The Don Rosen Show · Wed Feb 28, 2024

Hey, FC launched its new chicken pizza hybrid called Cheetah.

Here's a photo of it. Look at this. Yeah.

I don't know about you, but if there's one word I don't want to see in a menu, it's hybrid.

Not to be outdone, Domino has just introduced boneless pizza.

Get his world records recently confirmed that the world's oldest dog title has been revoked

from a dog in Portugal after an investigation discovered that there was no conclusive evidence

of the animal's age. The good news for the dog is he has no idea that any of this even happened.

I've lived too tall. I could've used a few pounds.

Tight pants points all in and out.

She was a blackhead beauty with big dog eyes and points all her own sudden wear pie.

Well fun and high.

I bet the cold feels better when it's got heavy.

Out in the back seat of my six to share.

Working on mysteries without any clues.

Working on a night mood.

Trying to make some front page driving news.

Working on a night mood.

Yeah, it's 607 at WRGN Radio.

Got my voice back. I found it last night.

Yeah, got it back finally.

That was nice.

Wake up in the morning and not, you know, sound like some space creature.

So anyway, it's good to be back.

What a difference.

Oh, wow.

66 degrees yesterday afternoon.

And this morning, I'm scraping snow and ice off windshields.

The garbage pales and the recycling bins were tipped over from the wide winds.

Yes, this morning.

Wow.

What a difference 24 hours makes.

I would never have thought that it would have been this much of a change.

Thunderstorms last night snow.

It was like the apocalypse.

It was like end of days.

So anyway, I'm driving in this morning.

And you know how they have those speed things on the road.

They can tell you how fast you're going when you go by them.

So mine always says like 28, 29, 30 because that's what the speed limit is on 16th straight.

Guys blowing by me and he just happened to be near one of those things 43 miles an hour.

And he didn't have his back windshield cleared.

And he's going all over the road back and forth, lane to lane, no signals and no vision out of the back window.

If I was his insurance company, I'd cancel his policy today.

I mean, I wouldn't want to have that guy driving on the road with, you know, me ensuring him.

So anyway, yeah, we had a big change in the forecast, big weather change.

Wow, I didn't expect to be scraping stuff off my windshield this morning.

But we are, but it's going to be a sunny day today, gradual clearing.

Eyes are at 29 degrees.

A clear sky tonight lows around 14 and then we're back into the 40s tomorrow with sunshine.

Right now it is cloudy. It's very windy 26 degrees.

You know, the other day they put a lot of salt on our sidewalk out here in front of the radio station.

And we were kind of mocking them saying, mine is 60 degrees outside.

What do they put on that salt out?

Well, it's a good thing they did because this morning it was slippery.

So just be careful driving this morning, right?

Clean your windshields.

You know, back front sides, your review mirrors, you know, your side view mirrors rather.

Clean them off this morning.

All right.

I got a full schedule of stuff going on here this morning.

A lot of fun too.

We got Melissa Caprillian's coming in studio.

She's our older person in town and also a county board supervisor.

We'll get the latest from her.

And Dale Palachek is going to be in from Channel 10 in Milwaukee.

They're doing a special on the great circus parade.

And we'll have some sound clips from the special.

So that should be good.

That's a 730.

So a lot of stuff going on this morning.

We have tickets to give away to the state fair to casting crowns coming to the main stage.

On Monday, August 5th, you can win tickets here this morning.

No, still we have something else we're going to give away.

Oh, that's not today though.

We're giving away tickets to now and then at the Racine Theater Guild.

That'll be later on probably later on this week or next week.

We have tickets to give away.

So a lot of stuff going on.

Let's get right to it here.

You may have heard about this in the news.

It was on ABC World News last night.

The CEO of Wendy's, the hamburger chain, you know, the fast food place Wendy's says they're

planning to boost profits by introducing digital menu boards that will have the capacity

to display pricing that fluctuates throughout the day.

That means a Baconator may cost more during lunchtime busy hours.

Unless it's a two o'clock in the afternoon.

The worst part is you don't know what the price is going to be until you pull up.

It could be annoying.

Even if the price changes aren't that drastic.

So throughout the day, the price of a hamburger is going to change.

I don't think people are going to like that.

I can see people complaining right away.

Because what if you pull in and I'm going to make up a price?

I have no idea what the prices are.

You pull in and the burger you're going to get is $3.

But it jumps to four when you order it and then right if you go back to $3.

I'd be ticked off. I wouldn't go back.

That this does not sound like a good plan.

Now on the report on ABC last night, they said that what they're going to do is

if the other fast food change you're watching to see if this works,

and then they will do it if it works.

It's not going to work.

I don't think people I wouldn't put up with that.

Why should I pay one dollar more or whatever the price change will be?

Well, what would I pay a dollar more?

And the guy in back of me at the drive through pays a dollar less for the same exact burger.

Wow, I can't see that working out.

I can't see people being happy with that.

Speaking about money, a 93 year old former professor just the other day donated

one billion with a B dollars to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

Her late husband worked with Warren Buffett and was an early investor in Berkshire Hathaway.

That's where he made his money.

All the funds will go to cover tuition.

Now it's usually $59,000 a year, the tuition, which is a lot of money.

But all students who get in will go for free until the billion dollars wears out.

And that will be a long time.

That includes current students.

They're getting a refund on the tuition.

Isn't that a nice gift?

I hear about all the rotten things people are doing in this world.

That is not rotten.

That is very, very nice.

Very nice.

Somebody did something like that.

Are you loyal to your company?

Well, let's find out.

A third of workers say they'd leave their current job if someone else was willing to pay them the same amount they're making now.

I mean, they're not happy at their current job.

Now, if I gave you a 5% pay bump, how many people want to lose their job?

Well, now it goes up to half.

Just for 5% more.

I guess the lesson learned, treat your employees nice.

Make them happy that they don't want to leave.

And when a time comes time for a raise, maybe give them a 5% pay bump if you can afford it.

I put this guy in the running for the worst wedding guest ever and he gets bonus points for being in the wedding.

A groomsman at a Florida wedding got arrested after he was attacked.

He attacked the bride who happens to be his sister.

Then he was being escorted out of the reception and he struck his brother-in-law, a bride's maid, a niece and he struck his own mother.

He is the worst wedding guest ever.

And he was in the bridal party too.

All right.

Something wrong with his poll.

A poll of the funniest TV shows of all time is topped by the office, which is a good show followed by it's always sunny in Philadelphia and loony tunes.

I took a look at the list of the top 25.

And they're all TV shows for the most part from the 1980s and above.

Most of them are from the 90s and above.

But for the most part, the 80s and above.

So there's nothing from the 70s like Dick Van Dyke, the Mary Tathamore show, Bob Newhart, Sanford and Son.

None of those shows are in there.

My guess is the people who did the poll were probably in their 40s or 30s.

I mean, these are not the funniest shows of all time.

These are the funniest shows of people in their 40s.

One of four people admit to keeping secrets from a live-in partner.

Almost half of those people have something they say they will never reveal to their partner.

The only thing I would think that you would never want to reveal is that you murdered somebody.

Other than that, how bad can it be?

I mean, think about it.

I mean, how bad could it be that you would never ever reveal something to your live-in partner?

Or maybe we're the money's hidden.

Maybe that.

That could be one, too.

Except for murder.

I don't know.

All right, showbiz news.

This is what people have been waiting for.

This is it.

Ryan Gosling will perform.

I am just Ken from the movie Barbie at the Academy Awards on March 10th.

It's nominated for Best Original Song and Ryan is nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Everybody was saying, is he going to perform that song?

I'm just Ken.

And now we find out he is.

I wonder if he's going to do the blonde wig and everything.

And Kevin Costner released a trailer for his brand new movie called Her Risen at American Saga.

I think it's a Western because when I was getting this prep, I noticed that they had a picture.

And he was wearing a cowboy hat.

That's probably a dead giveaway, isn't it?

Okay.

Hey, WRJN is pleased to welcome CCM Powerhouse.

And that stands for Contemporary Christian Music Powerhouse.

Casting crowns to the Wisconsin State Fair.

On the main stage Monday, August 5th.

Join us for an eating filled with powerful and still a soul stirring artistry who will lift your spirit.

Also joining casting crowns on the main stage at night will be fellow CCM star, Torrin Wells.

Tickets are on sale now at WI State Fair dot com.

But right now I'm going to give you a chance to win a fair of tickets to go see casting crowns live on stage at the Wisconsin State Fair.

Monday, August 5th, where I can almost guarantee you there'll be no snow and ice.

I guarantee you nice night.

Temperatures at least.

That's what I guarantee.

All right, here's the phone number to call.

2 6 2 6 3 4 9 7 5 6 2 6 2 6 3 4 9 7 5 6 2 6 2 6 3 4 9 7 5 6 2 6 2 6 3 4 WRJN.

Nice. It just spells that out.

Do they have letters on the phone?

I have to check that on my phone because we know these have letters on the rotary phones.

I don't know if they still have the push buttons too.

All right, I'll open the phone lines now.

All right, they're open.

Okay, now you can call it.

2 6 2 6 3 4 9 7 5 6.

Give a call. Give a try.

You know, see if we get through.

There should be no problem.

2 6 2 6 3 4 9 7 5 6 to go to the Wisconsin State Fair to go see casting crowns on the main stage.

Let me see his show at the main stage.

I hosted a Bobby Vitten concert once on the main stage of state fair.

Yeah, that's pretty neat.

I think it's Bobby Vitten.

Yeah, that's pretty neat.

All right, so give a call right now.

Give your pair of tickets.

All right.

It's 618 at WRJN Radio.

Home town radio refreshed as civic media station.

Graduate clearing.

Eisner 29 today.

A clear sky.

Loads 14 tonight.

Sunny with a high of 42 tomorrow.

Right now.

It's going to be in 26 degrees in regime.

It's time to leave your home and your loved one.

It's the hardest thing a boy can ever do.

And you pray that you find someone warm and sweet and kind.

But you're not sure what's waiting there for you.

The blue skies you ever seen are in Seattle.

And the hills of the green screen in Seattle.

Like a beautiful child.

Growing up, free and wild.

Full of hopes and full of fears.

Full of laughter, full of tears.

Full of dreams to last the years.

And see, oh, in Seattle.

When you find your own true love.

You will know it.

By a smile, by the look in her heart.

Seven fine trees in the air.

Never knew if they so fed.

It makes you feel so proud that you could cry.

That's very come on.

Doing a theme song from the TV show.

Here comes the brides.

I never saw the show.

I know it was a big popular show at the time.

It was Bobby Sherman.

It was a big pop star at the time.

And he was in that show.

That was a theme song from here.

Seattle.

It's 622 at WRJ and radio.

A clear sky tonight.

Lowes around 14.

Sunny with a high near 42.

But right now it's cloudy.

26 degrees yesterday.

We were talking 66 degrees.

It's a 40 degree swing from what it was yesterday.

I was out there without a jacket on yesterday.

Good thing to do when you're just getting over it cold.

You know, go out without a jacket on.

I just can't say something.

I forgot what it was.

All right.

Well, let's move on.

cigarettes in Canada.

When I'll come with warnings.

Not on the pack.

But on each individually wrapped cigarette.

The messages will stay stuff like poison in every puff.

And cigarettes cause cancer.

Might make an impression.

My guess it won't.

People who want to smoke.

Kind of know the bad things about cigarettes.

They don't need, you know, they printed on the cigarette.

I mean, how many years has that warning bit on the pack of cigarettes?

I don't think it has an effect.

If you're looking for a last-minute travel destination that's affordable.

Have you considered flying down to Columbia?

The country.

Columbia.

It's the number one place on the list of cheap summer destinations this year.

The average trip is only $3,300.

Might be a reason for that.

The US government has a level three travel advisory for Columbia warning.

The violent crime, such as homicide assault and on robbery is widespread.

So it was kidnapping.

Might be an interesting vacation to take him.

All right.

What else?

He would never go to those places.

There are some cities in this country I wouldn't go to.

I hear eight things to make sure you include on your resume if you're applying for a job.

Okay.

Now I say that tongue at cheek.

If you want to stay unemployed, put these on your resume.

Weird hobbies.

Private things about yourself.

Big vocabulary words.

Unprofessional email addresses.

Identifying information.

They mean like moles and like scars on your body, stuff like that.

Flourishes and decorations.

Wild career objectives.

And irrelevant job experience.

You know, if you're in your 30s, even if you're in your 20s, I don't think like, you know,

I delivered the newspapers.

You know, while my bicycle, I don't think you need to put that down.

That's not important.

Odd but true.

Odd but true.

France didn't stop executing people with the guillotine until September of 1977.

To put it another way, they were still executing people by guillotine when the original Star Wars

movie came out.

Now, the reason they stopped doing it is somebody took a movie like an eight millimeter movie out

the window when they were executing somebody.

What they did was they brought them outside the prison.

They put them, you know, their head in the guillotine, chop their head off and you see it.

It just goes right into a box and the body goes limp and they just roll the body into a casket.

And somebody got that out to the news media.

And there was such a public outcry against the guillotine that on that date, September of 1977,

that was the last one.

People were shocked at what they saw.

Now, I saw it.

It was online one day and I stumbled upon it.

I was looking up something with the guillotine and the video popped up.

I never dreamed that they would actually show something like that, but they did.

All right.

What would you want science to invent?

If you said, I need this invented now.

Survey asked people and they said, a pill that cures all illnesses.

That was followed by wrinkle free clothing.

Oh, that's a real close one.

Let's see, I can't decide.

I want a pill to cure all the illnesses of the world, a wrinkle free clothing.

I'm going to go with that pill.

Self-driving cars.

We already have that robot maids.

I think we have that too.

The Rumba that little vacuum thing at a time machine.

I don't know.

Do you really want a time machine?

You want to play, you know, you don't want to go into the future.

I don't think people want to know what's coming and coming at them in the future.

The past, I already know what happened.

You can't change the past.

So I think the pill is good.

But that wrinkle free clothing sounds pretty good too.

Let's see, wrinkle free clothing.

I'm not sure.

One of those two.

All right.

And this is interesting.

A study found for every seven pounds you lose on a diet.

You also lose one friend.

The main reason is jealousy and drifting apart because the lifestyle changes you're made

to be healthier.

That's interesting.

So for every seven pounds you lose, you lose a friend.

When I lost 70 pounds over the years ago, that means I lost 10 friends.

I don't think I had 10 friends to lose.

And my lifestyles didn't change that much.

Just basically eating and doing a little bit of exercise, but other than that, I didn't

change that much.

All right.

Let's move on.

Because everyone constantly offended because we can't take a joke anymore.

You know, Dennis Miller once had a routine.

He said, we live in America, the touchy, everybody's so touchy in this country, 35% of Americans

say, yes, we can't take a joke anymore.

22% said the real problem is people making too many off-color jokes these days and 31%

said both are true.

Yeah.

I don't think we, we have, we lost our sense of humor in this country.

You can't make a joke about anything without offending somebody, you know, especially jokes

about disjockeys.

I think those are way out of line now, that's way out of line, you don't joke about

disjockeys.

All right.

Coming up, we've got some local news in just a few moments.

We have Melissa Caprileon coming in, our all to person, also the, also on the county

supervisor as well.

And at 730, we'll talk about the great circus parade with Channel 10, we'll be here,

people from Channel 10.

So that should be good.

That's always great ahead to WRJN.

We're at 1400 AM, 99.9 FM, and 98.1 FM in Kenosha, and over yet, we have more tickets

to give away to casting crowns at the Wisconsin State Fair.

That's coming up as well.

It's 629 at WRJN.

People always know someone who looks like me.

Wherever I go, once a week, someone will come at me and go, eh, I know someone that looks

like you.

I never know what to say.

Well, tell them hi.

Courage them to wear sunscreen.

And this person who looks like me, never doing something impressive with their life.

Yeah, he mows our lawn.

We don't even pay him.

He just does it.

That sounds like my geneful.

Actually on social media, I'll be sent photos of babies who supposedly look like me.

This baby looks like Jim Gaffigan.

People think it's hysterical that I look like a pale, pudgy bald infant who poops in a

diaper.

Sometimes people get too cute, they're like, hey, why does our baby suddenly look like Jim

Gaffigan?

Like, because I slept with your wife.

It's like a dream come true, so don't you smile for the camera.

I know they're gonna love you, baby, I like your picture, I keep it with your letter.

And when you smile for the camera, I know I love you, baby, I love you, baby, I love you,

I love you, baby, I love you, baby, I love you, baby, I love you, baby, I like your

picture, baby, I love you, baby, I love you, baby, I like your picture, baby, I love you,

you love me, baby, I love you, baby, I love you, baby, I love you.

I'm called Emperor of the North Pole, and they shorted it to Emperor of the North.

We played a real sadistic railroad conductor.

He was trying to keep the hobos, this is around the 1930s during the Depression, trying

to keep them off the train, and he was mean and sadistic, and I mentioned that to him.

He said, yes, I played a real main person, and he said, such a calm, sweet person, and

that's with a son of a good actor, I mean, that's not his personality, that his personality

is real sweet.

And he remembered him from the Cal's Navy, and he wanted a canopy award for the movie

Marty back in the 50s.

Excuse me, and I was watching this DVD of movie trailers from the 1970s, and there was

a real cheap horror movie called Deadly Blessing, and he starred in it.

And I didn't know he made any of those schlocky horror movies back in the 70s, but I guess

he did.

So, Ernest Borgdon.

So, we'll hear from him.

He was our lead clown in the circus parade.

I got to find out why he did that.

We also got a Christmas greeting from him once.

I sent cassettes to like, you know, 50 people, famous people, to do Christmas greetings for

our radio station here.

This is back in the 90s, and he sent one back.

He actually recorded the cassette and mailed it back to me.

So, kudos to Ernest Borgdon.

Here's a fun fact for you.

The three songs played most often in America.

They are Happy Birthday to you, the Star Spangled Banner, and take me out to the ballgame.

Hmm.

Now Happy Birthday to you has got an interesting story.

My wife and I were out in Kentucky.

We went to the ark.

They were going to the replica of Noah's Ark, and we had some time to kill after that.

So we went to the cemetery.

We like going to the cemetery.

There's a lot of history and cemeteries.

We went to the cemetery where Muhammad Ali is buried.

And it's a big sprawling graveside he's got there.

I don't think you wanted that.

I think you wanted something small, but his family didn't adhere to his wishes and gave

Muhammad Ali a great garden with monuments and everything on it.

Also buried there is Colonel Sanders, Colonel Harlan Sanders and his wife.

Obviously, Colonel Sanders from Kentucky Fried Chicken Fingue.

And then there's a small, tiny little stone with the name Paddy.

I think it's Paddy Hill Smith or Paddy Smith Hill.

I forget which one it is, I think it's Paddy Hill Smith.

And there's a little marker there and it just says Paddy Hill Smith with the years that

she lived.

Now, you have to know this, but Paddy Hill Smith and her sister, Mildred, I guess, were

schoolteachers, and they wrote the song Happy Birthday to you.

But every time it's sung or played in a movie, you'll see it on the credits, Paddy and

Mildred.

I think they're made in names where Hill, I'm trying to remember.

Anyway, so you'll see that on the credits every time.

And she's buried there in Louisville at this huge cemetery at 65 acres.

And she's buried there along with Muhammad Ali and Colonel Sanders and a bunch of other

famous people too.

It's a small little marker for a woman whose song is probably sung.

How many times a day in America, every birthday, even in an office party that we sing Happy

Birthday to you.

And she wrote that with her sister and there she is buried in Louisville, Kentucky.

See what you'll learn on this program in the morning.

You wake up in the morning and you're always a little smarter after the radio goes off

and you head off to work this morning.

All right.

I turned down the heat the other day in here.

It was like 75 degrees and then I turned it down to 66 now I'm freezing.

I got a crack it up before Melissa gets in here and you're not going to like that.

Do you collect anything odd?

I mean odd things that, you know, somebody went over your house and found these collectibles

they'd say, hmm, maybe I should leave.

All right.

BuzzFeed put together a list of the most unusual things celebrities have in their homes.

Cheryl Crowe has death masks that were created after the person passed away, including former

presidents William McKinley and William Howard Taft.

She has their death masks, kind of an interesting hobby.

Neil Patrick Harris has a monkey bar that has stuffed monkeys on it like taxidermy monkeys,

real monkeys that were stuffed and Casey Musgraves has a joint from Willie Nelson.

That's a marijuana cigarette in a frame and that's her favorite collectible.

I don't really collect anything, you know, I just look at this way of, you know, when

I go, who's going to want these things?

So I don't collect anything.

What does people do?

All right.

Mortality strangely enough has is a theme of that Barbie movie that came out this past.

Someone's up for a slew of Academy Awards.

So maybe it's not so odd that people are choosing to be buried in pink Barbie themed caskets.

The Oliveira's funeral home in Mexico is offering them as a way for people to quote rest like

Barbie.

They're catching on elsewhere in Mexico too, as well as other Latin American countries

like El Salvador, pink Barbie themed caskets.

The thing that gets me about that is, you know, once you're buried in and no one's going

to see it, I mean, I mean, as you, I guess you'll know it, right, because you pick it out

before you die.

You know, it's also, you can get a kiss casket too.

The group kiss, you know, Gene Simmons and kiss, he, he put out a line of kiss caskets.

I guess you get anything on your casket.

I already have mine picked out.

It's going to be a plain oak casket, just like my parents and my nephew had when he passed

away.

Just plain oak casket.

Once it's in the ground, you know, no one's going to see it.

So that's all picked out ready to go.

All right.

Odd but true.

You know, that little layer of chocolate in between the wafers in a Kit Kat bar, you know

what that is?

It's nothing bad.

So I don't worry.

Nothing bad.

It's actually recycled Kit Kats when Kit Kats don't look quite like they should coming

off the assembly line.

They ground up into a paste and reused in future bars.

That's good to know.

Huh?

When I said that, you got scared there for a second, didn't you?

He's probably just had a Kit Kat bar not too long ago.

A dad in Missouri bought a lottery ticket on his birthday.

He won $50,000.

Then he won another hundred dollars when his son said, I'll bet you a hundred dollars

you're lying.

I wonder if he's making his son pay up the hundred dollars because he wasn't lying.

All right.

What else we got for a year this morning on this?

What is today?

I didn't Wednesday.

Oh, I don't know what day it is.

Hold on.

I'll tell you what day it is.

It's Wednesday.

I get confused because I work, I work a little in advance.

I work with, you know, days of the week that aren't here yet.

The survey of pet owners, 58% of them said they would donate a kidney to their pet.

If they could, you can't.

But if you could, they would 86% worry about their pet's health as much as they would their

own health.

I used to do that too.

I worried more about my pet because they really can't tell you when they don't feel

well.

I mean, you could see it if they lay around and stuff.

And you feel bad because there's sometimes nothing you could do about it.

You just got to let them, you know, and they don't know that.

Yeah.

I feel bad all the time.

My pet didn't feel well.

This school in Vermont called Middlebury College is dealing with over enrollment.

So you have this.

They're offering $10,000 to upper classmen or willing to take some time off.

That's right.

They're paying the upper classmen not to go to school.

Never happened when I went to college.

I have a pay through the nose back in the 70s.

It was $100 and $109 a credit.

$109 a credit to go to Hofstra.

That was a lot of money back then.

All right.

We're a quickly or I can have another pair of tickets to give away to the CCM powerhouse

casting grounds coming to the Wisconsin State Fair main stage.

On Monday, August 5th, we do this weighted advance.

So if you want to go see casting crowns, the contemporary Christian music powerhouse,

casting crowns of the state fair along with their bonus act, which will be fellow CCM

start during Wells.

Give a call right now.

I've got another pair of tickets waiting to give away to the Wisconsin State Fair.

And that'll be in August.

It seems so far away, doesn't it?

That's when you're scraping ice off your car this morning.

Give us a call right now at 262-634-9756.

I'll open the phone lines and now they're open.

262-634-9756.

We have some open lines to give a call, 262-634-9756.

And we will give you a pair of tickets to the Wisconsin State Fair to go see casting

crowns on stage.

And hold on a second.

I have time to take the call.

Yeah, I do.

All right.

What's your first name?

Hello.

Hello.

Hello.

Hello.

I fail.

How are you?

Good.

Good.

You need the pair of tickets.

You want them?

Sure.

All right.

You got them.

You got a friend to take with you?

Oh, yeah.

I got my wife.

No, I said you have a friend today.

Normally kidding.

31 years.

I better not be kidding about that.

Yeah.

There are some things you can't kid about.

And that's probably one of them.

I fail.

Hold on the line.

Okay.

We're going to get to that pair of tickets.

All right.

Don't move.

Stay right where you are.

It's 648 at WRJN Radio.

Coming up at the top of the hour.

Melissa Caprillian is going to be here.

And at 730, we're going to talk about the Great Circus Parade, which is.

It's a TV special on Channel 10.

We'll talk to the producer of the parade.

That's coming up here at WRJN.

Home town radio refreshed.

Graduate clearing today.

Highs near 29.

A clear sky tonight.

Lowes 14.

Sunny with a high near 42 degrees tomorrow right now.

Cloudy and windy and 26.

Hey, just scrape the windows off your car yet, Phil.

Yeah.

You there?

Oh, yeah.

Descrap it yet?

Yep.

You're good.

I know.

I didn't see that coming.

It was 66 degrees yesterday.

Who saw this coming this morning?

Hold on.

I'm sure a lot of people put their snow shovels salt and everything away.

But get them out this morning.

We call it a trap.

I can't walk out.

Because I love you too much, baby.

Why can't you see?

What you do with me?

When you don't believe a word I say.

We can't go on together.

With suspicious eyes.

We can't build our dreams.

With suspicious eyes.

So with an old friend I know.

I'm fine to say hello.

Where I still see the switcher in your eyes.

Here we go again.

Ask you where I'm at.

You can't see the tip of your life.

Yes, I'm fine.

We can't go on together.

With suspicious eyes.

And we can't build our dreams.

Oh, I wish I was mine.

All that I love is mine.

I'd rather live for mine.

There's no better good thing than.

You know I'll never let you move.

Get it, get it.

We call it a trap.

I can't walk out.

That's Elvis, suspicious mind.

I love you too much, baby.

You know I said that movie called Priscilla, which I really thought was terrible.

About Priscilla Presley, it's from her point of view about what a nasty man he was.

But I did like the Tom Hanks version of Elvis with Tom Hanks.

And if you get the guy who played Elvis, he was very good in the movie.

That version I did like.

Other time, Hanks was great as Colonel Tom Parker.

My wife knows a lot more about Elvis than I do.

And the story is Elvis never performed outside North America.

He performed in Canada.

That's the only other foreign country he performed in.

But he didn't perform overseas.

And the reason is Colonel Tom Parker couldn't get a passport.

I forget the reason there's a reason for it.

I forget it was he couldn't get a passport.

So he wouldn't let Elvis out of his sight.

So therefore he never booked anything overseas.

So people in Europe never saw Elvis ever in person.

The only other country beside America was Canada because you didn't need a passport to get in Canada.

And that's why Colonel Tom let him go over there.

Interesting.

See, you learn a lot of stuff here then, don't you?

Two teenage boys had a week long church camp in Oregon were arrested.

We're taking part in the string of thefts, including robbing a convenience clerk at knife point.

The teens were arrested after returning to the camp.

This was a church camp.

I guess camps really changed since I was a kid.

The survey of 2,000 people found that America's favorite TV family is the Adams family.

Huh, followed by the Simpsons.

The Brady Bunch came out number three.

I can't believe the Cleaver family from Leave It To Beaver never made it.

The top, uh, the top favorite TV family.

I was, I lived in a Cleaver family.

We were just a little louder than the Cleavers in our house.

But, uh, yeah, we lived in a, I lived in a Leave It To Beaver time pounds.

Taylor Swift gave out huge bonuses to people on this latest tour.

She's on the errors tour.

She gave out a hundred thousand dollar bonuses to the 50 truck drivers who hauled the equipment.

She knows how to show her gratitude, huh?

That's very nice.

Taylor Swift given out a hundred thousand dollars to the truck drivers.

All right, this is from our files.

I got this from the, um, from the vault here.

A vegan dog company in the UK called Omni was going to pay someone $6,200.

That's 5,000 pounds in British money to eat only dog food for a week.

It's actually not even a full week.

It's only five days.

That's over a thousand dollars a day to eat dog food.

The whole point was to show it's good enough for humans to eat.

I still wouldn't do it.

Well, we fed our dog, Kibble.

But one of my dogs used to have the wet dog food and I would never eat.

I couldn't stand the smell of it.

A guy named Aaron Wellborne was snorkeling at a beach in Alabama looking for sea shells for his wife.

He found someone's teeth instead.

He's part of the set of dentures with the name Randy Williams on them.

He tracked Randy down and then Randy lived here in Wisconsin.

He gave him back to him.

He lost them a week earlier.

They're worth $2,000.

Besides something to do, I didn't know people put their names on their dentures.

I guess so.

Hmm.

How many people lose their dentures like that?

All right.

Remember in the movie Jaws, remember the child actor.

Remember the two kids who were faking a Jaws attack.

Remember everybody was running over there and they were just kidding around.

He says he made me do it.

Remember that kid.

All right.

He's now a police chief on Martha's vineyard where the movie was shot.

His name is Jonathan Seryl.

And he and his brother played the two kids who caused the panic with that fake fin.

And now he's the police chief on the island where they filmed it.

It's kind of interesting.

Wedding for the news.

Stu, Stu, it's wedding a little behind this morning.

You said, and it's got a slight delay.

We'll get you to the local news this morning.

He's just running a tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny bit behind.

All right.

What else do I have for you here?

If you're single, here's a reason not to bring a date to your friend's wedding this summer.

27% of people have ended up dating someone they met at a wedding.

One in five say they went on to marry them.

So maybe you don't want to bring your date to the wedding.

657 at WRJ and radio.

Thanks for joining us here today.

Melissa Capralion is going to be here in just a moment.

She'll be here at 706.

We'll talk about what's going on with county and city government.

Then we have the great circus parade coming up at the bottom of the hour at 730.

We'll talk to I can't get his name here.

His name is Dale Polycheck.

I guess he's the producer of the great circus parade special on Channel 10.

So we'll be talking about that as well.

Graduate clearing today.

Eisner 29 degrees.

And it looks like a clear sky tonight, lows around 14.

Sunday, tomorrow, Eisner 42 right now.

Claudia and Wendy in 26 degrees.

What a difference 24 hours make.

66 degrees yesterday afternoon.

Now you're scraping the ice and the snow of your windshield.

Hopefully you're scraping it off.

I saw people driving this morning on the way in with no visible view.

Have their back window.

Change shame.

Change shame.
