The Richland Center girls basketball team broke a 45 game losing streak with a 55-54 victory in overtime over Viroqua on Tuesday.  The Hornets trailed by 12 in the first half, but cut the deficit to 6 (27-21) at halftime.  The Blackhawks led throughout the 2^nd half before the game was tied at 47 after regulation.  Richland Center got key baskets and free throws to come back from a 4 point deficit in overtime. Sophomore Kylie Burns made key free throws at the end of regulation and in the extra frame. She was fouled attempting a 3 pointer with 3 seconds to play in overtime.  Richland Center was trailing by 2 before she made 2 to tie the score. After a time out, Kylie made the 3^rd free throw to give her team the lead. Viroqua missed a halfcourt attempt and the Hornets celebrated its first victory of the year after 19 defeats and the first since February of 2023.  Viroqua fell to 8-11 on the season with the loss.
