Well, you know, I think everybody's kind of sitting there going, what the heck happened in the second half of that line Sunday?
And, you know, Jim, to me, you know what, week one, I didn't learn anything about the Lions.
I didn't already know.
It's a
pretty
good offense and it's a deep
all year what that secondary does.
If you buckle up, that's the way it is.
They are going to have to outscore people all year long.
You know, going into week one, it's always kind of a mystery.
You don't know what you're getting.
So many teams don't play your starters, but I go with the trend while you're out on the same boat, so I think that's a wash.
But I watched the bulk of the Lions game, and they got that early lead.
pretty much seemed content.
Norm is an up and coming team, but for the game to get that close to get in no overtime, you're right, Sean.
It's just, it's, it's like we have it, but we don't really know if you want to take it from the Saints.
It was almost like they're trying to give it away.
That's the impression I got.
Yeah.
And I think that's a fair assessment.
You know, and I know much was made about how the Saints were a slow starter last year, but you kind of got to that point game where you were like, okay, they're not going to stop the Saints the rest of the day.
So once you have to hope for it,
point in time is for your offense to at least shift on some insurance points right and
right.
I think in particular when it was 21 to 14 and you know okay to 21 nothing leads the way.
Lions get the ball back you go at least go down the field and tack on a field goal right at the very least and for them to turn the ball over so quickly and and give them a chance to tie the game just like that that that was very frustrating to me it really was they just
back out watching you know if one wants to pay uh... that the offense is called back i guess you could say that but at the end of the day um... i think it's incumbent upon this defense to get a stop here and there and when it started to rain they were incapable of doing it i mean the saints just went down the field and um... that that jim to me that is going to be synonymous with what the detroit lions are this year they're going to have to outscore teams uh... they just are they they there isn't a lot in the defense of back
and obviously Kirby Joseph is up who knows what he's going to be when he comes back at least with Brian Branch you know there's a hope that you know when he's back he's really back so buckle up Lyon fans I think that's what this is going to be I think they're going to be a good team at the end of the year but do I think that they're one of the favorites in the NFC I don't look at it that way I really don't I know Lyon fans don't want to hear that but I got to call it as I see it and

They have to get right back at it.

And yesterday was kind of a snapshot in my opinion of the Jordan Logan experience.
You know, they seemed in control.
Everything was okay, and they're gonna, you know, they're gonna, and then, boom, just like that one, but it's light and struck for the bucking that the Packers couldn't answer, and it turned into a lapper, and what, the span of about three minutes and 45 seconds.
So, in my mind, you know, when you talk about that lineage, I'm gonna be honest with you, I think it's disrespectful to put Jordan Love's name up there with Brett Barb and Aaron Rodgers.
I do.
You know, Brett Barb was phenomenal.
Aaron Rodgers was phenomenal.
Jordan Love is
I think the Packers like their quarterback or a good team.
I think I'm feeling that way about the Lions.
The Lions are a good team.
The Packers are a good team.
You know, I have good teams that if you're being honest with yourself, don't legitimately have a chance to go comfortable this year.
The Bears look otherworldly and I think the biggest thing for the Bears was the question, can Ben get Caleb Williams to stop doing dumb things?
Because Caleb Williams' decision-making has been
It has been long pantied about now I didn't watch that game yesterday because I was busy watching with my lion's obligations and everything but if yesterday is an indicator I think everybody better look out because that was the one knock against Caleb Williams I think everybody in the brother knows all the talent in the world is there but you know some of the Decisions that he made on the field were were quizzical at best boy Ben Johnson knocks them out at knock that out of him Oh my goodness.
I think everybody should be afraid of bears

I'm going back to journal of 100% agree with you.
I don't even put them in the same book with a farm in Rogers and I would take part of over Rogers in a heartbeat, but it's just amazing.
You know, I had the same conversation with the Packer fan yesterday about the self life the window.
I said he hit his ceiling.
I compared him to a good goaltender.
You're going to make three or four really good saves every game, but every game you're going to make one or two mistakes.
What I mean by mistakes, mistakes at critical times, that will turn to you, because that's what he does.
I mean, he'll be going smooth.
I mean, look at that, look at that, look at that, look at that, see, look, what a beauty.
All of a sudden you let this leaker in from outside to blue line or center-ice, same with Jordan Love, that's second, third or fourth quarter.
You can almost pence one, one or two bonehead plays where there's no urgency when the game is still in the balance.
I think that's a fair assessment.
At some point in time, when you're in the league for a few years, you have to stop talking about what you think a guy is going to become.
Right.
And you have to start to deal with what he is.
And I'm at that point with Jordan Love.
Jordan Love can beat you.
I mean, as a Lyon fan, I saw that up close and personal on Thanksgiving Day last week, exceptional last year.
He really was.
And Jordan Love...
and beat you.
But is he the guy that can do it consistently?
Is he the guy that can elevate his game in the biggest moment?
And we haven't seen that yet.
And so when you're left talking to me about what you think a guy could be after a long period of time, well, then you start getting into that whole kind of category.
Well, I hope you can get there.
If he hasn't shown it yet, I have more data to suggest that maybe this guy that we saw
And I mean this at all sincerity.
He's a good quarterback.
I'm not saying he sings.
I'm not saying he's bad.
They should replace him.
But is this all he is?
And I think that we're getting into this is all he is territory.

So, you know, like I said, all I'm left to do is make the deduction and draw the conclusion that maybe just maybe they're going to default to Horkoff all along.

This is all the beatwriters in Detroit.
This is national beatwriters saying this.
There's nothing to compare this to.
And I think it runs hand-in-hand with some of the crazy stuff that's happened with the Detroit Tigers franchise.
It's, you know, is this a Christopher Eldridge problem?
You know, that's all you're left to do is kind of fall back and go, well, you know, if this kind of stuff is happening across the street at Comerica Park, you know, maybe this is an ownership issue or an upper

This team is nowhere close to competing and you have to start thinking in terms of hockey and unfortunately there hasn't been a whole heck of a lot of that going on.

So, in my mind, you know, when you talk about that lineage, I'm gonna be honest with you, I think it's disrespectful to put Jordan Love's name up there with Brett Barb and Aaron Rodgers.

You know, I have good teams that if you're being honest with yourself, don't legitimately have a chance to go comfortable this year.
The Bears look otherworldly and I think the biggest thing for the Bears was the question, can Ben get Caleb Williams to stop doing dumb things?
Because Caleb Williams' decision-making has been
It has been long pantied about now I didn't watch that game yesterday because I was busy watching with my lion's obligations and everything but if yesterday is an indicator I think everybody better look out because that was the one knock against Caleb Williams I think everybody in the brother knows all the talent in the world is there but you know some of the Decisions that he made on the field were were quizzical at best boy Ben Johnson knocks them out at knock that out of him Oh my goodness.

I'm going back to journal of 100% agree with you.
I don't even put them in the same book with a farm in Rogers and I would take part of over Rogers in a heartbeat, but it's just amazing.
You know, I had the same conversation with the Packer fan yesterday about the self life the window.
I said he hit his ceiling.
I compared him to a good goaltender.
You're going to make three or four really good saves every game, but every game you're going to make one or two mistakes.
What I mean by mistakes, mistakes at critical times, that will turn to you, because that's what he does.
I mean, he'll be going smooth.
I mean, look at that, look at that, look at that, look at that, see, look, what a beauty.
All of a sudden you let this leaker in from outside to blue line or center-ice, same with Jordan Love, that's second, third or fourth quarter.
You can almost pence one, one or two bonehead plays where there's no urgency when the game is still in the balance.
I think that's a fair assessment.
At some point in time, when you're in the league for a few years, you have to stop talking about what you think a guy is going to become.
Right.
And you have to start to deal with what he is.
And I'm at that point with Jordan Love.
Jordan Love can beat you.
I mean, as a Lyon fan, I saw that up close and personal on Thanksgiving Day last week, exceptional last year.
He really was.
And Jordan Love...
and beat you.
But is he the guy that can do it consistently?
Is he the guy that can elevate his game in the biggest moment?
And we haven't seen that yet.
And so when you're left talking to me about what you think a guy could be after a long period of time, well, then you start getting into that whole kind of category.
Well, I hope you can get there.
If he hasn't shown it yet, I have more data to suggest that maybe this guy that we saw
And I mean this at all sincerity.
He's a good quarterback.
I'm not saying he sings.
I'm not saying he's bad.
They should replace him.
But is this all he is?
And I think that we're getting into this is all he is territory.

So, you know, like I said, all I'm left to do is make the deduction and draw the conclusion that maybe just maybe they're going to default to Horkoff all along.

This is all the beatwriters in Detroit.
This is national beatwriters saying this.
There's nothing to compare this to.
And I think it runs hand-in-hand with some of the crazy stuff that's happened with the Detroit Tigers franchise.
It's, you know, is this a Christopher Eldridge problem?
You know, that's all you're left to do is kind of fall back and go, well, you know, if this kind of stuff is happening across the street at Comerica Park, you know, maybe this is an ownership issue or an upper
management issue.
There's nothing
to compare it to, and that's what makes it so darn strange.

But when multiple national beat writers are saying they reached out to teams, asked for permission, but then never followed up, that really does make one scratch ahead and go, what exactly is going on right now?
And that's where we're at.
And, you know, to the surprise of nobody you mentioned Dylan Larkin, they're not going to let him wear the T. I still don't believe he
here long term.
I don't believe he wants to be here long term.
It would be in the best interest of this hockey club where they're at right now to try to get whatever value they could from Dylan Larkin within reason because they're asked to have been out of this world.
And I know Alex to bring it being a kid from the backyard in Firmington Hills wants to be here.
I would jettison him out of here too.
This team is nowhere close to competing and you have to start thinking in terms of hockey and unfortunately there hasn't been a whole heck of a lot of that going on.

Especially one name you mentioned inside, or Elliott Freeman.
I mean, when he says this, when he mentioned something that's pretty much gospel, I love his stuff.
