I got the most depressing envelope I ever got in my life last week. I read the letter.
Apparently I've been pre-denied for a visa card.
I think they talked to MasterCard. That's what I think happened.
I owe so much money to MasterCard. I saw a homeless guy. He was like,
I have nothing. I'm like, that is awesome. I have $18,000 less than that.
You're doing great. You're not even in the negative numbers.
You're even. How'd you get even?
Dayton, black, sky ripped apart. Rain free to lay down for my heart.
Hacks and leaks, the thought thoughts could fly. That took down at almost the gut.

County supervisor and older person, older person.
I can't bring myself this. It sounds like I'm missing the rest of the word.
You know, older, you know, and you want to say person, man, woman, whatever.
Who saw this coming? 66 degrees. Yes, I've taken the garbage, fails out.
And it was 66. I had no jacket on. This is a beautiful springtime.
And I get it this morning. The garbage, fails are blown over.
All the garbage is all over my lawn. I got to go pick it all up at, you know, 515 this morning.
I got scrapers on my car. I'm trying to get the ice off.
And then I know my wife's going to say, could you scrape my car? So I did.
Well, good morning. Yes, it was a surprise to me as well.
I wasn't paying attention to the weather forecast.
And so it, my garage responded by not opening.
So I had a park and actually scraped.
I heard you kind of shaming those who are driving with their little sight views that may have been me down.
I felt like you were directly scolding me.
They didn't have sight views. They didn't scrape the back.
You know, those things haven't 16th Street that tell you how fast you're going.
Now mine is always 2829. There's was a 43 when he passed it.
And he's dangerous. And he's got to get out of that lane. There's a park car coming up.
So he cuts me off. These people are late.
They don't allow extra time to travel.
And this is what happens. And so I need a crack down.
That's why I'm bringing you in this morning.
Okay. We need a crack down.
And by the way, I told my son to get rid of this.
Let's get rid of the snow shovels, the salt. Let's bring it all in the house.
We're done for the season. Who saw this coming?
Oh, down. It was you.
But I will just say in a lot, you know, in response that crack down,
you never know somebody could have been on a rush to their, you know,
dying loved one. No, no, no, no. This happens every morning.
Wow.
No, if it was once, I would say yes, but it happens throughout the morning.
I always try to, you know, find some positive instead of starting off angry,
being mad at everybody passing.
Well, I was a mad at him. I just, I said, you know, it's a car in the next lane.
You better get out of that lane quickly because I'm not stopping.
It can be dangerous. And they want me to stop to let them in.
Yeah. You know, I arranged my morning so I wouldn't be.
I was picking up the garbage early this morning outside of my lawn.
I arranged for all that.
So let's talk about the county government first.
Yeah.
Put your county hat on.
Yeah.
Are we in trouble? Are we doing well?
We are.
The things coming up that we should know.
There are.
There are some things coming up.
And I will tell you, you know, it's great when you have these warm weather
opportunities like yesterday unexpected.
You start seeing people enjoying outside with their pets and
also, you know, out in the yard doing things.
So first, I'll just remind you that there is that no-mo may opportunity for the city
where you can register your city-owned property as a no-mo may yard.
For 20 bucks, go down to city hall, sign up for it.
You get a yard sign and then you put on a list so you don't get any violations
for having overgrown grass or weeds.
But if you happen to be driving down Northwestern Avenue,
you'll be noticing that the quarry has some construction going on.
So their beach house is pretty well underway.
And it's set to be open at the end of spring.
So the end of April.
And you'll be able to enjoy the quarry as something I did as a young girl.
You didn't jump into that thing.
Did you off the...
I, oh, I'm not at that brave, Don.
I mean, I, I, I didn't grow up here, but I heard stories people jumping into that quarry.
That looks dangerous to do then.
Those cliff divers, I will tell you, they still, if you've ever enjoyed the quarry
even as of late before the construction, you will notice that the sheriff is constantly patrolling
because we still do have those deer devils.
Yes, it is.
Oh, I don't know.
Yeah, you can't do that.
I've never seen anybody do it.
I just heard stories about them.
Do you remember when the diving boards were at the quarry?
Now, see, I know, I can grow up here.
I don't remember that.
Oh, you did not, no.
I'm a New York City boy.
So those listening probably do remember.
Now, that's something I did do.
So they did have diving boards at the quarry.
But so that's something with the county to look forward to to enjoy outside once this warm weather gets back.
So what are they doing there at the quarry?
They're redoing the beach house, if you will, and the parking lot, and kind of giving it a revamp.
That's where the dog park is, right?
It is.
The dog park is still open, and that's the parking lot you would utilize if you want to still enjoy it now,
because you can still go and fish there and, you know, other recreational activities.
Yeah, so that part is still open.
But if you happen to go there, you'll notice that the beach house is getting a makeover and it's looking great.
Know that there's also for the county.
This will be the third annual youth sports expo at the Y.
And it's pretty fantastic.
It's free.
And for those who are looking further used to join into a sport and want to know about camps or program or coaching or officiating training,
it's free.
And it's from 10 to 1 at the Y March 2nd.
So it's right here, right around the corner here.
The city has also got some things going on.
This will have to go for final approval next Tuesday, but I will tell you it's past a couple of committees now.
But one is the Wisconsin Humane Society does an outreach for vaccination for pets.
So yeah, and it's fantastic.
It's advertised for zip code 5344, being that it's a zip code that's recognized to need.
It's the high rate poverty and lease access to care for their pets.
But it's at Lincoln Park.
And it'll be in May.
So May 11th is a backup day, but May 4th from 9 to 1 at Lincoln Park.
So bring your pets for vaccination.
If you don't live in the zip code, we are told you can still bring your pets.
So they will not turn you away.
You can sneak in.
You can sneak in.
But they, they, I mean, the whole idea is really.

Yeah, you may be highlighted.
No, no, no.
But what a great opportunity, though.
It is.
Yeah.
So they have to be vaccinated.
They don't, you really shouldn't ever make your pet not vaccinated.
I mean, every time we had a puppy or dog, we first got, we took a lot from the shelters.
First thing is to bring them over to the vet.
What does it got?
Let's get them up to snuff and make them healthy.
Because they're older dogs we got.
Yeah.
So it's a level of care.
It's a partnership with Racine and the Wisconsin Humane Society.
So, you know, these, to me, it's nice.
It's a great reminder, too.
And with this good weather coming, when you start seeing these pets outside,
and you know, our focus starts to, you know, shift a little bit.
So whether we're thinking of outdoor activities or recreation,
and if pets are going to be spending a little more time outdoors,
we might want to really make sure they're vaccinated.

So now with the older job in Racine, you are in district five.
Five.
That's what I thought.
Now district five, did you run unopposed?
I was not up for election this year.
No.
But for the county, but every county seat is up.
So on April's ballot, you'll be seeing all the county supervisors up for re-election.
So it's alternates years because I am in an odd district.
I will be up during the odd years.
And the event is...
Okay, so are you running, is somebody running against you in the county board?
No, I was up for a primary at the county board.
I had two people who filed, but they never submitted the rest of their documentation
that was needed to be on the ballot.
So I ended up being unopposed.
I started out thinking I was going into a primary and...
When I had the old candidate, the four candidates in here for the fourth district,
when was it?
At all four candidates.
I asked them all the same question, what do you want to do this?
I would never want to...
Well, it's a good thing people do because we need people doing it.
But people that bother you in restaurant, bothering you in the supermarket,
bothering you when you're walking down the street, bothering you all the time,
about their potholes and their neighbors who don't bother lawns
and their dogs barking in the neighborhood,
I couldn't deal with that.
I couldn't deal with it.
I tell them, if you don't like and move, that's what...
That would be my answer.
Wow, that would make things a lot easier or harder.
Actually, that was a response, but it's a natural...
If you are a problem-solver by nature, if you will,
and you want to give to your community,
but you are a collection of complaints.
And you have to grow really thick skin.
And if you don't have it, it starts to grow over years.
You know, I had Disarchant Christie Wilcox
when they were seeing police department in here the other day.
And I said to her, I don't know how you deal with people.
These belligerent people, you pull over, you stop.
I would taze everybody.
I would just get my taze her out and say,
even if they said, well, what are you stopping me for?
Bizz, I'll give them a taze.
That's what I'm stopping you for.
And I get out of your car.
I don't know.
The police, some of these cops have the patience of a job.
I don't know how they do it.
Because I can never, I can never be a police officer.
I couldn't deal with this.
But we sure appreciate that they do have it.
But I almost want to have a reality TV follow you
with these responses.
And you in different professions, my gosh.
I watch all these videos on YouTube
of these police stopping shop lifters
and stopping drunks and, you know, all this.
I don't know how they do it.
I don't have the patience.

Do you remember in Avril Lavigne was here?
And.
I know I will tell you a story about Avril Lavigne being there.
Please.
So we were broadcasting from, we actually broadcast our show
from a storefront.
It was the one near Boston story.
It was just the left of it.
It was a big brick storefront.
And we had our radio station set up there every afternoon.
So Avril Lavigne was coming in.
And they wanted to come through there.
And she said, I think she did like a 20-minute concert in the mall or something like that.
And she was coming through.
And her manager said, well, you can talk to her on the radio.
So she came over to me and said, what do you want?
And I said, so you're on your tour bus going through, yeah.
She didn't want to be there.
And it was like a very uncomfortable interview.
And I made it real short.
I said, well, they loved you here at the Regency Mall today.
Yeah.
And so I followed it out to the tour bus.
And this, you know, gets some reaction from fans.
And she just jumped on the bus and left them.
Wow.
Yeah, you shouldn't do that to your fans.
And you shouldn't do that to a radio station.
No.
Because people can hear your attitude.
You know what?
But she fooled a lot of the fans during her performance because they all enjoyed it.
So at least from online.
I always had to get down to that mall.
Yeah.
And they told that when they tore down Northridge Mall,
the scene torn down or supposed to have been torn down,
the company that owns it is, you know, delayed, delayed, delay.
And the judge there was getting real angry at them.
He said, you know, get rid of this thing already.
If you're not going to use it, which they can't use it.
It's all dilapidated.
But there are malls doing well.
Southridge Mall is still doing well.
It is.
Well, we get there's so much online.
I know.
I know.
And you know, I get the Walmart some, you know, stuff like that.
I like malls.
I remember the first mall on Long Island.
It was Walt Whitman Mall back in the late 60s, early 70s.
And I went there and we couldn't believe it.
It's an enclosed shopping center.
You can take your coat off and go shopping.
You don't see that anywhere.
Did you have you been down to the one in Milwaukee where they transform the mall?
The Grand Avenue.
Yeah, we're now.
I was there when it was an empty shell.
And then back in the 90s, our radio station was about three blocks away on the Wisconsin Avenue.
And we went there for the grand opening.
And it was beautiful.
It was packed to the rafters.
And now it's, it was nothing.
And did you say they're bringing it back again?
Well, so I think it's called third ward.
And there has this concept.
It makes you feel like you're at a beer garden, if you will, but it's family oriented.
This is the, the goal of the Grand Avenue Mall.
From, you know, you're, I don't know if that was the original name.
If that was, I remember being to the Grand Avenue, but I'm geographically challenged.
But, um, so, but they have like this center tavern, if you will,
but surrounding it is all these different food options.
And then, uh, one of the cornhole and another game, but families everywhere.
And it's actually quite the atmosphere.
You see dates happening.
You see friends gathering together.
And then you see children and families.
It's, you know, kind of like what you would see at an outside beer garden, but inside.
But then there's apartments indoors.
So you go and we're, it would have been the front window to look into a storefront.
It's people's front porches, if you will.
And so you get to see into it.
You see cats out there.
It's made very inside.
It's, it's very interesting.
So it's this transformation.
And I know when I went on a county or city event, they're transforming the mall in Green Bay as well.
And just redoing the spaces like what were you see us doing at Regency Mall.
So some of the mall pieces are there.
Uh, planet fitness is still going strong with their remodel.
I got to drive by there.
You do.
Because to see Boston store down.
Oh, no, that was my mother's favorite place to show up.
She loves Boston store, but Woodman's is going to bring a new edition.

That's why I was going on the news here.
Stuart J. Wattles watching the news for us this morning.
The recall didn't work in Racine County voters in the Raymond School District chose to retain the incumbent.
You know, wise who secured 54% of the vote.
And a special recall election yesterday.
And a separate raise for an open seat.
Mike Powers.
I think this is his name.
Do you know how to say it?
You got it.
Mike Powers.
Uh, he emerged victorious with 54% of the vote.
That seat was open because of another person.
Uh, recall to opted not to run again.
The recall and special election were prompted after the school board in Raymond called for the resignation of the high school principal.
And some parents accused the board of advancing a political agenda.
Risky driving won't be tolerated in Racine County today.
Well, the state patrol is working with sheriff's office and local police.
But they're calling a special traffic enforcement all day long.
They're using recent crash data to set up in certain places where the danger has been higher.
Almost all county law enforcement is in part involved in the effort, including the city of Racine,
Waterford, Burlington and the town of Norway.
Dirt was turned in Kenosha yesterday.
On the 23 million dollar project on the former Chrysler site.
The county executive and other dignitaries were in the groundbreaking of the Kenosha Innovation Center.
The 64,000 square foot building is within what's called the Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood.
There's a school already under construction there.
The new building will offer a site, the highlight programs supporting business startups,
as well as offer office space and meeting spaces.
And the hobnob is getting a new owner.
That's one of the few separate clubs around here.
The historic separate club on Sheridan Road in the Kenosha County Racine Line
is being sold to the same owner that runs, I don't know how to pronounce this.
La Fogata?
La Fogata.
Oh, you know this story.
What you should do with the news.
La Fogata and El Camino Kitchen.
That owner was before the summer's village board this week and revealed plans on making upgrades
and possibly adding a banquet hall or hotel on the adjacent property.
The hobnob first opened in 1954 and was regarded one of the best separate clubs in the state.
Those are the story story.

You know, I had the author of the book Wisconsin separate clubs in here, Ron Peola.
And he was in here talking about all the separate clubs around the state.
I've been to a few of them.
And it's hard to describe what the difference between a separate club and a restaurant is.
It's a different atmosphere.
And plus they bring out the relish trays and all that kind of stuff at the beginning.
And it's a different atmosphere than a restaurant or a diner.
It's called the separate club.
So I went to one in Hazel Green and it was good.
I went to the hobnob obviously.
And we went to one in Greendale.
And there's two of them there.
And I can't remember the one I went to.
Ever into a separate club?
I have not been to a separate club.
So I'm hanging on to your story.
Yeah, it's a different atmosphere.
And the hobnob is one of the most famous ones around the state.
But they're all over.
They're a couple in Milwaukee too.
Families run these restaurants and we're hot separate clubs.
I should call them.
So maybe I'll get an invite soon.
Yeah, maybe you have your reelection campaign there.

You're going to see the spectacle of an all-time circus street parade.
And setting the mood with the music for today's parade is Jim Roweback and the great circus parade band.
Adjunct from an era gone by in kaleidoscopic color.
The great circus parade winds its way through the thoroughfares of downtown Milwaukee.
Well, that brings back memories.
Dale Palachek is with us.
And good morning, Dale. How are you this morning?
Great done. How are you today?
Good. That was Ernest Borgneye, the Academy Award-winning actor.
And that was him introducing the great circus parade.
Do you know what year that was?
It was in the late 70s.
He was the grand clown. That was his title.
In 1985, he was named the official grand clown.
A lot was a class clown in school, but he was the grand clown. That's good.
Now, Dale, let me back up a little bit here. Dale Palachek, you are the co-producer of the great circus parade special on Channel 10.
Now, when is that coming on?
First night at 7 o'clock.
Thursday at 7. That's on Channel 10.
And over the air, Channel 10 for people who have cable.
I don't know what your cable channel is in her seat.
Well, mine is Channel 10.

All right. So we got the great circus parade.
I remember the great circus parade.
I remember Ernest Borgnein in the great circus parade.
How did they get Ernest Borgnein?
An Academy of War and Winning Actor who's been in the million movies.
Very famous guy had one of the biggest TV shows in the 60s.
McCale's Navy.
How did they get him to be the head of the police?
Well, I think we have a sound bite where Ernest Borgnein tells us that.
So if you got that, what's here for Ernest himself?
All right. Here we go.
I was on Johnny Carson program one day, pushing one of my films, you know.
And he said, Ernie says you seem to have done everything in show business.
What's left?
And I said, well, I had lots of things.
He said making conversation.
Oh, yeah.
Like what?
Pending me down.
I said, well, I've never been a clown.
Boy, he says you're going to get letters.
Sure enough, Ben Borgnein, when we'll see later,
called me the next day says you want to be a clown.
Could we got the greatest circus parade in the world?
Well, you'll see for yourselves.
It is the greatest circus parade in the world.
And that's how you got him, huh?
Yeah. Well, Ben Borgnein did it.
Yeah.
And, you know, if you watch, when you watch especially,
you see we had other celebrities, including Captain King Rube,
for many years as part of the great circus parade.
Bob Keisha.
Now, when I lived on Long Island, he only lived 10 minutes for me.
He lived in Babylon, Long Island.
And, yes, we were close by.
I didn't know him.
I never met the man.
But, you know, we breathed the same air.
It was only 10 minutes away.
So, maybe in the grocery store ever or anything like that?
No, never met him in the grocery store.
I was on the set of Captain King Rube when I was a teenager.
My uncle was the property master for CBS in New York.
And, it was on the set.
And, it was very disillusioning to go on the set of a children's show.
Because, it's not what you remember.
And, it was very sad.
But, let's talk about the great circus parade.
Now, they got the wagons from Barraboo.
These are original wagons, right?
Yes.
So, Charlie, our...
Chappy Fox, excuse me.
Chappy Fox was the curator of the museum in Barraboo.
And, he was collecting wagons.
And, he got some from the Walt Disney company
part of the original bunch that were in the first parade.
He got eight of them.
And, he was collecting wagons all around the United States.
Many of them were in really bad repair.
And, he wanted to have a parade in Barraboo,
where people could be honest and see these wagons on the streets
and come to the museum.
And, so, Chappy reached out to Ben Barkin to try to raise funds
to bring the museum or the parade to Barraboo.
And, I think we can't sound right about that, too.
Oh, this is Ben Barkin.
Ben Barkin?
Yeah, okay.
Got it right.
Telling the story of Ben Barkin.
Who's truly my inspiration.
He came to me in 1962.
And, he said, Ben,
if we could, he was the director of the museum in Barraboo,
because the five wringling brothers were raised there and so forth.
He said, Ben, if we could do a parade, a circus parade,
it was really advertising for circuses coming to a town.
If we could do a parade the way they did it at the turn of the century,
all the ways through 1930, he said, we draw thousands and thousands of people to Barraboo.
And, I was intrigued.
He showed me some pictures of 1905, 1910.
And, it really looked good to me.
And, I said, Chappy, I like the idea.
But, if it's true that you draw thousands and thousands of people in Barraboo,
you won't have enough bathroom restrooms to accommodate the crowd.
Ever the pragmatist, you know?
But, I said, I like the idea.
Let's go over and see Bobby Lahn.
Bobby Lahn was chairman of Schlitz.
And, he loved animals.
And, he was a polo player.
Loved horses and so forth.
And, in 20 minutes, when Chappy presented that to him,
he's, Bob turned to me and said, Ben, how do you feel?
I said, as long as we do the Milwaukee, it'll be terrific.
And, Bob said to me, Ben, let's go forward.
You know, I met Ben Barkin once, and he's a real promoter.
I mean, this guy can, he can sell you anything.
Yeah, he's very much nationally known as, like, one of the best PR men in the country.
And, he was a great flamp for Antropist, I can't say the word.
And, in World War II, he was a big razor of bonds for the war effort.
And, he helped launch many, many businesses in Milwaukee.
And, he's buddy, that's known for the circus parade.
Yeah, and now, when was the last circus parade?
Because, not done any more, but when was the last one?
Well, one on the streets of Milwaukee was 2009.
Correct.
Okay.
There's still a small parade held every year in Barraville, but it's not a mistake,
it's not a mistake, grand spectacular scale that it was in Milwaukee.
You know, when I was in Florida, visiting my mother-in-law, she lives near Sarasota.
And, that's the home, the winter home of the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus.
And, there's a whole museum set up there.
We spent four hours there.
And, when we were going in, there was a guy in the parking lot.
He said to me, how long do you plan to stay?
I said, how about an hour or so?
He said, no.
You'll be here all day long.
We had to leave after four hours, but we could have spent a lot more time there.
I mean, that's something.
Now, the problem is the circus, there is no more Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus.
They're gone.
And, so, this is what's left of it.
What's up in Barraville?
That's right.
That's it, right?
Well, even Barraville and no one in Florida, you know, are the two that I know about.
Yeah, but there's museums.
Yeah, there's no more because of the animals.
You know, people didn't like the way the animals were being treated.
And, here's an American worldwide because there are European circuses as well.
And, there is no more circus.
I guess they can still bring circuses back without the animals.
I think circuses still exist because they're still like trepis shows and clowns and things like that.
They're just animals that are not used in the circuses anymore.
So, tell us about the special.
Okay.
Well, we look at the history of the Great Circus Parade from 1963 to 2009.
And, when we put the special together in the Milwaukee PBS archives, we found 12 parades.
So, we went through the 12 parades and mined out the really nice nuggets of things like some of the sound bites that we heard today.
And, we started to develop the story of Chappy Fox and Ben Barkin through the time period.
And, we learned about how Ernest Borgnein came into the parade.
We learned about the involvement of Captain King Rue.
But, we also looked at what it took to put a parade together.
So, we looked at the Dick Sparrow, who had the 40 horse hitch, which was this wagon pulled by 40 horses, which was spectacular.
We looked at the history of circuses and circus parades from the 1800s.
And, of course, we show several of the parades.
We show segments of them.
We wouldn't have time to show 12 parades.
But, 1963 parade, we only found that this year.
So, it hasn't been, excuse me, 1964 parade.
So, that hasn't been seen in 60 years.
So, you'll see some of the 64 parades.
And, you can see that the changes in the city of Milwaukee.
And, in 2000 parade was the first live high-definition event on the PBS network.
So, we spent some time on the 2000 parade.
And, we spent a lot of time on that 2009 parade, which was a little ass parade.
And, it's just spectacular.
And, it's just gorgeous wagons.
It's how customers are made.
It's a lot of behind the scenes.
And, it looks like how this parade, by the people who organized it, was really a labor of love to Milwaukee and Southeast Wisconsin.
You know, I just got texted by a friend of mine.
And, he says, the Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus is back.
And, I looked it up, and sure enough, you can buy tickets to the Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus.
They're appearing all over.
And, I guess, without the animals, I would imagine they don't have the animals there anymore.
But, they're back.
And, I didn't know they were back, because I remember when they had the big announcement that they were ending.
And, it was sad.
Because, I saw them.
We saw them in Madison Square Garden when I was a kid.
And, then I saw another smaller circus out on Long Island.
But, the only memory I have is the guy being shot out of the cannon.
I thought that was, I thought, how's he going to survive?
How's he going to survive?
And, you know, now I know there's a plunger pushing up.
But, but, you're a little kid.
You think they're going to blow this guy out with dynamite out of the cannon?
Well, I always had a great time at the circuses when I was a kid.
I got to be, when the Ringling Brothers Barnum Bailey Circus was in town in Milwaukee.
I was working for this radio station in town, W-OK-Y.
And, they said, do you want to be one of the honorary ringmasters?
And, they said, I don't know.
I mean, that's really, so they, I said, OK.
And, I went out there and they gave him the money.
And, I got to introduce somebody.
And, I did the whole thing.
Well, but welcome to the radio station, the whole thing out there.
Don't you have such a colorful pants?
Yeah, it was kind of fun.
And, I said, I'm not going to be able to do this.
So, where are the wagons?
They're still up in Barrabo, right?
The original circus wagons?
Yes, they're still up in Barrabo.
They're in Barrabo.
Yeah, probably the phone line.
Let me flip this off here.
OK, yeah, the silver in Barrabo.
But, then, they just on display.
They don't really use them in a parade anymore.
No, once a year, they take some of them out on the street.
Do they really?
Yeah.
It's a small parade in their downtown.
Well, that's got a neat.
Yeah, I didn't know they still do that because I was up in Barrabo.
They have a movie theater for the wringling, it was called the wringling theater.
Yeah.
All that.
It's one of the most gorgeous theaters in the United States.
Yeah, and we were there.
We took a tour of the theater.
It's an old movie palace.
And when I was there, that was showing psycho that night.
This was a couple of years ago.
They don't show it by film anymore.
It's all digital.
And they said they show old Alfred Hitchcock movies and everything.
So it's kind of interesting.
But I didn't know there was a wringling theater up in Barrabo.
But I guess, you know, the wringling brothers own the town.
Yeah.
OK, so let's go over this real quickly here in the last minute or so.
So the special, the special for the, what's it called actually?
The name of the great circus parade?
Remembering the great circus parade.
Remembering the great circus parade.
Had any of any other big stars or celebrities or the Milwaukeeans
would know about in the special?
Yeah.
The Ernest Borgnein and, and Bob Keeschen and Captain King Caruso.
Those are the two that are really in there.
And Ben, Ben Barkin.
And Ben Barkin and Chaffee Fox and just people who worked on the parade.
The people who were the craftsmen.
You'll see people who are repairing wagons and restoring them.
You'll see the ladies that sewed the costumes.
Another thing that's in the special is the circus train.
Oh, yeah.
Now that Ernest is spectacular.
And people would just line the rails and it would come through the small towns
and stop and you'd have big cheering crowds.
And so you'll see the steam locomotive pulling the circus train.
OK.
And you see lots of parades.
You'll see stilt walkers.
You'll see clowns.
You'll see, you know, the patching tree of a big grate.
Well, that's great.
And that's on Channel 10.
It's Thursday night, you said?
Yes, Thursday, 7 o'clock.
It's Thursday, 7 o'clock at the whole family around the TV
to watch the great circus parade on Channel 10.

in downtown Racine.

from Star Wars coming through on the Christmas parade.
They were on the 4th of July,
they're everywhere.
And they have these authentic outfits.

And there's supposed to be bringing
positivity and togetherness through 262.

Have you been a fan of Star Wars?
No.
Okay.
I never was either.
And radio station I worked at.
We were- we were going to run the premiere
at the Big Cinema Theatre on Long Island.
They was going to play Star Wars
of the Twin South Cinema.
And we had special tickets printed up.
And I said, we're not going to get people
to go to this thing.
It's some stupid science fiction movie.
Who wants to go see this?
And so the program director told me,
he said, well, we're going to push it.
And we're going to get that theater crowded.
That this theater had like 2,000 seats.
It was one of those big cinema with the curved screen.
And it was packed that night.
And there were so many people there.
I couldn't believe that they wanted to see this picture.
And I waited in the lobby because I said,
I can't watch this.
And it's a good thing.
I'm not the guy who makes decisions in Hollywood.
And what movie is to put out?
Because obviously Star Wars is one of the greatest
phenomenon in the history of the world.
And I said, don't you want to see this picture?
Look how wrong you were.
I've been wrong a lot in life.
Trust me.
I'm trying to find here.
We had another parody of Star Wars.
Boy, there.
There have been so many parodies of Star Wars.
I'm looking for the one with Weird Al Yankovic.
And I couldn't find it.
He did a great one.
And it was one of the best lines in there is when there seems
to get the new kids off my block.
We didn't start the fire.
I love that.
Anyway, they had a movie based on Weird Al Yankovic.
Recently called Weird Al.
It was on one of the streaming services.
I didn't see it.
But the guy's had a crazy pass.
But he's very talented.
He writes all these parodies and very talented guy.
Okay, so let's quick review here.
We got a minute or so to review.
Things going on.
People just tuning in the county and also in the city.
Because you do both.
Yeah.
There's one thing I wanted to bring up too.
We got the cold weather today.
But let's bring our minds back into the nice warmer weather.
It will look for final approval at the next city council meeting.
But there is a summer kickoff carnival happening down by the oasis
by North Beach.
So Memorial Day carnival.
They did it.
They had it in the year past.
But hoping to bring a little more attention down there.
So May 25th, 26th, 27th from 10 to 8.
And the parking lot will be full of rides and food vendors.
And just trying to bring some excitement for the summer
to begin down by the oasis.
And the, the, the momei.
No momei.
No momei.
Now we're assuming the ice and snow will be off the lawn by that time.
Because there's no guarantee in this.
I didn't see this coming with 66 degrees yesterday.
So we're hoping that the snow will be gone.
The cold weather will be gone.
This is crazy weather.
I don't know how people survive in this weather.
Because then you go out without your jacket on.
You put all your snow stuff away.
And then you wake up this morning and you're scraping ice off your car.
Yeah.
Austin Wisconsin.
I think we, we keep our snow shoes out in our sandals right next to each other.
And my daughter lives in Florida and she's constantly mocking the winter weather up here.
Because you know, she lived up your older life.
And now the last two years she lived in Florida.
And I, she says, well, how do you like your cold weather in your snow and ice today?
I said at least when we have bad weather,
it doesn't blow the roof off my house.
You know, like you down there.
She goes, well, we don't have that many hurricanes.
All you need is one to destroy your house.
It only takes one.
That's right.
But there's a lot of weird weather going across this country right now anyway.
There really is.
I was talking to one of my, one of my children and another state.
And they already were looking at the snow storms that before they were at 70 degree weather.
And so now it did hit us.
Yeah.
Because a few days behind before we leave today,
let's just remind everybody this weekend is the,
is the youth expo sports expo at the YMCA.
Okay.
And we're talking.
And that's at the Y.
That is at the Y out by the Mount Pleasant campus.
Okay.
That's the one right and back to the cardio worship.
Right.
Yeah.
Right by,
I can't even remember the cardio.
I got my car there too.
It's like a 85-01 campus track.
Yeah.
YMCA out there.
So it's, it's a great event.
