The next time a toddler gets stuck inside one of those claw machines,
he must be left in there.
You are the one who lost sight of your kid long enough
from the climb inside a machine. Get a roll of quarters and win him back.
After half time, the game bogged down on a slow defensive back and forth.
But the big news is that Verizon released an ad featuring Beyoncé
and moments after it airs, she announced a country-themed Renaissance Part 2 album.
Wow, that is incredible. I cannot wait for the album to drop. I'm a huge fan.
But I do have to say announcing your album during the Super Bowl has real
getting engaged during your sister's baby shower energy.
Stop asking me to prove I'm not a robot.
I just want to order some socks.
If I don't recognize a stop sign that doesn't mean I'm an Android.
Just means I drive an L.A.
She's so very nice, she should break the ice,
let her know that she's on your mind.
What you're trying to hide when you know it's on,
she's the best thing you'll ever find.
Oh, can't you see it? Don't you think she's feeling the same?
Oh, I guarantee that she's the one holding your name.
You should hear how she talks about that.
You should hear what she's saying.
She said she would be lost way in the chat.
She's had her hand out of her head.
You should hear how she talks about that.
She's just hanging up.
She said she would be lost way in the chat.
She is really low.
She's in love with you boy.
And good morning at 608 at WRJ.
And I'm Don Rosen. Thanks for listening this morning.
Oh, you should hear how she talks about you.
That stuff going around your office.
I don't think anybody's talking about me here.
I don't think people know I'm even here.
I think they gave me a key to the building and then they forgot about me.
That's what I think.
You should hear how she talks about you.
You should hear what she's saying.
And my name comes up.
And as you don't know, Rosen did me used to work here years ago.
What happened to him?
He's still alive.
I think he does mornings at WRJ.
And really, I'm not sure.
He'll be on that station.
I'm pretty sure that he's there.
That's something what it's probably like.
Yeah, I thought I heard him once.
Somebody mentioned his name.
I don't think it was.
Yeah, I don't think he died.
I think he's still around.
He's still alive.
At 609 at WRJ, I'm cloudy today with a hundred and thirty-seven
part of cloudy tonight.
Lowes 29 sunny tomorrow with a hundred and forty-three.
Right now, a clear sky of thirty degrees.
I'm telling you, this weather is perfect compared to what they're getting up
and the northeastern part of the country right now.
There's a snow at this date.
I veish me.
Let's go on up there.
Yeah, I want to remind everybody.
I wanted to do this the other day and I kind of forgot.
A lot of that going on lately.
Everybody's forgetting everything.
Anyway, so we do have the candidates running for the fourth congressional district primary,
which is coming up February 20th.
We do have interviews with them.
We did interviews live on the air.
And now they put them on our Facebook page.
So if you go to WRJ on Facebook page and you scroll down in alphabetical order,
there you can find the links to the interviews with Keith Fair, Jordan J. Lawrence,
David Mack, Jacqueline Schrader.
They're all there.
We interviewed all four candidates live on the air at one point.
And then we podcast them.
So you have an hour each.
So if you want to know some of the thoughts about the candidates and how they feel
about Racine and what they plan to do and probably met and maybe not what they plan to not do,
give a listen.
Just go to WRJN.com.
No, I'm sorry.
We're talking about our Facebook page.
I'm sorry.
Go to our Facebook page, WRJN, the Facebook page, scroll down.
You'll see it there eventually.
You'll see a big Don Rose and show logo.
And there you'll see the links for Keith Fair, Jordan J. Lawrence, David Mack and Jacqueline
Schrader, all four candidates for your fourth congressional district here in Racine.
Now, what I hope to do is after the primaries, I think the fifth district, I'm trying to remember
the other district, we'll have the candidates on the air here for the other districts.
But this one we did.
And so you can listen to all four candidates and get the lowdown and, you know, see how you feel about voting for them.
Hospice alliances are number one choice for patients facing end of life and empowering those who support them.
Hospice alliance provides comfort and dignity to enhance the quality of life each day.
When seeking hospice care, ask for hospice alliance.
The award winning community based nonprofit that gives back to education services and grief support.
To learn more, visit hospicealiance.org hospicealiance.org.
You may not need them now, but sometimes you probably will.
And I went through that with my parents before they passed away.
We had to, they were never in hospice care because my mother was pretty sharp.
And when she went, she went pretty fast.
But, you know, we did send her to a rehab facility.
And, you know, it's something you have to think about when the time comes and hospicealiance.org is a good place to start.
And I hope you never need it, but, you know, chances are you might.
So, so those mean ones I cried my eyes out.
Oh, I'm going to cry just thinking about it.
And it showed young parents.
Oh, I'm going to cry if I hear this.
If I say this, I'm going to tear up.
I can't believe I even thought about it, but we're talking about hospice alliance.
And it showed this, these two young parents.
And in between them, they were holding hands of their little boy.
And they were walking with their little boy underneath.
It showed the little boy a grown-up man holding the hands of both his parents who were now elderly people.
Every time I think about it, I get tearied.
That and dog memes, pet memes.
I feel terrible, but I saw on the other day.
I know I feel terrible about these things.
Look at them all the time.
I don't know why I do that.
They had one where there's a guy.
It looked like a painting.
It was a real life.
It looked like a painting.
And let me get the exact quote.
I keep it on my phone.
And I look at it all the time.
And I get all upset.
I get tearied when I see it.
And I don't know why I keep looking at it, but I do.
Oh, here it is.
It says, it says, it's an old man hugging an old dog.
And it says, the one thing I could not protect you from was time.
Oh, I'm the getteria.
I'm thinking about that.
I got to stop this.
This is ridiculous.
I do this to myself all the time.
I get these memes on there or these things on Facebook.
And I look at them.
It makes me feel terrible.
But I still look at them.
What's going on with me?
I just get them off my phone.
Think about happier things.
You know the other thing I do, which I got to stop doing.
I watch all these reality shows and these on Facebook
where the videos are.
All these arrest videos.
These police videos they have on there where they arrest these
belligerent drunks and people doing nasty things with their lives.
Anyway, so I watch all this stuff.
And then when I shut it off, I feel like,
humanity, what happened to it?
And my wife says, stop bringing that into the house.
And she's right.
I watch all these shows like live PD date line 2020.
And then I watch these videos on Facebook.
People just, you know, being bad to police and nasty and rotten.
And, you know, just the cops or it couldn't be nicer to these people.
And they're just nasty spinning at them.
And I'm watching these videos.
I said, why are you watching?
Stop bringing those into the house.
And she's right.
There's so much plot.
You know, I look at these sad videos.
I look at the sad memes.
I'll give these police videos.
I got to stop doing that.
I have to stop doing that.
All right.
My eyes are all teary from that.
Me and the little boy and his parents.
Probably because I went through that.
Although my parents weren't,
they weren't shriveled up elderly people when they went.
But that was still a big guy.
And my mom was sharp as a tack when she wasn't, you know.
But still Google searches for the word.
I can't even get into this now.
Excuse me.
Google searches for the word coffee just hit an all time high.
Searches for bacon flavored coffee and coffee flavored cereal
also hit an all time high.
Bacon flavored coffee.
Now I never had a cup of coffee.
I never tasted coffee in my life.
I tasted coffee ice cream once because my parents had coffee ice cream.
I used to do a thing in my house.
Oh, why I did it?
But I did it when I was little.
When we were in the record watching TV,
my mother and father, my brother and I,
I used to take orders from them and make them something in the kitchen
whatever they wanted.
Now I was allowed to cook on the stove.
So it had to be something like ice cream or a sandwich or something like that.
And I used to bring out my pad and take orders from them.
And one day my mother, she set off some coffee ice cream.
And we had coffee ice cream and I tasted it.
I said, yeah, is that what coffee tastes like?
I never, never tasted coffee after that.
Coffee flavored cereal.
Now kids as a rule don't like coffee.
So that wouldn't work because coffee,
cereals are mainly for kids.
I know adults eat them,
but you got to get the kids alike.
I don't really like coffee flavored cereal.
Now I hope this one is fake and no one is really this lazy.
Someone who works at McDonald's posted a video of a door dash order
coming through for a single salt packet.
No food, just that salt packet.
McDonald's usually hands those out for free.
However, if you order them through door dash,
you have to pay a fee and a tip.
Some people think the person ordered it by mistake,
or an employee at McDonald's did it as a stunt to go viral.
Excuse me,
but a lot of restaurant workers in the comment section said
they do see similar orders like that come through.
People ordering a single dipping sauce,
a few more weird ones include a cup of syrup,
two ketchup packets,
ten hot sauces from Taco Bell.
If you just get a taco from Taco Bell,
they give you 50 of four side of pickles
and just 15 slices of American cheese.
Again, people really can't be that lazy, can they?
I guess they can be that lazy.
All right.
Coming up this morning at 706.
I gotta get my, I gotta stop looking at these memes.
I feel terrible now.
I'm well, I started tearing up.
Jim Bessier is gonna be here.
We're talking about some of the old items he's got.
They bring back memories of old received.
Yeah, this should be fun.
So that's coming up at 706 this morning, Jim Bessier.
Carol G in four days, not gonna be with him.
She's in Arizona now.
And so he'll be solo today.
So it should be still a lot of fun.
Maybe we'll call Carol and say hello to her.
Quaker up and say,
Carol, hello.
It's 618 at WRJN,
clotting with a height of 37 today.
Right now it's clear in 30 and received.
I'm gonna get him somehow.
I think you'd have to slow down.
Before it's start to flow in.
I think you're headed for a breakdown.
So careful not to show it.
You really don't remember.
Was it something that he said?
All the voices in your head.
The late Laura Brannigan,
I think she passed away on an early age.
Don't you think you thought it?
If everybody wants you.
Why isn't anybody crawling?
You don't have to answer.
Leave a hanging on the left hand.
Holy Maria!
Gloria!
I think they got you now.
Gloria!
I think they got you now.
Gloria!
But you really don't remember.
Was it something that they said?
All the voices in your head.
What a talent!
What a talent!
Yeah, Laura Brannigan passed away on an early age.
She died in her sleep.
At her lodge in East Quagg,
New York that's on Long Island in the eastern end of Long Island East Quagg.
Happened on August 26th, 2004 at the age of only 52.
The cause was attributed to a previously undiagnosed cerebral aneurysm.
He had been having headaches for several weeks before her death.
He sought no medical attention for them at the time of her death.
It was erroneously reported she was 47.
She was actually 52.
And her ashes were scattered all over the Long Island sound.
Yeah, we lost her way too early.
These people who passed away in their 50s and earlier,
and even 60s, way too early.
Way too early.
Who knows what they could have done with their lives.
623 at WRJ and Radio.
Yeah.
I love that song.
And that doesn't wake you up in the morning of the well.
Without a new alarm clock.
You don't have to answer.
You don't think it's on the left hand.
You don't have to answer.
You know, and we mentioned that she had headaches
and it went undiagnosed because she didn't go to the doctor.
It didn't seek medical attention.
I proclaimed at the end of last year that 2024 would be the year of the doctor for me.
Because I'm going to do the age now where I got to start checking
at every lump bump and scratch.
So that's what I've been doing.
I've been to four doctors or three doctors this year already.
Three, I went to one twice.
Three doctors.
I'm doing everything she can check out.
I think that's, I gotta wait a minute.
One, two, three.
No, four doctors have been to four.
I'm checking everything out.
How you wake up in the morning and you say,
gee, I didn't notice that before.
Where'd that come from?
Well, I'm finding out this year.
The year of the doctor for me, I'm going to get everything all checked out.
You know, I used to make fun of my mother's.
I used to do my mother and father's pill box, you know,
where you put all the pills in there every day.
And I used to talk to my sister-in-law and say,
do you know how many pills I'm putting in their box?
This is like every week it's, I line them up on the kitchen table
and I got to pull all my pills in there.
And one day when I was visiting my parents in Florida
in the middle of their kitchen table was this wicker basket.
There must have been 20 pill things in there
between my mother and my father and we used to make fun of it.
And they say, what'd you do?
Clean out Walgreens?
What's going on here?
I have become my mother.
They're between the vitamins and the pills and everything else.
It's like six, seven pills a day.
But as a now, an old fair in some of the revitements I'm taking.
But I said, wow, that's a lot in there.
So I've become my mother and father, become my parents.
And we all become our parents after a while.
That's the funny part about it.
I'm not going to mention names.
But some of my friends and acquaintances,
even in this business, have become their parents.
That we're all taking.
You know, and I mentioned one time on the air about
when you start talking about your aches and pains,
you become your parents.
The other day, it was about two weeks or so ago.
On the air on the phone with my sister-in-law.
And I love my sister-in-law.
She's just the perfect person to talk to when you want to just chat.
Anyways, so I'm talking to her.
And we're on the air on the phone over 40 minutes.
And all we did was talk about our aches and pains.
And all the pills and everything else.
And surgeries we should have.
Oh, wow.
Firefighters.
I got to get off this.
This has been a very depressing morning.
I'm bringing up all this stuff.
I apologize.
I shouldn't be doing it.
Firefighters in Virginia saved a hermit crab from a house fire on Friday.
All the humans inside already made it out.
They were back in.
The firefighters went back in and brought the hermit crab out.
He was in a tank.
No people or pets were injured.
The hermit crab was fine.
After all, hermit crabs are people too.
You got to save those.
You know, kudos to those fire fighters for going in after pets.
They do that all the time.
They'll go after cats, dogs, anything in there.
If there's a pet in the house, they always say to the person.
Anybody else?
And that's my pets and my cats in there.
They'll go in there.
They'll look for it.
They'll put their lie.
Firefighters put their lives on the line to save your pet.
You know why?
There's pets or people too.
This story is going to make you feel good.
I get the press you again.
No, this one's a good story.
That's what's a good one.
Two 90 year old twins just had a big reunion in Colorado.
And you heard right 90 year old twins.
They hadn't seen each other in 81 years.
They got split up as kids at age nine after their parents passed away.
And they found each other with the help of a DNA test.
Both said they never expected to see each other again.
And here they are 81 years later at the age of 90 reunited.
That's a feel good story.
I like that story.
Odd, but true volunteers have collected 50 pounds of gum
from the seats of the Red Rocks amphitheater in Colorado.
They say it's from 2023 alone last year.
I venture to say you can go into any high school in America.
Go to the cafeteria and you can scrape 20 pounds of gum
or 50 pounds of gum any given week of the bottom of a table in the cafeteria.
Even the desk, remember if you just put the gum on there.
That's disgusting, but you know, people did it.
Disgusting.
Have you ever wished your hard taco shell tasted more like cinnamon toast crunch?
Wish graded.
Old El Paso introducing new cinnamon toast crunch dessert taco shells.
For now, they're only available at Walmart's website,
they'll soon be popping up at retailers nationwide next month for a limited time.
I'm going to wait for when they put out the taco shells to taste like lucky charms.
That's what I want.
Oh, what are we doing with our lives?
628 at WRGM Gymnacere.
We're talking about some old items you might remember.
Growing up in the Racine area.
Yeah, that's coming up at 706 this morning.
I can't wait to gym gets in here.
It was a good time to gym this year.
And maybe we'll make it call a college carol gene portage.
He's out in Arizona.
We'll see.
Climbing today with a high-tier 37, a clear sky now.
30 degrees at WRGM.
Old Town Radio refreshed.
A civic media station.
So I wrote a movie last year.
But I just assumed that I would just write it.
And then they would cast like a beautiful actress like Kate.
Uped in or like middle to like a Kate, you know.
But they were like, no, we want you to be in the movie.
But stop eating.
I was like, okay.
They were like, you promise?
I was like, oh my god.
I don't even like food.
I was just bored.
They got me a trainer.
Like a real, like he trains like Megan Fox and like actual foxes.
And he's like, going over my new meal plan with me.
And I'm like, ugh, I've got to stop you here.
Like it sounds like from what you're saying.
Like at times I'll be hungry.
I'm like, what's that about?
And he explained to me like, yes, some people are hungry sometimes.
And I was like, that's crazy.
I've never said these words.
I've never been the girl who's like, oh my god.
I forgot to have lunch today.
I'm like, ugh.
If anything, I'm like, oh my god, I had two lunches today.
I'm like, ugh.
There's a more, I know.
Here's a more than dreamer.
Let's head to my eyes.
Take me to the clouds above.
Control, can't seem to get enough.
At 636 to WRGN radio, I'm Don Rosen.
No more sad things this morning.
I can't deal with it.
That was a terrible depressing half hour for me.
All right, well, we're better now.
We're in a state on top of things here.
We've got news from Stuart J. Wattles coming up at just a moment.
Just a quick reminder, if you want to hear who your candidates are for the fourth
Aldermanic District, here in the routine area, we interviewed all four of them.
Keith Fair, an alphabetical order.
Keith Fair, Jordan J. Lawrence, David Mack, and Jack M. Schrader.
Go to our Facebook page, WRGN, Facebook page, scroll down, and you'll see links to all four interviews we do to them.
So give me an idea of who to vote for this February 20th in the primary.
Again, an alphabetical order.
Keith Fair, Jordan J. Lawrence, David Mack, and Jack M. Schrader.
Are your four candidates for the fourth Aldermanic District, here in receipt.
So we're offering that to you from WRGN radio.
Clotty with a high-tier 37-day party.
Clotty lows 29-9.
Tomorrow's sunny with a high-tier 43.
Right now it's clear.
Take a look.
They changed the temperature in the last two days here.
Let me see here.
Oh, come on.
Our temperature is 29 degrees now.
One down, one degree.
I don't know.
A clear sky.
638 and WRGN radio.
Let's take a look at the news headlines.
Two or eight waddles in our news center watching things for us today.
Crystal Kaiser has been found in Louisiana.
She's the Milwaukee woman facing charges where homicide case in Kenosha County.
The now 23-year-old Kaiser is accused of killing a man.
What she says was trafficking her.
In January, Milwaukee police say she assaulted her boyfriend and officers,
leading the charges there, plus bail jumping charges in Kenosha County.
US Marshall say they found her in Louisiana with the man.
She's accused of assaulting.
There's a hearing in the homicide case next month.
The victim in a fatal Kenosha shooting Saturday night is known with a search for a suspect ongoing.
The Kenosha police department identified 20-year-old Julian Flores as the victim of the Saturday night.
On 42nd Street, just west of Sheridan Road, police say Flores had multiple gunshot wounds.
This is the city's first homicide of the year and the second of the county.
The southeast Wisconsin state senator who wants to give surplus funds back to the people that paid them.
State Senator Bob Warch representing the 22nd district has a plan that could put an extra $1,000 in the pockets of every person in the state.
Early Wisconsin has a substantial rainy day fund of $1.8 billion, along with a surplus of $3.5 billion.
Under Warch's proposal, taxpayers would receive their share of the surplus, it wouldn't do about $1,000 a person.
The February event at the Racine Unified School District Planetarium is set.
Next Tuesday, it's a program called Exoplanets Worlds of Wonder.
At last about an hour and starts at 6 p.m., a listing says Exoplanets will chronicle the journey of humanity's first spacecraft beyond our solar system.
The numerous new worlds that astronomers are discovering.
Planetarium is at Gifford School. The program is free, but reservations are required.
There's a sign-up link on the Racine Unified School District website.
That sounds good. Those are the stories that Stuart J. Wannels is keeping an eye on today.
He'll have updates on those stories and news stories coming up throughout the day right here at WRJN Radio.
All right. Thank you, Stuart.
640 coming up at 706. So we have Jim Bessier. It's going to be here.
He's going to be talking about items that, you know, old items.
He's got this place at the, it's called the Schrader Building.
I'm going to ask him what the name of that building is right there on 16th Street.
And you go in there and it's like stepping back in time to old Racine.
He accumulated these signs that were going to be thrown out and objects are going to be tossed out and he put them together.
And it's really good. So we're going to talk about that with Jim Bessier coming up this morning at 706 here at WRJN Radio.
All right. Let's see what else we've got for you here.
Beyonce's going country. Do you hear that? Yeah.
After a Super Bowl ad for Verizon. Which was funny, by the way.
I think I got to see the ad yesterday. A Super Bowl ad she made for Verizon. Very good ad.
She announced a country album is coming March 29th to release the first two titles.
Texas Holden and the others called 16 carriages. Put for Beyonce. What a talent.
And I have the feeling that with her talent, she could do anything she puts her mind to.
So looking forward to that.
This year's nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame include you're ready.
Here they go. Share Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, foreigner, Shenato Conner, Peter Frampton, and Ozzy Osborne.
He's already in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Black Sabbath.
This time if he gets in, you'll be in all by himself.
How many people do you think are in Antarctica?
You wouldn't think as much that could hold the pews of eight churches, but that's true.
Antarctica has eight churches, four Catholic, three or Eastern Orthodox.
And the last one is non-denominational Christian.
You know what the temperature? You know what the weather's like in Antarctica right now?
I actually have it on my phone.
I don't know why it's on there, but I keep it on there.
I keep a lot of cities on the phone that mean something to me like Racine and where my daughter lives
and where my parents are buried, it's snowing there in West Babylon.
Antarctica now is minus 26 degrees.
The forecast today is sunshine, perfect sunshine all day today.
And it's going to reach a high temperature of minus 25.
I think we're going to hit a high.
Oh, wow, look at this.
Minus 34 minus 35 coming up a little later on today in Antarctica.
Yeah.
Oh, look at this all week long.
It's going to be in that like minus 40.
Oh, my goodness.
Yeah, it's going to reach minus 40 today.
Wow. Okay.
So we know what to be in Antarctica, but there were eight churches in Antarctica.
And that's strange.
You wouldn't think they had that many people to fill them, but I guess they do.
Ah, but true.
Here's a last minute Valentine's Day for you.
If you don't have your gift yet, how about a $10,000 present?
One lucky couple can enjoy a private dinner on the 102nd floor of the Empire State Building
in New York City on Valentine's Day.
Again, it's going to cost you $10,000.
And I don't think that includes the tip.
And if you have to pay 20%, that's going to be a lot.
Show this news.
I was a big fan of I still am of two and a half men with John Cryer and Charlie Sheen excellent
show.
However, John Cryer now says he's not in pursuit of never working with Charlie Sheen again.
He said, I love him.
I wish him the best.
I don't know if I want to get in business with him for any length of time.
I guess they didn't get along or he just doesn't trust Charlie Sheen anymore.
The golden bachelor ret is officially happening.
No details as of yet.
I guess it worked well with the golden bachelor.
Now they're going to try the golden bachelor ret.
What are they running out of 20 and 30 year olds?
Now, and Sony bought half of Michael Jackson's music catalog.
Now this is half of it.
$600 million.
That's for half.
A woman of Australia who won almost $150,000 in the lottery ignored messages from lottery officials
for 10 days because she thought it was a scam.
This happened to me, not with a lottery, but with a pension I was due.
I was getting these letters from a company that I had no link to whatsoever.
And they kept saying, contact us because we owe you money.
And I just kept throwing them in the garbage.
Eventually, they got my phone number.
And this is when I had a landline phone.
We had to answer the phone when it rang.
So I answered the phone and they said to me, Mr. Rosen, we owe you money.
And they said, what company are you?
And they said, well, we owe you a pension when you work for our company.
I said, I never worked for your company before.
It was Gennett, the people alone in USA today.
I said, I never worked for you.
They said, well, maybe you work for one of our companies we owned.
And I said, I don't think so.
But where did you work?
And I told them they said, well, we bought that company.
We owe you a pension.
And I said, great.
Send me the paperwork and they did.
And every month I get a check.
But I ignored them.
This went on for a long time because I thought it was a scam.
And they said, you're ignoring our letters.
Yeah, because who sent you a letter?
