Coach friend Jennings joins his coach.

How was Weston played overall this year?

Oh, we're doing okay.

Yep.

Um, we've, we've had our ups and downs a little bit with a lot of younger guys in the lineup, but, um, we're doing okay.

Yep.

Right now the conference, I know Ithaca has had a good start to the season, but really it's, it's still up for grabs in the, in the league, isn't it?

It really is.

Yeah.

Yep.

This is one of those seasons that there's a lot of teams in the conference that can kind of throw a wrench in your plans if you don't give them credit.

So yep, absolutely.

And what game do you think Weston has played at its best so far?

Um, I would say the honest, the first game we played against North Crawford, North Crawford is a much better team this year.

And, um, we really played seven innings of baseball to win that one.

Um, we only wanted three to two, but, um, yeah, it was a really good solid game for us.

Have you had a lot of cancellations, right?

Then you got to make up here.

Um, not too many.

Um, we, we've got the DeSoto game.

Unfortunately we traveled to DeSoto.

We've got to play one inning of baseball and got to come back home.

Um, so we've got to make that trip again.

But other than that, just non-conference games that, um, more than likely won't be made up.

You've got a young team, but I've also mentioned quite a few names this year that have played in the past.

So how many veterans do you have back with a year this year?

So this year for returners, our entire outfield pretty much is returners.

Ross Albaugh in center field isn't a returner, but he played a lot last year.

But we've got Isaac back at shortstop and pitching Trevor at third base, Trevor Westwall, and also pitching cementing for us.

We've got a new catcher this year, Jacob Keller, he's a freshman, doing a good job for us, solid ball player.

Um, a new first baseman and Gavin cast and, um, Eli Jennings is playing shortstop or third or pitching.

So he's also a freshman.

I saw you had seven RBI's last night from Trevor Westfall.

Is that a school record or do you know?

Yeah, I haven't checked into it, but it's got to be awfully close.

I'm sure one of the Thompson boys or somebody probably had that many or more somewhere.

I would think so.

Yeah.

What do you expect from Ithaca tonight, coach?

It seems like Jessica is always a battle.

Yup, winter lose.

You know, we just got to keep our head on the swivel when we get down there and play solid baseball.

But yeah, it's to use not a better term, a dog fight when you go into Jessica with the Bulldogs.

Yup, absolutely.

Do you have many kids on the roster that played in that sectional semifinal against them three years ago?

Not too many.

Our senior class,

Um, like Trevor Westwall and Isaac Jennings, they'd probably be both the only two that were, um, starters back then.

Yeah.

Well, it should be a cool night tonight, even though it's the last day of April.

We really look forward to the game tonight, coach.

Thanks for joining us and good luck the rest of the way.

Yep.

Thanks.

You bet.

Supply.

I know you've had some good matchups with them in the past.

What do you know about this year's Western team and what makes them tough, Kyle?

Jennings is a very, very, very good pitcher.

I'd be Isaac Jennings.

And then, like I said, they have some good bats in their lineup as well.

For the Bulldogs right now, you're playing pretty injury-free, are you?

Yep, but we're perfect on that part of it, and there's no injuries right now.

When you look at the conference down the stretch here, you got about, what, three weeks to tune it up here.

Really, the Bulldogs control their own destiny, don't they?

Yeah, we have quite a few games in a short amount of time here.

So, like I said, just got to hopefully continue

to build on what we've been doing right and get better at it.

Do you have any tournaments coming up for weekends in the future here?

Yeah, we host one ourselves.

Not this weekend, but next weekend we play Southwestern and then a far-off school called Richardson Center.

Oh, all right.

Well, that should be a good tournament.

And I'm guessing right now, those out-of-conference games are pretty important for you, aren't they?

Yeah, they are like I said, it's proceeding because if you can beat a team that's in a higher division it can help Have you looked ahead at that?

You know the teams are you group with pretty much the same Ridge and Valley teams or how does that look?

We're basically with the servers and then it's the Ridge and Valley minus Weston What are the Bulldogs have to improve upon do you think the most here down fielding?

Our defense this point this season, you know You're hoping to have some of those those miscues out of the way

You know, and does the weather play a factor when the weather isn't so nice?

You can feel the ball if it's sunny or windy or rainy.

That's so, no.

I'm not going to let the weather be an excuse for that, but we should be able to build on it as we get going.

Sounds good.

Well, good luck as you get ready for Weston tonight.

Should be a great game.

We'll look forward to calling it a cop.

Yeah, well, thanks, Phil.

You bet.

play.

From Ithaca, good afternoon, everyone.

Welcome to today's broadcast.

We're underway.

Weston, Eli Jennings has let off with a single, and we're going here.

Houston Bolin on the mound for the Bulldogs.

Spencer Nelson behind the plate.

The battery there for the Bulldogs.

And Brady Westball is up to bat here with that runner leading at first base.

There's a bouncer towards second.

Pick up at second.

The throw in time.

It acts as a sacrifice, though.

as Eli Jennings moves to second base.

So there is one away on the ground out, Isaac Fargent at second over to Cody Burns, also in the Bulldog infield, Caden Keller at shortstop, and Devin I'm at third base, Quintus Banker at left, Keegan Jones in center, and Mackay Taalo is in right field, and here is Isaac Jennings.

The pitch is swung on and fell back for strike one.

Jennings will be the starting pitcher for Weston this afternoon.

He'll be followed by Trevor Westfall at third base.

Gavin Cast at first.

Ross Albault in center.

Jacob Keller the catcher.

Blake Bingham in left field and the DHS William Johnthrooth.

Runner leads at second.

Pickoff move and he's back in time.

Boland wheeling over to the shortstop.

Kate and Keller, but the runner is there.

What a

way runner at second base here today.

and Houston Bowen getting set from the stretch.

There's the pitch.

That one hangs high.

Count goes to one ball and one strike this afternoon.

Little bit of a breeze blowing, not much though.

That leg in center field is kind of just rustling a very little bit.

And that's a good thing.

A little cooler on the center center today.

Here's the pitch.

Swing and a bouncer foul outside a third.

Four strike two.

Isaac Jennings pulling it down the line.

Did not miss by very much.

And the runner Eli Jennings retreats to second base.

Isaac Jennings, one of the more veteran players here on this Western team in terms of innings.

He is a senior.

Ian Trevor Westfall and Braden Gregory are the seniors.

Batter back in.

Here's the pitch.

That one is low.

Two balls and two strikes.

Jason Roode calling the balls and strikes and some guy Henry Bray.

He's at second base tonight.

Doing the bases.

Here we go.

There's the pitch.

That one is called a little upstairs and the count now is full to Isaac Jennings.

Three balls and two strikes to the batter.

Hunter leads slightly at second base.

Here comes the pale bitch from Houston swing into this and there are two away Jennings with a big old cut at a high fastball and here comes Trevor Westball Next in line number 33 is mentioned the senior Getting set to step down I think they're gonna intentionally walk him and they will

So Westfall intentionally walked.

First walk given up tonight and the batter will be Gavin Cast.

So that creates the force at second base.

Also avoids one of Weston's hot hitters.

So Gavin Cast has had a pretty good year too.

Here's the pitch.

Swing and a miss.

Nothing in one.

Do the batter.

Great to have you along tonight for this long time matchup and rivalry.

First of two meetings, they'll meet on May 18th at Weston in Casanovia.

Nothing in one pitch.

Here's the deal.

Swing and a miss.

Strike two.

Runners back to first and second.

Now they'll get their leads again.

Bolin working quickly.

Here comes the stretch and the pitch.

Swing and a miss.

He got him on three pitches and that'll do it.

Two strikeouts at the inning for Houston Bolin.

For Weston, no runs and a hit, no errors.

Two left the board after half-bending.

It is a Weston team that is scoreless after one, and it could come up from WRCO at WRCO.com.

Now's your chance to qualify for my kind of Friday night with Luke Combs at Lambeau Field.

Sounds like my kind of Saturday night.

Here's this hour's keyword to text.

And the keyword for this hour is night.

N-I-G-H-T.

Like it's going to be a cool night in Richland Center.

All you have to do is go to the Civic Media app.

If you haven't downloaded it already, go to the Google or Apple Store, download it and go to W-R-C-O and text the word night.

N-I-G-H-T.

Good

luck.

Here's the Ithaca batting order.

Kate and Keller the shortstop leads off, followed by left fielder Quintus Banker.

Houston Boland the pitcher hits third.

Cody Burns at first batting cleanup.

Isaiah Fargent at second base hitting fifth.

Hegan Jones in center field hitting sixth.

Makai Ta'alo is playing in right field batting seventh.

Devin I'm at third, hitting eighth.

And Derek Fransen, the DH bats knight.

Spencer Nelson, the catcher on the other side of that bracket as well.

And Isaac Jennings on the hill.

Here's first pitch number one.

It's going to be driven to left.

And it is caught by Blake Bingham in left field.

Lyme drive shot right half the batter, right from the batter, right to the left fielder.

And there is one away.

Gavin Kaft at first.

Ryan Greenwood at second.

Eli Jennings in short.

Trevor Westfall at third for the Silver Eagles.

Jennings from the wind up, there is the pitch, and it is taken just a bit low.

One ball, no strikes.

Lake Bingham and Lapt has already been tested.

Ross Albaugh in center, and Brady Westfall in right.

There is the strike called.

One ball and one strike.

Jennings also working quickly.

Long, lean, and lanky right-hander.

Here comes the pitch.

Change up is called a strike.

One ball and two strikes to the batter here in the bottom of the first inning with one away.

Isaac from the wind up, here comes the pitch, reached out and touched the left field, bring him over and he's got it in the left center field gap and there are two up and two down.

Two put outs to the outfield and that'll bring up Houston-Bowlin.

Houston one of the seniors and he was one of the contributors

in that game, Ibica and Weston, and sent out final action just three years ago.

He was a freshman.

Here's the pitch.

Check swing, and it is down low for a ball.

Back it goes to the pitcher.

Two outs in the inning.

The 1-0 offering is swung on and sought off foul.

One ball and one strike.

Bulldog seniors are Cody Burns, Derek Franson, Houston Bowland, Devon Ime, Keegan Jones, Hunter Moll, Tyler Steinmetz.

Got a good group of seniors.

Here's a chopper slowly toward third.

Gonna have to hurry the throw and they'll get him.

Trevor Westphal over to Gavin Cavs.

And there are three up and three down here in the Bulldog order.

Nice inning for Isaac Jennings.

No runs, no hits, no errors.

Little left on, we are scoreless after one in Ridge and Valley baseball from WRCO and wrco.com.

Ross all ball leading off in the top of the second for Weston looks at a ball in the dirt from Houston Boland No score in the ball game pitch number two is outside two balls and no strikes to the hitter Ross Back in with a wide open stance.

Here's the pitch that is called a strike two and one Ross playing center field for the Eagles

Here comes the next pitch.

That one swung on and missed and there are now two strikes on the batter.

Weston three and three in the Ridge and Valley Conference coming into the game.

Here's the next pitch.

That one misses high and it's ball three.

Open up with a win over North Crawford.

North Crawford is a good ball club.

We saw them here against Ipica about a week and a half ago.

Here's the payoff pitch down low and Weston has a base runner.

Second walk given up by Bollen, the first one unintentionally, and the batter will be Jacob Keller, the catcher.

After that early win, they lost to DeSoto and Seneca.

Bounced back with a win against Wasika Stubin in their good ball club as well.

Lost 4-3 to Seneca.

Here's the pitch down low for a ball.

And then with that win last night over LaFarge, even the record to 3-3,

In the ridge and valley, Weston now three and four overall.

Runner leads it first.

The pitch is called a strike.

One ball and one strike.

Keller hitting seven in the order.

Second inning that Weston has had a base runner.

All ball gets the lead and here's the pitch.

That one is a little bit low.

Down goes to two balls and one strike.

Crowd continues to file in.

It's always a major event when these schools play in baseball.

This pitch is just outside three and one.

Schools are combined now for football and girls basketball.

Of course they have been for wrestling for quite some time.

The stretch and the pitch, bouncing ball, foul outside of first base or strike two.

They do not combine for cross-country.

Weston has had its own team and Ithaca co-ops with Richland Center for that.

Girls' basketball is co-op now and girls' softball.

And track, of course, has been a long time co-operative.

Caught looking is Keller.

Nice pitch from Houston Bowlin.

That is out number one.

So one away with the runner at first base and here is Blake Bingham.

Getting a lead at first base is all ball.

Bolen with a pitch.

It is called a strike.

Nothing in one to the batter.

William John's Rood due next for Weston here in this second inning of action.

No score in the ball game.

Bolen ready.

Here comes the pitch.

Swing and a miss.

Two strikes on the hitter.

Batter steps out.

and now ready to go.

Bolin is ready to go as soon as you step in there.

He's back to the belt and there's the pitch.

Bright called and that'll get him for out number two.

That will bring up William Johnthru the designated hitter.

Runner remains at first base for the Silver Eagles.

Bolin has done a good job after walking the opening batter who remains at first base.

Here comes the pitch pop follow out of play.

Over into the parking lot.

We'll see who's got good insurance.

We're a four car.

Is it bounced right over the top of all of them?

Nothing in one.

I left the vibe by the bush flat bridge.

I didn't want it to get dented.

Nothing in one.

There's the pitch.

It's upstairs.

One ball and one strike to Weston's number nine batter in the order.

All ball gets a lead at first base.

Bolen ready to go.

There's the pitch.

Bouncing ball headed up the middle in there for a base hit.

The runner stops at second base hit for William Johnsrew.

Number nine hitter gets one through.

There are two on with two away for the Silver Eagles and now back to the top of the order and Eli Jennings to singled in his first trip tonight.

Makes his way in.

Bolen checking the runner at second base.

And the pitch, that one is high.

Bounces away just briefly from Nelson, but not far enough for the runners to advance.

Eli Jennings, just a freshman for Weston.

Butters lead, one and two.

Here's the pitch, bounce sharply towards second.

Margin goes the short route to second.

Covering it is the shortstop Keller, and that is out number three.

They get John's route down to fourth.

into a fielder's choice for Eli Jennings and that rounds out the inning for Weston.

They had some promise but didn't get it done.

No runs and a base hit.

No errors too left on.

We go to the bottom of inning number two.

Cody Burns with a grounder to short picked up there by Eli Jennings and across the Gavin cast in time.

And there is one up, one down here at the bottom of the second.

for the Bulldogs who've gone in order so far.

Here's Isaiah Farjan, and he swings and misses.

Nothing at one.

Farjan and then Keegan-Jones for the Bulldogs who will commence on May 30th here in Ithaca.

There's the pitch outside for a ball.

One ball and one strike.

Coming down to the year-end of things for many events.

One-one offering.

Here's the pitch.

Swing and a piece of it.

Strike two.

Western having its fine arts program tomorrow.

That sounds like a great deal We talked about it earlier this week on the morning show that's performers coming in from outside the area Bargain goes around that's a swing and a miss and there are two away now So two up two down quickly in the bulldog order and Strikeout number one for Isaac Jennings.

This will be Keegan Jones the center fielder of the Bulldog seniors

Standing in with two away.

Here's the pitch.

Low and outside.

One ball and no strikes.

Jones playing center field.

Late quarterback for Ithaca the last couple of years.

Here's the pitch and a strike call.

One ball and one strike.

Halo is due next.

Here's the pitch.

Swing and a missed strike two.

Boy, Isaac is bringing the eight.

One ball and two strikes from the wind up.

There's the pitch.

Swing and a bouncer toward first.

Gloved by Gavin Cass.

Put race to the bag.

He's there in time.

And that'll do it.

The Bulldogs go one, two, three for a second inning in a row.

No runs, no hits, no errors, none left on.

Two complete.

Big Hook.

Local, reliable, and ready to haul.

Brady Westfall leading off here in the third inning for the Silver Eagles Isaac Jennings will follow and Trevor Westfall.

They are the two three and four batters and Here in the inning Westfall is watched now three out of the strike zone from Houston bowling starting the third inning and there's a strike So three and one hitters count top of three here at Ipica Here's one upstairs.

That is ball four and Westfall is aboard the one on

to lead off the inning and that'll bring up Isaac Jennings.

Weston has had base runners in all three innings.

Jennings today, a strikeout victim his first time up.

Runner leads at first base.

Now with a more significant lead.

Olin ready, there's the deal.

That one is called a strike.

Nothing in one.

I like how Houston works too.

He'll glance the runner and then just go.

I mean, sometimes pitchers will throw three times the first base and then throw a wild pitch.

So here's a high fly on the left field side, foul ground.

Devon Imus over, and he's got it.

Up on the grassy knoll there above third base, pulls it in and foul ground for out number one, and the batter will be Trevor Westfall.

He was intentionally walked last time.

No score in the ball game, top of three.

Westfall leads from first.

Boland is set.

Here comes the pitch.

Popped high in the air behind second.

Who's got it?

Margin with a call.

Isaiah's got it for the out.

That's a big out for the Bulldogs and there are quickly two away.

The batter will be Gavin Kast.

Gavin, a strikeout victim last time.

Time is called as the runner retreats back to first base.

Here's number 11, Gavin Kast.

Houston bowlin ready there is the pitch that is called outside for a ball One ball and no strikes last day of April it seems like the season just started although we've been We were lucky.

We had a couple of games so that we were able to get in in March this year So we've been at it over a month governing spring sports There is a strike to Gavin cast of account goes to one and one and we'll go another

Up there so depending hopefully we have a team go quite a ways with the playoffs

One

one here's the pitch foul ball and out of play These two schools and I haven't looked closely at this the half sectional pairing But they're gonna go in opposite directions.

It sounds like it's a Weston will stay kind of more in the northerly area and it to go We'll be heading toward the six rivers area.

That's tough.

That's tough down there.

That's for sure Which is down low for a ball

Two in one, they're all tough.

But they get down there with your Potosi Castills and teams like that, Belmont and a lot of good ball clubs.

Here's the pitch down low, of course Peccatonica, team the Bulldogs beat in the state final three years

ago

there in that area.

And they're good, we saw them just last year against Riverdale.

Full count offering, here's the pitch down low he walked in.

And so there are two aboard, two walks in the inning for Bolin, four total in the game, and the batter, Ross Albault.

Ross walked back in the second.

The time is called.

We're going to, I think there's a bat playing where it shouldn't be.

All right, we're ready to resume.

Renters at one and two, two away.

Here's the pitch, swing and a miss.

Nothing in one all ball with a good cut bowling bringing his best stuff that time Nothing in one runners leading at one and two Boland is set.

There is the pitch up high for a ball If it got coming in with a record of 6-0 in the region Valley 5 and 1 overall lost that opening game to Potosi Casville One-on-one count here's the pitch swing enemies

Down goes to one ball and two strikes here to the batter.

Boland the headlady wants to be.

Weston trying to keep it alive here.

Runners lead at one and two.

The pitch.

Swing and a miss.

They got him.

That is out number three.

Three away.

Makai Tahalo with a bouncing ball to shortstop.

Eli Jennings over to Gavin Cast and there is one away.

One up, one down.

Makai is gone and Devon Ime stands in.

The batter, Isaac Jennings, the pitcher.

And that has taken for a strike.

Nothing in one.

These teams are moving and grooving here.

Aren't taking much time.

Their first ball swinging, which I don't have a problem with that.

Here's a swing and a missed strike two.

Nothing in two.

I think both pitchers are throwing some strikes in there as well.

That helps.

Nothing in two.

Jennings has been right on accurate.

Here comes the pitch, and he went around.

Did he?

They're going to appeal it to the umpire, and yeah, he did.

He didn't hold his swing, so there are two away now.

Checking the strikeout for Isaac Jennings and the batter.

will be Derek Franzen, the designated hitter.

Franzen, batting in the place of Spencer Nelson, who's catching, but not batting tonight.

Derek has a Creighton Clearwater Revival walk-up song, too.

I like that.

High fly to right field.

Right fielder Westball coming over, and he's got it for the out.

One, two, three, four pitches, and Weston gets three outs here in the inning.

No runs, no hits, no errors, none left on.

We go to the fourth inning.

No score between Westin and Ithaca at Area Baseball from WRCO Sports.

Now's your chance to qualify for my kind of Friday night with Luke Combs at Lambeau Field.

Sounds like my kind of Saturday night.

Here's this hour's keyword to text.

And this hour's keyword is night.

N-I-G-H-T.

As in I hope you have a good night.

All you have to do is go to the Civic Media app, go to W-R-C-O, and text the word night.

N-I-G-H-T.

Good luck.

Welcome back to Ipica.

It's the top of the fourth already.

Jacob Keller will lead it off the western catcher.

will be followed by Blake Bingham and William Johnsroot.

Seven, eight, and nine batters.

Here's a rip to center.

Fairly well hit, but over to get it as Keegan Jones will be grabbed running toward left center field, and there is one up and one down.

Man, this game, as I mentioned, I've done a lot of baseball already this year, and most teams are taking one or two and then swinging to the third.

These guys, man, first pitch, they're going at it.

Bingham is the batter.

Here's the pitch, he'll follow it off.

Nothing at one, and Laurel Phil has always said, first ball might be the best one that you got when you're basing a pitcher.

Blake thought so, he kind of hits it inside out, out of play.

Here's the next pitch, swing and a miss, strike two.

Nothing in two, two of the batter.

Staff of the plate now, getting back in is the batter.

Oland from the wind up the pitch bowled off and out of here.

At the top of the bus garage, we used to climb up there every once in a while and retrieve a few.

Might find a one or two from the season before.

Jumping in two, here's the pitch down low.

One ball and two strikes.

Now it was always an event when we played West and back of the day as well.

Always some good battles.

Here's the pitch down low for a ball and of course you know each other really well.

Even more so now with social media and people playing on traveling teams and everything.

2-2 rip to the air, well hit.

Mackay is over and he's got it in the right center field gap for out number two.

So Bingham flies out and that'll bring up William Johnthrood who is singled back in the second inning.

Scarlett is here on the top of the fourth inning with Weston up.

Two away and the number nine hitter coming on, Johns root.

He bats in place of the second baseman, Ryan Greenwood.

Here's the pitch, that one is high, one ball no strikes.

Bulldogs so far with wins in the conference over Seneca, DeSoto, Lafarge, North Crawford twice and Kickapoo.

First meeting with Weston this year.

Here's a swing and a miss.

One and one Western trying to hand the Bulldogs their first conference loss.

I think I will get challenged here in the coming days as well.

They've got a game at Baroque what tomorrow night?

Here's the pitch.

Download for a ball.

And as Coach Kelly talked about on the pregame show, they've got that triangular next Saturday.

Not this, but next.

They'll play Richmond Center on that Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Swinging a miss by John's room, the count goes to two and two.

Batter is back in and nobody on, two away.

Here's the pitch, just a bit low.

Wow, that was close.

Count goes full now, three and two.

Top of the order looms for Weston against Houston Bowen.

Full count offering, there is the pitch strike.

three called and there are three away.

Houston Bolen gets his strikeout number six and Weston for the first time tonight goes in order.

We go to the bottom of the fourth inning no store between our teams Weston and Ithaca in high school baseball from WRCO Sports.

Caden Keller who flew out last time.

Here's the pitch and it backs him away for a ball.

One ball and no strikes.

Scoreless game bottom of four today in the ridge and valley.

Here's the pitch.

ripped in the air foul and out of play.

One and one.

Good to have the WRCO sports desk set up here at Ithaca tonight, sponsored by Ray's Do-It-Best and Rockwell Automation.

The next pitch from Isaac Jennings is down low and it is two and one.

Isaac has been sailing along here looking really strong.

Tonight for the Silver Eagles.

Two-one offering from the wind-up.

There is a bitch popped up.

First base side of this one is up play.

Two balls and two strikes.

So back it goes to the pitcher.

He's ready to go.

The deal is down low for a ball.

So the count, now full, three balls, two strikes.

From the wind up here's the pitch bouncing ball left field side in there for a base hit That's the first base runner for Ipica Isaac Jennings was perfect through three innings and Keller breaks up the perfect game and the no-hitter with a base hit one on for Quintus Banker Houston Boland to follow Here in the bottom of the fourth inning Jennings set to work

Keller leads by three or four paces at first.

He's off the pitch is low throw to second and not in time on a close play Keller whipping it down to Greenwood at second base, but Keller getting the stolen base To a man in scoring position Bulldogs trying to make hay with it Quintus banker back in that pitch was a ball The 1-0 offering he bumps it out in front of the plate

Picks up now by the pitcher and Jennings throws the first back the second not in time.

The ball came off the bat way too sharply to the pitcher and there wasn't a chance to get Keller over to third base.

He had to stay close to home.

So Banker thrown out at first and the sacrifice is not complete.

One three put out.

Keller at second.

Boland at the batter.

Houston grounded out last time.

Jennings to the belt.

Here's the pitch outside for ball one One ball no strikes to the batter.

We're in the fourth scoreless Bulldogs try to change that Jennings ready.

There's the pitch ripped down the line foul ball outside a third base or strike one One ball and one strike Bands lined up in lawn chairs from

Western dugout down the left field line.

Take some precautions today with a heavier coat or a blanket if you're sitting out there, winds are picked up slightly, blowing from the north.

Time out for the plate to be swept off.

What a way, a runner at second base for the Bulldogs and a one-on-one count.

Jennings back to the belt.

Here's the pitch upstairs for a ball.

The count goes to two and one.

Leading at second is Caden Keller.

Here is the pitch.

That one goes outside, and it is ball three.

Three and one now on Bolen, who has good power.

Stepping back in.

Jennings ready.

The three-one offering is a bullseye.

Wow, that was a fast ball.

The number one pitch.

Three balls and two strikes to Bolin.

Isaac ready.

Now, Dio, that one swung on and followed off the catcher and umpire.

And they'll come back and do it again.

Our old buddy Adam Hesse up in the crow's nest with a PA.

Add some tunes on, doing some Adam Haas jams, doing the Adam Haas shuffle, earlier tonight.

Pre-balls in two strikes, runner in second leads, here's the pitch, followed off and out of play.

Over toward the United Methodist Church, they'll come back and do it again.

His baseball is kind of like the hail that I saw, many saw.

Big storm a couple of weeks ago.

Full count.

Here's the pitch down low.

He walked in and he gets by and the runners move into third base.

So the Bulldogs with the runners at the corners and only went away.

Houston Bullen draws a walk.

First one given up by Isaac Jennings tonight.

So a hit and a walk and Cody Burns will be the batter.

Burns has been the RBI leader 11 of them.

So far, here's the pitch runner going first to second.

It's a strike.

There'll be no throw to second.

And now runners at second and third for the Bulldogs.

Second stolen base in the inning.

Nothing in one to burn.

Here's the pitch in the dirt in it's ball one.

One ball and one strike to the batter.

Glad to have you along tonight for high school baseball.

our first of two in a row between conference rivals in baseball.

1-1, there's the pitch, ripped high in the air.

It may not be deep enough to score the run, we'll see.

Westfall catches in right field, they tag Keller.

He's coming home, play at the plate, and he got in.

Umpire didn't call safe, but everybody's celebrating and he runs to the dugout, so it is one to nothing Bulldogs as Keller comes in.

And that will be Isaiah Fargent coming to the plate.

So Burns gets the run home with a fly ball to right field.

Brady Westfall came up with a pretty good throw.

Keller is quick.

He had a good jump off a third coming home.

Here's the pitch bounce toward the middle.

Knocked out by the pitcher.

Run is coming in to score.

Throw the first and they got him.

And the score stays one to nothing, I believe.

Yes, it will as the play is made at first.

Bulldogs almost scored run number two, but not quite.

Margin nailed one off of the pitcher's glove.

A one, four, three put out, and that will do it.

In the inning, one run, there was one hit.

No errors, and one left on.

We go to the fifth inning this afternoon.

It's already becoming an instant classic here.

Great ball game at Ithaca.

1-0 Bulldogs leading the Western Silver Eagles at WRC Radio Sports.

Here is the pitch, bounce sharply toward the middle.

Isaiah Farge in bottles, recovers, throws, plays, and Weston has a base runner.

Eli Jennings is aboard, and that'll bring up Brady Westfall.

So for the third time, let's see, one, two, three, fourth time today.

Weston has its lead off hitter on.

It went one, two, three last inning.

Butterleaf, here's the pitch.

Westfall bounces it slowly to third.

Love by I'm throws down the run and didn't get him.

Ball gets by.

Runner moving from second to third and he'll get second base.

The runner is at third and the runners at two and three for Weston.

No one out here and they got something going now with Isaac Jennings coming to the plate.

So the batter

Jennings looking for his first hit.

Weston with two runners on without a hit here.

Bulldogs have bobbled a couple and Jennings trying to bring them home and make them pay.

Here's a high fly to left field.

Good score the run.

Jones coming on and now called off.

It's Mackay making the grab.

Runner tags throw home.

Not in time and we're tied.

Runner going to third to throw, not in time.

And Weston has tied the score without a base hit.

Isaac Jennings gets the RBI on the fly ball.

Allo, making the grab in right center field, came up with a good throw to the cutoff.

But again, a good jump by Eli Jennings, getting home now Brady Westfall at third.

And the battered Trevor Westfall, he has been intentionally walked and he has popped out and he's going to be intentionally walked again.

So he'll get on down to first base Houston Boland today with his fifth walk second one intentionally runners at the corners Here's the pitch swing and a miss nothing at one to Gavin Cass Want a piece here top of five?

Oh and working from the stretch Back ready.

There's the pitch swing and a piece of it

Now two strikes on the batter.

Great to see lots of folks here today.

Going in for the event.

A lot of kids on the playground playing over there.

Is that Adam Hess over there on the swing?

I think it is.

Anyway, nothing in two.

Here's the pitch popped up third base side.

Who's got it?

It's going to be playable.

I am right by the Western dugout.

Pause it in for out number two.

That's a big out.

for the Bulldogs, and the batter will be Ross Auble.

Ross has walked and struck out.

He's got an RBI chance, but it'll take a two-out something or other.

Boland ready.

Pick-off moved to first, and the runner is back in time.

Trevor Westfall fully extended back in with a head-first slide.

Runner is leading.

at first and third.

Here's the pitch.

That is called a strike.

Nothing at one.

Had a chance to see the Ithaca-Weston softball team earlier this week against Riverdale.

That was a good close game all the way.

Here's the pitch down low for a ball.

One ball and one strike.

Riverdale wound up winning that one.

And there were some GV innings afterwards.

Good to see Larry Villard out there doing some coaching, helping out the softball programs.

Here's one fell back and out of play.

One ball and two strikes.

Our game tomorrow, another great conference rivalry of the SWAL as Riverdale takes on Fenimore.

Riverdale's got a great year going in the swall.

Check swing and it's a ball down low.

Two balls and two strikes.

Weston alumnus Kurt Thompson, who graduated a few years ago.

Probably five or ten.

I don't know.

Here's the pitch, ripped toward the middle, cutoff and shortstop.

Nice play.

Caden Keller on the second base bag.

That is out number three, and that will do it for Weston.

Ross Albault into a fielder's choice, but the Eagles come back and tie the score without the aid of a base hit.

There were two errors and two left on.

One a piece.

It is the bottom of the fifth inning.

Keegan Jones will lead it off for the Bulldogs.

One-one ball game.

Isaac Jennings on for his fifth inning of work.

Here's the pitch, and it is a ball low.

One ball, no strikes.

Makai Taalo is up next, and then Devin Aime, bottom of five.

Here's the pitch, down low for a ball.

Keegan watching all the way.

The Bulldogs are going to warm up.

A couple of players, looks like possible.

Pitcher warming up a little bit.

There's a swinging strike and it is two and one.

Junior Dax Neef is warming up for the Bulldogs.

There's a strike called on Jones and there are two strikes on the senior.

Isaac Jennings ready to work.

From the lineup, here comes the pitch.

Swing and a foul back.

Isaac bringing the number one pitch there.

Leaf for the Bulldogs is a lefty.

Ed Bolin not really certain with the pitch limit or anything today, but you always have to have someone ready.

Late meetings.

Here's the pitch, checks wing, and it's a bouncer for his face side, stays fair.

Picked up by the pitcher, they'll throw him out.

What a way, nice play by Isaac Jennings.

and that'll bring up Makai Tahalo and it's always good to have a defensive pitcher and that takes away, it's like a shortstop up the middle and that time he just made a really nice kind of senior move, didn't have to hurry to throw.

Here's the pitch down low for Baal.

Tahalo is up for the second time, grounded out back in the third inning.

Here comes the pitch, ripped to the end, pretty well hit.

It's dying quickly in the center field area.

Oh, nice running grab by Brady Westball, the right fielder.

Comes in at an angle and pulls that in for out number two.

Two up, two down.

Jennings has retired four in a row, dating back to last inning, and here is Devon I. Here's the pitch to Devon, and he'll take a look at a strike.

Nothing in one, two of the batter.

One, one, we're at the bottom of the fifth.

Jennings from the wind up, there's the pitch.

Swing and a miss.

Strike two.

Jennings are waiting a batter's return.

He's just ready to go.

Nothing in two, here's the pitch down low.

One ball and two strikes, two of the batter.

From the wind-up again, Jennings deals.

That one is swung on and fouled it.

And they'll come back and do it again.

And Riverdale-Fellamore tomorrow.

We look forward to that one and the Chiefs, and it's just got a good thing going.

They're competing well, and then all these stuff swall, and I believe Fellamore got them the first time in a closed game.

I remember, right?

Here's the pitch.

Strike three, called, and that'll do it.

Three up, three down, Isaac Jennings with his third strikeout today.

No runs, no hits, no errors, none left on.

Five complete here at Ithaca.

What a piece between Weston and Ithaca, an area of baseball from WRCO Sports.

And here's a rip toward right center field.

Keegan Jones coming over, and he makes the grab to center fielder.

Balls it in, Jacob Keller, first ball hitting.

Now this game has flown, and I need to look back here, but how many first ball swingers we've had in this game?

And a line out by Keller.

They're going up there, and they're aggressive.

Here's the pitch, down low for Ball, and I like that.

I mean, that's what you have a bat for.

Get up there and go at it.

And these teams are tonight.

Good matchup, 1-1, top of the sixth.

Here's the next pitch, bouncing ball toward third, picked up by I'm, the throw, close but got him.

Two up, two down, and that will bring up William Johnsrud, the designated hitter.

He's one for two, he had a single.

One run and two hits for Weston, one run and one hit for Ithaca, that's the way it's gone tonight in a pitcher's duel.

Bolin ready from the lineup.

There's the pitch and that is a try Nothing at one Battle of senior right-handers Bolin better known as a catcher, but he's become their number two pitcher this year Time out for the plate to be swept off now as the umpire makes a move to the front To be able to see it a little bit better Wait is swept and we're good to go now

Here comes the pitch, that one misses high.

A couple of swings for the batter, stepping out.

When this picked up again, a little bit of blowin' out of the north.

Here's the pitch, bouncing ball, or in there for a base hit.

Picked up by Mackay in right field, and at first base is Johnsrud.

As he snuck one through, Cody Burns, reaching out, trying to grab that ball, pretty sharply hit.

John Jude's got a hit for the second time and back to the top of the order Eli Jennings One on with two away Weston with he go ahead run at first getting a lead Here's the pitch check swing and hit his bat and it's foul ball nice play by the catcher for the Bulldogs going back to get that but the Ball is going to be played back to the pitcher.

Here's the pitcher runner leaning.

Here's a high fly

Behind second, back is Caden Keller, and he's got it, and that'll do it for Weston in the sixth inning.

In the inning, no runs, a hit, no errors, one left to board.

We go to the bottom of inning number six, tied at one in area baseball from WRCO Sports.

Stemming, here we go, as the Bulldogs stand in and taking a strike, is Derek Fransett.

Isaac Jennings, man, he's in the zone tonight as well.

One-one ball game, bottom of six, here's the pitch, swing, and a missed strike two.

Top of the order due next, Caden Keller and Quintus Banker.

Time out again for the plate to be swept.

Our ball game, just an hour old, and we're in the bottom of a sixth.

That might be a new record for me.

Here's the pitch.

Swing and a fly toward left field.

Centerfielder coming out, won't get it.

It's a base hit.

Derrick Fransen with a solid single, just the second hit today for the Bulldogs.

Back to the top of the order, and Caden Kirk.

One for two, he has scored, if it is only run, single and stole a base.

Here's the pitch runner going it is a ball through the second post and they didn't get him as the ball popped loose Boy that was very very close if the ball stays in the mid Weston had him Branson steals a base and That first pitch was called a strike on Keller.

So nothing at one It's like a warming up again a couple of players

On the near side, here's the pitch, ripped in the air, towards center, deep, back goes the center, fielder, it's over his head.

And here goes Branson, he's being waved around third.

It's gonna be a double and then some, going to third is Keller with a triple.

It pops loose and now played by the third baseman.

That is a triple and the Bulldogs take a lead of two to one.

Couple of hits in a row for the Bulldogs.

Branson scores all the way from first base.

I should say second base.

Yeah, he stole the base.

So he scores from second base.

Keller, who's got great wheels, triples to knock in a run.

Here's a high fly on the right field side.

Nice play, Gavin Cast.

First baseman going back into the right center field area, and a backhanded grab for the first out.

So Keller stays at third base, and that'll bring up.

Houston Boland.

Bulldogs putting the bat on the ball, but again, first ball hitting.

Branson hit first ball.

Keller second ball.

Quintus banker first ball hitting.

Here's the pitch, down low for a ball.

One ball in those strikes, two to one Ithaca, bottom of six.

Looking at the Weston seventh, they'll have the two, three, and four batters up.

Good part of the order.

They'll have to try and rally.

There's the pitch down low for a ball.

Two balls in those strikes.

Boland, 0 for 1 with a walk.

Jennings from the wind-up.

There's the pitch, ripped on the ground.

Nice play.

There, Greenwood going home with it, and they won't get him.

Keller slides in, snap throw back to first, and Boland is back in time.

So 3-1 now.

The Bulldogs get insurance.

Keller scores easily.

And the batter will be Cody Burns.

Burns today has grounded out.

He has flown out.

Runner leaves at first base.

Dennings to the belt.

Here's the pitch, fouled off and out of play.

Nothing in one to Cody Byrne.

Two runs across in the bulldog half of the sixth inning.

Now with a two run lead.

Jennings ready to work to Byrne's.

Here's the pitch ripped in the air behind second.

Who's got it coming on the center fielder can't get it.

It's going to bounce in there.

Throw the second and they got him on the fourth down.

Houston Bowlin had to hold to see whether that was going to be caught or not.

Ross Allball did not quite get there in time, but wisely picked it up and threw out the runner at second base.

That takes away a hit from Cody Burns, fielder's choice, and that'll bring up Isaiah F. Argin with two away.

Runner at first, Burns.

Here's a chopper, hot shot to short.

Picked up by Eli Jennings, the throw with his stretch from Gavin Cass.

Got him.

Four outs, number three, and that'll do it.

Another first ball swinger here today.

Might be a...

High school sports record for me.

I've never seen that before.

Everybody going after the ball on the first pitch and that'll do it.

The Bulldogs score twice.

They do it with the aid of two base hits.

There were no errors and one left the board.

We go to the seventh, three-one Ithaca, leading Weston on WRCO Radio Sports.

We are ready for the seventh inning.

And leading off is Brady Westwall.

Brady Westwall is going to ground out nice play.

That is Boland over to Burns.

And there is one up and one down.

So the Bulldogs two outs away from a victory here today.

Here's the pitch to Jennings and Isaac Fowles went off.

It is nothing and one.

Three one bulldogs.

Western needs at least two to keep this one going here today.

Boland back on the hill.

Nelson with a glove up.

Here's the pitch upstairs for a ball.

One ball and one strike to the batter.

Boland back and ready.

Nobody on, one away.

Here's the pitch outside.

Count goes to two and one.

Occasionally a sprinkle.

Today, in early evening tonight, two-one here is the pitch down low, that's ball three.

Bolen trying to finish the game here, two outs away, and again, I think he's safe, pitch count wise, I'm not privy to that information, but he did have a couple of quick innings.

Here comes the 3-1 offering and it's going to be taken for ball four and Weston has a face-runner in the seventh inning Heading down to the bag will be Isaac Jennings That is walk number six Olin has intentionally walked Twice this guy Trevor West ball is all for one officially.

There's the pitch that one is upstairs one ball and no strikes for Weston

Tying one at the plate right now.

That's one of the things you think about here, trying to tie it up.

Here's the pitch, ripped toward the middle, in there for a base hit.

Jones charges it, and Isaac Jennings stops at second base.

So to a board with only one away for Gavin Cast, Gavin has struck out and walked and popped out as well.

So coming back now,

Runners at first and second.

Time out.

Now back in is the batter.

Cabin cast standing in.

Runners at one and

two with one

away.

The pitch swing and a miss.

Nothing in one.

Three runs for the Bulldogs on three hits.

One run and four hits for Weston.

Fall into back and ready.

There's the pitch.

Oh, lot of play.

Nothing in two.

Time out again for the plate to be swept.

Catcher and pitcher getting together to make sure they're on the same page.

Again, Weston with base runners.

Isaac Jennings in second.

Trevor Westfall at first.

Nothing in two delivery.

A swing and a foul out of play.

The jacketed crowd.

dispersing as that one landed kind of right in the middle of the galley there.

Nothing in two.

Bowland ready.

There's a pitch ripped in the air center field.

Jones has got it measured and he hogged it in for the out.

Out number two.

That will do it for Gavin Cass.

That's a big out for the Bulldogs and coming up now will be Ross Albaugh.

Ross has walked, struck out.

and hit into a fielder's choice.

Now a conference at the mound and I believe the Bulldogs, maybe Bolin did hit his pitch limit there.

They are coming out to the mound.

Looks like we're going to have a pitching change.

So Bolin goes to the seventh inning with two outs and two on.

Bulldogs leading 3-1 and Ross Albault coming up.

We'll be back in a moment.

Welcome back to Ithaca.

The pitching change has been made and they go to Isaiah Farjan who tries to close this one out here tonight.

The Bulldogs and the Weston is what has really been a nice ball game here.

Weston actually has had more base runners than the Bulldogs.

Weston has stranded looks like nine runners through six innings.

Stranded a pair in the first, second, third, and fifth innings have just not been able to get that clutch yet.

The Bulldogs have been able to get out of some innings.

So it is Houston Bolen's game to win, but Isaiah Fargent comes in.

He's got to help out and see if they can get the final out.

And if you're Weston, you've got the tying runs aboard.

Isaac Jennings at second, Trevor Westfall at first.

And Ross Allball the batter.

Bargin with the ball behind his back.

He's a right-hander for the Bulldogs.

The pitch is called a strike.

Nothing in one to Ross Allball.

Bargin making his way back in.

He's a junior for the Bulldogs.

Here's the pitch.

Bounce back to the pitcher.

Bargin gloves, throws him out, and that will do it.

This one belongs to the Bulldogs.

That is out number three.

and Ross O'Ball retired at first to end the ball game today in six and one-half innings in the seventh for Weston.

No runs and a hit.

No errors, two left to board.

Today's final in six and one-and-a-half, Ithaca gets the win three to one over Weston here on WRCO.

Today's Duncan Rewards turning point.

We go back to the sixth inning and Caden Keller with a RBI triple

That was the big play that got the Bulldogs the lead, knocking in Derrick Fransen, who had singled.

So the turning point didn't happen until the bottom of the sixth inning today.

The triple by the Bulldogs, Caden Keller, the junior, knocked it in and then scored a run on a fielder's choice.

And the Bulldogs had the run to go ahead and the insurance run to put a win in the books here today.

Welcome back to the Jalonic Plumbing and Heating Post Game Show.

I'm Phil Ney.

It's really been a good game here today to watch.

The game lasting about an hour and 12 minutes here today, which that's very, very rare for baseball.

The baseball games that I'm used to seeing, it seems like they normally take a couple of hours.

So it went very quickly today.

We had two pitchers that were up there going.

As we talked about, I don't know, I've seen a game where we had

first-ball swingers so many times as we did today but they were up there they were cut the way and uh... you know what the pictures especially jennings early on throwing some strikes back i think jennings had a perfect game after three innings it was broken up by kate and keller in the fourth when he single stole a base and eventually scored uh... then uh... uh... from there will also score those two runs in the sixth inning

A run to go ahead and the insurance run as well.

So Jennings takes the hard luck loss.

He strikes out three walks one and gives up three hits on the other side.

Houston Boland.

He has a total of six strikeouts and six walks.

Two of those were intentional and Isaiah Fargent comes in and faces one batter and gets the ground out.

In the game, Kate and Keller two for three with an RBI.

He scores two runs and also Houston Boland with a walk.

On base it looks like Derrick Cranston 1 for 2 as well.

That accounts for the Bulldogs 3 hits.

For Weston on the other side, number nine hitter William Jobsroot 2 for 3.

Trevor Westfall 1 for 2 and intentionally walked twice.

Eli Jennings was 1 for 4 and Isaac Jennings had an RBI for the Silver Eagles tonight.

Will fall to 3 and 4 in the Ridge End Valley and they are 3 and 5.

Overall, seven wins about a loss in the conference for the Bulldogs.

They are six and make that seven one now on the season overall.

Next action, the Bulldogs will be doing battle coming up tomorrow.

They've got a non-conference tilt at Verroqua for Weston.

Their next game will not be until next week.

They'll be taking on Wasika Stubin in Casanovia, and that is up on Monday.

The line score tonight, the Bulldogs three runs, three hits, two errors, and two left on for Weston, one run, four hits.

No errors, and this is what's going to hurt for Weston.

11, stranded today in the ball game.

It's a 3-1 final.

The Bulldogs get to the victory here, and we appreciate you joining us and supporting high school sports.

Here to see today of Jelena Fleming and Heading offering 24-7 service.
