll shot.
Criter will take that dig.
Oh, Trisha Kennedy with the back set to Rachel Zurich.
We'll go outside to Essence Price.
She's blocked, and that's in bounds.
That is a great block for the Huskies.
Tim Cough looks like he might challenge, but he's not going to.
That ball was in.
Madeline Ellison will check in for the Huskies as they take the lead up to six to three.
Madeline Ellison will serve.
That was a great block combo by Jackie Yancey and Trisha Kennedy.
That's a great serve by Madeline Ellison.
We'll go outside to Essence Price.
Oh, she's dug out down the line by Kreider.
We'll go outside to Kayla Hainonen.
She's blocked, but dug out by Ellison.
We'll go right side to Jackie Yancey off the block.
Warriors will dig it out.
We'll get tip.
Keely Nellis will set Jackie Yancey off the block and she's dug out again.
It'll be a free ball here for the Huskies.
Opportunity to score will go Kayla Hanronen in second tempo off the block and out about, that'll be a point for Kayla Hanronen and a point for the Huskies as they lead 7-3 in this third set.
We're looking to 3L here.
Elson to serve again for the Huskies.
Huskies are looking hot in this third set.
Will they keep this momentum?
Great serve hitting the passer in the chest there by Elson, but it'll tip back over the block by Esenpreis and that'll be a point for the Warriors.
Katie Smith will check back in as Esenpreis goes back to serve.
Huskies still lead 7-4.
Looking to side out quick here on this Esenpreis serve.
Warriors have gotten a lot of points in this rotation with number 10 serving.
Great.
Passed by Elson.
We'll go outside of Hanon and she'll take a big rip.
We'll go off the block dug out by Burlingame.
We'll go on the slide.
No touch, but it'll count as a block for the Huskies.
I believe that was all Tate there on that slide.
But either way, Husky point.
Huskies lead 8-4.
Nellis back to serve.
Good serve by Nellis.
Handled by Burlingame.
We'll go on the slide A again.
We'll get a free ball sort of play for the Huskies.
Page Wagner in the middle off the block and down.
Big kill for Page Wagner.
As the Huskies take their lead, 9-4 in the third set as they trail two sets to none.
Tim Cough will take a timeout and will take a quick timeout as well here.

Second tech volleyball as the Huskies are looking a lot better in this third set as they lead nine to four.
In the third set here, a lot more energy on the Huskies side, shutting down players on the Wayne State side.
Huskies are serving well, passing well, and it's allowing Madeline Criter to set that offense.
Looks like she's talking to her players on how she can maintain that.
As Keely Nellis will serve, number 14, the libero for the Huskies.
Warriors will try to stay in this set, see if they can still pull off the sweep.
It's early in the set, but Huskies have all the momentum, nine to four.
See if Nellis can stay at that service line.
Good serve, great pass for the Warriors.
Outside of Katie Smith, that's a great block, touched by Yancey there, slowing it down, middle of the page Wagner, she's dug out.
Will go outside of Katie Smith again, inside, off the block, dug out by Elson, great recovery by Kreider.
Hainan and will free ball it over, but then we'll go inside to Katie Smith.
Oh!
Criter tries to get the dig.
And just off the side of her platform, but good defense by the Huskies.
Hanging in there against that big swing, Katie Smith.
Burling game to serve here for the Warriors.
As the Huskies still lead, 9-5.
Huskies look to side out real quick here.
Great pass by Elson.
We'll go right side to Jacqueline Yancey.
She'll go off the block and nobody digs it out.
That would have been an easy dig for Paige Wagner, but she thought Kayla Hanon had it behind her.
No big deal.
Huskies lead 9-6 here.
Warriors to serve.
Burling game to serve for the Warriors.
Jacqueline Yancey with the great pass will set her.
Tip off the block and out of bounds!
Point!
Huskies!
Jacqueline Yancy will check out as Amelia Albers will check in to serve Huskies lead 10-6 in this third set Albers serve is good and it'll be an ace off the platform of us in price Amelia Albers with the ace for the Huskies as they go up 11-6 Huskies are really taking over in this set energy looks high
Momentum is all in favor of the Huskies.
Albers serve is good.
It'll be a great pass for the Warriors as Katie Smith will take a great swing, but she's dug out by Elson.
We'll go outside to Hanon in over the block and tip scores for Kayla Hanon in.
Huge momentum shift here for the Huskies as they lead 12-6.
Kayla Hanon in finding that spot off a great dig from Madeline Elson.
Let's talk about that.
Great serve by Albers, and she gets the almost ace, but it'll be a free ball for the Huskies.
Albers will take that with her hands.
We'll go outside to Hinonen off the block.
She's dug out.
We'll go middle for the Warriors.
She's dug out.
And the Warriors will tip that block overpass back over.
That'll be a point for the Warriors.
Dullgar will go back to serve.
This is the rotation that the Huskies want to get out of quickly.
Dullgar is great at that service line, and she's great when she's setting from the back row.
Huskies will look to side out here.
I imagine that if we get a good pass, we'll go slide to Paige Wagner here.
Madeleine Crider off.
We'll go to Kayla Hanon in.
Big swing.
She's dug out.
We'll go right side to Weck down the line and out of bounds.
That'll be a quick point for the Huskies.
They are siding out way better in this third set.
We've got Kayla Hanon in, back to serve.
And Rachel Zarek, just who we want back in the front row for the Huskies.
Good serve by Kayla Hanonen.
And miscommunication on the Wayne State side causes a free ball.
We'll go outside to Rachel Zurich.
She'll tap it over.
Dug out by Berlin game.
We'll go outside to Katie Smith.
She'll take a cross court shot.
Dug out by Hanonen.
Great dig back in system.
Zurich will go down the line.
It'll be a score for the Huskies.
Got to give credit to Kayla Hanonen.
She was moving on that play, but she set that platform back and brought that pass.
that dig back into play.
He was able to get a great set to Rachel Zurich as the Huskies go up by 7.
14 to 7 here in this third set.
Tim Kauff and the Warriors will take a timeout, so we'll take a quick timeout as well as the Huskies lead here in this second set.
You're listening to Michigan Tech volleyball on the voice of the Huskies.
Mix 93 WKMJ.
Fine Line Tire is a place to go for tires and brakes and a whole lot more.
Fine Line Tire in Hancock and Fine Line Tire Express in Houghton.
Tires, brakes and a whole lot more.
Fine Line Tire is a place to go for tires and brakes and a whole lot more.
Alright, we're back with Michigan Tech volleyball.
This third set is all Huskies.
14-7 here in this third set.
Huskies, we're looking a little shaky here in this first and second set, but this third set they have taken over.
They moved Kayla Hinanen back to the outside, put Jacqueline Yancey back in on the right side, and they have taken over this set.
Speaking of the Huskies, we got to talk about Paige Wagner here.
She is making big swings and taking...
Big blocks here.
The Huskies block looks a lot better in this second or in this third set.
So Hanuman will serve She's passed out Smith will take the swing and that was Called in bounds, but I think that was out of bounds, but Huskies will not challenge as they still lead 14 to 8 So Katie Smith will serve for the Warriors as they got that point
Good serve handled by Nellis will go slide to Paige Wagner.
She's blocked and I bound that'll be a point for the Huskies All right Trisha Kennedy will check back in as Paige Wagner goes back to serve Trisha Kennedy checking in with her signature dab as Paige Wagner will serve 15 8 in favor of the Huskies
Good serve by Paige Wagner gets them out of system.
Esenpreis has to make the set to Weck.
Dug out by Albers.
Will go outside to Rachel Zurich.
She'll tap that one over, but it's dug out by Burlingame.
Tipped over by the middle there for the Warriors.
Will go outside to Rachel Zurich again.
She goes cross-court.
She's dug out by Burlingame.
Great swing.
Great dig.
Will go to Weck and Weck.
Will Weck it out of bounds.
That'll be a point for the Huskies as they increase the lead to 8-16-8 in the third set.
Page Wagner to serve again for the Huskies.
Tim Cawth is expressing some frustration here for his team.
A system pass there for the Warriors and then Katie Smith.
Oh, that's in price.
We'll have to tap it over.
We'll go to Church of Kennedy and she puts the ball away.
Great swing there by Church of Kennedy to take the Huskies lead 17-8.
This is a reverse to what happened in the second set there.
Third set.
Huskies have flipped the script.
Page Wagner's serve is good.
Handled by Burlingame.
They'll go right side of Wax.
She'll go cross court.
She's dug out by Albers.
The one handed save.
Rachel Zurich will tap it over.
They'll go middle there.
Dug out by Hanon and we'll go to...
Little miscommunication, misset there.
Rachel Zurich taps it over.
We'll go to Weck.
Weck is blocked and straight down.
Point for the Huskies.
Good work at the net for the Huskies.
Keeping clean at the net and putting balls down.
Huskies increase the lead to 18-8 as they look to take control, take over this.
They already have taken over this third set.
Paige Wagner with the serve.
Great serve.
Outside of S and price block dugout.
Oh, but can't recover it little miscommunication there between Kayla Hanuman and and Amelia Albers, but no Fret here Huskies still lead by nine as The Warriors will go back to serve Huskies lead 18 and nine here We'll see if the Huskies can side out quick and keep their momentum on their side Last thing you want to do is give the other team some momentum here
Rachel Zurich will tap it over.
She's blocked.
We'll go outside to Zurich again.
She'll go cross-court off the block.
Doug out.
Dolgar will set.
Eson Price and she scores.
That was a good swing.
Kale Hanuman's just got to stay a little deeper on that ball.
Eson Price will get the kill there.
Huskies still lead 18-10 here in the third set.
Got a side out.
Keep the momentum on their side.
Can't give Wayne State any room here.
Kayla Hanon passes that one.
We'll go outside to Zurich.
Zurich will go into the net pretty handedly there.
Gave that point right to the Warriors.
18-11 here in this third set.
Huskies still leading, but they can't let Wayne in.
Nellis with a great pass.
We'll go to Kennedy here.
She's blocked straight down.
Huskies need to side out here.
Too many points in a row for the Warriors, but they still lead 18-12.
Letting up in this set is the last thing they want to do though.
They've got to keep the momentum on their side.
Good pass.
Outside to Zurich, tipped over.
Outside to Essen Price.
We'll go outside to Zurich again.
She'll find the court and score.
Huskies will finally side out of that rotation.
And it'll be 19-12 in favor of the Huskies as Madeline Kreider will go back to serve and Jacqueline Yancey will check back in.
Great serve.
We'll go right side to Weck.
She'll do the same thing and put it in the net.
This is going back and forth for the Huskies and the Warriors here.
A little bit too many unforced errors as Wack will get checked out here for Sage Martin checking in.
Criter to serve 20 to 12.
Criter with a great serve but it's handled.
Wayne State will go to their middle and that'll go straight down.
That'll be middle number 15.
Katerina Stout.
Katerina Stout looking to heat up here for the Warriors.
And Wayne State will cut the lead to 7 as the Huskies lead 20-13.
Serve is good.
Handled by Hanon and a little bit out of system there.
Rachel Zurich will go off the block.
Handled by the Warriors will go to the middle.
Tipped over by Katerina Stout and that'll be just over the hands of Madeline Kreider.
She was a little bit pushing towards the net and couldn't quite get her hands on that one.
Warriors will cut the lead of 6-20 to 14.
Huskies need a side out here.
Keep this lead.
Keeps a momentum.
Oh, yes, Kayla Hanuman finds that one.
She was a little short.
Great kill by Rachel Zurich.
Kayla Hanuman was a misstep.
It hit the tape, and she just popped her hand under it and got that ball up.
That was a great pass by Kayla Hanuman.
And Rachel Zurich puts it away across court.
Madeleine Elson to check in for Zurich.
Huskies lead 21-14.
Elsin's serve is good.
Great pass by the Warriors.
She digs it out.
Dug out by Trisha Kennedy.
Okay, let's see.
Free ball for the Huskies.
Reset here for the Warriors.
We'll go outside to Esen Price, blocked by Jacqueline Yancey, but they recover it.
We'll go to Esen Price again.
She's dug out by Criter Dama-1, and we'll have a net call on the Huskies.
I'm not sure I agree with that one.
They'll call Jacqueline Yancey in the net.
on that block.
We'll see if we can look at it here on the replay.
I think that was all ball, but Cindy Pendrell will not challenge that.
Huskies lead 21-15 as the Warriors serve.
Out of bounds.
Ball does not lie in volleyball.
So that'll be a point for the Huskies.
22-15, they'll take the lead too.
That was a hard call there on the net play, but I think it was the ball.
Now it's to serve for the Huskies as they lead 22-15.
Passes off the net.
We'll go a back row attack and that's dug out by Kreider.
Page Wagner with the set to Jacqueline Yancey off the block.
We'll go outside for Katie Smith.
She'll try to tip it over but that's in the net.
She just missed it just a little bit there.
Huskies will take the lead up to 23-15 as they look to close out this third set and stay alive for another one.
Nellis to serve again for the Huskies.
Short serve for Nellis.
She's passed.
Well, right to the middle.
Great block touch for Paige Wagner.
Those are crucial.
Kayla Hanonin takes a great swing and she scores.
Got to give credit to Paige Wagner.
Getting that block touch on the middle slows down the ball for the defense to be able to play that.
And Kayla Hanonin able to put it away.
Nellis will serve for set point 24-15.
Great passing by the Warriors here.
Katie Smith dug out by Kreider.
Kreider is handling Katie Smith down the line.
Blocked by the Warriors.
Katelyn and William will tip it over the block.
She's dug out.
Katie Smith will take a big rip off the block.
Dugout by Elson will go middle of the page Wagner.
She's blocked and that one can't quite be recovered by the Huskies.
We'll get another set point here.
As the Huskies have set point here, 24-16.
Berlin game will serve.
for the Warriors.
And the Huskies will close this third set out.
Quickly here.
Great pass by Elson.
We'll go right side to Jacqueline Yancey.
She'll go cross court and that'll be a point for the Huskies.
Huskies will take set three.
Twenty-five to sixteen as we will take a quick break.
Huskies still trail.
Two sets to one, but the momentum is all on their side.
So we will take a quick break and we'll be back for set four of this volleyball match.

And we're back with Gliac volleyball Huskies look at a lot better in that third set as they take that one 25 16 a lot of parody against this Warriors team I mean second and third set were pretty much the same but flip-flopped I mean Huskies taken over in that third set hitting 238 Golden Wayne State to 064
This game is just back and forth.
The parity between these two teams, I mean, Katie Smith taking hard cross shots, Rachel Zurich taking hard cross shots, Wett going down the line, Jacqueline Yancey going down the line.
These two teams have a lot of parity.
There's a lot of matchups here that the Huskies and the Wayne State Warriors have against each other.
We'll see if the Huskies can keep their momentum into this fourth set, try to push a fifth set.
and keep this one going.
These two teams are both fighting for a home playoff start, so we are looking to have that here tonight.
And it's looking like it.
It hasn't been the most... back and forth game.
It's been like one team has taken over, the other team's not.
It's been Wayne State for two sets, so let's hope that the Huskies can flip that and make it three sets for them.
The Huskies are looking good in this third set.
Like I said, I mean they only beat Wayne State by Two kills in that third set, but the hitting errors again for Wayne State Same as the second set for the Huskies.
Just reversing that Parity there Dullgar will serve to start this four set for the Warriors Huskies will go outside as Eric.
She tips it over the block.
She's blocked handled by Albers
We'll go off the block and out of bounds.
That'll be a point.
Quick point for the Huskies there.
As Trisha Kennedy checks back in and Paige Wagner will go to that service line.
Paige Wagner will serve for the Huskies as they lead 1-0.
1-0.
That'll be an Autosystem pass there.
Katie Smith will take it a swing dug out by Hanon and great dig.
Oh, great set by Madeline Kriter outside of Zurich.
Zurich.
Ah, Zurich.
Pardon me.
Katie Smith will take that swing for the Warriors.
It'll be out of bounds for the Warriors.
Another point for the Huskies.
2-0.
Page Wagner to serve again for the Huskies.
A good serve for Wagner.
Out of system pass.
Keeney Smith will have to tap it over.
We'll go to Zurich.
Zurich will score in the deep corners.
Huskies got to go back to that.
They did very well with those shots in the first set.
Finding those deep corners cross-court down the line.
Huskies got to get back to that.
They lead 3-0 in the air in this fourth set.
Page Wagner to serve again for the Huskies.
Little bit of a miss Hit there for Paige Wagner as her ball hits the bottom of the tape on the net That's alright Husky still lead 3-1 Katie Smith will serve for the Warriors as Paige Wagner will giggle that one off on the sidelines Katie Smith serving for the Warriors Katie Smith and Rachel Zurich played a volleyball together lots growing up
and they match each other on this court.
And Rachel Zurich will get a kill off the arms of Burlingame, and Jacqueline Yancey will check in for the Huskies, and we will have Aubrey Garcia check in for the Warriors.
Madeleine Kreider to serve for the Huskies as they lead four to one in the fourth set.
Great serve for Kreider, but it's handled well by the Warriors.
Middle block, swing, Trisha Kennedy will
get a block touch on that slow down, but Huskies will have to send a free ball.
Dullgar will save it on her side, and that'll be off the block and out of bounds.
That was a tough one for the Huskies, but great point for the Warriors there as they cut the lead to two.
Huskies still lead for two.
We will have serve for the Warriors here, and the Huskies will look to side out quick.
Keep the momentum on their side.
Good pass by Rachel Zurich.
We'll go middle second tempo to Jackie Yancey Warriors have a miscommunication and we'll have to send a free ball then we'll go right side We're calling a replay.
Oh, no looks like Dullgar might have a little bit of an injury That is not good for the Wayne State Warriors as she is there Set her their offense looks like a hand injury maybe
That is not good for Dolgar not good for the Warriors She's a phenomenal player sets their offense extremely well So we'll see she's talking to the trainers here we'll see if that will be Her having to step off or just shake shake it off a little bit No, it looks like she will sub out
That is not great for the Warriors as Abby Parrish will step in freshman setter That is a Big shoes to fill For Abby Parrish, but we'll see that'll be a replay so it'll be 4-2 still in favor of the Huskies Huskies will see if they can side out here So we've got a new offense running here on the Warriors side.
We'll hope daily
Kayla Dullger is okay.
Ho and Weck goes straight down the line.
Great set there for Parrish as she comes in and steps up for her teammate.
Warriors will cut the lead to one.
It'll be 4-3 in favor of the Huskies.
Huskies look to side out here.
We'll see.
Good serve.
Kayla Hanonin will handle that pass.
Handedly slide to Tertiary Kennedy.
She scores.
That'll be a great swing for Tricia Kennedy, and the Huskies will take that one.
Madeleine Olsen will check in for Rachel Zurich as she will serve.
The Huskies 5-3 still lead in this game.
So we will see how this warrior team will handle losing their setter here in this set.
We'll set Weck, dug out by Nellis.
We'll go to Kayla Hanonen.
She'll tip it off the block.
Dug out by Parrish will go outside to Essence Price.
She finds a way to bring it in the court.
We'll get a tip over here by Kayla Haydon and almost not over.
We'll go to Weck on the right side.
She's blocked and that'll be a point for the Huskies that went off the block and then off Essence Price.
And that will be a point for the Huskies as Elson goes back to the line again to serve.
6-3 in favor of the Huskies.
Madeleine Elson's serve is good.
Great pass by the Warriors.
They'll feed their middle dugout by Crider.
Nellis will set Hanon in.
She takes a big swing.
She's blocked.
Will go S in price.
Oh, Elson gets a dig off S in price, but will go into the bench there of the Huskies.
That was a good touch by Elson, but just not able to bring it back into the court.
Warriors will cut the lead to two, six, four.
We'll have Brynn Mullins in here to serve for the Warriors.
Huskies will look to side out quick here.
Great pass by Elson moving backwards.
We'll go to Yancey cross court.
She's dug out.
We'll go outside the S and price tipped over the block.
Crider will take that one.
Set to Kayla Hanonen.
She finds hands off the block.
Nope, that's out of bounds.
Warriors will get another point here.
Cut the lead to one.
Huskies up by one.
Six five.
Mullins to serve again for the Warriors.
Her serve is good.
Elson takes the pass.
Oh, big set by Kreider.
Tipped over by Keila Hinonen.
He'll go outside for, oh, great block there by Jacqueline Yancey, and that'll get the point.
She blocks, S and price one on one there.
That is what you need from a right side blocker.
Great swing there.
Great block there by Jacqueline Yancey.
Nellis to serve 7-5 in favor of the Huskies.
Passed out by the... Esen Price will go down the line.
She's dug out by Madeline Kreider.
Will go outside to Kayla Hanon and she roll shots it over.
She's dug out.
Parrish will set her middle there.
Tipped off the block.
Nellis gets a pass off of it.
Will go right side to Jackie Yancey.
She pushes it to the corner and that's in.
And she points to it.
In.
That hit the line.
Beautiful, smart play by Jacqueline Yancey.
Pushing it over the block, over the defender.
Hitting that back line.
Huskies take the lead 8-5.
Nice short serve by Nellis.
She's handled there.
Tipped over the block and out of bounds.
That'll be an error on the Wayne State side.
Esenpreis tips that one over the block and out of bounds.
Huskies lead 9-5 here.
Nellis to serve again.
And she gets an ace.
Huskies will go up to 10, first to 10 here.
10 to 5, Tim Coth will take a timeout with his warriors and we will take a timeout as you're listening to Michigan Tech volleyball on mix 93 WKMJ.

fourth set as the Huskies are dominating here.
10-5.
The Warriors have an injury on their side.
They're starting setter Kayla Dolgar.
She is out of the game for now.
We'll see if she comes back in.
But Abby Parrish, she's looking good as she came in to step up for her senior setter.
And the Huskies are looking to take over here in this second, in this fourth set, pardon me, push this to a fifth set.
You know these Huskies love five setters.
They've played a lot of five setters this year.
Keely Nellis to serve for the Huskies.
And she will miss that serve.
That'll be a culture's point there for Tim Koth as the Warriors get that one.
Katie Smith checks in.
And they are only trailing by four.
Ten-six here in this fourth set.
Scores around the Gliac.
Looks like Grand Valley swept.
Northern Michigan at Northern Michigan and Davenport swept the Lakers of LSU, LSSU.
A lot of sweeps this tonight in the Gliac.
Warriors got an ace there.
That would be 10-7.
Still in favor of the Huskies.
Huskies will look to side out.
Keep this lead.
Ref is watching Madeline Crater making sure she doesn't go too early there on the crossover.
We'll go right side of Yancey.
She'll cut it over.
We'll go tip to the corner.
That is a that is a tough ball for the Huskies, Madeline Elson.
She did a little bit to the right side and they pushed that to the left back corner.
Eson Price to serve for the Warriors as they cut the lead to 2-10-8.
Eson Price's serve is good.
Elson handles it.
We'll go middle to Paige Wagner and she finds the court and scores.
Wayne State Warriors think that ball is out, but I don't think they're gonna challenge it.
He's looking at his players.
He's walking to the bench.
Is he gonna challenge?
No, no.
Okay, he won't.
11-8.
Albers checks back in.
15.
Number 15, Amelia Albers.
11-8.
Favorite of the Huskies.
We'll go outside to Katie Smith here for the Warriors.
She goes out of bounds.
That is what the Huskies need.
Katie Smith.
Katie Smith in those first couple sets was lethal.
Huskies need to shut her down or find a way to make her make errors.
Like they just did.
Albers to serve, 12-8.
Slide.
Kayla Hanuman puts it back over.
We'll go outside to Katie Smith.
She puts it down the antenna.
That'll be a point for the Huskies.
and Tim Coth will take his second timeout of the fourth set as the Huskies lead 13-8.
We will take a quick timeout and we'll be back with Michigan Tech volleyball on mix 93 WKMJ.

And we're back as the Wayne State Warriors have taken their second time out of the fourth set so they are out of timeouts here as the Huskies lead 13-8 and look to keep putting pressure on to push this game to five sets.
I believe we will have Elson back at the service line for the Huskies.
Nope, Elbers.
Elbers at the service line for the Huskies.
13-8, fourth set.
Huskies trail two sets to one ready to take this one over Albert serve is good great pass by the Warriors.
They'll go outside to Katie Smith.
She will get the swing and kill Lethal swing by Katie Smith Berlin game will go back to serve the libero for the Warriors as the Huskies lead 13 to 9 Huskies look to side out here keep this lead and keep it
Wide.
Great pass by Albers.
We'll go outside to Hanon in.
She'll take a big cut.
She's dug out.
She's overpassed.
And Paige Wagner will go on the side off the block.
And that's a point for the Huskies.
Kill by Paige Wagner.
Kayla Hanon in.
We'll go back to serve for the Huskies.
14-9.
Great serve by handing in an even better pass by the Warriors.
Katie Smith will go over the block.
Oh, I'm surprised they didn't call that one a double on there.
Madeline Kreider putting it back over, but no big deal.
Kreider will set Zurich inside.
She's dug out.
Oh, followed by the Warriors.
Katie Smith will take a roll shot.
Nellis will handle it.
Page Wagner will tip it over the block and she scores.
That'll be a point for Page Wagner and a point for the Huskies.
So they bring the lead to 15-9 in this fourth set.
Kela Hinonen still at that service line.
Good network here by the Huskies.
Putting balls back over the net.
Tight balls fighting for them.
Warriors will have to send a down ball here.
Huskies will.
Oh, Madeline Criter will try to dump, but she'll be in the net.
The ball will be in the net, pardon me.
That'll be a point for the Warriors.
Madeline Criter wanted that one.
I wouldn't be surprised if she goes to it again.
But we'll have Parrish back to serve for the Warriors as the Huskies lead 15-10.
Good serve, Hanon in with a great pass.
We'll go outside to Zurich.
Zurich off the block and scores.
Warriors not able to pick that one up off the block as Paige Wagner will go back to serve for the Huskies and Trisha Kennedy will check back in.
Huskies lead 16-10 in this fourth set.
Paige Wagner to serve.
And she gets another one in the net.
Uncharacteristic of Paige Wagner to miss her serve.
Let alone a couple times.
But she'll bounce back there as the Warriors will have Katie Smith back to serve.
16-11.
Still in favor of the Huskies.
Served by Smith is good.
Albers handles that with her hand.
Slide attack by Trisha Kennedy and it's a kill.
Big kill by Trisha Kennedy.
As Jacqueline Yancey will check back in on the right side.
As the Huskies lead 17-11, Madeline Crichter will go back to serve.
Madeline Crichter's serve is good.
A little out of system for the Warriors.
They'll have to take an out of system.
Swinging will be in the net for S and Price.
That'll be another point for the Huskies as they lead 18-11 here in this fourth set.
Looking to push this fifth set.
Madeline Krider at the service line.
And that'll be on another miss serve for the Huskies.
A little bit too many miss serves, but they still have a handed lead here.
Up by 6, 18 to 12, as the Warriors will get that point, and they will take the serve here.
Passed by Nellis is tight and overpassed!
Okay, for Keely, Nellis.
She was not expecting that.
Madeleine Cretor jumped, but obviously Cretor's back row, she can't take that ball.
And that just landed on the Wayne State side, and that'll be a bump kill for Keely Nellis.
Madeleine Ellison checks back in, and she will take the serve.
Good serve, pushing Essence Price out there, but Essence Price will take the swing, and she's blocked straight down.
Jackie, Nancy, and Trisha Kennedy.
at the net together, putting that ball down.
Elson will serve again as the Huskies hit the red zone 20 to 12.
Reminder, Tim Cough and the Warriors have no timeouts here, so this game is going to play out as it will.
We'll go right side to Weck, she'll find Corpett.
Elson with the beautiful dig, but it's overpassed and it goes down on the on the Husky side.
That'll be a point for the Wayne State Warriors.
That was a great dig by Madeline Elson, just a little tight.
And Madeline Crider was back arose so she can't go up with that.
Warriors will get the point.
It'll be 2013.
Still in favor of the Huskies.
Still have a handed lead here.
Crider will set Hanon in.
Hanon will take a swing off that block and she scores.
Hanon is so good when she's off that net like that.
That's a hard ball to find a way to score on.
And Kayla Hanon and she puts that one away.
Now let's to serve here 21-13 in favor of the Huskies.
Now let's serve is good.
We'll go right side on the slide there and Huskies aren't able to dig it out.
That'll be number 15 Katerina Stout for the Warriors as S and Price will go back to serve.
It is 21-14 still in favor of the Huskies.
Huskies looking to side out here quick and get this four set finish.
as they need four points to push this fifth set.
Good serve by the Warriors.
We'll go right side to Yancey.
Yancey will have to tip it over.
It's dug out by Burlingame.
We'll go back row for Essence Price.
She's dug out by Nellis.
Hanonin keeps it in play.
Crazy play there.
Nellis will free ball it over outside to Katie Smith.
She's off the block, slowing that ball down.
Beautiful.
We'll go to Paige Wagner.
She tips it.
Dug out by the Warriors.
We'll go to Katie Smith again.
She's dug out.
Go, go, go.
Find that ball off the...
basketball hoop.
Insane defense by the Huskies here.
We'll see if they can shut down Katie Smith again.
Katie Smith tips it in, it's in the mat.
That was insane defense on both sides of the ball.
Huskies found that one off the ceiling of Mellon Crater's dig.
And then it'll be a point for the Huskies.
Amelia Albers will check in.
Number 15, serving as the Huskies lead, 22-14.
It's plays like that that you need your team to stay in and not give up on to keep the momentum on their side.
Beautiful.
Slide for Katerina Stout.
She's dug out by Madeline Craitor.
I thought that one was going down.
Haydonin will take a roll shot.
She'll find the court.
No, just out of bounds.
She was trying to find that line.
Roll shot down the line, but just barely out of bounds.
That's a smart error for Kayla Haydonin.
Burling game will serve for the Warriors as Huskies still lead 22-15.
Good serve.
Handled by Nellis will go outside to Hanonan.
She'll take a big rip.
That'll go off the chest of Essence Price.
Katie Smith will take a swing.
She's dug out by Elson.
Madeleine Crider will dump it.
She's blocked.
She'll take the set.
She'll go out to Kayla Hanonan.
Kayla Hanonan will take a great swing off the block and that'll score off of a couple of Wayne State players.
As Rachel Zurich checks back in and the Huskies need two points to finish this set.
Push this game to a fifth.
We know our Huskies love a fifth set.
Kayla Hanonen to serve this one.
Kayla Hanonen's serve is good, but a good pass by the Warriors.
Katie Smith with the big swing.
Kayla Hanonen gets a touch.
Amelia Aubers also, but just not up in the air.
A little bit down to the ground.
Warriors will get another point.
Huskies lead 23-16.
As Parrish, the freshman setter that came in for Dolgar here, serves.
Her serve is good, but Albers, an even better pass, will go slide to Paige Wagner off the block and out of bounds.
That is a great kill for Paige Wagner, as she will go back to the service line.
It is set point in favor of the Huskies, 24-16.
Huskies looking to push this to a fifth set here at...
The varsity gym at the SDC.
All right, we'll go outside of Katie Smith.
She's, oh, she scores cross court.
Paige Wagner's not able to pick that one up.
No big deal.
Huskies will have another set point here as they lead 24-17.
Look to side out quick.
Keep their momentum going into this fifth set.
Katie Smith will serve for the Warriors.
Her serve is good.
Albers will overpass.
We'll see what the Warriors can do with this to whack off the block the block touches looking beautiful Trisha Kennedy in the middle.
She's dug out.
We'll go to whack again cross-court dugout by Albers We'll go to Trisha Kennedy again tip tipped over the block in that middle Kind of try to push it back over but it went into the net and the Huskies will take the fourth set We will go to five sets here at the SDC
And the Huskies take that 125-17.
We'll come back with a fifth set here at the Student Development Complex.
We'll be back after these messages on MIX 93 WKMJ.

Husky volleyball.
We know our Michigan Tech Huskies love their fifth sets.
They love playing five-step matches here.
Huskies are all tied up.
Two sets of peace with the Wayne State Warriors as they look to push this one and be the first to 15.
That fourth set, I mean all Huskies, they held Wayne State to 80% of zero.
That is crucial for the Huskies.
Wayne State was making uncharacteristic errors.
The Huskies were making big blocks at the net.
And let me tell ya, Huskies hit well in that set.
Huskies hit 343 in that set.
And gotta give the credit here to Paige Wagner.
Another great game for Paige Wagner.
12 kills hitting 417.
Looking good.
Jacqueline Yancey's hanging in there, hitting 294.
Rachel Zurich hitting 263, Trisha Kennedy hitting 364.
Kayla Hanonin coming up with big plays on offense and defense.
Huskies really need to pull all they have into this fifth set, really make it work for them.
The key is to come out strong.
I'm not sure who has served here, but Huskies either need to hold their serve at the service line right away or side out first point here.
They're first to 15 here and
We'll see what the Warriors will have to come back with, because that set was a little dry for them too.
Same parody here.
I mean, first two sets were all Wayne State, second two sets were all Huskies.
We'll see who this third set goes to.
And again, the Wayne State Warriors, they have their backup center in this game as Kayla Dolgar looks to have some sort of hand or arm injury.
So they're running with a setter that they don't usually see in their normal gameplay.
She's doing great.
She's running the offense as best as she can, but they're missing that piece of Kayla Dolgar.
That freshman setter number four, Abby Parrish, will serve to start this fifth set.
Huskies love to play five sets.
Let's see where we go here.
Good pass by Albers a little out of system.
Nellis will have to play it.
Zurich will put that ball over.
It's dug out tipped over by their middle.
Will go slide to Paige Wagner.
She's dug out by Paris.
That's a great dig.
Amelia Albers will keep it over on our side.
Will go slide again to Paige Wagner.
She scores down the line.
Beautiful setup there by Madeline Kreider running that slide when nobody's expecting it.
Great pickup by Amelia Albers there.
Huskies lead one nothing here in this fifth set Page Wagner at the service line Good serve handled by Eson Price will go outside to Katie Smith She finds the court and that's inbounds.
That's a great swing for Katie Smith as she ties it up 1-1 in this fifth set And she will go back to serve for the Warriors Katie Smith at that service line
Good serve for Katie Smith.
Kayla hanging in with the great pass.
We'll go side of Trisha Kennedy.
She finds it down the line Huskies middles are finding that slide kill down the line and it is looking great Jacqueline Yancey will check back in for the Huskies as they take the lead to one in this fifth set.
Madeline Criter at the service line for the Huskies.
Her serve is good.
Berlin game handles it.
We'll go right side of whack.
She's dug out by Criter.
Pursuit rule here going on Kayla Hannon will try to get it back over, but it won't get over Warriors will get that point So new rule this year new old rule reinstated this year as you can go on the other side to bring a ball back to your side Rachel Zurich pulled that off, but it went into the bench a little bit and Kayla Hannon and wasn't able to bring it back So we'll be tied up to two here in this visit Good pass by Hannon and we'll go outside to Zurich
Zurich will go down the line and that'll score off the hands of Abby Parrish.
Elson will check in for Hanon in number one, Madeline Elson.
She will serve as the Huskies lead, three to two.
Huskies looking to keep this, keep this lead going here.
Good serve for Madeline Elson.
Will go right side for Weck.
Weck will cross court off the block.
Jacqueline Yancey will dig that one out.
We'll go outside to Kaila Hanonen.
She's a little off her body there.
We'll go outside to... Esenpreis dug off the body of Madeline Kreider.
She shrugs that one off as it just bombed her in the shoulder.
She did the best she could to get that one up, but that was just a great swing by Esenpreis.
All tied up here at three apiece.
Three all here in this fifth set.
It's going to be a thriller.
We're going to go all the way here.
Kaila Hanonen handles that pass.
We'll go outside to Hanonen.
weird set there.
Hanuman will have to tip it over.
We'll go outside to Essendpreist.
She'll go down the line, dug out by Middleton Criter.
Keely Nellis will set Keely Nellis.
She goes in for the big swing, but tips it over.
We'll go middle, tipped over.
Elson will bring it back into the court.
We'll go middle to Trisha Kennedy.
She's dug out.
We'll go outside to Essendpreist for the Warriors.
She's dug out by Nellis.
We'll go outside to Keely Nellis.
That's a double on the Warriors side, but not going to call.
Yancy will take a swing and she's blocked straight down.
Now, some people may say that the double rule doesn't exist, but that ball went over the net, and I thought it was a clear double, but that'll be a point for the Warriors.
They'll take the lead up 4-3, as one of their players keeps switching in and out of some Halloween hats over there on their bench.
Good pass by Nellis.
We'll go right side of Yancey.
She'll take a cross court shot.
It's Doug out.
Warriors will send a free ball.
Huskies will look to execute on this free ball.
We'll go outside to Heenlin.
She's blocked Doug out by Elson, but we can't recover on the Huskies side.
That was a good up by Elson, but just not able to play that one.
Cindy Pindrell will comment to the ref about something, but won't challenge.
Warriors take the lead too.
5-3 here in this fifth set.
Huskies need a side out.
Get some momentum back on their side here.
No more points for the Warriors in this run.
Nellis with a great pass.
We'll go right-sided.
Yancey and she'll get a crosscourt shot and a crosscourt kill as Paige Wagner will check back in and Nellis will head back to serve.
Warriors lead here 5-4 in this fifth set.
Huskies looking to take over.
Get some momentum on their side.
Nellis serve is good.
Handled by Esenpreis will go right side on the slide.
Huskies can't quite dig it out.
It'll be another point for the Warriors on that slide ball by Katerina Stout.
She is scoring left and right on that one.
Warriors will go up by 2-6-4.
Esenpreis to serve.
That means Katie Smith is back in in the front rope.
Huskies need to side out here.
Esenpreis serve is good.
pass beautifully by Nellis.
We'll go right side of Yancey.
She'll find it down the line but she's dug out.
We'll go middle for the Warriors and that's another point for Katerina Stout.
Huskies will take a timeout as the Warriors lead seven to four.
Huskies looking to get some momentum back and we will take a timeout with them.

All right, we're back in the Husky, in the varsity gym for Husky volleyball.
Huskies are looking a little flat at the start of this fifth set as they trail seven to four.
The Warriors are on top as number 10, Essence Price will serve for the Warriors.
Huskies looking to side out on this play.
Get a point and push some points here.
As this set only goes to 15, there's not a lot of time to have a slump at the beginning of the set.
Essence price to serve.
Good serve, Nellis passes it out.
We'll go outside to Hanon in.
She takes a big rip and that's in.
She's ready to go.
She's ready to go.
That's a great kill by Kayla Hanon in.
Amelia Albers will check in for Jacqueline Yancey's back row, and she will be at the service line.
As the Huskies trail by two, seven to five here in favor of the Warriors.
Huskies looking to take this fifth set and get some momentum.
Good serve by Albers.
Go to Katie Smith.
She gets a good swing, but block touch slows it down.
And Kayla Hanon in with the kill.
Let's go, Huskies.
Makes that play really easy for the Huskies is that touch by Madeline Criter at the net that block touch slows it down makes that Dig easy for our back row defenders.
Great job Good serve by Albers.
She's passed out.
We'll go to Smith again Smith will find it Nellis will get up there Criter will go up with them as that's an overpass But that'll go down on the Husky side.
That'll be a point for the Warriors.
They'll be up here eight to six as
Burling game goes back to serve.
Huskies need to side out fast here.
Hold the serve while they have it.
Albers with a good pass will go slide to Paige Wagner.
She doesn't find hands.
That'll be another point for the Warriors.
As they will take this lead nine to six.
And Huskies are going to challenge a touch on that ball.
I'm not sure if Cindy Pendrell actually thinks they're a.
It was a touch.
I didn't see one, but take a time to slow down and set up our offense, reset with our players here.
So refs will look at it, see if there's a touch off that swing.
None of the tech players seemed to think there was a touch, but you can't take those challenges with you.
And Sydney Pintrell hasn't taken a challenge.
Wayne State bench players are laying on the floor in a circle.
I'm not sure what that's about, but Paige Wagner looking at this kill, let's see if it's a kill.
Ooh, there might be some finger.
The ball might have caught some finger there.
I'm not sure if that is, if the refs have a better view of that.
But from what I see, there might be a little touch.
Looks like the refs need to get a hold of
The camera guys over in the booth over there.
Is there anyone over there?
Is there anyone in the booth over there?
Okay.
The people in the booth were not here in the ref there over her mic, but they're looking at the place now.
She's getting the right views.
It's Warriors.
If this point goes to the Warriors, it'll be a 9-6 lead.
We've got the pep band here mocking the Wayne State bench as they're all laying in a circle on the ground, chatting it up.
And we've got the pep band all laying on the ground, kicking their feet like little girls laying on the ground, kicking their feet, looking pretty silly.
But yeah, they're looking at this for a long time and may just be because they couldn't get a hold of the guys in the booth here watching the replay, but they're trying to look at that and see if there's a touch off the block.
There might be, but it's got to be a conclusive call here, so we will see.
It doesn't, she's shaking her head, so maybe, maybe there's nothing, maybe she can't quite see, maybe the angle's not there.
It's gotta be conclusive to reverse it, but it could be a huge point for the Huskies if we get this challenge to go our way.
We'd cut the lead to two, cut the lead to one, it would be seven, eight here.
Still in favor of the Warriors, but they're taking a long time to look at this.
And we will see, we've got a lot of eyes on that table.
Ref is nodding her head now, so maybe there is a touch.
They're all looking at it.
They're not quite sure Got Calvin Larson down there peeking his head around the monitor trying to see if he sees anything different You got our camera guys up here giggling all of them are giggling at the pep band here a Lot of a lot of silly things going on in this gym that do not have anything to do with volleyball
But yeah, the pep band is kicking their feet, waiting for this result as we wait for this result from the referees here.
So if the Huskies get this one, it'll be seven, eight, still in favor of the Warriors, but possession in the Huskies' side.
And if not, it will be six, nine in favor of the Warriors.
And it'll be in favor of the Warriors.
But Cindy Pendrell got some time to slow the game down.
So the Warriors will lead 9-6 here.
Huskies will look to side out.
Maybe this will give the ice the server a little bit here and give the Huskies this point or at least give them the energy to get this point.
Passed by Albers will go outside to Hanon and she'll have to shoot it over.
Parrish will set her outside.
Katie Smith she tips it over the block.
Great dig out by Kayla Hanon and not her ball and Madeline Crider will have to save that one.
We'll go dump.
dug out by Nellis.
Crider will send another free ball and it's out of bounds.
Shoot.
That's a bummer play there.
A lot of effort there by Crider.
She was on both sides of the court.
And I think Madeline Crider might be bleeding or something.
She was back and forth on both sides of the court.
Something with her shoe was going on.
So the Huskies will take a timeout as the Warriors lead 10-6 here.
Madeline Criter's shoe broke.
It looks like she's running to the locker room to get a new pair of shoes.
But Warriors League 10-6 will come back here after a quick break on MIX 93 WKMJ.

As the Huskies take a timeout, as I believe we had him when Criter shoe broke.
She looks to have a new pair of shoes on.
Warriors lead 10 to 6 here.
We're looking to side out on this play here.
Get the Huskies back into rhythm.
A lot of volleyball left to play here, but the Warriors are the first to 10 in this set to 15.
So we'll see if the Huskies can get themselves out of this one.
Burling game to serve for the Warriors.
is handled by Nellis.
We'll go outside to Kayla Hanonen.
She'll take a swing off the hands of Burlingame, and that'll be a point for the Huskies.
A great swing by Kayla Hanonen.
Gets the Huskies back in this game.
Rachel Zerg will check back in.
And Kayla Hanonen will go back to serve as the Huskies trailed by 3-10-7 here in this fifth set.
Great serve by Kayla Hanonen, and it's an ace!
She is ready to get these Huskies back in this game.
And Tim Koth and the Warriors will take a timeout as the Huskies trail 10 to 8 here in this fifth set and we will take a quick 30 second timeout and we will be back on mix 93
WKMJ.

All
right, we're back with Husky volleyball is the Huskies trail 10 8 here in this fifth set Kayla Hannon and is looking to get her team back in this game as she's at the service line Good serve by Kayla Hannon and passed out by Slide tipped over by the oldest out of bounds.
That'll be a point for the Huskies That will be out of bounds
Tim Koth is gonna challenge that there was a touch.
I don't think there was a touch I think that went over the block and out of bounds and that would be a point for the Huskies.
Oh, I think he's talking there was a touch on Keely Nellis there on the floor.
As she dove for that ball, but I think she missed it.
Hopefully she missed it and that'll be a point for the Huskies and they'll get back within one.
If not, the Warriors will go up to 11 to 8.
Huskies really want this to go their way.
Let's see if I can see a replay here.
and see if I can tell if Nellis touched the ball or not.
Again, they have to make sure that Nellis touched the ball.
And there, I don't know, it might have hit her hair.
I don't know if hair counts on that.
Hair does not count if you're in the net.
But if the ball hits your hair, does that count?
I'm not sure.
We'll have to see what the referees call on this one.
Huge play here again.
Again, we've got the Wayne State players laying in a circle on their bellies on the bench here, and we've got the entire Bat Band laying on their bellies with the Wayne State Warriors.
So we'll see if this play will be a touch by Nellis or not, if they will call it.
It has to be conclusive.
And I don't know if that touched.
It would be like her back that it would have to touch.
Or if it hit the ground first, oh, it might have hit the ground and then her hair.
So maybe they were calling that.
But if it's the ground, that's out of bounds.
That's not.
I think this is going to be a point in favor of the Huskies.
If it's not, that's an insane call.
Insane touch.
I think that's going to be still in favor of the Huskies.
We'll see here.
And this will be a point for the Huskies.
Yes, the Huskies will get within one.
It'll be 10-9.
Kayla Hanoen at the service line again.
Tim Koth is out of challenges.
Actually, he might have won.
But Kayla Hanoen to serve.
Serve is good.
Passed by the Warriors outside to Katie Smith.
She's blocked.
Dug out by the Huskies.
Will go to Zurich on the outside.
She taps it in.
Dug out by Berlin Game.
Katie Smith will take another swing.
Dug out by Rachel Zurich.
Madeline Kreider will dump the ball.
She's dug out.
A little miscommunication.
Katie Smith dug out by Kayla Hainonen.
We'll go outside to Zurich.
She puts it away.
Cross court.
Let's go.
Huskies tied up.
10-10 in this fifth set.
Talk about a five-set thriller.
We are all tied up.
Two sets of peace.
10-10.
Huskies looking to take over momentum.
Kayla Hainonen's serve is good.
Handled Katie Smith will take a swing cross court and that tucks off the block and out of bounds That'll be a point for the Warriors Huskies are still within one Husky Warriors go up 11-10 Huskies looking to side out quick here crucial Crucial point they need to side out here right away Warriors lead 11-10 fifth set Parrish to serve Great pass by Hanuman and we'll go slide to page Wagner.
She finds the core Parrish digs her out
Burlington, Burling game dug out by Albers.
We'll go outside to Zurich.
She'll take a swing off the block.
She's dug out by Esson Price.
We'll go right side of Weck.
She's blocked.
Page Wagner's dug out.
Page Wagner will take another one and it's down.
Huskies tie it back up all because of Page Wagner.
She had that overpass swing and then she swiped that ball down.
Point for Paige Wagner, point for the Huskies, all tied up at 11.
Trisha Kennedy will check back in, and Paige Wagner will go back to serve.
We'll see if Paige can tally us another point here for the Huskies.
Good serve, handled by Katie Smith, but puts him on a system.
Essence Price will have to take a swing from the back row.
She's dug out by Albers.
Will go outside to Rachel Zerch.
She puts it down the line, and it'll go off, perishes hands, and out of bounds.
Huskies will go up 12 to 11 in this fifth set and Tim cough and the Warriors will take a timeout We'll take a quick 30 second timeout as well.
You're listening to five set volleyball
on MIX93
WKMJ.
Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10.30 to four, Saturday 10.30 to three.
All right, we're back with Husky volleyball and another five-set thriller for the Huskies.
They lead 12 to 11 in this fifth set as Paige Wagner gets ready to serve off of this Wayne State timeout.
We'll see if the Huskies can push three points and finish this fifth set out.
All right, we got a final buzzer here whistle will go page Wagner to serve Fingers cross that page Wagner gets a good serve here great serve gets Smith out of system there outside of Smith She's blocked straight down Trisha Kennedy puts that ball to the floor That'll bring the lead to 13 to 11 Huskies are up by two in this fifth set
Let's see if they can finish this off.
Two more points for the Huskies as Paige Wagner serves.
Huskies don't even have a libero on the court right now.
Let's see, we'll go to Smith again.
Nope, we'll go lefty to Weck.
That'll go out of bounds.
But they'll give that point to Wayne State saying there was a touch.
Huskies players are not arguing, so I'm assuming there was a touch.
Huskies still lead by one.
13 to 12 here in this fifth set.
Katie Smith to serve for the Warriors Huskies are looking to side out right away one and done here Good pass by Kayla Hannon and we'll go outside to Rachel Zurich.
She'll put the ball away and the Huskies will be within one Huskies lead 14-12 And Huskies will make some subs here Jacqueline Yancy will check back in and Aubrey Garcia for the Warriors will check back in as the Huskies have set and match point here Madeleine Crider to serve her serve is
Almost an ace.
Right side to Wack.
Dugout by Nellis.
We'll go right side to Jackalyn Yancey.
She's dugout.
We'll go outside to... As... As in price gets the kill.
The... The Warriors will stay in this game.
It is 14-13.
Huskies need one side out here.
As the Warriors will go back to serve.
Huskies need one pass to finish this one out.
put this ball away.
Who will Madeline Criter lean on to finish this out for the Huskies?
But Rachel Zurich, does she find hands?
And she does and the Huskies will win it in a five set thriller off the touch.
Is Tim Koth gonna challenge this?
Tim Koth is challenging that there was no touch.
If there's no touch on this, we'll go tied 14-14.
I'm not sure if I saw a touch or not, but either way that was a big Husky point.
Hopefully it stays that way and we don't have a reversal.
Huskies are still have the momentum here.
We'll see if we can watch this replay again.
Tim Cough was certain that that was out of bounds.
I think there was a touch on that block.
I think that's a point for the Huskies.
If not, that changes the game.
I mean, the game is over if it is, but if the game is, if that's not touch, then this puts us at a tie game, 14-14.
So we'll see what this referee comes back with if the Huskies are gonna pull out this 5-set reverse sweep again, or if we're gonna have to play more points, and potentially...
Have some momentum on the Warriors side Lots of challenges used in this match.
We're not used to seeing so many challenges We'll see if there is conclusive results to say that it was not touched But we will have to see here I'm not sure.
Oh, I think there's touch there.
I think that's clear that there's touch I'm we'll see what the result is
As the referee comes back, she's talking to the score table.
She's talking to them for a long time, so that must mean it's being reversed.
We'll see.
And they'll call that out of bounds.
I'm not sure I agree with that.
But... Oh, it looks like Julia Flatterjohn, the libero from last year's team, is showing video proof.
that it was touched.
But it'll be 14-14.
Huskies need to get this point.
There's a lot of arguing going on.
Julia Fledderjohn, a grad assistant for the Michigan Tech Huskies, was recording that for the social medias.
And it showed a touch.
So Cindy Pendrell is furious.
That is a matter of the game.
It is a matter of the game and we are going to see some arguing here but The refs have finals say so it is 14-14 here Huskies still have an opportunity But that is crazy So we'll see if the Huskies can side out here.
There's no libero on the Wayne State floor So Huskies will need to side out here and
get two points as the Warriors will have the serve.
If this game goes the other way, I mean, great pass by Kayla Hanon and Trisha Kennedy off the block.
She's dug out and we will have a net violation for the Warriors.
Huskies point.
Huskies will have set and match point again as Madeline Elson goes back to the service line.
Huskies need to close this one out here.
Finish us off.
Madeline Elson.
Great serve.
Oh, Huskies will get tied back up here.
15-15.
We'll have Brynn Mullins in to serve for the Warriors here.
Huskies need to side out right away.
No points here for the Warriors on this serve.
Serve is good.
Elson passed outside to Kayla Hino Ninches blocked straight down.
That'll be a point for the Warriors.
Warriors will have set and match point.
Huskies need this point.
What an absolute game changer that challenge was.
Serve is out of bounds.
That'll be a point for the Huskies.
They'll tie it back up.
The opportunity is back in the hands.
of the Huskies.
That is 16-16 extra points here in this fifth set as Keely Nellis will go back to serve for the Huskies libero number 14.
Get us back in this game.
Great serve and it's an ace for Keely Nellis.
Huskies will go up by one.
They need one point to close this fifth set out.
It's 17-16 here in the wood gym at the SEC.
Keely Nellis with that clutch ace.
We'll see if she can end this one.
One point here.
One point here for the Huskies.
They'll be tight.
Warriors will have to send a free ball.
Huskies, can they terminate?
We'll go to Jacqueline Yancey Crosscourt.
She's blocked.
Dug out.
Tight pass there.
We'll go to Essence Price.
She's dug out by Madeline Kreider.
We'll go outside to Kayla Hainonen.
And she puts the ball away!
The Huskies win it!
18-16 in a five-set thriller.
These Huskies love five sets, and these Huskies love a reverse sweep.
Another reverse sweep for the Huskies.
Two weekends in a row.
Big win here in this conference matchup.
Huskies win this fifth set, 18-16.
Three sets to two.
First set was 25-19.
Second set, 25-18.
Those first two sets were not very strong for the Huskies, but they turned it on sets three through five.
winning the third set 25-16 winning the fourth set 25-17 and battling in this absolutely crucial fifth set 18-16 win for the Huskies should have been a 15-13 win but we won't talk about that we'll send these warriors down to northern Michigan on a reverse sweep and the Huskies will close it out here we'll be back with our post game show after a couple messages here
And then after that, we'll talk to Cindy Pindrell about this huge win for the Huskies.
But we'll be back with some post-game show here in about a minute and a half on MIX 93 WKMJ.

a post game show with a five set thriller from the Huskies here.
I mean, can we talk about a turnaround?
First two sets, Huskies came out pretty flat, but then they came back in those last three sets and that fifth set should have been over at 15, 15, 13, but the Huskies, they rallied, ended it at 18, 16 in that fifth set.
Crazy win for the Huskies, crucial win for the Huskies.
Big Gliac matchup, they need to just score that one, they need to close that one out.
So, I mean, so many, so much credit to Husky's players here.
Kayley and Nintali, 14 kills.
Paige Wagner had 14 kills.
Rachel Zurich had 17.
Jackie Yancey had 7.
Tricia Kennedy had 8.
Huge game for our middles here.
Both of them hitting above 300.
Looking absolutely phenomenal.
But our superior player of the game...
Superior player of the game, sponsored by Superior National Bank, has to go to our defensive player of Gleeak, defensive player of the week, Keely Nellis.
I mean, absolutely anchoring the backcourt.
20 digs, two aces, and passing lights out all night.
All right, we've got Cindy Pindrell coming up the stairs here, so we'll get her on a mic.
We'll get her on a mic here.
Can you hear?
Yes.
All right, Cindy.
Let's cross with you.
Technical difficulties.
OK.
All right, Cindy.
Huge win tonight.
What was it like to start the game a little flat and then come back and be able to win that one in
the reverse sweep again?
Holy cow.
Insert expletives here.
OK.
Yeah.
That was, you know, by any stretch of the imagination, not our favorite start.
You know, we.
Yeah, we our servant pass was not good in the first couple of sets there We had a pretty good locker room chat and you know, it's all on us Nothing really like significant change in the locker room or anything like that It's just you know We we decided to focus on ourselves focus on our servant pass our blocking needed to be more crisp and be a little bit more hip-to-hip So it's not to create so many seams in the block But yeah, we did a really nice job rebounding like I feel like we can talk all we want about like
all these details and you know different you know adjustments and stuff like that but it's really like the heart like who is more competitive one of the things we've been talking about a lot is like the three cuz like it sounds silly but like quality cohesiveness and competitiveness do you have all three of those things and we did not in sets one and two and then we switched up our lineup a little bit went back to old reliable lineup if you will
And then we were able to rebound.
Our defense got hot at the right times.
Our serving got much, much tougher.
We were serving lollipops in the first two, and then we started to really drive it.
So yeah, just kudos to our team for taking a little bit of tough love in the locker room and then taking it upon themselves.
You know, I can't give enough credit to Maddie Kreider.
She is like mini coach.
She says pretty much exactly what I'm trying to say before I say it.
And most of the time I'm just like, yep, listen to her.
So she does so much for our team.
She drives us and she shows it every single day.
And then Kayla Hannon and coming in.
She's been playing right side a little bit the last couple of weeks.
But you know what?
We need her on the floor 100% of the time.
She brings so much good quality touch.
But just the way that she plays, she plays so joyously and so competitively in that fire like we need her.
So yeah, kudos to everybody.
I thought everybody had a good game.
Props to Madeline Elson, too.
I'd have to look, but this might be a career high digs for her.
She had 16.
That was really awesome.
But yeah, just a great team win.
And huge moments, too.
Huge moments,
exactly.
Bringing a ball back into the court.
Talk about Keely Nellis and how she anchors your service
Eve.
Dude, Keely's awesome.
She's so good.
And she was playing on brand new shoes because hers blew out yesterday.
Is that what Craters did?
Yeah, that happened today too.
She's blown like 10 shoelaces in the last month.
But yeah, Keely is just awesome.
She's such a competitor.
She's so steady.
You know exactly what you're going to get out of her every single day.
And she's chirpy in the right way.
Like she inspires her teammates to be competitive within themselves.
And then she absolutely
celebrates everybody 100% when things go the correct way.
So we are so happy that we were able to score her from the transfer portal last year.
She has just added so much to our team.
But yeah, just Kudo Sekili in all facets of the game.
And her serving really came alive at the end too.
We went on a nice little run with that too.
Yeah, I mean, watching last weekend, you could hear her through the stream last weekend talking to her.
And there's line, line, line, cross, cross, cross.
That is a huge factor in a libero that is an intangible thing that makes it.
player so beneficial to a team 100% you know you can pass dimes you can play quality defense but if you're not loud and if you're not like a basically a backcourt captain you know instructing people where to go um then you're not really a well-rounded libero and she does a great job of doing all those things and her she just builds those relationships with her teammates over and over every single day in practice and off the court and all that um so i know their teammates trust her um and they know what they're gonna get out of her out of her play um so they can trust that she's you know calling out the right moves and all that stuff
All right, what's crucial for turning around big game tomorrow again?
Yeah, you know I my mind was going a different direction about an hour and a half ago But this is this is a great momentum step for us.
You know, this is two reverse sweeps in two weekends Grand Valley by all stretch of the imagination does not love to play in Houghton So we're hoping that we can catch them sleeping a little bit But you know, we're gonna we're gonna plan to earn our wins just like we did tonight We don't wait around for teams to make errors if they happen great, but we don't wait around
for them to happen.
We're going to score our own points.
We're going to be in control of our side.
You know, honestly, our scouting reports have gotten a little bit bare bones lately, because I feel like the focus has been on us.
And the more detail I give about the other team, the more we overthink it.
So yeah, there's a couple of things here and there that we want to key on.
But like for the most part, we've just been focusing on ourselves because when we're rocking, like it doesn't really matter who's on the other side, like we're in a good shape.
So yeah, just continuing the positive momentum.
This is a really good one for us.
You know, unfortunately, a late night, but I hope the crowd
with their money's worth.
But yeah, just another big opportunity tomorrow.
This win puts us a little bit more in the driver's seat.
I have no idea what the other teams in the league did tonight.
But puts us a little bit more in the driver's seat.
We're just trying to chip away at being a little bit more and more above 500.
All right.
Thank you, Cindy.
We'll see you
tomorrow for another big game.
Thank you very much.
All right.
