And something else I don't understand, please, the death row,
death row, they're gonna tell you the day they're gonna kill you
and expect you to be there.
We all, we all know we're gonna die, but we don't know the date.
They give you the date.
I'm coming to get you next Thursday.
So don't playin' nothin' the rest of the week.
Taking your account and the rest of the prisoners
just be messin' with you.
So what you doin' this Friday?
Oh, that's right, you ain't ain't gonna be here.
I was born in Lutterbock at a college sweetheart.
We were always handin' handin' here.
I wore high-pops' shoes and sandals,
shoesy walls and big tails.
I know I love her even the day.
You know my papa disapproved it.
My mama boohooed it.
But I told them time and time again.
Don't you know I was mean for love
but from a world all around her.
Yeah, hey, hey, hey, hey.
She's been my inspiration.
She's been my inspiration.
For the love I gave her through the evening.
Like the sweet magnet on your treat.
My love blasts up tenderly.
My life grew sweet and through the evening.
It's 6-0, 7-2-608 now at WRJN Radio.
I'm Don Rosen.
I want to thank you for joining me here on this Valentine's Day.
I'm on the evening.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I was made to love.
Wash up in the dark.
Valentine's Day, a hallmark holiday.
These two go to hallmark holidays.
And I really holidays are an excuse to spend some money.
But no.
One day you don't fight with your partner there.
Yeah.
You're just say I love you.
One day.
Or you can send your mom a Valentine's Day gift to the good life.
Yeah, that's always nice to do.
I read once this guy.
He was already several years ago, maybe 15 years ago, maybe more.
He used to on his birthday every year send his mother a gift on his birthday.
And it simply said thank you for having me.
That's it.
And every year a gift came with that note.
Thank you for having me.
See, you give it some thought.
It comes out really nice, doesn't it?
Yeah, I like that.
All right.
Everybody's screaming snow snow run for your lives.
Well, yeah, in parts of the country, like in upstate New York, here, not so much.
I was watching the weather last night in one of the channels.
I won't say which one it was, but it was sort of a run for your lifetime forecast.
Here for us, increasing cloudy this day with a high-tier 42 rain and snow tonight.
It blows around 35.
When it's 35 degrees, you're not really going to get snow that sticks, all right?
It's going to be a rainy snowy thing.
And a gradual clearing tomorrow with a high-tier 37, no accumulations at all.
But I was watching that run for your life.
I wasn't totally run for your life.
It was sort of run.
Why does something always going to say to you?
I forgot what it was now.
I think next week we're giving away tickets to now and then at the Racine Theater.
You know, I'm going to double-check that.
Pretty sure it's next week.
Now I'm not sure.
Pretty sure.
Okay.
This somebody put on Facebook.
And I found it interesting.
It's called the Wisconsin Teachers Contract for the year 1922.
$17, $75 a month, the teacher got paid.
But what do you hear what you have to agree to?
First of all, it was filled in with a word, miss.
And then you put your word name in there.
So it had to be a one.
And she had to be single, miss.
And it said, miss blank agrees to number one, not to get married.
This contract becomes null and void immediately if the teacher marries.
Number two, not to have company with men.
Number three, to be home between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
a less in attendance at a school function.
Number four, not to loiter downtown in ice cream stores.
Yeah, you don't want any of that going around, huh?
Once you get caught in the ice cream store, you brand your full life.
Number five, not to leave town at any time without the permission of the chairman of the trustees.
Isn't that like a federal kidnapping law?
Isn't that what that comes down to?
Number six, not to smoke cigarettes.
This contract becomes null and void immediately if the teacher is found smoking.
So I guess they didn't have that smoking teacher's lounge at school in 1922.
Number seven, not to drink beer, wine or whiskey.
This contract becomes null and void if the teacher is found drinking beer, wine or whiskey.
Number eight, not to ride in a carriage or automobile with any man,
except your brother or father.
I guess uncles are out, right?
Grandfathers are out.
Can't ride with those people.
You never know what people are going to think.
Number nine, not to dress in bright colors.
Number 10, not to dye your hair.
Number 11, to wear at least two petty coats.
Number 12, not to wear dresses more than two inches above the ankles.
Remember when I used to go to Howard Johnson's as a kid.
Remember Howard Johnson's restaurants?
All the waitresses had their dresses.
They had to be down to there like ankles.
They weren't allowed to be above the ankles.
Number 13, this is a multiple one here.
Not to keep the school, excuse me.
Number 13, to keep the school room clean.
A, to sweep the classroom floor at least once daily.
B, get this one.
To scrub the classroom floor at least once weekly with soap and hot water.
C, to clean the blackboard at least once daily.
And D, to start the fire at 7 a.m.
so that the room will be warm and toasty at 8 a.m. when the children arrive.
And finally, number 14, not to wear powder, face powder, mascara or paint your lips.
That was what you had to agree to to be a teacher in Wisconsin back in 1922.
All for $75 a month.
Miss blank agrees to it.
You had to sign that.
If you did, you couldn't be a teacher in Wisconsin.
And that's something.
Wow.
That's some contract.
It's almost similar to the one I had a sign here.
They didn't have the part about painting my lips.
But all the other stuff was there.
I don't trust radio people.
We're not to be trusted.
13 minutes after 6 o'clock.
People say it's the thought that counts for birthdays and Christmases.
And I guess may or not mean it.
But for Valentine's Day, that sentiment actually does fly for most people.
The National Retail Federation released a survey showing the top seven things Americans are buying for Valentine's Day.
By the way, the still time to buy most of them.
Candy, probably something special, not sour patch kids.
Creating cards.
Just pick one with the right tone and write a nice note inside.
Flowers might be too late to have them delivered, but you still pick them up.
An evening out.
A little thoughtful planning can really go a long way.
Jewelry.
Now, unless you know what they like, you know, it becomes a pricey impulse by clothing.
Same thing.
This is another one of those more challenging to pick out at the last minute.
And a gift certificate.
Just pair it with a card with a nice personal note inside.
And what do you have a nice Valentine's Day gift?
No one's looking to be to spend, you know, the jewels of the, the jewels of the ancient sacred, whatever.
Just just to remember is just a thought for the day.
Even a nice card with something written inside is a nice thought for the day.
I don't get a Christmas card cross out Christmas input Mary Valentine's Day on it.
Don't do that.
That's obviously not right.
Yesterday, did you miss it?
It was World Radio Day.
This year's theme for World Radio Day is celebrating over a century of radio, helping to inform, entertain, and educate.
Here's some stats.
The first commercial radio broadcast over 100 years ago on November 2nd, 1920.
There were over 15,000 radio stations here in the U.S. alone.
Everybody says, I can't get a job in radio.
There were 15,000 radio stations.
Somebody's got to watch it.
A poll a few years ago ranked the radio as the 11th most important invention of all time.
The top three vote getters were electricity.
Come on.
Fones and vaccines.
I mean, they're more important than radio.
What in five people say listening to the radio is a top little thing they look forward to hearing your favorite song played ranked 5th on a list of nice things that can happen in 80 given day.
Number one of list was finding cash.
Kind of hard to compete with that one.
A recent poll of more than 1,000 radio hosts found the top reason we do this is it's a whole lot of fun.
Although 50% also agreed with the statement, it's the only thing I know how to do or it's what I do best.
I have been radio this summer will be 52 years.
Wow, 52 years in radio.
It is fun.
It's the only thing I know how to do.
That's what I do best, I guess.
52 years.
So anyway, yeah.
The world radio day yesterday, not to be confused with national disc jockey day.
Not to be confused with that one.
That comes up I think in August, right?
Somewhere around there.
Yeah, most people I talk to who work in radio do it because it's fun.
You know, let's face it.
He's sitting in front of a microphone talking or playing music.
It's not that difficult.
So anyway, yeah.
Happy world radio day.
That was actually yesterday.
Forgot to mention that.
I don't know how I forgot.
Who's the bigger baby about being sick, men or women?
Well, I'm not even going to look at the results here and I can tell you.
Man, because I'm the biggest baby there is.
I complained about everything.
My wife suffers in silence, but I complain about the slightest thing.
I go, Larry, I don't feel good.
Let's go to the doctor.
That's me.
Anyway, I was right.
A new poll found men are more likely to be wanting to be taken care of.
58% said there was their mommy was still there to look after them.
You know, my mother panicked about everything.
Even when I, you know, even in her last days on this planet,
my mother used to still say to me,
but what's matter?
You don't feel good?
What you going to the doctor?
What?
Give me a call.
I want to know how you're feeling later.
She used to call me all the time and this is just before she passed away.
I mean, she was 92 when she passed away and she used to call me all the time.
How do you feel?
I feel fine.
Well, before you said you didn't feel good.
That was two days ago.
Well, how do you feel now?
I feel fine.
This went on all the time.
If you really bothered a bothered by turbulence when flying,
you might want to consider driving through North Carolina.
The most turbulent airline route in North America is the flight between Nashville
and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Second bumpiest is Charlotte, North Carolina to Pittsburgh.
What's with the air over those cities?
What's the matter with that air?
Okay.
I'd rather take the car anyway.
You know, lately, did you see yesterday, the last two days,
there was a guy who was flying his private plane, the door fell off in mid-flight.
The plane, the jet, the private jet that crashed on I-75 in Florida.
Just crashed on the, he lost both engines at crash.
Then he got that door that wasn't bolted on and blew off a, you know, commercial jetliner on 16,000 feet.
He got people causing problems getting thrown off the plane, drunk.
By the way, if they complain that people are drunk on the plane, why are they serving out the hall
before you get on the plane in the, in the, in the bars there?
And then on flight, you can get drinks too, but they, but they don't like it when you're drunk.
But they're getting you drunk.
I don't understand that.
619-WRTA and the Civic Media Station, hometown Raleigh, were oppressed.
Last night as I got home, about a half past ten.
There was the woman I thought I knew in the arms of another man.
I kept my cool, I ain't no fool.
Let me tell you what happened then.
I packed some clothes and I walked out and I ain't going back again.
So take a letter, Maria.
I dress it to my wife.
See I will be coming home.
620-WRTA and increasing plenty of this with a hundred forty-two degrees today.
Rain and snow tonight.
Lowes around thirty-five and gradual clearing tomorrow with a hundred thirty-seven right now.
Cloudy and twenty-seven degrees.
At WRTA and radio.
Coming up at 706.
Kiko Skow is going to be here.
Kiko, I love that name.
Kiko Skow is going to be here.
She is the Youth Services Director at the Racine Public Library.
We're going to talk about all the things your kids can do.
Your kids can do at the library that are free.
There's so many things to do there.
And I'm just me reading books.
I mean video games and everything.
It's a lot of fun at the library.
We're going to talk to Kiko and find out exactly what's going on at 706.
See I will be coming home.
The other side of moonlight.
I see John Stewart returned to host the daily show.
Nine years ago, he stepped down.
Says he only do it because he needs to vent.
He said, quote, I very much have some plays to unload thoughts as we get into this election season.
He's hosting the show every Monday night.
Who's hosting at the rest of the time?
I don't want the daily show.
It's on too late for me.
Odd but true.
Only a handful of authors have had the number one book on the New York Times bestseller list for fiction and nonfiction.
They are Dr. Seuss, Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, and Jimmy Buffett.
There's an elite group.
That's good.
I like that.
Amazon is facing a class action lawsuit for making prime users pay an extra $2.99.
The stream movies and TV shows without ads.
The lawsuit claims this is a breach of contract for users who already signed up to receive content with no ads at the original price.
Subscribers must now pay extra to get something they already paid for.
The lawsuit seeks at least $5 million at a court order borrowing Amazon from engaging in further deceptive conduct on behalf of users who subscribe to prime before the pricing change was instituted.
So when you first signed with prime, I'm not a prime member.
So if you signed with prime, you get streaming without ads.
But now they're going to make you pay an additional $2.99 for something you already had.
That's something that doesn't sound right there.
I could be wrong.
I'm not a legal mind here.
Just sounds like they're doing something that they shouldn't be doing.
Anyway, we'll find out $5 million lawsuit.
I guess they're going to give you up that $5 million against all the people in the class action lawsuit.
I guess you can get into it.
I'm going to get into that lawsuit because I'm not a prime member, but you might want to look into it.
Back in December, a doctor put her diamond ring in the pocket of her scrubs before a procedure and forgot about it.
But the time she realized that the hospital already sent her scrubs out to get cleaned, but then another doctor at a different hospital a hundred miles away ended up with those same scrubs five days later.
Found the ring.
I give it back to her.
I have a question here.
Do they watch those scrubs because do you think the ring would have fallen out of the pocket?
So I have a whole question here whether they actually clean them or not.
And I guess when you do scrubs, they don't send it right back to the same hospital with the hospital a hundred miles away.
I guess they put in one big thing and just fold them up and send them out where they need to go.
An anonymous man in Michigan walked into a place called the Mason jar cafe.
This happened last week or did $32 worth of stuff and left it $10,000 tip and it was no mistake.
He said he was in town for a friend's memorial service.
He was doing it to honor his friend who had just passed away.
He asked the waitress to split it with the seven other employees who were working on that day $1,250 each.
I'm sure his friend would have been honored.
You might have to pay more for chalk at this Valentine's Day.
This is why cocoa prices are surging mostly due to climate conditions in West Africa.
Yeah, all right.
Not every celebrity has a quick jump to fame.
Buzz speed put together a list of jobs famous people had before they made it famous.
Megan Markle.
She was a calligrapher and taught classes.
Tiffany had a Tiffany haddish worked at the boarding gates for American Airlines.
Margot Robbie who was Barbie in the movies made sandwiches at subway.
Amy Polar worked at an ice cream shop.
Lesson McCarthy worked at a Starbucks as a barista.
Avalongorio worked at a Wendy's for six years.
Adam drivers served in the Marine Corps for two years.
Whoopie Goldberg was a morgue beautician.
Rachel McAdams worked at a McDonald's for three years and Matthew McKenna.
He said he was an armadillo exterminator for a country club.
I don't like the name of that job.
Armadillo exterminator.
And of course, I was a janitor at a radio station.
I cleaned the toilets at a radio station.
We had a radio station when I first worked at where everybody smoked.
I mean smoked.
I had to take off all the desks in the office.
I had to take the glass tops on their desks.
I had to take all their stuff off their desk every single night.
And vacuum the ashes off the desk, then wash it.
Because there were ashes everywhere.
These people just smoked and smoked and smoked.
And sadly, the people that smoked a lot all died of lung cancer.
Yeah.
Elaine Wicks and Bob Lawrence and a whole bunch of them.
They just smoked a lot.
It's funny.
The smoke didn't bother me then.
It does now, though.
I don't think they allow smoking in offices anymore.
All right.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle launched a brand new website.
I don't know what's on it.
It's called Sussex.com.
That's spelled S-U-S-S-E-X dot com.
Again, I don't know what's on it, but it's a brand new website.
All right.
What else do we have here for you today?
Here are four workplace perks that we don't have here in the US.
They have been in Europe.
And you can refuse to work more than 48 hours a week there.
In Japan, you can take naps at work.
What you can do in here, too, just don't get caught.
Let's see here.
In France, you could ignore work emails when you're not on the clock.
And in Finland, a lot of business meetings happen in Saunas.
Really?
How do they get men and women in the Saunas together to have a meeting?
Sounds like an HR problem.
The secret to being more popular, according to the study, is noding N-O-D-D-I-N-G nodding.
Researchers found that people who nod a lot were 30% more likable and 40% more approachable.
You mean like, yeah, yeah, just take your head.
Yeah, I'm going to start doing that.
Yeah, when somebody comes in here, when Kiko comes in, because this is nodding.
Yeah, hi, how are you?
Yeah, yeah.
As she leaves, she says, this guy's weird.
He's nodding at everything I say.
29% of Americans would give up social media, excuse me, or caffeine.
If it meant they'd never get another cold, 18% would give up TV, 17% would give up their vacation time.
Huh.
Okay, if I told you you'll never get another cold, what would you be willing to give up?
That's interesting.
I think I just get it, because it's just...
Well, first of all, it's not real.
So you can say anything you want, it's not going to happen.
Yeah.
That's kind of interesting though, doesn't it?
I don't think I'd give up.
I just give me the cold. I'll get over it.
I've got over colds all my life.
Survey found the things we love and hate about winter.
The top things we love, the crisp air in the morning.
Oh, I hear that's true.
And how it looks outside covered in snow.
You know, if it's a day off or a weekend, I don't mind it.
The top things we hate are missing that warm weather.
And the heating bills, we miss the heater.
Okay.
All right.
Missing warm weather in those heating bills.
We don't like that.
629 and WRGN Radio.
Hope Jaub Radio will refresh to Civic Media Station.
I'm Don Rosen.
314 A.M.
99.9 FM and 98.1 FM in Kenosha.
My dad is a magician if you don't know.
And we would go watch him perform.
County Fair, Wilson County Fair.
And we would go there.
Fairs, I don't know how this to open.
But I don't think the government knows about him.
I don't know.
We ride these rides that were on the interstate an hour ago.
This is the 80s.
So we go watch him.
My dad's doing magic.
Right next to him, they had donkeys jumping off a high dive
into a pool.
So pretty tough to keep people's attention
when my dad is like, is this your card?
And everybody's like, hold on this.
He's about to jump off this high dive.
That's something you don't think you want to see.
Till it's up there.
And...
I used to work jump very loosely.
Yeah.
These donkeys are falling off this high dive.
And just so you know,
PETA shut that down.
And yeah.
And that was one everybody was like, we get that one.
I want to dance with you all night.
In this world there's nothing I will never do.
I'm happy just to dance with you.
Just to dance with you.
Oh, oh, oh, oh.
Is everything I know?
Before this dance is through, I think I'll love you too.
I'm so happy when you dance with me.
637 on this Valentine's Day morning at WRG.
And I'm Don Rose.
And I want to thank you for joining us here.
Kiko Skow is going to be here.
She's the Youth Services Director.
You have to receive public library.
But you talk about all the programs available for your kids.
And maybe some for you as well.
That's coming up at 706 this morning.
But first I have to ask you something here.
Are you a thief?
Think about this.
Are you a thief?
Here are the things we steal from the office.
Pans and pencils, top things we steal all the time.
Pans and pencils.
It always seems to work its way into your shirt pocket or something like that.
38% of us have done that.
The rest of the top five things we're stealing stationary, printer paper,
staplers, and food from the kitchen.
Toilet paper just missed the top five.
7% of us have stolen that from work.
When I worked at my first station, I had a guy there.
He was such a sweet guy.
I love this guy.
One of my best friends.
And he used to take home.
He worked at seven the midnight shift on the radio station.
So he can admit I know what he was there.
Except me because I worked at midnight to six.
And he used to take like ten rolls of toilet paper every week home with him.
And I know because I was the guy who had to order it.
Because I was the janitor also at the station.
So I had to order all the toilet paper.
And he used to steal it.
He used to take it home with him.
And he thought nothing wrong with it.
And the thing that got me was, you know, I'm going to have to explain why I'm ordering all those toilet paper.
If he's taking home ten rolls, that's forty rolls.
And there's only like a hundred in the box.
I had to explain why I keep ordering this stuff.
And he's just taking home with him.
He thought it wasn't stealing.
Let's take a look at our news this morning.
Stuart J. Wattles in our news center keeping an eye on our news stories this morning is our news director.

The region saw a 4% increase in sales compared to January of 2023.
Milwaukee, Washington and Kenosha County saw the positive growth in sales.
However, Ozaki Walworth saw declines.
Experts say the lack of new construction poses a significant challenge for thousands of would-be homeowners.
Those are the stories we're watching for you in our news center today from Stewart Jay Wattles.
He's keeping an eye on these stories and more throughout the day today.
You're in WRJN 641 right now looking for increasing Claudia this today with a higher 42.
Looks like rain at snow tonight lows around 35 and you say how much snow we get when the lowest 35 probably nothing.
Probably snow falling and just melting into water when it hits the ground.
Graduate clearing tomorrow with a higher 37 right now a clear sky went from cloudy to clear at 25 degrees.
Right.
Something that's going to tell you and now I forgot what it was.
I got to write these things down.
I got a couple of fun facts for you this morning about $3,200 worth of change.
It's thrown into the trevy fountain in Rome.
Italy every single day that's $1.2 million a year.
The trevy fountains are very famous found you're supposed to book money in there make a wish to the tune of $3,200 a day.
The following people have all killed someone in a car accident Laura Bush Matthew Broderick.
I remember when that one happened Keith Moon Rebecca Gahar Brandy.
I remember that one too Vince Neil and Howard Hughes.
A study found 2000 Americans asked them which country has the best food in the world of the 2000 Americans chose America.
Of course, the United States, the rest of the top five Italy, France, China, and Greece.
Those RB sandwiches just pushed us right over the top.
A woman in Arizona got into a bad car accident last October and after three weeks in the hospital she just texted the woman who did her eyelashes.
Just to show her how well the lashes held up after everything she'd been through in the car crash.
Now her text and picture are going viral.
I got demolished in a car crash.
I'm in traction.
I've been in the hospital for months for my eyelashes.
They look great.
Burger King in Japan released a new one pound burger.
Look at this.
It doesn't have a bun.
Instead, it's just two patties on top, two patties on the bottom and condiments in the middle.
How do you eat it?
Just stick your fingers on the meat.
All right.
That sounds gross, but it's in Japan.
They're not selling it here.
So we don't have to worry about it.
More fun facts.
There's a psychological theory called the blue seven phenomenon.
It's where the average person will say their favorite color is blue and their favorite number is seven.
I wasn't exactly sure why, but they're so popular.
Yes, seven.
Somebody says me what you're lucky number seven.
I can't explain why I'm blue.
And that was my favorite color.
I might say blue.
Dr. Pepper debuted in 1885.
One year before Coca-Cola.
And Oreos are a knockoff of hydrox cookies, not vice versa.
Have you ever had hydrox?
I remember my mother used to bring them home.
These are Oreos.
These are the fake ones.
These are the pretend Oreos.
Hydrox cookies.
I don't know.
Do they sell hydrox anymore?
They look just like Oreos.
They didn't taste exactly like Oreos.
I mean, they were good.
But they didn't taste exactly like them.
Hydrox debuted in 1908.
Oreos debuted in 1912.
I remember my mother brought them home.
These are Oreos.
We're trying to pull a fast one on us.
These are hydrox.
You can't do this mom.
We know.
We're not stupid.
I've been to the third grade.
I know that the difference between hydrox and Oreos.
I remember when I used to go watch TV in the basement.
This is why I couldn't have been more than five, six years old.
Because I did stupid things.
I assume I was that young.
This is before television was 24 hours a day.
And they used to put a test pattern on the TV with a high-pitched tone.
Am I must have been about three or four years old?
Because I didn't tell time.
I didn't know what time it was.
I used to wake up, go to the rec room in the basement and turn on the TV
and sit there with a package of Oreo cookies and eat the whole package.
Nothing's much changed to today.
I could do the same thing except I don't have test patterns.
So I used to sit there and watch the snow on the television.
And then the test pattern came on with that tone.
And it went on forever.
And I sat there until they said, good morning.
This is channel seven.
I used to.
Then they came on with the cartoons.
By that time I was already two thirds of the package of Oreos.
Fun days.
97% of people say they've seen their neighbors in an embarrassing situation.
70% have witnessed an argument.
31% have seen a neighbor naked.
I've never seen any of my neighbors in an embarrassing situation.
They don't fight.
They don't argue.
They don't walk around the streets naked.
They don't walk around naked with their windows open.
Not that I've checked.
But yeah, so that's okay.
All right.
If you think you want to be a little smarter,
the clay-meeting ice cream will do the trick for you.
Ice cream for breakfast seems to make you smarter.
Researchers aren't quite sure why.
But it's possible that ice cream makes you happy
and that boosts your mental energy.
They found the people who weighed ice cream
at faster reaction times and processed information better
when monitoring their brain,
moderate, excuse me, with the monitored their brain waves.
The scientists also found people more alert and calmer.
Well, I know where I'm going on the way home
to the market to go get some ice cream for breakfast tomorrow morning.
That's where I'm heading.
You know, the old cliche never go to bed angry.
A study found is true.
When you fall asleep mad, that feeling becomes a permanent memory
and makes it harder to get over.
Yeah, I try not.
I don't think we go at the bed angry.
No, I don't like doing that.
A 44-year-old woman in Pennsylvania, this is wild,
is facing charges after she tried to hire a hitman
to kill her husband for $4,000.
But get this.
She asked for a payment plan of $100 a week for 40 weeks.
What you think she was dealing with here, the bank?
A loan company?
Did we get a pay the hitman $100 a week for 40 weeks?
I don't think it works like that.
I do survey asked people where different landmarks are,
like the Grand Canyon.
Only 38% of Americans know what state it's in.
That's it.
It is a tricky one.
Is Arizona, right?
No, they say here 19% said it was in Colorado,
which is the most common wrong.
Oh, yeah, it's Arizona.
Yeah, okay, I was right.
The correct answer is Arizona.
People thought it was Colorado.
Here's one more.
Only 32% of people know where Niagara Falls is.
Even though New York and Canada were both acceptable answers,
22%, 22%, one fifth of the people said it was in Iceland.
How could you possibly think Niagara Falls is in Iceland?
Oh, these people go to the voting booth.
A 63 year old guy in North Dakota skipped his nieces wedding
to go gamble in Las Vegas.
And now we'll have to buy her a nice wedding gift because
he just won $368,000 in a poker tournament.
That works.
That'll do.
She'll get a nice gift out of that.
See, paid off.
Are you someone who loves ordering room service
while staying in the hotel?
Hotels.com released its first ever room service report.
It includes a list of the 10 most unusual room service requests.
Here they are.
Diet water.
Melted ice cream.
Blowfish.
Boiled bottled water.
I guess they're not trusting the water in the area of period.
And really not trusting the water when they want boiled bottled water.
A cooked fish with the gas brought with them.
Cockle popcorn.
I didn't even know what that is.
And no egg white omelet.
That's gotta be interesting.
All right.
I don't know.
This sounds strange.
People are strange.
I think Jim Morrison from the doors said it right.
People are strange.
We're looking for increasing climbing this today with a higher 42 degrees rain and snow.
Loads around 35 to 9.
Graduate clearing tomorrow with a higher 37.
Right now a clear sky.
25 degrees.
Looking to talk to.
Kiko.
Scal.
I got to write.
Kiko Scal.

We're getting there eventually.
Clare in 25 degrees.
Not summer yet.
You know, everybody says, well, the winter's over.
Tell the people in upstate New York at 15 and a half inches of snow yesterday.
Just north of Manhattan.
I think Manhattan got about five inches of snow yesterday.
So summer's a little further away than we think.
But it's nice out there here.
What a crisp, clear sunny morning.
Wow.
Is it nice out there?
Just stuck my beak out the door.
Yeah, it's really beautiful.
I love it like this.
It's 6.52 at WRJN Radio.

Odd but true.
In the early days of parcel post, a few parents managed to mail their kids to relatives.
In 1913, an eight month old baby in Ohio was mailed by his parents to his grandmother who lived a few miles away.
The baby was safely delivered.
The regulations quickly established to prevent any additional mailing of children through the US mail.
Johnny Carson did this once.
He put postage on a model.
They had a woman come in a model and he mailed her.
He said it was perfectly legal to do that.
So they brought her in.
He stuck his postage on there and he sent her through the mat and somebody from the post office pick her up.
Any mailed her.
Could you imagine mailing your infant eight month old infant to the US mail?
Wow.
But they did it.
Get arrived safely.
Was okay.
Of course, they took the insurance out on him, right?
I wonder if it was one of those things in the mail where you had a sign for it.
Where they just left the kid on the porch.
People on social media talking about the red flags they've noticed while looking for a job.
Here they are.
Fast-paced environment.
That's what they say.
It's a fast-paced environment.
The person explained usually means absolute chaos with no one in charge.
Salary to be discussed.
Every single job I've gone for where the salary wasn't discussed upfront and the interview was severely underpaid.
I got to tell you something in a minute here.
It's really funny.
Unique challenges usually means constant train wreck.
Being told during an interview that they're not looking for people who only come to work for a paycheck because we're a team.
Extremely short or empty job descriptions means you're going to wear a lot of hats.
And being hired on the spot may seem exciting, but it can be a red flag.
If you're essentially hired in the first few minutes they speak to you, it could be a sign of high turnover or even worse.
All right.
Here's what happened to me.
So I got this job at one of the biggest radio stations in America, WSB radio.
And I was so excited about it.
I didn't care what they promised me.
First of all, the money wasn't that.
It wasn't more than I was making where I was leaving.
But they said just being able to say you work at WSB radio is worth money.
You know, I was 22, 23 years old.
What do I know?
I believed it or how old I was 26.
I believed it.
The next thing you told me is you have a five day work week.
Wow.
What they didn't tell me was and this is what happened.
The five day work week was Wednesday through Sunday.
Believe it.
I thought you think five day work week Monday through Friday, but no.
It was.
It was this the other way around.
It was Wednesday through Sunday.
I remember when I came home, I said, what?
What?
They said five day work week.
Wait a second.
But I was so excited about getting the job.
I didn't care about the details of it.
Can artificial intelligence take the job of a writer?
The creator of Black Mirror asked chat GPT to write an episode.
I said it was terrible.
Chat GPT just took the synopsis of the previous episodes and mushed them together.
No worry on that yet anyway.
Turns out our prisoners manufacture all kinds of products, not just license plates.
Prisoners have helped make picnic tables, canoes, genes, human silhouette targets for shooting practice.
I don't know like that.
And Victoria's Secret Launcher Ray, the prison in San Quentin, California has a gift shop
where you go by greeting cards and other items made by inmates.
My wife and I in Route 66 went to Jolie at prison and we went to the gift shop.
They have a gift shop there and we bought some stuff made by prisoners.
Not just because, you know, we didn't really need the items.
No, we didn't need them.
But you're helping prisoners.
They get the money and it helps them out there and some of the items are very well done.
They were risked up, leather wristbands they made and they had engraving on them.
It was really good.
I brought a packers one.
That's why I bought that.
But yeah, it was, I think they did a nice job.
One of the trickiest situations you can face in work is when someone starts crying
or a few ways to handle it.
Act naturally.
Find out what the real problem is.
Keep things simple.
Focus on work related issues and resist the urge to be a psychiatrist.
Happened here with this radio station once when I was a program director.
Somebody came into my office and said, I won't mention your name, but the girl at the front desk
was crying.
Our receptionist.
I said, what do you mean she's crying?
She said, she's crying.
She's like wailing out there.
And they said, what are you going to do something about it?
And they said, what do you want me to do about it?
So I went out there and they said, what's the matter?
Turns out she just found out she's pregnant.
And she was 18 years old.
And she didn't know how to tell her parents.
She didn't know.
And I said, oh boy.
So I said, when she said, oh pregnant, I said, oh congratulations.
I don't know what to say.
And turns out everything was fine.
As a matter of fact, I think the kid graduated from college already.
He's married on his own.
And it turned out very well.
But you know, it's scary.
She was 18 years old and frightened.
And she just found out.
And unfortunately, she was at our front desk when she found out.
But everything worked out well for her.
And I'm very glad about that.
And I said, once you go home, take the day off.
Just relax.
I don't know what I'm going to tell everybody.
I said, you tell him what you just told me.
And everything worked out perfectly.
All right.
We're talking youth services at the library.
Hey, go scout.
It's coming into just a moment.
