Classic Cars And Classic Tunes With Cheryl McCrary!!

The Don Rosen Show · Mon Jun 8, 2026

Don Rosen

All right, big doings this Friday.

There's a big car show happening on the grounds of the Ridgewood Center.

And Ridgewood is located right there on Wood Road, right off Highway 11.

You can't miss it.

You'll see all the classic cars there.

That's Friday, June 12th.

And from 11 a.m.

till 3 p.m.

And special guests there will be Cheryl McRier.

You'll be singing, right?

Yes, sir.

Yes, it's gonna be a great day on Friday.

We're glad the rain's coming earlier this week.

So helping and praying we don't have it on Friday.

Don Rosen

You're gonna sing my little GTO car songs at all?

Oh, yeah, we're gonna have some fun car shows out there.

Definitely always gotta have a good pile of songs on the musical itinerary genre for that day, but it's gonna be great time.

Don Rosen

Okay, now a lot of cars are gonna be there all different kinds of classic cars and it's free, right?

It's free on the grounds of

the Ridgwood care center.

And it's just off Highway 11.

You can't miss right opposite the old Regency Mall, which I think is now called Pritchard Park Mall.

I think they changed the name of it.

So you'll see it right there.

You'll see all the classic cars, probably hear them too.

Oh, I'm telling you, I don't know

if it's

Don Rosen

I don't know if I'm getting old or not.

But on Main Street, all I hear are these loud cars now with these backfiring mufflers they put on the cars.

I didn't notice

when I was

Don Rosen

younger.

I think as an old person now, I'm getting onry.

Yeah,

you whippersnappers, stop it.

I know exactly.

And I think either that or the people that have to wear earplugs, they're going to have to wear a little bit stronger earplugs.

But yeah, some of the cards that come out, they have some pretty amazing engines.

We are out at another show getting some things ready and saying at another show out there for another show this past weekend.

And we enjoyed it.

Inviting other people come out and I met an amazing veteran that served in Vietnam.

And with the pageant journey I'm doing right now, it's exciting to be able to help embrace the legacy of our nation's veterans and EMS responder heroes, and PTSD awareness with the All-American Missile Wisconsin Lady pageant that I'm helping out right now to do.

But anyway, it's going to be great to see some of our amazing friends from there out there tomorrow too as well.

But it's going to be at 3205 Wood Road.

And that's right there, again, right across from the old agency mall.

I believe Woodman's is right there too now.

Oh yeah, it's

Don Rosen

probably easier to say across from Woodman's.

That's right.

What kind of music are you singing at the car show?

Well, we like to do all different varieties.

We like to just mix it up a little bit from P-Tradic to standards, oldies, light rock, a little bit of jazz.

And of course, we've got to have some of our Mustang Sally's and some of these.

Oh

Don Rosen

yeah, Mustang Sally.

Yeah, okay.

Oh, yeah, we'll be definitely doing that.

I used to actually own a Mustang, so I had a 68 Mustang.

So I had to get rid of it, though, because it was, it was Nicollin Dimean, and there was a lot of parts that were going to say that after a

Don Rosen

while.

Do you know the Mustang was originally, it was invented by Ford for women.

It was a woman's car, and eventually became known as the pony car, or the muscle car, but it was originally for women.

And then guys said, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I love this car.

And so it became a, they called it one of the pony cars because it was, you know, like Mustang.

So you owned a Mustang or an original Mustang, a 66 or what?

I believe it's a 68.

Oh, 68.

Yeah.

You got on the good years

Don Rosen

of it.

Yeah.

Yes, but that's some good trivia.

I didn't know.

I have to remember that.

I have to sing an event today.

So I'm going to have to let them know I'm over at our army club today.

since the fashion, since the music for them, and I'll have to share that little trivia when I sing that song, because my husband and I like to do little trivia between singing.

So we might have to throw that out there and Friday, when we do

Don Rosen

that song.

If they viewed at the 1964-65 World's Fair in New York, that's the first time they ever showed a Mustang to anybody, and it was for women.

It was like the sports car for women, and guys said, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

This is a muscle car.

We're going to make a

And of course, I don't think they even make the Mustang anymore.

I'm not even sure.

But so you got on the Mustang Sally.

Now I got to think about all the car songs, my little GTO I know of.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

We have, we'll pull in some car show songs and we'll pull in some of the old oldies that stand by me and we'll kind of pull them in.

Of course, we have a lot of that and joy coming out and the residents at Ridgewood will be out there.

Uh, enjoying it as well.

Come on out and I know their family will know families and bring out the card that they need to bring out.

So, uh, they'll come on out.

It's great.

It's free.

There'll be some giveaways and, uh, I guess some special surprises that I'll be sharing and giving out as well.

And, uh, so Steve is the activity director there at Ridgewood and Scott and so, uh, he's the, um, other coordinator there.

So we're going to, we're just going to have a great time and, and just enjoy family community and, and again, um,

Just coming along is the All-American Mrs. Wisconsin Lady representing our veterans and EMF responders.

It's going to be an honor to be out there to meet a lot of those who are serving in our armed forces.

And we'll have another car show coming up that covers later on in the month on Douglas on the 22nd.

So that could be another great time together as well.

So we're going to have a young lady come out on Friday who actually makes cards for veterans.

And so we have partnered together to do some events.

And we're going to try to have some of those cards available, hand out some of our veterans on Friday.

Her name is Nati, so she's going to be out there.

And we're going to have a great time to help just encourage our veterans who have served and presented with some pretty wonderful homemade cards as well.

So we're looking forward to a really great time.

So come out with your family, friends, and it's family friendly.

So come on out and enjoy the day.

We're just going to have a great time to meet with community.

Let everybody see what kind of hot rods everyone's going to bring out.

Hot rods.

And a lot of car shows.

You're

Don Rosen

dating yourself now saying hot rods.

You know, I figured if I hold on to my Chevy Malibu a little longer, it's going to be a classic car.

It's a couple more years and I could throw it into the show.

All right.

Cheryl McCrary is going to be the featured performer.

Music by Cheryl McCrary, recording artist, all American, Mrs. Wisconsin lady.

And that's going to be at the car show, being held at Ridgewood Care Center, which is right there on Wood Road, just right down the block from Woodman's, right across from Woodman's on from Highway 11 on Wood Road.

And that'll

be

Don Rosen

this Friday, June 12th, from 11 a.m.

to 3 p.m.

And we're going to mention the rain date.

It won't rain, but in case there's a rain, it's the next Friday, June 19th.

So, all right.

Right.

Well, Cheryl, thanks a lot.

We'll be

Don Rosen

there.

Thanks a lot for waking up.

I do appreciate it.

Oh, you bet.

Well, come on out and enjoy it.

Our band will be out there having a good time.

We look forward to seeing you out there.

We've seen, spread the word and share the post.

Don Rosen

Thank you, Cheryl.

I appreciate you.

Thanks, Tom.

Don Rosen

Bye-bye.

Cheryl McCreary.

And again, she's going to be at the car show Friday, June 12th.

This Friday, 11 a.m.

to 3 p.m.

at the Ridgewood Care Center.

Should be a lot of fun.
